do we not have a good lunch?

Speaker 4 (02:10):
No?

Speaker 5 (02:10):
No, no, no, no, gee, did we not have a
good lunche that we had a good lunch. We'll watch
this since he wanted to play that game, right, you
and I both know, Robgi, the real reason why we
skipped the restaurant on the end of the block to
go to the mall because they had a norstrim what.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Norstern rack? And you set us up. You acted as
if oh man, I've never been here before. I've never
seen this. Whoall, Hey, did you know there's a nor
That's why you wanted to go to the mall. You
got me at a mall food court in New Orleans?
The best food in America?

Speaker 3 (02:39):
You lucky?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
It was actually good? Though? Was that?

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Was it not good?

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Rob?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
And the shrimp?

Speaker 4 (02:46):
The fry? I know they're just fries.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
When all the season if somebody mama was back there
season of fries, right, so yes, New Orleans already set.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
It up good. But did you go did you? Did
you buy something? Norse and Rack?

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Let's stay, folks, right, I cave though, I did cave,
you did cave? All right, Let's just go to the
food all right? I bet it all right?

Speaker 5 (03:03):
A lot to do so little time right here, uh
in New Orleans. We're gonna talk about Obviously, the big
NBA news that.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Broke the Aaron Fox is not that one.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
It's a bigger one than that. First hour.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
Of course, we'll do a little Shekel City our number two,
Rob Woods in the Hall of Fame dB, Fox Sports
Radio NFL and US will do that with him as
well and Johann Boja, who covers the Lakers for the
Athletic for the show.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Yes, thank you.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
He just randomly popped up on my TikTok. By the way,
I don't even follow him. He just popped out. If
it was like a sign that he was gonna be
on the show.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Today and and last call.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
Uh so remember all that, uh the uh, and we
should say, let's welcome in the odd couple of who
we wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
with down him Rob g of course our producer, Alex,
our engineer back in Sherman Oaks.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
We wish he could be out here with us.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Uh one time. I don't agree.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
Who's on the updates? I didn't hear for to Steve
the Sega. Yes, Steve the Sega, yep, on the updates.
He'll keep us posted throughout the program. We got a
live and we got Saga, both out here social media
doing their thing.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
So we are in full of fact.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
I'm about to I told you Saga and Elijah apologize
in advance for the amount of social media I want
to do. Well, I'm here this week. I apologize in advance. Okay,
we got we gotta make it happen. We got to
show the people let's get to it, all right, So
let's start here.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
And obviously the trade that shook NBA America's no, not
that trade, would you stop. I mean Luca and a
d And then you know the other people that we
don't care about, all those two guys swapping spots, and
you know, people are looking at the trade and say, hey,

(04:49):
in the short term, it's great for the Mavericks. In
the long term, it's great for the Lakers because now
you have the face of your franchise going forward, a
twenty five year old international star Like this is what
the Lakers do. Rob g always says that, you know,
they gotta go find We're gonna go get Shocked from Orlando.
We're gonna go get Kareem from Milwaukee. We're gonna go

(05:12):
get you know, these big time stars and bring them
to Los Angeles. And and that's what Luca is. There's
no offens or button. But the bigger story to me,
and I don't think you could really say anything other
than Luca was dumped by the Mavericks.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Like you can look at it. Oh, they just wanted defense,
you know, with ad and all that.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
No, no, no, they looked at their situation and said,
we gotta pay this guy three hundred and fifty million
dollars this summer. Right, he's a top three or four
player in the NBA. He just took your franchise to
the NBA Finals eight months ago, not four years ago.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Eight months ago. We get it. He's hurt.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
He hasn't been playing since Christmas. I get all that,
but you know what he does when he gets on
the court. And they said thanks, but no thanks, And
they did it in the cloak of night. That's the
other part, right, right, Like like supposedly, I think Rob
g told us his story that they wanted the second.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
First round pick from the Lakers, yep.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
And the Lakers said, well, you know, we need to
talk to Lucas agent if we're gonna this is what
was reported.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
So I'm just saying, and they said, let's just make
the deal.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
And then they announced it at one o'clock eastern, right
back east, one o'clock eastern on a Saturday night.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Really, what trade is announced at that time?

