What's happening?

Speaker 2 (02:13):
How are you?

Speaker 1 (02:13):
I feel like I haven't seen you in so long,
even though I just saw you all over the weekend.

Speaker 5 (02:17):
Right in Cleveland, Ohio.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Yeah, good, good time out there in Cleveland, man.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Obviously the convention I heard you talking about a little
bit yesterday, so folks are aware of it. But good

tell you, I don't know if it's I don't know
if it's why why we don't know?

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Why don't we know?

Speaker 5 (02:37):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
I think it's for Gazy because Chris bussaw it, officiated it,
and I'm not sure.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
If he was is the man ordained?

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Is he ordained or not? In California? But apparently he
says he is.

Speaker 6 (02:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Well, that's a good question. I meant with him, you
never know. It could be Pennsylvania, it could be Indiana,
it could be Ohio, it could be New York. He
claims everywhere, so I don't know, it could be anywhere
with him, but look good. He even got on there
and sounded like Adam Sander on the guitar, Martin, that'saw
his post on that.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
Yeah, that was very nice, very very nice. He'd been practicing,
you know. He kept bringing in the guitar and he told.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
It Terrence Howard from the Best Man.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
And they asked him to play it again or we
are encore, and he was smart to say, no.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
I'm not.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
I'm not gonna even go there again because it's not
gonna work. And choice, yes, don't forget it is a
trash talking Tuesday. Your chance to trash anyone anything in
the world of sports.

Speaker 5 (03:34):
We will not stop.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
You give you thirty or forty seconds. And here's the
big thing. When you call up, you know, we don't
want to have feedback on the radio.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
So remember this, except for one thing.

Speaker 6 (03:46):
You forgot to turn down the radio.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Make sure you turn down the radio so that we
can hear you.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
You see me looking at you right now.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
Thank you, Perry Mason.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
What what episode did you even know that was from?

Speaker 1 (03:58):
You probably know the episode, the writer, the executive producer.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
I found it in Alex.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Right, Alex, I knew forever it did for us to
find it what episode, exactly where it was.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
But I was like, that fits? Can I hear to
get with that?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Why? Alex looked a little older, that.

Speaker 7 (04:14):
We should do ones gotta go? How does nobody in
this building have an Amazon Prime? I know because we
had to get you call me. I don't know you
weren't around. But what but Raymond Burr, come on, he
sounds except.

Speaker 6 (04:25):
For one thing. You forgot to turn down the radio.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
That's right, don't forget to turn down the radio when
you call in on the trash Talking Tuesday. All right,

be able to do this fine radio program without them.
And uh, Rob g is our producer as always, Alex
is our engineer, Steve the Seger is at the anchor

(04:53):

like almost four thousand. Everybody else says like three hundred.
Already doing it? Real talk correct me if I'm wrong,
Rob G.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
You so right?

Speaker 6 (06:14):
Left? There you go?

Speaker 2 (06:15):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (06:16):
Well, we loved that fresh start. We're good to go.
What are you counting over there? What's that? What are
you counting over there? Left?

Speaker 2 (06:24):
I know I ain't got nothing else.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Between all these trips to Magic City and then hanging out,
hanging out, in Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
You ain't got no more money.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Hey, you know what they already know. All those youngins
got me drinking and carrying on. It was a mess.
I just I fell off the boy.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
You were so excited, and that's the reason why you
needed me there yesterday to tell them how excited you were.
Every time I saw him, y'all, he was flexing. Look,
they didn't know what it was, Dub. I know, you know,
Dub this a Gucci shirt. I'm like, you know, I
know no, because they were trying to rob G. They
were giving me a hard time with the shirt that
I had on. Yeah, you got to know to know,
I knew it was I said it, didn't I say it?

(07:00):
So that's who that's Guccie, right, you know I knew.
And then he is in the club. I got some pictures,
send me some pictures.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
I was.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
I was in the the DJ booth and the VIP.
It was a lot of But all right, let's let's
get started, Rob guh. There was a false alarm, actually
a false report today. Oh I'm sorry, we're not going
there first. What am I thinking? Okay, we're going to
Caleb Williams, go ahead, Rob G. The reports Uh, just
keep coming in from Chicago about Caleb.

