very nice.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
Where's my coffee? But of course I don't know what
did Mary do? That's that's how Wait.
Speaker 6 (05:02):
First of all, only I didn't say this Mary. I
didn't say this man I worked with married.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
In fact, no, it's Mary Matt. I saw her hand
him the coffee.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
That's insane. It is insane.
Speaker 6 (05:13):
I will remember that, Rob, we will Mary. He didn't
even want a coffee. And we do want to say
this too. He didn't give us none of that schwarma yesterday.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
With that he is.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
If you're not from Michigan, you're not gonna even cofee
out of me. Yeah, Michigan loyalty, whatever, whatever. You from Michigan.
You're from Michigan.
Speaker 6 (05:32):
You made more time in Michigan than any other place
in your life.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Yeah, so I spent twenty years.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
But you're a hater, So I would even give you
coffee energize the hate.
Speaker 6 (05:41):
Listen, he has a home at a barbersche He's still
he was there for twenty years. You are from Michigan
at this point, you really are all right, can we
got to own it?
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Can we say this, Let's wish Doug Gottlieb the best
of luck in his coaching career. And today they had
the final show on Fox Sports Radio. No I'm not
making it was very emotional. I heard it was Yeah,
it was Sam. I was Sam was it? It was
emotional and Doug was in studio here and they did
it live and I watched a little bit of it. It
(06:13):
was emotional. It was crazy because so many guys in
our business man. There was a couple other people I
saw sign off today, so it was real tough. But
all right, let's welcome in the odd couple crew because
you wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without him.
Speaker 6 (06:27):
Shaye is our producer and for Rob G. Rob G
is sick of Rob. You know what, this break is
probably good for you. You'll need a little break sometimes.
It's like that in a relationship, you know. Un Let's
just have a little weekend, take some time off, and
then we go to the Super Bowl. I don't want
any of his bread.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
I'm done. What about his cakes though? No cakes, bread, whatever?
Speaker 3 (06:51):
You got?
Speaker 4 (06:52):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Steve de Seger's at the anchor desk updated throughout the program.
Elijah is a is our whole social media group.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Never heard of them?
Speaker 6 (07:03):
And on the ones and twos, why your bugs saying huh,
thank you for the coffee?
Speaker 3 (07:10):
All right, can we get here? Can we get here?
Let's get gidyeh. We had one of the greatest football
games of the year. That was a good game, It
really was. It was a fun game. It's not often
you see a team down by sixteen points in the
fourth quarter and win. You know why, because it never happened.
It had never happened.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
You're talking about.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Unbelievable down sixteen points. The other team had no turnovers.
I'm talking about the rams. They had over five hundred
yards in offense, right over over five hundred. No team
had ever lost the game where they had no turnovers.
They had over five hundred yards. They were led by
sixteen in the fourth quarter, in the fourth quarter and
(07:51):
wind up losing. And I know all of the people
decided this is the day that they were going to
sing the praises of Sam donald But I'm not one
of them, Sam DONALDA. I know they won the game,
but I'm gonna tell you, I'm gonna give it to
(08:12):
you real Okay, Sam Donald got balled, bailed out, and
got a reprieve from the Rams. That's what that was. Yeah,
the writers and sports writers in the press box had
to change the stories that they had written after three
quarters about how he can't win a big game and
the Rams choke, and in the process they let Sam
(08:36):
Donald off the hook. And I'm talking about for right
now because this still follows him and the reason it
still follows him, And I heard Colin recite a stat
earlier and other people were.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
Talking about it as well.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
First quarterback to win twelve games with two different teams.
All right, that's not a badge of honor. It's an
indictment of Sam Donald because most guys who win twelve
games going to another team the next year, not just fact.
Would you agree with that most of the time? Okay,
you're not going nowhere else, So twelve wins is great.
