Speaker 5 (02:29):
All good?

Speaker 3 (02:30):
All ready to go? A big show. A lot of
life happening. And of course there's a Thursday night football game.
We got Buffalo and Miami Division rivals.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
And big news in baseball.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Yeah news.

Speaker 5 (02:47):
Yeah, Clinton kershaw quit?

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Now why you why did he play that sound? What
is he trying to say? You know what I mean,
he's giving up home runs?

Speaker 5 (02:55):
Just a baseball sound. There's no baseball sound for a picture,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
I'm just making swinging a miss, struck out you're around
something like that.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
You know what I'm saying, Look at that, you're already
trying to rip on Kershaw and all that.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Now, I've just I thought he had the jokes. Thought
he was saying.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Alex is not that kind of guy. He wouldn't do that,
all right, Yes, let's he said. He said, he said,
you were making fun of Kershaw by having a crack.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
Of the bat. Oh yeah, way too long. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
See see I knew it.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
That's not what peop don't know when to let it go.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Ron, You're right about that, especially in the media, as
a lot of people just.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
Rob, don't start it.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
Just hanging on.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
That's that is Rob's favorite pastime. It's just sit here
and tap me on the shoulder and point to the TV.
And I look up and it's somebody on the TV
that is like, what's what's the maximum?

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Robins? Seventy eight and up? Seventy five and up?

Speaker 5 (03:44):
What is this?

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Is it based off how you look?

Speaker 3 (03:47):
If you look like George Washington with wooden teeth, you
probably shouldn't still be on.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
I'm just saying, Alex, that's his favorite past time.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
He'll be like, yo, look up, I'm like, what what
did he judge a home run?

Speaker 4 (03:57):
And I look up and it's somebody.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
That's like not be like, no, it's Cody Bellinger. So Cody,
never mind, we're not paying attention. All right, let's welcome
in the odd couple crew, because we wouldn't be able
to do this fine radio program without him.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
Rob G is our producer. Rob Mexican is there. It
is Bud Mexican.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Alex Alex is our Alex is our engineer. Martin Weiss
is at the anchor desk. He'll keep us updated throughout
the program. And of course Elijah never heard of him.
Elijah is our social media Google who that's right. So

(04:43):
we got a full house. We're ready to roll, a
lot of stuff going on, and let's get it kicked off.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
Rob G.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
We talked about the Monday Night Football and there was
a conversation with Josh Allen, of course the reigning MVP
in the National Football League UH, and he we had
some comments that were very interested.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Yes.

Speaker 7 (05:02):
So for the last few years now, it seems like
every off season or at the conclusion of every regular season,
the conversation to Josh Allen the Buffalo Bills is always
is this the year is this the year you're gonna
finally break through. You can finally get in that super Bow.
You've been knocking on the door for so long. You're
finally gonna get there.

Speaker 8 (05:19):
Right.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
So a reporter asked him about it earlier.

Speaker 7 (05:23):
This week once again, and this time, apparently, according to ESPN,
Josh Allen seemed exasperated because he rolled his eyes and
then he said, uh, I think if I knew how
to get over that hump, we've ever gotten over that
hump already. And then later on they're discussing his whole,
you know, reception in Buffalo and his mindset. Everyone's talking about.

(05:44):
He's more at ease, he's more comfortable, he just got married.
His perspective on life has totally changed. And he said
something that got Rob Parker's panties all in a bunch,
double bunch. Here's what he said, talking with double bunches.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
But we won't go there.

Speaker 7 (06:00):
My life away from football has changed its perspective on things.
Here we go quote. It's never been a goal of
mine to win the MVP. If anything's been to win
the Super Bowl MVP. I think it's the better of
the two awards anyway, Make no mistake It's a cool honor.
Really do appreciate it. But it doesn't change my life,
doesn't change you. I am, and to that point, it
probably when he was a super Bowl wouldn't change you. I
am or to find my life either. But it is

(06:21):
something that city's wanted for a long time, and it
feel like I can help be a piece that brings
it here. Something it's very important. Excuse me, It's more
important to me than a singular trophy.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
There was one right answer, and he gave the wrong one,
playing a simple what was that?

