at least when people are actually listening to the radio auditor,
I say.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
That that's right.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
Write it down, committed to memory, eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox for you, layman, it's eight seven seven
nine nine six.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Sixty three sixty nine. It's not trigonometry, that's right.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
And if you hear feedback on the line at your
own fault, it means only one thing.
Speaker 6 (02:13):
You forgot to turn down the radio.
Speaker 3 (02:16):

your station. That's right, turn off your station.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
He is jovin Washington.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
What up?
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Man?
Speaker 3 (02:49):
How do you have worship? Well, you don't like it?
Speaker 5 (02:52):
I like that, right, you don't like it?
Speaker 1 (02:55):
What would you have done with Mike Circle, like nineteen
eighty seven and like, oh seven Mike Tyson.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
I was at Newsday in New York when Mike Tyson
got released from prison and walked the streets of Harlem
and people poured out of the bat What a scene
out of all the stuff that I've covered. And he
was like the pie piper, you know, like with the
trying to run the rats or the mice out of
the city, whatever it was, you know, but people streaming
(03:21):
walking down Frederick Douglass Boulevard following Mike Tyson.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
So it was incredible, the taste of soul. Four hundred
thousand people. It was just this past weekend. I didn't
go this year, but in twenty twenty two. Were out
there as a station, Spectrum News blah blah blah. Next thing,
you know, Mike Tyson pops up by one other dude,
not a train, not a whole antrush him and one guy.
When I say, the entire place was like oh alright, right,
(03:47):
and and a couple people kind of grab them, you know,
trying to just assume he want to take a picture
and kind of and he turned like that, like man,
I was like, and you could tell it not trying
to be funny. You could tell he has like PTSDNA
sense of being in the street and just like fighting
and people grabbing him. He trying to turn, hey, hey,
don't grab me like that, and I was like, you
want to just be grabbing a human?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Is that alone? Mike Tyson like that right, it doesn't
make any sense. All right?
Speaker 4 (04:11):
We got a great show sports Wednesday. A lot to
get to but first it's welcome into the Odd Couple crew.
We wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without them. Rob g is our producer, Alex is our engineer.
Monty Bolago is at the anchor that you updated. Thank
you and of course.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Never heard of him, never heard of a lover heard
of him.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Elijah is our social media Google. You look tired too,
so we're in full effect. Well about what because you
work at them so much? H r you you're working
them so much? And then when I asked her to
do something yesterday, he.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Was like, you don't have time for that? All right?
Speaker 7 (04:50):
Man?
Speaker 3 (04:50):
I got you, man, I was like, dang, Rob wearing
them all like that.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
Have what he sends lies every day, You'll.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Take it and you'll like it. Here on the Odd.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
Couple says that every day, you don't need to him
doing you like that?
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Eliaby like that? Can you put that and then the
tyson drop? And we could just do that.
Speaker 8 (05:06):
I don't have to say whatever you one just like that.
Let me just text me hr you real quick?
Speaker 5 (05:10):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (05:12):
How are you? How are you? God? Oh God, oh God?
That's how I feel.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
No, that's that's how everybody been texting me because you're
old Tani ridiculous. Another day he's been getting texted. Another
day has come up? Get your boy? Is your boy serious?
So your boy? How you put up with that? Every day?
I'm on like the fourteen text to DM Now is
this your man's we're doing radio show?
Speaker 4 (05:37):
Come on, son, I know you're used to listening to
the milk toast sports talk radio shows that most people
are doing around the nation. We don't play that here
at Fox Sports Radio at least from four to seven
or seven to ten.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
How's that all right? Let's get to the show. I'm
just saying, uh, rob G.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
The NFL made some news today, and for once, I'm
standing loud and proud with the National Football League.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Tell me something, to tell me something, you loud, proud,
on here the streets.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Hey, I about to say, you know what I said,
I'm life, I'm glad you and I'm standing loud and
proud to be and saw that one.
Speaker 9 (06:33):
Yeah, guys, this has been a talking boy for a
few weeks now. As you know, the NFL announced their
halftime performed for the upcoming Super Bowl, and they're calling
it a controversial choice. Bad Bunny Puerto Rican international pop
star superstar, one of the most popular acts on the planet.
