it just.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
Because you're a man guy.

Speaker 1 (04:13):

Speaker 5 (04:24):
My goodness, there you go.

Speaker 6 (04:25):
All right, Uh let's get started, and uh rob g no,
I should say this. Do you have summer plans? Let
me get that first. And it included a new job.

local job market to find you a new role, that's right,
just call the local Express employment professionals. Go to expresspros

(04:47):
dot com and Express never charges job seekers a fee.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
All right, what was that? Okay?

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Starting to you and me? Okay, i' was sure he
told me. Threw up the sign and said it's time
to crush rock. Okay, Yeah, was that what that was?

Speaker 6 (05:04):
Does he know that this is a year coming up
on the anniversary of seven years of the outcome only one.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
With Kelvin Washington. I want you to know that. And
look at you.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
You ain't got one extra gray hair this whole times
for the best year of your life. Look at you,
your light on your feet, you're smiling. You're out here, Dayton.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
I'm all right, let's not get carried away, all right,
rob G.

Speaker 6 (05:24):
The Athletic, of course, before the NFL season, we got
the big kickoff of course, the Cowboys and Eagles, and
the big game in Philadelphia and weather I guess right
expected to have rain, so probably a lower scoring game.
I'm just kind of throwing that out. But anyway, rob G.
Interesting take from front office and general manager people right

(05:47):
about this upcoming NFL season.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
That's right. The Athletic.

Speaker 9 (05:50):
Mike Sandel front of the show did a preseason survey
of eight anonymous executives previewing both the NFC and the AFC,
and there was something that was said about a certain
NFC team that was right up our alley.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
Here we go.

Speaker 9 (06:06):
They ranked them in a power ranking system. Everybody assigned.
Hey I'm one, two, three, four, five, sixty seven. The
averages were as follows for the top three. Number one,
no surprise, the Philadelphia Eagles, number two, and a mild
surprise the Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
That is a mild surprise.

Speaker 9 (06:22):
Number three, Yeah, number three, Rob Parker's Detroit Lions. Now,
them being number three is not much to sneeze that,
and you know, it is what it is. It's kind
of right where you'd expect they may or may not be.
Here's what is surprising, though. The reason why they fell
the number three in the power rankings is because one
anonymous executive had the Detroit Lions ranked as the eleventh

(06:45):
best team in the NFC.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
Here's the rationale quote.

Speaker 9 (06:49):
I refuse to believe they keep rolling after losing two
starters on the offensive line and their two highest paid
assistant coaches, Calvin Washington. You are on the record as
saying Detroit is going to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (07:02):
What is this guy smoking? Read that first sentence that
that person said. Read that again.

Speaker 9 (07:07):
I refuse to believe they keep rolling after losing two
starters on the offensive line.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
What did you say two weeks?

Speaker 10 (07:14):
In?

Speaker 1 (07:14):
About two weeks it'll be our one year anniversary, you
and I doing this.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
So I know Rob Parker talking when I hear it.
They called you, they called you. I know it.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
I know one person and the one person rob Gie
didn't have him. Fifth didn't have him. Six Okay, I
can understand fifth, sixth a little slide. I get that.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
Eleventh, Rob Parker.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
I'm convinced that go Why you can't look at me
in my eye? They called you, Rob Parker, and if
they didn't call you, well they get there a hater,
they're trolling. It's Aaron Glenn who is trolling. Or it's
Ben Johnson trolling, or it's a mad x of Dan Cavill.
Maybe he beat him up when he was playing. Maybe
he beat him up in the streets. Maybe he stole
his girlfriend. Because there's no way you can put the

(07:57):
Detroit Lions eleventh in the NFC. You couldn't even put
them eleventh in the entire NFL. That doesn't make any sense.
So I'm convinced you voted for them. Now I digress.
Let me tell you why the Lions are going back
or have gone to the Super Bowl going back. They
should have win a couple of years ago so they

(08:17):
didn't make it. I would concede losing two coordinators. It's
a big deal. I'm not gonna ask nothing to sneeze
that that's a big deal. However, the culture center is there,
Dan Gamble Campbell is still there.