Speaker 5 (06:38):
Of course, I want to win a super Bowl for
the city.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
No one's just saying it's going to change you and
you're gonna be some different person and turn into something
this or that.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
It's such an easy answer.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Hey, this is a great football town, Buffalo, man, they
had great teams back in the nineties, couldn't get there.
More than anything I ever want to do, I would
love to win a championship for the city. All the
other stuff about him and changing him, and I'm happy
to win the MVP. Nobody really, no, most people would

(07:10):
tell you this is why you play. Okay, we talk
about it all the time, all the accolades.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
If Aaron Judge wins another MVP.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
None of it. None of it? Okay, Aaron Judge knows
what does he want to do? Kelvin, he wants to
win the World Series for the Yankees, right. I just
think that's an easy answer, and I think that was
the easy answer in that case, is to just forget about.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
This isn't about me.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
How about if you're a fan and you were listening
and that question was asked and he said, dude, this
isn't about me. This is about this great city of
Buffalo and this storied football tradition in the National Football League,
and the idea that I'm here and I have a
chance to try to finally get this city to where

(07:56):
it belongs or give it a memory that they'll never
forget yet, Like that's all people want to hear about.
Nobody's trying to say you're gonna oh, it's not gonna
change me if I well, because basically, you know what
that sounds like. It's kind of like a cop out, like, well,
I don't have to win one to be this or that.
I don't think Charles Barkley played his NBA career with

(08:18):
the idea of, well, you know, I don't.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
I don't have to win. He wanted to win.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
I think everybody wants to win, and so I just
when I heard that, it just sounded like a cop
out to me, like a well, you know, whether I
win or I don't win, I'm not gonna be a
different person.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
Okay, thanks, thanks for coming.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Yeah. So here's where I push back and get your
sentiment right. Just yo, I'm doing this for Buffalo. Always
love football, love the city. I mean the word, I
get that. A couple of things happen here, in my opinion,
Number one, starting with the obvious.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
To Robgi's point, he's tired of it.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Probably Lamar Jackson's probably given it another two years or so,
justin Herbert will be tired of when are you gonna win?
When are you gonna break through? So I think we
initially heard the fatigue of that question, because I don't
think anyone asks themselves that question more than he asked himself.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
But here's where I'm gonna break it down a little
bit further.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
So you were talking about, you know, it's showing that
you want to do it, showing that you're all in
and telling them that. Well, I think he has shown
the city of Buffalo that with this play, the man
literally is the team. No, it is exactly all him.
He does everything for that team. He dives over the place,
he's jumping over stuff, he's putting his way, body in

(09:30):
harms way, he's playing through injuries. I mean, he couldn't
get any tougher in how he plays for the city,
a tough city of Buffalo. So I think the fans
actually hear that and they are okay with it. And
the standpoint of you could sell me a bunch of
woof tickets, Gee Gotti, schucks, I'm trying. I'm out here,
but then maybe not play that way. But I think
they get to see him night and night out every Sunday,
every Thursday, every Monday, and he's playing all out, so

(09:53):
they don't question that from their leader.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
And I think that's a good thing with the fans. Now.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
I think what we heard was approach. He just got married,
he's obviously a little older than he was when he
first got it, and I think he's answering it from
a broader approach of life, meaning I play so wound
up and tight. I've been thinking that's all I think
about it, and I can't and It's probably been part
of why he feels let me just go out, and
he talked about it further Ragi in it. He said,

(10:20):
let me just go out and play and play my
absolute hardest, but let the chips fall where they may.
I can't be so high strung where I'm thinking of
every single play, every single pass. And I think he's
talk about approach. And I had Robert or talk about this.
He wanted the more clutch shooters of all time, as
we know, big shot Bob, and he talked about, Man,
everybody always asked me, what happens, what goes dos your mind?

(10:40):
He said, Man, I just let that thing fly. Because
his point was similar to what Josh said. He said, Man,
I absolutely want to make it. I want to win
this big game. He said, But man, if I miss it,
I'm still me. I'm still the same player. I still
wanted to take the shot. I just missed it, and
I'm you know, and what life's going to go on?
And I think Josh is too. Thanks for breaking news.

(11:01):
Life is going to go on whether you win or not.
Ain't breaking news. But it's an approach. Rob Some people
play too tight, and you see that we.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
All not nobody's asking him about playing too tight and
just the idea for him to honestly say that nothing
would change if he won a super Bowl. Do you
really believe that if he won a super Bowl and
that's what his life wasn't change?

