You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. It is The Odd
Couple on a Funky Flashback Friday. Rob Parker and Rob Gara,
Rob Parker, that's right? And Rob Garra, Rob Gee, Rob Parker,

(00:47):
Rob Garra, Rob Parker, Rob Gara, all right, that's enough,
all right, coming to you live from the Fox Sports
Radio students, and I did say a funky flashback Friday.
Chris will be back from vacation on Monday. And in

(01:08):
his stead Rob Gara, who is normally our producer, he's
filling in with the co hosting duties today, Rob Ge,
how are you? I'm doing fantastic? Rob Parker, how are
you doing? I'm great? Am I too loud? Alex Am?
I good? You sound crispy as cream man. I feel

(01:28):
great on a Friday. And it is the Couple, Rob Gum.
We got a lot of stuff to talk about right,
and a very good variety and Rob g Rundown. We
have some guests coming up right today. That's right later.
At the bottom of this hour, we got former NFL
agent Joe Corey swinging by share his thoughts on the
Kyler Murray contract of Howard impacts Lamar Jackson. An hour

(01:52):
two friend of the show Fox Sports Radio NFL insider
Adam Kaplan. It'd been good to talk to Adam. Right,
we haven't talked to Sin the Super Bowl, I don't
think yep. And then an hour three from NBC Sports
for another friend of the show, Kurt Healan swings by,
I talk a little NBA. All right, great, we got
so much to talk about different topics. So I hope
you settling on this Friday night. But let's welcome in

(02:15):
the odd couple crew, because you wouldn't be able to
do this farm radio program without them. Alex, of course,
is our engineer. Alex. How are you? Rob? You know
I'm doing great. Just don't count your blessings. I will
be out a few days next week too. What sometimes
you got vacation her Oh there we go, big big

(02:36):
up in US. I forgot going to the herd, you know,
I never missed the herd never mind. Also, Steve de
Seger is at the anchor desk. That's right, And uh,
Rob double, would you can I say you're the producer
to today or not? Yeah? But got shout out to
Tab who's assisting with us today. Okay, so with the

(02:58):
tab tabering the phone, you're taking care of other stuff, right, yes, sir?
All right, sounds great? All right, Rob g let's get
kick it off with Lamar Jackson. And you know, we
know the Kyler Murray contract. I thought it was disappointing,
not from the dollars amount, but that it wasn't fully

(03:20):
guaranteed and people could poo poo it all they want
and say, well, he'll get it all. He's a young guy,
right and the sky's the limit. But DeShawn Watson, who
didn't even play last year, was able to strong arm
the Browns into a fully guaranteed contract two hundred and
thirty million dollars on top of the picks they had
to give up to get him exactly. And then Kyler,

(03:43):
who we know, if the team faltered in the second half,
had a terrible playoff performance against the Rams, but they
did start the season. If you remember rob Gie the
hottest team in the NFL seven and oh until the
Packers came to the desert and won that game. You remember,
that's right? So and then he barely ate all offseason

(04:04):
about a contract and scrub the social media and he
wasn't happy and boohoo, who pay me? And I don't
want to wait any longer or whatever. But then he
just took one hundred and sixty million dollars guarantee. And
I'm gonna say, if I'm Lamar Jackson with the Ravens,
who has a better resume then Kyler Murray? Could you

(04:26):
say that? Absolutely? He has a unanimous MVP. You know
that doesn't happen very often in the NFL. He has
a couple of playoff wins under his belt. Now he's
led the Ravens. You know, the only time they don't
they haven't played well or have faltered rob G is
when they've been heard or beat up. Right, if he's

(04:48):
a team right other than that, they're good. They're a
good team if they're healthy, because he's an X factor.
He's that good and he leads them. And if I'm
Lamar and I know he the nevinate agent and it's
he's doing it and his family. I think his mom's
involved or whatever. And maybe there's just a lawyer to
read over the legal leagues. You know that you need

(05:09):
to make sure you don't get swindled. But other than that,
he's I guess leading this and I would hold out
for a fully guaranteed contract. Not only Rob g would
it be good for him. And he's a running quarterback
who could get hurt at any time. Right, you want
me to run, it's it's an extra dimension that makes

(05:32):
me one of the best players in the league. If
you want me to stay on that path, and you
want me to do what I've done, I need a
fully guaranteed contract like DeShawn Watson. I don't care what
Kyler Murray took. And he would also help to re
establish for the quarterbacks who are coming up, justin Herbert right,
Joe Burrow, all these young guys are coming up. He

(05:56):
could be a hero to those guys by saying, nope,
fully guaranteed Deshaun Watson like and then two of the
last three quarterback contracts right if if if if, um
Lamar's next would be fully guaranteed, and that would set
enough of a standard for the other guys to follow him.