Speaker 6 (09:08):
I'm shocked by that, though I thought Joe Montana, like
with Kansas City, it wasn't twelve.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
Yeah, okay, I was shocked to you that did that.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
But unless, of course, you're Sam Donald. And that's why
the Minnesota Vikings didn't buy into him before this game.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
I told you I didn't buy him. The Sam Donald
who went.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
The bed last year and the two biggest games of
the year won for the division right against the Lions,
and then of course in the playoff game against the Rams,
and he did exactly the same thing. Did you watch
the first three quarters? He was atrocious, he was awful,
and all of a sudden down by sixteen. It was
(09:53):
the punk return that changed that game. You know that
when you could score on the special teams and not
have a law drive and eat up Clark and that
turned the game around.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
It wasn't Sam Donald.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
And then the big controversial which really wasn't controversial when
you watch the replay of it, the two point conversion.
That was one of the luckiest plays in the history
of sports that you'll ever see because it bailed Sam
Donald out and he's lucky.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
I don't know who was the dB for the Rams.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
What the ball went right through like hit him in
the chest and went through and bounced and of course
they were lucky that the ball was picked up.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
What's a guy's named Charbonneau, right who.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Picked up the ball, who just arbitrent like really just
picked it up to pick it up. And he's in
the end zone so they get the two point conversion.
The original pass was awful. That should have been the game,
and he could have lost right there, and people would
be talking about Sam Donald right now. Sam Donald is
(10:54):
not off the hook with yours truly, and there'll be
another game. And last early on, those three quarters proved
to me why the Vikings parted with him and why
people were talking about Sam Donald up until that game
turned around. And they gotta win, and I get it.
Winning is the greatest makeup ever. It covers up everything,
(11:15):
and I get it. He threw a couple touchdowns, he
was able to get those two point conversions, even though
one was super lucky, and they won the game. And
nobody in Seattle's gonna be mad today and people are
gonna look the other way. But Sam Donald did not
change my mind about him.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
In Big Game, Elijah put the camera on me. I'm
so mad at you right now.
Speaker 10 (11:38):
Rob.
Speaker 6 (11:39):
You know why I'm mad at you. I'm mad at
you because Shay. The best part about this is, say
you were here yesterday, Elijah. You were here yesterday, so
you heard my partner in crime, Rob Parker, sit two
feet away from me and tell me, you know what
if he plays well and if he wins this big game,
and if he can get a big game on a
primetime moment, I'll give him some credit. And you know
(12:00):
what he did. He beat the MVP in a game
where he was tacking on the first half. And you
know what you said to me a week ago. I
came in here and I was like, Josh Allen, I
don't know. He's obviously great, but that first half he
was down twenty one nothing Patriots.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
And you said, and that's what made it great.
Speaker 6 (12:16):
He came back for twenty one down and had a
great second half. Sam Darnold had a great second, third quarter, second,
he did not win half of the third quarter and
all over down in the fourth quarter sixty point you
I just throw it an interception to the fourth and
that's why it was great. But the difference he's down
and came back. You don't have a nother don't want
to hear Josh. I'll let you Josh Allen doesn't have
(12:37):
a narrative that he went big game. He does in
the postseason. He does now, I don't want to hear it.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
Rob. I'll let you go.
Speaker 6 (12:44):
Dagget, you said you're gonna come on here, if he
got a big win, if he made big plays, if
he beat the potential MVP of Matthew Stafford. And that's
what he did. He made great throws that fourth quarter.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
He won that game. He had to go out there
and win it.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
He won that game, yes, because not only did he
had to score a touchdown, he had to didn't get
the two point converge.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
You see that pass that was batted down, That was
the two point conversion.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
Now that was the earlier one.
Speaker 6 (13:07):
I'm talking about him after the one A show and
right on our TV right now. But you needed that
would have won at the end of and you need
a break every now and again. Sam Donald did what
he was supposed to do. That fourth quarter didn't look great,
and that's what made it great because Sam Donald, historically,
I would agree with you. It would have been three
four more interceptions. He'd have had a bad game like
Jared Goff had in the postseason last year. Sam Donald
(13:29):
would have a frazzle and everybody would have known it's
over the gunslinger. Matt Safford throwing for four hundred yards.