Speaker 5 (11:22):
His life doesn't Does his life change?

Speaker 3 (11:24):
I'm asking you, does his life change if he wins
a super Bowl?

Speaker 5 (11:29):
He says, he said it wouldn't change. So that's why what.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
I'm saying, he's trying to answer philosophically from a humanistic standpoint,
not talking ball.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Come on, man, nobody's talking about your wife and your
family and the existence of life. It's about football. It's
about winning. It's why you play. That's all I'm saying.
Nobody's asking him to be a philosopher. No, that's not
what we're asking you about. What is the essence of life?
What will happen to the atmosphere if you win a

(11:58):
super Bowl?

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Well?

Speaker 5 (12:00):
Sky turned black? Will it be sunny for the next
forty years?

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Nobody's asking him that it's just about winning and winning
a super Bowl, which is the reason you play.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
That's all.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
It's a simple and that's why I say there's one answer,
and he answered it wrong.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
And that's why I would disagree, because I think for him,
what he's realizing is separating what truly matters in his
life may help him on the field, is opposed to
having his priorities and not being so high strung. That's
what I gathered from that, saying, Man, let me go
out there and ball out and do what I do
and understand that I don't have to be like my
life is over because I didn't win.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
And I think he's trying.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
He's separating the two and that's why he's getting to
this place in his life and his career. But I
never you can't watch him if you're a Buffalo Bills
fan every single play and never question does he out there.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
Getting Nobody says that that it wasn't a question about effort,
it was about winning.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
It's a big difference that nobody has answer.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
If I had no answers to it, sess, then I would.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
That's how it works.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
If I already what's it gonna take to win? What's
it gonna take to win? Oh, it's gonna table he.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
I'm going out there.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
I'm trying to win every year, and none of y'all
think I'm not so How can I answer, what's it
gonna take to win this year?

Speaker 4 (13:15):
I don't know me doing it. I'm doing the same thing.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
I'm trying every week every year, and eventually, like he said,
we're gonna crack that thing. If we'll crack it this year,
we're gonna crack it next year. What else can he say? Well,
I'm gonna go out there and give it my best player.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
We clearly see that.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven
nine nine, six sixty three sixty nine. Did you have
a problem with Josh Allen almost downplaying the idea of
winning a Super Bowl like it wouldn't change his life

Josh Allen answered some questions about winning a Super Bowl
what it means to him, would it changed things?

Speaker 4 (15:58):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. We'll take some
calls on it. What do we.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
Got, Marty on Long Island?

Speaker 3 (16:05):
You're in the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio, as
we call it in New York, Strong Island.

Speaker 5 (16:10):
How are you, Marley?

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Hey?

Speaker 11 (16:13):
What's going on?

Speaker 9 (16:13):
Rob Calvin, big fans, thank you for very much. I
pretty much just tuned.

Speaker 8 (16:18):
Into the show and I heard this, and honestly, I
was absolutely.

Speaker 9 (16:21):
Shocked that Josh Allen would say something like that because
I'm a big fan between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson,
and the biggest difference is was when Lamar Jackson got
drafted and Dean put that mic in he said, you're
going to get a Super Bowl out of me and
right there, I think that's just a huge difference between
Josh Allen and Lamar. And you know, because Lamar I
just wants to win more.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
I just it's okay to talk about wanting to win,
whether you win or not, it's okay, but to act
like it is not going to change your life by
being a super Bowl winning quarterback. You could go talk
to Dan marina on about all how much everybody loves
him and how great of a throw of the football.
He Well, you could ask him about winning a super

(17:02):
Bowl and how big that would be in your life.
That's all I'm not saying. I don't have any issue
with Josh Allen and his effort. I just thought there
was a better answer he could have given, and that
could have been easy.

Speaker 5 (17:12):
That's all.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
I just, yeah, I hear you.

Speaker 5 (17:14):
I don't want an issue with him.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
No. My challenge with that. I just think he's asked
the question one hundred times.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
That's what That's what happens when you're in the pro
and absolute quarterback, That's what that asked you every day
when you lose a game, what happened? What happened on
that interception? Why did you make a terrible throw. They
asked you the same questions exactly and you have to
answer them, and you do.

