Speaker 4 (02:27):
You write it down, Committed to memory eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox for you layman out there, can't
coordinate numbers of letters eight seven, seven, nine, nine, six
sixty three sixty nine. And if you hear feedback on
the line, it's your own fault. It means only one thing.

Speaker 5 (02:45):
You forgot to turn down the radio.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
With that said, always remember the odd couple was filmed
in front of a live audience. Sweetie beating.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
All right, let's go a big show on this trash
talking Tuesday. Let me welcome in my co host.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
He is Calvin Washington.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
What up, man, Hey, I'm about to start trash talking
Tuesday early.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Well you trash trashing Elisa right now? Elijah?

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Who what in the doss is going on over here?
This is when you mess with people who know science
and technology too much. I say, hey, man, the laptops
over there. Can you lock me in? He say yeah,
And I just see cryptic doss matrix looking stuff going
on that can't even now, I can't even get into
the the he lulled you into a porn website. I'll here,
I am trying to say he was in the matrix.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
Now, you got my mistake, you know, like it was
just normally like that's what it was.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
Like.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
It's some volume randomly pops up, y'all. Ain't my computer
but been something something just pop up. It ain't your boy, Okay,
oh no, it feels good man. And we had a crazy,
crazy went rainstorm for like six seven hours hard and
then get up a little bit later.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
It's beautiful sunshine. You never know around here. But really
it messed me up to that, I believe you. It
just wasn't. My bones are achy. It just didn't feel
like I had energy. You up there, get in the
leave one twelve one pier will last you twelve hours
dentire time. What is the no dentures? Please stop saying that.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
We gotta say, don't put that on, don't put that,
don't put that in the universe. We gotta say RP
to the great D'Angelo too, a great neo soul R
and B artist of the late nineties, early two thousands,
even the semi recently did the tour and everything and
passed away at the age of fifty one. And amazing
talented artists. If you're not familiar, go check them out.

(04:37):
Incredible artists. And we lost him too too early at
fifty one. So one time, drop a bomb for D'Angelo please.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
All right, all right, we got a lot to get to,
but let's welcome in the odd couple crew because we
wouldn't be able to do this farm radio program without them.
Rob g is our producer, Steve the Seger's at the
anchor desk Wow updated throughout the program. Elijah is on
social media.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Cooglu.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Yes, Elijah, you saw the cameo. He you saw him
in the flesh walk behind that was him. And on
the ones and twos, huh uh Let's get started baseball
Game two of the NLCS.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
The Dodgers in Milwaukee taking on the Brewers. Dodgers win
Game one, luckily despite the great pitching matchup right it
was it was uh and and of course Blake Snell
pitched great, right, but still the bullpen. Here we go again,
just a crazy finish it.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Yeah, it is a nerve.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
That's with the beauty of of MLB postseason. And by
the way, Roger Man, you know who stays wrong. Rob
Gi stays wrong. Rob G was so wrong. He's like,
why am I catching straight? I'll tell you why you're
catching straight?

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Rob G?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Because me, you and Rob Parker set up here the
other day and Rob we asked, would you rather see
eight to nine, ten to eleven games? We said no,
The nail body. Each pitch is nerve wrecking. You're on
the edge and you see your bite, your nails, and
that's what we got and it scores. Haven't been crazy
been two to one, three to two, you know in
different games, maybe four, but uh, this is what you
want unless you're rob Gi, right.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
It's if you're watching, you're at home and you're like,
oh my god, like you just cannot turn away, or
your stomach is in knots all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
But I'll tell you one thing.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
One guy who's getting off Scott Free in this run
for the Los Angeles Dodgers trying to repeat is no show.
Hey o Tani, No show, hey Otani? And the Dodgers
have so many other issues that he's kind of pushed

(06:51):
it aside. Like, first of all, like their starters are great, right, okay,
so people giving praise to them. The bullpen is janky,
so you know, people are focusing on them. They they're
getting timely hits and they're winning. So when you win,
you know, oh yeah, in the case of Mookie Betts,
timely walks which produced runs for the Dodgers. Yeah, that's