Speaker 4 (06:42):
What traded that magnitude? Right? This isn't just even if
it was like the Aaron Fox. So that's a bit.
That's a nice trade.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
We were saying that would be big enough trade to
have ooh, nice conversation you're paying those ooh de Aaron
and Wimby Luca and a d That is absolutely crazy.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
And that was all.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
We were all watching the Lakes Knicks game, right it
ends and maybe chext All that was.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
On the national game and you're talking.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
About it by the time you just got settled and
you know, maybe putting some kids to bed. Next thing,
you know, that trade happens and you're like, oh, this
is come on, somebody and hacked somebody's account.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
This came out.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Well, that was the first thing everybody thought.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
Shams's account he even had to say, this is real.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
This is real. This is one thousand percent real.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
And the first thing I do I always go to
the website because anybody because because if it's.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
On ESPN dot com, then you know it's.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yeah, jit man. So there's a you just mentioned a
lot the Mavericks. You gotta keep in mind Mark Cuban
is now a minority owner.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
He's not the owner.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
He's not the owner anymore. He has nothing to do
with the basketball operations. And the reason why that's cue
what's huge is and key is because he understands what
it's like to have your guy, your franchise, gut and
ride this thing like he did Dirk, and Dirk got
them to a finals and lost one, got them to
a finals in one one. You have a face of
a franchise. You know what that means, what you can

(08:00):
depend on for fifteen twenty years. Like Dirk, he understands
the importance of that ship of that this new ownership
is like, I mean, he's good, but out on not
tunes at three fifty million and also always out of shape.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
And is he gonna break down? And that you could.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
They almost use him in the finals against him. Look
what it took him to get there at twenty four
to twenty five. He was broken down, he was hobbled,
he was barely made it. And I think that worked
against him.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
I remember a lot of people picked him to win
and it didn't go down.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
It wouldn't go that way.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
And but you would you would think you would say, okay, well,
look we got there when he was twenty four to
twenty five years old.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
We still got another decade with him. We're on our way.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
But they said to me, Rob, this shows me something
must be wrong or at least with their doctors that
are like man that knee, He'll be fine enough to
play again, but it ain't gonna be right right, or
they absolutely have given up hope that he'll ever the
ideology of staying in shape, the ideology of being a pro.
We saw Yo Kics get in shape and say I
gotta get better. We saw Kevin Love. Remember how dope

(09:01):
boy he was when he came into the league. All
of a sudden, Kevin Love has been one of the
more in shape players in the entire NBA.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Any Time you push this belly button, he would leave.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
And the last thing I remember this, I think this
is cute, This is huge. Remember when Luca was enjoying
a little buttweiser heading to the finals and Michael Fentley
comes in.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
It takes the bud a little the beer from him that.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I don't think that while we joke about it and
laugh about it, I think that was serious and that
they may have already had an agreement. A man, you
can't eat this, you can't drink that, you can't do that.
And to see him and the look he had in
Mike Field, it wasn't you got me? Mike had fun?

Speaker 5 (09:36):
Oh he act so he reached back and they give
it to him.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
He thought he was gonna get it.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Back, was like and Michael Finley another person who was
extraordinarily professional in his shape and showed up. You can
tell they must have had some agreements within the same
thing down in New Orleans with uh, with your boys, iyon,
don't eat this, gotta have this, this weight, this that
they wanted Luke around two thirty.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
People were saying he's around two sixty.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
Plus sixty, and so I'm saying, agreeing with you, that
something is off of that organization or they believe with
him that he won't get to that championship caliber and
they're willing to punt on that. That would be like
the Calves punting on Lebron when he didn't make it
after he lost in the NBA Finals to the Spurs
and oh seven, you know, we gonna have four or
five years of him punt on Lebron.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
That's what this equivalent to.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
All five time all FBA, third all time scoring per
game in the NBA A twenty. Nah, he ain't the
one that's crazy, and that's why this thing blew up.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
And you can't look at it any other way about
oh they're just trying to retool to do not that
they want even No, they decided to punt on.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
On a second best player in the NBA.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
And a twenty five year international star. Crazy for they're saying, Nope,
we're not interested in having long term because they knew
that this summer they gotta pay it.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
Oh, without a doubt.

