All right, so uh, so much to do, so little
time on this TV theme song Thursday.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Oh yeah, so uh.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
The Celtics find themselves in a precurious spot, dangerous spot.
You fall down. Oh two, you lose two games at home.
You know there's a lot there to twenty point blowout losses,
and of course the easiest thing to do the same.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
This is sports.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
We're always blame the biggest name, the biggest guy, and
we always praise the biggest name and the biggest guy,
no matter what the situation is. So now everybody in
their uncle thinks Jason Tatum can't play and he sucks,
and this is he thinks and all that other stuff.
Kelvin Washington, your.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
Thoughts, I think you're oversimplified, And I don't think people
think he sucks. I think people absolutely think he's one
of the best players. But there's always been a little
bit of apprehension and maybe giving him his just due
and maybe putting him where he probably believes he should be. Man,
I've went to the Eastern Conference finals a bunch of times.
I've been to a Championship of the finals. I got
(04:38):
there and I lost. But now I got there again
and I made it. And there's always been a little
bit of like apprehension with fully giving him maybe the
praise and credit he thinks he deserved. But this is
part of the reason why Rob you just mentioned it.
If he wants this is a compliment to him. This
is a compliment because if you're as if you're not
(04:59):
as good or as great as you think you are,
we wouldn't be having these conversations.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
It give you great example.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
James Harden is going to be going in the Hall
of Fame first ballot, one of the best players. But yes,
over the last five to ten years, we've all kind
of just thrown in a towel on him.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
When it comes to playoffs.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
We just have zero same player to the same guy.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
No, So what I'm saying is, Jason Tatum, it's a
compliment that we're still in this place where we have
hope for you, when we expect more from you, where
we think you're so good to great that we have
to nitpick at you. And one of the things we
can nitpick is and when it comes down to big moments,
when it comes down to the moments where we want
to see him take over, there have been times where
he has fallen short. And I guarantee you if he
(05:37):
was sitting here and it was the Trio Couple, the
Trio of Us, he would admit it and say the same.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
When you look at his performance over the.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Last couple of games, you are supposedly the best player
on your team. You're the man that's gonna happen if
Luka doncis performed as poor lyedis he has, and it
had been up twenty points twice, Rob not one bad game,
everybody has it. It happens two times and two games that better.
Your team was up twenty and you all faltered and
(06:05):
lost the game, and you tried to get the last
shot and you can't and you turn the ball over.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Yes, people are going to criticize him, and yes it's.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
About It's not about criticizing him. That's not the issue
or looking at the game. It's this unpacking of Jason Tatum.
Every time something goes wrong. He didn't take a million threes.
He took five threes yesterday they still missed.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
And when you look at that team last time.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
I was Brown the MVP of the finals last year?
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Was it Tatum? It was Brown, wasn't it?
Speaker 4 (06:40):
Where was he?
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Oh wait a minute, I'm just looking at was the
coaching up up to par?
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Was other guys invol My point was My point is people.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Want to undress him like he hasn't accomplished anything and
you can't trust him.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
No, rob It's the same way you like to undress
Lebron who has done forty five times things the more
than him, or Pat Mahomes who has done forty five
more things than him.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
He has gotten to.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
The noise I've I've never run dressed and said Patrick
Mahomes championship doesn't mean anything, or that Lebron's won the
four championships don't mean anything.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
I'm talking about.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
I'm talking about people happen like Jason Tatum.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Why you can't trust him? Can't trust him?
Speaker 2 (07:22):
He won a championship last year and guess what he
led his team.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
This is him at twenty.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Six, five time All Star, four time All NBA, three
time First Team first up in playoff points before turning
twenty seven first, not second, not third, before turning twenty second,
first in playoff win since being drafted, first in playoff
points since being drafted, and now an NBA champ. And
(07:50):
every time they fall behind or lose a game, it's
Jason Tatum.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Oh, Jason tayl jag why we can't trust him? Tell
you why?