Speaker 5 (17:40):
And my point is, I don't know what's so strange.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
And it's not that's strange about it's what also isn't
strange is every now and again, said player set star,
any sport is going to answer a question that you
might like, Oh, maybe could have answered it differently, or
I would have said it like that. I care more
about also, how are you playing? Because I know plenty
of people sell me Wolf tickets.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
I'm I'm I'm and I don't.

Speaker 5 (18:02):
Give me, give me one on you give me one.
Who told me that.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
There are plenty of me one?

Speaker 5 (18:07):
Just give me, give you one.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Russell Wilson will give me the most.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
I'm not I'm not questioning how.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
I'm saying that there are times where Russell Wilson will
give you the most cliche and you might not then
turn and see what's going on the team. He might
tell you the team is doing this, we're playing hard work,
and then it doesn't.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
Results aren't necessarily there.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
I'm saying, I want to see my guy out there,
and Josh Allen may not be a better example of
a guy who lays it on the line week in
week out. He is is the franchise singularly is the franchise?

Speaker 5 (18:38):
And I don't don't answer the question.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
So if he answered the question where he's kind of
making it more philosophical, it's not the end of the world,
is what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Okay, Johnny in Minnesota, you're on the YDD couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (18:50):
What's up, Johnny, Rob?

Speaker 8 (18:53):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (18:55):
Man?

Speaker 11 (18:57):
I believe Rob because it can't get you can't be like,
hey man, when this ain't nothing, What do you mean
that ain't nothing? You know what I'm saying. I just
first time in that franchise's history that they got something
for him, and he's gonna be like I ought to
say nothing. I need something else.

Speaker 5 (19:14):
I just thought he's good.

Speaker 11 (19:15):
He's a good, very excellent player. So I gotta say
I'll hang up.

Speaker 5 (19:18):
And there's no doubt. Appreciate it, Johnny, thank you. I'm
not even argued about his effort or his play.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
I'm just saying there was a right answer that people
just want to hear. And I know it's cliche, and
I know they keep asking you. That's just a part
of your job and there's a way of answering stuff
that's simple, and you endear yourself to people listening, who go, Man,
that dude really wants to win for us, and he
gives his effort and that's great to hear. I love
to hear that. All Right, Uh, Drew in New Jersey,

(19:48):
you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (19:49):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (19:50):
Drew?

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Up?

Speaker 6 (19:51):
Drew?

Speaker 8 (19:52):
I don't agree with what he said, but I don't
think the Bills fans can be angry because if you look,
there's been no better quarterback come the postseason than Josh Allen.

Speaker 5 (20:02):
No, I disagree with Jim Kelly. Who would you rather
Jim Kelly?

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Jim Kelly, I'm talking about actis no what I'm talking about.
In Buffalo, they watched Jim Kelly get to the Super
Bowl four times.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
You're saying the actives.

Speaker 8 (20:15):
No, there's no player active quarterback that you could argue
with have an argument other than Patrick Mahomes come to
play come the playoffs, that's played better. If you count
the running, you count everything. There's no question the only
reason why they're in any game is because of Josh Allen.

Speaker 5 (20:31):
Well, how come they haven't won? Then? So so he's the.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
No no, no, no no, he's a reason they're there. But
and but he's not the reason that they didn't win.

Speaker 9 (20:40):
So I mean thirteen seconds.

Speaker 5 (20:42):
I'm asking you off.

Speaker 8 (20:43):
For thirteen seconds. Can you hold somebody off for thirteen seconds?
If I play an A plus game, there ain't no
question that game was not on Josh. And there's plenty
of games that have not been on Josh and the.

Speaker 5 (20:55):
Game he's been flawless.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
He's never turned the ball over, never throw any interceptions,
nothing one.

Speaker 8 (21:00):
He's a one oh one. Come to flay Lamar Jackson's
an eighty four point six passer rating.

Speaker 5 (21:06):
Okay, and guess what. Guess what? Neither one has been
to the Super Bowl? How's that that is true?

Speaker 8 (21:15):
You can make an argument for Safford because Stafford has
like a one oh three. He's clutched two.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Okay, Stafford, he's been playing very very well with the Rams.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Just that the lucky season.