Speaker 5 (10:56):
That's either that right, Yeah, and then the idea, here's
the other part that you weren't willing to make calls
and let people know he was available because that would
have driven up the price.

Speaker 6 (11:07):
Yea.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
And instead the way that they went about this, where
he didn't even know according to reports that he was
going to be traded or this was even happening, tells
me that they had just had enough.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
And that's what I know, without of doubt, And there's
something to this behind the scenes.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
The thirty for thirty is going to be amazing.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
The book is going to be amazing because there's something
else that they know that you know, twenty nine other
teams don't know.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Again, because this doesn't make sense.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
You saw the look of superstars, all time great arguably
top ten fifteen players, and Kevin Duranto Fay shocked You
saw this because and whether all the tweets been saying
anybody can get it, like, oh, anybody can go if
the literal face of the league, you know, post Lebron,
if you will, and Luca arguably one, two, three, four
best player in the league can get traded, any of

(11:53):
us can. And this just shows me that he either
has bat in their face when it comes to commitment
to getting in shape or whatever their their regiment or
program is, he's just kind of pooh pooh that, or
they just believe he's more broken down than we know
and been playing professional balls since he was like thirteen.
Maybe there is something to he won't have a thirty seven,
eight nine forty year old career like a Dirk and

(12:14):
Lebron and Kobe. Maybe he's got seven eight more years
in him because he's, you know, been playing our core
basketball for so long. There's something else that they know
that they're they were willing to say, all right, go
ahead and not the eighty is a scrub.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
They got back.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
But but but he's six years old years old. That's
a that's a big difference in a trade. But I
also think it's it's the ownership. Remember, I think players
have gotten caught up with the idea that they don't
work for somebody because the money's so big.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
But somebody's paying you.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
You know what I mean, I'm still paying you. It's
a lot of money.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
It's a lot.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
I'm paying you, right, And I think for once you
got a view of ownership saying I don't care, like
I'm not going to just pay you and you not deliver.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
For us or do what we need you to do.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
Yeah, exactly what we want.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
So h this is gonna be interesting, and then we'll
talk about later on.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
In the bubble ways to skin this cat.

Speaker 5 (13:13):
There's a lot. There's a lot to this, but we
do want to hear from you. Let's get to want
to let people jump in on this. Obviously, this topic
is just too hot. It's still supers everything. Why do
you think the Mavericks were in such uh what was that,
Rob g Why the marriage such a rush.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
To dump Luca?

Speaker 5 (13:33):
And should the Lakers be worried that they bought damaged goods?
We'll have that continue that conversation next with you. Yep,
it is the Odd.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
Couple eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven

to cut, and then the NBA had a nerve to say, well,
let me drop the story of the week on you
like this.

Speaker 5 (14:58):
I was saying to Rob g Like the last couple
super Bowls we were Unfortunately we're in Miami when Kobe
doll Right was killed in the plank helicopter, and a
couple other stories.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
Right, Russell Westbrook was trading.

Speaker 7 (15:11):
There was a couple when we were out of in Phoenix,
Kevin Durant traded to the Signs while we were there.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Yeah, at like midnight Easter.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
So other than the Kobe obviously, God blessed dead NBA,
you're telling me the NBA has this plan, Like yeah,
they always in true know what we do.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
The NFL.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
Let's get him back, no doubt. We're talking about.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Luca obviously eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, and.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
I do want to say we were talking about the crew.
Ryan Berschinger is answering the phones today.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
Shout to Ryan.

Speaker 5 (15:35):
Yep, Ryan's there as well. All right, a Mark in Sacramento.
You're on the odd couple of Fox, so it's radio.
What's up, Mark?

Speaker 6 (15:44):
What's going on guys, how you guys doing it?

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Has been a minute.

Speaker 5 (15:49):
It's great to hear your voice, and this is the
right time because I want to hear your NBA take.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Obviously that you love the NBA. That's your baby. What
do you got?