(07:15):
how they beat the Phillies. That's how they wind up
beating the Brewers yesterday basis loaded walks. We saw the
comebacker thrown over the catcher's head and beating Philadelphia in
Game three. But the one but the one guy who's
gotten the way Scott Free is the guy who makes

(07:37):
all the money, and that is show. Hey o Tani,
who's been a note show in the postseason. Last year
didn't hit well either, remember oh he got hurt. No,
even before he got hurt, he wasn't hidden. And this
year he's not hitting again, and the Dodgers are winning,

(07:58):
so nobody's pointing any thing towards him. Can I give
you his numbers? Can I give you his number one
for his last twenty.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
You said, Otani or James Franklin Otani?

Speaker 4 (08:14):
I know it sounds like James Franklin stats, right.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
You know what.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
I finally figured it out. James Franklin is Franklin from
the Peanuts Gang. You know what, that's Franklin. I didn't
know his first name was James. That's his last name.
We never heard from him. Taking all our stuff away
from us? Now anyway, don't do that. We can't keep nothing.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
You ever see that Thanksgiving no comic. That's one of
the saddest ones of all. I don't know who did that.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
I kept hoping it was not real because now it's
Reserve and everybody's like, I'm like.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Why what seen it. Franklin is city Thanksgiving. Everybody's all
huddled up and close.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
On one table, and Franklin is at the black table
by hisself.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
It's a it's a sad so wait, confirm it was
not it was It wasn't real.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
No, that's not from the you think the Peanuts did that? Nothing?
All right?

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Just making sure that's not from the I feel like
it was pre Ai people doing that. I was nervous,
I was mad, I was about to do well. I
was about to have a dream y'all going back in time.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
But that's Schultz's character. Why would he do it? No,
I don't believe that.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
But anyway, shoe Hay is a no show, seriously one
for twenty and guess what off of reputation. They keep
walking him in front of Mookie, and Mookie keeps getting
walked and walking in a run. Pitch to the guy,
make him earn his keep, make him earn that seven
hundred million dollar contract that they're paying him for. Last year,

(09:48):
he struggled and they won his fight. They won the
World Series where he didn't pitch and he didn't hit.
This year they're winning, trying to get back to the
World Series.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Trying to.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
I went back to back for the first time since
the Yankees did it in ninety nine two thousand and
This dude is a no show. What has happened? You've
seen some of the swings. Somebody at bats hell? Look
is this on show?

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Hey? Show up, earn your keep, get some knocks.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Enough already riding the wave of everybody else and hiding.
That's what he's doing. Go ahead, defend him, Dodger Homer.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
I'm about to go full Robbie Cochran.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
That's what I call you, your honor. I heard what
the prosecution have to say, but me, as the defense team,
I would like to say I object to the way
in which you are belittling the fact that the man
was walked three times.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
That's a massive part of success.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
If I walk, Barry Bonds, if I'm walking, Mike Trout,
if I'm watching walking, Mark Guire, if I'm walking whoever
you wanted to be, and now in this case show, Hey,
o Tani, that's a massive part.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
You can't. Can you say this with a straight face?
Hold on? Oka? Hit me again?

Speaker 1 (11:14):
False, okay, hit me with the law and order. I'm
not done. Now listen the benefit that he also has
is that it could potentially be another two weeks. And
this is what I mean. Don't cover the no, you said,
James Franklin. Okay, listen, the best part about this is