The problem is, according to some, he is also very
(06:56):
vocal about his distaste for President Donald Trump, specifically as
it relates to the ice rays that have happened throughout
the country. So President Trump has come out and said
some stuff about it. News pundits, social media pundits have
all come out and said, hey, you need to change this.
This is not a good look, This is not representative
of America, this is not good for the NFL.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
Well, Roger Goodell came out.
Speaker 9 (07:20):
Today and forcefully backed Jay Z and Bad Bunny for
the choice of the super Bowl halftime shows, thinking quote,
it's carefully thought through. I'm not sure we've ever selected
an artists where we didn't have some blowback of criticism
It's pretty hard to do when you have literally hundreds
of millions of people that are watching. He Bad Bunny
is one of the leading and most popular entertainers in
(07:42):
the world. That's what we try to achieve. It's an
important stage for us, It's an important element to the
entertainment value.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
There you go and Bravo to the NFL, Bravo to
Roger Goodell. Okay, because and this doesn't matter what political songon.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Okay, because who are you gonna pick?
Speaker 4 (08:04):
You know, if you start doing this, then you're gonna
have real issues.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
Want you buckling on this?
Speaker 4 (08:10):
You won't be able to pick anybody, okay, because they'll
feel like anytime there's somebody that they don't like or
there's an issue. And here's my problem with NFL America
and a lot of the fans who you notice Kelvin
cried from the mountaintops. I don't want to sieve black
lives matter at NFL games.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
I'm just here for football. I mentioned escape for me.
I don't want to see that. I miss escapism.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
I didn't hear those same people when they gave tributes
to Charlie Kirk.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
There was none of that.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
Where was the outcry Why are we doing this out
a football game.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
I'm not interested.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
People went to the mountaintops and said he deserves to
have a right to voice his opinion. I agree, everybody does,
and so does Bad Bunny.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
He's not We're down with Donald Trumpet's fine.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
That doesn't mean he can't perform at the super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
If you don't want to hear Bad Bunny, guess what.
Turn your damn station, change.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
The channel, turn it down if you don't like but
Bad Bunny's music or you don't like him.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
That's what we've all done.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
You nominally acts at the super Bowl that a lot
of black people weren't interested in.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
And guess what their choice was.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Their choice was to either watch it or turn it
off and turn it back on when the game came on.
How dare people now they want to remove Bad Bunny
because he doesn't.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Fall in line with what they want to do the
same thing.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Oh, just dribble and play basketball, unless, of course, you're
an out kick or you're some other organization that has
a different agenda and feels a different way, then it's
okay for them to talk about sports and politics, but
not for other people. Come on, dude, just be consistent,
(10:16):
and I applaud the NFL for just saying we're not
gonna open this can of worms.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
He was selected.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
We went through the process and just like Roger Goodell said,
whenever you have somebody like this, they're gonna be people
who like them who don't like them.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
And we just we made a selection.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
And I'm glad that Bad Bunny is going to perform
at the Super Bowl. I'm not even a fan of
Bad Bunny. I just think that it's true. You know
what you're a fan of. It's standing almost right standing
on principal. And I gotta say, teasing you a minute ago,
I think your Tani takes crazy.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
We disagree on so much. We have fun on this show.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
But I got when you ain't wrong and you're right,
I gotta acknowledge that. And this is one of those things,
because this is this is where sometimes the hypocrisy screams loud.
Give you an example, blue lives matter, Blue lives matter.
Get that, absolutely, okay, But then when you storm the
Capitol and Blues lives are harmed, Oh well, now they
(11:15):
don't matter because you're trying to get your point across
that you believe the election was stolen and so on
and so forth.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
So now we're gonna kill cop.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Now cops can get beat up, get hit, and some
of them in the hurt took their own lives afterwards
because all the trauma all of that.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
But I thought it was blue lives matter. And so
it's the same thing here.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Free speech, free speech, well except for bad Bunny who
has an opinion about ice. And by the way, there
are several lawsuits, this is the news me several lawsuits,
several controversies, several things that there are misconduct issues when
it comes to ice. You have, whether it be states
like Governor Gaven Neussom in California who are saying, well,
why if they're ice, which is fine, why can't they
(11:50):
show their face?