Speaker 5 (08:01):
Ridiculously? Yes, it is ridiculous. Absolutely, it's it's dumb. I
promise you you've heard a lot dumber. It absolutely makes
sense because everything you just listed is exactly the reason
why people have high expectations for him, and they.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Don't mind the loss.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
You gets no reason, and there's no reason why nobody.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Every time they lose a game, they didn't even lose
the series yet, and people are.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
Undressing Jason Tatum. I hope you. I hope you're including
yourself and people because this is what you do. We
do that you don't get what they've done.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
I'm not gonna look at just Jason Tatum. You're gonna
look at resultics.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
And stop it.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Rob You do this all the time on the stars.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Of a team.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
Patrick Mahomes, Ain't this noo? Jason Tatum does not. He
has a deer in the head like look that is unavoidable.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Ain't talking about because the shot cup blocked.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
At the end of the game.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Did you see the basket that put the Celtics up
after he struggled all night?
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Did you see that?
Speaker 4 (09:10):
I saw? And what would you see that? Yeah? I
saw that. I didn't see that.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
Now let me continue Jason Tatum. One of the issues,
one of the things that I think would help him
is one of the things I heard LaMarcus Soldiers talk
about when he talked about having a conversation with Kobe Bryant.
Kobe Bryant said, a lot of you younger guys get
two or three moves that are your go to moves.
Jason Tatum is a spectacular player, but you can tell
sometimes when he needs a bucket, it's difficult for him
(09:37):
to get said bucket. He doesn't necessarily have that thing
that he identifies with this is my go to and
you saw it last night. Now again, he is an
absolutely great player, but he is not above reproach.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
He is not above nobody said. That's not what I said.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Talking about all the time is that they undress him
like he hasn't accomplished anything. I think that's what's unfair
is that nobody believed in them. Even last year when
they went through the playoffs. He wins a championship, they
lose two games.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
And now this is why, oh Jason dail.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
So ask your Jason, why did people believe in this?
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Because people do that for everybody until they win. My
point is he has won. It's just like you and
the Aaron Rodgers thing. People are undressing Aaron Rodgers every
chance they get. They ask like he never won, They
like he never was a four time MVP.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
Never. It's that's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
No, no, no, no, no, what I'm talking about.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
You choose, no, no, no, you choose to let certain
people off the hook. You want to let off the
hook Aaron Rodgers. The reason why people bring since you
want to bring up Aaron.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
Rodgers is because for all the greatness and talent that
he has, he is not won enough playing and simple.
For all the greatness that Aaron Rodgers in amazing, He's
the most great and I agree, one of the best
arm talents we's ever seen, one of the best. Well
then why, after all these years to compare to his
peers does he only have one Super Bowl at title?
Speaker 4 (11:06):
And that's a very fair and valid question, easy or concern?
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Yeah, And the defenses that Aaron Rodgers played with, don't
even let it go.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
Did we talk about it all the time?
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Tom Brady never won without a top five defense. Go
show me the year Aaron Rodgers had a top five
defense at all. Tow me the draft that they drafted
skill positions in the first round during his career in
Green Bank.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
I can go on and on.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
I'm not excuses exes, and my only time it is
stop with the Jason Tatum stinks because I'm saying that's
where a lot of people today woke up and that
was their easy place to go rather than taking a
look at the coach the other players who missshots. He
didn't put up thirteen shots and go oh for thirteen
(11:49):
for three.
Speaker 5 (11:50):
And he only had rob Let me say this another
thing I think you're missing. It's not about misshots literally,
Michael Jordan, Larry bird leronja Is, Kobe Bryant. It doesn't
matter the person is misshots. What people want to see
and feel is that you're all in, that you're diving
on the floor. If that's what it takes today, the
shot ain't falling. I'm seven for twenty two in Game
(12:11):
seven in the finals, Kobe Bryant, let me go snatch
twenty two rebounds, let me go lock somebody up, let
me push somebody on the floor and tell my team
let's go, you know, And it's and it's those types.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Of things that that's what you're saying. But the bottom
line is it's all about winning. Because if he made
that shot yesterday, okay, instead of having it blocked at
the end, you wouldn't be bringing that up totally.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
You wouldn't be, No, it would It would be about winning.
It's about winning and moving on.
Speaker 5 (12:40):
It is not about winning when you're talking about greatness
and the differentiators between greatness, right about winning.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
It's about winning, winning, cob up everything.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
No, that's not true. When you're talking about nobody.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Nobody says Kobe can't play because he didn't make the
playoffs his last six years. Nobody says Kobe can't play
when he quit on the team against the Sons.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Nobody man.
