It was a good game. Aaron Rodgers looked good. He
did almost had three hundred yards, the receiver, wrong route,

had a good shot to win that game. But they
played way better. We could admit that. And then they
went out today and you know what, Kelvin, they did
the right thing. You go all in. You got a
forty year old quarterback. There's no five year plan. You're
not trying to wait till next year or down the road,

or Aaron Rodgers might not even play next year.

You're not out of it. The season is still there.

It would have been great had they won, they would
have been tied for first right at three and three. Instead,
they're two and four, a lot of games left to play,

I applaud the Jets and ownership to just say, we've
already hitched ourselves to a forty year old quarterback. We
got to give him everything anything he needs. And for

Devonte Adams, I don't blame him. You know he went
there for Derek carrs because college quarterback that blew up
in his face when they jettison Derek Carr out of
Las Vegas. They don't know who they're gonna run at quarterback. Now,
they got a couple guys and.

They probably Tom Brady at right quarterback.

I mean like, like, so, so there's no quarterback there
in Las Vegas, so why would he want to stay there?
This all makes total sense, and he had so much
success with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. Do I mean
that this is gonna this puts them over the top. No,
there's no magical elixa for this team with his franchise.
But Kelvin, you add a talent like that, you can't

tell me it's not gonna make the other pieces parts
even better.

I think it makes them a wee bit better. I
think it makes them a little bit better. I don't
think all of a sudden puts them over the top
end now they're better than the Bills, or they're better
than some other teams in the AFC. I think it
just adds a little bit of a familiarity, which Aaron
Rodgers seems to love. I mean, my goodness, he is
definitely you know how you want to go into. I'm
gonna start clean. I want to start fresh. I want
a new environment. I want to build onto something. Aaron

Rodgers said, give me the same thing, just in a
different location. Give me the same receivers I had, Give
me the same offensive coordinator I had. He wants it
all in the same place, just in the big apples.
So listen, they went all in and they've literally given
him the case to the Kingdom, which again I've never
had a problem with as much as saying this is
what you're doing. I hope it works because now there's

really no built in excuses anymore. If Robert Salah was excuse,
he's gone. If you know you wanted your own offensive coordinator,
Nathaniel Hackett, obviously he was there for a couple of
years and now he is in a demoted position, but
he's there. You wanted this receiver, you got him. You
wanted that receiver, you got him. Now you want Devonte Adams,
you got him. So I think this there's no more

excuses for Aaron Rodgers, really for Devonte Adams too. You're
with now your second hand picked quarterback. So go out there, ball,
make it happen, and get this offense back going, which
is like in the lower twenties right now, offense looks bad,
looks stagnant.

they're getting so many offensive penalties, false starts, Receivers aren't

the fly while they keep also changing things.

playing making calls, a new interim coach, trying to figure

Now we got Devonte Adams, so it just seems like
they're like a hamster in the wield, just spinning, spinning,
spinning space.

The teams that have the same thing, the Dallas Cowboys
have the same stuff in place.

to twenty twenty one. Adams average one hundred and nineteen receptions,
roughly one four hundred and sixty three yards and fourteen

he left Green Bay, it was like Green Bay, Las Vegas,
the Hall of Fame, and.

some in that tank. I still think he can be
very productive. With Aaron Rodgers, I just don't think that's

if we had a Vanta Adams, we're good to go.
I don't think I gotta think they gotta keep running the.

Ball more they got to keep protecting Aaron because Aaron
is not mobile as he used to be, and he
is not the same guy when under pressure, and so
you got to make sure you're protecting him.

My only trepidation is he left Aaron Rodgers and put
himself in a similar situation.

