But first let me welcome in my partner. You look

on the NBC the Challenge.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yeah, if you guys didn't get a chance to seeing
you obviously, MLB bro Rob Parker, MLB bro follow him. Yeah,
you you had your full on. You were young somebody,
little somebody.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
I was big day RP. No young RP. I was like, uh,
big daddy paunch. That's what the nickname was. Okay, I
did see that, Actually I did see it. Yeah, you
had the full oad thing. He committed. He had the
ten four, which I know had to hurt the ten
on the teeth. Yes, that's not pleasant, not not good.
You can't really have it go that little Alex. Did
you see the picture or you didn't see it?
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yeah? I did, Yeah, I was just yeah, you committed.
I committed to it. It was fun though. We had
a great time.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
We did our Halloween costumes because our show comes on
every Sunday, so obviously Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
I mean Halloween is what the middle of the week? Win?
Is it? Wednesday?
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Thursdaysday? Thursday? Yeah, so so there you go. But yeah,
you got you got it. Y'all had a good time
up there. I don't know your man Mario was up
there looking like three hundred gladat or something.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
It was Caesar, Hail Caesar. You know time, let's welcome
in the odd couple. Cool because you wouldn't be able
to do this fine radio program without him. Rob g
is our producer, Alex is our engineer.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Is that for you, Alex? Okay, I'm just asking, not
gonna horse, we doubt. I'm sorry you're of the horse? Okay,
wait what was that first thing? The horse? When I
think of a horse, there's only one thing I think about.
Let's keep the job, and it is mister ed.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Okay, I want to say, I mean that's that's you know,
your boy black stallion over here.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
You know that ain't right, but I'm still riding it.
There you go.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
It, Steve, you don't even here that day, Steve, Steve
the Sega's at the anchor desk, will keep us updated.
Throughout the program. And of course Elijah is our social
media Google. He does a great job on social media.
You could find and uh shekel city out on social
media in case you want to get some uh bets.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
In because the seas are gonna have to render his
shekels from you. What's going on doing all right? By
the way, I was in Michigan for a couple of
days and the streets are enjoying the show man. Just
want you to know that the streets are enjoying what
we're doing out here.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
I love to hear that. You know that.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Again, I was running into people and then just unsolicited
and and also you know, some text from different people.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
So people have been enjoying the show. So we appreciate
you as well.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
Let's do this, all right, So we're gonna get to football,
but we got to start here Game three of the series.
First two games, like really, I mean like like you
have like a build up on on on A series,
A Dreams series and LA and New York and Stars
and History and and Story franchise. But they could be updone,
(04:49):
it could be ten up. Then they could be bad
games and you go, I'm not into it, but no,
both games and with the bases loaded in the last inning,
and the Dodgers win because for if we men hits
up Grand Slam the first time ever in baseball history,
and then the Yankees lose because they don't get a
hit with the bases loaded.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
It's unread mean, it's something real both games.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Yeah, you and I have been talking about it for
the last you know, two three weeks or so, and
each series, each opportunity, there's been big at bats where
it's like, all right, this can't happen, it happens. There's
no way it's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
It happens.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
No way, they're gonna come back. They come back, The
Guardians are gonna be the Yankees came back. When the
Guardians came back, and the comeback and the comeback, it
has been spectacular. It has been fun and oftentimes I
think too, like the best thing about sports is when
Rod Parker is gonna watch right, kelvin Washington. It's when
you can introduce to the casual fan like and now
they have new fans, right, we're like, I kind of watch.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
It, but no, that's the best part because of the
star power, well.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
The teams, the franchises, the star power. I mean, you
had the Mets, that's the New York big team, right,
you have the Detroit has been a huge franchise for
one hundred and fifty years.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Whatever they a.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Member to member members only jacket, uh, and they start
to make their run.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
It's just been it's been great, man.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
And you literally like if you walked into we Live
in Hollywood, if we walked up with the script, all right,
settle down. You don't have to oversell it, mister Washington.