Speaker 5 (13:03):
And we absolutely criticized him about that. That's exactly my point.
We criticized about that, Yo, Kobe. That was childish Kobe.
You're better than that, Kobe. You're supposed to be the
veteran on his team. Why would people.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Say he's the golden he quit on his team?
Speaker 5 (13:16):
Nobody ever, He says that, absolutely, just like people should.
And I'm Lebron's biggest fan, you know that, and it
absolutely should criticize Lebron about how he showed up against
the final boy mass, it happens. And for Jason Tatum
to be the best player on that team, he who
has quoted himself as wanting to be a Finals MVP,
these are the types of games he has to win.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Last year he let in every category and didn't get
the MVP.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
I got it right last year and every category for
his team, every one, Well.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Then Lebron should be the Finals MVP of the year.
Twenty fifteen. They lost. If we're going by that just
by leading stats.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Nobody who loses. I'm sorry, that goes back to my seventies.
It's never happened. That's not for lou I said that
goes back to the seventies.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Nobody does that.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
And my point is, if we're going by just.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
He won last year and lead in every caddy, Dad.
Speaker 5 (14:03):
And you're and nobody's could literally can't debate that. But
if he wants to be in the pantheons of where
he is trying to get you, then these are the
types of conversations that he needs to have be had,
and these are the types of uh issues people can
have with him. If you're starting to get to the
great list, we have to nitpick at you, Steph Curry
lebron kd This is what happens.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. It's a spicy
TV theme song to yeah here on the Odd Couple.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
I'm not messing around, that's right.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Does Jason Tatum deserve the slander he's getting from people
like Kelvin Washington and others and sammis and you want
to make you question his legacy as a whole. We'll
continue that conversation next with you. It is the Odd
Couple on a TV theme song Thursday, Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington,
right here on TV, right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Stick and stay unless you're like Tatum, I was gonna say,
nless you're arguing about the Celtics and the Knicks in
the US.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Of a be sure to catch live editions of The
Odd Couple with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at
seven pm Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
Fox Sports Radio. It's The Odd Couple, Rob Parker, Kelvin.
Speaker 5 (15:18):
Washington on a TV themes On Thursday, we got Jake
Crawford getting ready to join us here in a little bit,
talk some hoops with him, catch up old time sakes.
I'm sure him and Rob we'll be talking about some
old time on first take?
Speaker 4 (15:33):
Was it cold pizza? Two days? Were you there?
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Yeah? I th thought it would have been cold pizza
back in the day.
Speaker 5 (15:38):
Yeah, So we'll check in with him in just a
little bit right now. Taking calls on Jason Tatum. The
Celtics are down two in this series to the Knicks,
which has been just so crazy one to watch so far.
What's going on with Jason Tatum? What's going on with
the Celtics? Are you blaming him? Is it just a game?
Speaker 4 (15:55):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox Taking calls?
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Who we got Hey, Chili Tim in Atlanta on The
Odd Couple of Fox Sports Radio. Man, I missed you
with all that rain Man. I came the worst weekend
of the year in Atlanta.
Speaker 6 (16:07):
Yeah, Rob, you brought it with you, I believe.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Man, Hey, but I'm gonna be there for the All
Star Game. We're gonna meet before.
Speaker 6 (16:14):
Okay, Yeah, I'll definitely be there. I didn't even go
Saturday because it was so bad.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
I didn't I didn't either.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
I wind up not going because of the forecast was
so bad.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
But all gasts.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
But Rob, you almost made me spit my dinner out.
Say did you see the shot that he made to
put them ahead. I was like, didn't know what we were.
Speaker 7 (16:31):
Talking about with Steth Cary.
Speaker 6 (16:32):
I was like, you can say that, but but anyway,
my thing with Jason Tatum is I'm facing Jason Tatum
on what he said. He said he wanted to be.
Speaker 7 (16:42):
The face of the league.
Speaker 6 (16:43):
He wanted to be the best player. So I got
to take you on what you say you want to
be and I go from that. And the other thing
I would say to Jason Tatum is like, because I
think I saw a stat where they missed forty eight
wide open three points. They just missed it. They were
wide open, and I was just not hitting and go
drive to the basket. Make them call a foul. How
(17:04):
many times did we get tired of see Dwayne Wade
go to the UH to the free throw?