He can't do anything against the Rams. He already had
six total between last game and this one last night,
six intersections against the Rams.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
You know what he did.
Speaker 6 (13:43):
He buckled up, buckled down, locked in and made game
winning throws, not lucky throws, game winning throws, and let
his team down and is now potentially can win a
division Mike mets around and has the Rams in a
really awkward situation now because of how good the forty
nine ers are and potentially beat the MVP and might
best run to win the whole entire conference. That was
(14:05):
the performance that he needed. That was something he can
build off of. And he is not Joe montanis not
to return to John l Way. But you have to
get some of those under your belt. You have to
crawl before your walk, and he was able to do that. Listen,
Sam Darnald for four or five years, was in bad situations.
One playing good with the Panthers. With the Jets, things
weren't good. Goes to a good Viking situation and thrive.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Didn't play great on a couple of games, not not
a couple of games in the biggest game in the
biggest things in the year. But he came through and
he and he and he got them to fourteen three
in the postseason, and he fell short.
Speaker 6 (14:37):
But what I'm saying is didn't play. If he didn't,
he didn't. But if he does that they don't want
him to cast him off. Would have been great to
have him this year goes to Seahawks and is playing
well and now have them mess around to winning.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
The division of a count.
Speaker 6 (14:49):
You gotta put some respect week before, not respect respect
on his name, like bird Man told you.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (14:57):
That was a good win, a great win for him,
confidence builder, and they gotta feel really great because they
had no reason to win that game until he buckled
down and made some insane throws.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
Eight seven seven ninety nine Off Fox. You want to
hear from you?
Speaker 3 (15:09):

(17:19):
you ain't buying it? What else you want the man
to do? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Who
we got Dave in Washington. You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
What's up, Dave?
Speaker 12 (17:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (17:29):
Hey, oh you good doing. I love your show.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Thank you.
Speaker 13 (17:31):
Colvin's right on, man, He's spot on. Rob, You're wrong
and this is why you look at what he did
twelve games, two different teams, even on your network. They're
talking about it today. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Yeah, why was he on twelve to two different teams, cause
Minnesota's tripping you know it last year and don't tell me, uh,
don't tell me that, Dave.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
When you were watching the first three and a.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Half quarters, three quarters, you were like, oh, yeah, this
is my quarterback.
Speaker 13 (18:00):
He's so clutch back Rob I was tipping him back.
I couldn't believe that, and I figured he was going
to have that bad time and he did. But you know,
how you respond is what you got to look at.
And I blame the organization that drafted him and wasted
so much talent. He's finally with a team and the
place that he's going to grow, but they're letting him
(18:21):
fuck up.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Oh all right, all right, Dave, tipping them back, Dave?
Come on, Dave, how about Mike and Seattle. You're on
the odd couple file. You know, Mike gotta be Hike.
Speaker 9 (18:33):
Okay, So uh this is for Dave. Look, that was
a three part win for the Seahawks in this order.
The defense for locking them down after two turnovers, the
special team for the touchdown that swayed the momentum. And
Sam Darman.
Speaker 5 (18:47):
So that's that.
Speaker 9 (18:48):
As far as Sam as a quarterback, the poor guy,
I don't know, for being traded for so long and
being back up, he's lost his and sense to be
able to handle adversity anytime when it goes off rails,
it goes off. Yes, it's happy, Pete. So is he
the guy? I don't who.
Speaker 10 (19:06):
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (19:07):
I mean his record said he would would say he is.
But you got to look at those wins. Look at
last week four turnovers. He's doing great, but he's still
leads the league in turnovers. There you go, and so
there's you know, you can't really.
Speaker 10 (19:21):
Say he's it was his win or he's the.
Speaker 9 (19:25):
Man because in the big games he does true, he.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
Played play plays poorly for three quarters. You're like, what happened?
Speaker 4 (19:33):
Lucy?
Speaker 3 (19:33):
It was so bad?
Speaker 6 (19:35):
Rob, I want to come. I'm telling you how bad?