Speaker 3 (11:52):
What is so bad? Police officers have to show their face?
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Other offers FBI right shows us what is this about
ICE agents? They don't have to show their face. So
there's practices that people are calling in the controversy when
it comes ice, meaning you can have an opinion on ice,
it's okay. And the idea that bad Bunny, well, I
don't want them to perform. He doesn't speak American, first
of all, speak English, doesn't speak American. First of all,
(12:15):
Puerto Rican is a Puerto Rico is a territory of America,
so that's connected to America.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Let's also start there, people, He's not even American.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
And then to your point of this, no matter who
I pick, if I'm jay Z, who's running in Rock Nation?
To Roger Goodell, it's gonna be controversy someone And if
I picked the who who had it some twenty some
years ago, a lot of people black, white, Latino, I
don't know who?
Speaker 3 (12:43):
Who is the who? And it's not about anything, it's
just I don't know.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
But a lot of people absolutely who is an iconic band,
but a lot of people I don't know them. It
was a different time, it was a different era, and
that's part of why they brought in jay Z in
the Rock Nation was to bring it hipper. They were
starting to lose people, performers who wouldn't perform, who are huge,
who are like na, this is too still and old,
so now here we are. Last year they chose Kendrick Lamar.
Controversy surrounds that. People say, why I'm not watching it.
(13:09):
It's gonna be this, It's gonna be that. Guess what
broke a record the Kendrick Lamar performance. And and I
think people forget this sometimes while you love the NFL
and you have your team's logo tattooed on you, it's
still a business. And Bad Bunny is the most streamed
artist in the entire world period.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
Hey, what do we talk about?
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Every every rob g gives us the uh, here's the
news schedule of the season coming season?
Speaker 3 (13:36):
What are there?
Speaker 1 (13:36):
A bunch of universal game games, global games, the NFL,
the NBA, NFLB I don't see trying to grow.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Who are stopping saying I'm not gonna watch the game
because it's in Europe.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
You're watching the game people, some of you are buying
tickets in the NBA and NFL is trying to be
continued to grow it's audience and grow globally. And he
is a massive, massive, if not the most, the biggest
artists in the world globally. They're going to spread the
game spreading now. So the idea again, you don't want
to watch, you don't have to watch. But the NFL
knows it's gonna be controversy no matter who they pick.
(14:11):
And why not pick the most global, globally streamed artist
who has a massive fan base. By the way, a
large portion of our country speaks Spanish as well. Hello,
and let it be entertained, and for twelve minutes of
your life you'll be okay, I promise all right.
Speaker 4 (14:29):

the comments throughout the show.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Rob G.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
You'll do that, We got Rob G. We definitely need
some comments. Yeah, we'll get to in a minute. Courhealing
on the way. We'll talk some NBA with the obviously
you got Day two of the NBA back in action.
We'll do that in just a little bit right now.
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, Roger Goodell stood
on Business and said, the NFL sticking with Bad Bunny,
and let's and he knows there's always going to be
some controversy when you make a decision around a halftime performance.
(17:04):
So it's one of the few times that Rob and
I actually can applaud and agree with Roger Goodell.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
What about you?
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Maybe we're wrong, maybe you disagree, Maybe you have some
strong opinion on why bad Buddy. We want to hear
from you either way. We want to hear eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox, who we.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Got Andrew in Bakersfield, California. You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Andrew?
Speaker 7 (17:23):
What's up?
Speaker 10 (17:23):
Guys?
Speaker 3 (17:24):
How are you? I'm all right? How are you doing well?
All right?
Speaker 10 (17:30):
Good to talk to you. So my issue is this,
I heard that Bad Bunny canceled all his tour dates
in the US and so he wouldn't come here, and
now he wants to do the Super Bowl. And my
question is like, what's the difference and.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Does he have a right to pay. He wants to
tour st real answer behind that.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
He doesn't want to be involved where I right is
showing up at his.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
He didn't want he didn't want anyone being attacked at
his events or being threatened or obviously.
