on the hot seat. Rob G, it's on the hot seat.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Just because you had another baby, don't mean we taking
it easy on you either.

Speaker 5 (02:08):
Rob that's right, because you actually didn't have the baby.
He didn't have the baby. All he did was sit around.
You got to relax with that all though. Okay, Rob G,
I got your back on it. I do have to relax. G.
You don't have to do anything. You didn't do anything.
It took you two seconds.

Speaker 6 (02:21):
I had to sleep on a very uncomfortable catch.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Preach, preach, and then you had to be in a
come up, breathe baby, Come on, baby, push. I'm right
there with your baby. You know I'm all right. Question
three of it. I know you had three. Did you
look or didn't you look?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
This? Robbed gee? Rob you I vowed I would never look.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
But here's the thing for you expecting fathers listening right now.
I've got so many friends who told me, don't look,
but you can'tnot. The funniest part is we act like
the women are women Yama or something, meaning they're that
long that you can just be that. It's way on her, dude,
if you're at her head, her face, trying to be
there and comfort her, her her legs are back of

(03:01):
her head, what you think is just over your right shoulder.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
It and you don't have no choice.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
And then a lot of guys don't look. They can't now,
and the doctor will have you involved. Hey fuck, okay,
hold this can you do? And then you just and
once you look, you can't unlook. It's like, you know
what I mean, You're like, okay, So yeah, I vowed
I would never have a.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
Look because your friends told you ahead of time, those
comedians and you know you look, but I did, and
then I was all in at that point.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
I was down there like Blue forty two Blue, Like
I was all in at that point. Man, you're crazy,
that's ain't right. But I'm still riding.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
And that's how I got the three of them, Alex
and one last thing before we get this show, roller,
that's what we're gonna welcome in the Odd Couple crew.
Of course Rob g is our producer, Alex is our engineer.
Monty Bolanos is at the anchor desk. She'll keep us
updated throughout the show. Sponsored over, that's right. And of
course Elijah is our social media ever heard of him?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
There you go, and real quick. I talked about it before.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
I know you thought when I said I was buying
this shirt that cost six ninety nine that that was
gonna be your Christmas. I actually have it on. I'm
wearing it, you are, and it don't look that bad
from Ross, does it?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
This is a but what? Okay?

Speaker 1 (04:14):
So if you follow him, what is it? Rob Parker
MLB bro go look at he posted on the gram?

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Do you go in like? Why were you in Ross? Anyway?

Speaker 1 (04:22):
I'm looking for a deal. I'm looking for I'm looking
for something just because that's your fix, that's your thing.
So just like video games, some people yamble, some people
do crack. You know everybody's doing here. I am talking
about Ross. Then we get telling a crack. Well say
it ties to that. It's for our audience who will
be watching on our YouTube show. This is really the
hot couple you didn't want to get the hamburger, the

(04:44):
double burger for McDonald because.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
It was six dollars, so the chicken sandwich is only five.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
And so therefore you you you you kept yourself from
enjoying a good hamburger because you didn't want to spend
extra donals. I don't want to spend the extra dollar,
even though you just saved it ross. And here I
am spending twenty one dollar on a salad that's just because.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Of that.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Tub that's in. That's what you're paying that fancy Tom.
All right, it's a modern kale salad. Step your game up, bro.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
All right, it's a worship Wednesday. But let's start here
the NFL. Uh and let's do this.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Do we have rob g what's the news of the
day on Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 6 (05:23):
Trevor Lawrence, franchise quarterback of the Jacksonville Jaguars, who famously
got decapitated on Sunday yes by a Houston, Texas defender,
has been placed on injured reserve. He'll be out at
least four games, and by all indications, given the way
the jack season.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
Is gone, he will not be out. He will not
be returning the rest of the season. With four games ago,
doesn't make sense. Now, rob G, where are they in
the sweepstakes? Because they're two and ten correct, they currently.