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Yeah, but there was a conspiracy that finals.
Speaker 6 (17:11):
But I'm just saying, like, make them if the SHOT's
not not hitting, he's six ten, you can pretty much
full over anybody just driving.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
But Tim, here here's my issue.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
It's not that you can't look at what happened and
talk about that, but what everybody does every time they
lose a game is they want to undress his career,
and I think that's what's unfair. And my point is
that they haven't even lost a series. Do you know
what I'm saying? Yes, was that ugly? Was that terrible? Absolutely?
(17:41):
The series is you got to win four games, that's all.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
Those were two bad ones.
Speaker 5 (17:46):
I totally feel you if it was one just an
off game, Like everybody has that, two horrible comebacks they
let happen and they look bad in the process.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
Rob.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
That's why Ken in Ohio, you're on the couple of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
What's up? Ken?
Speaker 8 (18:00):
Hey, what's up? Fellas up? I love your show, Thank you, Jim.
I don't Rob, I'm with you on this about Jason Tatum.
You know, I think it's unfair to dude that he's
getting undressed like this because I compare him.
Speaker 7 (18:13):
To uh YOKERU the Joker.
Speaker 8 (18:16):
I compare him to Yannis, and I compare him the
Dirt and the busy. Each of them only won one yes, yep,
and nobody has dressed him, undressed him like that.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
How about Luca who hasn't won anything and they just
got knocked out a gentleman's sweep, and people don't undress
Luca's entire career. They're, oh, well, you know, they just
got together, they already played fourteen game together. Oh you know,
next year he'll be in lebron shape. They don't do
that to Luca. What did they do?
Speaker 1 (18:45):
What is he done?
Speaker 8 (18:46):
And Jalen Brown won the same championship last year and
they're not talking about him the same way.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
They're talking about exactly and he was the finals MVP.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
Jaylen get some of his work too.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
He ain't getting to work that Tatum. That's all I'm saying.
Thanks for the call.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
You a better player, Appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
Trey in Texas, you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, Tray, what's up, y'all, y'all doing tray.
Speaker 7 (19:12):
Hey, man, I agree with you on soda stuff, but.
Speaker 8 (19:18):
Come on, man, Rob, you're right about it.
Speaker 6 (19:20):
Man.
Speaker 8 (19:21):
I mean they criticizing the Royds.
Speaker 6 (19:23):
As well as Tatum.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
Man, they need to give him a break.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
It's just it's just it's just over and over.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
It's like you wanna you want to act like nothing happened,
Like if if Jason Tatum hadn't won a championship and
this was another and they and they lost and this
was that was game four and they got swept or whatever.
You want to undress them at that point and say,
look at what happened.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
I'm buying it. But they haven't even lost this series yet.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
And it's like, oh, that's why you can't run.
Speaker 4 (19:55):
Rob, g do me a favorite, Alex.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
I want you to hold this tape so and Rob
at somebody in the exact same similar instances, but another person.
I'm gonna say, roll to Tate. That's what I want
Alex to Rodan. That's why he's smiling right now, you.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Know, right's smiling.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
I'm smiling because a pretty woman just walked by and
I'm just so well.
Speaker 5 (20:12):
All right, okay, I ain't mad at that. All right,
thank you for all the calls. We appreciate that. Again,
we have a got Jay Crawf for getting ready to
join us at the moment. Talk some hoops with him
right now.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
Yeah, six hundred dollars for the cheapest ticket as far
as resale as you're the highest and yeah, you know, no, no,
what was that the highest part?
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Yeah, the highest, the highest. Take a guess what do
you think it is?
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Ten thousand, keep going, twelve thousand, keep going, go away higher.
People gonna pay twenty thousand dollars for basketball.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
Double that stupid more stupid?
Speaker 4 (21:06):
Four is crazy.
Speaker 5 (21:06):
Maybe Jame's got your money, go ahead, Maybe j has
got that kind of money. It's the odd cup of
Robin Kelvin on a TV theme song Thursday, joined now
by Jay Crawford w k y C TV NBC in Cleveland.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
And of course robbing him.
Speaker 5 (21:20):
Go back to the Cole Pizza Pizza jad og.