Speaker 4 (17:59):
Andrew, that's the reason why there are no events here
in the Unitedy NFL.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
The super Bowl is a totally different entity.
Speaker 7 (18:05):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
And the concerts were never scheduled and he and he
just me. All he did was just do them in
Puerto Rico. And he did it, I don't know, like
several nights, like two weeks worth, and so obviously the
super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
I say, rolling up on the super Bowl this big business.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
So that's why Ye, Mason in the Bay Area, you're
on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
What's up Mason?
Speaker 11 (18:28):
Hey, Rob A Calvin. I first off, just want to
commend you guys for broaching this topic, because Rob, I
mean back to when you and Chris were on this show,
you would never stray away from, you know, dancing the
fine little dance. I'm adjacent in the sports and political world,
so I definitely commend you guys for doing that. I
(18:51):
think you don't hear a lot of that and the
you know, uh no.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
The milk toe sports talk radio. Most people are afraid
to have a real conversation. And all we're saying is,
in this situation, the NFL did the right thing. Like
you everybody, you're not gonna agree with whoever they picked.
That's the thing about it too. It doesn't matter who
so that. That person's too old, they're too young, they're boring.
I hate country, I hey hip hop exactly.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
They can't please one hundred and thirty forty million people
is always going to.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
Be I do have one question for you, Mason. Are
you shocked at the NFL like they didn't cave? The
NFL did not cave.
Speaker 11 (19:31):
I'm not shocked at all because you know, they tied
their you know, rope around this horse or whatever you
want to say, and they made the announcement. Why would
they back it off? And you know, like Kelvin said,
they're doing this globalization thing where they're you know, spreading
out to different countries. And I think it makes total
sense from a business standpoint. You are trying to get
(19:53):
the most eyes on your product, and that's all this
is gonna do. I mean, I'm probably not going to
be that interested in it. You know, I don't speak
that much Spanish in California. I know that's crazy, but uh,
you know that's that's fine though. I mean it is
what it is.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
So the only Spanish word that I know is pekito.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
Because women, you say that to me aloud, I'm.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Just saying, okay, So like.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
A crazy I was gonna say you're something else, but
it'd have been too close to what we're talking about.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
Kurt, and you're on the Odd couple of foss Boats radio.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
That was we sparked you were yes five, what's up buddy?
Speaker 6 (20:41):
Hey, hey, thanks, thanks a lot for taking my call.
You guys are the best. Your show has heart and
it has soul, and I just want to say amen
to your to your take on this, Rob Parker and
your take on this, Colvin Washington and Pat's off to
Roger Goodell and uh yeah, like I'm the pig back
on Nation. Uh, you guys are doing the right thing.
And we don't see enough courage and uh intermedia these days.
(21:01):
And it's a little bit of courage, but it's more
than we're getting.
Speaker 7 (21:04):
So anyways, God.
Speaker 6 (21:05):
Bless you, thank you.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
I appreciate you.
Speaker 7 (21:07):
Man.
Speaker 6 (21:08):
People, Man, I love you guys, appreciation it.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
Yeah, and the light rob let me add this.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
We're so sure of these types of conversations. You don't
even have to agree with us. We can have the conversation,
all right, does it have to be you better agree
with us. But the idea that you can't talk about
or can't have the conversation, that that's not this that's
not this show.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
How about Larry? Is this Springfield, Illinois or Massachusetts? Illinois,
Massachusetts and Missouri Missouri, Missouri. But there's Springfields everywhere, Springfield, Missouri.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
You look at you, how you doing, buddy?
Speaker 7 (21:43):
There's a Springfield in every state. There is a couple
of weeks I called a couple of weeks ago to
give you condulness, our happiness for your southern state college. Yes, box, yes, vacation. Hey.
I grew up in that whole little area there and
up the road as Harper, Connecticut, which is like little
Puerto Rico, and I knew a lot of Puerto Ricans.
(22:06):
Of course, we always had little issues sometimes. Basically, I
want to get to the gist of it.
Speaker 10 (22:12):
I'm a sixty six.
Speaker 7 (22:13):
Year old white guy living out here in Springfield, Missouri.