Speaker 5 (21:25):
The interception he threw got dropped.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
If you know, I thought we can't do that, Rob,
I thought we can't do it. Would have could it?
Because Aaron Rodgers would have threw in it. But it
doesn't matica don't do that don't do that. He don't
mess around and won the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
Rob Mike Sando on the way where it talk to

(23:02):
two weeks before Aspiration was due to make a payment

What's happening?

Speaker 6 (23:53):
Hey? Not too much?

Speaker 5 (23:54):
How you guys doing doing great?

Speaker 4 (23:56):
Doing great? On his TV themes on Thursday, Rob you
want to go, you want to be you go ahead? Yeah,
we do. U sh op in here.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
You can put a button on the conversation with Just
Happening about Josh Ally Uh. Obviously he and Lamar to
me are always going to be leaked into one of
them actually wins. But what do you make of just
the concept of him saying me, winning one won't change
my life? And you know I'm trying to win. If
I'll have next year to win and then I'll have
the next year of that if I don't, what do.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
You ask Sam Marino about next year?

Speaker 11 (24:22):
That?

Speaker 6 (24:23):
Yeah, yeah, I think once he wins it all, which
he probably will at some point, you know, then he'll
be honest about how much it means to.

Speaker 5 (24:30):
Him, thank you, because it's not an honestan.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
So, Mike, I don't know how you play in the
NFL and act like winning the super Bowl isn't important
or isn't big to you.

Speaker 6 (24:40):
Yeah, I think it is important to him, you know.
I think what he doesn't want is like he's tired
of probably answering questions about it and making it bigger
than it needs to be. It's big, but it's not.
You know. I don't believe that he's just an unhappy
person because he hasn't won one yet. But I think
it'll be great when he does. I think he really
wants it, you know, and like I said, I think

(25:00):
he'll probably get one.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
Let's talk about Lamar on that offense.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
I mean, I know they blew Game one to Josh
Allen and the Bills, but just scoring like forty points,
I don't know, can they score fifty a game?

Speaker 4 (25:11):
Like?

Speaker 5 (25:11):
It just seems like a video game.

Speaker 6 (25:15):
Yeah, I think they're really good. It's funny, you know.
Obviously Lamar Jackson is really good. But the combination of
him and Derrick Henry is just very difficult to solve,
very difficult, because Lamar can pass, he's a great runner,
you know, and then you got the best, probably the
most different back in the league. Right, there's nobody really
like Derrick Henry. So yeah, I love what they're all about,

(25:36):
and they just got to do it, like I said,
when it matters for them too. It's almost like for
the Bills and the Ravens. You know, the regular season
is nice, but we're sort of waiting until they get
to the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (25:47):
Right.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
Let me ask you this, Lamar just passed Aaron Rodgers
with the best quarterback waiting in the history of the NFL.
And you know, Bill Polian and people were telling them
you should try out for wide receiver and not.

Speaker 5 (26:00):
Be a he can't throw the football and all this
other stuff.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
I just see a guy who's gotten better and better
every year throwing a football.

Speaker 5 (26:08):
The numbers are ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
Mike is what is it, fifty seven touchdown in his
last twenty games. I think fifty seven touchdown, four interceptions,
three of them hit receivers hands.

Speaker 5 (26:22):
I've never seen anything like.

Speaker 6 (26:25):
Yeah, he's off the charge. There's no doubt he's gotten better.
You know, I feel like his him coming into the league.
You know, there was truth that you needed to have
run an offense built around his running for him to
succeed early. And they did that. They did a great job.
And then he's come along with the passing component of
it and become really good at it. So the nicest
thing about this to me is like, since he did

(26:47):
his new contract, I feel like they've gotten the best
of them. And I feel like like before that, it
was sort of wavering, like he was not happy, he
was missing games at the end of the year. It
felt a little rocky. And now he's just like put
on stuff to the side, and he just seems completely
dialed in and just mature.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
You know.

Speaker 6 (27:07):
I just really like everything I see see about him.
So there's no question, Well.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
He's must see TV.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
To me on Sunday, got out of given he's the
best version of Michael Vick. We got here, Mike said
to our guest Rice again, the NFL pick six colin
for the athletic Mike, let me ask you this, Uh,
we talk about obviously justified, so maybe we don't even
talk about him enough. You got the Eagles we'll talk
about the Chiefs, we'll talk about Lamar and Josh and
Packers now, but we don't talk about the Rams a

(27:34):
little bit. And they're one of those sleeper teams that
a lot of people are saying, don't don't sleep on them,
don't sleep.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
Getting to the NFC Championship. How good are they?