(06:18):
You think I'm crazy? No, I that was a person.
Agree with you, Rob Parker. Now, this has been a
talking point for about three years now, Patrick Mahomes versus
Lamar Jackson talking about I didn't like that. Yeah, it's
been a thing on you know, ESPN, Fox Sports, pick
your favorite channel, And it was while one guy's got
the Super Bowl, one guy's got the ananimous MVP, they

(06:39):
both got a couple of first team All pros. This
is Lamar Jackson's opportunity to succeed where Patrick Mahomes failed.
All Right, remember when Pat Mahomes got that half a
billion dollar contract. Everybody's so excited because they see the
five hundred and three million they're getting. You know, their
their panties all in a bunch because they're so excited
about it. About a week afterwards, he talked about it

(07:01):
on the show The Athletic surveyed a handful of anonymous agents.
These were some of the quotes that were used to
describe the Patrick Mahomes five hundred plus million dollar contract.
That deal was horrendous for you're moving forward. This kid
essentially gave up free agency for his entire career. Another one,

(07:23):
only thirteen percent guaranteed. Absolute joke. The worst deal in
the NFL in the last twenty years. If you remember
when he signed it, Rob g I think he was
only like sixty something million was guaranteed sixty three at
the time of signing over the Yeah, and last, but
not least, this is the most damning quote of all.

(07:44):
In order for the NFL player compensation to shift closer
to baseball and the NBA, it will take the players
with real leverage to change the dynamic. No one had
more leverage than Mahomes. His agents missed a big opportunity
to change the game. There's no doubt about it. They're
all spot on, absolutely. I know we talked about it.

(08:05):
Remember immediately that it was a bad deal for him.
It was team friendly. There're no outs for him. They're
out for Kansas City, yes, but there are no outs
for him. And this whole notion, Oh, they'll take care
of him if he plays well and he'll be all right.
Now that that was ridiculous. Cousins got a fully guaranteed

(08:26):
cun Yeah, exactly. And if if that's the case with
you know, Kirk Cousins, Deshaun Watson if the only way
to get fully guaranteed contracts is the hit free agency,
then that's what Lamar Jackson has to do because it's important,
not just for him, because again, anybody can ask for
these guaranteed contracts and not all of them gonna get
him because they don't have the leverage. Deshaun Watson had

(08:49):
leverage over Cleveland because they knew they wanted to upgrade
from Baker Mayfield. They knew with Lamar Jackson and Joe
Burrow in that division it was gonna be really tough
for them to compete. So he to lie the leverage
he had, which is crazy considering he had twenty plus
sexual assault allegations against right and didn't play the hand,
and he still had leverage and he used it right.

(09:09):
When guys who have leverage don't use it, that sets
back everybody else, no doubt about it. And I think that,
and we know the Baseball Union is way strong. You
remember Alex Rodriguez wanted to go from the Rangers. He
wanted to go to the Red Sox, but the Red
Sox asked him to take a pay cut. Do you
remember that? Yes, And the Union stepped in and was like,

(09:30):
no way, no, how are you taking a pay cut.
You're gonna get every nickel from that two hundred and
seventy five million dollar contract that the Rangers signed you too,
Because once one player does that, then the rest of
the owners will be looking, oh, you know, we'll take you,
but we need a cut or And now, as I said,

(09:51):
if Lamar gets a fully guaranteed contract and these other
younger quarterbacks come behind them, they could say, no, Lamar
got one, right, DeShawn Watson got one, and that's what
I want. I can't do that. Then I'm not signing.
And Rob, we've talked about this before. I mean, we'll
get Tom Brady a little bit later. But this, to
me is one of the worst things about Tom Brady

(10:12):
is he set the precedent all those years ago by
continually taking less than market. He was never paid full
mark him now, his whole career. Never And then he
had the audacity a few months ago to go on
Instagram and say the nfl PA needs to stand firm together.
You guys are thanking, and it's like, Bro, you're the
one who started this. When guys like Tom Brady, guys

(10:36):
like Patrick Mahomes don't utilize the leverage they have to
set up the next generation of players. That's where we
run into problems. And Lamar Jackson probably more so than
anybody who's available right now, you know, outside of maybe
Joe Burrow because the Bengals have been a dumpter fire.
He has leverage. Their entire franchise, offense, defense is built
around his skill set, what he can and can't do.

