Speaker 1 (00:44):
This is just saying, you know I do breaking news

that and just a little bit. Also Michael Fabiano gonna
join a Sports Illustrated senior fantasy analysts And by the way,
Rob G we talked about that a little earlier. I
had stopped doing fantasy for a couple of years. Start

(01:28):
I'm gonna find me up luck. I know, no, I'm
gonna jump back in. I'm gonna find me. I'm gonna
find me a squad somewhere, one of my mini jobs,
and somebody will let me in, and I'm gonna get

Speaker 3 (01:38):
They were gonna do ones gotta go. Looking forward to that.

one in particular that of course everybody's gonna be watching,
so a whole lot to get to on this Worship Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Let me welcome in my partner, he is Rob G.
What's up? Rob g shout out to Manzi. That's me. No,
that's Manzi. How did Monty hijacking? Because she does it
more often than you do.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
She does get excited. I can't even touch the doorhandle.
Ready over the door, like okay, all right, all right,
Manzi shout to Mancy. She would be here a short
year as well. We got Patty Patrick's uh producing for
you said you want to be on this side of
it all.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Patrick also produced the previous show. Secretly is that him
and Brandon had this conversation off the air. Yeah, I
heard that was so rivening. It dominated an entire segment
of the last show too.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
That and then and if you told me, if you
just would have called me, it absolutely fits Rich and
Vito and Rich.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
It was great.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
It absolutely fits. It fits them too. So Patrick's in
the building that.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
The dumbest conversation. So much content coming out of Patrick today,
just content.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
It was an out of him. Patrick did, by the
way he would want to call it. He big dogged
me what. I said, Hey, what's up?

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Patrick? He said, what's up? Carol?

Speaker 1 (02:59):
And I said, I said, hey, man I never asked
you for a favor outside of you asking your mom
to make cookies.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
That's neither your know their.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Statement all the time, and said, hey, man, I was
wondering if you said, no, Brandon's Brandon?

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Is that it? He can do it?

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Before I even asked, I'm like, so this is what
it is. He moves up a little slot up in here,
producing now and it.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Felt like reverse racism. It felt like I don't know
what it was.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
I thought I joked into the lore and it went
back to nineteen forty seven or something.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
That man looked me in my mind's like, NA, get
somebody else to do it. I gotta sit in here,
he said, put the camera on me. I ain't doing it.
Put the camera on me. Keep going. Now you're telling
me Lebron James Kelvin Washington.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Kelvin that man, Rob g told me to get somebody
else to do it. So I have something mom be
on Patrick's head today. Man, I feel about that. And
we got of course, Mont's gonna be on the updates
in a moment and then on the ones and twos.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
I hate it so much that I hated so much
I started, wait a minute, you sit next to all
the top and Fox Sports Radio sits its inception. No,
I haven't, but pretty damn long. I ain never had
a drop until Alex felt bad for me and created
one because he was doing for himself. Mary was here
for like a week and a half. She had a jingle,
she had an open she had a nickname. That's not

(04:19):
like a you problem. I was, yeah, I was upset. Okay, well,
do you mind if I get to Elijah. There's something
you want to tell me about Elijah. Elijah's in the building.
He is gonna be on Elijah. The guy right here
is about ten feet in front of me, right who.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Elijah's in the building literally today, and he's gonna take
care of all of digital get everything up on there
all right. For over forty years, tire Rack has been
helping customers find the right tires for how, what and
where they drive. Ship fast and free back by free
Road has a protection with convenient installation options like mobile
tire installation, tirereq dot com.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
The way tire biking should be. Let's get into it.
So we got some.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Kansas City Chief conversations to be had the gabbling drop.
The jury had spoken, the judge reported it, and now
made it known that Rashi Rice is gonna have a
six game suspension right off the bat.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
And if you would call Rob g I don't know.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
A halful of weeks ago, we were talking about where
is it gonna happen, middle of the middle of the season,
could be you know, first third, where it would it be?
How long would it be? Also, and Rob and I
had that conversation. Rob said kind of a combination. Off
he expects it to be pretty harsh, and he himself
would want it to be the whole season. To really
make a point, I said, six to eight was kind
of what I was thinking, leaning more towards the six

(05:28):
because historically this league lets a lot go and rashi riights.
We know the car accident walks away from the car wreck,
leaves just a bad situation. He and some friends leave,
and now here we are with the punishment. So I'm
gonna start with this. That is a massive blow for
a team that struggled offensively last year. And when you

(05:48):
deep dive into the numbers, they were horrible in one factor,
but they were great in the other. And I'll explain
what I mean. The Chiefs weren't great. And when you're
talking about the field, when you're talking about yards, poor
attempt when you're talking about big play and explosive plays.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
They weren't that, and historically, similar to.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
The Warriors, where you create kind of a narrative of
this is how you play in our brains, this is
what you're doing, right, Steph is shoot three clay, everybody
shooting threes.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
This is what they do.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
They're so explosive and when you find out, you're like, no,
they really get a lot of backdoor layups and they
play really good defense. That was the Chiefs in the
sense that you kind of just remember them when you
close your eyes, putting up thirty five to forty a game,
Patrick mahomes three four hundred yards a game, and they
really hadn't been that the last couple of seasons. So
from that end, getting Rashid Rice was huge. Right, we're
getting our main target back. We're supposed to get the

