Speaker 1 (02:14):
They got they got all the coworkers involved to do
a little videos, you know, Timothy Parker for this show.
People like that Nicky k friend of the show. They
jumped on and said some kind words. You know, individual
videos back to back to back, handful of other people,
and I was holding on. I was good, rob G.
But then they cut to a video of my mother,
(02:34):
my stepfather.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Oh wow.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Then they cut to my best friend Vic, one of
my best friends, Darren Haynes out here in LA.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
They cut to I might be missing someone.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Then they cut to my wife, of course, and then
they cut to my children.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
Oh my gosh, they did a whole happy birthday song

Speaker 4 (03:14):
They had your boy shouldn't tea.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
No, it's just my my executive producer there shout.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
Out to Mark.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
He's he's one of those go over the top type people.
So they did. They went over the top, and so
you know, it had me emotional you know, a lot
going on in life, and you think about things, you
reflect on things, and so got me a little emotional.
But other than that, man, no real plans at all. Honestly,
you know, we've been gone for a little bit, so
no real plans. She's gonna take it easy.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
With the family.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
And yeah, you had a birthday a few days back
as well, so you're you're Leo. Technically I'm a virgo,
but none of my none of my female friends or
family will allow that.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
They always call me a Leo.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
I mean that sounds like something that a teenage girl
would suggest. But that's okay.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
That's the problem, Roger, is that a bunch of That's
the issue all my life. Once somebody gets this once,
what what's your sign? Let's sign?
Speaker 4 (04:08):
Are you all the freaking time? It's weird, dude, I
don't know what it is.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
So I have never been asked that, what is your sign?
Speaker 1 (04:14):
See Mary Mack. I didn't want it, Mary Mack, I
didn't want to make it. Is it a black thing? No,
because always black women ask me that.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Mostly I feel like a die.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
And you know, I've been celebrating blackness forever, and that's.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Okay, and see how she knew that, Rober I guess,
so let's welcome me into the high couple carewer. I
would normally say rob G as producer Extrudinaiory rob G

Speaker 1 (05:22):
And for over forty years, Tireck has been helping customers
find the right tires for how, what and where they drive.
Ship fast and free back by Freeeroid has your protection
with convenient installation. I'ms like mobile tire installation tirack dot com,
The way tire buying should be, Robgi, is that time
to get into the show. And let's started off with
that's right, our daily update on the Dallas Cowboys. Here
(05:44):
we go, So, Rob G Jerry Jones one of his
it's funny, one of his great friends, also friend of
the show and literally friends of Rod Parker, Stephen A.
Smith who gets to talk bad and bastard cowboys and
all that. But he'll say it's more of the fans
and the cowboys else he had him on the show.
Do we have any sound from Jerry?
Speaker 3 (06:04):
I don't think we have it ready.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Okay, Well, listen, Jerry Jones had a lot to say
with his friend Steven A. Smith. Let's break down a
couple of the things he talked about. We've been hitting
on this all week, the drama between he and Michael Parsons,
he and Micah's agent, and just where things stands, rob Ge,
give us give me a couple of bits of the
latest that we have there.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
Yeah, so it all started yesterday we mentioned it on
the show.
Speaker 5 (06:26):
He was on the Michael Irvan podcast and he goes
on this whole thing about how you know we had a.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Deal in place years terms.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
Money and his agent Michael Part's agent, David Muligheta said
show it up your ass. Apparently he didn't actually say that,
according to Ryan Clark that, yeah, that was not actually
said by him.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
But as Jerry has been known to do, he's on.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
A full blown media blitz because after he did the
Michael Irvin podcast, he jumped on Fox News. He also
jumped on Stephen A's podcast, and in it he doubled
down on the initial comments about Mulighetta. Here's what he said, quote,
I'm not going for it talking about this whole situation.
We've had a very very strong negotiation. By the way, frankly,
it wouldn't have made any difference what the negotiation was
(07:09):
because guess who has to be comfortable for this to work, Me, Micah.
There's not room for a third end.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Quote.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
Okay, let's start there.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
There's a lot to get to. We're probably going to
carry this conversation and the other side of things to
the next segment because you and I got a lot
to touch when it comes to this. So let's start
that last part you just mentioned there, me and Mike.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
Essentially, that's it.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Well, first of all, Micah doesn't have a relationship with
you without an agent, Rob G. Because he can't have
a deal, he can't be part of the Dallas Cowboys
without an agent because that's part of the collective Bargaining agreement.
