Speaker 3 (03:10):
He's still left from the Super Bowl rock and you know,

Speaker 1 (03:32):
I'm saying he's doing an exceptional God just text me
and said what you do all the time.

Speaker 7 (03:37):
Was calling me an affirmative action higher.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
This no, No, we already did what we did with
the We already did. We're done with the ee I
look with this, it looked like a d I you
got up in here.

Speaker 7 (03:48):
Correction. Actually, Alex is the.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
Alex Alex on this show. You DEI, Yes, that is me.
But then you made up for it with your girls.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
So you know, if we.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
Went to a restaurant, they'd be asking Alex to get
the car.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
You know, I'm just saying, it's true.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
You have Alex in this one, this version, this version
of America. You would have to go around back. Dang it,
that's true. Yes, all right, all right, so we uh
have a big show.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
Let's welcome in the odd couple crew because we program
without him. Rob g is our producer, Alex is our engineer,
is it Isaac?

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:25):
Well no, Martin, now I think Martin, Yeah, Martin, just okay,
look at that firm.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
I'm telling you, it just keeps giving you. Alex. You
really out numbered boy like you do setting dark in here.
Hit me with it. That's racist, that's got all you do.
One went to Hawaii? Rob G is you so? Martin
Weiss is at the anchor desk.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
Will keep us updated throughout the program and Elijah is
our social media guru. As we march on this soule
trading Martian the odd couple.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
It's the sole trade edition? Is that? Okay? While we
going to be marching? Wow, see see now there's black people.
Now we got to be marching in the streets. We
gotta get what's hours. I told you where we're gonna
make it happen? Oh man, so trained edition?

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Okay, Doc Cornelias, Now he was so cool, he was smooth.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Did he ever fumble stumble? What was a tape show? Dude?

Speaker 5 (05:19):
You've done shows still you can tell when you got
he was always on it.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
All right. Hey, let's go here.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
A big basketball game tonight, big NBA Uh Celtics hosting
the Thunder. And is this a preview you know of
the NBA Finals. I don't think so, but a lot
of people these are two best very well could be
of the best team obviously, the defending champion as the
Celtics and the okay se who has a tremendous record

(05:50):
out west.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Rightly, Cleveland is a better.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Correct And I mean it's funny because as greate as
Cleveland has been, my pick was the Celtics still is
right now to win it all. Obviously, just Pistons, that's
what you got, yep, Celtics, the Pistons. The thing about
you is that you're consistent, consistently, consistantly hate let me
using no rob to make some.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Money on them, like you did yesterday. Matter of fact. No,
just saying, but you can'tnot use Robber.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
He can't use no more, no more secl City Elijah
when he calls you said, I want to use the Pistons.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Is if it starts with a minus meaning they're gonna win. Nope.
Well you always say that I'm always hating on Detroit.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
I'm always you are better with the Pistons than the
line you hate the Lions.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
I don't hate the Lions stance you got. I think
you have an inflated idea of the Lions.

Speaker 5 (06:37):
You said, no, yes, it is continue So so the game.
I don't think this is going to determine anything. It's
great to watch. Just want to say, just like we
saw the Lakers and and the Celtics. That didn't turn
out great, but that was like, oh okay, rivalry the
Celtics and the Lakers.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
The Lakers were hot. That was a game. People wanted
to see.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
We saw the ratings for that uh and then we
saw ok See and Denver back to back on Sunday
and Monday, and that was great. Each team won a game,
each of the MVP candidates all balled out right. SGA
had the big night on Sunday, and then of course
the Joker came back and had his big night on Monday.

(07:18):
But before we, you know, get there, let's talk about
last night for the national Game in the NBA, and
we had Shaq Shaquille O'Neal on TNT talking about the
Detroit Pistons and not doing a good job.

Speaker 8 (07:38):
Will be interested. You said something very interesting about ky
Kennyham great player now this day, she plays at his
own pace. Anybody that can consistently play of their own
place and put up numbers, it's a great player. I
like the way he's playing. I like what Chelsea is doing.
Those guys play hard. My favorite player on that team
was Isaiah Stuart. Big body, hard guy, like to knock
people out of pushing.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Who was doing it?