(11:00):
So if you're Lamar Jackson, you have more leverage than
damn you or anybody in football right now. It is
your responsibility not just to you to get that money,
but for the guys coming up behind you to ensure
that these NFL owners don't get away with the excuse
of while the salary cap is why I can't give
you the kind of money the Rams just proved. The

(11:21):
salary cap is a myth all it's always been. It's
a fake number, rob Gee that they just it's all
the salary cap and players. I just don't understand it.
The only reason it's there is so that the owners
can fodge or use as an excuse why they don't
want to pay the players. All the NFL, ever does

(11:42):
is brag about how much money it makes a right absolutely,
I mean earlier today, Rob Parker, the Green Bay Packers,
who are the only I think publicly traded team in
the NFL, they put out their revenue sheets that showed
they made five hundred and seventy nine million dollars this
past season. This is what I'm talking about. The player's

(12:03):
salary recap is one hundred and eighty two and they
made Look how much they took home. It's unbelievable, and
at least in baseball when you do when you do
the math and say the Yankees payroll is two hundred
million on the Dodgers, right, two hundred and they get
from the Yankees get four hundred from the Yes Network
before they sell anything else, Rob g four hundred. So

(12:26):
you know, it's the same kind of thing. But the
players are getting more money compared to football exactly. So
all right, we definitely want to hear from you on this.
Should Lamar Jackson hold out for a fully guaranteed contract
from the Baltimore Ravens, again, we want to hear from
you eight seven, seven nine nine six sixty three sixty

(12:46):

nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six sixty
three sixty nine. And we're talking about Lamar Jackson and
his potential new contract, and Rob g and I are
in lockstep. He should hold out for a fully guaranteed

(14:12):
contract like the Shaun Watson got, like Rob Parker got.
You know what I'm saying. I mean, there's only one
way to work and fully guaranteed, uh and not fall
in and take what Kyler Murray took, which was one
hundred and sixty of the two hundred and thirty guaranteed.
So if we want to hear from you, let's Sarah.

(14:33):
Let's go out to the phone lines. Friend of the show.
First up, Mark and Sacramento. Mark, you're on the our
couple Fox Sport, Jenny. What you got buddy? Going on? Gentlemen?
What's happening guys? How are you doing good? Well? Good Mark?
How are you doing well? Been watching? Been watching a
little bit more baseball, rob watching Mookie, Mookie, Vince seeing
last night again? Ye, been watching, been watching all the

(14:56):
All Star Game and festivities were great and Mookie's a player.
They captured my friend was watching the pregame and I
don't know if we rob g if you even saw this,
but they captured me and Mookie shaking hands on television
lit wow during batting Vice. Yes, and the Rachel Robinson

(15:19):
thing was really great, Oh it was. And Denzel did
a great job to with Jackie Robinson. So it was
just a really really good time. Yes, yes, yes, yes,
Um he better he better not give him a discount.
He better hold out for that guarantee. The president is
now set because if he does it, the guys coming
up right behind him, Herbert and Burrow. I bet you

(15:40):
they ain't get it. So he better get this right now.
I'd walk in the office with my MVP, sit it
on the desk and say we start there and until
we get to guarantee. That's what I would do. I
wouldn't settle Mark. You're right, because Joe Burrow I agree,
and justin Herbert, I'm not gonna they're going to get it.
They are, they're young, they're the future of those teams.