So hold that for a side. Jerry Jones is acting
like he's in some smoky Vegas nightclub on some mobster vibes.
(07:55):
Rob G would have it a scotch and soda, and
he signed the deal on the napkin with Michael Parsons.
You absolutely have to have an agent involved. This absolutely
part of the contract CBA, the collective bargaining agreement. And yes,
you guys can converse, Yes you can agree that we
both want this to work. We both want to find
(08:16):
this way to make this happen so we can stay
with each other. But the idea that you can have
a conversation legally without him is if he's going to
sign a napkin in blood. This is not how this works, Jerry.
And this is why I used the comparison yesterday that
I think is still at propos because you mentioned today
Jerry Jones going on a million talk shows and a
million different things like that, and I believe Jerry Jones
(08:37):
is trying to operate as this marketing guru, this person
who brings all eyes on us, and to his credit
he does. And to his credit he as the Dallas
Cowboys as the biggest and most important franchise in the NFL. However,
he's doing it unlike another Jerry, and I mentioned doctor
Jerry Buss, Rest in peace because doctor Jerry Buss had
(08:58):
mastered Mark, had master getting his game being the place
to be in LA with the Lakers, with the form
and having the Forum Club and the Laker Girls and
showed time era Lakers and onto Shaq and Kobe and
so on and so forth. He created it being a
mussy must happen. You have to be their place to
(09:19):
be the biggest brand in the NBA, one of the
biggest sports brands in the world. Oh and by the way,
since Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys in around nineteen circle,
nineteen eighty eight, eighty nine, well he's won because of
jim Judd, because of Jimmy Johnson a couple of times,
and then of course in ninety five Verry Switzer. But
we heard from him since and doctor Jerry Buss had
(09:41):
won around six or seven rings, right, eight rings really
since Jerry Jones has bought the Cowboys, so you can
actually have it both ways, be in a marketing gets
shortened air and also get wins as well. So this
is a thirty year pattern for him. This is nothing new.
He did the same thing with the Mit Smith back
in ninety three. He held him out a few games
(10:02):
right there, made a bunch of public comments about his word.
Then of course they kissing made up. He did it,
as we know sometimes in a little bit later in
the nineties with Michael Irvin. He's done it. Of course
with Dak, He's done it with CD, he's doing it
out with Micah, And I just wonder at some point,
I know he loves the fraternity of the Cowboys rob
g and they always puts his arm around all his
(10:23):
guys and they all genuinely love him.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
But at some points somebody gonna take offense that.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
You're playing with me public, that you're making a fool
of me public, that you're playing around with me like
a friend. You can smack in the back of the
neck all the time, and when they finally get mad
and flex at you go a al right, my bad,
I'm just having fun. And that's how he dangles these
contracts and shows off and makes public spouts and has
fun with him because it's all publicity is good publicity.
(10:47):
It is there a point when somebody doesn't care anymore.
Rob gi Ll I don't care. I'm willing to do
whatever it takes to move on because I don't want
to deal with you. I don't want to play these games.
And I wonder if Micah will stay in ten toe Town,
ten toes down in this moment and be that.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
First person to really set it off.
Speaker 5 (11:03):
We'll tell you everything you said is accurate, right, But
here's something that we got to consider when it comes
to Jerry Jones.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Jerry Jones just in.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
The last ten years has had this kind of situation happen,
think like six.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Or seven times. We're down the liston right.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
Starting at twenty fifteen, des Bryant had a contract situation
dragged out DeMarcus Lawrence, Zeke, Elliott, Dak Prescott, Zach Martin,
Ceedee Lamb, Micah Parsons. They all held out, and interestingly enough,
outside of Micah, none of those guys were up by
(11:38):
David Mulligana, so a different agent each time he's had
the same situation happen over and over and over and
over and over.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Now to your.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
Point, at what point is someone gonna say enough's enough?
