Speaker 1 (02:00):
That's right. With that said, always remember the Odd Couple
was filmed in front of a live au. Here, sweetie,
all right, let's go big show. Let me welcome in
my co host, mister kelvin Washington. What up man, Happy Monday,
Magic City Monday. Good weekend of football. Uh, college football

(02:23):
was pretty good. I had to make some crazy games,
some crazy finishes there. We had a really good fight.
We had some good NFL actions. So yeah, good weekend man.
We got a lot to get you, a lot to
get you on this Magic City Monday.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Absolutely of course, Monday night football getting started early four
o'clock Pacific, seven pm Easter and a doubleheader. But unlike
before where they would overlap the games, you'll be able
to watch like both of them. I think it starts
at four Pacific and the other one starts at seven.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Like the NBA out here. You know how to get
you the early one, you get the late one, yeah,
because it used to be at the same time because baking.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
But the one late one, you know what I mean,
seven pm is ten pm Eastern's that's late.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
So they just decided with the West Coast to not
overlap them.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Yeah, A lot to get to on this Monday. Let's
welcome into the odd couple crew. Wouldn't be able to
do this fine radio program without him. Rob G is
our producer, Alex is our engineer. Steve the Seger's at
the stinker desk. He'll keep us updated throughout the program.
Never heard of them and I never heard of them.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Of them is our social media right there. Never heard of.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Him, guru who does a great job for us. So yeah,
a lot to get to and Rob G we can
start right here.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
The Kansas City Chiefs lose to the Philadelphia Eagles in
the rematch of the Super Bowl a year ago. Except
for the Chiefs didn't get their ass kicked like they
did in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
They still lose.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
For the Chiefs, it's the second last year there were
eleven and oh in one score game this year in
one score games OH and two.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Rob g the details. That's right.

Speaker 6 (04:08):
It's a tough scene in Kansas City. Starting off OH
and two for the first time in the Mahomes era,
they've lost three straight games for the first time in
the Mahomes era.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
And here's the other issue.

Speaker 6 (04:19):
The Chiefs again first time starting H two is twenty
fourteen as a franchise, not just Andy Reid, not just
Patrick Mahomes, not just Travis Kelsey. They have missed the
postseason each of the last six times they've started the
season oh and two. And if that wasn't bad enough,
across the NFL, teams that start out oh and two

(04:41):
only make the playoffs twelve percent of the time.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Kelvin, I got news for you. What's that The percentages
could say twelve percent, I'm saying zero percent. The Chiefs
will not and otam make the play I have been
talking about them for two years now, and the Lucky
Rabbits foot well, I've been I've been chronicling this all,

(05:09):
the demise of what's going on and Patrick Mahomes and
the numbers. I made the mistake last year and said
that Patrick Mahomes had turned into Daniel Jones.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I'm wrong. He's worse than Daniel Jones. Are you kidding me?
Have you seen the numbers for Patrick Mahomes?

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Not good? Not even not good? How about terrible? How
about awful? I'll give you the numbers. Passer rating eighty two,
twenty sixth in the National Football League, not even completing
sixty percent of his passes fifty eight point eight, twenty.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Eighth in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
George per passed twenty first at six point five. Dink
and dunk thinking dunk enough. Dinking is good, and dunking
with don't but not football so much.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Just say shock and dunk with. You don't want to
be dunking yards.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Per game two hundred and twenty two and a half
seven times for seventeenth and two touchdowns, one pick in
two games so far.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
So the numbers are not good.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Travis Kelsey's retired, and on any other day he might
as well retire because once he started talking about it,
you're basically retired as a player. And you saw the
bad play and turned into an interception. But he's just
a non factor. I mean, it's unbelievable how much of
a non factor he is. You know, you can talk

(06:35):
about waiting for receivers to come back and keep hoping
and wishing. And before it was Patrick Mah, they have
the most drops, and they had this, and they had
that that. People have kept making excuses instead of looking
at what the numbers are, and the numbers aren't good.
I'm just I'm not surprised. I'm really not. But it
finally caught up to him. All that good luck. I