Speaker 6 (05:50):
Have the worst record in the NFL, which means they
also have the best chances of securing the number one
overall pick and they'll come in NFL Draft. This would
be the second time since they've drafted Lawrence that the
Jags would be picking number one. Famously, in twenty twenty two,
they took Trayvon Walker out of Georgia over Aiden Hutchinson,

(06:12):
which guys I haven't watching are very excited about. Yep,
Desroy Lank you over Sauce Gardner over a bunch of
all pro level guys. So they're really good at drafting players.
But here's the question, guys, Trevor Lawrence obviously just got
paid this past offseason big time, big money. But given
what you've seen from him on the field, the inconsistency,
given that this is now the second time since they've

(06:34):
drafted him that they're picking number one, has Trevor Lawrence
shown you enough as the Jacksonville Jaguars for an office
to pass on a quarterback yet again in this upcoming draft?

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Abs a freakinglutely yes, and there's a couple of things
going on here.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Kelvin.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Tell me, first of all, you've already made that financial commitment.
Number two, Jacksonville has more holes than a golf course, Okay,
can we They got plenty of holes that need to
be filled, thanks Alex. So going to get another quarterback
that either you're not gonna play next year or whatever,

(07:18):
as you bring him along because you already got Trevor
Lawrence there with the big money and it's only gonna
cost you money to get out of that. You gotta
go trade down, get some picks and then try to
plug up some of the glaring holes that this team has.
I just to get a quarterback to me, if you're

(07:39):
the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Makes no sense. And I'm not saying that Trevor Lawrence is.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
It doesn't have some blame right or it's gonna be
a Hall of Fame quarterback or whatever. But we have
seen some positives and some stuff. That's the reason why
they signed them to a deal. And you remember that's
still living off of that playoff comeback. You remember against
Chargers when were they down twenty seven to nothing at
the half?

Speaker 1 (08:03):
What was the score like something like that something like,
and by the way, he contributed to them being down.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
No, he had a bad first half, but he had
a terrific second half and they had one of the
biggest comeback wins ever in the postseason.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
So you're telling me he's Matt Flynn.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
So no, throw six court touchdowns against the lowly Lions
and they't getting a bunch of money from the Seahawks
Because I thought ierban Meyer stumped his growth his first year.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Ierban Meyer was, Yeah, he was too busy playing doing
lap dances.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Yeah, thirty for thirty on him is gonna be I mean,
I know he's been in a couple of them, but
I mean the ones focused strictly on him will be interesting.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
So I'm not there.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
I'm not And I don't know the quarterback who's the
over overwhelming that's that's gonna change your franchise.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
So yeah, this year, it isn't like Andrew Lux coming out.
So I understand that there are a couple of good ones.
You know, Cam Cameron Ward out of Miami is expected
to be, you know, one of the first to go,
if not. Shud Or Sander is gonna be one of
the first top five six seven players to go as
well as a quarterback, so you have those options. And
for me, everything you just mentioned is why I'm looking

(09:09):
to move on because I've given him. If I'm the organization,
we've we've done this experiment. Now this is the fourth
year of this experiment. He hasn't wiled me per se.
He hasn't been great, and there are other folks out
there available.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
So to me, I'm gonna do a justin Field.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Situation, you know, call up and get a bunch of
draft picks and say, hey, team who needs a quarterback?
Give me a bunch of the draft picks so I
can maybe draft.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
What you're talking about when justin Field you're talking about
what when he was?

Speaker 1 (09:39):
When he when the Pittsburgh speard on pick for him
to get? Who am I missing? Then, dude, give a
bunch of picks in it the first the first round,
the first pick, Bryce Young, that's what.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
You call up when you got from the Bears, like
a fourth round pick.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Give me the picks.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Hopefully the way it works out depending on what you
give me, Like if I make you give me a
first a fourth in the future or whatever, I can
get a quarterback and then to as you mentioned, I
can start to fill some holes because they're not overly
wowing you a talent down there in Jacksonville. But to me,
I've seen enough that I'm okay moving on and I'll
be off of that money. So hopefully I can get
a quarterback that's good. If I were to get a