You don't have to try to oversell me. Oh you
don't walk up the guy who's injured walks a walk
off Grand Slam.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
You don't have to.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
You know, it's literally been that, and that's what's been
making this spectaculars live in one of the frare times
where things have lived up to the hype.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Yeah, big time. But here we go.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
Game three in the Bronx first World Series game in
New York in fifteen years has been a long time.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
People will be jacked even though they're down oh two.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
And the big story, of course, is show Hey who
I thought. I mean, Dave Roberts, you know, was sticking
up for his guys, saying, hey, he's got the greed light.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
He can run whatever he wants. I don't have a
problem with it.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
But you asked yourself with up with three run lead,
what are you doing steal in the base with two
whiles like it? Just it really didn't factor in. And
of course if he didn't get hurt, no one would
say anything. But when you get hurt, you go, why
are you doing extra stuff that you don't really need?
You didn't need that base, and here they are. The
guy had a separate his shoulder. I'm not sure why
(07:06):
the Dodgers are doing this, but I would not n
ot play show hate today. And here's my reason why
you're up too old. You got a little cushion. You
don't want to put him right back out there. What
happens if it pops back out, swings hard, or something
happens and now he's lost for the rest of the
(07:26):
series or something. Whereas if you give him just the
one you had the day off yesterday, one extra game,
could remember it's game three, four, and five in three
straight days.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
You see what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
So there's no time off, give him an extra day,
shoot him up with whatever you gotta shoot him up with,
and then get him back out there. But I think
this is risky because of you saw the grimace on
his face when he got injured.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
I do think there was part of that that was
a little embarrassed because this is the second time this
playoffs he's tried to get a steal and got picked off,
so obviously thrown out. You know, Uh, he's clearly in pain,
that's what out of doubt, But I do think there's
a bit of embarrassment. He's been pretty much spectacular all
season long. He's been slightly below what he had been
you know, during the regular season. In the postseasons, he's
(08:13):
had some huge moments. So I think he was a
little embarrassed he got he got caught, uh, thrown out,
So I think there was that. But he's fine. He's fine.
I've shot off a few you know what I mean.
He's fine. I saw some text messages. Uh, he's fine.
Is he hurt, Is he nicked up?
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Yes? Is he in pain? Yes? But he's fine. And
I I hear what you're saying, But I think.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
All I'm saying is and people sometimes he's a gamer,
he wants to play, but sometimes you got to do
to step in to stop people because they always want
to play. I don't think that he wants to beg out.
You know, it's the World Series. He doesn't want to
let his team down. But sometimes you have to go
and say, man, we just want to give you one
(08:53):
extra day. We're up to Oh you know what I mean.
We loud your but right back in there tomorrow. We
just need to make sure because if you lose him
for the rest, people will say why did they rush
him back.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
I'm okay with that risk because we're trying to win
a title, because people like Rob Parker will then pooh
pool the Dodgers success over the last decade. Ioo poo,
they don't have this, they don't have a Then they
got one Mickey Mouse title, and then that No, we're
all in. We are committed. Can you play? Yes, i'ma
(09:26):
look you and Yard one more time? Can you play?
I'm good to go. Then let's go out there and
get this. Listen, they got a loaded team. They've had
the depth. That's one thing the Dodgers have had for
the most part of the last this run they've had
is depth. I'm going with that. I totally get your point,
but this is it, man, we got a chance to
go three to zero. History says we're good to go
by the numbers. We absolutely are all in and if
(09:48):
he can play, he can play. And I don't Again,
I don't think he's just hurt. It's not as we
thought in the moment. Well here's the other thing too.
It ain't like he's been lighting it up. He's one
for eight, so he hadn't been playing great.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
So I'm just saying a different if his bat was
instrumental in the reason that you won the first two
games and you feel like nobody else was hitting and
you felt the pressure of doing that, but you're not
in that situation, And that doesn't mean that you don't
want them to contribute.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
I just it means too much, Rob, You know that
just his presence, the way you have to pitch around
him to concern you might have they okay, no, but
they still show.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
Right, That's like if Steph Curries pulls up for a three, like,
oh shoot, his step I know he fends is a
final shot.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Okay, yeah, okay, thank you. I hate that.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Well, that's the one thing we're gonna agree on is
that that's the one thing throughout our NBA he's over twelve.