You about to give you another haircut. You set up
here and yelled about Josh Allen. What a comeback, what
a great Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
But he can't to do that because he's nothing. He
ain't got that that narrative, that the same MVP he got,
the same narrative he.
Speaker 6 (19:51):
Has the he ain't won the big one yet because
the Boogeyman was in his way.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Brian in North Carolina, you're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up beat?
Speaker 10 (20:00):
Hey, love the show. You guys are hilarious.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
Thank you, we appreciate it.
Speaker 10 (20:04):
Yes, So let me ask you what, then? What criteria
does he need to meet in order for you.
Speaker 9 (20:13):
To finally give him some praise?
Speaker 10 (20:14):
If you already met the criteria and you still refuse
to get praise to the guy, what's he got to
do now?
Speaker 9 (20:22):
The super Bowl?
Speaker 4 (20:23):
Yes, when he wins the super Bowl. When he wins
the super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
I can see Okay, I'll con see this.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
This is what you see. This is what I'm dealing
with every day. This is what I'm dealing with. I
can't win too many Supers.
Speaker 6 (20:37):
Because if he wins it, he's gonna be like, so
everybody wins one?
Speaker 3 (20:42):
What super Bowl is not? Go Matt in Idaho? You're
on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Matt?
Speaker 5 (20:50):
How's it going? Guys? Hey, I got a first rob.
I agree with you. I don't think he played that
great in that game. However, look at those two picks.
Both were defensive great plays. The first one look like
man coverage. You run that slant? Yeah, nice side, nice
and quick. I'm not going to knock that resh's coming
on him second wing to give him a little bit more.
He dumps it off and the one defensive line and
dropped right in front of it.
Speaker 13 (21:10):
So two great plays.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
He also had a lucky two point. He had a
lucky two point conversion that easily could have gone a
straight right.
Speaker 5 (21:16):
But name a Super Bowl team where they didn't have
some lucky breaks against or against for them or against
them during the season. During the playoffs, we can talk
about that catch that Matthew Stafford won against those Bengals
by Cooper Cup. Could we not say that was a
lucky break? That's his credit for winning one? I mean,
you got to give the man at least a little
bit of cracket. He's got twelve wins and even with
(21:38):
the most turnovers we talked about wins being whether it's
not or isn't.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
The turnovers don't bother you when they lose one, when
they losing the playoffs, when they lose in the playoffs
and he has a bad game and has three or
four turnovers like we saw last year with the Lions, right,
didn't we see that?
Speaker 2 (21:53):
Then we see what was a four teen over, and
we can we can give him that properly.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
He beat the number one seed rams a division.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
Right, he didn't show.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
I'm about to send you to Dotty's flowers.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
All right, real quick, he drew, real quick. We got
less than a minute. What real quick?
Speaker 4 (22:11):
Drew? What do you think drew? Yet? We got a minute?
Speaker 12 (22:18):
I got a second. So, if you're winning a game,
if you're the you're the one that's sold the reason
for winning. If you have six turnovers and two games
and the point differential is only two points, So can
you really say you're the most valuable player? What he's
done this past game does not erase everything. Let's do more.
(22:39):
But that just shows how loaded the Seahawks are.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Yeah, nobody's saying he's the m v P. Drew.
Speaker 6 (22:44):
Thank you for the call, nobody, But they're saying he
won and got a big game. People question it, he
got it done, And yes, that team definitely kept him
in a couple of games.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
I can't wait to hear from Adam Kaplan.
Speaker 6 (22:53):
All right, let's do that. We'll do that in just
a moment. Adam Kaplan coming up after Steve the Seger
gives us what's turning?