(10:19):
Shador Sanders, if I were to get a camera Ward,
and I got a good quarterback who I want a
rookie deal with, so I can start to fill these
holes with guys. I may have to pay money. He
may have to pay money to a tackle, may have
to pay money to a linebacker, may have to pay
money to a top cornerback. And I got this hopefully
good rookie quarterback because I've seen enough. He hasn't been
that spectacular. Eleven touchdowns, seven interceptions this year. You look

(10:43):
at his first two years twelve touchdowns, seventeen interceptions last year,
if you want to go, but he played way more
games twenty one touchdown, fourteen interceptions.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
He's not been that great.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
I'm not saying he's a bad quarterback, but I'm okay
venturing off now and say, hey, we did it four years,
thank you for your time.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
Move on.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
I'm gonna get a new young quarterback on a rookie
deal who I believe may be comparable to you, if not,
maybe even better. And there, Yeah, I'm going to take
that risk. I've seen this experiment. Well here's a problem.
Rob G's gonna explain it to you.

Speaker 6 (11:15):
Well, there's two albums you can go down in this
hypothetical situation. Both of them would involve a post June
one situation because whatever reason, the way the NFL calendar works,
if you do it in February, it's worth more than
it is in June. If they were to just cut him,
which they would never do. Of course, now that that
would never the dead cap number would be over two
hundred million dollars across.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
That's not even not gonna happen. That's that's NFL suicide.

Speaker 6 (11:39):
So if you were to trade him, though, and again
people still think Trevor Lawren's got that strong jaw, he's
six five's got beautiful hair.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
Remember we saw him at though he's a specimen at
the super Bowl. Like you look at him and go
like like, but I feel like we were doing that
since even colleges. It's like not yeah, but how much
more am I going to be just sitting.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
There like, so if you were to trade him post
you and one for next season, he would only count
thirty million dollars towards your cap, which will be spread
out over four years in dead cap.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
All right, he gotta go.

Speaker 5 (12:11):
So eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Where are you?

Speaker 5 (12:17):
My phone's ringing? Hello, Trevor Ars nice for sale? All right,
Trevor Lawrence, are you moving on? Are you gonna hold
on to him and finally get some picks?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (12:29):
And and fill the holes there in Jacksonville. There's a
lot of work to do. It's nice to get a
shiny new toy as a quarterback, but if you don't
have the other stuff you have Bryce.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
Young all over again looks good. By the way, most
seasons over now rice been boned when it mattered. They
couldn't make they they couldn't do anything like that.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
You gotta always be careful because once the season's over,
things all of a sudden, what you made a season?

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Like two three weeks he's been playing really well. Left
still cook? Left that man cook he ain't cooking. That's
that's an instant TV day. If you don't hurry, I'm
let the phone call. I'm getting a phone car right now.
Get you ever? Yeah, he comes with their hair too,
Get a thor hair eight seven.

Speaker 5 (13:07):

Speaker 5 (14:29):
If you're asking me eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox,
Let's start with Dion in Texas.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Dion?

Speaker 6 (14:39):
Hey?

Speaker 8 (14:39):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (14:40):
Guys?

Speaker 8 (14:40):
How are you loving the show?

Speaker 9 (14:41):
Hey?

Speaker 8 (14:41):
Guys who I'm doing?

Speaker 9 (14:42):
Well?

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Appreciate you doing?

Speaker 8 (14:43):
Loving the show? Listen to the podcast during the Thanksgiving
week that they called in but I heard everything, great show.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Guys, Thanks yeah, holidays to you.

Speaker 8 (14:53):
Thank you very much about this. You guys loving that
music you plan as well. But back to Trevor Lawrence. Hey, guys,
I'm with and he got to go. It's time for
a change of scenery. I think he moved somewhere else,
you know, he might play better but to be honest
with you, the entire quarterback class has been a bus
and he's leading that bus community. So the thing is,

(15:14):
Jacksonville's kind of silly. They gave him this big bag,
and they gave a bag to Tour and Jordan Love
and that's why Dak got his money. So he's part
of the reason why that got his big payday. But
I think a change of scenery, he'll be Okay, he's savageable,
so he still got potential.