Speaker 8 (07:28):
Yeah, nobody seems to be a fan of the former
number one what would you call him? The generational prospect
that is Caleb Williams. First, we had the Athletic tier
come out yesterday and he was ranked of the Tier
three quarterback. Something met him in the Tier four quarterback,
which says a lot, But all of the criticism basically
said some variation.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
Of the same thing.

Speaker 8 (07:49):
You had an anonymous defensive coordinator says quote, in terms
of processing ability and getting the ball at his hands.
It was the worst we played against. Anonymous head coach
says quote. His sessing to me was alarming watching the
tape and in fact, if you don't believe these anonymous
gms and coaches, former All Pro left tackle to Ron
Armstead was at the joint practice between the Dolphins and

(08:12):
the Bears last week. Said yes, because he retired and
he put his name on it.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
Take a listen.

Speaker 9 (08:18):
Caleb's process playing that quarterback position has to improve fast,
and pretty fast. In my opinion, on a consistent basis,
Caleb was not able to recognize where he was in danger.
He wasn't feeling pressure, he wasn't feeling blitzes. He wasn't
seeing blitzes and threats. Pre singaput, Anthony Weaver, the Dolphins

(08:43):
defensive coordinator, was able to send guys from all different
spots on the field and man, a lot of those
got home. A lot of those would have been sacks.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
All Right, I'm just gonna say it. I'm gonna say
I'll say the quiet part out loud. This is just
anti Caleb Williams. They've never really liked Caleb Williams from
this standpoint of he paints his nails.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
He cried towards mom in the stands. He's a different
kind of guy. Wanted a piece of the Bears. He
didn't want to go to all the other stuff that
came out. And there are a lot of people who
just don't like the guy. Last year, he had a
fine rookie season. And it's funny other people get a
chance to develop and get better. Peyton Manning threw thirty

(09:31):
interceptions his first year. Nobody threw the toweling on him.
Nobody said he holds the ball too long, or he
doesn't know what he's doing with it, or he can't
reed defenses. They allowed him to progress. And last year Kelvin,
they were at least three games where he marched his
team down, gave them the go ahead touchdown, and then

(09:52):
the defense gave it back up.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
You remember, including that Hail Mary to Washington.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
You remember that game he had actually taken his team
down and they scored a touchdown to go up in front,
and he had one of his dbs or safeties who
was flexing to the crowd when the Hail Mary came in.

Speaker 5 (10:08):
And I'm not saying he's a finished product.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
Or he's gonna be the best quarterback in the league
or whatever.

Speaker 5 (10:15):
I just the noise to me with a new coach.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
And a new coordinator and people gonna give Justin Fields
eight chances, right, He's three teams and three oh yeah,
look at Justin Fields and here he is. He had
twenty touchdowns, six picks, and too many sacks.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
And they need to protect him better. He needs to
be more aware.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
I'm not saying that he doesn't need to make some changes,
but this fire Alarmer on Caleb Williams, I think is
just I think it's personal, to be honest.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
I'm addressed that personal a minute.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
And Rob G you're saying they're not a fan of him.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
I think the term is concerned.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
So Rob, this is gonna happen when you're the top
prospect since Andrew Luck. You're the surance and you're the
one everybody says that's the guy that can miss. You're
the number one pick, you're a Heisman Trophy winner, and
these things, these conversations are gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
And I think he's getting some of that.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
He's getting some smoke or some added extra sauce that
people felt they should have been given to Trevor Lawrence.
So I think he's getting some wh I should have
been on Trevor Lawrence a little harder. Let me make
sure I'm on Kayleb Williams a little hard. But all
of this comes with when you're the number one pick,
the Heisman Trophy winner, and now let's add to it.
You do have to add context. If the same thing
that has been a concern for him coming out of

(11:33):
college into his rookie campaign, into his training camp this year.
Mind you, he's got Ben Johnson, the offensive guru. This
is why people are ringing the alarm and they're saying, hey, hey,
something they looking right. When you have to have your
first teamers pulled off the field early. Just something we
hardly ever hear happens because he wasn't getting them out

(11:54):
of huddle. He's been We've been hearing more and more
of reports about he can't break the huddle. Fast en up,
they got a burn timeouts, they're getting flags up.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
From a delay of games.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
These are concerns now we heard about him, But because
he was Superman of the worldly, he was able to
escape these things. He was able to make plays happen.
You look at the interceptions, they're low. Yeah, because he
ate a bunch of sacks. That's why you don't want
to go to the ball up for grabs. What do
you but he has he has a little Andrew Rodgers
itis and that he doesn't want to turn it over.