Speaker 3 (08:00):
He said, that's.

Speaker 8 (08:08):
What I man. You know, first of all, I don't
watch Detroit. How about that boo boot.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
I mean, it's sincerely I think you would enjoy watching
the Detroit Pistol play hard.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Katu is phenomenal. Jalen Durance, you're kind of big, Okay Stewart.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
And the other thing.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
I don't know who the female was on this, And
she's like, well, I couldn't let that go.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
I'm glad you didn't let it go.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
I mean the idea that you were going to let
it go because it was Shack and he messed up
or whatever.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
I mean, come on, and and this is the idea.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
And I'll tell you, Shaq knows he played in the league.
He knows about basketball and all that. But this is
my pushback when when people gravitate to former players and
and expecting them to, I guess, do homework, research and
not just show up and be a big personality, but
actually know what's going on. And if your TNT, you're embarrassed.

(09:11):
Shaq can be embarrassed, but T and T should be
embarrassed as well. You know how many producers they have
behind the scenes, right and and everything. And the idea
that Shaq is going to go out on the set
sit there, they're talking about the Pistons and he doesn't
know who the coach is or that that Chauncey Billups,
who's at all time great Pistons, helped the Pistons beat
the Lakers in two thousand and four.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Sorry Rob g And with the final shack point and
and and this is one of those things.

Speaker 9 (09:40):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
And as a fan, I'm gonna say this and let
you go, what is it that you really want? Do
you want to be educated or entertained? Because if you
just want to be entertained, then he's the guy, Shaq.
But if you want to be educated, then he's not
the guy. And we talk about this on this radio
show all the time. Our goal is two things and

(10:03):
have been for the last seven years. Fun and informative.
We just can't have fun here. We gotta give you
some information. We gotta inform you so that you can
take that stuff back to your friends, understand what's going on,
and have those kind of conversations.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
I think that's what's made inside the NBA this show
because Kenny the Jet gives you great insight, great you know,
breakdown of the game. Ernie obviously is the maeshow giving
you the fats of stacks and getting you in and
out of the highlights. So you get that. But then
Chuck and Shack. At some point, I'm gonna take terrible
fantistic They're gonna have their fight, their little debate, they're
gonna argue about something, Shots gonna get pushed into a

(10:42):
Christmas tree, They're gonna outrun, They're gonna make fun of
Kenny's knees.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
And that's to me, the perfect balance.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
So the bigger conversation to me is what we as consumers,
if things, need to understand now, is you have access
to any and everything you want. Gone to the days
where you turn on the TV and it's force fed
to you, you turn on the radio, it's force fed
to you.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
You have options. If you want.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Absolute nothing but pure basketball analysis, you have more, maybe
more options than you've ever had in the history of
the mankind. Now we have a three million podcasts available.
There are podcasts where they bring I mean, they will
break down one play for an hour.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
You have that. If you want to be entertained, you
have that option.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
And this is why to me, I was kind of
shocked where Lebron was kind of going at certain people
and it seemed like it was more geared towards Chuck
and that crew, like you know exactly what that show
has been they draw donuts coming on Charles barkleyhead. They're
there to make you laugh, They're there to drop a
few facts here and there, but overall be entertained while
you watch the game and enjoy the support. So you
have to know what it is, Shaq, ain't who I'm

(11:44):
going for for my great analysis? You know who I
would the woman on that. You were saying, Cannis Parker,
Cannons Parstone.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
I know I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
We were just saying Cannas Parker is brilliant at if
you watch that, Cannis Parker breaks it down.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Shaq's now who you go for for that? And that's
It's okay.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Now he better be on shocked in the fool at
the end of this week, whatever the next, he better shocked.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Better be on shocked in the fool. That's what I know.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
But I think I think it's in come more than
ever you had to do your own like you have
the information.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Now you have the resource. You have the websites.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
We have websites and blogs and things dedicated to it,
to finding all the access and information announces you want.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
I think it's disappointing if you're a fan and you're
listening to guys who played and whatnot, and they just
haven't done the work, or they don't don't know what
they're talking about, or the backstory or or anything that's
involved in it. I think that's why you've seen a
million of those players come and go, you know what

