His sister mom said how much I mean to this
guy and Malik yeh, and I made the effort got there.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
He was so surprised. He was surprised.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
He was overwhelmed because he had no idea most of
the time on a surprise party, ain't coming. Yeah, something
going on. He was genuinely surprised. So it was a
great time, and I was glad I was able to
make it. And also got to go to the Yankees
ools game. Only I would go to a baseball game
before the party.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Hang out with log justticks in the magic Now, okay,
the Oreoles which is in the DC air.

So you were over to Baltimore, right, and then the
party was in Maryland as well.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Well, you know what you should have did.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
You should have just stayed there and watched the Lions
Ravens where you're out there in Baltimore, had your nice
little crab cake.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
You know I feel about crab cakes. I love them.
I had a ratio. Are you paying me for the day?

Speaker 1 (03:18):
No? But you know how you do? You gotta all connect.
You know, I was doing radio ninety eight. My partner
now is in Baltimore, so I used their stage show.

Speaker 8 (03:26):
Right.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
You know you who did not work Who didn't you
work with? I can't believe I checked the box now. Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Yo, my guy man k Dub Kevin Watson, Yeah, I
used to do radio with him.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Now I'm part of the list. You are part of
the list. There's a long kind of list. Is this
when you work for forty years? There's a long list. Man.
I'm telling you can sit here and name everybody I
can't one day.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
One day, Rob d asked me a segment where we
just ready everybody everywhere, we just like try to see
how many people we can name in a minute. See
we can get to like forty names in a minute
that you've worked with. Unbelievable. All right, it is a
magic city Monday. As I said, I had a great weekend.
Thanks you for asking.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
What you see what I mean?

Speaker 1 (04:01):
I'm sorry, Well, I'm glad we at YouTube now you see.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
So I asked you about my guy, ain't man good truths?
You said you didn't do anything a weekend.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Oh, I had this amazing trip and they were so
excited to see me, and wow, he was so surprised.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Only when I came, not the cake and not another
I didn't say all that. That's what you said.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
I had a great week I had an amazing time
out at Dodger Stadium, my last pre and post game
of the season, unless obviously anything happens, uh, you know,
emergency they need me. But a great time out there,
a great win and uh, and then the family and
stuff hung out on the weekend.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
But thank thanks for asking. Yeah, I'm sorry, you know, No,
I'm sorry. I'm glad.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
You you care. You know, I'm just glad it's a team.
You know, here we are one year in. You're just
thinking about each other and making this thing work.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Very back. Oh god, you know I couldn't even get
to the weekend. How was it? We let me tell you,
it was so amazing.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Oh he was so excited, he says, screw all these
other gifts, Rob, she made it to my birthday.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
All right, Let's walkover to the Odd Couple crew on
this Magic City Monday, because you wouldn't be able to
do this fine radio program without a Rob G as
our producer, Steve the Sager's at the anchor desk to
keep us updated.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Elijah who is our social media Google? Yes? Who Elijah? Uh?
And of course on the ones and twos? Why yeh bug?
All right, and there we go.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
H A lot of stuff to get to, obviously, with
the football over the weekend, and uh, Rob G, let's
start with the Chiefs and Giants Sunday night football.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Just a snoozer, just a just a just another Oh god,
it's bad enough with the Giants, but now you.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Gotta watch the Chiefs too. Uh.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
Just a terrible football game. But anyway, Rob G. I'm
just saying, I'm just trying.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
To keep it real. Rob G, what'd you get out
of this? Uh game? She's got their first win. That's
when I got out of it.

Speaker 9 (06:01):
They were zeroing to now they're one and two, feeling
good about themselves. And you mentioned it was not a
high octane, high scoring game, twenty two to nine in
the final score. But if you're a Chiefs fan, you
reason optimism for two reasons. Number one, eight of fifteen
on third down. They were money when they had to be.
Patrick Mahomes looked about as good as he had all season.

(06:21):
You know, missed a couple of passes, but overall look
pretty well. Here's Patrick after the game though, talking about
this Chiefs offense.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Right way.