(12:24):
He's trying to make too many plays. Aaron Rodgers was
able to do that to the tune of success. That's
why he's going to be a first ballot Hall of Famer.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Caleb.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
The jury is still out, so Caleb Williams has to
process faster. We're hearing it from too many sources, from
his own Dagone team, in his own his own coach.
He's got to be better at getting the ball out faster.
He can no longer just rely on his talent that
has gotten them this far. And that is a fair
thing to say of a guy who we expect the
world from Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
We had these concerns about Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Lamar Jackson came right in after a couple of years
his Now you and I talked about this last week
or so. Now he's one of the best passers in
the NBA, gets the ball out, doesn't get sack.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
In the NFL.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
I'm sorry, it has the most passes down the field
and yards per pass well, but that's because.

Speaker 5 (13:11):
That's the lesson.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
That's the lesson is you can't pass judgment on people
so quickly. But you give Justin Herbert and he's a
top five quarterback.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
For whatever reason.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
It's okay Justin Herbert or or who do or Lawrence
down in Jacksonville. No one's crying, oh my god, he
got the big contract. He's all this, He got you know,
a contract and all that.

Speaker 5 (13:36):
My point is.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
There is a little extra sauce because he's not conventional.
He's not the guy that that maybe people you know
what I mean, want to rally around because he's different
a little bit, and I'm saying that that factors in.
That's all I'm saying. He's not above criticism. That's not
what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
I think he gets extra for some other stuff.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
I think he gets extra because the same problem problem
has applied for the same few years, from college to
his first campaign and then this training camp.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
You're supposed to.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Be better by now, and I think why it's But
you're saying it's personal, and I don't see how you
don't you think it's personal? What should do when this
dude is the number one pick a Heisman winner.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Of course it's gonna be for people.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
What's the personal What I'm saying is, I'm saying it's
if it's for Caleb. To me, it's warranted. He's supposed
to be that guy. This is supposed to be the all.

Speaker 5 (14:29):
What a new coach and a new col everything new
from last year.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
I just yes, because you can't go five for seventeen
with three interceptions and a family fest last week.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
You can't do that. It is a layup. This is
just a promo for the fans.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
That's that's nothing. That none of these games matter. The
Lions win four to o and then Owen sixteen in
the season.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
Nobody said you can't look horrible. You can't go five
for seventeen three.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
You think people don't have bad You think you think
great players haven't had bad training camp game, I mean
preseason games.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
What you're saying, this.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Wasn't even a game. He didn't even play in the game.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
Of course you shouldn't play. He should play.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
He didn't even play in the game.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Rob, these are shorts and T shirts, and he's out
here looking like me if I went to go be
a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
That's so.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
I just think it's overblown, all right. You you think
it's warranted. I think it's over.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Nobody's saying he's about to be the worst play, But
it's warranted. He deserves some concern and criticism, and I
just think.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
They need somebody to be a whipping boy, and he
just happens to be that guy.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
All right?

Speaker 4 (15:28):
That sound like sord E's seven seven ninety nine on
Fox is the anti Caleb Williams sentiment personal or professional?

Rob and I are talking about is it is it
haterism a little bit?

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Is it professional to criticize Caleb? I say, is professional?

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Rob doesn't agree eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
Who we got?

Speaker 6 (17:40):
Is that?

Speaker 4 (17:40):
Is that Kai Kai in Florida. You're in the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (17:46):
What's up?

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Kai?

Speaker 6 (17:47):
What's going on? I love the show.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
I just wanted to say that, just like thank you
I appreciate you, thank you.

Speaker 6 (17:52):
Yes, sir, it is not personal at all. We've watched
the case. We've seen him visibly frustrated at break.