(12:44):
I mean, because they a or they won't they don't
want to criticize other people, or they're in bed with
too many people. I can't talk about that guy. He
went to my college, he's represented by my agent. Yeah,
you know what I mean. And then you're you're trapped.
You're trying, so you can't really say anything. You can't
really be. The best people on television are people who,

(13:06):
as honest as it comes. You can say whatever you
want about Charles and you don't like this, and he's
bashing whatever.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
He's as honest as it.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Gets, tells you exactly what he believes, so to the
point of his own detrimentive his own relationship with Michael Jordan,
his best friend, exactly who you know, he had to
be honest about some stuff, and then Mike took you know,
had hard feelings for it. And they haven't been right since.
Maybe they'll come back around at some point, you hope.
But yeah, and by the way, this is the best
version of Shaq that we've got as far as being

(13:34):
in an you know, analyzing the game and being an analyst,
because if you recall, if you watch the Inside the
NBA story, like the docu series on it, I was
in that. Yeah. They had to tell Shaq like, hey man,
I know it's fun. I know you're Shack and it's
cute now, but you gotta pay attention a little bit.
You got you can't come in here and be a
DJ for four hours and just go back. He literally
with just DJ during the games.

Speaker 5 (13:56):
I swear to you on the first his first night one,
and then they went to a commercial break and somebody
tweeted or something, I swear, turn up shacks, Mike because
he was mumbled up yeah, And that was.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
The first commercial break on it.

Speaker 5 (14:13):
Like I was like, wow, somebody's like, turn up shacks, Mike,
And that was how I talk.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
And you're right, he's gotten better. I like, wow, we
got shuck like numbers. I don't think you puting up
the numbers like that. Need to put them up, you
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
That's what it was. And it was hard to listen to. Obviously,
he has knowledge and we know about his career as a.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Power and Shack's not there for that. Tim Legler is great.

Speaker 5 (14:33):
But when you say not there for that, that doesn't
mean you say, Chauncey Billups is the coach of the Pistols.
That's not being there for that. And I get what
you're talking about. Numbers and break up. That's fine, dude,
you gotta come especially consider a couple of things. One
Chancey's a legend that you shouldn't know that. He's not
like a random car something.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
You know that he beat you in two thousand and four.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
You don't know what Chauncey Billups right, And he has
turned around the Portland team that a been a team
you gotta really beat because they.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Were horror last year and a half.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
So all right, when it comes to sports media, if
you can have both, like on the Odd Couple, fund
and informative, is it more to be educated, more important
to be educated or entertained?

Speaker 3 (15:15):
Where are you? We'll continue that conversation next with you.

Speaker 5 (15:18):
It is The Odd Couple on a worship Wednesday, Rob Parker,
kelvin Washington, right here on Fox Sports Radio stick and stay.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
If you'd also like.

Speaker 6 (15:28):

Rob and I are talking about to be entertained or
be in form when it comes to sports show Shack
with Shack to the Food Thinking Chauncey BILLI was the
coach of the Pistons. How to get correct. It wasn't
a you know, shock, be a little centered about stuff

(17:33):
like that. That's all good.

Speaker 5 (17:35):
It ain't the end of the world. But it looked bad. Yeah,
it's just one of those moments. But what do you
go for when it comes to your sports shows? A
seven seven ninety nine on Fox So we got all right,
Jimmy in Seattle. You're on the Ony couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up, Jimmy?

Speaker 10 (17:49):
So, guys, I wanted to.

Speaker 11 (17:51):
Say thank you for taking my call.

Speaker 10 (17:52):
First thof.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
I'm thinking on this show, we appreciate checking Jimmy.

Speaker 12 (17:58):
Yes, yeah, thank you, sir.

Speaker 10 (18:00):
I wanted to talk with you about what I heard
earlier about Shack and his mistake and error. And I
know we all make mistakes theres, but I do want.