Speaker 14 (22:58):
Hey, Steve, Hello, The opener of the college football playoff
kicks off in forty minutes. It is number eight Oklahoma
hosting number nine Alabama. Oklahoma one at Bama about a
month ago in a close game. The three other first
rounders are on Saturday, including number ten Miami at Texas
A and M. The two playoff games given to TNT
on Saturday are two Lane at Ole, miss Mississippi already
(23:20):
beat two Lane forty five to ten, and James Madison
at Oregon tomorrow night. Those are opposite two NFL games
on Fox TV. By the way, Purdue re hired defensive
coordinator Kevin Kane and in Tampa today, NC State won
a bowl game against Memphis. Thirty one seven. Arizona Cardinals
wide receiver Marvin Harrison Junior says he'll return Sunday from
(23:40):
a heel injury. Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson will remain
on IR so he's out for the season. Seattle linebacker
Derek Hall was suspended one game for on sportsmanlike conduct.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
He will appeal in the NBA.
Speaker 14 (23:53):
The Knicks are in action and down late first quarter
twenty seven to twenty three against Philadelphia. Coming up in
the late game in a couple hours, Oklahoma City at Minnesota.
In the NHL, we have five games, including underway Hurricanes

soccer player Tyler Adams will miss up to three months

Angels agreed to a settlement with the family of their
late pitcher Tyler Skaggs, after thirty one days in court.
Nine Major League teams will pay a luxury tax, including
the Dodgers paying a record one hundred and sixty nine
million dollars. The Mets pay over ninety million dollars and
missed the playoffs. The tax total from the nine teams
is over four hundred mil and it's due to be
paid in about a month. The Rays traded pitcher Shane
(24:38):
Bazz to Baltimore and traded infielder Brandon Laud of Pittsburgh.
The Phillies traded reliever Matt Strom to the Royals. A reminder,
the two NFL games Saturday on Fox TV, Philadelphia at
Washington and Green Bay at Chicago. Eagles can clinch the
division title with a win Saturday.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
Back to you, Steve, thank you, SKA.

CAP's always a good dude. What's up, brother, what's happening?
Speaker 15 (25:39):
Guy's good to talk to you O this Friday night
on which could be separating Sunday coming up here.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
No doubt.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
But I want you to know that we started this
show with fire and brimstone cause I'm over. I'm not
letting Sam Darnold off the hook either. After those first
three quarters that was horrific.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
Yeah, you can't.
Speaker 15 (25:57):
The first he had four picks in the first game
and they would have won that game. There's no question
in LA that they would have won it. Six turnovers
over all these had in two games against LA, and
that that's not good. Sam Darnold there was a story
from his implosion with the Vikings, had it phenomenal season
until late last season against the Vikings with the Vikings
and he just imploded. And that the pick to Kobe Turner,
(26:21):
why are you fading back throwing off your back foot, Like,
what are you doing there? It's just just that I
got to know better than that that gods would turn
it over a lot. Some guys could shake it. Some
guys can't. I would worry about him. And the reason
why they're so good guys, their defense is elite. Yes,
they're about four or five league teams with We saw.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
It in the fourth quarter where Matt Stafford and the
Rams four uh they had four punts three straight.
Speaker 4 (26:48):
Just crazy.
Speaker 15 (26:49):
Think about this now, I know there was overtime, and
think about this Stafford, based on what you were saying,
still four fifty seven and they still shut him down late. Right,
It's one of the strangest, most interesting games so much.
Now I'll admit it, I did pick Seattle. When I
look boy, I so did. I still picked pick New
England to win this past week, so I'm still hurting
(27:09):
from that one. But that that, look, the Rams are
the better team. To me, I don't that was a
choke job. Come on you too, Yeah, they're a better team.
Speaker 6 (27:19):
We'll we'll, yeah, we'll. We'll disagree on that. Rob and
I will talk a little bit more about this though.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
Why do you think that Seattle's better than them?
Speaker 2 (27:25):
No?
Speaker 4 (27:25):
No, no, I'm talking about the choke job. Not I don't
think Sianna. Well, I mean you're up sixteen points, yeah, exactly.
What what would you call it?
Speaker 6 (27:33):
Well, I will, Rob, I'll say it because he and
I are getting into that a little bit later on.
Speaker 15 (27:38):
Shit, I mean a pumper turn. It's crazy. I mean,
you can't count and listen.