That's one thing there, and that we're gonna agree, Like
those are facts. Now you're telling me a minute and
a half left in the.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
Game's knock it down, you know that last twenty seconds
ten second.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yeah, we're gonna agree on that. People are gonna get
they're gonna be mad that we agree on that. But no,
I totally listen. You don't want to hurt them, you
don't want to risk it. I'm taking the chances. I'm
trying to win a World Series title and I absolutely
need him out there, even if he's out there giving it.
You know, Freddie Freeman has been banged up all posty
and I mean you saw him have to make some
catches on first base where you're like party, he was like, man,
(11:05):
get this dude out of here.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
He had some man bats early. I don't know how
hurt Freddy.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
Like everyone was was making the comparison to Kirk Gibson,
but I thought that was a stretch from this standpoint.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
He had a triple in the first inning, like like you.
Speaker 4 (11:21):
Know, he went for a triple, Like if you had
a bad ankle, ain't no way you're getting a triple.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
You can't get shots are good many like shooting my
ankle up.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
Like if you go back and watching Kirk Gibson didn't
play because he couldn't move, Like, there's a big difference.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Freddy's in the lineup.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
Kirk Gibson could not play and hobbled up to the
plate and just to get a couple of swings.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
And that's what made that Freddy. Freddy's really banged up.
He really is.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
No, I'm not saying that they called him in. They
bought him. Man, Yeah, he wasn't playing. He walked to
the plate like I don't can't believe it didn't call
me in. I was sitting here spitting out the Sun's
fire season and called me in. I think the guys
are banged up. And it's in any sport, right, I mean.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
It's one hundred and sixty two games, and I know
baseball is in like football, but one hundred and sixty
two games, dude, sometimes doubleheaders, flights banged up this but
I played through it. Now I'm in the postseason. I
go to Game five with the padders. They've been doing
a lot, man, and so I totally understand that. But
I'm absolutely going out there to get it. I need
to show Hey, I don't care if it's just some.
(12:22):
And also I do think it matters that he's not
out there. He's not like I'm hitting and I'm in
the outfield, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
That's the key part to swing the back. It's a
dislocated shoulder. You hope it doesn't pop out again.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
And then if it pops out, we're gonna have to
go like Mail Gibson and leath the weapon. Pop that
thing back in. Bro. You seen Bam slam it in
a card door, slam it or slamming on the wall.
We are absolutely puitching he the minute I looked at
that man and he said, I'm good. We good, and
he's absolutely playing. The Dodgers are on a mission and
they there's no way if he's seventy sixty five percent,
(12:56):
we're going.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
I don't know about you, but if I was Dave Roberts,
I would show Hey him to the bench for Game three,
showing him to the top of the lineup. Here you go,
here's home plate. You're up first, all right?
Speaker 4 (13:07):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Speaker 2 (13:13):

Speaker 4 (13:15):

Down Bronx. Are the Dodgers making a mistake by letting

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Oh boy, man, you have me because you have some
classic moments for sure. Eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox is the number you need to lock that in.

Hey O Tani should he play shitty?
Speaker 5 (14:10):

Rob says, don't play show. Hey, I say the show
must go on.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
Who we got Dwayne? In Ann Arbor an Arbor, Fox
Sports Radio? What you got Dwayne?
Speaker 6 (14:47):
How are you hellas sellers? What's up?
Speaker 4 (14:50):
Rob?
Speaker 6 (14:50):
What were Calvin?
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Was just said an Arbor last week?
Speaker 6 (14:55):
A A A bro go Lions. Hey, what I think
is because they have to zip. I think they got
enough where they can send them out one game now.
If they lose and he's healthy, then I would play him.
But I'm with Rob on this one. I would set
him man. And I wanted to say one other thing
(15:16):
to you guys, a little side. No, So have you
guys ever laughed so hard that you cried and fell
on the floor. That's the best guys have done that? Okay,
So did you guys get a look at that Dwayne Wade's.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
Statue looking you know we got that coming out that?
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Yeah, all the way, we got that coming up.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
Hey Chili, Tim in Atlanta, Fox Sports Radio, what's up, Tim?