(06:57):
told you last year they weren't gonna win us Super Bowl.
They were way too lucky. Teams would blow up and
make a bad plays to help them win. The kicker
would hit the upright or miss an easy field goal
or whatever it was. It was all these things that happened.
And now here they are, two games in. They and
the games that they normally win no matter what, they

(07:20):
haven't been able to win. So I'm not surprised. I
know the math. The math says twelve percent of teams
that start zero and two don't make the playoffs. Right,
I'm saying just zero. I just do not see them
making the playoffs. And I know there's fifteen games to

(07:42):
go and a lot of football of play. I just
I'm looking at this team and I'm just I don't
see it.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
This is where I don't understand you. Sometimes I love
you like a play cousin, but I don't get it.
They're owing two and each game, especially yesterday they lose
by three to the raginning champs, And you just mentioned
Travis Kelce catches that touchdown, passes a different game. He
does it not all day. I'm with you. We could

(08:09):
do all the way and we can, so let me
do it. So Travis Kelce catches that touchdown, we might
be having a completely different conversation. And similar to the Chargers,
they're right that in that thing or drive away from
winning it. So they got to win those games, and
they have historically the last year or two won those games.
Here's why I'm not counting them out. Number one, you
just mentioned it.

Speaker 7 (08:28):
They have fifteen games left, and if I'm them, I'm saying,
we just two teams who are legitimate playoff teams who look, well,
one is the raining.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Chance to owing two? There their season's over. Yeah, but
the Jets ain't the Chiefs. So like I was saying,
I'm looking at it as the Chargers look like they're
gonna be. They were a playoff team and look like
they're gonna be really good. We'll find out more tonight.
And also the Eagles have been good for the last
three four years and then're the Raginning champs. We were
in both of those games. In fact, again you felt
really good about If you're the Tenna City chief and

(08:56):
you feel really good about that, Now here's the reason
why what you say matters to me. I'm looking at
it as we're competitive with two really good teams. We're
in this we still have of course, two guys coming
worthy might be back next game. And then you got
Rashid Rice who could be backing as another three or
four games. So as long as if you stay in
this thing and you're three and three, you're even here

(09:17):
for two and three, and you're floating around there, you
have more than enough runway to right the ship. Similarly
to how I felt about the Ravens last year when
they started off oh and two. If there's a team
that can go one and two, one and three, oh
and two on three, it'd be a handful of teams.
The Chiefs are one of those teams. They've been right
there in those games that I know. Again they feel
like we are a player two away if we get

(09:39):
our guys back, So to me, I'm looking at it
as defense has kept you around, especially against the Eagles.
And then again when we get our guys back, we
have more explosiveness. We got guys who can take it
over the top. To your point, they've been dinking and dunk.
We have opportunities to go along. We have opportunities for
special plays, a little bubble screen that breaks because worthiest
fast as I don't know what, so I don't look
at it as and again that's win two. Two teams

(10:01):
were ten and seven that made the post even season.
You got the Bucks that made the postseason at ten
and seven, and the Broncos in your own division made
the postseason last year at ten and seven. Ten and seven,
So you have plenty more games if you gotta lose
a couple more, if you obviously got to go on
a nice winning streak ten and seven, if that can
get you in. This team is capable of ten and

(10:21):
seven to get in. So I don't know. I'm not
writing them off how you are based off of those
facts alone. Right there, I rolled them off. Last year.
I told you they couldn't win a super Bowl.

Speaker 7 (10:29):
They won halfo you to tell me that, and they
win the Super and no one doesn't.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
I told you they weren't good enough, they couldn't win
a super Bowl.

Speaker 7 (10:37):
So you told you, You told told you because only
one heven wouldn't win the super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Even we went out on the limb, Rod.