Speaker 1 (27:43):
They obviously have great head coach, They got Matthew Stafford,
and that defense is very, very good.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
What do you make of the Rams so far?

Speaker 6 (27:51):
You know, I think they've been put an asteris on
just because of you know, Matthew Stafford missing much time
in camp and having a back injury and people saying, well,
you know, that's not good and if he goes down,
they're not the same team, which is true. So for them,
it's just a matter of him being healthy the whole year.
I think when he is, they can beat anybody. They
can run with anyone. You know, they had a great,
high scoring game last year I think with Buffalo, and

(28:13):
then they took Philly down to the wire. You know,
really in the championship game had him, they were down
to the thirteen yard line with a minute and a
half left. Touchdown probably you know, wins the game for them,
So I do think that they're good. Their defenses has
been bad against the run. I mean, we're going to
find out this week. Saykon got two hundred plus yards
in each game twice last year against them. They're really

(28:34):
good rushing the passers. So you know, if they can
score and get ahead and turn the passergers lose, it's
a great formula for them. And in the NFC, you
got to lie, you know, they got a good chance
as almost anybody.

Speaker 5 (28:46):
How about you know, Packers are off to a great start.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
I mean I did pick them before the season started
to get to the Super Bowl because I thought the
lines were going to drop down losing their coordinators and
whatnot in that division. But what are you on the
Packers and how good they are?

Speaker 6 (29:04):
Very impressed. I think their roster is amazing. I think
it's really good. I don't know how they're always like
the youngest team in the league, and their talented they're
really good. So I think they've done a great job.
You know. I think, you know, going to get Parsons
shows that they felt like they're close. And it's funny,
you know, for as excited as they've been about Jordan
love like. I feel like the rest of their team
is pretty squared away, and now we're going to see

(29:25):
about his consistency over the course of the season, which
has been a little bit up and down. So I
like where they're at. I think they're a great, you know,
chance to be that up and coming team that maybe
makes it in.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
I want to go to one that we've said week one,
if you were in that area, you thought, Wow, my
Steelers are going to be amazing, and then after Week
two you make things differently.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
Where you come out on the Steelers is are they
more of Week one? Are they more of Week two?

Speaker 6 (29:51):
I think they're both tik They're going to be up
and down now. One of the weird things about them
is defensively, going back to the end of last season,
they really they've really struggles. That's unlike them. So if
that's the case, you know, if we're seeing something there
some cracks in the defense, I mean, that's just going
to make it hard to be as consistent because I
think Aaron Rodgers can still be really good, but you

(30:12):
need to take the pressure off of them. He can't
do it every play right, you know, week after a
week we're seeing Patrick Mahomes trying to do too much
right now, but he's young, you know, relatively, just had
and it's hard and like he can do it, but
like Rogers can't do it at this point. And I
believe also, I think Rogers has taken some hits in
the first two games. Both the Jets and the Seahawks

(30:33):
hit him. And then he's also he can still make
the amazing kind of wrist flick, side arm type throws,
but I'm seeing a few too many of those, and
a couple of those hitting the you know, being either
intercepted or dropped interceptions in the first two games. So
I think some of that, you know, they're going to
have to help him with the defense in the run
game or else. Some of those are going to be

(30:55):
interceptions and it's going to really even out.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
How about how many more games will Mike McDaniel be
head coach with the Dolphins? I mean any other I
don't talk about it is no way if if they
get blown out here and it's really ugly, where are
they going home?

Speaker 5 (31:12):
Dinner? Maybe a show?

Speaker 6 (31:14):
Well, yeah, I would like to see him, just like
I thought his post game last week. I didn't watched
the whole thing. But you know, the highlights that were
put out there just did not look like somebody who
was in complete command. You know. It was like the
and I want to see that it's being the head coach.
I want to see that command of it. So this
is a tough situation for them, and he's got to

(31:35):
be able to guie him out. And like you said,
they play Thursday, then the next game is Monday at home,
so you know, we can all know what sometimes that means.
I don't know where they're at, but I think if
if they did make a change, I would like to
see Anthony Weaver get a chance to do it because
he has interviewed a couple of places and was impressive
in that in those I know from just talking to

(31:56):
people that were involved in those interviews. So the question
I would have though, are you better without McDaniel because
he's so tied into the success of TUA and the offense,
so you know, maybe he's not doing you know, maybe
you want to move on from the head coach, but
would you just get worse on offense?

