games of the year. That was a good game, It
really was. It was a fun game. It's not often
you see a team down by sixteen points in the
fourth quarter and win. You know why, because it never happened.
It had never happened.

Unbelievable down sixteen points. The other team had no turnovers.
I'm talking about the rams. They had over five hundred
yards in offense, right over over five hundred. No team
had ever lost the game where they had no turnovers.
They had over five hundred yards. They were led by
sixteen in the fourth quarter, in the fourth quarter and

wind up losing. And I know all of the people
decided this is the day that they were going to
sing the praises of Sam donald But I'm not one
of them, Sam DONALDA. I know they won the game,
but I'm gonna tell you, I'm gonna give it to

you real Okay, Sam Donald got balled, bailed out, and
got a reprieve from the Rams. That's what that was. Yeah,
the writers and sports writers in the press box had
to change the stories that they had written after three
quarters about how he can't win a big game and
the Rams choke, and in the process they let Sam

Donald off the hook. And I'm talking about for right
now because this still follows him and the reason it
still follows him, And I heard Colin recite a stat
earlier and other people were.

Talking about it as well.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
First quarterback to win twelve games with two different teams.
All right, that's not a badge of honor. It's an
indictment of Sam Donald because most guys who win twelve
games going to another team the next year, not just fact.
Would you agree with that most of the time? Okay,
you're not going nowhere else, So twelve wins is great.
Speaker 6 (09:08):
I'm shocked by that, though I thought Joe Montana, like
with Kansas City, it wasn't twelve.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
Yeah, okay, I was shocked to you that did that.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
But unless, of course, you're Sam Donald. And that's why
the Minnesota Vikings didn't buy into him before this game.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
I told you I didn't buy him. The Sam Donald
who went.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
The bed last year and the two biggest games of
the year won for the division right against the Lions,
and then of course in the playoff game against the Rams,
and he did exactly the same thing. Did you watch
the first three quarters? He was atrocious, he was awful,
and all of a sudden down by sixteen. It was

the punk return that changed that game. You know that
when you could score on the special teams and not
have a law drive and eat up Clark and that
turned the game around.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
It wasn't Sam Donald.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
And then the big controversial which really wasn't controversial when
you watch the replay of it, the two point conversion.
That was one of the luckiest plays in the history
of sports that you'll ever see because it bailed Sam
Donald out and he's lucky.

I don't know who was the dB for the Rams.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
What the ball went right through like hit him in
the chest and went through and bounced and of course
they were lucky that the ball was picked up.

What's a guy's named Charbonneau, right who.

Picked up the ball, who just arbitrent like really just
picked it up to pick it up. And he's in
the end zone so they get the two point conversion.
The original pass was awful. That should have been the game,
and he could have lost right there, and people would
be talking about Sam Donald right now. Sam Donald is

not off the hook with yours truly, and there'll be
another game. And last early on, those three quarters proved
to me why the Vikings parted with him and why
people were talking about Sam Donald up until that game
turned around. And they gotta win, and I get it.
Winning is the greatest makeup ever. It covers up everything,

and I get it. He threw a couple touchdowns, he
was able to get those two point conversions, even though
one was super lucky, and they won the game. And
nobody in Seattle's gonna be mad today and people are
gonna look the other way. But Sam Donald did not
change my mind about him.

In Big Game, Elijah put the camera on me. I'm
so mad at you right now.

You know why I'm mad at you. I'm mad at
you because Shay. The best part about this is, say
you were here yesterday, Elijah. You were here yesterday, so
you heard my partner in crime, Rob Parker, sit two
feet away from me and tell me, you know what
if he plays well and if he wins this big game,
and if he can get a big game on a
primetime moment, I'll give him some credit. And you know

what he did. He beat the MVP in a game
where he was tacking on the first half. And you
know what you said to me a week ago. I
came in here and I was like, Josh Allen, I
don't know. He's obviously great, but that first half he
was down twenty one nothing Patriots.

And you said, and that's what made it great.
Speaker 6 (12:16):
He came back for twenty one down and had a
great second half. Sam Darnold had a great second, third quarter, second,
he did not win half of the third quarter and
all over down in the fourth quarter sixty point you
I just throw it an interception to the fourth and
that's why it was great. But the difference he's down
and came back. You don't have a nother don't want
to hear Josh. I'll let you Josh Allen doesn't have

a narrative that he went big game. He does in
the postseason. He does now, I don't want to hear it.

Dagget, you said you're gonna come on here, if he
got a big win, if he made big plays, if
he beat the potential MVP of Matthew Stafford. And that's
what he did. He made great throws that fourth quarter.

He won that game. He had to go out there
and win it.

He won that game, yes, because not only did he
had to score a touchdown, he had to didn't get
the two point converge.

You see that pass that was batted down, That was
the two point conversion.

I'm talking about him after the one A show and
right on our TV right now. But you needed that
would have won at the end of and you need
a break every now and again. Sam Donald did what
he was supposed to do. That fourth quarter didn't look great,
and that's what made it great because Sam Donald, historically,
I would agree with you. It would have been three
four more interceptions. He'd have had a bad game like
Jared Goff had in the postseason last year. Sam Donald

would have a frazzle and everybody would have known it's
over the gunslinger. Matt Safford throwing for four hundred yards.
He can't do anything against the Rams. He already had
six total between last game and this one last night,
six intersections against the Rams.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
You know what he did.

He buckled up, buckled down, locked in and made game
winning throws, not lucky throws, game winning throws, and let
his team down and is now potentially can win a
division Mike mets around and has the Rams in a
really awkward situation now because of how good the forty
nine ers are and potentially beat the MVP and might
best run to win the whole entire conference. That was

the performance that he needed. That was something he can
build off of. And he is not Joe montanis not
to return to John l Way. But you have to
get some of those under your belt. You have to
crawl before your walk, and he was able to do that. Listen,
Sam Darnald for four or five years, was in bad situations.
One playing good with the Panthers. With the Jets, things
weren't good. Goes to a good Viking situation and thrive.