Speaker 9 (18:10):
To point out that we all span of different sports.
We appreciate what people bring to the table and a
lot of directions, and I do think that earlier I
heard Rob say that, no, you know, you come to
our show because we're really valid and we bring him
the real deal. But I do think that Charles Barkley

(18:32):
and Shaquille O'Neil bring a lot of validity that some
of hosts, some top shows could never bring in regards to,
you know, the insight behind the scenes, and the insight
with coaches and the players, relationships, the demons of a
long grueling season. Actually a lot of the injuries that

(18:55):
happen and overall there's things that happened throughout US games
that Charles and Shock has experienced from Jacade.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
There's there's no there's no doubt that they bring that.

Speaker 5 (19:09):
But it also there have been a lot of thanks
for the call, a lot of a lot of former
athlete analysts who can't articulate the game right and and
come and go. You've seen a lot of change of
the guard and faces uh or they don't work at
it or whatever. And then you have to also be
able to communicate. That's an underrated part right there.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Just because you know the game don't mean you can
teach or talk the game, that's for sure, no doubt
you shared the call.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
Nick in New York. You're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up, Nick?

Speaker 2 (19:39):
Hey?

Speaker 11 (19:39):
How you doing? Love the show?

Speaker 3 (19:40):
As you know, Thank you, Nick, You know that, buddy,
you appreciate you.

Speaker 9 (19:44):
Rob We've got a chicken wing place up here.

Speaker 11 (19:46):
On your birthday, they give you your wings, your agent wings
on your birthday.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
What I'm going the old d next January? Where is it?
Where is it in Buffalo? Where are you in New York?
I forgot Rochester, I'm in I'm in Albany.

Speaker 11 (19:59):
But word, rusty.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Nail rusty? Now, okay write that down.

Speaker 10 (20:05):
In your age.

Speaker 11 (20:06):
I'm gonna say, with the state of the NBA, and
you know what the fans are thinking, I think more
people may tune into the halftime, the pregame, and the
after rather than the game. I feel like to go
to the bathroom during the game, like certain play right
and where it's more entertaining.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
I agree, no no argument for me. Nick. It's hard
to argue with that.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
When when NBA inside inside, the NBA was at its
absolute peak, like without a doubt, no doubt, that was
what you were there for.

Speaker 5 (20:34):
Scott in North Carolina, you're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
What's up, Scott?

Speaker 12 (20:39):
What's up? My guys? How y'all doing?

Speaker 3 (20:41):
Scott? Appreciate you calling, don'g good Man.

Speaker 13 (20:44):
I honestly said, you have to have both to be
the sports media personality, entertaining and knowledge. But for me,
if I had to pick one, I have to say
the knowledge. I mean I get entertained watching the football games,
baseball games, basketball games, so I look for TV personality,
behind scene knowledge and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
But you want some information, Yeah, he wants to.

Speaker 13 (21:06):
Be Information is always key.

Speaker 12 (21:08):
You know.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
He would submitt me with for some bars coming by
any means necessary bars was coming next. I could tell
he was serious about that. Appreciate the call. You would
want that. You want the both of them. That's in
the perfect world, and I do think inside the NBA
can give you both. That's why I think Ernie and
Kenny are vital. Sometimes people are man, Kenny can no, No,
I need somebody to break it down. I need I
need Kenny, I need Ernie. You know, do a quick.

(21:30):
One gotta go? Who would it be real quick? Ain't
gonna make me do this?

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Yeah, that's what we're doing. One's gotta go. Shock is shocked.
I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
It's shacked, Chuck. Can we know Chuck Chuck and Ernie
Ernie is driving. Yeah, they cannot go anywhere. Kenny, I
would absolutely prefer not to, but it's so one gotta go, Shack. Okay,
Robb g one gotta go, and there's one gotta go
for today, Shack.

Speaker 7 (21:53):
He's the lesser of the funny guys.

Speaker 5 (21:56):
Yeah, Alex never mind, Alex doesn't want I said as
a sports question, you know, I mean, I thought it
was no.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
I thought I said Elijah. I said Elijah. SAT's ask
Martin Wise to who is gonna give us what's trending?
We got Sean King on the other side, who's gotta go?