Speaker 7 (21:25):
Robs the og. Hey, I just dug out that much
from my sofa cushions, and I bought. I bought three
tickets for all of us.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
That's right, we're in the building, crazy crazy, hey a
j we we gotta start here. I mean that loss
by the Cows was as bad as it gets.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
I just where do we start?
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Can't get the ball in bounds, throws it to the
other team. I know they were down three players. What
an effort it was to even get to that point.
How devastating was that? And then for Halliburton, you know
he like he missed on purpose, got the get reowly
bound and then barries the three. What does that rank
(22:08):
in Cleveland history as far as bad losses.
Speaker 7 (22:12):
Well, it's not the drive or the fumble, or even
the ninety seven or twenty sixteen World Series, because all
of those losses had finality to them, right, like that
was it? You know, pack your bags, the season's over.
You know, look, it's not over. I know that only
six percent of the teams that have been down oh
(22:32):
two come back to win, or seven percent of the teams.
And I think there's only been six teams ever to
be down oh two at home and come back to win.
But we just saw it happen with Denver, so we
know it's possible. So it's not in the in the pantheon.
It's below all of those, to be sure. But Rob,
you touched on it. It was probably the most deflating
(22:55):
fifty seconds of clock time right Cleveland sports fans have
ever experienced. And the reason I say that it wasn't
just one thing. The last fifty seconds they were outscored
eight to zero. They didn't do anything right go back
and rewatch the last fifty seconds. They didn't box out,
(23:15):
they could inbound the basketball without calling time out, they
didn't get a shot off in the last fifty seconds.
It's almost unthinkable to have all of those things happened.
Indiana was shocked, like they were shocked when they pulled
it off. And this is a team that's known for
great comeback wins. But I'm pretty sure that when they
(23:38):
got in the in the locker room, they looked at
each other and said, oh my god, what just happened.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
I'll tell you this joy.
Speaker 7 (23:46):
That's what we were saying in Cleveland too.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Kelvin and I watching it as we're doing the show,
and you know, with the uniforms on right, we're like
the past. That the inbounce pass that was thrown to
uh Indian, we both looked and thought it was thrown to.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
To a cavalier because it was right to them. Do
you know what I am?
Speaker 7 (24:09):
I right?
Speaker 1 (24:10):
We both looked all.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Right, the cavaliers at the ball and we looked life,
wait a minute, like it didn't make any sense.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
The ball went right to the pacer player.
Speaker 7 (24:20):
It was. It was stunning. Now all of that is
bad enough, but then the NBA comes out in its
final two minute report and mentions that they blew two
of those calls. Now I know that you don't. You
don't see that called right, and and you could make
the argument that, well, you're certainly not going to call
it in that situation. But here's what the NBA has created.
(24:42):
And I've never ever, ever, ever understood this, Rob. I
know you're a baseball guy. It's similar to the strike
zone in baseball. Don't put in the rule book that
the strike zone is the armpits to the knees. If
you're called the strike zone just above the belt to
the knees. But setting yourself up for instances like this
(25:04):
where the entire city of Cleveland is now looking at
the NBA in complete disbelief. You know, at the time
that play happened, in real time, I was facetiming with
my son Corey, who was watching from New York. At
the time of the play. I'm screaming, Oh, that's a
lane violation. That's going to be overturned. Don't worry, that's
a lane violation. And the whole time they were looking
(25:25):
at it, I'm like, well, certainly they're going to figure
out that that is a lane violation and they have
to call it there. I know, you know, if it's
not a rule, that.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Take it out of the rule, right, right, And I just.
Speaker 7 (25:37):
I've never understood that. There's a lot of things I
don't understand about the NBA, but I really have never
understood that. So now you've got that on top of
the fact that you know, everybody, including the coach, had
major brain farts that led to really, I know, it's
not the most punitive defeating Cleveland sports history, but it's
one of the most unbelievable, perplexing, and really an accumulation
(26:03):
of absolute incompetence and I'll tell you, I believe what
happened in watching the game was. The analogy I'll make
is I felt like I was watching, and I'm not
a race fan, but I felt like I was watching
the car race and one of the cars was two
laps ahead of everybody else, and the whole time I'm
(26:25):
watching the last couple of laughs, I'm realizing that this
car is losing power and the broadcasters are saying, Oh,
it's going to be a fuel issue. He's trying to
conserve fuel. He's way off the gas. Because I'm watching this,
I'm watching the field catch up, and I'm watching them
catch up. And then just before the winning car, the
car that was leading the entire race crosses the finish line,
(26:47):
it runs out of gas. And in this analogy, the
car is Donovan Mitchell, who got tired with a minute
to go from carrying his four teammates for forty seven no.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Doubt, what do you? Forty six point? He was outslaged out.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
May you, Jay, You led me to where I wanted
to ask you again, Jay Crawford wk YC TV NBC
in Cleveland on with the OK couple. We already know
Donovan's a little banged up, probably more than he's letting on.