Speaker 5 (15:29):
But they that mounting thing is that they got other
holes that they need to fill as well.

Speaker 8 (15:34):
Absolutely, So that's the that's the problem.

Speaker 5 (15:36):
You go get a quarterback and then you can't protect them,
you know what I mean, that's.

Speaker 8 (15:39):
True, you're right. But we saw the potential that when
they when they went and they let they came back
on the Chargers and they went to Kansas City gave
him a pretty good fight. What happened from that team,
you know? So yeah, he regress from Yeah.

Speaker 5 (15:51):
That was true because I thought they would take the
next step the next year after coming off that playoff run,
and it never materialized. They got off to a bad
start and it never got there. Dion, thanks for appreciate
how about Drew Drew in New Jersey. Drew, what exit
you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 10 (16:10):
I mean, I'm.

Speaker 11 (16:11):
Sticking with him unless someone is foolish enough to give
me two number ones for him, which I don't think.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
I'll just say anybody would. I wouldn't say John Away,
that's right, Drew. I would make that trade.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Are you kidding?

Speaker 11 (16:25):
I mean, if I can get him, cool, but I don't.
I'm looking at this draft. I'm not like, I know
it's a hot thing to put Sador Sanders, but I
don't even think he's the best quarterback. I would go
with Jaylen bill Row where I go with Cam.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Word, you know, and let me say, but Drew, you
know what? But he Drew Here.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
Here's the point, though, The idea that there's not a
clear cut number one tells you why you wouldn't do it.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
You know what I'm saying, Remember what would skim me?
But remember we're saying trade him. The meaning I'm go
trade him for uh, you know, someone else already in
the league, and then go get the Phillip other holes.
It doesn't necessarily mean that I have to be drafting
the quarterback. It just means I need to move on,
start to accumulate pieces. And again, whether you draft a
quarterback trade maybe you feel Justin Fields could be your

(17:15):
guy or someone else. But it's just time to move on.
And it doesn't mean he has to be a terrible
quarterback now TV. He might go and be nice somewhere.
But if for us sometimes it's good part like a relationship.
You go be great, I'll go be great. Thanks for
the call, appreciate it. What about Warren in Australia? Here's
John under what's up? Man?

Speaker 2 (17:32):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (17:35):
Good morning man, how are you all know?

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Is it nighttime there?

Speaker 9 (17:41):
It's twenty five fight in the morning.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Oh man, we appreciate you. Listen, Thank you. I can
trust out your eye.

Speaker 9 (17:48):
Bet is Trevor Lawrence Jags end up with And so
the writers have number two? Who the writers give up
to have one on two? Yet saying this in Travishanta
m there's.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
A good point.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
And then well you want to go to full trifecta.
Perhap Dion come to but but no, but that would
be it.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
But if the raiders right, that's the point is like, hey,
you could have number one and maybe the Raiders are
dumb enough to give you a you know, a lot more,
and then you still have the number two pick, and
then you could do something else with it with the.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Extra pick, and then Antonio Pierre's gonna be sitting with
us because they gonna get coach Prime.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
Dre in Michigan. You're on the Fox Sports radio. What's happening?

Speaker 10 (18:28):
What up those fellas? Y'all? Good?

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Oh sir? Yes, good?

Speaker 10 (18:32):
Good? Good Me personally, I think a win win situation.
I try to trade him to the Jets because it
be a win for him because you're going in with
two good receivers. They got they miss just missing the quarterback.
We see how bad Aaron Rodgerson playing, and then the
Dads can get a they first, maybe a first and
a second or something like that, you know what I'm saying,
or even another player or something. But I think that'd
be a good situation for him.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
That was a look at you, Look at you know
what you are, Dre.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
You acting like a marriage counselor you over here finding
win wins for both parties involved.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Look at you. We need more Dre's out here.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
I can see that because they get they got a
nice receiving core over there. Uh he can go and
thrive and be in a big city, big market, and
then they can rebuild because they need.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
It's just not working.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
And it doesn't mean again that Trevor Lawrence is is
trash or you know, he's horrible. It's just it's not
working out. I need something else, somebody else. Maybe there's
somebody else.