Speaker 5 (22:12):
You have to be shocked from here everybody well also
to its.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
Part of it. He mumbles so frequently. We talked about that,
like I need the subtitles.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
You ain't lying when you're right, you know, you know,
I'm here to hear the like that.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
That's crazy things we do like that.

Speaker 5 (22:33):
And the thing about not just getting the coach wrong,
but the record earlier in the day.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
I mean, that's what we had. A caller says, honest mistake.
I'm like, not his mistakes would be saying you forgot
his name and someone told not to say it was
Chauncey like that was.

Speaker 5 (22:47):
And then the child response or kids response was like,
I don't watch them, they're boring.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Yeah, that's okay, Like you got one job.

Speaker 2 (22:59):

Comany live from the Tirerack dot com studios. The Odd
Couple Robin Kelvin on a worship Wednesday, and you know
how we do on Wednesday, we get our man, Sean King.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
We're down with the King.

Speaker 5 (23:20):
Down with the King, former NFL QB Fox Sports Radio
NFL analysts, our guy real Sean King on X on Twitter.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
What's up shot?

Speaker 12 (23:30):
Hey, what is a bag? Man? These guys are getting
the bag. What a time to be alive and be
a free agent in the National Football League.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
All Right, you ain't lying about that, man.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
We were going over some of the numbers obviously the
last two three days, Sean.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
There's some numbers out too bad. They don't have a
good pension plan or yeah, they don't. Got Rob started.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
You already worked up because you know that showing as
a former NFL player or healthcare. I mean that's what
they should be also focused on that sport.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
I just don't understand it.

Speaker 12 (24:00):
By the way, they're throwing out one hundred million dollar
deals with sixty plus million guaranteed. They can go to
Obama chall they can afford it.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Yeah, but you know this, Sean, everybody don't get that.
That's the part right now.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
Seventy five percent of the league ain't getting that, and
they getting a cup of coffee in a suite roll
or maybe three and a half years if they're lucky.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
I mean, that's just the reality of it.

Speaker 12 (24:19):
So for context, I got drafted in nineteen ninety nine.
The rookie minimum was one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars.
The rookie minimum now is I think almost nine hundred thousand.
So the minimum a nine drafted rookie that makes the
team can make is right under a million dollars. So,
I mean, the league is healthy, but I get what

(24:41):
you're saying.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
That's Wrother. They're not healthy. That's the problem.

Speaker 5 (24:44):
The problem is, Sean, And the what bad part is
they're making all this money but having done right by
the players.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
That's that's all. That's my only point about it.

Speaker 12 (24:53):
That's it to your point of contention. One thing that
I do think the players in your needs to address
and making them amendment is the unfairness of these franchise tags, right,
But they signed signed up for it because they want
a less practice than the smoke weed and that's what
they got. Yeah, Because you work your whole life as

(25:14):
a player to make it to the professional ranks. But
once you get there, every player's dream is to be
a valuable asset when they hit free agency, and to
deny a person their market value. Whether you agree with
the market or not. The market is whatever someone's willing
to pay you. That's what you're doing as a professional
ath to leave.

Speaker 5 (25:33):
Well, then then when the next time the CBA is up,
they got to do right with do away with it.
But a lot of people don't expect that to happen.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
All right, We since you a quarterback, brother, let's talk
a little bit of the quarterbacks out there, or at
least who have made some moves. I want to go
with Russell Wilson. We just heard Martin Whitse's giving us
enough that he's got a couple of meetings. Expect to
meet with the Browns and then on Friday he's going
to meet with the Giants. What do you just make
of his proposition and the best fit for him at
this point.

Speaker 12 (26:00):
Russell's a tough for him because I was not in
amorate with how Russell played the game. Like when you
look at the film from Pittsburgh, he was playing to
not be the reason they lost. He wasn't playing to
be the reason they won. If that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
It does scaredess like playing not to lose.

Speaker 12 (26:19):
Yeah, And that version of Russell to me isn't a
very good quarterback. So if he can rekindle that energy
that he had in Seattle where he was trying to
be great, he was willing to take chances, he was
willing to go downfield and create explosive plays, he can
help a team. But that version last year, the ceiling
on wherever he ends up is going to be pretty low.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
All right.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
Let me ask you about Sam Darnold.

