here in LA, but no complaints, man, Good weekend with
the family. You know I did Rob, I think you,
knowing you you would appreciate this.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Shout out to my neighbor.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Tommy hit me up and said, hey man, you know
he's got kids, my girl's age, and he said, hey, man,
you want to go see season. I got some tickets
to go see seasun for those of you out in
California or not at cal State University north Ridge right
down the street from me, you know, nice local college,
and we went to go check them play ball. It's
one of those like you know, supporting the local team.

(03:14):
They're literally right down the road. I've spoken to that
school several times for their you know, telecommunications, film departments
and all of that good stuff. And so, uh, it
was good to go catch a game, a local game,
if you know what I mean. One of those do
something cool in the community things. So that was one
of the highlights of the weekend for me. But what
about yourself?

Speaker 5 (03:29):
Nothing, just relaxed to some stuff around the house. I'm
good with it. I mean, I'm gonna be busy. I'm
going to spring training next week, so I got a
lot of stuff to get ready for MLB bro and
the baseball season and MLB Network.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
You do that out casually spring training with where.

Speaker 5 (03:44):
So I'm going to Arizona. I'm gonna go out to Arizona,
go check out a couple of teams. I'll see the Dodgers, Cubs,
a couple of teams. Nice, I'll look into it. So
I'm looking forward to that next week. So, man, we
got a busy show. That's welcome into the odd Couple
crew because you wouldn't be able to do this fine
radio program without him.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Of course, Rob G is our producer. Oh wow.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
Steve de Seger's at the anchor desk. He'll keep us
updated throughout the program. Elijah is our social media guru,
that's why, one of the best in the business. And
of course on the ones and twos, there you go, Mary, Mary.
So it's a magic city Monday, and plenty of stuff

(04:30):
to do, plenty of stuff to get to.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Uh. So I'm excited. Let's make it happen. Let's do
it all right. We want to start with Rob G.
Do we have sound? Is the sound? Okay? So?

Speaker 5 (04:42):
Robert Ori, who works for the Lakers, what is the
Spectrum Sports net.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
L A yep, just sports neck is the Dodger one?

Speaker 4 (04:53):
Okay? Uh?

Speaker 5 (04:55):
And he uh went out and said that Lebron should
be mentioned or should be voted for as MVP.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Let's hear Robert Lorry.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Lebron James got the same calls.

Speaker 6 (05:06):
As SGA, he will be averaging thirty plus currents a
game and it'd be no question who's MVP because he's
so much better, physically stronger, just Lebron James as a whole.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
And I think the League doesn't want to show favoritism.

Speaker 7 (05:23):
He should be MVP because he's putting in that type
of work. And you know, I might be a little biased,
but you know, I'm gonna sit back and say, League,
you make a Vita mistake if you give that to
someone other than him as of right now.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
All right, even he couldn't say it with a straight
face and had to put in there, I might be
a little bit biased. And for people who don't know,
he works for the Lakers broadcasting postgame show, So I'm
not saying that he can't be honest or can't have
an opinion on it. But the reason that he said
that is because what are people supposed to expect when

(06:00):
you're getting paid by the outlet that does Lakers games.
I don't think that Lebron is the MVP.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
I don't. I think you can.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
Make a case obviously for the Joker SGA. Those guys
are more in line. Lebron plays one side of the court.
He's had a really good season, there's no doubt about it.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
But MVP, I just I don't think that he's the MVP.

Speaker 5 (06:28):
And I thought that this was a stretch, it was
a prisoner of the moment. Yes, they've won two they
won two close games against the Clippers over the weekend,
and they got a star with him, There's.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
No doubt about it. And Luca we know what he
can do.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
And if anything, I think if they start to play
well and Luker's there, I think that takes away from
actually Lebron being the MVP because people would go, is
it Lebron or now that Lucas showed up that the
Lakers are way better?