(11:35):
what'sn't ahead of him, meaning they have minimally seven games
if they were to go to the World Series in
either team won. But he has minimum seventeen three to
win this series and then uh you know for in
the World Series.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Oh there sweeping the World Series minimally even if they
were to lose. I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
But my point is he has a chance to continue
to produce. And I can't lie he ain't showed up
right now. It has definitely been no, hey, no tany
right now. I can't even deny he didn't.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
Even just this year, last last year, last year.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
This year is even worse. No, but all jokes aside,
he's performed badly. Uh they have walked in so that
that has an advantage for him, the Dodgers. But here
here's the other thing too. It's not just the Robs,
just the one for twenty one. It's that how they're
taking full advantage of him on the inside and he's
swinging at everything on the inside.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Swinging everything in the inside.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
They and they have found that that he can't resist
that he's swinging uncharacteristically bad at some things. He's striking out,
he's usually he doesn't have bad outs. Even if you know, yay,
it's part of baseball. You're gonna you hit thirty percent
of something, you're gonna be good. He is having bad
at bats at times, which is unusual. Now this is
where he has the benefit. He still has so many

(12:47):
games ahead of him that we could potentially forget these
first couple of weeks if he ends up batten, you know,
four hundred, the rest of the rest of the postseason,
few home runs, a couple of big plays here or there,
may he steals the base, whatever may be, and we
can forget that because that's just human nature. Dodgers win
the World Series, second half was better for him. All
will be forgotten. What he has been bad. I cannot deny.

(13:10):
There's no arguing he has been bad. The only other
point I make is if he's they slayd him to
get on the mound.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Later this series, he.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Gets on the mound, he gets no the opposite he
throws six, he throws seven, he throws five, but.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Possibility.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
That is a possibility. That also is what makes him
this unicorn and what can save him. So if he
goes out there and throws a six inning gym, maybe
a hit or two, but you know, no runs, goes
out there seven k's again, this is why you paid
the man seven hundred million dollars. So that, thankfully, the
other side of the coin is working because I can't
deny it the at bats right now, I am fabulous,
and Nate Dogg, I can't deny it. It is bad

(13:48):
right now. There's no way around it. And the best
thing for him is that his team keeps winning. That
keeps giving him more chances, more at bats, and more
opportunities to rewrite this, because I can't sit up here
and act like if this wasn't Thereon Judge, we'll be
having some conversations here you go. This was a Rod
in his run with the with the Yankees. We'll be
having conversations. Is this for Mookie. Let's say it was
Mookie prior to show hey coming, when he was the

(14:09):
big star. We will be having this conversation. So he
absolutely deserves some concern. He absolutely deserves some criticism right now.
But fortunately for him. The Dodgers keep winning and he
has more opportunities to change the narrative, but he has
to start tonight again.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Last year I point last week, I should say I
pointed out that the Dodgers bullpen had a chubby e
r ra right in the eighth inning. Well, Otani is
the opposite as far as that. His postseason batting average
is a spelt one eight.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
That's hey, we all headphone eight.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
Noight, all right, we want to hear from you eight
seven seveny come on.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
So hey ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
I've been fighting for you. This man been down in
you all ye, I've been having your back all year.
Hit me with a law and order. Are we waiting?
Are you waiting for show Hay to show up? Because
there's been two postseasons?

Speaker 2 (14:59):
Now? What? What? What's the deal? You have another baby? Am
I missing something? Show?

Speaker 5 (15:03):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (15:04):
How disappointing are you and watching show?

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Hal Tony? And is he not a postseason guy?

Speaker 4 (15:12):
Maybe he's a regular season guy that maybe he can't
perform in those big moments those six years he was
in anaheive he never had to.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Get a chance to play in the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Maybe he's not a postseason guy that Dodgers won a
championship last year where he struggled at the plate. Okay,
an extra dip on your chips. Okay, he at two
thirty last year. They would die to have him at
two thirty. This year he's one hundred almost one hundred
points lower than he was last year and he was bater.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Know what for you and Rob g Okay, the best
part about put the camera on me. The best part
about it is he's gonna have at least seven more games.
He's gonna bat four hundred, hit three to four home
runs and all will be forgotten.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. I'm telling you
show Hey is not for the big stage. He has
not shown on the big stage that he's the same
guy in the regular season. You agree, disagree? We want
to hear from you. It is the odd couple. Eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. On a trash Talking Tuesday,

Speaker 2 (18:42):
On The Legacy eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
who we got? All right?