Speaker 6 (15:58):
I thought so I wanted to rob you know, I
never forget you. I tell you what, man, when you
let us a player of this stature go first Team
All NBA Winter Finals, when you even go, there's an
underlying story. Obviously there's something that we don't know that
they do in order to hit that button, and they
did it so fast they didn't even get anybody else involved,

(16:20):
right tells me that. That tells me there was a
red light there to hit that they could have got more,
but they hit that button so fast no one even
knew something happened for them to do that. You don't
do that with a start like this unless there's an
underlying issue somewhere in there to make those guys hit
that button on the start of this magnitude. That's the
way I look at it gonna come out.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
I agree with that mark something about yeah, just to
work out the regiment.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
Because they didn't want other and they didn't want other
people to be involved where they had to. Maybe once
it gets out, maybe lucasays I'm not going there, you
know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Yeah, look crazy right, you know the back you get
scared and pull the trigger.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
Yeah, absolutely, there's something else.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
So there was a there's a report that Danny Ainge
says he didn't even know, uh he was because he's
the third team in this, that he was helping out
the Lakers. Otherwise, you know, maybe he'd reconsider that. They
didn't even tell Danny Ainge this. He just know that
he did. He's all right, cool, Yeah, you facilitate the trade.
I'll get some young guys and picks. Okay, cool? Wait
what the Lakers? He had no idea? So again this
is how how secretive the this was.

Speaker 5 (17:22):
Mike out West, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio on a Magic City Monday.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
What's up, Mike?

Speaker 8 (17:29):
Hey, I got my own take on who won that
trade and it may surprise you.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Okay, got on it. Yeah, you said that my surprise.
You can take out Mike. Did Mike?

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Did it surprised me? How did Utah win?

Speaker 6 (17:42):
So?

Speaker 8 (17:42):
I look at Dallas? Did they get better by losing
Luca and getting a guy who's thirty three and injured
a lot. No, the Lakers, you got a guy who
doesn't play defense and is out of shape. Is he
going to fit with Lebron? Is that going to be
a stable relationship.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
No.

Speaker 8 (18:01):
I don't think either of them won the trade. But
Utah got draft picks.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
Draft pick When when does Utah's draft picks turned into anything?

Speaker 3 (18:11):
I've heard that forever.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
Remember when the Stings and Danny Ah had a million
draft picks? Two you know, I mean, but I get
your point. No, But I'm just saying it's not always.
There's a lot of picks that don't work out.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
I mean, that's there's no way you can compare a
draft pick to Luca be That's what I'm saying. Ninety
seven percent, maybe even higher, that your draft pick ain't
gonna be Luca, Like he's that good third all time
points per game.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
All right, And I disagree.

Speaker 5 (18:36):
I think that you can look at it and say,
to me, Dallas won in the short term and the
Lakers won in the long term.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
I think that that's fair.

Speaker 5 (18:43):
Right, you have a team that you can still compete
with Anthony Davis. He's been healthy the last couple of
years and he's playing right and so so you still
have a chance in the West. And for the Lakers,
Lebron is forty right. You need you need a face
of the franchise going forward. Here's a twenty five year
old and instead of paying three hundred and fifty millions,

(19:04):
the Lakers only have to pay.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Two thirty two thirty. Yeah, oh looke.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
By the way, I'm averaging fifty every time he plays
the Mavericks.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
F Y just put that down. He's averaging fifty Is.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
It fifty points or fifty chicken nuggets?

Speaker 4 (19:15):
Because I'm just saying.

Speaker 7 (19:17):
According to ESPN's Tim McMahon, he's covering the team forever.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
Yep.

Speaker 7 (19:23):
The what tipping point that happened for Dallas that led
to them wanting to pursue this trade took place in November, okay,
when they said that Luca had his weight had ballooned
into the high two sixties. So the team says, we're
gonna give you two weeks eleven days excuse abs. We're
going to say it's a risk injury. We want you
to drop some of that weight. According to McMahon, he

(19:44):
actually gained well the time he was out okay, but
but that makes sense.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
And now that's all, okay, what is he.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Doing playing at two sixty anyway?