Speaker 5 (15:42):
Yo?
Speaker 6 (15:42):
Whatever?
Speaker 7 (15:43):
Vin was going up?
Speaker 6 (15:46):
My wife is currently over whok knowled Japan Visions and
our daughter the station then maybe and you know, so
he's like his Dodger GeV over.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
There crazy already know that.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
Shout to your daughter, thank you for service and you yeah, absolutely,
And you know this. They got fifty reporters from Japan
over covering his every movie.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
It's amazing. That's incredible to see. Yeah, what you got
for us.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
But I'm gonna play it. And this is why I
say this, because if you go up three to oh,
psychologically that's almost backbreaking.
Speaker 7 (16:21):
And the reason why I take that chance is because
I don't need him to go up there and go
three for four five. But if he gives me one
timely hit they can win that game three.
Speaker 6 (16:32):
I think it's worth it, and I take.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
The chance, all right.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
My only point is if he gets if he re
injures that shoulder and you don't have him the rest
of the series, that's the part.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
That's all.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
I understand what you're saying. Thanks Tim. Chris in Tallahassee, Florida,
you're on THEYD couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
What's up, Chris, what's going on? How are you?
Speaker 8 (16:55):
I'm good, I'm good, No, man, I'm with you, Bro.
I wouldn't play them before, you know, if he gets hurt,
the whole series changes. Like from a pitch the standpoint.
If I know what, Connie, he didn't take it, I
gotta change, I gotta I gotta think about that. I
can't let this guy get on. Get what I'm saying.
I'm a little bit more relaxed if he's not in
the lineup because I can pitch, I don't. I don't
(17:17):
have to pitch around him. You get what I'm saying.
I'm a little bit more relax If you lose him,
my bullpen, my bullpen strategy changing, everything changes.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
Everything would change if he's yeah, I mean, you would
obviously put Mookie as the leadoff hitter, and you have
to make it justment to make it.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
But you don't want to lose a guy like that.
And that's my only thing. And I'm not saying don't
play the rest of the series.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Just check it next to that next but here, So
I think ninety seven appreciate the call. I think are
with you. I just think he's not as hurt as
we once thought. And like I said, you know, I've
checked in with some people. He's not as hurt as
they thought. That that to me is I.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
Think that that.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
I hear that all the time. They put Kevin Durant
out there and with the Warriors. No, no, no, but
they but the doctors cleared him a definite no. I
mean they said he was okay to play Chris and
I said on this show and were like, what are
they doing? There's no way he should be out there.
This is this is different. I'm just I know what
you're saying.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
It got clear.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
He got clear by the doctors of the Warriors, is
all I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Yeah, he's actually show hey is not as as hurt
as we thought. And I get that's not crazy to
want to sit him out, But I also know you
lose a game. Now it's two to one, which you
can still lose him if you play. But I want
to take my chances with him out there. He means
too much. He's too scary for a picture. Who else
Andre in Massachusetts? You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
What's going on?
Speaker 9 (18:36):
Thanks for taking the call. Listening the Dodgers, they know
what timed is. They got to strike water iron is hot. Rob,
We've been here before. We know what happened in ninety
six when the Yankees was down two zero against the
Atlanta Braids. Well, remember how that went. Atlanta Braids came
into the rugs. I believe Andrew Jones had three jacks
in the first game. They serve noticed. The Yankees held strong,
(18:56):
came back to win the series. Okay, and the last
two World Series teams that's gone up too oh had
ended up losing this series. So if I'm the Dodgers,
no way know how it's time to get this third victory.
If possible, awesome fans are gonna be there, the whole
world's gonna be there. Show Hey, he's a phenomenon. But
they go into the cold weather environment right now. That's
a big advantage Yankees and Dodgers. You can do your
(19:17):
thing out there on the West coast, Sonny seventy degrees,
it's gonna be fifty forty degrees. Huge advantage for the
Yankees in Game three and at home. So I think
if I'm the Dodgers, I need own hands on deck
to keep this I forget.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
That, Dre. I mean, that's not a bad argument.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
I'm just if you lose him and he reinjures that shoulder,
you'll say, why did you rush him?