I say similar about the uncertainty at the position, not

not seen that Aaron Rodgers, nor has he thrown for

situation he's in with at Oakland ninety four counterpack, right,

and so going to a Jets team that they may
have Aaron Rodgers for the rest of this year, but
that's it. But once again he will be placed in
a situation where he's on the outside looking out at
the neighbors grass like, hey, maybe I'll jump over there.
For me, I thought Buffalo would be the perfect spot
for him. We know Josh Allen isn't going anywhere for

at least a decade, so they definitely need to help
over there. He could have been featured, So for me,
it made sense in that way. But I get the
friendship angle, but that's what got him in a situation
in Oakland. He wanted to go play with his quote friend,

I was just gonna say, sometimes being with your buddy

One of the other hidden things I think now that
they got Davante and they fire Robert Salad kind of
taking all the headlines, is that they aren't really a

false starts, guys roughing the passer calls, guys aren't running
routes in the right time. So as much as yeah,
we got devond Adams, they're not doing the extras and

those the little things to be a good team.

Yeah, So that game was hard to watch last night.
I was excited to see what the new Jets were
going to look like without Robert Sala. Well, they didn't
look any better. Of course, breist Hall got more involved
in the game plan, it felt, and it seemed like
at certain points in that time in the game, during
the game that Aaron Rodgers so more comfortable, except when
receivers didn't run the right round, or they dropped the pass,

or the timing was off. But the thing that you
hit it, Kelvin, The inexcusable thing is the penalties. At
one point, I believe it was six seven penalties in
the row had like, I don't care who the coach
is or who the quarterback is. If you continually put
yourselves in holes or allowed teams to extend drives, then

you're going to be a terrible team. I don't care
who's throwing the ball, who's catching the ball, and what
route is being ran. It can't happen. They should. That's
what they need to focus on, all right. They obviously
have the talent there, but they need to focus on
the little things. Okay, if it's first and ten, it's
a lot easier to get a first down when it's

not first in twenty, first and fifteen. That's just numbers
to clean that aspect up. Or it's going to be
a long season.

Are you surprised or not surprised that the stealers are
making a change at quarterback. I mean, all indications are
if some practice goes right and everything, that Russell Wilson
will be the start.

I'm a little surprised. I thought Justin Fields gave them
a spark. Uh, he's not turning the ball over. But look,
I get it. You feel like you have a team
that can compete defensively one of the top teams in
the league. You know they can run the ball, so
you feel like, even though they haven't offensively, reached their

full potential in terms of what you feel as a
head coach and as a staff, you're like, Okay, we
don't want to miss out plugging Russell's and and and
it's getting better.

Give it a chance.

You don't want to get to week nine, week ten
and then be like, oh, okay, let's try to hurry up,
uh and and and write the ship like we've seen
them do the last couple of years, just squeaking in
over five hundred. So it's a lot of pressure on
Mike Tumblin to have an all pro quarterback sitting on
the bench and your offense not quite clicking like it should.

So I can see him wanting to make a change
just to see what it looks like, just to give
it a taste, to see what it looks like. And
if Russell goes out there Sunday and has a tremendous game,
then that question has been answered.

I mean, you're right, justin Fields didn't turn the ball
over like he was in Chicago. Turnover machine. But he
also didn't light it up.

So the Dodgers, as you guys know, lost Game two
in the NLCS to the Mets yesterday, But interestingly enough,
another headline emerged from that game, and that's because in
the fifth inning, when they were down by six runs,
a snake showed up in their dugout, not like a
like a fake snake or a prop snake, but a
legitimate reptile swimming.

Through their dugout. What yah?

And in fact, after the snake showed up, the Dodgers
rolled off three runs, They're like, hey, this might be
a rally snake d up being to be in the case,
guys are still a little bit uncomfortable. So it got
me thinking if that was you in that situation, would
you been able to function, much less play in a
high leverage baseball game with a snake at your feet?
And if not, what's something else that you might have

It was a good game. Aaron Rodgers looked good. He
did almost had three hundred yards, the receiver, wrong route,

had a good shot to win that game. But they
played way better. We could admit that. And then they
went out today and you know what, Kelvin, they did
the right thing. You go all in. You got a
forty year old quarterback. There's no five year plan. You're
not trying to wait till next year or down the road,

or Aaron Rodgers might not even play next year.

You're not out of it. The season is still there.

It would have been great had they won, they would
have been tied for first right at three and three. Instead,
they're two and four, a lot of games left to play,
and they feel like, why not, Let's go for it.
I applaud the Jets and ownership to just say, we've
already hitched ourselves to a forty year old quarterback. We
got to give him everything anything he needs. And for

Devonte Adams, I don't blame him. You know he went
there for Derek carrs because college quarterback that blew up
in his face when they jettison Derek Carr out of
Las Vegas. They don't know who they're gonna run at quarterback. Now,
they got a couple guys and.