Speaker 10 (19:16):
Kelvin, Hey, I looked. I looked too. Both of my kids.
I look too, bro.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
See yeah, and you just cad not right. It's just
like it's Nick's right there. I'm just saying, man.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Listen, Yeah, you treated it right after they all right?
Then you went through all this, rob G, did you
even look? Did you tell us you looked?

Speaker 2 (19:37):
He didn't look how thank you, rob G. He's a
smart man.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
I don't even know he ain't looking. Yeah, well good, Yeah,
it's a it's a while. It's a while, rob G.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Oh, congratulate baby, Oh my god, that's so nice.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
That first show, My my doctor had me all in.
She came in with cowboy like combat boots on. It
was like were about to deliver a baby. I was like,
hold on, lady, whoa whoa, And she had me all in, way.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
As a matter of fact, I'm still waiting for a check.

Speaker 6 (20:03):
Let me clarify, okay, because this is the second one. Okay,
the first one I did look okay, which is why
the second one I knew better than to look again.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
If that makes sense, No, that makes all the sense,
all right, all right, it does make you're.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Like, I've seen the experience. I'm good. I don't need
to see it again.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
You know how squeamish Rob is. I he could not
even remotely handled.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
I already know. You can't even watch some I don't watch.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
Sometimes we'll be watching the NBA on tn T or
something in a TNT movie.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
You'll come on afterwards and little turn the chan out.
I don't want to see it.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
It'll be like, uh, they got a splinter, just a
little splinter in her thumb and a drop of blood.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
You're ready to pass out.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
All.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Matter of fact, not even just the rest of the show,
rest of our friendship.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
It will be perfect, okay. And then Alex.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Remember take that out when I when I mess it up, Alex,
just taking one coming to you live from sorrreck dot
com Studios. It is the odd couple of Rock Parker
Kevin Washington. On a worship Wednesday, Charlie Weiss, four time
Super Bowl champion Charlie Weiss Senior on Twitter is joining
the show. Now football college and at failed Charlie, what's

(21:25):
going on?

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Happy Holidays?

Speaker 9 (21:27):
Same to you. You know, we're in that stage in
between Thanksgiving and Christmas, So we're in We're in that.
We're in that time, that time of year, bowl games
and ball games, playoffs, playoffs in college and you know,
coming down the home stretch in the NFL. So it's
an exciting time as a football fan.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
No doubt. Charlie. You had your Twitter going up.

Speaker 5 (21:48):
You weren't happy about Alabama leap frogging.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
You know, they always like the brand.

Speaker 5 (21:54):
What what's the issue with Alabama? You think a three
loss team doesn't deserve to get the respect that they're getting.

Speaker 9 (22:01):
Well, I'm not. Look at there's some teams in the
playoffs that have lost one or two times that haven't
haven't played anybody, right, I mean, so I don't think
that record necessarily is the key thing. But when you're
determining between teams that are right on the bubble, I mean, like, Okay,

(22:23):
my kid coaches at ol Mess. So they lost three
games that they shouldn't have lost, but they lost three
games this year. But I look at them in Alabama,
they have four common opponents. Okay, Ole Miss lost LSU
in the fourth and overtime. Alabama beat LSU, Old Miss

(22:46):
beat Oklahoma. Alabama got the crap kicked out of them
by Oklahoma. I mean, Alabama beach Georgia by a few points,
almost kicks the crap out of Old Mess.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
I mean kicks the Crapeoria.