Speaker 4 (06:57):
So I don't know how you get to that.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
I think it's all, yeah, listen, you know, big shot
Bob is my guy, but he is drinking a little
bit of the Homer kool aid in Lakerville. But you know,
as you mentioned, that's what he's seeing, that's what he's doing.
But I think really what it is is a compliment
to Lebron. And what's funny is to you brought up
a great point if they going on a twenty game runner.
So another one because they're fifteen and three in their

(07:21):
last eighteen and let's say they almost repeat it again,
they got twenty three games.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Let's they say they go, you know, eighteen and five
or something like that.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Well, that means a lot of that will be that
Luca have been playing one hundred percent and it could
take some away from Lebron. But I think specifically what
Robert or is referring to is what we've seen during
this tenuere with Luca, and Lebron has been the one
playing more consistent, more efficient, and better basketball than Luca.
Right now, Luca's still trying to find his legs. Lucas

(07:48):
still trying to find his footing, which is a compliment
of how good Luca is, and that he can drop
twenty eight and you're like, okay, he's not quite there yet,
drops thirty You're like, yeah, I can tell he's still
knocking off some of that rust.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
This just shows how good he is. But Lebron has
been a madman possessed lately of the last seven eight
ten games really and really can go back to ever
since he turned forty.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
I mean, he's averaging twenty eight a game, almost nine boards,
almost nine assists.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
I mean, he's looked spectacular.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
And again when you start to look at this record,
what the Lakers have been doing in the last uh,
you know how good we're gonna go ten. They're eight
and two in the last ten if you want to
go like I said, eighteen fifteen and three.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
They've had the best defense for almost two thirds of
the season, and it starts to become, oh, that's who
they are. They're actually a good defensive teams.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Yeah, they've been like they've been playing amazingly of the
top five d I believe it is the last two
and two thirds of the season and the best the
last over a month. So they have found themselves playing
good team defense. And a lot of it is because Vanderbilt,
who they've had for a couple of years now but
has maintained always been hurt. Now he's healthy, mucking up
the game, getting steals, getting them extra possessions, you know,

(08:58):
guarding their best with other teams, win the players. Finny Smith,
who they signed, you know, maybe a month or so ago.
He's been really well, can play bigs and play small.
Jackson Hayes has come along, live down there in the paint,
changing shots, blocking shots, rebounding, and this is.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
Freed up Lebron.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Lebron, we know, we know you called him a statue.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
I called him at times they were the Ola Curs
because they were letting people get by him. This Lucas
signing and Austin Reeves controlling the ball, both of them
setting up the offense, controlling the tempo has opened up
Lebron to have spurts rob where I can't give it
to you thirty eight minutes a game, but I can
give you spurts a good defense. I can give you
spurts where I'm locking.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
That just meaning that he can't play defense and for
a little bit of stretch. I mean, he's forty years old.
What defense is he really playing. I don't buy them, but.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
I'm saying, if you're watching the games, he's playing great
defense for small doses, and that's the best he can do.
I agree, but it allows because he doesn't have to go.
I have to get the offense going. I have to
be the one to start the offense. He can say
I'll play some spurts up. They're girl, they're doing good
with the uh the minute management pulling them out because
you get the mens, you can pull him out. I

(10:07):
can throw Luca in. How crazy is that? So it's
allowing him to have some extra energy. So no, he's
not the m v P. SGA is the MVP. If
it's not him, it's Luca. Lebron could finish right there
in the top three because the Vegas odds have him
at fifth right now.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
I could see him getting up to third.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
They finished with the second best record in the West
that today, I could see him in the conversations that
they had a heck of a season.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
Maybe that wasn't that, that wasn't what he said. He
said that he's Robert.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Ory said the absolutely absolutely.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Okay, all right, that's what that's what that's that's why
I said he's drinking that cool Akay, that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (10:41):
Let's just be let's be like tap thir And he
even had to say.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Well it might be.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
It could be, Robert Rory.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
You are biased and let's not forget during the Lebron Okay,
this is the MVP season. And if you had somebody
on the set, it was willing to push back to
Robert ri and say, hey, do you remember the eight
game stretch while Lebron averaged nineteen points eight rebounds, eight assists,
five point three turnovers per game, and had a team
worse minus seventy two plus minus that that's the guy