Speaker 7 (19:53):
Come on, if he's getting buckets, doesn't matter it's twenty five.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
No, it does.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
It's way because because rob g every year there's issues
like later on where he can't play right. I mean
a lot of it has to do with his weight
and conditions.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
So I remember, and again I'm no pro athlete, but
just follow me here you'll feel what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
I remember playing in this.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
League, this little league, and I was doing I was
getting buckets, and there's.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
A tier above us.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
Hear me out to give you an example of, Like
there's this raft who played college ball, and I'm just
chatting it up with him. I was like, man, I
can go to that next tier up. He's like, no,
you can probably play. He was like, now, mind you,
I'm lighter than I am. Now he was like, yeah,
you probably have to lose fifteen. And I'm wayl I'm like,
what are you like?

Speaker 4 (20:31):
What? And because dude, those guys think.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Of who he's going up against, Luca. Dude, they're going
up with guys who have STANIMAA. Is not just that,
it's that wear and tear on your body at two sixty.
His use is rate. He's not too sixty and I'm
in the paint. He's too sixty bringing the ball up
doing this. Now, here's why I think this could work out.
I know, we got another call him playing with Lebron
for the first time, being with somebody who's better than him,
who also or at least, you know, at least historically,

(20:55):
not now historically you know what I mean, like a
great and who he can look in his eye and
be like, nah, even I work out like that, Like
who was doing that? And you know what I mean,
he didn't have that like person that would.

Speaker 5 (21:04):
Be I'm gonna say that that doesn't translate because they're
not the same people.

Speaker 4 (21:10):
Well, I agree with them, they're literally not none of
a different mind.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
Right and that And that's what I'm saying. I really,
guy has gotten an amazing shape. Yeah, but but you
might he might get into shape because he's been humbled
or whatever. But I'm not saying it's Lebron who's gonna whip.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Him around that being like, dang this dude, because Lucas
always been better than everybody's whole life. So why do
I gotta go to Extra Mount. I'm still better than you.
Lebron be betterbody his whole life, but he is ridiculous.
Andrew and Bakersfield, California. You're in the couple of Fox
Sports Radio on a Magic City Monday.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
What's up, Andrew?

Speaker 9 (21:44):
What's up? Guys? Rob? I think you're right. You know,
sometimes a trade is a win win for both sides.
And I'm a Lakers fan. I'm excited someone finally thought
about something and did something. And if I could quote Snoop,
he says, Shaquille O'Neil is down with us Lakers. Let's

(22:06):
go Luke.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
All right, thanks like Magic God Showtime, appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
Yeah, they say, Lebron be dang right now, we're making
a move.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (22:17):
Well, like I said, it might not work out this
year for them, but the idea is the Lakers have
their guy and it's not going to cost them three fifty.
That's the other part, right, You're not giving up Anthony
Davis's contract, and it's it's two thirty, I think is
the most that they can pay them.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
That's doable for sure.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
And Luca lost a lot of money too, oh, Lation,
not just from the one hundred and seventeen.

Speaker 4 (22:41):
Ten percent tax tax goes up fifteen.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
There's no tax in taxes next year.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
And CALLI uh, he lost a lot of money there, Guard.
He'll make it up in some other ways. What's going
up to fifteen state taxed? Okay, I'm moving to fifteen.
It's going up to fifteen bro Okay, yeah, Cally got
Cally got a lot.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
Yeah all right.

Speaker 2 (23:01):

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Well, Steve just slapped us with some news and I
was getting ready to get to the Miles Garrett news
of going requesting a trade.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
Then all of a sudden, we got that one. But yeah,
sure we got them. We are.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
We are super Bowl week, so there's gonna be some
NFL news too, So we'll get to Cooper cupping a
little bit.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
But yeah, you have Miles Garrett requesting a trade.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
Put out another you just talking about with Steve's statement
saying that long story short, he's looking to get to
a super Bowl team. He said it was never to
be Cleveland the Canton. It was Cleveland the super Bowl
was his point. And this is interesting when you had
their their their front office saying we ain't get rid
of him no matter what, we don't even care if
you call it two first rounds just a week or
so ago recently saying that. So they go from I

(23:53):
don't care what you offre, we ain't getting rid of him,
to now making it different because he's requesting the offer,
and not only that, Rob, he's made it public, not
just private.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
Yeah, if I'm the Cleveland Browns, I'm going to fix this.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
I'm gonna do what I need to do. I'm not
getting rid of mileths care. I'm not and I don't.
I don't care.