Speaker 5 (08:32):
Okay, the team is there.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Offensively, they have probably better offensive weapons than just about
anybody in the league. They were the number one offense
in the NFL. Here's the caveat people forget about. They
were the number seven scoring defense. They bent, but they
ain't break. And they finally broke when they had too
many defensive players unhealthy and hurt. Well, they got most
of those back, they lost a couple, and they got

(08:54):
most importantly Aiden Hutchinson back arguably the MVP, yes, not defensive,
the MVP prior before getting injured. So you're looking at
the number one rushing game, a top two three rushing game.
You're looking at one of the better quarterbacks, and you're
also getting looking at a defense as good, and you're
looking at weapons and skilled players all over the place
who are young and in their prime. So to me

(09:17):
and the NFC is open. You got the Eagles, I'll
give you that. Their raigning champ. They deserve our respect.
Other than that, the NFC is wide open. It's not
like I gotta go through the three of the AFC, right,
I gotta beat the Bills.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
They gotta beat the Ravens. They gotta beat the Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
You know, you get through the NFC, you give yourself
a chance to get to the super Bowl, and then
you got a shot once you're there.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
So that is why the Lions are going.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
They're mad at people like you and your vote, putting
disrespect on their name, and they're absolutely gonna come back
with the vengeance.

Speaker 6 (09:47):
Okay, so there was your public service announcement by a
Lions fan. Now I'll give you real analyst and analyst,
a real NFL analysts.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
That was not me.

Speaker 6 (10:00):
And I understand you keep holding on to this because
they disappoint you every year they were supposed to the
way they blew out the forty nine ers in the
first half, choked down that two years ago. Last year
they have a rookie quarterback at home nine and a
half point favorites. They were fifteen and two, nine and

(10:20):
a half point favorites at home and they lose. There's
no way that the Lions are going to do anything close.
The executive who was being honest knows how this league runs.
Dan Campbell's not He might be the front man. But
the reason that they turned into a better team was
the two coordinators who were really good at their job.

(10:42):
And Ben Johnson's loss, whether you want to agree or not,
is going to be huge for them. And here's the
other part that you talk about, Oh yeah, some defensive
players are coming back and this, and did they change
the quarterback because Jared Golf turned into Jared Tennis when
it came time for the biggest game of the.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
Year, the four turnovers.

Speaker 6 (11:03):
That's why the Rams got rid of him, despite him
taking the Rams to the Super Bowl. The reason the
Rams got rid of Jared Golf is because he turns
in efforts like that and moments like that where he melts.
The other part you're not talking about. This ain't the
same NFC North, it's better. The Packers are better, the

(11:24):
Bears are better. And in Minnesota, if they take a
step down, I don't know how far down they're gonna
go to. Still I have a good defense, they still
have good offensive weapons, and if JJ McCarthy does not
turn the ball over, they have a chance to still
win maybe ten games like they'll they'll drop a little bit,
but I don't think they're gonna fall off the map
because they have too many talented players.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
So when I look.

Speaker 6 (11:45):
At all these things, not only do I think the Lions,
you know, aren't going to the super Bowl like you
think they are, I think the Lions are gonna miss
the playoffs, and I think the Lions will fall backwards
and this will all come undone. They had a couple
of years they had their window. I think that this

(12:08):
is going to come undone and the Lions mis Remember,
you could win nine games and not make the playoffs,
or ten games in that division, So it ain't like
they gotta go six and eleven. They can win nine
or ten games and still not make the playoffs. That's
what I'm talking about. So don't be saying that, Rob
saying they're gonna win three games. That's not You could

(12:29):
still lose by winning ten games and not make the
postseason because of your division, because of the NFC and
some other teams.

Speaker 5 (12:36):
So that's where I'm at.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Okay, but let me throw this at you a couple things,
and I hear you don't agree with you, but I
hear you. They were also the number one point differential team.
They were blowing good teams, middle teams, bad teams, AFC,
NFC in the division. Out the division, they were blowing
everybody out. They had one of the best home records.
And also we know how that home field advantage is

(12:59):
for them to me, it didn't.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Work against Washington. Jared Goff threw.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Too many interceptions point blank period and Jayden Daniels played
the game in his life flat out.

Speaker 6 (13:08):
They lost, played the game is left because he was
set up by a bad quarterback and big moment and
they still almost.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
Want to win.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
That doesn't throw a freaking touchdown on their game. Ben
Johnson got carried away having the game in a in
a in a receiver's hand to throw a pass.

Speaker 6 (13:23):
No, you'll you'll find out when Jared golf is all
said and done, he'll be one of those guys who
just couldn't get you where you needed to go. And
then it'll be like, Okay, not only did the Rams
get rid of him, Okay, the Lions have seen enough
of it and it'll be the end of it.