(06:37):
better and more refined version of Travis Kelsey, the more
locked in version, although he didn't mess around and got
engaged to the biggest most popular woman on Earth arguably,
so I don't know how that helped, but you're supposed
to get him back and read ready better than ever,
and then of course you still have Hollywood Brown coming
back from from injury, and so you're supposed to be saying,
this is who Thank god we got those pasts those
couple of years. Well, I can understand why somebody would

(06:58):
be now pessimistic about the season, But I look at it,
it's like this, the other side of that coin. They
weren't explosive rob Gi, but they had the highest, one
of the highest rates of conversion of first downs they have.
Patrick Mahomes had the highest rate of third down conversions
for a quarterback. So we know what they did with
their defense. I expect the defense to be right there again.

(07:19):
So I look at this team as built for this,
similarly to the Patriots, built for whatever version we need
to be, whatever iteration we need to be this year
to compete and to win.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
And so I think Patrick Mahomes is ready for this.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
I think a part of this was good that they've
gone through these last couple of seasons figuring out who
they were, having to persevere, having guys in and out
of the lineup, and Patrick Mahomes doing just enough to
get by and get wins. To the two and of
fifteen and two, you would think again, you would think
they were ten and seven, nine and eight if you
fail from ours the way people talk about them, Yes
they were boring, Yes they weren't the most explosive. However

(07:56):
they were fifteen to two, and there's a reason for that,
because they know how to win.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Put him in any situation.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
If I told you got forty seconds to go down
in the march touchdown, you'd believe him. If I told
you they only get three plays and they still got
a score touchdown, you believe they find a way. They've
been able to win this in spite of and so
I look at this season as another way that they're
going to be figuring it to sting out. Now, a
couple of things, why Hollywood Brown. I expect him to
be that deep threat that was needed now that he's
healthy and hopefully be able to go the duration of

(08:22):
the season. Right, we know Worthy, exave you Worthy. He
was really good as a rookie. I expected him be
even better second year. Right now, he's really acclimated. Now
he's really in the system, and now he really knows
what Patrick Mahomes wants and desires, and they can move forward.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
He can be even bigger and better. And then if
you can just ride.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
It out those first six weeks. I'll even go as
low as three and three. Four and two is a
little bit more Chiefs like of them. But I look
at this ass boom. Now we got our top guy
back and now we're off sailing. So I don't expect
this to be a major major blow for them. I
think they've been built for this. And last point, Rob
G Patrick Mahomes. We talked him a little bit about

(09:03):
this with Rock Purty. He said, man, I was putting
a little bit too much pressure on me. I was
trying to do a little too much. And you can
even see it some of his own coaches, some outside execs,
suit and guys scouts who said you can see where
he was trying to overcompensate too much. He was actually
making ghost defensive plays where he was doing better than
what the defense was actually giving him. And I think
he was gonna bounce back. And he also mentioned the

(09:23):
team being tight because the hanging over them was the
three P GEMT me three P camp we three P
cany three P. He got three P and guys were
a little whild tightly. I think none that that's over. Now,
let's just get back. We lost bad. We got smacked
up in the super Bowl. Let's get back to the
super Bowl. Let's win a super Bowl and get back
to doing what we do. So disappointing. Yes, you lose
your best receiver who you're excited to have, but now

(09:44):
you don't. But I don't expect a major step back.
In fact, I expect their offense to be better than
it was last year until he gets back.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
I could not disagree with you more. Let's start it
off then, yes.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Because the Kansas City Chiefs. And this might sound like
a hot take, even though I don't think it is okay.
With this Rashi Rice suspension now set for the beginning
of the sea instead of the middle of the season,
I believe this cost them the AFC West for the
first time.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
It's twenty sixteen.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
They've won nine straight division titles, and they have been
the class of the division, class of the conference really
for basically like a decade. The Rashi Rice injury is
important because of where it's taking place. Obviously, it's their
best receiver as deals without question. Obviously they've shown they
can win without him. They did that last season. They
then went fourteen to two without him, right or thirteen
to two, So it's not to say that they cannot

(10:31):
navigate a scenario where Rashi Rice is not there. But
to your point, Travis Kelcey took a big step back
each of the last two seasons to a point where
he was considering retirement. Me and we talked about this before.
If you are openly considering retirement, you are already retired.
So I don't care that Travis Kelcey dropped twenty pounds

(10:52):
or whatever's in the offseason. I don't care that he
did a GQU interview where he's saying, yeah, I was
a little bit distracted and that's why I didn't play
so well. But now I'm locked in, and that doesn't
matter to me, all right, because mentally I feel like
he's not as committed as he probably would have been three,
four or five years ago. Right, And even if he is,
it's more big picture in mind. It's Hey, once we