Speaker 10 (06:30):
Kind of struggled there at the end of that second quarter,
but was able to get points at the end. But
it was just finishing the drives. And I think that's
something that's important in this league is getting touchdowns on
phield goals. And we scored touchdowns. It looks a lot
better than when you're kicking long field goals.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
They had nine points in the first half against the
New York Football johnt not nine points. I mean, what
more do you want from the Kansas City Royals?

Speaker 4 (06:51):
Okay, okay, that might be your best line in the year.
That's that's about. That's about. Yeah, I got angry.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
I thought we was talking about the Royal Giants game
does Santis? Wasn't it? That was awful? But you know what,
Fred not.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Because the dink and dunk era is almost over. We
got about two more weeks, Rob, the dink and dunk
era will be over. Patrick Mahomes, I ain't saying to
be twenty eighteen, nineteen, twenty twenty all over again, but
it'd be somewhere in the middle of the dink and
dunk we'dne had for a couple of years. And that
Patrick Mahomes, We've talked about it a million times. You've

(07:27):
heard me mention the third down, the big conversions. He's
the best. That's why all these you know, when you
have all these lists, they always put him number one
because when it comes down to a play, when it
comes down to a game, he typically has gotten it
done throughout his career. But I was watching that game, Rob,
and you know, I've been keeping it real with you.
That something to look off someone right about this team.
They've been winning games, but you're gonna need to be

(07:49):
able to be more competitive, be more explosive at some point.
And I've even questioned why the personnel, why won't they
bring in some more explosive people. But ain Get then
find one, and my man, I'm calling him t T
T Tisel, Tae Kwon Thornton. You know what, I've never
seen more optimism and misthrows than I have ever seen
from Patrick Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes and not come into this

(08:09):
season thinking that Taye Kwan Thornton was gonna be a thing.
He thought he was gonna have them maybe last year
of Travis Kelcey. Obviously, he thought he was gonna have
Xavier Worthy back to do his thing. He thought he
was gonna have her she Rice back to do his thing.
But Dagget even found a deep threat finally, And I'm
telling you what I was watching Tay Kwon Thorton in
the last couple of games. He's caught a couple of

(08:30):
deep ones, caught a couple of touchdowns, and he is
starting to be that explosive weapon they need.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
When knowing Rashid Rice is.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
About three weeks away or so, he's everywhere they should
be back next week as well. You're starting to get
these guys back and starting to get the offense that we.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Look like and go, oh, that looks familiar.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
That looks like the Chiefs of old And so I
got some optimism watching that because I know what you
got in your Taekwon Thornton. All of a sudden, you
got a deep threat again, all of a sudden. Of course,
we know Patrick Holmes continues to find ways on thursds
out and he's been using his leg like crazy, not
so much this past week for the first two weeks,
running guys over to the point of hey, hey, hey,
we need you, don't need you low on the shoulder

(09:08):
like that. But the fact that they got Rashid, Rice
and Worthy getting ready to come back along with Taekwon Thornton,
which is kind of a diamond in a rough a
great fine for them. Now you're looking at an offense
that might become explosive again. And the Denk and Dunk
era obviously, you gotta do what you gotta do some games,
but is gone and Dagget they can resemble. Meet me
in the middle of twenty and twenty and twenty twenty four.

(09:31):
Find me somewhere up in the middle of there.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
I don't know what game you were watching, and you
need to change check your streaming system because I didn't
see that. I saw Patrick Mahomes. You know, you can
make all the excuses. I'm so tired when they.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Oh they did you keep dropping the ball.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
As if Patrick Mahomes is the only quarterback that that
receivers receivers have dropped the ball, and last night he
missed receivers.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
He missed them.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
That has nothing to do with worthy of who else
is coming? Are they getting a new quarterback? I'm just
twenty two points against the Giants were got off of
no kicking game.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
I don't know what Russell Wilson was doing.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
In the red zone that down there where like throwing
balls to.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Who people in the first row thought the mac I
don't know what that was. I didn't see it. I
see a team.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
You think that Kelsey watched what you watch and that's
why him and Andy Reid had came to blows.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Andy Reid loaded his shoulder into Kelsey. Did you see that?
I mean, I thought, you know it was like.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Kelsey was touching his apple pie at the end of
his meal or something. You know what I mean, Like, so,
so you mean to tell me that Kelsey was so
you know, uh excited about what you saw in the
offense that him and Andy Reid had to go at it.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
The offense isn't good.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
They struggled nine point three field goals against the New
York Football Giants. The Chiefs used to destroy teams like this,
and it's not the same. And it's not just the
pieces part. Patrick is a part of this. Stop giving
him a pass. This is not the same quarterback for