Speaker 4 (18:45):
Ryan in Minnesota, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
What's up? Ryan?

Speaker 9 (18:51):
Hey?

Speaker 3 (18:51):
How are you doing?

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Doing great? How are you?

Speaker 10 (18:54):
Oh?

Speaker 11 (18:55):
I'm extull, I'm driving through. Uh it's almost like blizzard
conditions right now.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Are you aead Minnesota? Oh?

Speaker 5 (19:02):
Man?

Speaker 2 (19:02):
All right, be safe out there, brother.

Speaker 11 (19:05):
Oh yeah, it's all good. We're used to this up here.
But but no, I just want to say about Otani.
Rob Parker, you you know baseball really well. You're a
sports rider, You're a baseball you get vote for the
Hall of Fame.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
And so.

Speaker 11 (19:22):
Tell me if Otani, like the Batman, average does not
matter that much in terms of if he has home
runs he strikes people out.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
Yeah, yeah, Well he's one for his last twenty, so
he's not hitting any home He got one hit in
his last twenty at Batch.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Ryan. That's all I'm saying. That's not I get that.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
If he if he had four big home runs in situations,
or three big home runs to tie the game and
put to my head and he's not doing anything else.
Then yeah, I'm all for that. But he's one for twenty,
he's last twenty.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
He's still there. I know he has to prefer on
better now.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Again, they keep winning, they keep getting to see another day,
which gives him up. Like, for instance, if they would
have lost, we'd have a bigger conversation than if tonight
he would have messed around to go two or four
hit a home run. Then that obviously can slowly start
the change the narrative.

Speaker 4 (20:13):
All right, Kurt in uh North Dakota, you're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
What's up, Kurt?

Speaker 10 (20:20):
Thank you very much. You guys are the best man.
Nobody else comes close.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Oh, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 10 (20:26):
I Uh, I think that uh o'han o'tani show, he's
a good buddy with the gambling problem. I think he
took the fall for for show.

Speaker 5 (20:33):
Hey.

Speaker 10 (20:34):
I think maybe he was Nano's best for show. Hey.
And because I believe that kind of a people rose
type thing, I I kind of don't really trust that
show he sometimes, you know, so I think maybe there
might be some Shenanigan's going on, you know. So anyways,
that's all I got. But I love you guys. You
guys are the best.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
Right, Thank you, Kurt, appreciate it. Did he go full
conspiracy of mid He said that show hey was doing it?
Show Hey, come on, now took the fall. The only
thing I will question is how that much money's missing
out of your bank account.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
You have no idea. I don't care how much money
you know. You ain't big balling over here.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Yeah, I'm sorry. I don't need him to go a
conspiratorial and X file.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
If I try to take a nine thousand dollars out
of my account, they call me.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
That's because see how you got your glasses on right now?
That's how you look at your bankcount.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Why you can only go to ross and all that
the only time you, oh, how much is it, sir?
Twenty five hundred for Hoodie?

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Bag? It up?

Speaker 1 (21:24):
When Gucci, that's when you act different. When it's Gucci,
you act different.

Speaker 8 (21:28):
I'm not saying no toany's throwing these games, but what
seems more plausible to you that he is uh intentionally
not seeing the ball too well or he's batting like
the worst guy on the roster, the worst guy on
the roster.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
That's more. Okay, yeah, okay, I'm.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Just saying, sometimes, is it not a game when you
you go in these spurts real quick?

Speaker 4 (21:49):
Jabari and Michigan Fox Sports Radio Michigan shut out to Jabbari, what's.

Speaker 9 (21:55):
The how's it going everybody?

Speaker 2 (21:57):
That was great?

Speaker 5 (21:57):
Oh yeah, yeah good.

Speaker 9 (22:00):
You know, Hey, I was I meant to call y'all yesterday,
but I was busy because I still didn't forget that
crap that Rob said that the Lions are not going
to make the playoffs. So you need to just let
y'all know it's still on the board, because you know,
because because I'm ready for Kevin Washington to have throw
a party when Alliance make playoffs.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
J you invited, baby, don't worry about it. You invited.