(11:15):
get to the playoffs, I'm gonna turn it on like
I always do. Everything's gonna be fine. Don't worry about it.
You mentioned Hollywood Brown. Hollywood Brown has missed twenty two
games over the last three years, so I don't know
if I can count on him, especially after last seat.
Him is basically the whole year to be a guy
that you can He's even nicked up in training camp, right,
So it basically comes down to for Patrick Mahomes and
that offense, a semi retired Travis Kelce and an up

(11:40):
and coming Xavier Worthy. Now Xavier Worthy, I believe in
his long term potential, believe in his talent. The problem
is he's still very young number one, and number two,
he's a small guy, so I don't think you can
count on him to be your go to offensive weapon
during this Rashi Rice suspension. And last, but not least,
and this is more important, if you look at their
schedule in the first six weeks of this upcoming season,

(12:03):
they're gonna be facing two teams that I believe are
at a minimum on par with them entering this year,
and two teams that I believe one thousand are better
than them this year. So they're gonna open things up
in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Here, they got the.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Chargers in Brazil. I think they're probably gonna win that
game because they're gonna be paired for a couple of weeks.
The Chargers historically play them tough, they won't actually beat them.
Right then, you got the Eagles Week two. I think
the Eagles, I'm not saying they're gonna win thirty four
to six, but it you know, they should roll in
that one, even if it's in Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
The Joe.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
Just saying, Okay, the Giants, I'm on record picking them
to win the NFC East. I don't think they're gonna
win that particular game in Week three, but they'll give
them more than they can handle because their front four
is very good and the Chiefs offensive line is still
gonna be working its way in the form. After that,
you got the Ravens and then you got the Jags.
So it is on the table for them to start

(12:55):
the season two and four, three and three. Again, I'm
not saying they're gonna miss the playoffs, because I don't
think they're not gonna slip off. But last season they
want eleven games by one score less or by one score, right,
if less than the one score. The law of averages says,

(13:17):
at some point you're gonna number one lose one, but
you're gonna lose several because it's gonna balance out over time.
Even the best teams probably win sixty percent of the time,
maybe sixty five percent of the time. So if instead
of winning eleven games by one score, maybe you win seven,
you go seven and four, right, And that's the difference
between you going fifteen and two or eleven and six,

(13:39):
ten and seven. And that's why I believe this season,
as much as they hate to say it, the Denver
Broncos are gonna win that division.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
So let me tell you how you're wrong.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Okay, Number one, you have you had the Broncos I
think are gonna be a perfectly fine team. But then
you're everything you're saying. You're not allowing for what the
Broncos meeting. There's no setback. Maybe that will maybe that
was them playing better and over their hands, they could
take a step back, right, because you're going with a
team we haven't seen prove anything versus the team we
literally have. You just told me nine straight AFC West

(14:10):
Division titles. So you're going against what we know in
talking about a hypothetical, right, and the Broncos, we guess
bow Knicks, who I like, But you're putting up against
Patrick Mahomes who finds a way every single time to
get it done. So I'm not going against that. Then
you want to talk about loss averages. Well, dang it,
Rob Gee. Some people say, screw you, law of averages.

(14:31):
Tom Brady wants Spot to be playing, to leave with
sixty two winning super Bowl titles, and that division dominating
and winning year after year. Right at some point, Calvin
Washington and Robb g fifteen twenty years ago would have
been sitting there and you would have said, no way,
the Patriots are doing this. No way Tim Duncan is
gonna be playing twenty year later still come competing winning championships.
My point is, sometimes when you're in such a great situation,

(14:54):
when there's a great pairing from owner to GM to
coach to quarterback, and you have an ethos in a
way about you, laws of averages don't necessarily fit. When
I got Michael Jordan, I can win three, go play baseball,
come back, win three. It don't make sense. But sometimes
you have that type of guy and that type of team.
And but Patrick Mahomes, there's no way I'm going against that,

(15:15):
because later on we're gonna talk about a guy and
Josh Allen, who's got some things going on. We'll get
to there's a number in there as well that the
brother has been doing everything right. Yes, just can't beat him,
and laws of averages will say, if I was doing
this and you and I will get there with the numbers,
that means I'm beating this person.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
And now, Bro, that's not the case. So I hear
what you're saying.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
But I can't necessarily just ride with the Broncos, who
are more of an up and coming and I have
to still see, let me get a couple of seasons
out of it. ROGI firsts I'm gonna go against the
guy who'll do it for nearly a decade, and he'll
coach who has been nothing but successful his whole career.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
And I'm like, Nah, this ain't the year they do it.
You know why they're not doing it? Why because Rashi
Rice missing sixty.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
You're talking like I'm saying they're gonna miss the playoffs
and they're gonna suck. No, they're gonna be very good.
They're gonna win ten or eleven games. The problem is
the team that's in their division is gonna win twelve
or thirteen.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Settle down, praise is not walking through that door. For
Sean Payton, bo Nicks boo. Their defense is great. I
do agree with that, and I liked them, and I
actually like the Broncos, but settle down with the thirteen
John l Way ain't walking through that real quick.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Are the Chiefs beating your Detroit Lions without Rarehi Race? No?
Absolutely not. Yeah, of course there'll be five and one.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
They're gonna lose that one games could beat them in
the Super Bowl. What's supposed to be the dag on
forty nine? As the whole world wanted that right deep down.
Rob Parker even wanted that, but d deep down, deep
deep deep down, he wanted that.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
All right, more on.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
That Rashi Rice again and what that could mean for
the Chiefs. I totally disagree with. You don't forget off.
So we got Jesse k newall coming up as well.
If you want to get in call maybe sweezing the
car if you'd like to eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. If you want to be more on Rob
g side of this with the Broncos, who again, I
think you're gonna BEI up there, not gonna be thirteen
and four and they're not gonna be beating the Chiefs
in that division. I don't see it. Maybe with me