Speaker 9 (23:00):
It's the crap out of Georgia. Okay, Alabama squeezes by
South Carolina, almost kicks the crap out of South Carolina.
So I'm looking at these the common opponents and saying,
can you explain to me why Alabama's in overall mess
right now? Now? If you're a Miami fan, you know

(23:21):
you're saying, we have two losses to help with you
guys who have three losses, why are we out of this?

Speaker 2 (23:27):
Right?

Speaker 9 (23:27):
But I'm just I'm just looking at those at those
two teams, realistically to South Carolina. South Carolina fans have
the same, have a very similar gripe, but the difference
is they you know, they lost to the to the
two teams they ended up being ahead of them, So
you know, it's a little tougher to argue. But because

(23:48):
Bama and Ole Miss didn't didn't play each other, I
look at common opponents and to me, it's a slam dog.
It should be Old Miss, not Alabama.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Well, if this was like a court, it's got a
football court, and you know, I might have to side
with you, you know, as being the prosecutor here of
the defendant. Let me ask you this, Charlie. Weis again
our guest here. So if you just painted a picture,
you mentioned South Carolina in picture. Miami can paint a picture,
and so on and so forth. Do you think it's
gonna come down to where we're gonna have just realize

(24:18):
it comes down to logos, It comes down the name
and notoriety. Hey, Alabama's a bigger force than Old Miss.
So of course we're gonna put Alabama. And do we
just have to accept that as we move forward?

Speaker 9 (24:28):
No, I think there'll be four more teams in and
it'll go to sixteen, there won't be any buys, and
they'll raise some of these some of these questions. Now,
no matter how many teams you have in the playoffs,
there are always going to be the teams on the
bubble that complain about not getting in. It doesn't make
a difference what the number is. You know, there's there're

(24:48):
always going to be that. But I think that I
think that after a couple of years, I think that
the buys will be gone and I think they'll lead.
They'll add four more teams and they'll go to sixteen,
and that every everyone will playing. You know, in that
first week, I don't think anyone will be sitting.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Charlie. Uh.

Speaker 5 (25:05):
Let me ask you about the Pittsburgh Steelers and Russell Wilson.
A lot of people thought, uh, you know after Sean
Payton Jennison him out of Denver, that he was washed,
he was he was finished. He's had a really good
year with Pittsburgh so far. They're rolling. Are they a
contender for the Super Bowl? With their defense and now

(25:26):
having a quarterback that's been the two Super Bowls in
one one?

Speaker 9 (25:30):
Well, the start off with Tomlins, never had a losing record,
never had a losing record. It's remarkable if you think
about it.

Speaker 5 (25:39):
It is like one year that you just you know
what I mean, injuries, something could happen, sure.

Speaker 9 (25:45):
Okay, but the mentality and the and the Steelers. The Steelers'
mentality is run the ball and play good defense. And
you want to know something, if you could run the
ball and play good defense and you play in crappy weather,
which they do there, I mean, and you're always going
to You're always going to be in the game. You know,
you're always going to be in the game, So to

(26:06):
I think they have a chance. Yes, I mean, if
you're looking at the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Buffalo Bills,
you know that are both cold weather teams. Do I
think they're as good as Buffalo? No, Okay, but you
can't write Pittsburgh off because they run a football and
they play good defense.

Speaker 5 (26:26):
The Jacksonville Jaguars, Trevor Lawrence is probably not going to
play again. He's going on the IrH. We just had
a conversation. I said that I'd stick with him. I'd
use the top pick if I got it, or move
down and try to get some other picks to fill
some holes of players. Where are you on Trevor Lawrence.
Have you seen enough? Do you stick with him or
would you try to move them? Or or most of

(26:49):
what has happened there to me seems to be organizational,
not just on him.

Speaker 9 (26:56):
Well, I got a backtrack on him when he came
out of college. You know, I do work on all
these quarterbacks. I thought he was fabulous.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
Everybody raved about him. Yes, I mean I thought.