Speaker 5 (24:09):
I'm just not a player like that is what you
try to build around in order to have a chance
to win a championship a super Bowl, And I'm not Seriously,
what is it? Do I need to get rid of
Deshaun Watson? Do I need to pour a ketchup on
that contract? Do we need to bring in somebody else?
You know what I mean? Do we need to get

(24:30):
bring Sam Darnold in? I'm just giving you, like, what
do we need to do? And how much is gonna
cost us? Because we made a bad mistake. We thought
we had this defense. We thought all we needed to
do was add a Pro Bowl quarterback, add some water
stir and we were going to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
And it didn't happen. We made a bad mistake, and
now we have to fix it.

Speaker 4 (24:50):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
I think they've made a couple of mistakes that someone
of his elk, his talent, where he's gonna be once
I saw said and done one of the all time greats.
I mean, you're talking about a four time All Pro
you're talking about the setting records already.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
Dude's twenty nine years old, and you know.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
He's embedded in the community because he's a minority owner
with the Cleveland Cavaliers. You see him front row there,
hanging out of games, so you know he enjoyed the city,
enjoys the town.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
But I think, rob I think a couple of things.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
I think when you see Baker Mayfield, who we're not
saying Baker Mayfield is Joe Montana, but Baker Mayfield has
some success there, they made a mistake and they let
him go.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
They made a mistake. However, you have.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
To admit that that made a mistake there.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Then they compounded by giving two hundred plus million dollars
guaranteed to Deshaun Watson. We already see what's going on
there between the issues off the field and then the injuries,
so I think for him, and then Joe Flacco gets
him the postseason, again not saying long term, but then
you move on from Joe Flacco and it just it
hasn't worked all of the moves that they've made. And
I think there's a point when he feels like, am

(25:52):
I wasting my best years when I'm trying to win
a super Bowl?

Speaker 5 (25:56):
And so the but the fallacy is everybody's not gonna win,
to say super Bowl. So you know, I hear Miles
Garrett and some players who everybody's not going to I
don't care.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
How good you are. There's so many.

Speaker 5 (26:08):
Barry Sanders is one of the all time greats, didn't
win a Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
Charles Barkley is an all time great, didn't win it.

Speaker 5 (26:15):
I could go on and on and on about a
lot of great players who didn't win. Marino, who some
people thought was the goat for right like there were
people fight.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
My counter to that, though, everybody you named except Barry
and who at least got to an NFC championship once
in his career did have a shot.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
You brought up Barkley.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Barkley went to the finals, it just happened, run up
against Michael Jordan, Dann Marino went to a super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
He just never got back.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
So the difference I would say is for what Miles
is saying, at least get me to an organization. And
there's some teams that have you know, people have thrown
around options, what would make sense here or there where
I feel like I have a chance.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
It does, but that doesn't get that doesn't get the team.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
I think that's more of an indictment on Cleveland is
what I'm saying, where he's like, I just it won't
happen here.

Speaker 4 (26:58):
Get me to the chart. I can't.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
I can't believe that, get me to the state.

Speaker 5 (27:03):
I don't believe that because if that's the case, if
this was four years ago or three years ago, would
he be asking to go to the Lions.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
No.

Speaker 5 (27:10):
So so organizations can turn things around, and you have
to be a part of it, or at least see
the idea of just hopping or running to somebody who
looks like right, you could go to that team that
you think, oh, I'm gonna go to the forty nine ers.
They didn't even make the playoffs this year, right, Things happened, injuries,
all kind of stuff. The quarterbacks not as good. All
I'm saying is you gotta be careful about about running

(27:34):
around and trying to hop on a team. The issue
thinking that you're going to get a Super Bowl out. No, no, no, no,
you're right.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
I think the thing is though, that's again to me
telling how far he believes Cleveland is away.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
Right, I'd rather go take my chance.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
But forty nine ers, who have been obviously the last
five six years showing that they are at that.