Speaker 2 (19:37):
With it too old? I don't think. I'm just that
the world you the worst case scenario, And thanks Dre
for the clock. What you're saying is not like, that's
not crazy.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
And let me say this to you, yeah, because we
I said this with the Jets and Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
The first year. Oh yeah, yeah. They didn't have a
backup ready, had Zach Wilson.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
And I said, you have to always think about the
worst case scenario. Not we got Aaron Rodgers. What happens
if the thirty nine year old quarterback gets hurt?
Speaker 2 (20:06):
What do you do?
Speaker 4 (20:07):
And they weren't ready, and that's why, that's why last
season was a waste. And now you know they hear
where they are. But I'm just saying, you always got
to think of what's the worst case scenario.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
That's it I'm looking at They say Dave Roberts. Of
course injuries not problematic because his back shoulder. Yeah, I
think he's fun, but I told they get it one
more call. We got Kevin keV Kevin cuob City, what's up?
Speaker 5 (20:28):
keV?
Speaker 2 (20:29):
God is good all the time?
Speaker 7 (20:32):
Andre? Why did you talking about? Dodgers just beat the
Meds ten and one in the same conditions last week
New York.
Speaker 6 (20:39):
They won two games.
Speaker 7 (20:40):
They blew up the bench stop with all that. Look
he has range of motion. Dave Roberts said, that was fine,
And it's the playoffs post seedson Otani has never played
in the postseason. It's the World Series with the Dave Roberts. Robertson,
are you good? And he gave him that launch stator
from any Givens Tony that quarter, so you know what,
he's ready to go. You gotta get it done. You
(21:00):
don't want to You have to yank and get any
momentum and then win three in a row. You want
to put on them and go up three games to zero,
and then you got the bull platem next and got
Jack Claerty. You gotta win while you got the chance
to win the Bookie down for.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
Cav I get I get that. But if you lose him,
then we just lose him.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Rob. If you just him, you'll go what did they do?
I'm gonna go now did they rush him back? Oh?
My god.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
You ack like it's an NBA finals where there's a
day sometimes two three days out between games. It's twenty
four hours, meaning like okay, one day really didn't do anything.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
I'd give you two three exs, but no, they had
the Monday off. Is what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
Right, you have what I'm saying. If he didn't play
today versus in playing two, I mean Sunday off. I
keep taking Today's that Sunday off.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
They played Saturday night, had Sunday off, and now if
you give him Monday, then you're back Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
It's all I'm saying. We're going to win this thing.
That's what, absolutely what we're doing.
Speaker 8 (21:55):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
You know the other person who's back home who has
not been performing, well, we got to see what's up
with your man's we'll talk about that.
Speaker 5 (22:02):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 1 (22:14):
Having a conversation about Game three here coming up about
thirty minutes or so away. They got the guy right
there who I want to talk about on the screen there,
and that is Aaron Judge, I told Rob g Im
calling him, Aaron, I'm judging you right now, Aaron, I'm
judging you because he has been very underwhelming this postseason.
But then the issue is he's been underwhelming pretty much
(22:36):
any postseason game, postseason run that he's been a part of.
And it's one of those things that's perplexing. We've talked
about it, Gion, Carlos Stanton. Some have some solid seasons,
then all of a sudden he becomes a maniac and
goes crazy in the postseason. Aaron Judge, MVP, MVP fifty
something home run, sixty home runs, and all of a sudden,
he's looking shook out there.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Man, he's looking nervous.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
He looks like he's I'm not ready for the pressure,
and I'm concerned that he's one of those persons. I
give him credit for acknowledging that he's playing pro poorly
and he needs to step it up.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
He said.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
Other guys are stepping it up. I need to step
it up. But I don't know if he's built like
that where some guys actually succeed and thrive in that pressure.
Right then they wait for that moment. I don't know
of adding more pressure on him back in New York.
Down two games, you need this game. I don't know
if that actually is gonna help him, because for what
(23:28):
we're seeing, it hasn't. He has been sub himself for sure,
and it's not like like you mentioned, show Hey, this
series thus far one for eight. Well, he's had some
other big moments throughout this postseason. Aaron Judge right now
again is struggling. He's looking shook out there, he's striking out.