Speaker 9 (27:06):
I thought he was Andrew lock That's who I thought,
you know, I thought, you know, I thought I thought
he'd be that type of special quarterback. And then he
came into a disaster to start off with, and then
and then Doug comes in, and then you know, then
their offensive line was a pile of crap, and the
receivers were kind of shaky, and their defense, and I

(27:29):
think that there there, I think that Trevor Lawrence is
much better than the Trevor Lawrence were saying. But in
this lead the proofs in the pudding, there are some
There are some guys that come in highly touted and
that don't do anything, and then a few years down
the road they get in the right situation. I'll put

(27:49):
Baker Mayfield as an example of that.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
Cleveland too, quick. I never felt good about that, Charlie.

Speaker 9 (27:56):
I mean, they got they got Baker out of Cleveland,
they got big for Baker out of Carolina. Now he's
settling in the tama and you watch Baker play. Would
you want Baker here?

Speaker 2 (28:07):
I would?

Speaker 9 (28:08):
I would, so I wouldn't. I wouldn't be in any
big hurry. Now, look at they gave Trevor this long,
this big contract, so he's not going anywhere, right. I mean,
they're not getting rid of Trevor Lawrence. But I do
think they're going to blow the whole thing up. And
I think that you know, it'll be whoever the new
guy in. I think that'll be their problem. That's what

(28:29):
I think.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Hey, Charlie, Charlie watsh. I guess the odd couple, Rob Parker,
Kevin Washington. You know you just mentioned working with quarterbacks,
that's been what you've done for so long and seeing
things from an offensive mindset help me understand what's going
on with the I guess you could say non explosiveness
of Patrick Mahomes. Is there something in his mechanics He said,
I got to kind of get back to the fundamentals.

(28:51):
But also some will say he just doesn't have the
weapons around him right now.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Once guys get healthy and come back.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Towards in the red zone, awful And yeah, so are
you saying things that maybe he's lost his fundamental sum
or is it just a matter of, hey, they don't
have enough explosiveness on the outside.

Speaker 9 (29:08):
I think that one of the things that people don't
talk about very much is Pacheco him not being there,
you know, him being hurt this year. I think it's
a lot bigger influence than people realize, because when you
have a guy who's running the ball the way that kid,
you know, he came in unheralded in the league. He

(29:29):
was a nobody and he was a key part of
the of the of their offense. But you have to
understand they're head coach is smart enough to realize you
play complimentary football in this league if you win, and
there's different styles. I was with the Patriots for a
bunch of years. Some years we played, you know, very

(29:51):
conservatively on offense and played to our defense some years.
Some years it was you play to the strength, and
the strength ended up being especially as Tommy started getting
older and more mature and having more weapons around him.
Most of that happened after I left. But I think
that organizationally, you know, injuries come into play, but they

(30:13):
come into play with no one's feeling sorry for the
Chiefs with injuries. But I think that not having your
stud running back in there for a good portion of
the year really puts more pressure on the passing game,
especially when you don't have you know that many front
line front line receivers on your squad.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Last thing, Charlie, I want to yes or no answer
from you.

Speaker 5 (30:38):
Bill Belichick will be a head coach in the NFL
next season?

Speaker 2 (30:43):
Yes or no?

Speaker 9 (30:45):
Well, the answer is yes. If I have I would
not do it. I mean, I mean, he's living a
great life right now.

Speaker 5 (30:52):
That doesn't he want the all time wins record. I
mean it's within his rights.

Speaker 9 (30:56):
I mean I can't. He's a football historian, okay, and
even though he's in his seventies, it's not like he's
in his seventies. I mean, I can't see there's any
way this guy doesn't doesn't come back and coach for
in the right if the right situation presents itself. So
if you give me yes or no, Yes, Now, if

(31:18):
you were saying for me, if I'm sitting here watching
how happy he looks and all the stuff he's doing.
I live love be local because he obviously, he obviously
doesn't need the money. So this is about this is
about the money. He looks happier than I've ever seen.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
Yeah, he's happy. He's got a twenty three year old
girl for a bunch of money.

Speaker 9 (31:37):
Let's not go there.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
Let's go there.