Speaker 9 (22:19):
Don't worry.

Speaker 4 (22:21):
You'll be invited, just like you were invited to that
Tigers party to go to the one.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
We knew that one. We knew, we knew that.

Speaker 9 (22:27):
One when Oh no, I didn't think the Tigers were
gonna win that series anyway, but but I was up
on night when that when that game was going on.
But anyway, I'll say this, right now by show Sonny
to be personally, I mean obviously he hasn't really played well.
I mean at times, just like last year, like he'll
play good in a series, but not necessarily like the
entire playoffs. But do the Dodgers need him to like

(22:50):
to play well to win the World Series?

Speaker 3 (22:52):
No?

Speaker 4 (22:52):
No, they did it last year, and they did it
last year without right.

Speaker 5 (22:55):
They don't.

Speaker 9 (22:56):
They don't need to now. I would say this, if
you're trying to make a case for him going to
be being the goat for the greatest of all time,
then that's gonna hurt him because if they're winning, but
he's still playing bad in the postseason or average, and
then you're gonna look at him say, wait.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
Could you're good? Jabari one hundred percent? And you notice,
thanks for the call, appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Niitpick.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
When we talk about the greatest, you gotta look fair.
Who did they beat? How did they do in the
playoffs when they clutch? Did they make baskets?

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Whatever?

Speaker 4 (23:23):
Did they get hits? Like, if you're talking about somebody's
the greatest of all time, we hard to start doing
any sport.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
We gotta start niitpicking and fine tooth coming in all
right on the way for Salam. We'll talk to NFL
headlines with him. But right now, Steve, the Seger is
gonna get you set on with trending Hay Steve.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
Thank you, Steve, appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
It is the Oakable Robin Kelvin on a trash talking Tuesday.
About an hour and ten or so away from that
aches and pains like Rob has right now, then they
can sneak up on you during the holiday hustle and bustles,
trying to say when you said it, the leave can
forget help you forget the pain and make some happy
memories instead, which is one pill. The lead provides ump
to twelve hours of body paying relief so you can
keep it moving. Use as director that I ain't gonna lie,

(24:10):
Rob Gi. You're gonna tell him we need to get
a bottle of a leave right here, because I'm not
going There are some days in here I need to
pop on. I'm not gonna lie. All right, Let's get
to our man. We do it every Tuesday during the
football season. Ephram Salam is our guests former NFL offensive
line in Fox Sports Radio Weekend.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Ephram Salamo, X, what I mean, what up doing? Good man?

Speaker 4 (24:30):
I want to go here right off the bathroom last
night jade and Daniels, and I know what we do
in this league when when a rookie quarterback does well,
we're ready to crown.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
And we did it with CJ. Stroud. Oh you know
the Texans are going to the super Bowl the next year. Seconds.
A lot of people's pick right Jay uh.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
And Jadeen Daniels. I mean, I'm not saying we don't
know where he's gonna be or whatever. People where he
had a really good first year, but he made some
big mistakes and they're not winning like they did a
year ago. The big fumble and the interception in the
red zone. He cast him that game last night.

Speaker 5 (25:03):
Ephil, Well, he did and he's still a young player.
No matter how much success a young player has his
first season, we are ready to frown him elite and
the next you know, the second coming of whoever elite
quarterback that is the bottom line is normally young quarterbacks

(25:26):
dip down their second year because teams now defensive coordinators
and teams have a whole year of games to watch
and now they can prepare for him. When you're a
rookie quarterback, you're literally popping up on people and surprising them.
And the way he was able to handle himself and

(25:47):
be poised with the team that hadn't been very good
for a minute was I mean, he's surprised a lot
of people now this second year. You got to remember,
he missed two games, got a little banged up early
in the season, trying to he's running to regain his footing.
Last week was the first week back from his injury,
and so there are some growing pains there. But I