(17:00):
with Rob G eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

I'm not dealing with you, miss Mary mac on this
Worship Wednesday, c theyd Couple, COVID Washington, Rob g and
for Rob on a Worship Wednesday. The reason I asked
Mary this is Kurt Franklin from about twenty five thirty
twenty five, three years ago, because I got a few
tweets now people said, hey, that usually it's Alex And
they said when Alex plays thos worship bangers, like, who
are they? So I said, all right, you know, I'm
making it a point to throw some of those out.

(18:37):
So this is obviously the old school one from kurk Franklin.
There you go check it out. All right, all this
Worship Wednesday, we're excited to announce a brand new YouTube

FSR on YouTube and make sure you subscribe. Brod, do
you threw something out? We talking a little bit just
you and I off the air. Throw that out again?

Speaker 4 (19:08):
Yeah, I must say that regard to this rashiv RII
suspension again, six games for the Chiefs number one wide
receiver is given the fact that the NFLPA is in
such a disarray right now, they have no leadership, They're
mired and scandal. The fact that they were able to
get what was supposed to be a ten plus game
suspension reportedly from the NFL down to six is kind

(19:29):
of a minor miracle to me.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Yeah, you got the whole Lloyd Howell scandal hanging out
on Magic City mondays, Oh all the drama. They're holding
the collusion stuff secret for six months, which you're hello,
you're our leader, Come tell us we might be able
to get paid. We might be able to get some
more money. I said all that to say one thing
the NFL. You are right, I was talking about this
when we were pre you know, going over the show

(19:52):
in the beginning earlier today that I think the NFL
they don't suspend people quite like you think they would,
no certain certain or at all in some case or
not long, you know. And if I told you if
you fail from ours and I said, hey, someone did this,
you oh, clearly that's the season. Maybe never again they
get to you throw you're beating up girlfriend, throwing it
on pole of guns.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
That's it right right, No, not the case.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
We've had so many things in the NFL where guys
come back from suspensions earlier and your thought were not
suspended as long as you thought, so, number one.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
That was my first point.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Second point was I also don't think you want to,
you know, handicap the Chiefs keep the Chiefs you know,
short a man long, because contrary to what people think,
I know, we're watching America's team with Jimmy with of
course Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson and well America's team
right now at least if you love or hate them.

(20:42):
And this is just by the numbers. As the Kansas
City Chiefs the last few seas by a lot, by
a lot, they get the most viewership of any team,
and I think, again, love them, hate them, whatever it is.
I think the league is fully aware of that, Robbie,
and we want them to be the better version of themselves.

Speaker 4 (20:56):
So are you saying there's something the fairy is going
on between Roger Goodell and the NFL.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
I don't know, not like I went to high school
with him, nefarious Farius Jenkins. I know him, Yeah, his
sister was cute.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
No.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
My point is that I think the league is all right,
six games, blah blah, get back in there here, you guys,
get your number one guy back, go play, because people
want to watch you, and they don't want to watch
you guys, you know, down a man for too long.
I'm just saying, nefarious cafarious could so do you.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Think, and again we're against it.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Do you think it still would have only been six
games if he had not settled, if he had actually
gone through the process and had the judge come down,
would it have been closer to that ten games?

Speaker 3 (21:32):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (21:32):
Because I think they often don't mind it, you know,
don't mess with us. We let us offer leniency when
we choose to. Don't mess with us, gotcha? And so
I think they'd have no problem doing that. But again
that was, by the way, that was a serious crime series.
Get into them because one thing, accidents happened, But driving crazy,
getting accident, fleeing not seeing who's there, who could have
been hurt, would have been dead. That's a terrible thing

(21:54):
for sure. So all right, they're having six games for
hit rights. We'll see what it does for the chiefs.
The way we got Jesse Nowell, Kansas City chiefess, beat
reporter for the Athletic, will help us break this down
a little bit further. Right now, she is manzil is
Manzi do well, I don't wait, Manzi in through the nose,
out through the mouth.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
One more, in through the nose, out through the mouth.
There we go. I want to talk to Monty, can.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
You hear me?