He doesn't seem to be himself. If you look in
his eyes, he doesn't seem to be there. He doesn't
(23:50):
seem to have it right now. So it'll be interesting
to see what he's able to do. And now he
is an MVP winner, one of the best hitters of
the last twenty five thirty years, all time, really, but
I don't expect him to be terrible this whole series,
whether it goes four or seven. But he's got a
he They need him, They need him to be eighty
percent of him his normal self.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
All right.
Speaker 4 (24:11):
So if I said to you, this Hall of Fame
center fielder, one of the greatest players of all time,
had ninety nine played appearances in the postseason and had
just one home run and six total extra bases. Would
(24:33):
you believe that's Willie Mays. That's what Willie Mays's numbers were.
I'm just trying to give you. I'm gonna give you
a long I'm gonna get you. I'm gonna give you
a long history of players, great players, and this has
happened for whatever reason.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
I mean, Mookie was one of them. MOOKI right, he
had that ozer for twenty two stretch.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
Jackie Robinson struggled in the postseason a rod for a
long time until two thousand and nine years he lead
the Yankees to that World Series. He had nothing but
big hits. Mike Schmidt. I could go on and on
and on, Barry Bonds, Okay to give you and I'm
not I'm just trying to give you like this is
more commonplace than you think. Where guys Clayton Kershaw, we
(25:15):
talk about him all the time, Clayton Kershaw until he
finally won that that championship in twenty twenty.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
How many meltdowns in the nervous We've six to seven
inning with Clayton, You'll be I'm a lot so nervous.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
The other one, I just wanted to give you was
the Barry Bonds.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
Yeah, and Barry Bonds about two three and four different appearances,
you know, a postseason, current appearances. And then in two
thousand and two he had four to seventy one against
the Angel Now, the Angels won in seven games, and
they didn't win the World Series.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
But it wasn't because of Bonds.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
He had four home runs and batted four to seventy one,
but the team's pitching let him down.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
So yes, Aaron.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
Judge, the little bit I think that could help him
is that he had a big home run in Cleveland.
They didn't win that game, but you remember he had
tied the game, uh with two outs and a home
run the other way against uh class a right one
of the best closer in baseball. Now he hasn't been
(26:18):
able to capitalize that. Getting back to New York, maybe
he looks like he's he's getting pitches to hit, he's
just missing them, and uh, he needs a big one,
like if he would have get if he would have
get off and hit a home run in his first
Yankee Stadium appearance, if he strikes out here, and the
fans are gonna start booing because they're already pissed that
(26:39):
he hasn't been performing, but you know that can turn
on one swing of the bat and that's what he needs.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
But I'm with you, it's weird that happens, and you
and I have been watching it.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
I mean, there was a point when Mookie we were
concerned this postseason had a little weird you know, three.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Games or so, and you remember he couldn't hit with
when he was Yeah he could. So he's the leadoff
and you're like, well, what are we doing?
Speaker 1 (27:01):
He's gotten better at that, but yeah, you're looking at
one sub two hundred for Aaron Judge right He's back
in one ninety nine right now, which is not gay
six for forty this postseason. At this postseason alone, he's
at one fifty. I was saying one ninety nine was
for his career, one fifty. This one. It's bad right now. Man,
he's striking out And again, like I said, he's acknowledged it.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
He said, I definitely got to step up. I got
to do my job.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Guys around me here doing their jobs getting on base,
and I'm failing them. But I just wonder, and we've
talked about it too. Everybody's approaches different. Some guys when
the pressure's on, they show up. Stanton has done that
to just stick with that team. Soto has done that
throughout this postseason as well, and so that's that becomes
scary Labor Torres as well as well. He's actually done
(27:47):
it a lot, And so you get concerned, like, man,
we can't win without you because we kind of go
into things depending on you, you know what I mean,
Like we got you, bam, okay, check, we got that,
we got this, and then it's like, all right, now
you're forced guys who aren't necessarily those players to have
to fill in for you while you're struggling. So to
your point, listen, let's say this game goes six or
(28:09):
the series goes six or seven, he ends up with
three home runs.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
If he has a big run, they win the World Series.