Speaker 4 (27:14):
You're down a few of your other stars.
Speaker 5 (27:17):
How I mean, that was such a game you had
to win, especially when he drops almost fifty on him
and now he's still banged up.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
Other guys are injured.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
Do you think this he has a makeup to pull
to be able to turn this thing around and still
win it even though they're so banged up.
Speaker 7 (27:33):
Yeah, I'm not going to completely discount the possibility that
the Cavs do come back and win the series. They're
still favor there. I think it's going to have a
point favorite tomorrow night. You've gotta at this at this point, guys,
and you know that you've got to do it one
quarter at a time, one game at a time. Win
Tomorrow night, get the game four, and then if you
(27:55):
somehow find a way to do that, and I know
that it's against all odds, but they'll probably be favored
in both games, so it's not that much of a
long shot. If you can do that and you can
win both those games, no harm, no found. You know,
the thing is, the series doesn't begin until a road
team wins. Well, in this case, maybe the series doesn't
(28:16):
begin until a home team wins.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Maybe it might be we'll see hey, Jay last thing,
and we just want to please the Chador Sanders just
I don't understand how the Browns passed on them four
or five eight times they finally picked him, and I
know he's selling jerseys and all that kind of stuff.
Are fans happy they want him to be the starting quarterback?
(28:40):
Where what does Cleveland react to Shador Sanders?
Speaker 7 (28:43):
Well, I won't I won't profess to believe I have
the finger on the pulse of all Browns fans, right,
but I can tell you, like just about every other
issue Cleveland quarterback related maybe for the last seven eight years,
going back to Baker Mayfield, for sure, the fan base
is split, and and that split in the fan base
(29:06):
creates all kinds of issues for the for the organization
because if you remember going back to the Baker Mayfield situation,
it almost became the situation where half the locker room
wanted Baker, half the locker room wanted Baker gone. It
really kind of became an issue of OBJ because remember
(29:28):
Odell Beckham's dad put together a highlight reel of Baker
missing his son wide open one play after another.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
Thought, I thought the Brows made a mistake with Baker.
Speaker 7 (29:39):
Well, I did too, and I said too at the
time too, And you know, and I also was screaming
from the mountaintops that I hated the Deshaun Watson move.
I was the only one on the Ultimate Cleveland Sports
Show on our panel, which Brotase, We've got about five
or six different guys to join us.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
All and everybody else loved the move, right, everybody loved it.
Speaker 7 (29:56):
They were buying playoff tickets. They were saying, finally were
out of quarterback purgatory. We found our guy all as well.
You know, he's going to lead us to multiple Super Bowls.
And the whole time, I'm saying this is going to
destroy the team. Not only is it going to destroy
the team, it's going to set the franchise back six
to ten years because you can't go. It's one thing
(30:17):
that you begave somebody the highest guaranteed contract in the
history of the league. That's one thing. If he delivers,
you don't even think about the money. But not only
did he not deliver, guys, he was awful. And you
go three straight years without having a first round draft pick,
and that's you, guys, know that's you know.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
In football, you got it.
Speaker 7 (30:38):
You gotta have the draft picks. That's how you build
your team, and and and and by the way, all
while they have no first round draft picks, they're drafting
wide receivers in the third round by the name of
Anthony Schwartz, who didn't see it through the end of
this first contract. David Bell was the third round wide receiver.
There were multiple misses in the other rounds. So it
(30:59):
really is a stunning collapse of a franchise that remember, guys,
you know when I say they weren't far away, people
forget they had the Kansas City Chiefs in a fourth
and twenty two situation or whatever it was, in the
fourth quarter of the AFC Divisional rounds. They win that
game and they advanced to the AFC Championship game. This
(31:22):
team was not far away, and now that seems like
decades ago, no doubt. Answer your question, Rob before we go.