Speaker 3 (32:15):
It wasn't long ago they scored seventy points and he
was a genius, you know, I mean, like that wasn't
that long ago.

Speaker 5 (32:21):
It's crazy, Yeah, it really is.

Speaker 6 (32:23):
So life Cycle is their team. You know, they really
put a lot of money into that, but it feels
like they kind of missed their shot and now it's
you know, teetering.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Well, let me ask you this one. When this is
kind of a tie. Let's say they lose tonight, lose
another game, or to tying this in a little bit
to the Chiefs, how much longer before we see Tyrek
Hill start sending out cryptic tweets and messages again before
he tries to get back to Kansas City.

Speaker 6 (32:48):
Hey, it might be halftime at the game tonight, you know,
you never know. It could be that early, it could
be during the game. It's you know interesting. I don't
know if the Chiefs are going to do that because
they're going to get a couple of their guys back,
But it's a long time until that trade deadline closes.
And to me, if you're acquiring Tyreek Hill, there's not
a lot of teams that are going to do it.
I think he's a hard one to acquire and manage.

(33:10):
But Andy Reid knows all about that. He's done that,
and he's always he's always had a spot for guys,
whether it was Frank Clark or Tyreek Hill or Michael
the running back Kareem Hunt had some issues like Andy
Reid's hey, everyone's welcome.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
So well, last thing for me, the speaking of the
Chiefs ow and two start last year. I think they
were eleven to zero in one score games. They got
a lot of lucky breaks, a lot of things went
their way, and now already oh and two. In those
kind of games, things balance out a little bit. I
don't have them making the playoffs this year.

Speaker 6 (33:47):
Well, yeah, that's certainly possible now that they're owing too.
I think that you know, they've we've seen some decline
from them, but they were able to win the games
anyway through the magic of Mahomes. I think we've seen
the first couple of games this year they haven't been
able to do. And yeah, they're going to play the
Giants this week. They probably win, but they got Baltimore
on the other side. So I really think this is
they're close to being one and three, which would be

(34:08):
really quite a whole with you know, needing to get
probably those receivers back. But look, there's a reason why
she Rice wasn't picted earlier or theyvior Worthy wasn't picture
earlier availability is part of that, yep, and now they're
living that.

Speaker 4 (34:21):
Yeah, wait and see.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
I know they're going to be excited to get them back,
but they got to fight until they do.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
All right, Mike, we appreciate you, man, Thanks, thank you, brother,
thank you.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
I'll you'll do it, Sando NFL on ex go ahead

Speaker 4 (35:42):
Was that Donny Hathaway singing that.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
I think it was the greatest, one of the greatest singers.

Speaker 5 (35:48):
I think it is Donny Hathaway.

Speaker 3 (35:49):
Yeah, we can't overlook this, Okay, Yes, I'm looking at
the video for this.

Speaker 5 (35:54):
It says produced by Rod Parker. Is that your alias?

Speaker 6 (35:57):
There?

Speaker 5 (35:57):
You go, d Parker?

Speaker 3 (36:00):
But you know mart is the author of Calls from

Speaker 5 (36:05):
Yes, and guess who else was on that show?

Speaker 4 (36:07):
Somebody else want the Golden Girls.

Speaker 5 (36:09):
Rue McClanahan.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Blanche was on this show as the next door neighbor
to Dark to be author.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
So it was before the Golden Girls. So they were like,
what the like Silver Girls.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
No, it's funny, like if you look at it, be
author look old back then, and she was forty years old.
I'm just saying, even in that show she had the
white hair or whatever looking.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
Yeah, people look older back in the You go look
at like an NBA player from nineteen seventy two, he's
like twenty three, he looks forty eight.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
No, No, whats really if you go look and see
like Grady Lemon and Fred and Red Fox. What Fox
was in his forties and looked like he was in
his sixties. Yes, I know, any crazy he was in
his forties. Man, some was going on back then.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
People were come Morgan Freeman, look say Morgan Freeman looked
older and lean on.