(11:15):
three years now. My god, when are people gonna wake
up and look at what's happened? They had to beat
the Giants, My good. Really, they weren't gonna beat the Giants.
If they didn't beat the Giants, we could cancel the season.
So they were gonna beat them. But after the first
half nine to six, you looked at that and go, oh, yeah,
here they come. It's gonna be it. Here they come.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
I don't see it. I don't see that from I
don't see that from last night's game. I don't you
mentioned Travis Kelsey. Absolutely, that's why he was angry because
he knew there were plays who left be desired, including
obviously last week when he drops the one in the
right heading towards Endzo ends up betting it.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
It was an interception. I don't want to hear that.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
You know what, patrih you know, interceptions or interceptions.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
You know, that's what I'm saying. They're leaving points out
on the board. And he knows that. That's why he
was mad exactly. And I'm mad that we're leaving poets
out on the board is what he's saying. He's mad
that they're leaving these points and they're leaving opportunities out.
And they got it better, got it going better in
the second half. But the reason I bring that up
is because of what you just said. You don't buy
I do. I totally buy it. The personnel once they

(12:19):
get they already have. You know, a couple of receivers
are more possession type receivers. They need a deep threat.
That's what we've talked about. There's no explosiveness. We've seen
the stats. This is the lowest. Patrick Mahons was terrible
when it comes to deep throws and having those explosive plays.
I saw Tiger Taekwan Thornton and I know Rashid Rice
is coming back from suspension, and again guys like exec
you Worthy and I see th different levels of dimensions

(12:41):
of opportunities with receivers and explosion. And that's what to me,
I would be excited about if I was a Kansas
City Chief fan or Patrick mahonmes No, this is what
I have coming back, and I might have found something
in Taekwon Thornton.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
This is why I think I.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
Heard about Tom Brady is it doesn't matter who's playing
like like he makes everybody better. And you're telling me
now that Patrick Mahomes, who supposedly was in this got conversation,
now needs to have Worthy and these other people in
order for him to be a good quarterback.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
That's what he needs, exactly what he needs in order
for him to want to understand it anything remotely like rageous, Yes,
because he got the job done to tune and fifteen
and once was in fifteen and one with him starting
last year.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
So he can't get.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
The job done, he can't won games. But did he
play well? I'm asking you did he play well? I've
said he was saying it's not for a year of
us doing the show. He does exactly what he needed
to get the job done to win the game.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Well, I'm just asking you do you think he played it?
Absolutely did not play it to his standards. When you're
coming just looking at the statistics, but knowing his offensive
line was great, not great, and knowing that he was
something else, that's what you're doing. You would just and
that's the difference between people win. It doesn't matter, but
that's players. That's literally the difference between teams who can win.

(13:59):
They know my defense isn't this great, or my offensive line,
and you make adjustments. My receivers aren't this great ast year,
or I don't have a running game. I mean, you
look at Lamar Jackson a couple of seasons ago when
his entire running back field was injured, and he still
switched it up and found a way to win. That's
what good to great quarterbacks do. The situation will never
be perfect. How do you adjust to get wins? We

(14:20):
talked about that with Jalen Hurts. We'll talk about a
little bit more with him. He's been able to find
ways to win. That's what the good and great ones do,
and that's what Patrick Mahomes had to do last year.
But this year he's a matter of a few weeks
away from No. Longer having the Deacon dunk Mark my.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
Words eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Did you
come away from last night feeling better or worse about
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs Offense? We'll continue that conversation
next with you. It is The Odd Couple on a
Magic City Monday, Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington right here on

Speaker 11 (15:34):
Well, you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women

Speaker 2 (16:15):
It is the Odd Couple on the Magic City Monday.