Speaker 7 (22:19):
There we go, There we go. Hi, guys, it's been
a day.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
It has been a day.

Speaker 7 (22:25):
It's been a day. A lot of people with Dodger
Stadium today. Yeah, trying to get that babble ahead.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Listen, did he hit hasnt started? Forty? Okay?

Speaker 8 (22:37):
Everyone gets a bible ahead and people still come like
they're not going to get one if they don't get
there early.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
He hits home runs on bibblehead nineteen.

Speaker 7 (22:43):
He does, no, he does more than that.

Speaker 8 (22:44):
He yes, he's probably gonna he's also starting on the mouth,
so he's probably gonna have seventeen strikeouts and you know,
team and uh because you know seventeen that numbers, I'm a.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Minus the ten piece about seven seven.

Speaker 7 (22:58):
You know, So he has. It's been a day, but
happy to be here with you.

Speaker 8 (23:02):
That game is gonna start soon in a little over
an hour from Dodgers Stadium. But right now, the Red
Sox and the Orioles are tied at one apiece top
of the fourth in Baltimore, Twins edging the Blue Jays
one zero top of the second inning.

Speaker 7 (23:13):
The games have wrapped up. Speaking about people who just.

Speaker 8 (23:15):
Hit a lot of home runs, Aaron Judge hit his
forty first home run of the season today. The Yankee
said six home runs total and an eleven to two
victory over Washington. The Atlanta Braves hit five home runs,
including two by Jerks and Profar. They won at Miami
twelve to one, and the Cleveland Guardians. If he did
the Tampa bay Rays four to three. Mariners just etched
the Padres forty three. Oh Heeno swatters with the three

(23:37):
run shot. You guys are just talking about the NFL.
That's Ryk, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver. In case you, mister,
Rashi Rice has been suspended six games for violating the
league's personal conduct policy. The Ravens signed safety Kyle Hamilton
to a four year, hundred million dollar extension with eighty
two million guaranteed. They're also signing I mean former Browns,
but also former Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley back to their

(23:58):
practice squad. The Browns are signing quarterback be Lee Zappy
to their practice squad.

Speaker 7 (24:02):
A lot of quarterbacks going places.

Speaker 8 (24:04):
The Bengals are signing quarterback Brett Ripping to their practice squad.
Back to you guys, all right, she is MONTI bring
a babblehead.

Speaker 7 (24:14):
No, I have mine if you want to see it.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
Whatever, You're lucky.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
We gotta get to Jesse right now because I got
something to say to you. You done took my bread,
but so far off g I thought it was yours.
He thought it was yours.

Speaker 7 (24:23):
Oh that's so funny. Let's tell people that you said.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
Manzi's coming up a little bit, he said, shout out
to Manti. I said, whoaa, no, let's keep telling you.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
All right, a.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Couple aching, he stiffed back Joyce not cooperating. Some days
your body or at least mine, it's just like nope
and all those days. Luckily there's a lead with just
one pill of lead provides up to twelve hours of
paying relief, so we can keep on moving.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
Use as directed.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
I don't know if Jesse Neuwle needs on the leave
or not, but I know he's with us now. Kansas
City Chiefs be reported for the athletic Jesse k Neewle
on ex Jesse, what's going on?

Speaker 9 (24:57):
Hey, not too much? Guys appreciate it having me, all.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Right, So get to it for six games for she writes,
But then I want you to break it down just
kind of how the team may feel about that. And
then the other side, Rob g says, the Broncos are
going to take that division because of this. I say,
what in the world, settle down? I like Boo bowl
Ricks aka bow Nicks, but they ain't taking over the
top spot in the over the Chiefs, all right? So
two point one what the team feels about the the suspension?

(25:20):
And two who side are you on?

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (25:23):
So the suspension.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
We'll start with that.

Speaker 9 (25:25):
I mean, the Chiefs anticipate this was coming. Obviously they're
going to have to work through it, and last year
they did work through it because ra she Rice had
a season ending knee injury in Week four, and they
figure out a way to make it work with Xavier Worthy.
Their speeds are doing a lot of short routes, so
I anticipate them doing that and kind of moving him
back into that sort of role for the first six
games of the season. Their schedules kind of front loaded,

(25:45):
so it is a difficult time for them to have
to maneuver that. But like I said, they've done it before,
and Patrick Mahomes Andy Reid seem to work pretty well
with what they have. As far as the Broncos go,
you know, it's difficult because when you're the Chiefs and
you've won the division, whatever it is, nine ten or
the row, it's difficult to say, hey, it's gonna happen
this year until you've seen it. But if anybody's gonna
do it, be the Broncos because they played the Chiefs

(26:07):
really tough last year, probably should have beat him twice.
And then obviously that defense is really really good and
Sean Payton seems to at least think he has the
formula to beat the Chiefs and has been pretty successful
so far, so it should be really competitive in the AFC.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
West Lloyd, look at you, you and Rob Gi drinking.
Jesse knows ball that whatever? You know what a orange crush?
I don't know what they caught that orange and both
of y'all giving him credit for almost man the almost
beat him twice?