Speaker 6 (27:41):
The same guy that you both and I agree that
both typically hasn't made those those plays, especially when things
aren't going his way. Finally had to turn around and
make those plays routinely through some great passes and had
a two point conversions. So uh, and then not to
mention it wasn't just him, the defense stepped up. So
to me that I can't look at that as choke
when we had to do our part on the team
(28:01):
that was balling on us.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
But again, you can't lose the sixteen point leader in
the fourth quarter. But it happens. I mean, if you're
you talking about the Patriots, I'm up twenty.
Speaker 6 (28:09):
What I'm saying, right, I'm up and I'm and I'm
the leading, I'm the best, I'm the best team in
the conference.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
I'm up twenty one. Nothing.
Speaker 6 (28:15):
I got an MVP candidate. You can't lose that game.
It's the same thing. It happens. Speaking I was speaking
of that. Stay on this Matthew Stafford, what he's doing
at thirty seven. He's been an amazing throw of the
ball his whole career. We know that he's like when.
Speaker 15 (28:28):
The game, he's already run a super Bowl with them,
So he's on he has won a Super I know, right,
And so I told Rob to me, I don't And
this is coming from a guy who's from the Detroit area.
He is not a shoe in the MV to be
his Hall of Famer for me, but a super Bowl
as he has a super Bowl title and then now
an MVP, he.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
Doesn't have an MVP stop set. Yeah, he gets it.
Speaker 6 (28:50):
I'm saying it's that easy. I don't think it's a layer.
I think those two things could could get him there.
How great has he been and you're expecting to be
this great one just six months ago, he.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
Might not have been on the Dago right, it's crazy.
Speaker 15 (29:02):
I know they were trying to move him because they
wanted to get younger, and they had a cap issue,
and they found a way Stafford. Stafford was agreeable to
what they were willing to do, and he came back
and they're better for it. It's they're really well coached.
Stafford's had a great season. In fact, it's amazing in
the streak, the season of twenty eighth straight touchdowns, had
(29:24):
a pick, and then he had a game of Carolina,
which is one of those odd games. Every there's no
perfect team. Everyone has a bad game, and he did
there and they did. But let's not forget though, with Stafford.
Speaker 4 (29:35):
And the Rams.
Speaker 15 (29:37):
They they were up guys, you know you talk about
Rob I don't know if you remember this late third quarter,
they're up by nineteen. In Philly, they're up twenty six
to seven, and this game was a blowout. They had them,
they had them dead. To write Philly and the boot
Birds came out in Philly. It was kind of comical
because the Eagles looked like they didn't show up. Yep,
the block, the block kicks two of them. Ye see,
(29:59):
that's the thing. Is that a choke. Nineteen points as
a choke, but you got to base.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
I mean, it's chokes. It's a weird thing.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
And this is why I think Josh Allen has a
real shot.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
He's had three wins this year where his team was
out of it start the season.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Right in Baltimore, he gave up forty points to defense.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
They won that game. And by the way, he's.
Speaker 15 (30:24):
Had some really this is though, he's had some bad
games where you go, man, what is wrong with the
Now that what I'm told by a couple of league
sourciers who have let's say that they have intimate knowledge
of their their Buffalo's offensive tape because they've gone against them.
They don't like that scheme that Joe Brady runs past
concepts aren't great, don't love it. You know, James Cook
(30:45):
is terrific, probably better than his brother Dalvin. But Josh Allen,
who's done something that most quarterbacks can't do come out
of college who were inaccurate. He's a he was a
below sixty percent passer in college, and most of those
guys never make it. Drew Bletto is one of the few.
He's ever done it. He's a special athlete. This kid,
Josh Allen. I've he's an incredible player. And they're not
by the way, they don't they're not very good at receiver.
(31:07):
They they're they have like four or five guys. They
don't have a true number one.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
And the flip side is Matthew Stafford has nothing but weapons.
When you add Davante, I mean like like you should
be with the with.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
Withst Site last he's still for four to fifteen.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
But I'm saying with Pooka and you know what I
mean with Pooka and and DeVante. So he has like
these unbelievable weapons.