There's no flavor of any sort like that out here.
That bunny spans a lot of genres. Maybe people don't
know he's not only a great athlete, he's a great wrestler.
He's a great ambassador. He's entertaining. His music is soothing.
He's a perfect choice. Hell, they have so much crap on.
(22:37):
I mean, he's the entertainer, entertainer that came from nowhere
and nothing, which that's exactly. You go anywhere in Puerto
Rico and I've never been there. I would like to go,
but there's nothing left. I think that our president should
take a little bit more of his money. I think
that Roger Goodolf's take a little bit or a lot
more of his money and build the infrastructure of that
(22:58):
great little country, our country, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
Thank you so much, fitting Larry, Appreciate you, Larry, Thanks Larry.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
All right, man, appreciate everybody for your calls. Uh love it. Man.

cour healing all the way. Don't talk conversation too.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Conversation Well, I don't know that life, lazi right now,
get set on trending.
Speaker 5 (23:24):
This has just been so lovely to listen to you.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
What I mean that, this has been great to listen
to all the words that you knew.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
You had a lot of words I knew.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
I keep going going about, to keep going to say
one thing.
Speaker 5 (23:43):
Give us off.
Speaker 3 (23:44):

Speaker 4 (23:46):

Speaker 3 (23:51):
Now, Alex used to be out you know what I.
Speaker 4 (23:54):

Speaker 3 (23:58):
I are you afraid of me?
Speaker 5 (24:00):
Never afraid?
Speaker 3 (24:01):
Okay?
Speaker 8 (24:02):
No, not a gread for you for you. You know
they say we get a little wilder with age. That
where six years makes alright?
Speaker 3 (24:11):
Kaya kayata worried worried.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Don't be sure to catch live editions of The Odd
Couple with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven

Appreciate you again hanging out with us on this Wednesday
and all the folks on YouTube as well.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Right now, let's talk some hoops.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
With Kurt England, nbcsports dot Com Lead NBA writer Basketball
Talk on X. Feels good, Kirk, to have this music back,
NBA's back. It's a good feeling, A great time to
be a sports.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
Fan, right.
Speaker 10 (24:49):
Hey, this is this is a fun time here, isn't it.
I mean, you've got the Dodgers about to kick Toronto's button.
Speaker 7 (24:55):
The world cheer.
Speaker 10 (24:57):
All right, all right, hey man, hey, I saw how
Kendrick Lamar versus Drake went. I know how this ends.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
We're right back down the game, Blue Jays. All right.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
I know you'd think the tariffs are gonna matter, but
not another World series.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Okay, let's go go ahead. I was gonna say we
got the NBA last night.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
I want to go with the Lebron Lisa Lakers, and
I don't know if h Skinny Luca whatever you want
to call him, could play any better. And they still
got dropped, and the third quarter, like last year, was
still a problem.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
What are you making the Lakers, Kurt?
Speaker 10 (25:35):
They got some work to do, and I think we
kind of knew that going in, like, hey, they clearly
missed Lebron, but just beyond that, this is a team
that doesn't defend ribe terribly well. And last night they
shot I think it was twenty two from three for
the game for yeah, yeah, yeah, So like that was
always a concern. You've got to surround Luca with defense
(25:56):
and shooting like he's got He'll give you everything else.
And he got forty threelast night, and frankly didn't shoot great.
I think he was two or ten from three. He
was not sharp early in that game, and he still
did all that, And I thought, you know, Austin Reeves
was good. Austin Reeves had were twenty six. He had
a good game. But there's just not enough around them.
(26:16):
And that's going to start. It's going to start a
lot of places. But like DeAndre Ayton has to be better.
They have to have DeAndrea aiden before.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
Why are we expecting him to be better?
Speaker 4 (26:26):
Seriously, when he hasn't been Kurt that's the reason he's
been on teams, that's the reason that he became available
is he hasn't played well.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Why should we.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
Think that because he's in Los Angeles drinking the water
and inhaling the smog, that he's going to play better now.
Speaker 10 (26:45):
You know there's no snow to keep him from games now.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
So he said that's true.