They probably Tom Brady at right quarterback.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
I mean like, like, so, so there's no quarterback there
in Las Vegas, so why would he want to stay there?
This all makes total sense, and he had so much
success with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. Do I mean
that this is gonna this puts them over the top. No,
there's no magical elixa for this team with his franchise.
But Kelvin, you add a talent like that, you can't

tell me it's not gonna make the other pieces parts
even better.

I think it makes them a wee bit better. I
think it makes them a little bit better. I don't
think all of a sudden puts them over the top
end now they're better than the Bills, or they're better
than some other teams in the AFC. I think it
just adds a little bit of a familiarity, which Aaron
Rodgers seems to love. I mean, my goodness, he is
definitely you know how you want to go into. I'm
gonna start clean. I want to start fresh. I want
a new environment. I want to build onto something. Aaron
(05:37):
Rodgers said, give me the same thing, just in a
different location. Give me the same receivers I had, Give
me the same offensive coordinator I had. He wants it
all in the same place, just in the big apples.
So listen, they went all in and they've literally given
him the case to the Kingdom, which again I've never
had a problem with as much as saying this is
what you're doing. I hope it works because now there's

really no built in excuses anymore. If Robert Salah was excuse,
he's gone. If you know you wanted your own offensive coordinator,
Nathaniel Hackett, obviously he was there for a couple of
years and now he is in a demoted position, but
he's there. You wanted this receiver, you got him. You
wanted that receiver, you got him. Now you want Devonte Adams,
you got him. So I think this there's no more
(06:20):
excuses for Aaron Rodgers, really for Devonte Adams too. You're
with now your second hand picked quarterback. So go out there, ball,
make it happen, and get this offense back going, which
is like in the lower twenties right now, offense looks bad,
looks stagnant.

Came alive a little bit last night, almost do for
three hundred yards last night.

Yeah, but defense, they're still making something's off rob Like
they're getting so many offensive penalties, false starts, Receivers aren't
in the right place. It's like something's off here, and
they're not built right now based off an identity or
coach like this is who we are, this is what
we do, and They're trying to figure that out on
the fly while they keep also changing things.

We're trying to figure out who we are, trying to
figure out who we are. New coach, trying to figure
out who we are, trying to figure new offensive person
playing making calls, a new interim coach, trying to figure
out who we are, trying to figure out who we are.
Now we got Devonte Adams, so it just seems like
they're like a hamster in the wield, just spinning, spinning,
spinning space.

The teams that have the same thing, the Dallas Cowboys
have the same stuff in place.

I don't want to be like Dallas. I'm just saying
I'm trying to be like Kansas. They have this sam
stuff from place, and it doesn't mean that you're gonna
win because it's the same as what I'm saying. Sometimes
you need to make changes if things aren't working, and
obviously it wasn't working where they are.

The last four years together in Green Bay, it's eighteen
to twenty twenty one. Adams average one hundred and nineteen receptions,
roughly one four hundred and sixty three yards and fourteen
and a half touchdowns per season. I mean like when
he left Green Bay, it was like Green Bay, Las Vegas,
the Hall of Fame, and.

Now are we going there? I'm not positive or it's not.
He's another year too, you know what I mean. He
was going there from with those numbers in Green Bay.

That's why I wanted Aiden Hutchinson because those guys, no
matter who's on the team, no matter who's making the calls,
they can produce.

Devanta Adams, he's a couple of years removed, like you said,
from from the great Devanta Adams. I think there's still
some in that tank. I still think he can be
very productive. With Aaron Rodgers, I just don't think that's
quite the issue. I don't think it was singularly just man,
if we had a Vanta Adams, we're good to go.
I don't think I gotta think they gotta keep running the.