(11:12):
gonna be the.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
MVP of the league.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
And then he took like a week off, just like
out of nowhere. Do you remember that at all? I
just like, what season are we looking at? I just
for that to be because he's played well for a
recent stretch that he's the MVP. He didn't say he's
playing well and playing I don't know, he could be

(11:37):
whatever you want to say, but to say that he's
an MVP or it should be the MVP in the
league is preposterous.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Yeah he's not, And I'll emphatically say he's not the MVP.
And you know what, you know who else will say that.
Lebron James will say he's not the MVP. What what
Lebron will be focusing on is can I get this team?
Can Luca get this team? Can JJ Austin Razo? Can
we get to the Western Conference finals and maybe make
some noise and then maybe you never know, get to
the finals and hey, maybe be finals MVP or something

(12:07):
like that.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
That's his focus.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Luke Lebron himself will tell you he's not an MVP
right now.

Speaker 5 (12:13):
Even Vegas, and they're always trying to get people to
entice him, Yeah, to put him got him at fifth, right,
he got him fifth?

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Yeah, So but I think he could he'll end up
at I think he has a chot to end up
at third, depending on what the Celtics continue to do,
and Tatum maybe getting getting a shot as well.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
But uh, it's more or less.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
I think Robert Or, who has been infatuated with Lebron,
has done, especially since turning forty.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
Because that you know what I mean, I mean there's
room for that.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
I get that if the people are comparing it rob
to the MVP season he had with the heat, his
numbers currently or this ten twelve fifteen game run are
better than what they were then.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
So a lot of people said he's the MVP then.
But it's like, no, you gotta come on.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
That ain't apples and apples because what Yoki is doing
is utterly ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Mike, I remind people, Let me remind people.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
Yoki is just giving people twenty nine, thirteen and ten.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
Stop it. That's what stopped and Lebron.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
This season's give you twenty five eight to nine incredible,
All Envy All first Team, you know, honors deservedly. So
if he ends up making it one of the one
of the you know forwards in that that, I'm all
with it.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
But yo, kids just putting up absurd numbers.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
The only thing I'll say, last point that could be
not in favor of Lebron actually witting, but having people
like a Robert Dorry, who obviously is a little biased, saying,
you know, wow, this is an MVP candidate type season
is because no one had second in the West expectations
for the Lakers. Nobody had that sell a long way

(13:47):
to get people. I had him finishing maybe in the
top four at best. That's where I had them at best,
let alone top two. So I think that has weighed
or even more than his stats, is that the Lakers
are currently, as we say, second in the West.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
All right, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
Should Lebron be in the MVP conversation?

Speaker 5 (14:14):
I say, no way know how for once Kelvin agrees
with me, Right, we had a few.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Okay, we've had a few. We know, in fact, I
don't maybe that we've had so many lately.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
Well, well, maybe we'll hear from people who disagree, or
if you agree with us, that's cool too. We want
to hear from you, get you involved in the conversation.
It is The Odd Couple on a Magic City Monday,
Rob Parker Kelvin Washington right here on Fox Sports Radio,
Stick and Stay.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
The answer is no, Lebron should not be MVP in
the US of A.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Mary.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
You ain't on a hot sea yet, Yes, I am.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Go check them out there the way tire buying should be.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Rob and I having the conversation because big shot Bob
Robert Lorry said that Lebron should be who folks are
considering the MVP. Both of us said, pump the breaks,
big shot, not right now, that is SGAs.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
He's made a lot of big shots in his life.
That was an airball. I'll got to say that, all right.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
I see where you doing on the Magic City Monday.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Yes, that's what we said. Love what the Lakers been doing,
love with Lebron's doing it all.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
But he's not an MVP right now, and that is
okay because I don't think he wants to be. I
think he wants to get somewhere deep into a playoff
run eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
Who we Got Shake in Kansas? You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sporturadio.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
What's up, Jake? Hey, I'm doing everybody doing great, going good?

Speaker 2 (16:20):
Well?

Speaker 8 (16:22):
Yeah, Helvin's got me missing brew Let's I'll just say that.