I'm tired of this. I don't need to have the
walking soap opera, I don't need the side show.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
I'm here for football. I'm here to get paid, point blank. Period.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
Well, as we talked to out yesterday, I'm still watching
the America's Team documentary or docuseries on Netflix. As of
two pm Pacific here on Friday, it was.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Still top ten on Netflix. It is still a monster.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
Jerry Jones, last I checked, has one hundredfold his investment
in the Dallas Cowboys. Not double, not triple, not ten times,
one hundred times what he paid for. It is what
it's worth now. So you said, when is someone going
to say enough's enough? It's not gonna happen. It would
(12:35):
have happened by now. Jerry Jones, at his core, is
a businessman. That's what led to him breaking up with
Jimmy Johnson.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
If you watch the.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
Documentary, he thinks he's a football guy.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
He's not.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
Ultimately, he's in this business to make money. In the
He'd like to win, but he wants to win on
his terms. And so because of that, you or seeing
this playout over and over and over again, whether it's
coaches like Jimmy Johnson, are players now like Micah Parsons,
Jimmy Jones is here or Jerry Jones is here to
(13:10):
make money and make the Cowboys the biggest show in sports.
He has been wildly successful at that. So because of it,
I don't see any scenario where this stops. This is
gonna keep going until he eventually passes away.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Well, you know what else is gonna keep going? Rob
g what's that twelve and five? Getting out in the
wild card or getting out in the first round. That's
exactly what's gonna keep happening as well, because Jerry Buss
put in Jerry West to lead the organization, arguably the
greatest basketball mind we knew from a player's standpoint, from
a front office all even coaching until he didn't want to.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
Do it anymore because he was too connects to the game.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
And every aspect. To putting in a pat Riley who's.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
Gonna be getting a statue here in La soon.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
At Crypto dot com arena, to putting in Phil Jackson,
some will say, arguably the greatest coach of all time
in the NBA. So they understood doctor Buss and how
to put somebody in position who's smarter than me, put
him into positions to win. And Jerry I understand it.
He absolutely is not going to change this side of him.
But the idea that he has to do, even the
(14:19):
football side, is my one.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
Issue with him.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
If you paired him and Jimmy Johnson together, man, that
would have been magical. It was magical, right, it could
have continued to be magical. One who understands and can
give the best out the players to the and Jimmy
Johnson did that wherever he went in college and of
course in the pros. And then a guy who was
a marketing and shortened air and Jimmy. That could have
been a match made in heaven. That could have been
(14:44):
peanut butter and jelly. And don't nothing in the world
go better than peanut butter. But Jerry Buss had the
same situation with Jerry West. He did the exact same thing.
Speaker 5 (14:51):
He had a guy in place with a proven track
record of building championship roster after championship roster, making trades,
signing dudes, drafting guys ahead of guys. You wouldn't expect,
like arranging trades to get Maggie Johnson number one a
couple years later making a trade to get James Worthy
number one. You know that kind of stuff going on.
(15:12):
And did Jerry West finish career with the Lakers. No,
In fact, we found out after he passed they had
b for twenty years because of the way Jerry Buss
handled his situation with Jerry West. It ended badly between Jerry,
Jerry Buss, and Phil Jackson.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
So this idea that Jerry.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Buss rog how many rings both of them get about.
Speaker 5 (15:32):
Fine, But it worked with Jacky Finning, Jerry Jones, Jerry Jones,
Jimmy Johnson. They both had a situation where they had
guys in place that knew what they were doing better
than the owner did, and it still wasn't enough because ultimately,
these guys, in addition to being the ones that write
the checks, they are show.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
Me, and that difference is one of them showed me.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
If you were a Laker fan, you would say he
showed me the money, as in the rings, show help
me the rings. We got a bunch of rings out
of it. Laker fans can say Cowboys fans if you're
the age of thirty.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
You don't even know what a ring look like other
than your wedding ring.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
All right, it is the couple rodzi'say for Rob Parker
on this Fucky Flashback Friday, and again we were talking
about there's another side to this we have to get
to as well, and that is the meltdown that we're
seeing happen digitally. What is happening with that? We'll tell
you next to Tiako who on a Fucky Flashback Friday.

(18:05):
of Blogging the Boys for SB Nation. We'll talk some
cowboys in just a bit with r J. In My
five Minutes or so. Roberdie Moore more to the the
Micah and Jerry drama that is breaking down on our face.