Speaker 3 (26:31):
What everybody else almost beat him? Jesse?

Speaker 4 (26:33):
They just didn't go ahead right right now, Jesse, real quick.
You mentioned of course the team was expecting. We're all
expecting the suspension at some point, but I think the
common refrain was it's gonna happen at some point in
the middle of the season, be like October or so on,
and then he'll miss the middle of the year then
come back to the postseason run. Do you think him
getting it settled early and being the first six games

(26:54):
I know it's front loaded. Was that better or worse
for the Chiefs long term?

Speaker 9 (26:58):
I think it's better for and the team just know
what it is and to get it out of the
way and get it all behind them. And I think
both parties, honestly the NFL and the Chiefs had some
motivation to do that. I'm sure the NFL did not
want their big kickoff party the second game of the
season in Brazil, you know, available worldwide on YouTube, to
have the subplot that hey, this you know where she
writes is still playing and hasn't been punished shed because

(27:20):
he saw the hearing coming up in a few weeks.
So I think both sides probably wanted this to get done. Obviously,
the NFL probably wanted a longer suspension, and that's why
they were going to come to a hearing later in
September before they came to this agreement. But I think
both sides sitting down, if you gave him, you know,
trus serum and a moment of honesty, they'd say, Hey,
let's move on from this thing. Let's get down in
front of this thing. Let's make sure that this thing

(27:42):
is addressed at the beginning of the season, and that
way the Chiefs can know what they're doing moving forward.
And obviously the NFL doesn't have to worry about the
pr nightmare that would be one of their opening games
happening in a March twenty twenty four incident, you know
where she writes, still not paying a suspension for.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
He is Jesse Nowell. He is a Kansas City Chiefs,
be a reporter for the Athletic. I gotta go full
TMZ on you. All right, we got Travis, we got Taylor.
We have an engagement that took shook the world and
so much so I do. I host the anchor the
morning news out here in LA and we had our
reporter crying.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
It was it was just it's been a whole thing,
as you know, so twofold one.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
I'm sure the guys are having fun, and you know
they knew this was coming one day obviously, so no
big deal there. But on the other side, Travis Kelsey
said he admitted the GQ article, I wasn't focused. I
had this going on, A million things going on, and
I need to lock in. I need to be better
this year. I'm gonna, I promise, I'm gonna be that.
Do you buy into that? Does he maybe even let's
even take Taylor's side, can his body hold up enough
to do that? He is, you know, many years plus

(28:40):
extra miles because of the playoff runs and also is
the wedding the biggest one in the world looming over
is that a distraction at all.

Speaker 9 (28:49):
I can't give any details on the wedding yet, we
don't even know what it's gonna be. So I don't
think that's looming on him yet. I wouldn't assume so.
But in terms of him being in better shape, he
is a notice the little shape he was during training camp.
We could see that he'd slim down, that he'd taken
some of those ousting workouts seriously. And yeah, we've heard
the same quotes that you were reading there, which basically
got to the point of like, hey, he knew he
needed this could potentially be his last go run or

(29:11):
go round for the Chiefs, and so he wanted to
get himself get himself in the best position to, you know,
potentially chase another Super Bowl with the Chiefs and potentially
make a four straight one with the team. But you know,
we also have to judge this on the curve that
it deserves to judge on, which is, guys, you look
at age thirty five seasons for tight end. Nobody does
what Travis Kelsey was last year. You know what I mean,
We're going for Whatever had to catch him out was

(29:33):
the eighty plus catches nine hundred yards basically you can
hit the name on one hand. Antonio Gates and Tony
Gonzalez remained disproductive this late into the careers. One of
the crazy stats I look up. I feel like I
look up almost every single week, But Travis Kelce and
Rob Gronkowski, they're like the same age guys. It's like
four months apart. I mean, Greg Keowski has retired, Rick retired,

(29:55):
came back and won a Super Bowl and now it's
then retired for like three years again, and like he's
the same a just Travis Kelsey and so yeah, the
Chiefs would love to sort of have not have Travis
Kelsey have to be the guy for them, and ma
she Rice's suspension won't help with that, but ideally they
would move on and to have him be a role player,
him be a third that weapon. HIFs continue to have

(30:16):
that chemistry with Patrick Mahomes this year, but not have
to be the focal point that he's been for so
many years, just because it's really tough to play tight
end in this league in your age thirty six season.
We know Travis gons turn thirty six coming up here
in a couple months in October, so it's his body
in better shape. Yeah, yes, absolutely. But you know I
asked him in training camp, I said, how do you
feel out there? And he goes, well, you get used
to the hits, you get used to the grind, that

(30:37):
sort of thing. So that's going to take a toll
on a thirty five year old, a thirty six year
old out there. So we'll see how well he holds up.
But I do know this, he is motivated to give
another run, and he's called football his sanctuary. This is
the place he wants to be.