(16:05):
And Rob g right now, Joe Burrow, especially taking that
team to the super Bowl, tell me that he's not
gonna get what he wants. You know what, Rob, If
Lamar Jackson doesn't get the fully guaranteed deal, I don't
think Herbert or Burrow's gonna get that fully game. I
do not not that they don't deserve a thousand percent
deserve it. I think Joe Burrow will because of getting

(16:27):
to the Super Bowl and just just second year, right.
But Rob, if if the unanimous MVP who has the
entire franchise built around him doesn't get fully guaranteed contracts,
then who does no, you know what I mean? Think so,
but but I'm that's what the team's gonna say, like, well,
you know, Lamar didn't get it. But you remember the

(16:47):
Bengals had lost seventh straight playoff game before Burrow got there.
You remember they were good with what was his name,
Marvin Marvin Lewis Lewis their coach, but they could never
win a playoff game from they would go into the
playoff absolutely all right, keep it moving. We got Jay
Parker in Maryland. Jay, you're on the okable Fox Sport Radio.
What you got buddy? Hey, I have a little bit

(17:10):
of a different take on Lamar Jackson. I hope he
is truly successful. We love him, but I think Baltimore
ravens hesitation is with Lamar Jackson is he struggles to
read defenses and he is not. His legs will not
last forever if you want. That's why Bernard Poplard got
on him. He said, take your mouthpiece out and audible plays.

(17:34):
But that being said, Joe Flacco never audible out of
a play and he won a Super Bowl. The last
audible called in Baltimore was by Johnny Unitis. Wow, and Rob, Rob,
this is the last thing ever said. I'm sixty five
years old. I grew up with the Baltimore Orioles, where
the best team by far in baseball, and now I'm

(17:56):
thrilled to death written for a five hundred baseball team,
no respective it is. But they've come on. Yeah right,
I mean the Orioles look like that season was over.
They were dead them and the Mariners are hot, playing
good baseball. I don't I don't want to get off
topic too much, Rob, but you don't know how many
times the odd couple, Twitter handle or even myself gets tagged.

(18:18):
And that Deadspin column that you wrote about a month
and a half, two months ago, multible Orioles need to
be contracted. Do you remember? It's like that's when they
started winning. You remember you you reversed it, you reverse Jinkstom.
They worked out, we got to time for one more
to keep it moving. I think this is a Sandy
in Seattle. Sandy, you're on the acable Fox sport traded.
What you got? Hello Chris? Hello Rob, how are you

(18:39):
guys doing? Thank you for saying my call. Hey it's
Rob Jay here, but I appreciate it. And then I
just want to say I'm a Steelers fan, so this
topic is kind of intriguing to me. I wish that
Lamar Jackson holds out and gets all the guaranteed money
because honestly, they're one of our biggest rivals growing up,
and right now they got no good receiver. Is the

(19:00):
running backs coming back from an injury? What is Lamar
Jackson gonna do? Throw it to Mark Andrews every play
he could. He runs damn here faster than he can throw.
So I just feel like I would love like to
compete against Lamar Jackson for the years to come. So
I hope he gets all that guaranteed money. I just
want your guys to take on that. Like, division wise,
do you think that team will run our division the
next five years? Even if there's an injury to Joe Burrow?

(19:22):
Like you think Lamar will still be that guy. I
don't think that we just got injured last year too, Rob, No,
I get it, but I'm saying I'm not I think
that uh Baltimore is going to be right back in
the mix. I don't think they're really and and and
I'll say this, and I'm not saying a hot take
because you know how football is. There's a chance that

(19:44):
that uh Cincinnati might not make the playoffs. He could
go from the ball of not making the playoffs. So yeah,
they play a first place schedule this season coming up. Yes,
things slightly really quickly, and they're not sneaking up on anybody. No,
And that's the way the NFL works, you know, save
for the Patriots who kept cheating every season. You know,
it's rare to see that level of consistent dominance through

(20:06):
any division in the NFL. And you know, Sandy, I
know the you're a Steelers fan, Bad news for you, Bud.
Even if he gets that fully guaranteed contract, it's not
gonna change whether I think put weapons around him, because
they'll just give it in bonuses. They'll give it in incentives.
And that's how you work your way around the salary cap.
So you can still add other players. Shout out to
the Rams who've been doing that now for three seasons.

the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio would come into
your live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. And now
let's welcome in Joel Corey, a former sports agent and
a CBS Sports NFL analyst, joining us here on the program.
What's up, Joel? How are you great? How you guys
doing man doing great? There's a lot of stuff we'd
like to ask you about. Put your agent hat on,