This one is more of the digital download version, the
social media version, and Michaeh Parsons. As we know, we
(18:25):
talked a little bit about it yesterday, but some more
kind of happened as the show ended for us. But
so it's started with the Michaeh Parsons putting up the
Micah seven eighth Scripture to the Bible. Even if I fall,
I will rise the Lord is my Light. He put
that up. Then he goes on to put up one
and it says it's basically over the Allen Iverson clip
(18:46):
where he says, wherever I go, I'm a win. I
don't care where I go, I don't want. I don't
give a dang what team I go to.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
I'm a win.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
I'm a win regardless, it don't matter. Michael with the
peace sign as well.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
So scrub the cowboys from all of the off.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Boys from his bio, which is big time. I'm hurt
my ex's tripp and energy. Is he just to hurt X?
What's going on right now? Yea?
Speaker 3 (19:10):
This is embarrassing, bro.
Speaker 5 (19:11):
It is like this is some gen Z social media
that I'd expect that, I forget that he's only twenty six.
I'd expect this from a certain somebody's girlfriend, right, like
you know what I'm talking about, Like.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
This is what we see.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
I don't expect this from a guy who's supposed to
be a businessman, or in this case, I'm a business
man like Michael Parsons is supposed to be that guy.
And what's funny about this whole thing is he could
scrub all the social media's, he could put out all
the tweets, put out all the tiktoks, create these really
cool graphics to put up on X.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
It ain't gonna matter.
Speaker 5 (19:46):
Because, as Jerry Jones alluded to on the stephen A
podcast earlier, I got control of him for three more years,
point blank period. As long as I want him in Dallas,
he is going to be in Dallas until MICHAEH. Parsons
decides I'm skipping game checks one point two million dollars
a week. That's how serious I am about getting out
of Dallas. Then no, you ain't getting traded. This is
(20:08):
not the NBA. You cannot Jimmy Butler, James Harden your
way out of a deal. Micah Parsons and this whole Twitter, Instagram,
social media meltdown that he's having it's all for not
it's not gonna matter because let's say we play that
game where he's like, Hey, you know, I'm really gonna
set out games. I'll cost myself twenty one million dollars
(20:30):
if I have to. You know what happens if he doesn't.
I think you have to play at least seven games
for his contract. It's just gonna totll I add to
another year. So instead of having your your right for
three years, I got it for four. Like Micah, this
is not gonna go the way you think it's gonna go.
You've got no leverage in this situation, so I don't
know all this whole thing is just it's fodder.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
But here's what makes it strange to me, rob Gi,
you had a chance a couple of years ago, according
to reports that they came to Jerry with like, yo, Jerry,
you know he's the best, one of the best, and
if not the best player defensively at the time. We
can get some for them, obviously, because we know it's
gonna be big money here in a couple of seasons,
and Jerry says, no, we're not trading him. It's our guy.
He's a guy boom. But you also haven't signed him.
So now you have him just grown out east. And
(21:12):
it's amazing what a few months to do, because a
few months ago Michael would scream cowboy for life.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
I want to be here. I don't care the money.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
I'll take a deal. It doesn't matter. Now here we
are with my boo boo to hurt me. I'm about
to scrub my page. We never went together, we were
never a thing. It's a rap. And I totally hear
what you mean, because Jerry ultimately has that contract. The
only thing I'll say is one thing we know about football.
You and I sit next to the Ephram Salaams, the
Carrie Rose, the you know, Buckie Brooks used to be
(21:40):
like all these other people would be on all the time.
You know, I used to sit next to Marcella's Wiley
for years. And the point is we know how fragile
locker rooms can be. Yes and by the reports that
we also have seen, Michael Parsons isn't the leader that
he thinks he is.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
Right, that's what we reports were so to me.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Exactly so, Slater mentions that, and then you look at
now if I have a guy who are already trying
to be the leader and we kind of let it
go a little bit because he's the best players, all right, whatever,
But now he's just grun up, don't want to be there.
And it's to your point. Fine, let's say he is there,
but maybe he takes his foot off the pedal just enough,
you know where he's still playing hard, but that extra
ump that makes him a top three defender, if you will,
(22:20):
three for whatever is missing. Those are the types of
things that can hurt your whole team. If the goal
is to get to the postseason, if the goal is
to get to an NFC championship game, ultimately the goals
get to the Super Bowl. And if you're a Dak
Prescott type saying trying to be the leader of this team,
trying to get these guys all in, get back to
a twelve and five season and then get to the postseason,
see what we can do. You don't need any extra thing,
(22:42):
you right, And I just think that's the sucks out
of the whole thing is for the guys. We don't
talk about the offensive lineman who just put on their
helmets and go to work every day. Right that DV
that saves the linebacker who's just showing up every day,
no dramas, just coming to play hard. This extra little
thing could be the thing that loses our team in
locker room just a bit, just a bit, because we're
(23:02):
already fighting up in a battle in our own division.