Speaker 4 (30:48):
Now, Jesse, with all that in mind, now, Patrick Mahomes,
I know he was at a god tier, you know,
first part of his career, but his last two seasons
have been down way down statistically, including last year thirty
third in air yards per attempt. The Chiefs has an
offense dead last and explosive play rate. How much of
that is the weapons just not being up to snuff
in Kansas City, and how much of that is teams

(31:10):
have decided, Hey, we're gonna make you nickel and dimas
because we've seen how explosive your arm is bedroom homes
and the only way we can kind of keep it
close is if we drag you into the mud and
make you five yards six yard out round whatever it is,
or is it both?

Speaker 9 (31:27):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely both. You're you're right on with both
of those. And I was looking at this up yesterday.
Something you don't expect when you think about the Chiefs,
Hi flying Chiefs. The offense kind of go back to
Tyreek Hill and they're throwing bombs all over the place
all that stuff. Chiefs last year were fifteenth in points
per game. The year before they were fifteenth in points.
For you view, Wow, this is not the type of
offense you expect from the Kancity Chiefs. Now, some of

(31:47):
that is paced. They play super slow, and they kind
of cater to their defense that way, help their defense
out by shortening games in that way. But you're right.
I mean teams have gone to these two high shelves
a lot. They basically went to them, to the Chiefs
before they went to some other explosive quarterbacks, and said, hey,
we want you to beat us in this particular way.
And the air yards is something I've written about. That's
a great statut you pulled up because early in his career,

(32:08):
Patrick Mahomes was second in the NFL. I think is
his first year as a starter in the are yards.
He was chucking it down the field Tyreek Hills down
there somewhere, that sort of thing. And he really has
Tom Brady eyed himself here the past few years and
is either second to last or third to last the
last few years when it comes to air yards. And
so they really have gone to the short passing game.
I think some of that is taking advantage of what

(32:28):
you can do and the scheme that Andy Reid provides.
And you know, we talk about the Chiefs and their
shortcomings and what they don't do well, but at the
same time, they were fifteen and one last year before
that week's seventeen game where they rested all their starters
and got beat by the Broncos, it was still a
really successful season for them. We know they caught a
lot of breaks along the way and had some things
go their way, but you know, fifteen wins is fifteen wins.

(32:49):
I'm taken back to one particular play in the Super Bowl, guys,
he goes back to it. The Chiefs were down seven
to nothing still in that game against the Eagles, and
they got exager Worthy, their fastest player on the outside,
and got him one on one with Zach Bond, the
Eagles linebacker. It is a dream matchup. He's running down
the sideline. It could be a sixty yard touchdown for
the Chiefs. Get right back in the game. And the
Chiefs got bowled over on the offensive line. And so

(33:09):
to me, to get the air yardage up again, they
need that protection on the left side of the line
from rookie Josh Simmons left guard Kingsley sulamat toe. If
that happens, potentially you can look down the field, if
you go look at the air yards from this last game,
this preseason game against the Bears, I believe I saw
Mahomes's average depth of target was either twelve or thirteen yards.
It was the highest he'd ever had had a preseason game.

(33:30):
So potentially, if that line holds up on the left side,
the Chiefs will chuck it down field more often.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Yeah, if that line holds up, I mean, that's a
whole different thing, and it changes the game and what
they're able to do. And I just think I was
saying earlier to Rob g Jesse that I think that's
the beauty of what Patrick Mahomes and the greats Tom Brady,
even Peyton Manning had to kind of scale back what
he was able to do towards the end. They're able
to find whatever I need to win and that's what
made them great. It could be death by a thousand

(33:55):
paper cuts, meeting just two yards, slant rounds all day,
whatever it is, some bubbles, screens, We're just gonna find
a way to win this game.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Hey, Jesse, thank you so much. We appreciate your time.

Speaker 9 (34:04):
Hey, appreciated. Guys.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
Thanks all right.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
On the way, we have your tie reck play of other

Speaker 2 (35:06):
But Captain Kevin back strong a two run shot ats
three nothing.

Speaker 3 (35:11):
Yankees is forty first.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
So you're telling me Aaron Judge is really good at baseball.
There Aaron Judge. That is a Yankee network Radio network.
There Aaron Judge is on up another amazing season run.
He's been struggling lately for sure. For me, Yeah, Rob,
trust me. Rob saw that we went out a doubt.

Speaker 6 (35:28):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
He is struggling and it hasn't been the best, you know,
last little bit of time. But you know he's been
on a run in the last six years or so.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
All right.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
Tire Reck of course brought you the player of the

Rob G, Bill Belichick, Jordan Hudson girlfriend.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
Uh, they have now filed breaking bustle.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
Well that kind of sounded funny actually, Then the irony
of that if you heard what they said, Uh TCE
Wrights Management LLC. That's the company owned by he and
managed by who his girlfriend. Uh, they filed for trademark
to be used on jewelry in key chains. And you
know what it was the irony of it all? It

(36:23):
was gold Digger.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
I love it. First of all, sir, ma'am.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
If anybody's gonna own that, Daggon is Kanye West and
man or and or Jamie Fox or God bless the dead,
Ray Charles. Okay, that's what we're starting there, because when
I think of gold Digger, I think of Kanye yeasy.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
Yeah. I don't know what he is right now, which
one is he?