Didn't play great on a couple of games, not not
a couple of games in the biggest game in the
biggest things in the year. But he came through and
he and he and he got them to fourteen three
in the postseason, and he fell short.

But what I'm saying is didn't play. If he didn't,
he didn't. But if he does that they don't want
him to cast him off. Would have been great to
have him this year goes to Seahawks and is playing
well and now have them mess around to winning.

down and made some insane throws.

I agree with you. I don't think he played that
great in that game. However, look at those two picks.
Both were defensive great plays. The first one look like
man coverage. You run that slant? Yeah, nice side, nice
and quick. I'm not going to knock that resh's coming
on him second wing to give him a little bit more.
He dumps it off and the one defensive line and
dropped right in front of it.

lucky two point conversion that easily could have gone a

by Cooper Cup. Could we not say that was a

But there's something going on, rob Why do they have
all these injuries? This is the third straight year they've
had massive particularly less two. That's something that other people

but why do they keep having these massive injuries, particularly

that they have to look. The Steelers have to finally
look at themselves and go where are we going here?

now because this still follows him and the reason it
still follows him, And I heard Colin recite a stat

All right, that's not a badge of honor. It's an
indictment of Sam Donald because most guys who win twelve
games going to another team the next year, not just fact.

I'm shocked by that, though I thought Joe Montana, like
with Kansas City, it wasn't twelve.

the year won for the division right against the Lions,
and then of course in the playoff game against the Rams,

the punk return that changed that game. You know that
when you could score on the special teams and not
have a law drive and eat up Clark and that
turned the game around.

And then the big controversial which really wasn't controversial when
you watch the replay of it, the two point conversion.
That was one of the luckiest plays in the history
of sports that you'll ever see because it bailed Sam
Donald out and he's lucky.

What the ball went right through like hit him in
the chest and went through and bounced and of course
they were lucky that the ball was picked up.

The original pass was awful. That should have been the game,

another game. And last early on, those three quarters proved
to me why the Vikings parted with him and why
people were talking about Sam Donald up until that game
turned around. And they gotta win, and I get it.
Winning is the greatest makeup ever. It covers up everything,

and I get it. He threw a couple touchdowns, he
was able to get those two point conversions, even though
one was super lucky, and they won the game. And
nobody in Seattle's gonna be mad today and people are
gonna look the other way. But Sam Donald did not
change my mind about him.

over the gunslinger. Matt Safford throwing for four hundred yards.
He can't do anything against the Rams. He already had
six total between last game and this one last night,
six intersections against the Rams.

He buckled up, buckled down, locked in and made game
winning throws, not lucky throws, game winning throws, and let
his team down and is now potentially can win a
division Mike mets around and has the Rams in a
really awkward situation now because of how good the forty
nine ers are and potentially beat the MVP and might
best run to win the whole entire conference. That was

the performance that he needed. That was something he can
build off of. And he is not Joe montanis not
to return to John l Way. But you have to
get some of those under your belt. You have to
crawl before your walk, and he was able to do that. Listen,
Sam Darnald for four or five years, was in bad situations.
One playing good with the Panthers. With the Jets, things
weren't good. Goes to a good Viking situation and thrive.

biggest things in the year. But he came through and

make those plays routinely through some great passes and had
a two point conversions. So uh, and then not to
mention it wasn't just him, the defense stepped up. So
to me that I can't look at that as choke
when we had to do our part on the team

He is not a shoe in the MV to be

and they're better for it. It's they're really well coached.
Stafford's had a great season. In fact, it's amazing in
the streak, the season of twenty eighth straight touchdowns, had

a pick, and then he had a game of Carolina,
which is one of those odd games. Every there's no
perfect team. Everyone has a bad game, and he did
there and they did. But let's not forget though, with Stafford.

And the Rams.

They they were up guys, you know you talk about
Rob I don't know if you remember this late third quarter,
they're up by nineteen. In Philly, they're up twenty six
to seven, and this game was a blowout. They had them,
they had them dead. To write Philly and the boot
Birds came out in Philly. It was kind of comical
because the Eagles looked like they didn't show up. Yep,
the block, the block kicks two of them. Ye see,

Just talk about that game and where the Lions are that,

trying to survive.

weeks ago. I just was not high in the Lions
this season. There were my team three years ago when
no one was talking about them. But Dan Campbell's a
really good coach. He had to make a tough decision
to take over the play calling.

I mean, he's done a nice job with it.

But there's something going on, rob Why do they have
all these injuries? This is the third straight year they've
had massive particularly less two. That's something that other people
have kind of clued me on. It's kind of subjective
because you don't quite know how they're being trained or
but why do they keep having these massive injuries, particularly
in the secondary. There's Brian Branch of twenty Killies that

could happen in any game. That was a tough one.
But they've been devastated a corner for two seasons. They
have zero chance to do anything. Even if they get in,
they're just they're not going to get a bunch of guys.
There's some plasure you're not going to get back. That's
not good. Now in that game, I do like the
Lions a slight lean towards the Lions. Now the Steelers
without what that's massive. They have a couple of other

guys who are out for this game. They're another team
that they have to look. The Steelers have to finally
look at themselves and go where are we going here?
I know the talker on the team is they want
Rogers back. That's great, but they have not been able
to develop a quarterback since Rothberg are retired.

They definitely need to develop one. No, they need one
and they need they need.

Once at sixteen, think about yeah, organization, that's my point.

it was bad. And my point is, somebody's got to