Speaker 7 (10:46):
Could have been sixty. So what I told you, Rosters,
you're the man. They literally win maybe six, maybe sixteen
and one. Some of this football knowledge since nineteen eighties.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
So here's what I'll do. Here's what I'll do. I'll
just say a team was gonna lose every week, lose
every week, and it acts like it doesn't matter. And
then when you come in, don't want to bring it
up that they lost until they they won, until they lose.
So let me learn from you. They're gonna lose.

Speaker 7 (11:12):
They're gonna lose it even though he win, they won,
they won, they won, they won, then they finally lose
in the super Bowl. I told you. You told me
every week they were gonna lose any all of them.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Did you did just like a half weeks, just like
I told you the Lions were and you told me
that for ten weeks. I told rog they want th
receipts that Rob g told me every week you would
have picked the Lions. You told you they go in there,
and you picked them every week thinking they were going
to win.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Some teams are fifteen to two. No, don't look like
broster damage. Just like what you call. You had them
beating the Washington You know that didn't win the super Bowl.
God forbid. You get to the super Bowl supposed to
be there, there was supposed God forbid. I told you.
I didn't tell you when it was strong.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
I told you when they were eleven or twelve and
o that they weren't winning.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
No super Bowl. You kept telling me they're gonna lose. No,
that's what I don't know what you want to listen to.
That's impressive. When they're gonna lose. They're gonna lose. They're
gonna lose. They're gonna lose. They're gonna lose. I'm finally
gotta right.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
No, they're not gonna win the Super's gonna tell me.
I told you that, and I'm telling you again.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
You go back. You know the best about it.

Speaker 7 (12:12):
Fans know that's that's what they're doing the best about it.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
No, you've got everything on YouTube. They all know. I
love Michael.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
He sat here and told me Jim's ain't gonna get fired.
He just took the Knicks to the best place they
ever been. What I would next day, I told you
I want to get fired. You told me that they overachieved.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
They achieved. No, they did not overachieve. A team got
fired their coach. Why you bring why why are you
going back to the Knicks? What I got to do anything?

Speaker 3 (12:42):
No, I'm just trying to I'm telling you stuff ahead
of time, way ahead of time.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
So if you listen to the program every single week
you lose. The Chiefs are gonna lose, and Rogers ain't
gonna do this, liar, you're gonna do it. I told you,
you told me this week they're gonna lose. I got
that one wrong this week coming out. That's all I
need play Baltimore. You just said that I got this
one wrong. I'm better now. You just said that. I'm happy.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
I'm just trying to tell you what I gotta tell you,
all right, eight seven seven ninety they can't get to
tenn and seven eight seven seven nine nine six sixty
three sixty nine? Are they owing two Chiefs destined to
miss the playoffs? Because I think they will miss the
playoffs of course, Kelvin is the half glasses half full
guy eight seven seven Fox.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
They can't get to that run.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
We'll continue that conversation next with you. It is the
Odd Couple on the Magic City Monday. I'm fired off.
Nothing better than the Enna Final. And then when the Chiefs
are oh to two, lost three straight games, and this
is Obrien a.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Rogers threw four touchdowns. This is loss, This is off.
Aaron Rodgers had some beautiful ball. I'm about to cook you.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. It is the
couple on a Magic City Monday. You know what you
need to do, stick and.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Stay if you finally understand that he will never be
close to Brady and yeah, he's not even Jordan asking
the us off. There you go.

I'm a woman. They'm just saying now they be sparing
you because we saw you. He'll skip all eight of
them to get to one to rip on me.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
That's just how he is. He was sparing you. Let me,
they said last week. Elijah him said you sure want Yeah,
you are fake. I'm just saying I know how rob
G operates. He'll go over eight of them, you know,
and they come up with one ripping on You know,
you keep separating that room in there. I told you,
robb G is team me, Alex's team you.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
Rob G better Now he's wearing the birthday project that
I got him, rob G, what shirt do you have?

Speaker 6 (16:19):
I'm looking at the YouTube comments. If you want to
read a couple, rob we really want him, I'll read
him to you. Here's what it says.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Just read him. Robbie talking some bull jobs.