(21:37):
and let's start with um Kyler Murray's contract. Given that
the Sean Watson got a fully guaranteed contract at two
hundred and thirty, what are you surprised that Kyler didn't
push for the same thing or his agent didn't making
that the standard for quarterbacks or for players with some

(21:58):
sort of leverage, and Steady got only one hundred and
sixty million dollars guarantee. Well, i'd imagine he started there.
But I never thought Kyler Murray was going to get
a fully guaranteed contract. I don't think the Cardinals are
one of the cash rich teams in the NFL. Back
when he signed his rookie deal in two nineteen, they

(22:19):
didn't even give him a signing bonus in a lump
sum like the forty nine ers did with Nick Bosa.
He had about seven million of that deferred until the
next calendar year. They typically defers signing bonuses significantly for
their players. I don't wait a minute. The NFL brags
about how much money it makes, and you're telling me
the Cardinals are running to the organization like a mom

(22:40):
and pop store. They don't have money. Well, it's one thing.
I don't know if they have that type of liquidity,
because you have to stick future guarantees in escrow in
the NFL funding rules, and I don't think they have
the type of cash that will say the Haslem has
in Cleveland obviously to do it. So I never thought

(23:02):
this was going to be a team which would have
a fully guaranteed contract. I didn't not from not from
the Cardinals, Joe sticking with Kyler Murray, I mean Rob
Parker and I have both said that we didn't really
think that Kyler's performance dictated he deserved a massive contract
extension right now. They probably should have waited another season
to see what he could do before they decided to
push their chips all in. But is this is a

(23:23):
situation where in the NFL, if you have a quarterback
and he's not you know, Baker mayfield them below. It
doesn't really matter if he deserves it's just, hey, it's
his time, we got to pay him, or we start
from scratching that kind of the way it's working out now. Well,
if you buy into the theory only as good as
your last game, they never should have paid Kyler orl Right,
why no, I agree with that. That was like one

(23:46):
of the worst games I've ever seen. Well, I'm joking.
We said the Ramps should get him a game ball.
But putting that aside, if you think you have a
franchise quarterback, it's better to pay him sooner rather than later,
and typically maybe three four guys from a draft class
and get paid after the third year. Murray is the

(24:06):
first from the twenty nineteen first round to get paid
after the third year. So I don't know who the
others are going to be. Maybe he's only one, but
look at it from this standpoint and why you pay
the guy early. Let's say that the Bills did not
pay Josh Allen after the third NFL year and waited
until about right now to try to get a contract
extension done. When he signed, he became the third forty

(24:28):
million dollars per year quarterback. Now they're eight. Challen would
be asking for like fifty million a year after playing
the twenty twenty one season. So the longer you wait
to sign a good, great player, it's going to cost
you more in the long run. They've obviously identified Murray
as a franchise quarterback, so might as well bite the
boat and pay him the first instance you can. Well,

(24:51):
I think that's what the Cowboys made a huge mistake,
don't you think With Dak Prescott they waited and it
wound up costing them way more than they probably had
to pay what he What did he net last year
like ninety million with the signing bonus or some ridiculous
amount of money. Now, absolutely they waited two long. He
was seventy five million in the first year. But it

(25:14):
had they made him a priority instead of Tank Lawrence
going into his contract year, it would have been a
lot cheaper. Or if you just do it the first
franchise tag instead of haven't playing. In stead of haven't
played the first franchise tag, there's no Deshaun Watson deal
it with the Texans in the equation, and it's probably

(25:36):
a lot close to Russell Wilson's thirty five million per
year than it is the forty million actually signed signed for.
So yeah, he did cost him more money in the
long run. Former agent CBS Sports NFL alest Joe Corey
here on the our couple Joe looking forward. Now that
Kyler's gotten paid, all eyes are shifting towards Lamar Jackson
and me and Rob just finished talking that there's very

(25:57):
few players in the nf R now who have more
leverage then Lamar Jackson has given how their entire offense
is built around his skill set, you know, flaws at
all and his resume. Absolutely, do you think that he
could be the guy that who holds the line for
future quarterbacks and says, I'm not signing unless I get