Speaker 9 (16:25):
Shout out Kevin.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
But that's okay, you're allowed to say that.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
I'm thinking if Diana TARROSSI can go to the Olympics
when she is forty.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Why can't Lebron be as an MVP when he's forty?

Speaker 4 (16:38):
I mean nobody, nobody says he can't be. Look at
the stats. Have you seen this? Kelvin just told you
what the joker's doing? Did he tell you Pase exactly?
I mean embiid gout voted in.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
It was a joke.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
I mean, it.

Speaker 9 (16:52):
Should have been a joker three years in a row.
But it can go in your favor or against.

Speaker 8 (16:57):
You because it's a popularity contest.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
That's just my put.

Speaker 5 (17:00):
All right, no problem, Thank you, Jake, appreciate guard, no doubt.
Andre in Massachusetts. You're on the odd couple. Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
What's up, Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 9 (17:10):
Thanks for taking a call. Listen, Adam Silber, did he
create an MVP for the senior NBA? Is they affording
over MVP? I know, okay, because under that category, yes,
Lebron would be at the front of the line. But
clearly this year in the NBA we cannot have him
usurping specifically shape Gilded Alexander and what OKAYC is doing?

(17:31):
Shout out to Donovan Mitchell okay, and what's going on
with Cleveland? Right, These awards are about winning, and they're
about pre eminence over the course of the year. Now,
I think to Bob point and I think what you're
seeing is athletes, right, you want to give the nod
to other athletes. Rob you kind of talk about that.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
Yep.

Speaker 9 (17:46):
But people are coming to realize the Lakers are a
game or two away from the number two seed in
the Western Conference and being in serious conversation to challenge. Okay,
see is the clear cut number one? But with this
old Luka Doncon's trade and the smoke's starting to clear
and people are starting to realize you have to generate
the all time players that are both playmakers on a

(18:06):
team that run.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
Yeah, yeah, Andre, I get all that, but that's not
what the MVP is I'm talking about. There's no way
Lebron is honestly in the conversation, that's what I'm asking you,
is he No?

Speaker 4 (18:18):
Okay, That's what I'm seeing over you know, That's what
I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (18:22):
I get the team and where they go and if
they make if they get knocked out in the first round,
it'll be because well, well they weren't together long enough
and that'll be the excuse, or you know, they're still
trying to feel each other out, or or yeah, defensively,
they got some issues.

Speaker 4 (18:37):
They're gonna have to.

Speaker 5 (18:38):
Get more help from Lebron or something like that if
they get knocked out early by Denver or some situation.

Speaker 4 (18:44):
Rob g jump in just quickly. You're saying Lebron's not
in the conversation.

Speaker 10 (18:48):
No, no, So then what is the conversation with top one?

Speaker 4 (18:52):
Top two? Like what is it? Let's say top three? Like,
so he's not top three?

Speaker 10 (18:58):
No, why would he be behind Giannis or Datum.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
Or Donovan Mitchell? Dan Mitchell doesn't.

Speaker 5 (19:07):
Plain enough to be in the Okay, okay, Well what
they're doing is amazing.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
What they're doing is amazing. What I watched Friday night,
I was like Wow. In Boston.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
But Lebron with the addition of Luca, I just think
that that is the part that hurts him. Actually, if
he was doing this and say A d was in
and out and and and they were at this the
ascend and it wasn't and I know that Luca hasn't
been here throughout the whole thing, then you would have

(19:40):
a different argument. I just don't understand how you can
look at uh Denver and Okay see and what they've
done and not think that those two.

Speaker 10 (19:49):
Guys are clear those two guys.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
That's what that's That's.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
What I'm saying, Rob G. It ain't.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
It ain't if your m VP conversation is five deep.
Was the NFL MVP really more than than.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
Those two guys? So it was two guys? Do you
know what I'm saying. That's why I look at the NBA.
Is that fair? Yeah?