Speaker 12 (18:00):
If you ask me, door standards, looks like he can
start over.

Speaker 5 (18:04):
Kawill, Okay, right, here we go. This is okay, here
we go.

Speaker 12 (18:08):
You're running to his aide saying that it's not personally.
You know, they're not giving them a room to grow.

Speaker 6 (18:15):
But we're talking about the top five college quarterback. There's
a fourth on the street.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
No, he wasn't that. No, he was a fifth round pick. No,
he didn't beat anybody in college. He didn't beat anybody
in college. Stop it with the shut door, love, stop it.
If he was good enough, the Browns, you know what
they would do, They would make him the quarterback, just
like they made Russell Woods better the quarterback, the quarterback, quarterback.

(18:42):
Stop they better make him the quarters. Why he moved
up in the depth chart off of the first game, right, well.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
No you didn't. You knew already had him up the
depth chart way before that.

Speaker 5 (18:50):
You know that with me, when he gets cut, you
better not come on this show that day.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
It's the Browns. What if the Browns done they better
go whatever they think they should do. The opposite.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
Drew in New Jersey, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
What's up, Drew?

Speaker 13 (19:05):
I think it's fair. However, I do still see upside.
I think he's coming into I think he's the ones
in a lifetime talent. I kind of thought he was
like a Russell Wilson high end type player, but I
definitely think he'd definitely be the best quarterback with pink
nails still up there.

Speaker 5 (19:24):
Yeah, there you go. All right, that does factor and appreciated, Drew.
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
Casey in Oregon, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (19:33):
What's up Casey?

Speaker 12 (19:35):
Hey, welcome back guys, thanks for checking out.

Speaker 5 (19:37):
Yes, thank you, buddy.

Speaker 6 (19:39):
Appreciate this looks.

Speaker 12 (19:40):
This is looking like it's headed towards a disaster. I'm
not liking what I'm hearing out of the Bears camp.
The signs were there with painted finger nails, crying to
your mom in the standouts or a game. I'm taking
the Bears under.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
I'll take them over, over, take the lines whatever.

Speaker 12 (20:00):
I mean. I'm not going to go with the last
caller and say, you know, Shador would start over him.
But it's just not I'm not liking what I'm hearing.
I mean, I know it was just a meme, but
not being able to throw into a net. I don't
know if he has that many weapons, I'm not liking it.

Speaker 6 (20:16):
All right, all right, probably be another.

Speaker 12 (20:19):
Bears quarterback bus I.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Know, goodwill he better be the first one to throw
four thousand yards? Rob, he's too good. Natural talent? Why
natural talent? Why somebody better do it? My gosh, who
we got trending?

Speaker 6 (20:33):
All right?

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Yeah, I just been four thousand yards. It is supposed
to be regular at this point in the NFL. The
fact that Bears haven't had one, and Kayleb Williams is
all that talent. He better break that e from on
the other side. Looking forward, he has to say. Right now,
Steve A.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Seger, what's be sure to catch live editions of The
Odd Couple with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at
seven pm Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
All right, Steve, thank you so much. Odd Couple, Rob
and Kelvin, or The Rash Talk on Tuesday. We're joy
now as we all I saw on Tuesdays, with our
man from Salam former NFL offensive lineman. Fox Sports radio
weekend hosts got his own theme song is walk up
music from What Up Man?

Speaker 6 (21:14):
What's happening? Brothers?

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Are y'all doing doing good?

Speaker 1 (21:17):
You want to continue to get his point Rob on
our conversation, I really are. We don't agree on the
Caleb they hate. Either that's our Rob views or is
it fair or unfair?

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Not hate.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
I just think that there's some personal personal Caleb because
he's not traditional.

Speaker 5 (21:32):
He paints his finger nails.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
He cried to his mom, and there's something there now
people that people look at because they were, Oh, he
can't play. Now he can't play, and the season's over
and they're talking about practice and all that.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
I'm just I can't.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
It seems too soon to be with a new coach,
new coordinators, new stuff to be crying like it's the
end of the world.

Speaker 5 (21:55):
That's why I said that.