You know, end up winning.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
For will completely forget remember that one he ball in
the game for me, and we'll be fine. But he
he need They need him, They absolutely need him right now.
He's a big part of what they do.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
The saving grace has been stand that who'd been out
been outrageous.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
So it kind of and and and you've seen it.
Speaker 4 (28:36):
So seventeen career postseason home runs for stand up amazing,
which which is crazy and picking up the numbers.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
And then what happens is.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
Even in the rally on on Saturday night, Judge strikes
out and Stan hits a ball off the third base bag,
you know what I mean, to keep the rally going.
So had Judge made out and Stan made out, then
it would look even worse for Judge.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
But the rally, the bases got loaded, and it wasn't
know what.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
I mean, guy, and he's supposed to be the guy. Uh,
and it's not necessarily happening for him right now. So again, uh,
it's it's just gonna be interesting. But he's got plenty
of time. You're gonna get four to five at bats today,
make some plays, and you got you know, potentially seven games. Uh,
the series can go to to to do it. But
you're mentioning it. Listen, if he has a bad game today,
if he's even if he gets a hit but it's
(29:24):
just a single and he goes one for four and
there's some run he left runners on base, that's about
we're gonna start boring, especially if they're getting down six,
one sixty two.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
If he strikes out to like early they will the
boot birds will come out New York. You know that
is not shy for booing they when he started the
season this year was terrible.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
In April, they booed him.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
Then he had that bad stretch, Remember, didn't he went
all those games with fourteen games when he when it
looked like he was gonna break his own record in
the American League, and then he went fourteen games without hitting.
Speaker 4 (29:50):
Now, the only thing is when he does hit start
hitting home runs is usually in bunches.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
So if they can scared that and they walker Bieler
better cannot have a day off, that is for sure. Uh.

Daily against the scrap.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
All right, a little Shekel City. This is a special
New York edition of Shekel City.
Speaker 4 (31:11):
I was one and two on Thursday, the last time
we got the Friday, I was at the ball game.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
Forty fifty and two is the record.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
But tonight best bet Yankees minus one and a half runs.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
I think the Yankees bounce back get into the series.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
I also have the Giants plus six against the Steelers.
Steelers winning the game, which the Giants close, keep it close,
and they lose by four or five.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
Russell Wilson going crazy. Man, you're this man because everybody's
loving rushing. Also, what are you doing that game? Now?
You got me going for the Giants? Come on, Dianson
and your guys sitting there never to see the field again.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
Coming back, he coming back, he gonna see the fields
like his last name.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
I'm taking the Knicks minus two and a half. They're
hosting the Calves at Madison Square Guarden.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Calves are three and zero. So there you go.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
Uh So we got the Nicks minus two and a half,
New York Team, Giants plus six the New York team,
and the Yankees minus one and a half of New
York Team.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Rob question, Yes, have you ever bet against the Yankees?
Speaker 4 (32:11):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (32:11):
I have, yes, just not tonight. And we look at
I don't believe you.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
Elijah does it the post of a social media just
give me a hot Yeah, okay, thanks Elijah.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
There you go. Yeah, what once? Was it against the metson?
And remember I'm not telling you who to bet on.
What I'm telling you who I bet on? All right,
real quick, little football.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
Of course, we got Monday night coming up and everybody,
our eyes are going to be on Game three World Series.
But I did want to talk sling on likeatics. He
got a slan people who show heyes who we're talking about.
He's running out. He's got a little sling on. He
liked a little dramatics. You know what I mean, it's
good to play. What do you got to your New
York you're New Yorker. What do y'all talk about every
(32:57):
time Willis Reed coming out knee brace on, limping about that.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
Coming out the tunnel? Let him have as Willis read
moment rob First I thought he had on one of
those men men fancy.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
Bags across to no disrespect us, like that fancy bag,
fancy bag I am.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
I know now he's.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
Paul Pierson, he's on the little and he's coming out
with Willis Reed.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
You know what I mean? Let him go and yeah,
let him go, uh.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
You know, take care of what he got to take care. Yeah,
he put a little extra sauce. We call it putting
a little extra sauce on it. He's putting a little
extra sauce because like, dude, if you're playing, why is.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
The sling on? Right? At this point? You can sling
it off.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
You can sling it all day, but you can't come
out here with and show.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
Hey, old right and he's got a jump on the cover.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
Come on, you milking a little bit shy. Now I
know he's getting a home run. Now I know he's
putting it. I was pitching.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
He ain't getting no home run on I'm just saying
he'd have to jump out of the way at his
first at bat.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
Don't don't be hitting my guy.