Speaker 15 (31:28):
That twenty five Poka last night, come on now and
that's coming up all the drama too.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
You know you were guy too.
Speaker 15 (31:34):
He is a you know, by the way, just so
you know, a little inside football, poking a CooA will
never know this, but this is the way people look
at poking a co around the league. He's a scheme
based player. He's not a true outside receiver, they reduce him,
they kind of move him inside with it. He's got
a big frame, and he knows how to run routes
and and and they scheme him open outcause he has Stafford.
(31:55):
But he would not be as good with other teams.
It's just one of these things where he's on the
perfect scheme. He's an unbelievable player in that scheme. I
just want people understands.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
Draymond Green, who if he doesn't go to the Warriors,
you know what I mean, seriously, Adam, he wouldn't wouldn't
have had that.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
You know what. But he's a stunt. I mean in
this scheme, he's he's incredible, right, let's not it's ridiculous.
Big game Lions, and uh what are the Steelers?
Speaker 3 (32:15):
Steelers that's on Saturday or Sunday?
Speaker 4 (32:18):
No Sunday, Sunday.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
Yeah, twenty five, big big game. Obviously the coup Steelers say, yeah,
big game for the odd couple because we have we
have two.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
Bets riding on that game.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
And my point is if the Lions lose that, there
their their chance to make the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
Right.
Speaker 15 (32:37):
Oh they're I mean they're barely I mean they're really
they wouldn't be in if if it's started today. But yeah,
they're they're they're they're life support to make the.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
Players exactly uh and and and the Steelers have a
one game lead over the Ravens, so this is an important.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
Game for them.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
Just talk about that game and where the Lions are that,
you know, a year ago there were fifteen and two
and here they are eight and six, you know, and
trying to survive.
Speaker 15 (32:59):
Yeah, I mean we talked about this a couple of
weeks ago. I just was not high in the Lions
this season. There were my team three years ago when
no one was talking about them. But Dan Campbell's a
really good coach. He had to make a tough decision
to take over the play calling.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
I mean, he's done a nice job with it.
Speaker 15 (33:11):
But there's something going on, rob Why do they have
all these injuries? This is the third straight year they've
had massive particularly less two. That's something that other people
have kind of clued me on. It's kind of subjective
because you don't quite know how they're being trained or
but why do they keep having these massive injuries, particularly
in the secondary. There's Brian Branch of twenty Killies that
(33:33):
could happen in any game. That was a tough one.
But they've been devastated a corner for two seasons. They
have zero chance to do anything. Even if they get in,
they're just they're not going to get a bunch of guys.
There's some plasure you're not going to get back. That's
not good. Now in that game, I do like the
Lions a slight lean towards the Lions. Now the Steelers
without what that's massive. They have a couple of other
(33:53):
guys who are out for this game. They're another team
that they have to look. The Steelers have to finally
look at themselves and go where are we going here?
I know the talker on the team is they want
Rogers back. That's great, but they have not been able
to develop a quarterback since Rothberg are retired.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
They definitely need to develop one. No, they need one
and they need they need.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
A playoff win. I think Mike tom.
Speaker 15 (34:16):
Once at sixteen, think about yeah, organization, that's my point.
Let me make this point. One organization would keep the
head coach if he doesn't want to playoff.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
Fack agree, he's still living off of that Super Bowl.
I know they went to two.
Speaker 15 (34:30):
They make it all. They pretty much make it every year,
but they don't. They don't do anything. Marvin Lewis. Look,
he couldn't win the playoffs if he was he was
seven always, but he didn't win in the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
And yeah, so yeah, it's kind of amazing to me.
I know that.
Speaker 15 (34:44):
You know, there's a reason why they win a lot,
but because they've only had three head coaches in team history.
But there's it's just kind of bizarre here what they've
done here that they there's there's very there's a little
bit of a lack of accountability, is what the people
are in the league believe here.
Speaker 6 (34:56):
Yeah, I think they've banked on the stability that are
stuck with it.
Speaker 4 (34:59):
We appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (35:00):
Man.