It's not let alone the NFC, let alone the NFL
within our own division.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
So these are the little things to me that can
add up well.
Speaker 5 (23:11):
Last question before we get to MANSI why is it
that Mike Coo can undermine his agent but Jerry Jones
can't because you mentioned the Mikel's Like, I don't need
to be the highestpeed guy. I want to be a
Dallas cowboy for life and I don't need to be
top of the market. And then Jerry Jones like, all right,
then I ain't gonna talk to your agent. Let's just
do the deal with me and you.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
But why is it like and give me credit? Dang it,
I want some credit. Did not tell you this to
put some put some credit money? Didn't I say this
month ago?
Speaker 3 (23:33):
Yep?
Speaker 1 (23:34):
Dude, I have an agent, you know, Rob Parker. I
don't know if he doesn't. I'm assuming he did. If
he didn't, he'd have one.
Speaker 4 (23:40):
Yeah. Bet.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
My point is, dude, you a certain point in your
life you realize let them do the dirty word, let
them talk. You can say, y'all, I want to be
a cowboy for life, So I'm gonna let them work
it out. But you don't have to go overboard. And
I think Michaeh doing that easily makes it what met.
Jerry's real good at coming in and rubbing elbows and
oh hoo hot, hold on, you just see how's your mom?
Speaker 4 (24:00):
How's that?
Speaker 5 (24:01):
You know?
Speaker 1 (24:01):
He's great at hat.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Have you heard of the White House? By the word
of the resident?
Speaker 1 (24:05):
I know, way, we're gonna go visit the White House
when we win this Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Micah.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
He's good at that, And I can see how it
would take a twenty five, twenty six year old and
they look up and they're like, what the heck? I
dag normals sign my life. Way wouldn't have count it.
But yeah, he doesn't wound me. He know, Jerry knows
what he's doing, all right. R. J. O'haw, manager and
editor in chief of Blogging The Boys What Will help
Us gets for ESB Nation a little bit more enlightenment
on this right now it is Monty Belanio is gonna
(24:30):
get us with training. Hey, Monty, put it. Put it.
Speaker 8 (24:34):
Happy Friday, guys. We've got four NFL preseason games for
this week, three on this Friday night. One is about
to start right now, Eagles and Jets. Then in thirty
minutes we're gonna have a doubleheader. It's the Falcons and
the Cowboys, and the Vikings and the Titans, and then
it ends with the Bears and the Chiefs. That's the
last game tonight. Kickoff is at eight twenty eastern. Other
NFL news, aside from what Michael Parsons is doing with
(24:55):
the Cowboys, I have no idea, but the Commander is
traded running back Brian Robinson Junior to the four forty
nine Ers for a sixth round pick in twenty twenty six.
The Vikings and the Panthers have had trade talks involving
Carolina wide receiver Adam Thielen.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Steelers first round pick.
Speaker 8 (25:08):
Defensive tackle Derek Harmon suffered a spring to mcl in
his knee during last night's game against the Panthers. He's
gonna miss at least a month in baseball Pirates are
up on the Rockies two zero bottom of the second inning,
Nationals on top of the Phillies in Philadelphia three to
one bottom of the second as well, and the Blue
Jays are beating the Marlins in Miami three zero after
the first inning.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
Back to you guys, she is Monzi, Thank you, Ja
appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Yeah, all right, it is the by the way, Monzi,
real quick, you're dot dog is gonna be It's a
big time series with the podcast. Yes it is.
Speaker 8 (25:37):
Yes, it is. Start set nine forty eastern. If anyone's
wondering from San Diego. I know I'm a little I'm
a little on edge.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
W I tell you who's not Rob Manfred. He is
excited no matter what he's like. Y'a can throw balls
at each other, dance when you hit a home run,
beef O don't love this is great at baseball, Sue, Yeah,
Rob Gena, I might hit on that a little bit
later on. Is now of course the couple Rob in
for Rob Parker aking ees that back joints not cooperating.
Some days your body is just like I ain't gonna
be able to do that, and on those days, luckily
(26:06):
there's a lead with just one pill. A lead provides
up to twelve hours of paying relief, so you can
keep moving. Please use as directed. R. J Ochoa, our
guest manager and editor in chief of Blogging The Boys
for SB Nation, R Jay, what's going on?