Speaker 6 (16:28):
All the times he been wrong, the one time he's right,
he wants to be like I'm right.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Glad Calvin called him out that's something Chris would have done.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Now that's now that's bad because that means Kelvin is
now doing the show and writing comments at the same time.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
I give you that was a good one. Listen, man,
I'm just saying, all right, ahead of the people, you know,
let's we.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Don't we don't know where that's coming from. Let's talk
to them. It comes shrip people to you too.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Well, I don't know who's out there.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
I don't know who's writing the comments. Wait, so you want, yeah,
I do Trip and last Vegas. You're on the hour
Trip in Fox Sports Radio. What's up? Trip?

Speaker 5 (17:04):
Hey, God bless. I'm big friends with the guys in
front of you, but I had to call in the day.
Here's why, Kansas City. I'm gonna throw out a few things,
and y'all let me know what you think. They may
go ten and seven, they may make the playoffs. Okay,
but guess what, Uh it's done. It's like when Brady left,
we'll see who's the better. Is it going to be
read or or Mahomes? And then when the Giants beat

(17:27):
them this week, I'll call back on Monday and apologize
or brag. And my last thing is like a girl
when she leaves you, she ain't coming back.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
Well, here's here's the argument I will have with you
and the rockbas shrags it up. Thank you, trip, But
the Patriots won one one and won a few and
then they didn't win for nine years. Always bring up
and then they want some more. So I don't. I don't.
If you're saying the Patriots to me, then you're using
an example of where you can, you know, have a
few years where you're down and bounce back.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
Jerry in Seattle, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
What's up, Jerry?

Speaker 4 (17:59):
Not much?

Speaker 10 (17:59):
How y'all do good?

Speaker 1 (18:00):
How are you good?

Speaker 11 (18:03):
Y'all are on fire this day? You got to save
some of it up long show?

Speaker 3 (18:06):
I know, right, hey, you know how it is Jerry
after a football weekend, and it only gets better.

Speaker 6 (18:12):
I hear.

Speaker 11 (18:12):
So I want to be a peacemaker here and just
bring y'all together and remind y'all that you both picked
the Ravens last year and they didn't do it and
they ain't gonna do it again this year, so whatever you.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Said, whatever, all right, Jerry, Jerry, and keep Rob Gi
call her. I D keep his number. So we can
call him back. Randy in New Orleans joined the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Brandy, what's going on? Wait?
Fired up?

Speaker 12 (18:39):
You know it is always good to hit from you
on a Monday.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
I said that if they don't make the playoffs.

Speaker 12 (18:44):
One of the biggest changes that the Chiefs are facing
that people now talking about is a division. Right, that
division is much better than it was a few years ago.
You started to see the difference last year.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
But as the Charges get better and the Broncos get better,
the Raiders get better. All teams are well coach, probably
the best coach division in football. So there's non division
games that you would lose and come back in this
weather division to make them playoffs. They're not gonna be
able to do that. I'll probably going on the limits
say that they split every game in the division. Wow,

(19:16):
they're not gonna make the playoffs with that.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
Well, Randy, I hear you on paper, But the Broncos
don't look better right now, and the Raiders will find
out tonight. So I get with your same thing with
the NFC North. It sounds good. The bear is supposed
to better. They not the vakingship. I don't know that
they're better. We all say it, but it sounds good.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Johnny in Minnesota, you're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
What's up, Johnny?

Speaker 13 (19:38):
Hey, how's it going?

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Rob doing great?

Speaker 13 (19:40):
And Kelvin what's up?

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Gry what's up? Brother man.

Speaker 13 (19:45):
We all talk about the Kansas City Chiefs being you know,
they get a little slow, but that's a no they
We'll talk about them in the playoffs. They start off,
they'll be like, hey, no one, either win one game
by one point, and.

Speaker 10 (20:00):
All of a sudden they're in the super Bowl.

Speaker 13 (20:02):
I mean, what else can he be else? Can he
be better than that?

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Right now?