A leave provides up to twelve hours of pain relief
so that you keep moving, use as directed.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
That's right, Sure, I need to leave on the weekend.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Man, walking around Dodger Stadium and running myughs all around,
we can beat me up a little bit.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Man.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
All right, We're got to take some phone calls eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox, Robin not talking about the Chiefs twenty two.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
To nine win over the Giants.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
I saw some optimism because I believe dinking Dunk is
over a couple of weeks. You said you saw more
of the same, some regression from Mahomes and the Chiefs offense.
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. It takes some calls.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Who we got.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Dion in Texas? You're on the od couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
What's up, Dion?

Speaker 8 (17:27):
Hey, what's up? Happy money? Thanks for having me? And
eleven and six That's what I said. Eleven and six,
they'll go. Eleven and six. They're going to get their
playmakers back. Rob, you made Calvin's point. But when you
said in three years, Mahomes has not played that well,
he changed. And that's because Tyreek Hill has been playing
in Miami for the past three years. So I saw

(17:48):
a confident thrower when he had Thornton down there. I
hadn't seen an exposed to play like that in many years.
So I think eleven and six, you can expect that
they might go one in three.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
Did he miss any open throws?

Speaker 8 (18:01):
Of course, throws every quarterback, but but that.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
He just hasn't played And you can tell, if you
want to blame it on, they still win fifteen games,
they still go to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
You do all that. He I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
His statistics, Dion, I am.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
I am because I've never seen a quarterback go fifteen
and want to not get a Super not getting m
VP for I've never you know, not in a quarterback
lead ever ever ever.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
You see with Lamar and Josh Allen did no votes,
Joe Brow no votes. The dudes were sat Kwan Barkley
had called five amazing seasons.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
Last year from some guys. Trey in Texas. You're on
THEYD couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Tray, Tray,
go ahead, I hear you there. Okay, right, Drew in
New Jersey. You're on the eyd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, Drew?

Speaker 13 (18:56):
Hey, guys, I think that part of the reason why
one I don't think Mahomes is that great. I think
he's amazing. I think that what happened was he won
early and he had clutch moments. I think that the
comp has always been Brett Favre, and I think his
lack of being able to add lib pre snap is

(19:18):
why he's not able to adjust. Most of his success
was post snap with Tyreek Hill, which he was able
to do some much stuff, just like when you look
at Brett Fark when he won those three MDPs, he
had Stirling Shark. Brett Fark was also great post snap,
but he also had Andy Reid scheming it up. I
don't think he's as good as a as pre snap

(19:38):
as Aaron Rodgers. I don't think he's a good pre
snap like Free. Same thing with Peyton Manning. I think
that's why you've had some of those issues.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
That's not Listen, Drew, I don't you just named Peyton Manning.
I told you anybody who played Madden ten fifteen years
ago and had that quarterback vision thing. Peyton Manning's with
the whole entire screen like Peyton Manning pre Snap. He
started a whole movement of that, the goat of that.
So if somebody said you can't be that, I'm with
you on that. He can't be maybe Tom or Peyton
when it comes to.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
That, Rob g break the time you watch Mahomes, what'd
you think? I think he looks better this year than
he's looked last year. And you see what's coming down
the pipeline too, I mean, we'll see.

Speaker 9 (20:18):
The thing is that Patrick Mahomes he's kind of a
victim of his own success because he's never gonna be
the guy that he was when he first started.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
I don't even expect that now, I'm with you, I don't.
And that's why I think that there's a danger in
the Patrick Mahomes legacy going forward.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
I really do.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
Because when you start that well, and if you do
have a Tom Brady eight or nine years where you
don't win, and the numbers and the explosive plays and
all that aren't there, people gonna look a little different
and go was that really him or was it Tyreek
or was that Andy Reid early.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
On before he got too old?

Speaker 4 (20:52):
You know you know what I mean, like like, there's
a part of that that could.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Actually I'm not I don't even wholly disagree that.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
I think the key part is gonna be playoffs, because
too I believe it was Dean who called I believe
they're gonna make the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
You don't, and and I get it.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
And if but they get in there sneaking eleven and
six something like that, then it's going to become the
onus on the Justin Herbert, the Lamar and those guys
in there, and he beats them, then that's gonna be
erasing seasons that weren't the most explosive of statistically, you
get what I'm saying, Like if he yeah, can't.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Let me ask you to say they don't make the
playoffs they play this year, then would you what would
be they got the receivers back, they don't make the playoffs,
then how would you look at at where this is headed?