Speaker 6 (36:46):
Is?

Speaker 2 (36:46):
He?

Speaker 3 (36:47):
But Daggon that's what I think of. It's yeah, gee,
tame my mind.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
It's Ray, It's Ray Charles or Jamie Fox and Kanye.
So let's just start there. When I immediately see that,
and I didn't say ya. First, I didn't see yay.
That disappointed me, rob G. Secondly, they don't dropped the
ball there. Yeah, somebody, Hey, I don't know what happened.
He probably, I mean, I'm sure I would have assumed
he would have done that, but maybe he didn't. Also,
just the irony in this, and she has done this

(37:13):
a few times, the little nanna nanniboubu kind of thing.
Are you're gonna say this? Well, I'm gonna file for trademark.
Are you guys gonna say that? On this past Saturday,
she's on the sideline and she takes them, posted a
picture on Instagram on the sideline, pointing at them and like,
you guys say, I shouldn't be here.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
Hi take that. I'm here.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
So she has been flexing her muscles. But what makes
her so crazy? And we've talked about it before, Rob Gene,
you know what we're looking at right now on our
TV in front of you know what that is at
the top.

Speaker 3 (37:40):
What's that?

Speaker 1 (37:41):
That's thirty for thirty on Bill and Bill, Bill Belichick
and Bill Parcells. And the irony of that is those
two guys are known for what, no nonsense, hardcore, no distractions.

Speaker 3 (37:53):
I don't play that.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
Bleep, and at this point in his career he is
playing that bleep and let I mean, she's just run
and ship doing whatever, filing for gold digger stuff that
ain't got nothing to do with football.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
What were we doing here?

Speaker 1 (38:04):
So I just find it funny where we are at
this point in Bill Belichick's career. You know, Todd dive
deep into his personal life, but I just find it
funny that this is where we are, where Bill Belichick
is filing for gold Digger. Well, first off, some of
the other things he fouled for, He's got a handful
of them.

Speaker 4 (38:22):
The Belichick way, and no days off. Don't like that one,
he can't there. The Trail of Salty Tears, that's not bad.
Chapel Bill is good?

Speaker 3 (38:29):
Was that for some Karens?

Speaker 4 (38:30):
I like that one? And this is my favorite one,
the Bellustrator. So some half of those I think are
pretty good. The gold Digger one is awesome. And for
you to come down on Bill Belichick for living out
every seventy five year old man's fantasy is wild on
your part, because you and I know several people who
have totally flipped their entire ideal and personality and soul

(38:54):
because they started hooking up with a woman in their twenties.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
Yeah, when I was twenty.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
I genuine I say this, and I mean this from
the depths of my soul. If I were single again
and I'm forty fifty, we know, whatever the like fifties,
you would have the whole world to see if thirty forty.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Dagg it is?

Speaker 8 (39:16):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (39:16):
Then the Koran or the Bible, one of them? Half
your age plus seven? So what is Bill?

Speaker 1 (39:21):
There're seventy folling through the man thirty seven and forty
forty four perfect.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
My point is.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
That, okay, and see you about to get me in
the tor ray Robkin from our Kelly interview.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
I don't want to go there wrong.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
It's also win the Mets. Now you're giving ages. Now
you gotta go back to women. That's just listen. There
are people who have gotten in trouble. People are upset
with certain people because they feel like they could be
jeopardizing your whole business model and career. Right now, you're
popping you one of the biggest people out there in
sports media because of you know, you start with the
nineteen year old. I'm just saying, where are we going

(39:57):
with it from there? You know, does it matter? He's
a grown ass man. It's just a grown ass woman. No,
I'm telling you right now, if I'm a patriot from
the Patriot Way who probably got in trouble because my
girlfriend did this. My boy, my my homeboy, pulled up
on practice with his music blasted to like all the
things that we don't do that around here. We don't
do that, and that's a distraction. Oh I am trolling

(40:17):
my old coach. Now, I'll still love him. Pull up
for Christmas, give him, give him a Christmas car with
me and the family. But please believe I'm trolling my
old boss, my old coach, cause you know he was having.

Speaker 3 (40:27):
Some issues with guy.

Speaker 1 (40:28):
Just Hey, I heard you got in at three am.
You hanging out at the whatever club and doing this
and doing that. Oh whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. This is
what we're doing now, coach. That would be my text, Hey, coach, Hey,
how you doing. That's what we're doing. That's all it was.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
Ask what we are right now? That's what we are
right now.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
It's to a point, though, Rob J, you have a
twenty some year if you're seven to be for real,
I mean maybe you would.

Speaker 4 (40:46):
I mean I hope not, because I hope I still
be married at that point.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
But if I was clearly you're not married in this hypothetical. Oh,
I'm going full Las Vegas on you. You have no idea, No,
you're not. You like old people. You're gonna be with
an old woman.