Speaker 3 (20:06):
But the only difference here, Johnny, is they have never
started owing to and never lost three and ago in
a row with Patrick. This is the new ground that
they're breaking. That's why this is so interesting. This isn't
just losing one game. You go, oh my god, this
guy's falling. They've never done this. That's a long run.
Patrick Mahone's been around seven eight years and you're saying
that he's never lost three games in a row, never

(20:28):
lost two games to start the season, and and the
NFL numbers no matter what, this is throughout all teams
twelve percent chance of making the playoffs right after you
go oing two.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
That's that's there's so much big number we're looking at
being trying to replay Joe Burrowby and I will get
to that. That helps them too, because it's another team
that possibly could have made the postseason. We don't know
because they didn't make it last year though, but I'm
saying that we all kind of thinking they should be better.
There's a bunch of reasons too. The Broncos might not
even make it, So we'll see all right on the way,
we got Henry mccanneth, Fox Sports National NFL writer. We'll

(20:58):
talk to more NFL headlines with him and just a
bit Steven Sager, what's trending? Hey, Steve.

Speaker 2 (21:03):

Speaker 10 (21:46):
I'm good? What's up, guys? Good to be back.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
We're fired up. All good, Henry. I'm just straight up.
I got the Chiefs not making the playoffs. I'm out
on the Chiefs. I've been banging this drum last year.
I thought they were lucky as hecked to be eleven
or twelve and ohero and their record they camp winning, winning,
winning eleven and zero in games with one score right,
one score games. And now already this year, Oh and

(22:10):
to where you won the Chiefs and just what's happening?

Speaker 10 (22:15):
Yeah? I had them finishing in third in the division. Wow.
I did like a way too early playoff prediction back
when the schedule came out. I said, that looks crueling,
and it's proving to be so far. But I did
actually have them sneaking into the playoffs just because Patrick
Mahomes and so look like you're saying these ended game situations,

(22:39):
we were so accustomed to balls bouncing the chief way
to situations favoring the Chiefs. I am a firm believer,
as a guy who covered the Patriots at the end
of their dynasty for almost a decade, I'm a firm
believer that these end of game situations are not just luck. Right, like,
when it's as like it was last year, what is

(23:02):
luck the residue of it's the residue of preparation, It's
the residue of hard work. And you know, last year
I talked to Rob Gronkows, Julian Edelman, members of that
Patriots dynasty about the Chiefs what I called I did
it for this story that I was reading called the
The Art of the Narrow Big Tree, and I was
trying to figure out how Tom Brady did it, how
the Patriots did it. Bill Belichick, we know that. Oh

(23:26):
my god, that's too that's too long of another time.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
I know, I know, I know, I don't want to
get hours of our show talking about that.

Speaker 10 (23:33):
Yeah, right, all right, I'll be here for a while. No,
But but that's my point, is that which is that like? Okay,
So if that's the truth of it, is that it's
hard work and preparation and all of a sudden this
year it's maybe not flipping their way, then does that
mean they're maybe not working hard enough yet and that
they're not preparing hard enough. And that would make sense
given them that they've been to three Super Bowls in

(23:54):
a row. They won too, they failed on the three peet.
There's a bit of a hangover both for their success,
say and their failure. I'm thinking that their plans haven't
gone according to plan with the two receivers, with the
suspension and the injury to Dave. You're worthy, Rushi, Rice,
But they're going to be dangerous in the second half
of this season because they always are, because they have

(24:16):
Patrick Mahomes and because those two receivers are coming back.
So don't lose faith those people in Kansas City and Rob,
I think that was Yoused just said that. You don't
think they're making this lass. I think they're wrong. I
think they can still do it.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Okay, have you watched Travis Kelcey play too lately? I mean,
what is he? I mean, my goodness, yeah, no, is
he coming back in the second half too, or is
he going to retire in the second half.