Speaker 6 (21:57):
I think a lot of I think a lot of
people's hesitation Caleb Williams comes from his lack of success
even on the college level. I mean, he was this
highly touted quarterback. But what did he really do in college? What? What?
What did he what did he want?

Speaker 5 (22:15):
A Heisman trophy, so he must have played yell enough.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
But I'm talking about in team wise.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
Yeah, but but do you know what the defense was
at at USC.

Speaker 6 (22:23):
I'm not understand that.

Speaker 4 (22:25):
Look, they fired the coach because they couldn't stop anybody.

Speaker 5 (22:29):
You said, what are you doing? College? He won a
Heisman trophy.

Speaker 6 (22:32):
Listen to what I'm telling you. When you're alluded as
one of those top quarterbacks, most of those guys have
taken programs. He went to sc now and he was
there for two years, two big years to get made
a lot of money, but with nothing to show for it.
He won the Heisman, hooray. But team wise, so when
he got to the league and you had all the

(22:53):
you know, he came into a terrible situation last year,
completely dysfunctioned, uh and he wasn't able to raise the
level of play there. So I think the hesitation with
people is is he that guy? Is he that Heisman winner?
Can he lift a program like the Bears or any
other Bears out of obscurity and lead them? And I

(23:16):
think that's why people now the painting the nails and
the being more emotional and all that, that's neither hearing
nor there because if he was out here burning down
the field, wouldn't nobody care what color's nails were. So
I think the fact that for him.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
No, I think that that stuff with that stuff adds
to it when he doesn't do well.

Speaker 5 (23:35):
That's all I saying to you. That adds here.

Speaker 4 (23:38):
Would you know that if you if you play really well,
that's just right right? So to me, that's why they
add the extra for him. That's all I'm saying. All right,
I want to go to Shador Sanders and your thoughts
on him winning the NFL MVP in the preseason.

Speaker 6 (23:56):
Only you would approach that topic in such a passive
aggressive I'm just negative hate. Passive aggressive.

Speaker 5 (24:03):
I'm not to hate.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
Hate means that you you have to have, like some
skin in the game or like I know somebody personally.
I don't hate at all Shador Sanders because I don't
think he's good. I think he's going to be cut
by the Browns. But I don't hate him. That's what
people do. I do, Yeah, I do.

Speaker 6 (24:21):
They don't have any other quarterback ready to play, Okay,
So I'm just giv Joe Flacco may or may not
ever play in the preseason. Don't think he needs to.
If Joe Flacco is the starting quarterback in Week one,
which is expected, then you know he's the only other
real healthy quarterback vying for for a roster spot. So

(24:44):
you're gonna cut that guy. You won't cut that guy?

Speaker 5 (24:50):
Yes, yes, If I have to cut one of the two, one.

Speaker 6 (24:53):
Of them is hurt. We don't know what he is.
And that's the one.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
Why is he getting the past?

Speaker 4 (24:58):
I just I just like, what do you mean? Yeah,
but he's hurt, so I can't cut off of being hurt.
But he's a third round pick. They have more invested
in him. They have more invested in him. They don't
cut third round picks. Come on, man, Without him playing.

Speaker 6 (25:15):
Hello, that third round pickle will be on the practice squad.
Your dude will be the backup quarterback and Joe Flacco
will be the starter. Canny Piggy will be traded or release.
That's just what it's gonna be.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
That's what it should be for me.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
I've been saying that, Well, quarterback's.

Speaker 6 (25:31):
The only one that's playing, So how are you gonna
cut him?

Speaker 4 (25:33):
He hasn't played with the first offense. He hasn't even
played with the first team. It doesn't even make I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (25:39):
What he would look like the first team didn't play.

Speaker 5 (25:43):
No, I'm talking about in practice.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
I'm talking about since they had many camp training camp,
come on film.

Speaker 6 (25:50):
Nobody he has protected starter Joe Flack, but he hasn't.

Speaker 5 (25:57):
He hasn't had any snaps. The other guys have had snap.

Speaker 6 (26:00):
You is the starter, like I just said, Kevin, you know,
stop me if I'm wrong, didn't. I just say the
projected starter is Joe Flacco.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
But all the quarterbacks have had snaps with the first
team other than you do.