Speaker 10 (26:51):
No, Look, he was good in Phoenix when Chris Paul
was riding him basically for a season. And I think
they're banking on the culture of on and doncha to
push him. Plus the fact that like this is it
for him in terms of major contracts, Like if he
does well here, he can get paid. You know, he's
not going to be a max guy, but he can
(27:11):
get paid with the next deal. If this doesn't work,
it is he's not out of the league, because he's
just big enough and good enough not to be out
of the league. But it's veteran minimums basically the rest
of the way, like you're just one of those guys. Yeah,
And I think he realizes that. And you know, look,
last night's one game against a good team and frankly,
(27:32):
to be fair to him, a team that's a really
bad matchup for him because they need him to be
in drop and you took good luck doing that against
against the Warriors. But he's got to be better. They
have to get more out of him, they do.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
And they need more shock creators.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
They don't have to address that at that point because
he can't just be Luca Lebron. Someone else has to
be able to get a bucket, which leads me to
a team then a bunch of guys. They are athletic,
they play together, they can create, they play, they get
a lot of eat this stuff because of their defense.
That is the reigning champ to Thunder. Are we Why
are we're not sitting here in June saying, oh, we
should have saw that coming them repeating again, give me
(28:08):
why that's not going to be the case?
Speaker 10 (28:11):
Why it won't be the case? Denver?
Speaker 3 (28:13):
Like, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 10 (28:16):
I think that's it. If they don't win it again,
barring you know, significant injury or something we don't want
to see, it's Denver. I think that's the only teams.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
Take them the seven games last year without the improvements
that they made this pass.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
Offsee, those two teams are a cut above everybody else.
Speaker 10 (28:34):
I look, those are the two best teams in the
NBA to me. And look, because of the way the
NBA league works, either New York or Cleveland or somebody
out of the East is going to get a shot
at them, because that's you know, somebody from the East
have to make the finals.
Speaker 6 (28:47):
But it's it's the West.
Speaker 10 (28:49):
If it's Denver versus Oklahoma City, like we expect, that
is the West. That's the NBA Finals. Those are the
two best teams, and I picked Denver, but frankly, it's
a coin toss, like I could to either one of
them winning guys, though, don't you feel like I hate
to say this because like they are so good, but
there's a certain Duncan qualities Duncan Spurs quality about Oklahoma
(29:13):
City where they're just they're just kind of good and
efficient and boring in defense, and it's just they're not
thrilling to watch and they're not dramatic in the ways
we kind of sometimes like as fans, that's a great.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
I'm totally with you.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
And they mirror the terrible numbers that the Spurs always
put up in the NBA Finals as well, So you're I.
Speaker 10 (29:31):
Mean, Oklahoma City fans will take boring all day long.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
I get it. I get it. I'm not mad at them,
but it is what it is.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
Uh. The Knicks are up big in the first quarter
against Cleveland tonight at Madison Square Garden. Obviously, with some
injuries in the East and Indiana and Boston, people are thinking, Okay,
the Knicks have a shot and how to get to
the NBA Finals. Again, I'm not that big on the
Mike Brown hire. I think they could have hired Charlie
Brown with the same results.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
But anyway, where are you on the Knicks?
Speaker 4 (30:01):
And is this the final time Ouday finally going to
get to the NBA Finals.
Speaker 10 (30:06):
Look, they're in the mix, it's going to be them
in Cleveland, and this is you know, it looks so
good on paper opening night, and now you know you're like, well,
who's playing, Like, no, Mitchell Robinson, Noda, Darlind, Like there's
just so many guys missing, But this game's a little
bit off and you're seeing some of the guys starting
who shouldn't be playing. Let's put it this way. If
things are going well and these teams meet in the playoffs,
(30:28):
some of these guys shouldn't be seeing heavy minutes. That said,
this is what Mike Brown was brought in for.
Speaker 7 (30:34):
Right.
Speaker 10 (30:35):
It turns out under NBA rules you were allowed to
play beyond the seventh man on your roster, like you
can actually guy eight, And this is what they're there for.