Speaker 5 (13:37):
Then let me tell you something.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
I see the pathway for them to get to the
Super Bowl I do not, and I'm talking about I
was born in Montgomery, Alabama. I don't see how they
don't make the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
That I do.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
I do not see when they have all their weapons
and some back draft picks and somehow they're all of
a sudden gonna be out of the postseason. Not too
manch you whoever said they were eleven, he said eleventh
in the NFC. He'd even say eleventh in entirefl Okay,
maybe eleventh in the NFC is crazy, And I know.

Speaker 5 (14:07):
Rob Parker went on doing.

Speaker 6 (14:08):
It all right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven, seven, nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.

it to the Super Bowl or the Lions missed the
playoffs altogether? You know it's side We're both on.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
Taking your calls.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
We got Adam Kaplan coming up in about five six
minutes talking about I say, the Lions going to Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (16:10):
Rob says, the Lions aren't even making the playoffs. Where
are you? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox? Who
we got?

Speaker 6 (16:15):
We couldn't be more opposite, no doubt, eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. Tony from Coachella in the Valley.
You're on THEYD couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Tony?

Speaker 12 (16:25):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (16:25):
My brothers? Man? Good to Tonty Yong? Yeah man, I'm
a number one detrait.

Speaker 12 (16:30):
Lions fan were playing from the east side of the trade
Holland Park High School in Detroit, Michigan.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
Oh boy, okay, nah boss up, go ahead, Boss up ahead?

Speaker 8 (16:42):
Yeah now Rob, you my man, Robert, I graduated in
class eighty three, but I've been in Florida, in California. Man,
my mom called me up, come out here being every
since right for Rob. Come on, man, you.

Speaker 12 (16:56):
Know them coordinators already go on Friday afternoon, they checked
out the game Fred the week. You watch that game
on that Saturday or Sudday when the game was played,
watching how.

Speaker 6 (17:10):
That that had nothing to do with Jared Golf fumbling
the ball and throwing three picks. Come on, you you
you let Jared? You letting Jared Goff off the hook.
He turned in a stinker. He turned in a stinker.
Come on, let's just be honest, Rob, Tony, they had
a chance to go to the super Bowl in San Francisco.
They choked that down. They played a rookie quarterback at home.

(17:31):
They choked that down. It's over, Tony, it's over. Thanks
for the call, appreciated, Tony. Ain't over Vern in Detroit,
you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (17:41):
What's up?

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Vern?

Speaker 4 (17:43):
It pains my heart like when Nino Brown found out
g Money dimed the mount to agree with Rob Parker,
it burns my soul.

Speaker 5 (17:53):
I know my dog, Vern hang up on him.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
What your youth to be your dog sas he was
a Michigan and then but I digress.

Speaker 5 (18:01):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
So the window, I believe the window in the NFL
is the smallest window to reach, get back or to
realize your potential in the NFL. What I am scared
of and when I'm kind of disappointed, is that the NFL,
and I don't know if it's Michigan culture with all
our sports teams to never go out and do anything

(18:26):
big to make drastic improvements. When I found out the
Philadelphia Eagles were trying to throw everything at Michael Parson's
after they just reached the pinnacle, and we did nothing.
We did absolutely nothing. And on the other side of
the ball, I don't understand how anybody did not see
what happens when Aiden Hutchinson's double team and there is

(18:47):
no pass rush. I am literally scared of what's about
to happen this season. I fear we have turned into
the Cincinnati Bengals. I am more scared that the window
was closed than it is still there. You got everybody else,
everybody else has readjusted, retooled, and we did nothing. That's
staying pack.

Speaker 12 (19:07):
I mean, can y'all.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
Think of a time in Michigan sports history after ras
Sive Wallace that anybody in Michigan sports made a bit
splash and free agency of trade or anything. I am
tired of staying pat, of not going out and making
a big moment.

Speaker 6 (19:24):
Hey, vern thanks for the call. We appreciate it. And uh,
that is true. They did not do anything and most
of the teams in that division got much better.

Speaker 5 (19:32):
Ad Vernon invited to the super Bowl party.

Speaker 6 (19:34):
Well you came to Michigan and didn't holler at him anyway,
Kay argue later he and I and Reno Nevada.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Kate?

Speaker 12 (19:45):
Hey?