(26:17):
this fully guaranteed deal. I hope Clitty's the guy that
takes that stance. Here's something that the Ravens should be
looking at um as well. If let's say he plays
out this year and they don't sign a deal, they're
gonna have to a franchise tag on him. If you
go non exclusive, then he can sign an offer sheet

(26:39):
and a team can give up two first round picks
if they gave an offer sheet. The Ravens couldn't match
now two first round picks for a starting quarterback for
a draft choice compensation. That's a that's a steal considering
what Watson and Russell Wilson went for this year. You go,
you go exclusive, you can't shop himself. There's a different
price point as well. It's gonna be close to forty

(27:01):
six million dollars. He plays on one tag for that
and then another tag at twenty twenty percent raise. That's
a hundred going over two years, and he's probably walking
out the door. So I would think about that upon
the Ravens, and I would I would reminded that remind
the ravens of that. If I'm Lamar Jackson in my
quest to get the fully guaranteed contract. If he doesn't
get it, keep your eye on Russell Wilson for a

(27:22):
couple of reasons. One, he's got a ton of leverage
because of all the compensation the Broncos gave up to
get him. Two, he's got a baseball agent and Mark Rogers.
Baseball players have fully guaranteed contracts, so and they got
an owner with deep pockets from the Walmart family Walton family,
so the funding stroll problem won't be an issue. So

(27:46):
if one of those two doesn't get it, then it's
gonna be Deshaun Watson as an anomaly, just like um
h Kirk's cousins was in twenty eighteen when no one
else got a fully guaranteed contract after him. Has to
be one of these two or Watson's deal is going
to be an outlier. Okay, being a former agent, what
do you make of Lamar handling him his negotiations himself?

(28:10):
Or I guess he'll have a lawyer to read the
paperwork or whatever. But I understand the reason of having
an agent. But now with the numbers and everything so
public and whatnot. Can't you look at yourself and say, well,
I'm not as good as this guy, but I'm better
than that guy and figure out and put a place

(28:31):
where you belong. Or how important is the agent in
some of these situations. Well, you've had players who have
done fine by themselves without an agent, having some competent
advisor behind the scenes that is familiar with the NFL contracts.

(28:53):
Bobby Wagner made himself, has paid off all linebacker when
he's had across the table from the Seahawks himself and
had advised there's Lammy Tunsel became the highest paid offensive
lineman in twenty twenty, and DeAndre Hopkins reset the receiver market.
So it can be done. I just haven't seen a
quarterback do it. I would I would be afraid from

(29:14):
his standpoint of giving up too many years. And also
how the guarantees are structured in terms of making sure
you better understand what's fully guaranteed versus what's conditionally guaranteed
or the rolling guarantees. He needs a lawyer. I mean
to read the paperwork. Ain't no doubt about that? Correct? Yes, yeah, Well,

(29:37):
if you can get the contracts from the union, if
you can compare the language from one contract on your
team to another. Make sure they're not doing something out
of the ordinary. Yeah, but you're gonna need somebody who's
some FFL contracts to read them. But I wouldn't want
to do anything more than four new years if I
don't have a fully guaranteed contract. I had a fully

(29:58):
guaranteed contract, I'd be willing to go five new years.
But it'll be interesting to see if he gets something
done in this offseason. But I will say one thing
about Lamar's patience is paid off for him by well doubt,
no doubt. Hey, Joe Corey from CBS Sports, Well appreciate
your insight. Thanks for joining the Odd Couple right here

(30:19):
on Fox Sports Radio. Thank you, Oh thanks for having me,
no doubt. All right, coming up next Sheckles Cities back.
You want to make some loot and yes, yours Trulie

we could just talk about how complicated other banks make
it to redeem credit card rewards, or we could just
talk about how with Discover you can redeem your rewards

Rob G? What time is it, Rob Parker? Time for
Checkle City. Welcome to Checkle City, the whole base for
Rob Parker's Daley dis against the spres. Oh yeah, Sheckle

(31:56):
City not yet sponsored by Caesar's Sports Book. But one day,
one day soon, Rob G. You know I'm working it right,
We're working it, working it, working hard for the money,
working hard. Chris doesn't understand, but it's all right. I
didn't get it there. He just doesn't get it. You
gotta earn it. It was not Kyler Murray of sports gambling.