Speaker 5 (26:41):
I knew this after the bad game against the Lions
and the playoff loss that he had, you know, lost
people lost confidence in him, and the idea that he
would turn into a pumpkin for the vikis not even
to offer him the franchise tag like they just were
not interested in and keeping him under any circumstance, which
is crazy. With fourteen wins and the numbers. He put

(27:03):
up thirty five touchdowns four thousand yards. What do you
make of Sam Donald like that being his only option
going to Seattle and he gets there and their best
offensive lineman's gone and the two best receivers are gone.

Speaker 12 (27:15):
I think Seattle made a huge mistake on no planet.
Is Sam Donald better than Geno Smith? And I was
happy for Sam Donald last year, but he was in
a perfect situation. Minnesota has the top five offensive line,
they have a top four group of skilled players. They
play indoor in a control environment. Now I's gonna go
to Seattle where it's cold, it's raining, it's darkest, glooming

(27:36):
behind a bad old line and basically only one proven
pass catcher and Jackson Smith and Jig but who's still
a young player. I just don't understand what Seattle's thought
process was. I don't think that's gonna be something we
look back on a year from now, and it's not
gonna be a Baker Mayfield and Tampa situation. I think
a lot of fans are gonna be upset because they're
not gonna get the production out of Donald. I just

(27:58):
don't think he's a guy that hell based everybody around him,
which is what the quarterback in Seattle is gonna have
to do?

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Yes, But Sean, let me say this, well, just a
follow up.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
Can you imagine you remember the scene in the locker
room after they won the week before that Lions game.
You remember they carried him in on their shoulders, throwing
champagne around, and then all of a sudden, that guy
is like posada non grada.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
I mean, well, how shocking was that? Now you're talking
about a wake up call?

Speaker 12 (28:25):
Well, and that's kind of been the issue of Sam Gunn.
I was with him in Carolina. I did the Bill
Watson tternship when Matt Rule was the head coach, and
you know he has talent, but he's just kind of
a deer in the headlights guy when it gets chaotic.
And I think you saw that in the Lions and
the Rams game. He really struggles under pressure to stay composed.

(28:46):
And if you watch the Seahawks last year, they're not
fair good on the old line. No, you know, was
a lot of pressure and I just don't I don't
think that's the environment where where Donald's gonna flourish.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
Yeah, it's just a weird signing for them, especially when
you had already had Gino for you know, one more year.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
It's like, why not just running back? If you playing
on starting over, just let Gino finish his contract out.
He is Sean King, our guest, former NFL quarterback, Fox
Sports Radio NFL analyst Real Shok King. We also just
just stayed with the quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. What are we
doing here? There is the thoughts of Minnesota maybe picking
him up and he maybe be interested there. Obviously you
have the stealer situation. It's just like one of those

(29:23):
two one of those twos. Even what makes the most
sense for you? Maybe from the team standpoint, Sean, and
then maybe from Aaron Rodgers viewpoint.

Speaker 12 (29:32):
I mean, I'm not a big fan of the older
version of Aaron Rodgers. I just feel like the quarterback
has to have certain intangible for you to win a championship.
I think he has to be a guy who's willing
to sacrifice personal desires for team oriented goals. And I
just don't think that describes Aaron Rodgers in twenty twenty five.
I mean, you're talking about a guy that's probably gonna

(29:52):
miss most of your off season program. I'm assuming he's
still gonna want to be on pet McAfee once a week,
you know, like, is that what really want in your buildings?
So you ask me where does he fit? I don't
think there is a great fit. I think there are
some owners that want to sell tickets that can sell
him to their fan base. But as far as where
he's gonna go and be productive and lead that team

(30:13):
to a lot of success, I just don't know that
this version of Aaron Rodgers is the guy to be
looking for the quarterback and lead my team.

Speaker 5 (30:20):
Well, here's the problem is that there aren't a lot
of good quarterbacks. I mean Justin Fields is going to
the Jets and let's let me let's have you address that.
I mean he's been around, you know, the Steelers got
to see him every day.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
He's young, he's kind of dynamic. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (30:35):
I don't know if he can throw the ball consistently
and they didn't want him. What do you make of that?
What is wrong with Justin Fields?