Speaker 2 (21:34):
A real point?

Speaker 1 (21:35):
I would fully start to look at, uh, the entirety
of their the way they go about their business, meeting
who's making these calls that they we've talked about, why
can't they ever go get the explosive got there? Why
can't they go get it like you got DeAndre? Hopkins said,
why can't you go get DeVante? Why couldn't you go
get some of these other guys? They're so overleveraged. With

(21:56):
Patrick's contract.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Scottracks is all right now it ain't.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
Yeah, but that's part of it they told him to
take when he took that terrible deal that that was
going to allow him to keep the team together.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
We're going to some dinners me, Andy and Travis can't
come back real quick.

Speaker 9 (22:13):
I may have to may a cope with this one
because I said, I think that he's playing better this
year he did last year. If you just look at
the numbers, career worst yards per game, career worst, passer rating, UH,
career worst completely percentage, he's twenty eighth right now, complete
percentag it's twenty third and passer rating. But to Kelvin's point,
he's been money when they absolutely had to, which is

(22:33):
why you can have a passer rating. It's twenty third
but be fifth in QBR.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
So what's saying.

Speaker 9 (22:38):
But what that's saying is he can be bad mediocre, bad, mediocre,
but on third down or in the red zone, on
a key play, he's making the play when they have
to have it to win these games.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
Yeah, but I think that that was especially last year,
like obviously they were ten and o or what eleven
and zer. I just this year we saw it already
where it's not been as easy as before and and
those things.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Catch up with you. So we'll see, guys.

Speaker 9 (23:04):
Patrick Mahomes has the worst completion percentage than Russell Wilson,
Bryce Young, Joe Flacker, j Smith.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
And that's crazy about that. That's completion that.

Speaker 9 (23:13):
That's not down the half a percentage higher than JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Seriously, Okay, all right, there was a lie. Hey, everything
I have said right there, listen to what you just said,
and and you and you said this.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
JJ McCarthy other than one quarter was awful, Okay, was awful.
And he's just barely, just barely behind Patrick Mahomes. That's incredible.
This is what I'm trying to tell you. I don't
see what you're seeing.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
That's okay. I talked to you about when Rashid Rice
gets bagging, I'll talk to you.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
We'll talk about what it could have should have all
that promising you know what it could have should about

(24:59):
fun Monday night, a ball game on should be. Should
be a good one to teams that are both explosive
and Rob I was thinking about this kind of going
into this one specifically for the Lions and this looking
at them because one of the things we talked about
the scheduling man looking at the scheduling for the Lions.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
This is a must win for the Lions.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
You don't not saying you lose, You're never gonna do
anything else, but this is a game they have to win.
When you look at their the rest of their schedule
for the next five or six weeks, this is a
game they gotta win because if they can. You look
at the games you go this one, you can. Let's
say you assume you win this one, then you got
the Browns, which is winnable, gonna be tough. Obviously we
saw what they just did to the Packers and then

(25:39):
the Bengals, which again you know they've been they've been
able to win, but you feel like I can win those.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
Then you got the Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
Then you go on this tough run Chiefs, Bucks, Vikings,
which we'll see, and then the Commanders and then the Eagles.
So you got a tough, tough run and if you
can win this one against a very very good team,
the team that this is actually my Super Bowl prediction,
but the team that you you know that all of
us have last three years, No, none of us is
the Chiefs. Last year Lions Chiefs. I was on my

(26:05):
way to the Commander's till Jared Goff turning to Jared
what tennis? So this I'm looking at this game, man,
This is a huge win for the Lions. If you
can get this done, go to two and one and
again you got two games and winnable games with the
Browns and the Bengals, then you can go to four
and one. That way, you get yourself a buffer cushion.
Four likes of the Chiefs, four likes of the Bucks,
four likes of the the Eagles and the Commanders. So

(26:28):
I'm looking at this game like you have to view
this as a must win so that you can get
yourself some room any NFC, specifically in your division as well,
because this just stretch you. We've talked about it all,
you know, the last few weeks. The Lions schedule is very,
very difficult this year. I mean, shoot, looking at the
rest of you still got the Packers another time as well,

(26:49):
and then the Rams as well, just other teams that
you know to add on to the list. So I'm
looking at this game, rob if you're the Lions, you
gotta win. Jared Goff is eleven and one in primetime
games his last twelve. He's seven and two in Monday
night football games, which is huge as is by the way,
Lamar Jackson the guy he's going up against, So something's

(27:10):
gonna give. But I'm looking at this as that, am
I crazy?