Speaker 10 (24:40):
I think he'll be there, but he won't be the
focal point of the offense. I think, like I said, Zave,
you're worthy Rushi Rice. The thing about this Chiefs offense,
and I was recently talking to, you know, a source
inside Kansas City, inside that organization. I was saying, hey,
you know, like, what's been going on with the offense
these last year's Why isn't it come together? And he

(25:01):
told me that they've been building this offense around Rushie Rice,
and last year he was right at the center. It
was the engine that made it go until he got
hurt and then they didn't really know what to do.
Pass forward to this year that he gets his suspension,
I'm not sure they totally anticipated that suspension hitting for
week one or even for twenty twenty five. They thought

(25:23):
maybe it might linger all the way into twenty twenty six.
So both times they have the plan to feature Rushie Rice.
He's actually going to sort of look like Travis Kelce
in the offense, and both times that plan foiled. That
is indicative that maybe it was a bad plan to
begin with. But still I think That's what's going to

(25:43):
happen to Travis Kelcey is he's going to fade into
a complimentary role and he's going to be less important.
And so that like these you know, crucial drops. That
that's the bounce that we were talking about. Really that the
term the game. He drops the ball and it goes
in to the hands of it Eagles rookie. It reminded me,
honestly of the Cooper dejen interception in the Super Bowl

(26:06):
just technically two games ago, right, but back in February.
So yeah, I mean, Kelsey doesn't look like himself. They
need to get him out of this the primary path.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
Listen, Henry, he already told us. You know, usually hear
this from pro athletes once you mentally check out, and
he said, I wasn't there last year. I wasn't focus.
Then he's got the soon to be the biggest wedd
and ever he might not be there and just naturally
you get you age. Harry McKennon Fox Sports National NFL
writer with us, Let's go to the other side, Henry,
the Eagles. I feel like the Eagles. Randy Champs has

(26:37):
been in Super Bowl a couple times in the last
three years, we don't really talk about them as much.
And is it just because they're just that good they're dominating?
Is maybe the styling which they play? Is it boring?
What is it about the Eagles? And then also Rob
G and I were talking about this, the toush push
will have extended conversation at some point. How long do
you think that's gonna last? Because I just see from

(26:57):
a broadcasting standpoint, and then obviously competitive edge, I can
feel like they're going to try to find a way
to legislate that out after this year.

Speaker 10 (27:04):
Yeah, So what's wrong with the Eagles or why are
we not more interested? Well, Jalen Hurts as good as
I think he is. I really do think he's you know,
generally like on the whole top five quarterback, top eight
quarterback in the league. You know, he's not the flashiest player.
Like the tush push is one of his best plays.

(27:25):
And that's not to belittle him as a quarterback. It
makes him one of the best situational football players in
in the league. And we just talked about how important
situational play is. It's what's making the Chiefs lose, it's
what's making the Eagles win. So I think that's hugely important.
But ultimately, you know, he's an efficiency passer, a guy

(27:45):
who picks his spots. He picks his risks, and like
last night, he didn't need to take any risks. At
the end of the game, Chris Jones goes up to
Jalen Hurts as he's taken the need end the game,
and Chris Jones goes like, bro, you only had two
hundred yards like as a team, and Jalen Hurts says,
shut the f up, like we won, right, So that's

(28:10):
kind of where the Chiefs saw right now, it doesn't
matter if we ran for or a total two hundred
You're sorry, that's for the Eagles, aren't They know it
doesn't matter if they have total two hundred yards and
A J. Brown looks yet again like not a viable
fantasy football player. They're playing real football and they're winning games.
As for the tush push, I kind of think this

(28:32):
is the last year because they went after it with
the wrong tool, like they were pulling the wrong lever
to try and get rid of it. And they said
it was about player safety. They didn't have any data
to back that up because it wasn't any more dangerous
than the sport was normally, and so what I think

(28:53):
they're gonna do this year? We heard, you know, our
very own rules analyst Dan Blandino talking about it on
the broadcast. It's such a hard lay to officiate, and
we started to see that impact the outcome of the
game where the Eagles were going early technically offside and
the refs weren't calling it because they couldn't see it happening.
So if that ultimately ends up being what like, let's

(29:16):
say it's the Packers again or whoever presents this at
the committee meeting, the owners meeting in the offseason, I
think that's probably the angle that could do it. And
if that's the one that does it, then then it's
probably out by twenty twenty six.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Let's talk about quickly the Ravens. I mean, it's going
forty points every week. And then in his work this
past week, Lamar Jackson has now passed Aaron Rodgers for
the highest passer rating in the NFL for career pass
but it can pass n what was Bill l'apollion said

(29:50):
he should tryal for wide.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
Receiver, but one on two point sixty five?