(26:09):
mean everything about him says, you know, a dynamic player
like these A couple turnovers and this this loss against
a Chicago teams trying to find their identity. I'm not
ready to throw Jalen Olga with the trash.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
I'm no, I'm not.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
Doing it either, But I just I think we're quick
to say, like someone's arrived and there's growing pain, that's all.
That's all I'm saying, Like even after our great first year,
he's I'm with you, Rob, We talked about CJ. Stroud,
but I do think he's different. He's more dynamic than CJ. Stroud.
But but people were on the Satway Stroud bandwagon.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
They were and boy they all jumped off that twist
and ankles jumping off of that iram, uh do you
want to join me? And saying we could fall asleep
and we're gonna wake up and it's twenty twenty twenty five.
Whereas the AFC representative in the Super Bowls the Kansassee Chiefs,
Am I crazy?

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Am I wrong? Because I just don't see an AFC team.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
You're the only one who keeps saying that every getting
and the Bills don't worry If I'm the Chiefs, the
Bills don't worry me.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Uh, the Chargers they look good. Yeah, they wouldn't worry me. Obviously.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
The Ravens are not even there with with the mar
being out, so the teams that kind of was supposed
to be there ultimately, the Texans, if you want to
bring them up, Am I crazy? I just feel like
they're getting healthy at the right time. Office is getting
explosive again and they're scary.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
Yeah, they are getting healthy at the right time. But
those teams you name aren't the ones you should necessarily
be worried. But I mean, like I like the Chargers.
I love Justin Herbert and and Harball together. I love
their running game and I love their defense. But don't

(27:49):
forget about the Indianapolis coat. Man. You can say what
you want to about the Indianapolis coast, but if if
people keep waiting for Daniel Jones to be the Daniel
Jones we saw in a dysfunctional New York, then they're
going to continue the steam role teams. I mean, they
can score in bunches, they can put points up, and
Daniel Jones is looking remarkable, So I wouldn't go so far.

(28:13):
It looked the Kansas City is getting healthy, but they
have some things all last year, right them winning all
of those one score games, and what they're not doing
that this year. So if they're not outscoring teams and
putting the hammer down to them, they're going to struggle
in close games. So I wouldn't anoint them as representing

(28:36):
the AFC and the Super Bowl just yet.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
The Chiefs, I mean, the coach, I'm with you, they're
a scary team. Out of the blue. They become scary
here we go.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
You've bet the ball.

Speaker 5 (28:44):
They run the ball as well as anybody in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
You mentioned dysfunction on New York. Let's go to the
other dysfunction on New York team. And I'm here to
say without question that Aaron Glenn is now the black
Nathaniel Hackett, and one year might.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Be another Nathaniel Blackett. You gotta RelA.

Speaker 6 (29:03):
Thaniel Blackett and black coptus. And he can't Bland, he
can't hack it or black it. I'm that team is
bad as bad as the Jets. And you know how
bad they've been all right, from an oh and sixth start?
They had negative teen passing yards last week?

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Uh and when we've we've talked about uh.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
Fields for over and over and over. My god, like
what do you do? They looked awful the Jets.

Speaker 5 (29:36):
They look really bad. And I didn't equate him than
Nathaniel Hackett. I can see the comparison. Mine was more
Brandon Staley the Chargers defensive right, he's a defensive coach.
They couldn't stop anybody, right, And so that's where I
see Aaron Glenn falling into that category of a coach

(29:57):
that they're probably going to give a couple of years
to that. If he looks the Jets are a mess
and they have been a mess, there is going to
take time for him to change the culture. He may
not be the guy for it. It just seems like,

(30:19):
you know, digging your way to China with a with
a toothpick. It seems like an impossible task. And but
the one thing you have to have in order to
do it is the quarterback, and they don't have the quarterback.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
So until then, are you convinced now that he's not
that guy?

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Like serious that guy does.

Speaker 5 (30:46):
What they're doing is they're positioning themselves to pick the
guy whoever that may be coming up in this year's draft.
It's really heavy quarterback draft this year coming out of college.
So he's going to have an opportunity to pick his
guy and then we can start judging him as they
build around whoever that guy is.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
Yeah, they got I mean they might have to get
another guy and then move on. And because they owe
a bunch of money though he got that weird deal
lay of structure with the money.