Speaker 4 (27:12):
You're crazy? And must win on the road against Baltimore.
This is not a must win game. You you were
talking about next week against Cleveland. Yeah, that's a must
win because after you take the l against Baltimore, you
need you don't want to lose to Cleveland and then
be one and three. That's a must win, or the
Bengals without Burrow, Joe Burrow, Like that's a must win,

(27:35):
you know, Like those are the teams they got to
make sure that they try to win. Because if you
say this is a must win and they lose tonight
to Baltimore, now what what would be your point.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
That you would be You'd be putting yourself way behind
the ball the whole not losing.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
To Baltimore on the road, Like this is a game
when you look at the schedule. I'm sorry, I don't
care what team you probably said, this will be an
l right here, Like this is a tough I mean,
they're one and one, but they score forty points in
each of their game pretty easily, right, I'm just I
don't look at it that way. I don't see this
as they have to win the night in order to

(28:11):
survive or to be able to continue to do whatever
they're doing.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
I just think that that's a real tough call.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
Especially you didn't even mention what Lamar is against NFC teams.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Watch game ever right against NFC two. Think it's like
two forty four and two or something.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
It's a ridiculous I got to get that exact one
because that is one of the greatest stats of all time.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
I mean, it's it's just ridiculous. So I don't look
at tonight like that. I expect the Lions to lose.
I expect Baltimore to win. And then for me, it's
can the Lions pick themselves up right and then play
the other the other thing? Four and two is ridiculous,
That's what I have to look at.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
And then we know it's funny and the opposite of that,
Jared and then what ten and one? He's also ten
and one in home primetime games, I mean Baltimore. Yeah,
he's thirty to touchdowns in those games.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
It was also weird.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
He I'm just saying that this is not a must win.
They win, it would be an incredible win for the
Lion season, but I must win.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Jared Goff is seven and one against the AFC in
his last eight.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
So we got two guys twenty four and two.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Well, I'm saying, two guys who have been great versus
the opposite conference, two guys who have been great in
prime times at both seven and two on Monday night,
so we should be in for a good one. But
I know, listen, that's why I said, if they lose.
It's not as if they're out of this thing. But
that would just give them such a huge edge, a
huge runway to go against this one, and then you

(29:39):
g if you can win those next two, because like
I said, if you give miss him for a lot
and you go for but you gotta be good teams anyway, No,
like why can't you?

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Why can't be a good team?

Speaker 4 (29:47):
That's not what we're talking about. But to say that
they have to win it, they better win in Baltimore. Okay,
you're hoping that they win, but to say.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
You better go out there and show Baltimore is what
it is. We can get a big ross if they
get a.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Forty point Berger put on them, then when they lose
forty to forty, that's a good good win Detroit. No,
they lose forty two to nine. That's the score.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Lions absolutely not only scoring nine. The Ravens defense is
not Ray Lewis. Ain't walking through that door.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
You don't need to have. Their defense ain't walking through
that door. You got a quarter, it's not about.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
To be Jaredy. He might throw one. I ain't gonna
say he can go through nothing. The last time that
game that I seen throwing out he gotta win. In
one of those games against an AFC team on a
national game, he threw five interceptions in that game. I
think you forget that against the Texans, so he won.
Next he won same since I don't know what the
Texans is.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
My gosh.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
No, they're supposed to go to the super Bowl. That's
what everybody told us. You ain't gonna let them. No,
I'm not because it was after one season, you know
what I mean, And everybody crowned every and no, I'm not.
I don't have anything against them, rob g I don't
care if he's a black quarterback. Everybody crowds didn't bring
it up CJ. Stroud though, didn't they They annoyed them

(30:57):
that he's.