The ball movement, which is when I was watching that,
I've been flipping between that and Orlando Magic Miami and
like the ball movement's a little better. There's you know,
I saw I saw two spot up threes from from
(30:58):
Brunson already. Like they're they're doing things that they kind
of need to do, and they need to get Mitchell. Ultimately,
they need to give Mitchell Robinson healthy and back, and
I know they're kind of load managing him already on
day one, which is that's cool, wh I like, But
I think that's what they have to do to get
him to the finals.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
Hey, less than a minute here, Kurt for this one
real quick, give me a guy who he says, take
that next leap this season. I'm looking at a guy
like Cad Cunningham, Franz Wagner of Orlando Magic. You know,
handful of guys who could take that next sleep and
become you know, a household name or at least right
around there.
Speaker 7 (31:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (31:36):
Honestly, the guy probably going to make the biggest sleep
is Wemby, but we'll save that for another conversation. Wagner's
a good choice. I'm trying to think through, you know,
the other guy who was really great early last year
and if you can just stay healthy, I think Atlanta's
going to be good. Jalen Johnson Special. Jalen Johnson is
just a special player, and he kind of got cut
(31:56):
off of you know, injuries last year, kind of cut
that short and didn't get to see all of it.
I think we get to see it this year. And
I think if he comes together and speaking of guys
who need to stay healthy, and somebody should go knock
on wood, Christaps Porzingis stays healthy, Atlanta's Lanta can make noise.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
You went too far when you said, all right, Kurt,
who did you say in San Antonio.
Speaker 10 (32:20):
That Victor Wimby? I'm a guy.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
We one knows you, twim.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
Everybody knows it's Wimby kirk By the association.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
But there it is, Oh Kurt.
Speaker 10 (32:34):
You know, like I just walked right into the.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
Time, Alex, here we go for Kurt one more time.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
Every one knows you twim.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
Cart didn't ask for the second time. You Appreciate you, Kurt,
Thank you man.
Speaker 10 (32:49):
I spent so much time practicing how to say that
whole name. I got to get it out occasionally.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
Man, all right, you could have just said Cunningham. You know,
he could have just gave it.
Speaker 10 (32:57):
Appreciate you man, thank you.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
All right.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Shekel City player of the day on the way and
you just mentioned the Knicks too. I gotta I just
feel like something about the Knicks has to happen this year.

the first day I would owing three and it's I'm no. Well,
you don't have no rig, no rib, no chicken, no chicken, knocker,

Speaker 5 (34:06):

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Rob, you you buy me dinner tonight he said, yeah, man,
actually I read his mouth.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
That is not what you see how quickly he said.
But you to hear what he said, did you? Did
you read his Listen? After all I've done for you,
robbed you, nothing matters to you. I just picked up
a beautiful Christmas gift for you, And now on that
day he doesn't have anything from me.
Speaker 9 (34:26):
No, all that that raised that rob got that one
else gott He's like, I'm gonna get y'all's shirt.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
It's all good. Mom and dad stopped fighting all right here?
Why I gotta be sitting here seeing this?
Speaker 4 (34:39):
Here we go last night I was one in one
up to forty six, and forty three is a total.
I got Charlotte minus five and a half taking on
the nets in Charlotte six. That's right there, you go,
very nice. Cavaliers minus one and a half. I didn't
realize all the injuries with the Cows, so this is
not gonna work out.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
The Nickas are robbed big thirteen early in the second
three ear still early.
Speaker 4 (35:03):
Yeah, Cavs minus one and a half for them to
be favorite, but there's a lot of injuries. And I
got the Hawks minus five and a half.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
They are hosting the Raptors from around the stink. If
they got the Hawks five and a half? Yeah, can
you imagine that?
Speaker 4 (35:16):
I know so again, Hawks minus five and a half,
Cavaliers minus one and a half, and the Hornets minus
five and a half. And remember, I'm not telling you
who to bet on. I'm telling you who I bet
a haul.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
And it's time for your tire reck Player of the Day.
Speaker 8 (35:31):
Whiler dribbles in pump fake, goes up, throw Sir Payton
in the New Yark corner out to Curry with five
of the shot, locked deep free, got it.