Speaker 3 (26:18):
What's o buddy?
Speaker 9 (26:19):
How goes the guys? Happy Friday? Happy weekend?
Speaker 1 (26:22):
Well? Thank you? The week's been good because every day
I talked to rob Gs content Ah, man, I wonder
if we're gonna have anything to talk about. We say,
you know what, let's rest our heads, little one, Let's
just go to sleep, because when we wake up, Jared
Jones will give us some content and he has done
just that. Our ja, what's the latest in your mind
of Dallas? Most pertinent thing that we need to know
and talk about? Is it the fact that through it all,
(26:45):
like rob g was saying, Micah, I own the cut
rights to your contract to you, you ain't going nowhere?
Is that where we are?
Speaker 9 (26:53):
Yeah? I mean this, this whole thing was sadly, really predictable,
and sadly, as long as it feels like it's gone on,
we're still technically not even as deep as we got
with Ceede, Lamb and Dak Prescott CD signed on August
twenty sixth of last year, and obviously Dak signed on
the day the season began, which was September sixth. So
I mean, anyone who's who's followed the Cowboys, I think
(27:15):
to a legitimate degree, has known for a very long
time that this is how they approach these things. This
is completely avoidable, This doesn't have to be this way.
Normal functional NFL franchises don't do this. It's difficult to
say whether it's purely for attention or whatever, but I
think what's more than obvious is that it's a distraction.
(27:36):
It's cancerous to the overall culture of the team, and
it's quite frustrating. I think that Cowboys fans have really
grown tired of this. Nobody's even entertained anymore, you know
what I mean. Everybody's just exhausted of the stick and
of the headlines and attention grabbing the antics of this team.
But hey, they're going to play a preseason football game tonight,
(27:58):
so I guess that matters.
Speaker 5 (27:59):
Also, Yeah, we saw in the video that there was
concern about whether or not mikel would even show up tonight,
given what's transpired over the last seventy two hours, and
I saw a video posted on social media where someone say, hey, Michael,
why don't you come to the Falcons and again gives
these fingers up, like hey, give them a call. Do
you envision any scenario because I don't where this ultimately
(28:20):
ends with Michael playing anywhere than the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 9 (28:24):
I don't envision a scenario where that's possible in twenty
twenty five. You know, I think I still wouldn't bet
on this, to be clear, but I think it's you know,
I feel less confident that he's a Cowboy in twenty
twenty six or spaced on where we're at. And again,
there is some precedent here for CD and DAK and
whatnot to where this is pretty normal. I think, if
(28:47):
I have to conspiracy theory, galaxy brain a hypothesis for
what this looks like in the near future. Obviously two
weeks from today, the Cowboys will have played a game
already in actual regular season one. I would I'm not
going to accuse Micah of being a liar or anything
like that, but we've we're seeing in the NFL, you know,
different players develop injuries that they just can't play through.
(29:08):
If I had to, you know, again, be a conspiracy theorist.
I wouldn't assume that Micah is going to have back
tightness or something that just inhibits him from playing, but
keeps him in the building on the sidelines, therefore not
in violation of any contract. And it's this weird, you know,
ambiguous Kawhi leonard ish holding that gets even more toxic
(29:30):
because now you're talking about being inside the regular season.
Speaker 4 (29:33):
Listen, that's not crazy, r Jay in the sense that.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
When you start bringing up biblical scriptures, you start doing that,
I'm mad at my ex and I screw up my
social media from them. I mean that you're all in
at this point.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
This isn't just a you know, I'm disappointing.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
How things are going, but we're gonna get it done,
you know, like if you're Hendrickson down there up there
in Cincinnati. So this is this seems a little bit
more personal, uh there, For sure, I want to ask
you about the collective being a Dallas cowboy, you know,
this is kind of it. You know that, and it
benefits you because you could be a cornerback or a quarterback,
(30:09):
and you get some extra love because you're with the
Dallas Cowboys. But do these things where the player's thin,
do they just focus on the field and they somehow
ignore this, or does it take a toll on them.
Speaker 9 (30:22):
I've never had anybody expressly tell me that it bothers them.