Speaker 12 (30:43):
I don't think anything's wrong with Justin Fields. As great
of a coach as Mike Tomlin is, as a leader
of an organization as Pittsburgh has been, they have not
evaluated the quarterback position well since Rothlisberger. I mean, we're
talking about Landreck Jones, Mason Rudolph, Kenny Pickett, Mitchell Trubisky.
Like they've just continually misfired on their quarterback selection. So

(31:03):
I wouldn't look down on them.

Speaker 5 (31:06):
Not yeah, but I mean, but if he had some
talent there to me in Chicago, they could have kept
him and then decided to use that pick to get
other weapons or pieces for their franchise. So it's not
just Mike Tomlin and nobody else. He got a two year,
forty million dollar contract. I'm just saying, like, if he's dynamic,

(31:28):
like we're trying to say he's with the way he
can run.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
The football and throw the football and be a.

Speaker 5 (31:35):
Dual threat, you would think there'd be more takers. There's
a lot of teams that need quarterbacks.

Speaker 12 (31:41):
Let me say that like this, Ralph Justin Fields is
a younger version of Jalen Hurts. If you put Justin
Fields in a situation like Jalen is in with Philadelphia's,
I think you can win a lot of football games.
We'll seeking Aaron Glenn and the Jets surround him with
enough support. They got Brief Hall that got Gear Wilson,
that they're not devoid of talent, but he's the same

(32:03):
kind of player. Now, Jalen has continually gotten better, but
elite teammates elite teams. So we'll see Justin's getting another opportunity. Now,
we'll see. I don't think it's one where you can
say definitively he's going to be great in New York.
I don't think you can say definitively he's going through fail.
I think we're gonna find out what this person of

(32:25):
Justin Fields is.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
Yeah, I'm still I'm still have a little bit of
hope on him. Me and Rob talk about it all
the time. All right, thank you so much. We appreciate it,
Sean King, brother will do it again next week.

Speaker 12 (32:35):
Alright, fellas can't wait, all.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
Ron right Tom for Shekel City.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Let's do it, okay, two Shekel City. The whole base
for Rob Parker's day Dicks against the Scrap.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
How you doing all right last night? One and two
on the Shekel City? Well, I know one they let
you down. The Pistons did not let me down last night?
Did Caliberton hitting four point plays? And that's terrible. That's terrible.
But what are you doing?

Speaker 5 (34:24):
Come on, Giannis, you gotta be better than that. That's
just man, you know what I mean? Like that one
was crazy And to be honest, before that, you and
I were here, was right before we left. Joanna's getting
in the paint but passing it out and they were
up to.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
He was right at the basket. What are you passing
out for three? You have the he was gonna get fucked?
Oh four two? Free throw dropped by four? They can't
beat you.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
Yeah, I think he didn't want to have I think
it was that I don't want to shoot the free throw.
They were only up to with like twelve seconds. Lef's ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
He didn't want to free That pressures pikes. Rob Here
we go, don't forget.

Speaker 4 (34:56):
These are all on social media to the radio show
as always, thanks to Elijah Best Bet The Clippers plus
two and a half through in Miami taking on the Heat.

Speaker 5 (35:09):
Also got the Mavericks plus five and a half. They're
taking on the Spurs in San Antonio. And I got
the Philadelphia seventy six ers plus four and a half
and they're in Toronto taking on the Raptors. So I
got this is an underdog special, Okay, all right? So
I got seventy six ers plus four and a half,
Mavericks plus five and a half, and the Clippers plus

(35:31):
two and a half. And remember, Calvin, I'm not telling
you who to bet on. I'm telling you who I
bet on. All Right, we'll see how you do. Underdog special.
I'm at sixty five and sixty five five.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
I was in a hole. I was in a big hole.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
And that's the thing about Vegas right there. They don't
need they don't need to beat you badly. They just
need to beat you. Right, it's fifty one forty nine.