Speaker 10 (20:09):
I just want to make sure it's like the way
I'm not saying this. Missy's saying, only guy's over forty,
and it's like, well, I mean, if you're if you
really want to parse it, there's a reason why Vegas
has been number five.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Well, I told you rober G. He can work it
up two three.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
If they win the second, if they end up second
in the West, they going to another crazy run. They
got twenty three games left, say they win, you know,
they go sixteen and seven or seventeen and six, something
like that. It end up near fifty five ish win
somewhere around there, when nobody had them coming in second.
I absolutely believe that he could, you know, finish third.
I just think Sga is far too far ahead with

(20:43):
what he and Okase you're doing there the number one
defense throughout the season, he's scoring thirty a game. Again,
I just think he's kind of got the end. And
you know my theory, it's his time. They're tired of Jokis,
so I think he can't specify Joki. That whole thing
is stupid.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
It's true. I don't agree. True.

Speaker 5 (21:01):
Let's squeeze one more and Drew in New Jersey, you're
on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Drew.

Speaker 8 (21:07):
Yeah, he's not. He's not in the MVP conversation. But
the one thing I will say is the defense towards
I keep on hearing. I think because Lucas there in
the playoffs, all you need is timely stop. And I
think even at sixty years old, I think Lebron James
is still gonna be a better defender than Nicole Kigaffer
will be even in his prime. So the idea that

(21:30):
and I'm one that believes in Nicole Yokus is the
best player in the league. But I don't think defense
is a fifty fifty split. I think he's still the
trocious defender. The only difference is he's so dominant.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
Offensively doesn't have Yeah, I mean his numbers are ridiculous,
just what we've seen.

Speaker 8 (21:45):
I mean, he's with that statement. Or do you think
he's a good defender?

Speaker 5 (21:49):
No, I don't think he's I don't think he's the
best defender. But I don't think Lebron is either, and.

Speaker 8 (21:53):
That mind the better defenders, though, do you think he's.

Speaker 5 (21:56):
A better I think Lebron can in certain situations come
up with a play, sure, sure, but yeah, but I
also saw what the Hornets did with the Joker. Do
you remember when they beat the Lakers in LA? They
went right at them. They just and this is what happens.

(22:17):
The playoffs are different, you know that. And this is
where matchups come in. Who you got? Thanks for the call, uh, Kelvin,
And things change in the postseason.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
They just do, without a doubt. So we'll have to
see how the things play out. But man, they've been
on a run for sure. Hey, we got some football conversation.
Looks like deebo is on the move. We'll talk about
that in just a bit. Right now, Steve de Sager,
what is trending.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Now some football news, Rob if Rob J if you
want to get in here.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Talking about Deebo Samuels.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Possibly, once it's a official, he will be joining the
Washington Commanders, picking up some offense for already potent offense.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
But give us some of the deeds.

Speaker 10 (23:09):
That's right, Well, this trade has been agreed upon. All
sides are good to go. In fact, the Commander's already
posted a jiff on their social media accounts of debo
from Friday as an indication that they are acquiring Deebo
Samuel from the forty nine ers in a change for
a fifth round pick. Why just the fifth round pick?
That is the question seems pretty light if you ask me.
It's because his contract situation. The primary reason why the

(23:32):
Niners had to move on from him is because they
didn't feel it was worth the contract anymore and they
would have to extend him at a lower number. The Commanders,
given their cap situation, says, you know what, we'll take
him for that amount. Point play period, and if we
get act him at a lower number, we'll do that
too later down the road. But for now, Washington has
their new number two ride receiver with Jayden Daniels and

(23:52):
Terry McLaurin. Deebo Samuel to DC.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
Love it.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
To me, it shows me they're not happy, They're not
resting on their laurels. Offensively, they had a top five
offense last year, scored a bunch of points, moved the
ball a lot. Jayden Daniels obviously could pass, he could run.
You just talked about McLaurin. I mean, they have some
offensive threats. We saw that against what they did in
the postseason against the Lions.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
Took full advantage of them.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
And to me, they're not gonna get twenty twenty one
version of Debo right. That was just all world seventeen
hundred almost eighteen hundred yards, fourteen total touchdowns. He was passing,
I mean, catching the ball, running the ball, returning stuff.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
They're not gonna get that version.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
But if they get a seventy five percent, as we
were talking about last year or yet last week about players,
if I can get seventy five c a dollar of
what Deebo used to be and I only had.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
To give up a fifth round pick. Why not?