Speaker 5 (31:15):
Wise, you throw that if you get a rookie quarterback
on a rookie salary, you can throw that money out
the window and.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Last one real quick for me, Baker Mayfield, how real
is this Bucks team?

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Do you buy into him right now?

Speaker 1 (31:26):
I mean, you talk about looking like the Chiefs of
last year, keep winning close games except for this last one,
but winning all these close ones, what do you.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
Make of them?

Speaker 5 (31:35):
Baker Mayfield is my front runner for the league MVP.
And the reason I say that is, no matter what
is going on, you want to talk about leadership, right
we just saw two would come down and throw himself
and the team and the coach under the bus. We
got a bunch of teams that don't really have solid leadership,
especially at the quarterback position. But when you take somebody

(31:56):
like Baker Mayfield, who's down to guys that no one
has ever heard of. I'm talking about practice squad guys
that he obviously hasn't got real reps with in practice,
they're down to their fifth and sixth and seventh receiver,
and it doesn't matter. He is scorching earth with a
bunch of guys named Johnson unrelated who we have never

(32:19):
heard of before, and his leadership is the reason that
team is playing like that. So for me, he's the
most valuable player in the league. This far.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Yeah, we had a conversation about that yesterday. All right,
appreciate you man, Thank you as always, Shake.

Speaker 5 (32:35):
You brothers absolutely, and y'all stay safe.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
No doubt. We got Chuckle City on the way.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Player of the day, and should the Dodgers, even in
a win, have done something differently, We'll ask you that.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Coming up, it is The Oy Couple Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Fox Sports Radio is The Eye Couple, Rob park Kelvin
Washington on a trash talking Tuesday, about an hour or
so away from that, So looking forward to hearing what
you guys to trash. I'm trashing right now, early, I'm
trashing cancer lost Di Angelo, age of fifty one, to cancers.
Amazing artists. If you don't know, go educate yourself. All right,

(33:18):
it is now time for Play of the Day.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
Buffalo adds another man to the front. They're going to
handle Robinson right side through the first wall around the corner.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
Here goes Pshon.

Speaker 4 (33:27):
Robinson keeps his feet thirty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Twenty ten five touchdown Atlanta.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Oh my goodness, I think Be'son Robinson is still running
as we speak right now. He so good that they
named a monst a mustard after Robins. Yeah, bes On, Yeah,
I like that. Honey bees On. Yeah, you guys got
honey bees On up in here. Honey Beeson went crazy
on the bills last night. That was Falcons Radio. That
was your tirereck player of the day. For over forty years,

(33:55):
tire Rack has been helping customers find the right tires
for Howwood and where they drive fast and free back
by free Road has a protection with convenient installation options
like mobile tire installation, tie rack dot com. It is
the way tired buying should be. If you don't think
I'm back and look at what I have for lunch
at USC, I'm gonna tell people what you had today.
You had the two slice combo. Wait, so two slices

(34:20):
of cheese. Did it come with fries too?

Speaker 5 (34:22):
No?

Speaker 2 (34:22):
No, no fries, just two slice slices and a drink
and a drink. That's not bad, That's not that bad.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
No, But I'm just saying two slices too, Slice it
and you ate the crust. Yes, that's how I know
you back because you were just taking cheese all you,
that crazy guy imagine having me. I gotta have a
real serious conversation with you in your eyes and you
just pulling off cheese and pepperoni.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Maybe you don't eat that pizza. It is now time
for secle city nothing. How you doing all right? Two
and one last night?

Speaker 4 (34:50):
Another two and one night, forty one and thirty six.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
There you go. Come on, I'm five games over us. Good.
That's kind of like me in the NFL pickems. No,
you ain't. This past week, I did well. I know
that best bet.