Speaker 5 (26:15):
That's that's me point.

Speaker 6 (26:17):
Then Joe Flacco is going to get the starting reps.
That's just the way it goes. Now. This may be
different the second preseason game in the final preseason games,
but they let him play almost the whole game so
they can really see what he what he.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
Has, and supposedly he didn't move up on a depth trot.
They saw so much they could have easily said, you.

Speaker 5 (26:37):
Know what, he's number two. Oh yeah, we see it now,
But they haven't done that.

Speaker 6 (26:41):
Who started the second game? Who's starting?

Speaker 5 (26:43):
I'm just asking you why didn't they move him up?

Speaker 4 (26:46):
It's so obvious to you and to Kelvin, but not
to the Browns.

Speaker 6 (26:50):
The issue I have we don't know until game time.
We don't know where anyone is. That's what preseason is.
That's that's what training, that's what training can.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
There's a depth charit. There's a depth chart for the
depth chart right after a game. Rob after the game,
the game he played so well, he's the number two.

Speaker 5 (27:12):
Yes, that that's why they put it out.

Speaker 6 (27:14):
Guys. Guys, you got three hours to argue with each other.
Only get a little bit.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Of time on right.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
So yeah, and all I'm saying is all I'm saying,
is Robo any anything you Rebut he's gonna come back
with whatever he said in his waist. All I can
say is week and three weeks, we'll see what it is.
That's it.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Yeah, I just don't I don't think he was right. Yeah,
I don't. I've been saying here and I've been going
back since the draft.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
I don't get what there is to not necessarily Like,
I'm not saying he is supposed to be Joe Montano,
but I don't see what he's doing to.

Speaker 6 (27:46):
Make so he can play on the on this level.
I mean that that's what what are we talking about here.
You think you gonna they're gonna cut someone. I know
what the rest of the league will they hope that
they get cut?

Speaker 5 (27:57):
I can tell you that, Oh yeah, they could have.
They could have drafted him, and he was so great
they could have draft. Why didn't they draft him? Why
draft you? What draft from?

Speaker 4 (28:07):
I'm asking you so so now, off of that game,
Off of that game. Now he's a hot commodity. But
they didn't think he was a hot commodity when he
was in the draft. Come on, man, you're better than that.

Speaker 6 (28:17):
Come on, I am better than I was.

Speaker 4 (28:20):
Preseason game, the first preseason game.

Speaker 6 (28:23):
If you would listen. I know you have trouble listen ning,
but if you would listen, right, we get what you single,
we get or we know in a relationship.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Dude, dude, hang up, hang up on your front, Hang
up on your hang up on your front. Why are
you gonna bring up You're gonna bring up my personal life.
I'm serious. That's a that's a freaking look. That's a
freaking low blow that you know why I'm single? You
got some nerve he from Hang up on him. Seriously,
you could have a you could have a conversation you're
gonna get personal with my personal life on the air.

(28:56):
I think that's a low blow from all right, hang up,
let's got we.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
An't gotta hang up. Let's just let's move on.

Speaker 5 (29:05):
I mean, we don't.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Let's just move on.

Speaker 5 (29:07):
Let's be personal, personal in my life.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
We're gonna be personal.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
You're out of control.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
That was low.

Speaker 5 (29:15):
That was a low blow.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
That was a low blow. You don't know what.

Speaker 5 (29:19):
Went on in my personal life while I single. You
don't even know. I'm just saying, yeah, whatever, you can
say that, I ain't.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
Gonna see you.

Speaker 5 (29:28):
Trust me, I ain't gonna see you. No, you ain't
gonna see me because I ain't gonna be here.

Speaker 6 (29:33):
Oh are you done? Yes?

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Yes, Well if I'm not there right now? Otherwise look,
let me let me all right, let me switch gears.
I wanted to go to this Ephraim and I was
gonna tell you in the Shadur because the other quarterback
that he that he hung out with and worked out
with throughout the summer, cam Ward cam War.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
A lot of the team, a lot of folks are.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
Kind of saying that sneaky team could be the Titans
when you look at the offensive weapons that cam Ward
is going to have People are kind of high on
the Titans right now on the AFC side, Where are
you with the Titans? Are they able to maybe sneak
in and make some noise the season?