The fan base is split. Obviously, there is a huge
portion of people that love that they got Shador Sanders.
Then there's another group of fans that weren't necessarily in
the Sanders camp, but when he slipped so far, you're like,
this is unbelievable value. Take him. And then there's another
(31:45):
group that heard all of the stories pre draft. They
don't want more drama in the quarterback room and they
think this is a huge mistake. You know what, here's
the beauty of sports. We'll find out. We'll find out
relatively quickly.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
We sure will shaate your time, j always man, we
could talk to you for two hours, my man.
Speaker 1 (32:04):

We go one and two last night?
Speaker 4 (34:02):
Come on, No.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
One and two last night?
Speaker 2 (34:05):
One twenty two and one twenty three is the number
so one game.
Speaker 5 (34:10):
On the fact that sounds like one of these NBA
postseason games scores, we'll put to keep being at the buzzer.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
All right tonight, best bet.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
I'm taking the Timberwolves minus ten and a half at
home against Golden State without Steph Curry.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
They lose this game. I mean, I don't know what
else to say.
Speaker 4 (34:27):
Yeah, I'm with you on that. They better show it big.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
I'm gonna take the Angels plus one and a half runs.
They're hosting the Blue Jays in Anaheim. Angels desperately need
a win. I say they get it by two runs
or more. And they got the Diamondbacks, Yes they do
plus one and a half runs. They're hosting the Dodgers
in the Desert. So the Diamondbacks plus one and a half,
Angels plus one and a half, and the Timberwolves minus
(34:51):
ten and a half. And remember Calvin, what's that I'm
not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you
who I bet on.
Speaker 5 (34:59):
Man, it is just due and been scuffling for quite
some time. Rob, It's is hard to believe.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
You told you good to have a good fan base,
told you that higher tendants than the New York message.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
That's a great point, you know. And you and I
remember I brought up that you and I went to
a game.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
It's a fun place to go to, the place of
nice man.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
You can get some great deals.
Speaker 5 (35:20):
And we actually had a I did a whole thing
on the LA Time show that I do about how
they did the pricing of games, breaking down a Dodger
game because of the success they've had over the last
few years and then of course winning now a couple
of times in the last forty years or so. And
they talked about it used to be an average price
of I think it was like, you know, forty bucks
for a ticket or something. Now it's up to like
(35:41):
one hundred and something for an average price of a ticket,
and to bring a family of four costs like four
hundred and something dollars, and how baseball had always been
the kind of you know this just hey, you know,
I want to take the kids or something. You can
go get some cheap tickets to a ballpark, go watch
a game.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
It's still cheaping than any other sport.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
You can't take You aren't even taking a kid to
the to an NFL old game on NBA.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
Get told you it's your family vacation, family vacation to.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
Like can you imagine taking an eight year old pay
four hundred dollars from basketball game?
Speaker 4 (36:08):
You better, little Johnny, better remember this for the rest exactly.
You better. Hey, daddy, did ever you know your dad
gonna right? You went to matter of fact, get the
photo album, little Johnny?
Speaker 1 (36:17):
What your leg is broke or something? That gotta be something?
Speaker 4 (36:21):
No, But the reason I brought it up because the
Angels they are the contrary.
Speaker 5 (36:24):
They still have family tickets for uh you know you
can still catch them from time to time for four tickets,
four hot dogs, for sodas and for forty four bucks.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
You can't beat that for a night out.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
That night out.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
Kids don't really, you know, they're not overly like all
the team is the best. They just want to get out,
have a great time. And you know Rob g knows
about that. When you got kids, just like man, we
let's looking for something to do. So the angel still provide.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
Or somebody you know, might have a suite like empty
and just instead of inviting everybody, they just take his
wife and three kids and have an empty suite where
rob G and his family could have been there.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
I could have been there with.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
A here's a hotty, I couldn't, you know, like trying
to get a call, Iowa, Sam could have been there.
Speaker 5 (37:03):
Actually, everybody could have here since you called me out.
The game was at six. I got the call at
four fifteen, Okay, it was, and I was and I
was at the pool butt necking in the pool with
my family. Had I had to scurry, But we're gonna
get in there, Robbie, I'm gonna get us in there.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
Robgi, I'm sorry, Robzi