Speaker 1 (24:47):
Why not you can get that guy who can be
a part of your offense. You can find different complex
ways to use him. And to me, it absolutely makes sense.
And again on a team that already was offensively potent,
I'd like that they're saying, we're they feel as though
their window is open and you got to strike while
the iron's hot, because if you don't, you never know.
You mess around and something happened, and you know, you

(25:08):
find yourself always good, but not great to me. Adding
weapons to an already potent team, to a quarterback who
people might catch up on next year, right, we saw
them at CJ. Stroud, they might catch up on a
little bit. Well, yeah, adding weapons doesn't hurt to me.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
I mean yeah, if you feel if you have the
cap room and you feel like he could be an
important piece. We already know what he was able to
do in San Francisco and thrive there except for the
last couple of years, I guess. But still, I mean,
he's a weapon, and I'm sure that they're thinking that
we can get something out of him. Uh and if

(25:44):
he if he bounces back and really has a year
then that'll be interesting to see.

Speaker 4 (25:49):
I think it's worth the gamble.

Speaker 5 (25:50):
And it's only a fifth round pick, so right, if
you have the money to spend, then why not spend it?
And you don't want to be like the Commanders, don't
want to be like the Lions, you know where you
have your win though for two years and.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
Then it's all over and then you don't make the
playoffs the third year.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Why you can't look look at me my eyes when
you say that I'm talking to.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
You, give me my wings.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
I can't wait.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
I've never wanted to fall asleep so bad and wake
up it and already be December.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
Bob g tell them about those Jordans that.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Yeah, I heard about the brus Sar Jordan's.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
You remember those? How about that the Dodgers won the
first two games in DC.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
That's a tougher one though, because you know sport playoff
series as a whole, but even baseball so tricky and
this is difficult to.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Predict and anything can happen.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
I mean, shoot, we saw that this past postseason, which
was incredible, which was one of the more fun ones
I can remember in recent years.

Speaker 4 (26:40):
It one fun for you with the Lions I know
it wasn't.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
No, I'm talking about MLB.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
I'm saying no, no, no, no, no, that was upsetting
with the Lions. But no, again, just to rehash, you're
talking about the windows, and that's the thing to me
because look, the Lions, I believe you don't, but I
believe in many people believe their windows still open. The
Eagles are the raining champs, right, and they've been playing
good ball for the most part.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
All I know is the division is much better.

Speaker 5 (27:04):
Yeah, and they're not playing the AFC South where all
three teams feasted last year, green Bay feasted, Minnesota feasted
fourteen wins, and I think green Bay had what twelve,
Minnesota had fourteen, and the Lions had fifteen, But that
was help by the AFC South where they just destroyed

(27:25):
those teams, right.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
And I mean, if you mentioned too, you mentioned the Packers,
and maybe they're not you know, they don't. Maybe they
went ten eleven games, but I think the NFC, who
knows what the Rams getting getting. Matthew Stafford back point
being that I like the Commanders not just saying like, oh,
we're automatically going to be good, right, We're automatically should
be right, back where we were. That's not how it works, man,
that's not And to me, that's why it was one

(27:47):
of the reasons why I was so impressed with the Lions.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Obviously they didn't make it back, but.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Was that they didn't come in and, oh, we're just good,
We're automatically going to be good. And next thing you know,
you're sitting there, you know, nine and eight, because you
just you didn't get any better, you didn't prove you
just rested on the fact that we believe we automatically
are gonna be good, just not the case enough, not
the case. So I like the commander saying, no, no, no,
let's keep getting better. Let's keep getting guys who can

(28:11):
help our star young quarterback because teams have all the
film now, team says, seeing what he does and what
he can't do, and we know they're going to be
trying to come back harder him. We don't want that
regression that we saw with Cede Stroud, who's still a
good quarterback, but we did see regression this year.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
And I think Jayde and Daniels and the commanders is like, nah.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
Let's kind of keep pushing our push our foot on
the gas pedal.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
And keep moving forward. And I like that from an organization,
not just.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Also what does it say for the forty nine is
as they go forward? I get it.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
This saves a great question, Rob, But are.