Speaker 6 (30:08):
Well, I think this is the first time they're really
gonna have a viable quarterback option course through the run game,
and Derrick Henry's not there. But cam Ward is one
of those game changers. His demeanor, his approach to the
season in college, his approach to after the season and
the working out and the combine and all of that
was above board. That's why he was flying up so

(30:31):
many people's scouting reports. I think cam Ward has the
ability and the natural talent to make some noise in
that division. I mean, that division isn't isn't sewn up
by Houston or anybody. I think he is talented enough,
and he has a maturity about it that I really

(30:52):
like about him coming into that position as a you know,
first pick in the draft and as a starting quarterback
in the face of a French I love that his
maturity is going to allow him to be able to
access that locker room and those veterans buying into what
he's bringing to the table.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Yeah, people, A lot of people are high on him.
He looked good so far.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
Obviously still early, but they got some sneaky weapons over there.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
Man.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
Also if you include Kelvin Ridley, Calvin Ridley as well.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
All right, he man, we're gonna let you go. Brother.
Appreciate you as always.

Speaker 6 (31:20):
Hey man, y'all appreciate you. I love you Rob. Look,
he don't want to talk to me. I love you, Rob,
but he's not gonna say nothing. He man. They didn't
hang up on me. I love you, y'all, Thank arth.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
Thanks e. All right.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
On the other side, we got Sheckle City Player of
the Day as well, and another gambling scandal.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
That's Rock and Sports. We'll get into that.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
It is they couple, Rock Parker Kelvin Washington on the
Trash Talking Tuesday Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
It is the Couple Rock Parker Kevin Washington on a
trash Sucking Tuesday. And as we always do around this time,
it is now time four Shekel City.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
Welcome to Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parker's
day Dicks against the Sprat.

Speaker 5 (32:26):
Here we go Shekel City.

Speaker 4 (32:27):
One and two last night one eight six one ninety
one is the total, and we go. Best bet New
York Mets minus one and a half taking on the
Atlanta Braids.

Speaker 5 (32:41):
I think you're up three to one already.

Speaker 4 (32:42):
Of course, this was all posted on social earlier. Tigers
minus one and a half. They are in Chicago taking
on the White Sox and the Kansas City Royals minus
one and a half. They are hosting the Washington Nationals
again national, I mean Royals minus one and a half,
Tiger's minus one and a half at the New York
Metropolitans minus one and a half. And remember, I'm not

(33:05):
telling you who to bet on what you're telling them.
I'm telling you who I better.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
All right, it's time now for your tire rack play
of the day. There's a high right.

Speaker 5 (33:14):
Right field line.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
Drive goodbye, hold on six runs back jazz tism with
a line drive home run six two Yankees here in
the eighth and eight.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
All right, chisel on the whole run Yankees Radio.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
There for your tire rack play of the day, and
as always, the player of the day is brought to
you by tier Racking. For over forty years, tire rack
has been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive. Ship fast and free back
by free road has a protection with convenient insallation options
like mobile tire installation tire rack dot com. It is
the way tire buying should be. Rob We've been talking

(33:50):
about this for a little bit. Now that gambling it
ain't going nowhere two paces out the tube. And now
because the companies, the media outlets, the NFL, all the
leagues are involved in it. And now you even have
all this easy technology bills writing to palm o your
hands where this could be problematic for a lot of folks.
And now you got a college quarterback there at Oklahoma,

(34:15):
John Mattier, who was the starting quarterback there, all of
a sudden popped up last night the screenshots of some
past references to sports gambling on his Vimeo count venmo
count and as someone put him out there, and then
he obviously said, the allegations that I once participated in
sports gambling are false. He said that on x my
previous Vemo descriptions did not accurately portray the transactions in question,

(34:39):
but were instead inside jokes between me and my friends.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
I never been on sports. I understand the seriousness of.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
The matter, but recognized taking out of context those Venmo
descriptions suggests otherwise. So Ian listen, this is something I
believe rob is only going to grow specifically with young
men because and again we'll find out what's what. See
Oklahoma's investigating and get They'll find out and get to
the bottom of it, whether it's true or not. All
I know is this ain't going nowhere because the ease

(35:07):
and access in which kids can gamble now, the way
they can do parlay, is the way they can hop
on any website they want, and it's almost promoted as
if it's like a video game, something like something fun,
not a big deal. I just think, especially if you're
sixteen now in high school, right you're just doing it
parlay and having fun, and then you get to college.