Speaker 9 (30:57):
A black quarterback. But it also doesn't hurt the fact that.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
Everybody been taking shot to CJ. Ever since that moment.
He wrapped up Kayler Williams and was like, yo, man,
hey man, you know you're gonna be all right. Hey,
don't let it, you know, just get better from him.
You missed it because you were off that day. The
other day that you left early. We found out Kerrie
Roads also does not like black quarterbacks.

Speaker 13 (31:16):
Right.

Speaker 9 (31:18):
Because he went to Louisville, but both of him and
robbed together. Oh my god. It was like a hate
crime in here.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
Who did he like? None of none of them.

Speaker 9 (31:26):
You don't like Jayalen Hurts, Patrick Holmes was bad, just
like Rob's.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
He gets Stroud was struggling.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
Hey, hey, y'all got about three to five more years
not liking black quarterbacks because the Dagon, the whole league's
about to be black quarterback.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Have you seen college football lately?

Speaker 4 (31:39):
That's got to be racist. College football's always have black quarterbacks.
They just don't get to the leg They couldn't get
in the league back in the day. They've Charlie Ward
won a Heidsman, they had to go to the NBA.
Ain't don a blit you want to heis and they said.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
Cool, you want to go play for the Nay then
black quarterbacks all over.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Yeah, But I'm saying now, Game one was sixteen starters
the most ever years or so, you're gonna lose your mind.
That will match up with your retirement though, No, no, no,
I'll just start five more years. I'll just start following
the CFL. That's all I have.

Speaker 9 (32:08):
You know, four in the top six passerways, the NFL
Black quarterbacks Lamar Jackson, Jordan Love, Caleb Williams, and my
guy Danny Dives.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Carry just fell down the stairs right now. Carry.

Speaker 9 (32:18):
You didn't even hear the Danny dive. Hey man, we'reclaiming
for a second.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
No wait mane what how is uh? Who do we just?

Speaker 4 (32:25):
You just tell me the three names? How did Love
get in there after that performance? Just so he's still
in there?

Speaker 8 (32:30):
Well?

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Yeause, the first two games like twelve passes and got
touchdowns on like eight of them. All right, we got
Sheekle City Player of the Day on the web on
the way, and also you just mentioned the Packers. You
got a conspiracy theory. We got to hear this. It's
the Odd Couple Robin Kelvin Fox Sports Radio.

a Magic City Monday. Hopefully you're having a great one
as well. By the way, Rob Parker, MLB Odd Couple
fs R K doub line for myself you can feel
free to hit us up there and again shout out
to everybody on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
It's now time for what you say. But speaking of MLB,
I was on MLB Network today.

Speaker 4 (33:20):
I'm usually on Thursday, so it was actually really good
today Monday morning, getting at.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
It senses or the point on topics, ripping the Tigers.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Don't be looking at people. You thought I had to defense.
You know, there's no defense, even people in no defense.
I mean, what else can you say? Dude, I'm sitting
there and I did.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
I told you I did Dodgers for the weekend, No
mar Garcia, Parky and Jerry hissings. And they looked at
me like what that? Hey, I don't have the answers everybody.
I don't know what's because it's so bad. It's going
to be a historic collapse, historic.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
Baseball so stupid. What if they mess around and get
in and win? Like? What was that?

Speaker 1 (33:55):
All right, it's time now for Shekel City. Well today,
how you do?

Speaker 2 (34:01):
All right?

Speaker 4 (34:02):
We got some great news, breaking news on Fox Sports Radio.
I was two and one on Friday.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
That brings my total to eighteen and eighteen.

Speaker 4 (34:11):
Boys back, I'm back, baby back at five hundred.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
There you go, and now I can make that next step.
So here we go, best bet.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
I got the Ravens minus four and a half at
home taking on the Detroit Lions.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
I expect them to win by ten points. Ten ten points.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
They went by a field goal if they win four
and a half, so that means they would cover them
with your guys, I will see that, okay.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
And I got a.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Sixty eight yarder because that's what everybody's been doing the
last few weeks.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
Atlanta Braids minus one and a half. They're taking on
the Nationals in in Atlanta and it's two to one
currently on my way there. And also I got the
Giants minus one and a half. It's a limited schedule,
only three major league games tonight and then the next week,
the next six days, it's it and the season's over

(34:59):
on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Can you believe it all? Done? So again tonight sheckl City.