Speaker 4 (35:04):
There's only one game for US tonight, Milwaukee, of course,
hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers. I won actually last night
because it was Milwaukee plus one and a half. Yeah,
so I actually won that bet. Tonight, I'm taking Milwaukee
plus one and a half again. They're underdogs again at
home in game number two.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
You see that study show Yoshi Noble Yellamota right there.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
That's why gadzoom tight. I'm just saying not tonight, tonight. No,
not tonight. I've heard that many times in my life,
but I'm just saying not tonight.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
Not on the Girlden girl cruise. Not tonight, she said, tonight,
because I might not be here them all. Maybe ain't
no time like the present.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
Day's promise, she said, get it in, get it in,
Hold on, baby, let me call my let me see
how my life insurance is for my kids.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
Let me call my trust.

Speaker 4 (36:01):
All right, all right, I got Milwaukee plus one and
a half. That is my best bet. And remember, I'm
not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you
who I bet. All right, Oh there you have it,
all right, Worre you man.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
A lot of people we've had to do this a
few times, Schoolba being one of them.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Leave people in.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
I noticed about Blake Snell and whether or not stop
with the analytics whatever. When the guy's rolling, let him roll.
As soon as he gets in trouble, then you can
make a change. I'm cool with that. I still to
this day was bothered when it took out Kershaw. You
remember he was throwing a perfect game. I do seven innings.

(36:44):
I'm sure those other guys you know that you work
with with spectrum would have.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
Gone crazy like he had eighty.

Speaker 4 (36:51):
Pitchers through seven innings or under eighty pitches Can he
come out for the eighth inning? Can he walk a guy?
Can he give up a hit and then you take
him out? My god? And last night Blake Snow was dealing.
There's no reason and considering where the bullpen is, the
Dodgers got lucky last night.

Speaker 1 (37:09):
They should have lost Game one. So we've talked about
it a million times. And this is where I believe
you can get too involved to you know, analytical as
we talked about, because sometimes you have certain Now I
will say this, there are certain guys who aren't built
like that. But there's certain guys they look at you like,
hey man. And we've seen Blake's Neil already do that
this post, hey man. But we've seen in this he

(37:32):
was mad last time. Again, I think it's against the Dodgers.
When he was with the Rays in the World Series, right,
pitting a no hit on it, right, Yeah, and he's like.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
I'm not coming out.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
So the idea that you have to do something, it's
it's okay.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
He had a no hit of going and then he
gave up one hit and they took him out.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
Yeah, And last night was another one. He was incredible
throughout the night, locked in, zoned, in and as you mentioned,
he gets in the little jam, even a very little jam.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
I'm gonna give him one more time, A give one.
We're talking. I don't care if it's one little bluepo
because you.

Speaker 4 (38:03):
Don't want him, because you don't want him to lose
the game after he's pitched down. And I understand that
part of going to get a guy so that you
don't you know what I mean, like give it up?

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Could you leave him in too long?

Speaker 4 (38:13):
But my god, when somebody's rolling, I'm sorry, like the
throw the analytics the moment, you know, like some guys.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Are built for it. Other guys.

Speaker 4 (38:22):
If if a guy pitches and they hit three rockets
off of him, and you go, you know what, look
at that, they just hit three bullets right at people.
He don't have it. Now you can make that change
and then you could go back when they question you.
There were three hit hard balls in that inning, and
I could see he didn't have the same stuff, And
people can't argue that you can justify.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
It, and I just don't. I just don't think you
have to do that. Sometimes it's okay again, and this
is what happens, you know how they say, trust your
gut We don't have any more of those big gut
managers anymore, right, those figuratively and literally big gut managers
back in the day. Who was like, now I'm a
roll with and he gives you a look, I'm gonna
keep my ace out there.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
And this was that was one of the nice was a.

Speaker 4 (39:03):
Hermit Franks when you need one was with the Chicago
Cubs had to span Dex.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
You need one of them every now and again, you
need to go spit a little bit.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
And he ate plenty of Francs too. I think he
wasn't moving.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
They just sitting there sunflower seasons and hot dogs