Ball more they got to keep protecting Aaron because Aaron
is not mobile as he used to be, and he
is not the same guy when under pressure, and so
you got to make sure you're protecting him.

and so going to a Jets team that they may
have Aaron Rodgers for the rest of this year, but
that's it. But once again he will be placed in
a situation where he's on the outside looking out at
the neighbors grass like, hey, maybe I'll jump over there.
For me, I thought Buffalo would be the perfect spot
for him. We know Josh Allen isn't going anywhere for

at least a decade, so they definitely need to help
over there. He could have been featured, So for me,
it made sense in that way. But I get the
friendship angle, but that's what got him in a situation
in Oakland. He wanted to go play with his quote friend,

we got devond Adams, they're not doing the extras and

I was excited to see what the new Jets were
going to look like without Robert Sala. Well, they didn't

the game that Aaron Rodgers so more comfortable, except when
receivers didn't run the right round, or they dropped the pass,

or the timing was off. But the thing that you
hit it, Kelvin, The inexcusable thing is the penalties. At
one point, I believe it was six seven penalties in
the row had like, I don't care who the coach
is or who the quarterback is. If you continually put
yourselves in holes or allowed teams to extend drives, then

you're going to be a terrible team. I don't care
who's throwing the ball, who's catching the ball, and what
route is being ran. It can't happen. They should. That's
what they need to focus on, all right. They obviously
have the talent there, but they need to focus on
the little things. Okay, if it's first and ten, it's
a lot easier to get a first down when it's

not first in twenty, first and fifteen. That's just numbers
to clean that aspect up. Or it's going to be
a long season.

making a change at quarterback. I mean, all indications are
if some practice goes right and everything, that Russell Wilson
will be the start.

I'm a little surprised. I thought Justin Fields gave them
a spark. Uh, he's not turning the ball over. But look,
I get it. You feel like you have a team
that can compete defensively one of the top teams in

you feel like, even though they haven't offensively, reached their

full potential in terms of what you feel as a
head coach and as a staff, you're like, Okay, we
don't want to miss out plugging Russell's and and and
it's getting better.

You don't want to get to week nine, week ten
and then be like, oh, okay, let's try to hurry up,
uh and and and write the ship like we've seen
them do the last couple of years, just squeaking in

the bench and your offense not quite clicking like it should.

So I can see him wanting to make a change
just to see what it looks like, just to give
it a taste, to see what it looks like. And
if Russell goes out there Sunday and has a tremendous game,
then that question has been answered.

over like he was in Chicago. Turnover machine. But he

of the star players throughout this this postseason have not
shown up in the ways of what you inspect him to.

And it seems like every team has that star player.

You're like, uh, you all right, you know it was
we obviously Mookie bets re quite some time even showing
show hey right now with no one on what people
are on, he's good.

So it's interesting speaking up by the way, speaking of
baseball and Dodgers and whatnot, Rob g jump on ot here, brother.

So the Dodgers, as you guys know, lost Game two
in the NLCS to the Mets yesterday, But interestingly enough,
another headline emerged from that game, and that's because in
the fifth inning, when they were down by six runs,
a snake showed up in their dugout, not like a
like a fake snake or a prop snake, but a
legitimate reptile swimming.
Speaker 5 (34:25):
Through their dugout. What yah?
Speaker 8 (34:27):
And in fact, after the snake showed up, the Dodgers
rolled off three runs, They're like, hey, this might be
a rally snake d up being to be in the case,
guys are still a little bit uncomfortable. So it got
me thinking if that was you in that situation, would
you been able to function, much less play in a
high leverage baseball game with a snake at your feet?
And if not, what's something else that you might have

an irrational fear about?

Yeah, and what if it was a bat? Rock Parker, No, well,

Mine mine would be not really a thing like I mean,
obviously if it freaking Anda Conda was in here or something.

But heights, I fly, I go up the tall buildings.
But it's one of those Yeah, this is beautiful, baby,
I love it. But like I'm like, I've been on
stone Table Mountain in South Africa, which is I've been
on a lot of different things, but heights for me, man,
I get.
Speaker 5 (35:58):
A little get a little queasy. Gee, what do you got?
Speaker 8 (36:01):
I'm afraid of heights and which doesn't make any sense
because I've done a lot of things. That's aquire at
high same here and also you're close to the ground exactly.