Speaker 6 (33:55):
Man.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
I didn't say hit him.
Speaker 4 (33:57):
I'd make him uncomfortable in the box on the very
first pitch. I wish you would swing up the first
pitch trying to hit a home run.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
Right.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
You know he is to you about your lions, because
we'll talk about.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
Do talk about the game. We got plenty of time.
Don't disrespect my lions like that. Don't have me trying
to rush through my lions. All right, we don't want
to spend that.
Speaker 4 (34:15):
I want to spend the next ten minutes talking about
the lives ten minutes.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
And this has nothing to do with the fact that
that's my team. All Seriously, they're the best team. Hold on,
so you're telling me they're not the best team in
football right now? They are the absolute best team. They're
demolishing in me and everybody. The point differential there plus
one hundred. I don't care who's in my face. They're
(34:38):
running through everybody. And Jared Goff is in the MVP race. Now,
I'm not saying, you know, I'm still Lamar. I'm the
Lamar guy in that sense that Lamar Jackson is outstanding,
and they lost the game they shouldn't have lost, which,
by the way, is partly why I think it is
the Lions. The Ravens keep losing games they shouldn't lose.
They shouldn't have lost us and and they also should
(35:00):
have lost to the Raiders. And you know how I
feel about the Ravens. So this isn't a YA division
on the Ravens division rivals.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
Sometimes those games just like always, just like the Lions
could lose to Green Bay or Chicago and they're not
close games.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
Yes, But what I'm seeing the Lions, man, I just
love to see, you know how the season before it
can be the team they lost in the Super Bowl.
Right now, we're coming back, We're about to do our thing.
We're gonna avenge it. I love what I'm seeing from
the Lions, and that they lost the game they should
have won, and Dan Campbell was largely responsible, not singularly,
but largely responsible for that loss for the Lions against
the forty nine ers. I love that they've come back,
(35:34):
single minded focus and they're playing outstanding football. They're committed
to what they're doing playing their game. They're running the ball.
Jared Goff is in insane when it comes to completion percentage.
It's absolutely ridiculous what he's doing right now, seventy plus
percent passing rats a percentage. I mean, they look right now, poised,
(35:55):
focused and determined to get back to the NFC Championship game.
The defense has been playing batter better than I expected,
so to me, yeah, right now, they're the best team
in football. If you're the Chiefs, you could say to me, Kelvin,
we're seven and zero, we're reigning champs, and I would
not be mad at that. But for my money, right now, man,
I love what the Lions are doing. And I just
love the way they're putting their foot on people's throats.
(36:17):
You know how many times bad teams come in to
town and you ignore them, the bad team, and you
barely beat them by three a field goal four or
let them stick around. They're crushing people. They were up
forty two to fourteen like a halftime against the Titians,
and I love that beat the heck who you're supposed
to beat and win these games? Man, So I'm loving
what I'm seeing from them again, they've came in focus,
(36:39):
they're not letting down, and it's the conference is theirs
to really to own. I don't know who's better than
them in the NFC, so to me, they're cooking. The
forty nine ers obviously a big.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
Win, but they got a lot of bad They got
a lot of lopsided wins against bad teams, and I'm
not I'm not knocking it, but that doesn't validate you
or make you the best team. Everybody beat the Cowboys badly.
Everybody so they beat the Cowboys. Okay, that wasn't a
real measury stick. The Titans are god awful. They beat them.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
They all.
Speaker 4 (37:11):
At the time that they beat them. I mean, like
the teams that they beat, and I'm not impressed. The
only win is Minnesota