Speaker 3 (35:55):
I win. That's all they care about.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
Speaking of winning, man Vlackerrel Junior might be winning big
when it comes to the bank. You had some thoughts, Rob,
tell me you did this this kind of wan so tho.
A couple years back, Matt he turned down four hundred,
turned down four hundred and forty million. I thought he
was crazy, and he almost doubled that double.

Speaker 3 (36:14):
Bus seven sixties five almost three more.

Speaker 5 (36:18):
But I just think too many things can go wrong
in baseball, you know, like it's different because you could
get hit in the face and never be able to
hit again.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
Like seriously, you could be.

Speaker 5 (36:29):
No, because I'm always taking the extra I always got
to give you the extremes because it couldn't happen like
you could or you could just have two bad seasons
or better known.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
Why when you were like a kid, did you, like
fourteen fift did you stand on something to do backflips off?

Speaker 3 (36:43):
You never say it, but it couldn't happen. And here's
the other thing.

Speaker 5 (36:47):
So he got offered five hundred million dollars from the
Toronto Blue Jain. That's a hell of a contract. And
you know, baseball all guaranteed. It ain't change kids, kids,
He'll be pritting money off the interest. Okay, So first
I think the Blue Jays offered him four hundred. He
said five hundred. Then the Blue Jays said, we'll give

(37:08):
you five hundred, but we wanted defers some of the money.
Like Otani's got money is deferrals, right, okay, and you
gave you get interest with that like it it's been.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
It's beneficial.

Speaker 5 (37:21):
You know, Bobby Benie every year on his birthday, every
si million dollars. But do you know what the original
and he gets into twenty thirty five, the original amount
that the Mets owed him was like only five million,
and he's getting like he's gonna wind up making twenty
something million off that five million.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
That he got out to his agent was Scott who
was it at that time? I don't know who it
was him.

Speaker 5 (37:43):
But god, but you know what I'm saying, and I
don't know five hundred million. He's not want Soto as
good as Lad Junior is.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
He's not.

Speaker 5 (37:55):
Here's the thing, though, I think even you literally you said,
no wan So to take the four fifty, right. I'm
sure a lot of people say take forty four to forty.
Take the four to forty. Come on, now, this is crazy.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
But Vlad I was looking, I mean, look, he's still young.
He's only twenty five.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
Gave you I think it was thirty some home runs
last year, bat in about three zh three. I mean,
I think that's kind of the growing rate. And again,
he doesn't have to be one sodo, meaning seven sixty.
But if it ends up being five sixty, all I
gotta do is doing All I have to do is
be Vlad Junior. You get what I'm saying. Another year
being Vlad and the money's coming just simply based off

(38:33):
the fact of inflation. Yeah, but so he literally does
exactly this past season again just based off inflation, it
will go up at least another ten million, just based
off that, Like, all right, y'all going five, Now, y'all gotta
offer me five, ten, five fifteen.

Speaker 5 (38:46):
But what you don't remember, because he had such a
great year last year in the Bronx, is that when
wan Sota went, they said, oh.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
You know, I know, he struggled. He was an struggle bus.

Speaker 5 (38:57):
He was on a struggle bunch, and people are like
he made a big stake because it didn't look like
he was gonna get five hundred at that point because
he struggled.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
So it was there for a year and a half.

Speaker 5 (39:07):
Played Okay, I think he made one All Star Game,
but still not get.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
Looking great down there.

Speaker 5 (39:12):
I remember then he went to the Yankees in the
right short right field porch and he has this great
year and the Yankees go to the World Series. Everything
worked out and a blue Joseph wins that God will
do that for you.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
Lou J's aren't as good, and I don't know if
you go into.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
The World Series to be able to have that type show,
you got to have that.

Speaker 5 (39:30):
He hit the home run that put the Yankees in
the World Series against the Guardians. A lot of things
worked out for Juan. So though I don't think you
could bank on that, I think the team already has
shown you. Listen, you were dating and you're still dating
in these streets. She's already shown you the interest.

Speaker 3 (39:45):
You know.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
All you gotta do is keep being you, playing and
she gonna come back around with interest. He'll be all right,
he's gonna get five to fifty. Mark it down, five
fifty