Speaker 10 (19:46):
Happy kickoff day?

Speaker 8 (19:47):
Boys?

Speaker 10 (19:47):
Yes, sir, Hey, Uh, I'm a die hard Packers fan
to the day I was born. And gives me confidence
that the Lions are going to regrets a little bit.
You know, do you lose your coordinator who drove that ship?

Speaker 8 (20:01):
He's a he's a great mind.

Speaker 10 (20:03):
But Rob Doffy, they are not missing the playoffs at worse,
that is a wild card team. They got too much
talent front to back. They are still well coached. Their
window for a Super Bowl may be closed. But that
team has far too much talent to be missing out
on the playoffs this year.

Speaker 5 (20:22):
That right, not to say.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
I thought it was Kay Cunningham calling from the Chinese
right there?

Speaker 5 (20:28):
All right, man, appreciate the calls. Right there. We have
more people who all wanted to get in and they won't.
All right, what I can you hang around if they
want to?

Speaker 1 (20:36):
You know, maybe we'll talk to talk to you guys
a little bit later, all right, Adam Kaplan on the way,
We'll talk some more NFL headlines with him.

Speaker 5 (20:42):
Right now, Manzi Belino is gonna get you set on
with trending Nazi.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Adam Kaplan, Fox Sports Radio, NFL Insider joining us now
Caplin NFL on X.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
All right, which one's more likely? Adam?

Speaker 1 (21:03):
I don't know what all you got to hear? I
have the Lions in the Super Bowl. I stated a
bunch of reasons. Just choke, guys, I'll spare you.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
I mean, look, they're good.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
Go ahead or the Lions not making the playoffs, which
is Rob's point.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
I look, the lines are gonna have two new coordinators.

Speaker 13 (21:21):
That's certainly something to discuss and be concerned about. I
don't see any way they don't make the playoffs. But
what's more likely I would say they get to the
super Bowl? Then they did not make the planking.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
Adam, Adam, did they change quarterbacks?

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Goss a really good player?

Speaker 12 (21:39):
Is he is?

Speaker 5 (21:40):
He not watch the season? That's that's why they got
rid of them in La. He can't know.

Speaker 6 (21:44):
No, this is what This is why they got rid
of him in La. Okay, he took them to a
super Bowl and they got rid of him. And in
the biggest game of the year after you go fifteen
in two, Adam, you choke with three interceptions and a
fumble in the biggest game of the year against the
rookie quarterback. That's an indictment of Jared Golf. That's why
I say he turned into Jared Tennants there.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Yeah, but he didn't play that game. But their their
defense did show up.

Speaker 6 (22:09):
No, but but that wasn't There were nine and a
half point favorites Adam going into that game.

Speaker 5 (22:14):
It was on that defense. But you don't know they're
gonna turn the ball over four time. You can't win
to turnovers. Rob Will said, this.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Is about Gough.

Speaker 13 (22:22):
He's he needs to be in a structure when you
ask him to win a game, that's the question. So
on your point, I think they learned that you can't
put it on his hands to win it. It's gotta
be balanced. You can't put it on him. He's not
Tom Brady, he's not Josh Allen, he's not Lamar Jackson.
There's shirt there's certain things you can do with uh,
with Jared GoF, but you can't ask him to win
a game for.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
You, no doubt.

Speaker 6 (22:43):
All Right, let's go to tonight the opener of Philadelphia
in Dallas. Is the report comes out that Philly said,
oh wait a minute, Uh, Michael Parsons is available.

Speaker 5 (22:53):
We'll turn on his mic up and uh try to
get him. What did you make of that? That Philly
like they're adding a extra cheese on that cheese.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
Yeah, I mean they had no chance. They was not
even considered.

Speaker 13 (23:04):
In fact, I'm I understanding is there was another NFC's
team that called, uh that team Washington.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Now who they spoke to, I don't know.

Speaker 10 (23:12):
You know.

Speaker 13 (23:13):
See, the thing is you've got Jerry Jones, the owner,
general manager, he makes a final decision. You got Stephen Jones' son,
who's the vice president, who's involved. You've got Will McClay
as a director of player personnel. So you know, he
could have left several times. To be absolutely, they've taken
care of him. So the bottom line is, guys, look
when you look at the situation, Philly lost five defensive starters.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Okay, they're past rushers, a major question mark.