But I think if you read into what they're saying
and what they do comment on the situation, I think
it's pretty space to infer that it is you know,
that they probably wish it were done differently. You know,
when training came started and Dak and Cidi, you know,
made their first press conference appearances, they both obviously were
(30:44):
asked about this situation. And I'm paraphrasing and somewhat putting
words in their mouth, but the gist is accurate. They
both said things to the degree of like, yeah, we've
been through it, you know, and everybody knows how silly
it is, and everybody understands that this is the way
that the team wants to do things and that there's
no logical benefit to it. Like that's the thing, Like,
(31:06):
you know, if an alien landed right now and the
three of us had to educate them on the way
that this business works, the alien with no understanding of
you know, brand or legacy or issue that the alien
would be like, this is this is illogical. This is
this is doing things you know to make them more
expensive for no reason. You're achieving no benefit other than
(31:27):
that you're pissing off the most Like that's the thing here, guys.
The three dudes who they've gotten in this ring with
are the franchise quarterback. Whatever do you think about that?
He obviously plays the most important position, the star wide
receiver and the best player on the team in Michael Parsons.
So this isn't you know, all due respect the fifty
third guy on the roster who you're you're battling with.
(31:48):
And even if the question I keep kind of posing
out loud is to say the Cowboys win, right, Like,
whatever they define to be winning in this negotiation with Micah,
what will it have been working? Because at this point
you're just now you're damaging all future negotiations. Every agent
who represents any player of who you ever are going
to negotiate with, is making sure that they are not
(32:10):
going to let you take advantage of them because you're
basically screaming that that's exactly what you want to do so.
I mean, at a certain point, you're losing in the
brand scheme, beyond losing in the moment. And I do
think that that wears on people. It wears on fans,
and I think that you can tell a lot about
a team by their fan base and their temperature, and
people have I think at one point in time they
(32:32):
enjoyed the circus because we all love reality television. But
you know, we all get old and we all get
tired of watching Big Brother because they just introduced too
many twists. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (32:42):
Are j Ochoa blogging the Boys espionation You're on the
odd couple last morning? For me, I'm glad you mentioned
the agents because you know this has been a part
for the core situation for Jerry Joes now basically since
you on the team, but especially the last ten years
or so, this whole situation with David Mouligett, it seems
personal to me based on the commentary what people I
don't think realize nationally. I know you don't have this
(33:03):
in Dallas, but David Mullagedtta does not only represent Micah
Parsons on the Dallas Cowboys, he also represents their big
offseason acquisition George Pickens, and I believe he's entering the
last year of his contract. Could you imagine a scenario
where this goes so sideways with Micah and Mullagedta that
ultimately leads to, no matter what happens with George Pickens
(33:24):
this season, that he's also in a new uniform next year.
Speaker 9 (33:28):
I mean, certainly, I don't know how. I mean, that's
a very logical, you know, line to draw between the
two dots, right, I mean, if you're trying to make
it personal, I mean the ramifications are going to be
personal based on the age who represents this client. And
to your point, I mean, it'd be one thing if
you know your first round draft pick who you took
this year happened to be represented by David Mullageta. Okay, fine,
(33:50):
do you deal with this problem in a thousand days,
when maybe the dust has finally set up, get traded
for George Pickens, when he's already eligible for an extension
and when he's entering final year of his contract. I mean,
it's inviting this chaos, you know, And that's why it's
gotten old for people, and it's gotten stale, and it's predictable,
and you're talking about George Pickens, and I certainly agree
(34:10):
that that's a fair point. But if we're talking about
first round picks, Tyler Smith was their first round picks
three years ago and he's up for a milor. He's
eligible for a contract extension and they haven't taken care
of that. Dearn Blain had the crazy pick sixties and
a couple of years ago, he's eligible for an extension.
Brandon Aubrey, they are all world kicker, he's eligible for
an extension. So it may be different agents and may
be different people in points of representation, but ultimately you
(34:32):
are still stirring the pot in a way that's going
to cost you both financially and from a morality standpoint.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
Down the road, man, we appreciate you so much. That
is again our ja Ochoa, manager and editor in chief

you we got a few minutes here before we got
(36:43):
a break the Warriors. It is reported that they have
been trying to get Lebron James to come up to
the bay. We know Lebron James has been flirting with
Steph Curry more than he did event I mean he
has been Hey, man, I want to play with steff
I love play with Stephanie. Who would you love to
play with Steph? Steph stephan He's always saying that. And
(37:03):
now we're getting the reports that they've reached out the
around eighteen times or so.