Speaker 3 (29:54):
What do you make of where Lamar Obviously, his numbers
were ridiculous last year. I thought he should have won
the MVP forty one touchdowns. What do you have four
pigs or whatever? What kind of a This offense is
scary to me because it looks like they take their
foot off the gas at different times in.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
The game too.

Speaker 10 (30:13):
Yeah, the offenses remains one of the best in the league.
The thing about the Ravens is not only is Lamar
Jackson sort of an anomaly as a player in that
he's maybe the best dual threat player we've ever seen,
but he's also anomalous in his history, which is badly.

(30:33):
He can't really beat Josh Allen right now, and he's
never really beaten Patrick Mahomes, and so I don't think
we take that Ravens team very seriously in the current
climate of the NFL, because you know, he's only beaten
Patrick Mahomes one time and I think nine total matchups
and he's lost his two last matchups against Josh Allen,

(30:56):
and so it's like, so it's such a strange situation
because Lamar.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
Takes his one win though well, once once you break through,
like I get that, Henry, but once you break through,
it's like everything, and like we talk about in the
NB at the time, the Pistons could never beat the
Celtics and then finally they break through and then they
win a couple of championships. Teams go through that, players
go through that, and you have to break through, and
I think that'll change. But I'm just saying when you

(31:21):
look at the numbers and what he's able to account
because we talked about last year, three of those four
interceptions Henry hit the receiver's hand.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
You know what I mean, It's incredible.

Speaker 10 (31:32):
Yeah, yeah, no, there's no doubt. Like to honor his
talents and what makes him special, which is everything. It's remarkable.
I Mean, we think a lot about how Josh Allen
has improved as a prospect, but so two has Lamar.
The way that he's become such a good pocket passer,
such a good scrambling passer. He's so efficient with his

(31:55):
with his body in that Like think about Josh Allen
and Patrick Mahomes and the way that they or their shoulder.
Do you ever see Lamar Jackson do that? And I
think the answer is no. And I think like that's
potentially why Lamar Jackson could last longer than Josh Allen
maybe could have a more grand legacy than josh Allen,
because it's like you're saying, it's only a matter of

(32:15):
time before he starts to beat Joshua, and he starts
to beat exactly and he outlasts them, and his numbers
are bananas, right, and we're looking at Yeah, then we're
looking at you know, I mean, we're looking at a
legacy that's not comparable to a mobile quarterback. I can't
even think of anyone.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
In the league of his own. Henri, We'll appreciate the
time as always, Henry, thank you man.

Speaker 10 (32:38):

you want to do right tonight I got the Chargers
minus three and a half. That's my best chargers taking
on the Raiders in Vegas. Come on, Rob, you got
this Vegae Raiders shirt on that you got him? I
got the Bucks plus two and a half.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
And that was not from uh Ross that birthday President.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
I want you to know. It was TJ Max the
closing one. It's the thought that counts blowout sales always.
I mean, Rob, if you got me a back of chips,
I behalf.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
You would be happy, won't you. Well, we'll have cheesecake
on the six.