Speaker 13 (23:38):
As a matter of fact, they had two of the
freezings inactive tonight asizo Ja Lari, a former Giant, and o'conchroe,
a former Brown and Texan, so they're really aren't going
to use three.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
Now.

Speaker 13 (23:50):
The problem this game tonight, and you're probably going to
see it, is Dallas's offensive line is not very good,
particularly at the tackles, and the Eagles don't blitz, and
they didn't blitz once in the Super Bowl. There are
bottom five blitz team. These what are called simp pressures.
They they they disguise the way that they that they
pressure the quarterback on third down. So to me, without

(24:12):
Michael Parsons, it's going to be really, really tough now
week one and you're gonna see this on Sunday. It's
strange things that you expect to happen don't happen because
some teams are little bit farther. I agree with you
that it gets to be really weird, It really weird. Yes,
first week, it's always like that.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
Well, let's go to Adam Kaplan our guests by the way,
on with the odd couple, Rob and Kelvin on a
TV things on Thursday. Let's go to the recipients of
Michael Parsons services, and that's the Packers who believe they
jumped up to a lot of people having around third
right now odds to win it all.

Speaker 5 (24:43):
Rob, I think that's his pick to go to the
super Bowl. Oh yeah yeah, so where are you?

Speaker 1 (24:48):
And now we've then getting obviously super Bowl team before,
but now they get Michael. You you high elevation, stayed
the same? What do you think of the past? I
already picked them, you know.

Speaker 5 (24:57):
Just so you know, before the drift, before the drift,
before the trade, I.

Speaker 13 (25:00):
Had picked the Packers to win it when the whole ding,
no no, no, when they're division North to beat Detroit.
I Detroit's my breakout team three years ago.

Speaker 5 (25:09):
I backed them, but.

Speaker 13 (25:12):
They need more pass structures. I look, I understand what,
I understand what the GM Brad Holmes was talking about.
You got to be strong up in the middle.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
That's great.

Speaker 13 (25:19):
I mean, they drafted Tilly Gwiams, a d tackle in
the first round. But bringing back Marcus Davenport has always hurt.
He's been a big disappointment as a former first round pick.
That's when the Saints traded up for him, and it
just never worked out. Why that brought Davenport back is
beyond me. They've got one quality pass strushers coming off
a broken leg, and that's Aiden Hutchinson. That's a problem

(25:40):
for me. They're not strong corner. They're great at safety,
They've got some problems on defense. And as I said
I when Rob brought it up with Jared Goff, he's
a very structured quarterback. If everything's working, he's really accurate
and he's really good. But when they're behind, he's not
a guy that you want bringing from behind. So they
got to stay on schedule. This team does not seem

(26:00):
to me as good as they were last year.

Speaker 5 (26:03):
I'm wonder to hear about the Packers that's what I
was wondering.

Speaker 13 (26:05):
Packers now Packers. Yeah, all right, so here here's the thing.
Here's what I like about the Packers. Top three NFL roster. Okay, phenomenal,
really good in the regular season. Matt LeFleur is Lamar
Jackson of head coaches. Can't win in the playoffs, just
doesn't do well. Whatever reason they don't do well in
the playoffs, It's hard to find a weekness on this
football team. One of them was major. It was their

(26:27):
past rush. They one guy Rashaun Gary, nice player for
a first rounder in twenty nineteen, so they make the
trade for Parsons.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
The corner.

Speaker 5 (26:35):
They're not very good.

Speaker 13 (26:36):
They're they're average, are below average, line packers outstanding de tackle,
really good. This is a good team. They're really well coached. Offensively,
they're really good. They're they're really deep. I know they're
very happy with Matthew Golden, their first round pick. We're
gonna we're gonna see against the trait where he's at
offensive line. They're they're fine, they're not special, but they're

(26:57):
they're coach. Well, now I'll tell you what they got
a real problem. Josh Shacobs gets hurt.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
They got a problem.

Speaker 5 (27:05):
They don't.

Speaker 13 (27:05):
Emmanuel Wilson's to three, the Marshall Lloydy's on us out
with he might he's going to be out a while,
so they need to figure out that backup running back job.
So if he gets hurt, they're in major trouble. But
they're really good guys. They're a top five.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
Team to me. But I don't know why they can't
win on the playoffs.

Speaker 6 (27:22):
Let me ask you about the Kansas City Chiefs playing
the Chargers on Friday in Brazil.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
I'm down on the Chiefs. I thought last year they
were very.