Speaker 9 (31:41):
Okay, let's not go there. He just looks, he looks happy.
As a matter of fact, I text him at Thanksgiving
and I said, you know, it's really it's really fun
to watch you, watch it on TV and see you
with a smile on your face, cracking jokes because most
people I know that guy, right, most most people don't
know that guy.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
No, doubt you so much. I appreciate your time. Happy
holiday holidays, Charlie, same to.

Speaker 9 (32:07):

Last night on check O City, I'm now eighty five,
eighty three and two.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
We continue to climb northward. All right.

Speaker 5 (35:43):
Tonight we talked about the Patrins just and how disappointing
they are bumps. I took them tonight minus two and
a half at the Brooklyn Nets.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
I just felt like they had that bad loss. They
just haven't played well.

Speaker 5 (35:56):
They need to win. I got the Patriers minus two
and a half. I got the Heat minus two and
a half. Taking on the Lakers. Lebron came out, he
heard sir he today.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Yeah, he came out to think three for three at
the time. They look very delivered too.

Speaker 5 (36:10):
He was like, got six points, but that's it. It's
eleven to six early on the Heat over the Lake.

Speaker 1 (36:17):
You should have took. Did you take the Celtics anything?
They're destroying the Pistons right now?

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Yeah, I did not take that.

Speaker 5 (36:24):
I took the Magic minus five and a half over
the Philadelphia seventy six ers who won last night for
me last night, boy, some people were happy, including you,
no doubt. So here we go Magic minus five and
a half, Heat minus two and a half and the
Pacers minus two and a half. And remember, Calvin, what's that.
I'm not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling

(36:45):
you who I bet on.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
Yeah, we really had a couple of minutes here. But
going back to we had Charlie, what Charlie You're I mean?
He had his panties in a bunch over this? He
did have his pennies over Why you gotta spa? How
you know he don't have on some some timy John underwear?

Speaker 2 (36:58):
You know what I mean? You know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (36:59):
It's proverbial, you know what you mean. But also know
we were talking about too, and I've never said a
woman's had of panties in a bunch. It's always a cold.
Could you say that, Manzi? The resident woman here? Could
a man say that? And you would be offended? No,
you would be offended if I said that, wouldn't you?

Speaker 2 (37:15):
Alex hit a Manzi for us? I would not like that.
See right, I know what.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
She gave you the fry. I never said it to
a female, So then you say it to the person
who's to a god.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
Don't you get what I'm saying. I think it's funny
to a guy?

Speaker 9 (37:31):
All right?

Speaker 1 (37:31):
Well, Manzi, don't get your boxers in a bunch? Okay, yes, yes, yes,
there you go, get.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
It exactly exactly, all right, good to know.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
Let me write that down. Noteed was walking around at
work the other day. Hey, hey, Nancy, don't get your
panties into much. Hey Kelvin, I we have to speak
to you about some things. You've been speaking of undergarments lately.
You know, it's all right, good to know, but no,
he did have his panties, underwear and a bunch talking
about how listen, you and I were talking about this earlier.
You are they're gonna they're gonna give you a Boise

(38:02):
State a well, you know, maybe some other one er
team that's in there, and then they're gonna make it
like everybody's got a shot.

Speaker 2 (38:08):
You're gonna get SEC and Big ten. That's it.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
And at some point they might as well just give
us the SEC Big Ten Championship Classic and call that
the National Championship game, because that's essentially what you're gonna
get and ultimately too, Rob, that's what people want.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
Wow, it's twenty three nine, Miami. I got the microphone
right in front the score? Is it that bad? Is
that bad?

Speaker 9 (38:28):
Who?

Speaker 2 (38:29):
Yeah? I can only see the nine? Wow. Ooh that's
all right? Come on, Lebron, come on, come on. That
looking good right now?

Speaker 1 (38:38):
No, not at all? Our number two on this word.
That's right, Mark McCarthy. Somebody wants them to stick around,
will tell you who it's.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
America good. I like that.