Speaker 5 (28:38):
They is that window for them the two trips to
the Super Bowl and maybe they don't get there again,
maybe they aren't there. I mean that's something that you
got to start to Look. We saw some cracks in
rock Purty last year. They've had injuries. Christian McCaffrey can't
stay healthy, Deebo couldn't stay healthy. There was a lot
of things that went on there. I don't know how

(29:00):
how do you get better, you know, as you continue
to shed players and got players.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
So that's the other part. I mean, they're getting older.
And then the whole Rock Party situation. I mean, you know,
if he's their guy moving forward, but.

Speaker 5 (29:14):
It's not a negotiating right Rob Gee, that'd be interesting
to see what that turns out to be.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Yeah, I'm just uh, yeah, I think they're their window.
Is how you feel about the Lions. I think there's
as still a crack for them because I think they're
just a well run team, them being.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
The forty nine ers.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
But I definitely don't think it's as open as it
was a year or two ago, and it has opened
as other teams in the NFC for sure, including the Commanders.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
All right, Sheko City on the way. We'll see how
Rob did.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
There also some possible teams want to move up in
the draft. Who are they will tell you it is

Speaker 4 (30:53):
All right, a little Shekel city.

Speaker 5 (30:55):
On Friday, I was two and one, almost got the
hat trick, all right, total fifth fifty seven, couple games under.
Hopefully we can. We just need a hat trick. Get
over We got right to five hundred. It'll be nice
to get over it tonight. Best bet all. Of course,
these picks were all posted earlier today on social media.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
Dallas Mavericks plus two and a half.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
They're hosting the Sacramento King So I got Dallas plus
two and a half at home. Okay, Memphis Grizzlies they're
hosting the Atlanta Hawks. Got the Grizzlies minus eight and
a half. And the Miami Heat hosting the Washington Wizards.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
Oh boy, oh.

Speaker 5 (31:36):
Yeah mine, I'm taking the Heat minus eight and a half.
So again, Heat minus eight and a half, Grizzlies minus
eight and a half, and the Mavericks plus two and
a half.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
And remember this Calvin.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
What's that.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
I'm not telling you who'd have bet on. I'm telling
you who I bet on.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
All right, there you have it. Yeah, we'll see man.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
The bunniest part is if we've ever kept track on
how many times you bet on the Wizards.

Speaker 5 (32:00):
Well, it was used to be the Pistons during that
Really it was the Pstons. Yeah, yeah, things have changed now,
I know.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
My goodness, the Wizards. I mean, they're just a horrific team.
Right there in the.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Football news man, you got a couple of teams that
are looking to and in both in the same area,
same region, h same city.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
The move.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
That would be the Jets and the Giants are both
interested in trading up to get to that number one pick.
We know both are looking for quarterbacks. Both are in
need of filling that position. And whoever it could be,
could be cam Ward, it could be shaduer Sanders, whoever
they view as the guy. You got plenty of reports

(32:40):
that are saying they're looking to do that. So but
then you have on the other side, Rob we even
we even talked about, you know, Matthew Stafford was possibly
connected to the Giants. They were gonna give them ninety
plus million ended up signed re signing with the Rams,
but you start to get the feeling that according to again,
these reports got Jeremy Fowler out there ESPN NFL Insider
saying Giants, they still may be interested in finding a veteran,

(33:05):
a guy out there, Russell Wilson if that doesn't work
out the Stealers their Kirk cousins. We obviously know it
didn't work out for him in Atlanta. He's still with them,
but and even at Aaron Rodgers, so there's a chance
they still may move up to get the young buck yep,
the guy that can build around in the next five
to ten years, make their guy for the next decade,
but also have them up under a veteran. And it's

(33:28):
one of those. To me, Rob, you've read a plan
on paper, it sounds good. Are we gonna do this.
We're gonna meet up here eight o'clock. We're gonna do this.
Everybody read to close. We can go, We're gonna move,
We're gonna everything great, And it just doesn't work out,
almost like our Emeralds experience in New Orleans statefully worked out.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
They tried to hate our plans.