Speaker 1 (35:42):
There, you have it, Warriors Radio right there, Warriors gonna
win and Los Angeles ruined Skinny Luca debut. That was
a tire reck Player the Day brought to you by Tirerack.
For over forty years, Tyraq has been helping customers find
the right tires for how Wooden where they drive ship
fast and free back by free World has a protection

(36:03):
It is the way tire binding should be.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
And I'm gonna say we've been getting feedback from on
social media and on YouTube. We got Brad hit us
up and said that he loved Like yesterday at the
end of the show, we were fun and absurd and crazy,
and then today we started off with a real topic
that we wanted to sink our teas into.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
When he liked and Rob g a lot of people
liked that.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
We were even talking about the bad Bunny controversy for
the Super Bowl, and most people, a lot of people
agree with us, but there's most people agree.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
With you, guys.
Speaker 9 (36:33):
And it also started some mini discourse between each other.
So that's kind of mode.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
You know that's gonna happen.
Speaker 9 (36:38):
But the one who has been the most vocal about it,
Michael DeJesus, says Rob and Calvin are completely wrong.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
With their take.
Speaker 9 (36:45):
Forget politics, Bad Bunnies music first of all is en espaola,
which most people will not understand.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
I do feel like I said that.
Speaker 9 (36:53):
Also, the vast majority of the songs have a dark undertone,
which is extremely negative for young children.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
Okay, so I'm here, I'm gonna go here. I'm not
gonna act like I know Bad Buddy's entire catalog. However,
I think he will be judicious and would he chooses right.
You're asking somebody who has a catalog. Most of the time,
these artists you get these you get the super Bowl
because you are a huge act and you have hundreds
and hundreds of songs. So therefore you choose your ten
(37:19):
to fifteen for your twelve fifteen minutes you get, and
you choose the best one. Secondly, that becomes very subjective.
You know how many people who have performed, who have
had messages or a little sexual or you know what
I mean. There's something you can find about anybody. So
if we're gonna do that and find tooth Comb, I
guarantee you I can go through every artist that performs.
And I'll say she mentioned this, she talked about that
(37:40):
she was shaking.
Speaker 4 (37:40):
Her but he was doing this, He did that this well,
this rock group was into drugs heavily and underage girls.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
We could go through. That's what I said.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
If you want to find tooth Comb, every person who's performed.
Speaker 4 (37:52):
Or a musician or whatever act, musical act, we know
what kind of lifestyle that is.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
And a lot of it is not.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
Pretty, and some of it is, some of it's not
so yeah, But and again it's good to hear from.
I was just about to say, I'm glad he still,
you know, gave us his opinion. God forbid you have
an opposing opinion in this country lately? Is that allowed
to have different?
Speaker 3 (38:11):
No?
Speaker 4 (38:12):
If you have an opposing opinion, what we tell you
to change your station?
Speaker 3 (38:16):
If you don't like it, well they say something else
about Well, I'm talking to you the way I want
to talk to you. You have a problem. Turn off
your station. Please don't turn off the station.
Speaker 9 (38:25):
Please don't you keep you keep you get turned it
down and get really upset, but don't turn this.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
You keep telling them to turn One day they might
listen to you. Be quiet, do that. I'm not trying
to Mike.
Speaker 9 (38:33):
Yeah, Mike Tyson, reading's business, Robie trying to be the
twelve o'clock show or what.
Speaker 7 (38:39):
Not?
Speaker 3 (38:39):
Yet? I'm not not not doing this with y'all. Roger,
are you a kid from last night? I was trying
to get him the twelve o'clock show? Well, I know
we lost too listeners him and his daddy from the
company to fight you in your next remote. No, No,
they were they listen. They were listening.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
They called back, called back to the which to now
you to turn them into a bullet.
Speaker 9 (39:01):
He called you a bad name. He called me a
fat pig. He did I know where the super Bowl is?
He must, I'm gonna see you.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
He must know the fall you, the fall and winter you,
it's coming. He knows that version of you, not the
spring and summer version. Get on it, right, yeah, get ready,
rob G. I'm not going to eat any of your
food at this Super Bowl. All you wanted was that
man's buns and pancakes, and I had to win
Speaker 3 (39:27):
How many of his buns