Speaker 6 (27:31):
Lucky in a lot of games. I'm not saying they're
not going to win any games, but I just I
don't think it's the same. Kelsey already admitted that, you know,
he's too caught up in all this other stuff. Now
he's planning for a wedding and whatnot. I don't know
where he fits in. Rice is out right six games,
Patrick Mahomes throws three yards of pass. It's just not

(27:51):
the same to me. And they won a lot of
games last year, but when they played a really good
team in Florida, they got destroyed.

Speaker 14 (27:57):
They got destroyed. I don't I don't where do you have?
Are they going to the Super Bowl? And all right,
here's rob. It's funny you brought up, you know, the
dink and dunk. So they want to expand the passing game. Now,
how are they going to do that?

Speaker 13 (28:11):
They went through not one, not two, not three, four
left tackles last season. The last one got housed is
Joe Toney. He got abused in the Super Bowl. He's
not a left tackle, he's a guard. He wound up
getting traded to the Bears. So they're going to reshape
their offensive line. The kids Sumite, who they drafted to
play left tackle, didn't work out. They moved him to guard.
They're not good at right tackle. Juwan Taylor because of

(28:31):
his contracts the only reason why they didn't cut him.
He's making over twenty million this season. He's the right tackle.
Jalen Moore comes over, he'll back up right and left tackle.
They believe they'll be better. Josh Shimmons, by the way,
he's come back from this torn totel at ten and
really well. The first run pick out of Ohio State.
So they got Hollywood brown back Worthy had a good
rookie season. They I'm told they want to expand and

(28:53):
go deep. They as long as they can protect because
they they know it internally, it was a disaster. They
can't play football like that. And the other thing is
Pacheco they're starting running back. Let's not forget he came
back from that that lake fracture. It was never the
same when he came back. So the other thing is
this is another team that's not very good at corner.
They got one good corner in Trent McDuffie, and that's
that's pretty much it. You can't win in this league

(29:16):
unless you're deep at corner and they're not. And that
does worry me.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
Yeah, I mean defensively, that's what's kept them in the
game for the last couple of seasons. And just the
efficiency in the big time completions from Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 5 (29:29):
That's where he was hot.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
I think it was number one and fifty three percent
completion on third down rate and he just makes the
right play the right time along with that defense.

Speaker 5 (29:36):
So we'll see.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
I expect him to be better than last year as
far as the stats. Maybe don't win fifteen, but they'll
be perfectly fine in my opinion. All Right, Adam, thank
you so much. Appreciate you as always. Man, we'll talk
next week. See Adam Kaplan Kaplin NFL on X give

Speaker 5 (32:24):

Speaker 3 (32:29):

Speaker 5 (32:30):
He won't owning three vibes. We won't even look at me.

Speaker 6 (32:33):
He's like Rob's had the nerve to go on dacke

Speaker 5 (32:38):
He lying on you in front of YouTube, Elijah. So
we just thought we'd we started No, ain't none of that.

Speaker 6 (32:43):
Okay, with the new start of the feel sick.

Speaker 5 (32:47):
Were separated, I should do a base No, we really
we started over? Was Rogie he really start? Hold on?
I thought we were just talking having fun.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
No, we got zero for do We didn't count trash
talking Tuesday, and I'm trash talking the last.

Speaker 5 (33:04):
You got a whole new who did it? Soccer?

Speaker 3 (33:06):
Who?

Speaker 5 (33:06):
Who made this dagna?

Speaker 2 (33:08):
And did it?

Speaker 1 (33:10):
I'm so done with you. You got a whole new
Oh is the Shekel city logo thingy thing?

Speaker 5 (33:15):
All right?

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Here we go?

Speaker 5 (33:16):
So done. I can't believe y'all got some baseball. Got
the Dodgers minus three.

Speaker 6 (33:22):
I know, Dodgers minus one and a half taking on
the Pittsburgh Pirates in Pittsburgh, and I know they're down
one nothing already, but my thing was, they really need
a winning gonna get swept. Even though Schemes is on
the mound and he's of course dominated him, but I
still thought the Dodgers needed this win. So Dodgers minus
one and a half. I took the Twins minus one

(33:43):
and a half. Excuse me, they're hosting the White Sox
in Minnesota here. Yeah, you know that barbecue chicken and
all right? And then last, but not least, our best bet,
it's course of the NFL. Okay that leg I made
that leg myself. That wasn't from Kroger. You made Ralse
Sprouse Rouse think about Michiganeah, you were okay, they got

(34:03):
the Lions on your brain. By the way, why don't
you ever look at me? Could have did the Sparks
and the Dream Game? Oh please w n b A
please no?