Speaker 4 (33:44):
Me don't play me. I was trying to get us
a good meal.

Speaker 5 (33:47):
I didn't know who knew it was gonna cost three
hundred and thirty five dollars a play man minimally.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
No listen and listen, listen, We're serious.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
It was gonna cost this three to fifty per person,
without dreams, without tip all that.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Minimally, it was gonna be crazy. Thankfully the plan worked out.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
But to me, I look at these two teams and
I say, man, Robbie, sounds good, But I don't trust
their organizations to get it right. Maybe they trade the
wrong piece and it ends up backfire, and maybe they
draft the wrong quarterback.

Speaker 5 (34:14):
Campus is on good, and it's that's what I'm giant, man.
I have zero respect for the Giants front office what
they do when you get two things wrong, because they
didn't get one thing wrong, they got actually two things wrong.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
When you think about it.

Speaker 5 (34:28):
Sa quon letting them go, and on Daniel Jones and
you want up lett him go.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
Just think about that.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
So you you made a decision and you actually didn't
keep either one.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
How does that work?

Speaker 2 (34:39):
Let me tell you something that's the right question.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
How does that work?

Speaker 1 (34:43):
How do you keep your job? That's the creat I mean,
I that is essential. I agree with you. You have
it right, whether it be the star player. And remember
we saw the clip. The clip had John Marr the
and he said, hey, man, I would hate to get
this wrong because the last thing I need is him being,

(35:07):
say Kwahi to sign one of our rivals like the Eagles.
Well that's exactly where he went. He had an MVP candidate,
seams that almost broke the rushing title, and then had
to learn to win a Super Bowl. And by the way,
Daniel Jones is not even on our team anymore.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
Somebody gots to go.

Speaker 4 (35:22):
That's what I'm saying. It's like it's so bad that
it doesn't make sense.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
It makes zero sense.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
And usually again I mean people, as you know, you've
been covering this since nineteen eighty six, the NFL, right
enoph on the NBA eighty seven.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
Seven basebl eighty six. All right, so people get fired
for less.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
We have coaches who will be Coach of the Year
and get fired, you know what I mean. We have
coaches who could be Super Bowl contending teams who maybe
they lost in the Super Bowl and get fired. General
managers who could make it to the postseason, but they
didn't like the way it worked out and get fired.
I don't know how you're holding a job when your
own son was like a pops. I don't know if

(36:09):
you know, but you should get And we didn't even
the mission rob. They didn't sign Jaydon Daniels. They had
a chance to have Gotteniels Jayson Daniels as well. They
could have drafted them.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
My mind.

Speaker 5 (36:19):
No, that's what I'm saying, Like it's bad all the
way around, and now all of a sudden they're gonna
move up to go get a quarterback and a situation
I just wouldn't trust them. That's when you have ownership
that says, Okay, we messed up, but I'm not gonna
let you mess up again and put us and set
us back even further.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
I mean, that's what you would think, and that's and
that's normally what happens.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
But that's not the case. And then on the Jets
in I mean, you know the great.

Speaker 4 (36:43):
You don't know that it's got new people. Now they
got the same own.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
New people, same owner who got an F grade from
all the players in the league, who takes his advice
from what was it the video games and whatnot?

Speaker 2 (36:55):
I mean to be.

Speaker 4 (36:56):
Such a Madden ranking, the Madden rankings.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
Yes, I mean it's just to be two organizations and
the biggest market in all of sports and all of America,
New York, I should say, it is just disappointing how
bad they're run, how bad they you know. And again
they had a great run with ELI, snuck out a
couple of championships and credit them for that. But overall,

(37:19):
it's disappointing, even the Knicks man for New York to
be New York. Everybody's always telling me, you know, they
want to play for the Knicks, so they want to
play for the New York. I mean, the Yankees have
pretty much been holding down.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
For New York.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
That's they're like, Oh, they've been the most consistent franchise
in all of New York.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
My goodness, man.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
Somebody who has not been holding it down is the
Big three in Phoenix. More disappointing in Brooklyn, will tell you.