Speaker 5 (37:08):
No, they've reached out the last eighteen months multiple time
at times.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Damn well, you don't know how many times they called
in the last eighteen months. ROGI desperation you starting their
caller id No. This is for me real quick. This
is look it reminds me of we forget at the
end of a lot of great people's careers. We start
to see see some pairings that you go, Okay, Charles Barkley,
(37:33):
Jaquem Olajuwan, you got Clyde Drexler, jakeem Alain Elijahan. You
see Scottie Pippen teaming up with folks over there at Portland.
Speaker 4 (37:40):
You get.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
So to me, this is kind of Pobe and Kobe
and Steve. Great example, Kobe and Steve Nash. You start
to get Paul George, Paul Pierce and KG.
Speaker 4 (37:49):
It worked for them, but not the next version.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
So to me, this is what you're getting, the last
desperate attempt for both guys to try to win a ring,
get together their skill set. Matt Lebron will love to
just dish out and maybe play down low and Steph
can run around picks and shoot it. So it makes
sense for the pairings. But ultimately I don't see it happening,
And ultimately I think it's too late. Where okay, you
(38:13):
do that to make it happen, what you'd have to
give up? I don't think those teams will be able
to compete against the real teams in the NBA.
Speaker 5 (38:19):
Yeah, I'm just gonna say this, the Warriors calling the
Lakers about Lebron James is like me asking the wife
for intimacy.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
Sis. The baby's been born. It ain't gonna happen. It
ain't gonna happen.
Speaker 9 (38:29):
Yo.
Speaker 5 (38:30):
You can keep asking and keep you know, calling and
calling and calling and texting and DM and all that stuff.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
It ain't gonna happen. You know, the reality of the situation.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
Yes, we just bought a new couch and it's really
really really big, like a sectional too big to be
honest with. Just you know, our living room isn't that big,
and the couch is huge. It's all yours, okay, because
you might need it after your wife you don't listen
to this show, I don't worry about well, this would
be the one time she was like, you know, I'm
(39:00):
not doing that to day. And plus my buo was
already boo boom, Rob gave the garage.
Speaker 4 (39:06):
I got you up.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
This is not twice, it's just a noue.
Speaker 5 (39:11):
It's a it's a feudal effort right now by Golden
State because the reality of the situation is that you
mentioned it. They don't have anything to give up, Like,
are you gonna the whole point of making a trade
like that is do you compare Lebron with Steph with
Jimmy or Lebron with Steph with Jimmy with Dream I
like you think some combination of Brandon Pajemski and you know,
(39:31):
Jonathan Kaminga you.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Don't even want to re sign like that ain't gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
Kaminga ain't. And that's the real issue here is that
Kaminga Jonathan Minga.
Speaker 4 (39:40):
They're trying to sign him. He doesn't want what they want.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
He believes he's in fear that, Okay, you signed me,
then you just used me as bait to trade me
before the trade deadline. So he's like, if I ain't
gonna do all that, I'd rather just go somewhere else
now and be able to be a part of that team.
Speaker 4 (39:52):
So there a lies the issue. They don't have enough
to even really make that happen.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
So and plus two, I know Lebron might be feeling
some type of because of this and Luca and signings
and all that, and they're not putting him first. But
a healthy Luca, who looks like he's in amazing shape,
who's motivated and got kicked out the playoffs early and
he was told he was fat, they called him Hookah Dancic.
I'd rather run with that in Austin Reeves and you
give it, give it a shot with that, then to
(40:18):
go up with the Warriors and again be missing things.
This ain't twenty eighteen nineteen Lebron and Steph, where a
shoot that combo alone could be enough to at least
have a real chance. This ain't that. So to me,
I'd rather just ride it out in La with Luca,
you know, and obviously my son as well, with Rani
(40:39):
and I have a good you know, just see what
that can do.
Speaker 3 (40:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (40:43):
The one thing I will say about this for Golden State,
I will give them credit though for trying to do
whatever they can to to salvage the last few years
of Steph Curry's career, because this is something that you know,
Lebron is gonna say it because he's such a vagabond
and he goes from team to team. The team he's
not gonna have the same kind of equity where they're like, hey,
we got to look out for Lebron, the way the
Warriors are trying to look out for Steph No.
Speaker 1 (41:02):
I mean that's the thing about being more nomadic, right,
You don't necessarily know where home is bars Fox Sports Radio,