Ninety four and eighty seven is all total? And here
we go tonight. My best bet?
Speaker 4 (38:00):
Who you got?
Speaker 3 (38:01):
San Antonio Spurs minus three and a half to We're
in Atlanta taking on the Hawks. Okay, I got Cleveland
minus four and a half. They are hosting the Chicago
Bulls in Cleveland.
Speaker 4 (38:11):
Looking good right now?
Speaker 3 (38:12):
So in Oklahoma City Thunder minus seven and a half.
They're in Minnesota taking on the Tea Wolves. So there
you go, Timber, I mean the Thunder minus seven and
a half, Cavaliers minus four and a half, and the
Spurs minus three and a half. And remember, Calvin, what's
that I'm not telling you who to bet on? I'm
telling you who I bet on.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
All Right, there you have it. We'll see how you did.
Uh looking all right with that?
Speaker 6 (38:37):
When we got that game up there in front of
us right now, Calves and the Bulls, al Michaels obviously
on the call for a great comeback from the Seahawks
two point conversion was needed. I don't know if we
have that. Do we have that at all? I don't
know if we have it, if we Okay, why they
look it up? But you texted and you're like, hey, man,
you know ol uh.
Speaker 4 (38:58):
OL's eighty one? Can I say that? Really?
Speaker 3 (39:01):
He's eighty one and he wants to come back for you.
He's like openly talking that, you know, he wants to
be brought back.
Speaker 4 (39:06):
I guess without the AI thing where he is owing AI,
I guess they use his voice for the opens and
certain things. And I just you saying they need a
AI the whole game.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
No, I don't want that, that what you're saying. But
I think that people like you gotta be careful, and
I think the people around you, your loved ones and
people be specific.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
What happened though?
Speaker 3 (39:26):
Why you Yeah, I just thought that the call was
awful on the lasts. Yeah, but to do out the game,
he's he's behind on everything, and I get it, he's
eighty one years old. Everything is like it happens someone obviously,
his spotter is telling him.
Speaker 4 (39:41):
And then he says, who, we're already starting the next thing,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (39:44):
Like that.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
Then he's it's it's not like he knows who has it.
He the play happens, his spotter in his ears says, Okay,
that's turner or whoever, you know what I mean, and
then he's a turner with the ball, but it's seconds late.
And so the consider how how great he was, and
this guy's a legendary broadcaster, one of the best. Start.
He was a Cincinnati Reds baby announcer.
Speaker 4 (40:07):
He did baseball, he did football, all that.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
He's a great announcer was but it comes a time
and I just had like, like, I give Bob Costas
a couple of years ago, did playoff games and people complain.
Fans were like, Bob, okay, and you know what Bob did.
He stepped down from doing play by play. It's just okay.
It's it's okay. And I hate to see where no
(40:34):
one's willing to tell al michaels Man, you were amazing career.
We don't want we don't want to We don't want
you to go out like this where people fan football
fans are demanding that he'd be taking off or ripping
al michaels after every Thursday night came. I don't think
it's I feel bad that that's the way it's happening.
Speaker 6 (40:53):
It has to be somebody you love, a spouse, a child,
you know, hate the pops, you had a great rule.
Come on, he says, yeah, come on, be your grandfather.
And nobody wants to be the bad person. Nobody wants
to do that. And I'm gonna give you an example,
because I'm gonna give you an example. Dick Clark doing
the ball drop after he had a stroke. After that
(41:13):
was the worst thing I ever said. I felt bad,
But you knowbody wants to say it was America, No,
America's oldest teenage because young was youthful on everything, and
his family allowed him to go on and do the countdown.
Speaker 4 (41:26):
As and it was bad. If anybody recalls, it was
really bad.
Speaker 6 (41:29):
And Ryan t. Krest had to prop them up, and
it was bad. And my point is, somebody's got to
be in your life, that you before it happens. Though, Hey,
if I get to this point, bab stop, you have
my roy I'm telling you now, just tell me, bag,
give me that look that it's that time. And sometimes
we all need that, some true taillers in our life