(35:29):
These kids will have spent so much of their lives.
If you're twelve year old now, all you've known was
the easy and access to gamble, so fun, easy, nothing crazy.
I gotta bet my house. I gotta bet five thousand dollars.
I could just do a little five out of parlay,
little ten dollars. I think, you know, Baker Mayfield is
going to go three touchdowns this game. And I think
the ease and access we're going to be having these

(35:51):
types of conversations so often moving forward.

Speaker 5 (35:57):
Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
I mean it's a part of uh, the the part
of sports now and and teams getting in bed with
the gambling houses. There's no way that you're gonna be
able to uh not have issues and uh people looking
at stuff knowing somebody's hurt on their team or whatever
it is, and they can affect it.

Speaker 5 (36:19):
Like the props we talked about, they won't stop them.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
But if I if I'm a player and I have
a prop bet, and I have friends and family, and
I say, hey, load up, I'm not gonna take all
those threes. I'm gonna be under tonight on threes. I
could easily do that, you know what I mean, and
just take a step in and and then not have
to give money to my family and friends. But they
can earn it themselves by by betting. So I don't

(36:43):
know how you're gonna avoid that.

Speaker 6 (36:44):
I just.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Brought up a great.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
Point because we're gonna you know, it's certain things like
obvious things like back in the day, points shape is obvious.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Right this whole game, you.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
Look awful, you know what I mean, You miss the shots,
you turn it over, you look out of breath. That
it's not obvious thing. You're a pitcher and the first
pitch is going to be a ball. Well, pitchers throw
balls all the time. They don't strikes all the time.
They might throw ninety miles all.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
The time, you know what I mean, Like all these
prop the big.

Speaker 5 (37:14):
The big thing is they look at their money put
down on it.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
And that's why, like crazy, all of a sudden, a
million dollars is better on the first pitch in the
second inning for a pitcher, do you know, Like that's
oh yeah, they know what kind of money should be
coming in on those kinds of prop bets, and.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
Terry Rozier soon should be getting that much money.

Speaker 4 (37:33):
The same thing, you know, like they they know they'd
be like, okay, that's weird, all of a sudden, on
this one pitch we took on a million dollars, We
took a million dollar bath.

Speaker 5 (37:42):
They going to investigate that.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
Yeah, I just think it's going to be so difficult
because I think we specifically we're talking about players because
there's so many of these players who are getting if
you're if you're fourteen right now and you're a nice
high school baseball prospect, basketball football prospect, and it's to ease,
and it's in, it's in songs, it's in you know,
all the kind of social media vernacular in pop culture,

(38:08):
and I think it's just a part of the lexicon.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
Of where we are right now.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
You know, like nobody can post anything on social media
without the comment saying he don't ever do that on
my parlay. It could be Chisholm has three home runs tonight, Oh,
but when I need them to just get two hits,
he can't do that in my parlay. Like it's so
common now we have who was excited about they did
their first party, when somebody with oh somebody at my

(38:32):
the TV job, or somebody was so excited she did
her first part. It's just so normal now that I
think it's gonna be hard for these kids not too
often partake in this and realizing they're not allowed to
because they're the athletes on the teams and in these
leagues and in sports or in college in this case.
So I don't know how they're gonna, I wanna say,
get rid of it, but how they're gonna monitor or
monitor it because it's so prevalent right now.

Speaker 4 (38:52):
Yeah, it's it's the money. I mean, when they see
big money, they think the fixes in. It's just it
really is that simple. I mean, that's how that's how
he catch people.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
Uh Otani speaking of getting caught.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
The Dodgers are getting caught, And you don't think Otani
deserves a vote for what?

Speaker 2 (39:07):
We gotta talk about it