Speaker 6 (34:59):
Rob, You're it's all wrong because I'm the kind of
person where if you say, hey, I got you this shirt,
but wait till you find out how much I paid
for I'd be more impressed than you got to get. Actually,
i'll give you that, rob Ada, you got this kick
ass shirt for six dollars that life I'd be pumped.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Okay, four ninety seven? Yes, a good deal. It's a
nice shirt. I told you was comfortable, said, you ain't
gotta explain nothing. There's a nice shirt. He's a Raider fan.
Looks good on and you got it right now because
he's felt it's fitting good like a Gazelle settled down.
All right here we been to the gym in six months.
Thought Steve was sitting next to me. Uh, there we go.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
And then I got the Yankees minus one and a
half during Minnesota taking on a twins.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
It's starting here, just starting so again.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Yankees minus one and a half, Tampa Bay plus two
and a half, and the Chargers minus three and a half.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
And remember, Calvin, I'm not telling you who to bet on.
I'm telling you who I bet on. All right, there
you have it last night's game man, Uh, Minnesota taking
on Oh well yeah, let me have ask let me
why not get to the tire play of the day,
Tyreck quick Taylor through the formation play fake on first
and ten. McCarthy wants to cut it loose?

Speaker 13 (36:06):
Is it peg?

Speaker 1 (36:07):
It is?

Speaker 2 (36:09):
And it's Billy Bowman Junior coming up with the interception.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
All right, there you have it right there, Falcons Radio,
which was I mean, the defense was getting after it.
Tire Reck Player of the Day four. Over forty years,
Tireck's been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive shit fast and free back
by Free Road has the protection with convenient installation options
like mobile tire installation, tirerack dot com. It is the
way tire buying should be. And I tell you what, man,

(36:36):
The Falcons defense was all over the Viking, specifically JJ
McCarthy and Kevin O'Connell as you know, the guy who
calls the offense. They got six sacks. JJ McCarthy's been half.
You know. Some of it is a lot of him
holding the ball. You see that between he Kaylen Williams.
Some of these young quarterbacks holding the ball too long.
You can't do that in the NFL. In the contrast,
you saw Michael Pennock junior and they you know, he

(36:56):
really gets the ball out fast. So JJ McCarthy is
gonna have an up and down. This is essentially Rob
his rookie year. You know, he didn't play all last year,
was injured. This is he gonna go through those growing
pains and right now some of those issues that you
would hope he was able to work out having played
last year. Just like most people, you get your shot,
you get to feel the game. He's working out in
real time with the Vikings, and this is the Vikings

(37:17):
team who kind of reset the clock by going fourteen
to three hoping that they could, you know, get near
that again, get back in the postseason and make some noise.
They're gonna have to have some lumps and some growing pains.
With JJ, you don't think so, No, not with Carson
Wentz coming in. Well, I'm serious, well with him be.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
But that can't be. That can't be what you wanted
though me. Oh no, no, But that's why you have
a backup quarterback. My point is they have a good
running game, they have good receivers, they have a good defense.
Like they're going good, They're gonna be in They're going
to have a good defense. They're going to be in games,
is what I'm trying to say to you. And that
and that's what JJ McCay. We saw Sam Darnell who
looked nearly dead in his NFL career.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
I'm not counting them out, and I get it.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
I actually think that, you know, with a veteran quarterback
who's you know, had a good run before he.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
Got hurt, I think they had a shot. Carson Wentz,
Carson Carston Wentz. I'm following them. Carson Sentz, Carson Carson Sentz.
Win has anybody except Carson Wentz's family had this much
optimism and Carson Wentz because you know what, we saw
him make any sense they had and you have no hope.
But now they got Carson Wentzon gip a job.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
We've seen it over and over. You keep seeing it
with a quarterbacks case. Keenum did it with the Vikings.
I'm just saying, you get quarterbacks who come into a system,
they're the backup. That's why you have them, car but
that they're not falling off the cliff. But Carson Wentz
is what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
If you are throwing the hope on Carson Wentz, boy,
I tell you we need more Rob Parkers in life
to believe in you. Because Carson Wentz went since wins
is what I'm calling him. Have we believed in him?
The Viking fans are sick right now. JJ looks like
he's going through it because again he's young. And then
Carson Wentz is coming in and youre telling me this
is the future. No, No, Surrey, Bob