Speaker 4 (36:54):
Me that he does now, Ye, that was like forty
some years ago.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
It is the Ya couple Robert Kelvin Ivy Steal on
a TV theme song Thursday.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
Right now it's time four Shekel City.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
Welcome to Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parkers
Day Dicks against the Sprat.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
Oh yeah, keep inching up two and one last night
up to fourteen and sixteen total, No need, no need
to reset. I got the Yankees minus one and a half.
They're in Baltimore taking on the Orioles, the Reds minus
one and a half. They're in Cincinnati hosting the Chicago Cubs,
and the Giants are in Los angle LEAs taking on

(37:37):
the Dodgers.

Speaker 5 (37:38):
Giants plus one and a half.

Speaker 3 (37:40):
So the Giants plus one and a half, Red's minus
one and a half and the Yankees minus one and
a half. And remember Calvin, what's that. I'm not telling
you who to bet on. I'm telling you who I
bet on. And right now the Yankees are up to
nothing in Baltimore. This, of course, was posted earlier on
social media.

Speaker 4 (38:00):
There you go. You're making a comeback, man, that's all
you know.

Speaker 5 (38:03):
Why you ain't making a comeback?

Speaker 4 (38:04):
Though? Hold on, hold on, we got played today.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Before you get all disrespectful, it is time now for
the Tirereck Player of the day.

Speaker 12 (38:11):
The pitch and he hits one high in the air
to deep RK Perez his back tratch.

Speaker 4 (38:17):
Up Wolf gone, He's done it again.

Speaker 12 (38:23):
Ho Sae Ramirez his thirty fifth home run lifetime against Detroit.

Speaker 4 (38:30):
Hey hey, hey, hey, hey, did anybody need to hear
all that? Guardians Radio on the call?

Speaker 3 (38:34):
That's Totam Hamilton, a Hall of Fame Baseball announcement.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
To Daggett, the Tigers ain't playing like Hall of Famous.
Right now, that is your tire You're tire raight. The
Player of the day, brought to you by tire Reck.
For for forty years, Tirerack has been helping customers find
the right tires for how, what and where they drive
shit fast and free. Back by Free Road has a
protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tire
rack dot Com The way tire bikes should be. What

(39:00):
you got to say about the Tigers, Rob.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
Hot, I'm going to tell you real quick that they're
following the path of the nineteen sixty four Phillies who
lost ten of their last twelve games and missed the playoffs,
dropped out.

Speaker 5 (39:14):
Now the Tigers have the luxury, got the wild card.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
No, they don't have the divention because now Cleveland is
within three and a half games Cleve and the last
nine games, six of those games for the Tigers are
on the road in Cleveland, three three are in Boston.
And the Tigers have lost ten of their last fifteen

(39:38):
here in the month of September. So it's a raggedy
finish and if they don't get it, if they don't
get it right.

Speaker 5 (39:44):
I was on mob Network today.

Speaker 4 (39:47):
I saw you.

Speaker 5 (39:48):
I'm tell right there.

Speaker 4 (39:49):
That shirt was a little loud, but I loved you
look good with the shirt and the blazer. I've seen you.
I've seen you.

Speaker 3 (39:53):
I've seen you. But I'm they're struggling right now. Kevin,
listen me, and you've been talking about it.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
How long?

Speaker 1 (39:57):
Probably three four weeks by the month Ugly. Yeah, Yeah,
we've been talking about they're struggling. It's funny the teams
that kind of early on in this season, or maybe
even before the season, you kind of looked at you
thought like the Tigers, maybe the Mets, maybe the Dodgers.
Few teams that you kind of thought, all right, he struggled.
Yankees as well. You thought there's a pupping up season
for them. They're in a struggle. Brus shout to Joe.
But the thing about it is, as you know, and

(40:19):
this goes for all teams that would make MLB postseason.
If you went in hot, you fix something, or you
just had something going good, you got a shot. And
that is what makes baseball fun is that you just
don't know. We thought the Dodgers were going to be
winning one hundred and ten to twelve games.

Speaker 4 (40:33):
That ain't the case, nor for the Tigers.

Speaker 5 (40:35):
I want to kiss you