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (34:12):
And last best bet, I'm taking the Dallas Cowboys plus
eight and a half.

Speaker 5 (34:17):
Wow, take on the Eagles. You heard that, Alex? All right?
You need some extra money? New car?

Speaker 6 (34:23):
I do here we go, Alex plus eight and a
half put my money on it. When I saw you
coming today, I couldn't believe how brown you were. I
wanted to pour some sugar on you. Brown sugar. I'm
just saying that that ain't sound right and by you.
He really met your girl, Alex, And.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
You know what, what was it?

Speaker 6 (34:41):
What was the one I said the other day, Alex,
you weren't here worried. I was talking about the dog
licking my peaches.

Speaker 5 (34:47):
Yeah, that was it. Yeah, you needed to drop. He
just said it again, So you got your drop. Yeah.
Somebody hit me up to said, dude, did you really
say that?

Speaker 6 (34:56):
I was talking about bringing dogs into the supermarket and
dogs looking peaches.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
No, you specified them peaches. There were your peaches. It
wasn't just peaches in general. Wasn't the community peaches.

Speaker 5 (35:09):
I'm just saying. I was like, I don't want them
to bring animals into the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
So the thing is now you can't bring up certain
fruits and vegetables because now the inn windows right.

Speaker 5 (35:18):
Peaches, egg plants, I had a glizzy in my mouth.
Certain things.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
You just can't bring up things, and we have ruined
it now. Usher usher is ruined cherries. Thank god that
Alex wasn't in for that. Yeah, but you just gave
it to me, so thank you anyway. So, yeah, just
based off of Shekel City, you think that Cowboys are
gonna cover, But do you actually have them You got
them losing though.

Speaker 5 (35:42):
Right or do you I'm assuming I do want assume.

Speaker 6 (35:44):
Yeah, No, I have them losing. But eight and a
half it's a lot of points, especially week one. We
saw a couple of years ago after the after the
Chiefs won the Super Bowl, what happened? The Lions came
in there and beat them twenty one twenty this year too, Yeah,
I expected to be Yeah, I'm I was just gonna say,
I'm with you. Also, divisional game, Cowboys mad. They want

(36:04):
to prove everybody, you know, we're not as bad as
you think we're gonna be. We lost, Micah, I expect
the Eagles to win, and pretty handily. But I can
understand why you think the spread is high.

Speaker 5 (36:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (36:15):
And and the other thing too is, you know, with
the commotion about the team and the fans and uh
being back for the first time since they won the
Super Bowl, and you know what I mean, like a
lot of stuff's going on. And even last year when
the Chiefs were coming off of Super Bowl, they beat Baltimore,
but barely remember the foot on the line right for

(36:35):
the game.

Speaker 5 (36:35):
But they could have lost that game. So I just
think the games are closer.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
Stop bringing up the Chiefs. What I'm just saying to
talking about the Eagles. You keep bringing these Chiefs. But
I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (36:45):
About like the first game of the year, even after
we won the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
All you keep doing bring up the Chority chief that's
the Super Bowl right there. I need to pick my
pick from last year. Go ahead, pick it and Chiefs.
That's what I need to do. Eagles are winning today.
There are concerns though for the Eagles. They've lost some players.
We haven't talked about their defensive defensively, they lost some pieces.
The offensive line could be a little shooketh as well.

(37:10):
I expect him to win and they get I expected
to win by by good seven, but I think it'll
be a little bit more competitive.

Speaker 5 (37:18):
Uh then maybe people give it, but the Eagles should
come out. They'll come out and be fine.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
I'm interested to see Saquon Barkley throughout the season more
long term, if he has another phenomenal year like that,
or if there's a nice drop off, because that year
was incredible. They had a chance to become an all
time leading rusher, and I will be interested to see
if that offensive line can get him back to just
about what he was last year.

Speaker 5 (37:38):
That'd be interesting to see to me. And no way
is gonna have that year, That's what I mean, Like
that was on that. I just can't see that out.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
And I think people are gonna go all out and say,
all right, dang it, you're gonna have to just air
it out. And I know that that that uh Jalen
Hurts has done it from time to time, but that
would be the game plan, stop him, dang it.