Speaker 4 (35:04):
Take the San Francisco Giants minus one and a half,
take the Atlanta Braids minus one and a half, and
take the Baltimore Ravens minus four and a half. And remember,
I'm not telling you who to bet on. What I'm
telling you who I bet on?

Speaker 1 (35:16):
All right, there you have a shekel city and he's
back to five hundred.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
Good. There you go man. Time for your tyreck player.

Speaker 7 (35:22):
Today, Andre Schmidt for the win from fifty five yards out.
Two second steps, snap is back, kick is up and
the kick is right down.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
Cut it off.

Speaker 4 (35:35):
It's gone right. There's a flag Free base bro A
High Bays Ti, Green Bays May Tapley, the Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Brown what ain't throwing helmets for it? The Packers?

Speaker 3 (35:50):
We got that?

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Like, how the heck do they lose that? Hold?

Speaker 1 (35:52):
Let me hit this real quick. That was the Tireck
Player of the day right there. Brought to you by Tirereck.
For over forty years, tirek has been helping customers find
the right tires for Howden where they I ship fast
and free back by free Road has a protection with
convenient insallation options like mobile tire installation, tie rack dot
Com the way tireboding should be. Some bad losses this
weekend and some not even by who you lost to,

(36:13):
but how you lost.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
So it was a mixture of bad losses like this one.
To me.

Speaker 1 (36:17):
You know you can't lose. You can give me a
competitive game. The Browns defensively shouldn't have lost that. You
can't lose that game to the Browns, especially how well
you've been playing if you're the Packers, and so you
got to find a way. And Jordan Love, who has
been able to have some big numbers this year just
because he's been able to throw the deep ball, score bunch.
He Jordan loved to where people go, See, that's why
I'm apprehensive about it.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
I'm not in the conspiracy. I'm not Alex Okay to Vegan,
I'm not old.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
Let me get my little bit. I'm hat Tim Foyer,
go ahead, go, I'm listening. But that game the Browns Packers,
it just made you wonder a little bit. It just
did like what was the line or something, Robberie, what
was the line? I don't know what was it?

Speaker 4 (36:57):
But they were supposed to win the game. It was
eleven and a half. Eleven and a half, that's how
much people thought. You know, we talk about all the time,
Vegas ain't giving you eleven and a half points because
they think, oh yeah, let's let the Browns cover and
give away all our money. They fully expected to build
another tower attached to the new baseball stadium that they're

(37:19):
building for the age.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
So wait, okay, why that sing?

Speaker 4 (37:23):
Because this is one of those games to me, that
stops people from going and plunking down a ton of
money on these bad teams, thinking, oh, this is every so.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
Often, you know what I mean to watch to stop people?

Speaker 4 (37:38):
What stop somebody going down there with a barrel a
full of money and going to the Browns. Oh god,
the Packer's going to the super Bowl. Look how great
they've been. I'm gonna take all my money down. It's
games like this where you become afraid, you know what
I mean. Like some games look so obvious, They're not
always obvious, That's all I'm saying. And it's one of
these games like this that reminds you. That's why they

(38:01):
call it gambling, because it ain't that what appears ain't
always the case. Well, I mean, that was one of
those games. Even the money line, even if you bet
money line, you go, well, all right, they mind to
cover the eleven and a half to go win the game?

Speaker 2 (38:13):
Really?

Speaker 1 (38:13):
Yeah, that that you ain't lying about that. They absolutely
supposed to win that game. But I would blean more
into a couple of things. One, the Browns defensively have
actually been pretty been good, and we know what Miles
Garrett can do and create having and the rest of
that team defensively, that's kind.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
That's why they were owing to coming out because they were.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
So good defensive, you know, and they can get they
can get after it, and I think the were smelling themselves.
The defense was good. But people putting them in the
Super Bowl already, I get that.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
I'm saying, as good as the Browns defense, they were
still owing, to my point, which makes them beatable.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
They should have been beat They should have been not
even the question the.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
Packers beating the Browns was the most obvious thing on
the paper throughout the week, the schedule that should have happened,
but not only not covering losing and how they lost.
They like them, They don't love Jordan right now,