(32:17):
Rob Parker is trying to get out of the friend
zone right to wipe it up with Cesar Sports Book.
No doubt. All right, here we go. Best bet. You know,
the Yankees lost the double head of last night right
to the Astros. Astros on the Yankees, they do, they
really do. But I got the Yankees and the Orioles
who are hot run total Rob, g I'm taking the
over over nine tonight. That's the best bet. You just

(32:40):
hate good pitching? Then, well, I just think the Yankees
after losing the double header might be a little angry tonight.
You know, I just think maybe I've never seen you
bet the under. Rob. Let me just say that. Well,
I got two the next two bets. Hey, there you go,
Marlins and Pirates run total under eight and a half.
I'm taking the under, and the Cubs in Philadelphia against

(33:03):
the Phillies run total under nine. So there you go.
I got the Oriel Jenkies over the run total of nine,
Marlins and Pirates and Cubs and Phillies both under for
the run total. Remember, I'm not telling you who to
bet on. I'm telling you who I bet on. All right,

(33:25):
I just teased it we talked about it. Vince McMahon
has stepped down from what is it called now to
WWE World Wrestling Entertainment. It used to be to WWF,
and somehow somebody else had the trademark the World Wildlife Foundation,
and they sued him and got and they had to change.

(33:45):
That's right. I always thought that was unbelievable because it
operated under the WWF for a while. Yeah. I think
one thing that's not surprised to me, though, Rob, is
that you wouldn't understand the idea of copyright infringement given
how many Nike, Adidas, Jordan Brand, Odd Couple apparel that
is go ahead, But um, yeah, I never got a

(34:12):
let it. But but Vince McMahon has stepped down as
what president and CEO of the company. Correct Ton who
used to be a former UM Media television agent, right, yes,
him and his daughter is that who's definitely correct taking over? Right?
Taking over? And Rob Chi, I mean, I don't know

(34:33):
about you. He's in some hot water. This looks like
he was forced to step down right to get out
of the out of the hot water, to get to
not pulled down the rest of the company and organization
right with his own scandal going on right now? What
do you make of Yeah, yeah, what's the word that
came to mind? Was forced the retirement? Like I know
that he say him seventy seven, I'm looking forward to

(34:55):
riding off into the sunset. But the fact remains is
about a month month ago, you know, the Wall Street
Journal published something that said that he was settling cases
left and right as it relates to sexual harassment, sexual coercion,
things of that nature. And this comes you know, remember
decades ago he was accused of providing steroids to his athletes.

(35:17):
So as good of a job as he did to
grow the wrestling world and what he did provided a
lot of entertainment for a lot of years, you can't
say that he was like a stand up guy at
all times. So when you have a multi billion dollar corporation,
which the WWE is now, it only makes sense where
it's like, hey, dude, you know you can quietly step

(35:39):
down and make sure that we don't upset the Apple
card here, right, And I've given the nature of the
ww E. I wasn't sure if this was a fake
retirement or not. Yeah, if they hadn't put out a
press release, I think we all would have thought that too.
I just thought, you know the way that it goes around.
I still remember, and you're too young. There was a

(36:02):
reporter named John Stossel who was an investigative reporter, and
he interviewed some wrestlers. He was working on ABC maybe
twenty twenty or Nightline, and he was talking about, you know,
wrestling being fake and how there's a script, and one
of the wrestlers slapped the hell out of him and
popped his ear drum, like on the air, going to

(36:25):
Kim like, is that fake? I still remember that. I
bet you. Steve de Sega remembers that update. Well, I
want to ask him John Stossel, and I think he
had like damage to his ear. So when did you
know Russell was fake? Rob g quickly, Oh, gosh, I
was probably a like twelve or thirteen, because I remember
my dad used to run the LA Sports Arena way

(36:47):
back in the day and he used to get as
you know, front row seats to watch it and I'd
see these guys. I'm like, there's no way it's fake.
Like he's punching my face repeatedly, like it's can't be fake.
He did it with a steel chair and then you
realized later. It's like, oh, if you gate with the
real steel chair, you probably windsday up afterwards. Yes, I
think I learned the fake early on in my life,
but that has nothing to do with wrestling. It is

the high couple. Five Sports Radio

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