Speaker 5 (27:51):
Coupe that wasn't eight years ago that they want a
playoff game with Baker Mayfield.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
That was that was the highlight, Right, they won a
playoff game was the highlight of the last twenty five years.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
Yeah, but he hasn't been there that long.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
But I'm saying the expert that's watch this.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
If Cleveland's X they want a playoff game, and that's like, whoa, Right,
that's huge. Well, going to forty nine ers, I'm just
making it throw you as an example, they're trying to
get to a Super Bowl. Lug in right, this will
be the third if they can get to one.

Speaker 5 (28:16):
But but but if the idea is I want to
go to the Lions, is what I'm trying to say
to you is three years ago.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
That's where they're going. And but three years but get hurt.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
But three years ago he wouldn't be asking to go
to the Lions.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
Point is that you don't eat on.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Feel like he has three years to wait for them
to get good in Cleveland. That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
But I'm not saying Cleveland could make it in five.
But it could.

Speaker 5 (28:39):
But they also what if they say we're going to
eat the contract and we're gonna get Sam Donald and
we're gonna show up the offense whatever it is. They
have a good defense. They could run the football, right,
remember Nick Chubb was hurt for a while. Whatever, I'm
like saying, like, they weren't that.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
Far because you're not the defense they got.

Speaker 5 (28:57):
They run the football, that was the they they'll Those
are two very important things.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
Look at last year with the Eagles.

Speaker 5 (29:03):
I know they went to a Super Bowl and lost,
but last year it all fell apart. They added Saquon Barkley,
they shored up their lines and look at where they
are now.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
But they also had won a Super Bowl two three
years before that, Meaning I think he's looking at it
organizationally and saying we're not ready, We're too far behind.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
I'm twenty nine.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
It's not that man, unless you're going to Kansas, Unless
you think you're going to Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Well, like, like what other teams is what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
But we've been named a few.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
I think that there's a conversation we had about lines
no larger.

Speaker 5 (29:34):
So they just choked at home the year. That's where
you want to go.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
If they had their defense with eight and hunches with
that defense was not in that point FI and if
they aren't injured, that's a whole different ball game. And
I'm just saying, he feels like I'm the von Miller
to this. I'm von Miller. I go to the Rams,
I help out.

Speaker 5 (29:52):
If I go to the Bills, they get good, like yeah,
but they didn't win a Super Bowl when they went
to the Bills, but went with the Rams, so you
know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Like, he just feels like, get me in the position
where they're right there, I can see the future.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
Let me be that big component I think.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
He could wind up being James Harden too.

Speaker 4 (30:10):
No, he already ain't.

Speaker 5 (30:12):
No, But I'm just saying, where you start to bounce
around like like you gotta be careful, like you gotta
be careful because you could go to a place somebody's quarterback.
You say you would go into the Jets and Aaron
Rodgers four snaps. I'm just saying, like that could happen
to you and it set you back three.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
Or four years.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
That's all why you always injuring people.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
I'm just trying to keep you always say, because I'm
always looking at the extremes.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
Are I always what if he gets it?

Speaker 1 (30:36):
Why he can't just go somewhere and get it in
and be All you gotta do is you will't need
you to be anything.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
Chastise me when I said, what if Jared goff those
three and a seven?

Speaker 1 (30:46):
And I told you Dan clagg is right a couple
of times today? All right, shekel City on the way.
Also possibility of a big fight that would be huge
for the fight game if it happens, and Rob g
over here throwing his hands up exciting it is the.

everybody lit right now. All right, it's gonna be a
wild night in New Orleans, I can tell. And guess
what what's that? I got the signal singles for the night.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
He really does. We're not doing too much with that rob.

Speaker 7 (31:32):
That was so off putting today with the cab guy.
What we had to pay with cash? And Robert I
got it and he pulls out a stack one hundreds.

Speaker 4 (31:43):
He immediately said that the driver said.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
I could be a pastor.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Immediately, he didn't waste his time. He didn't question maybe
you were donating to the homeless. He immediately went to that.

Parker's Daily Dicks against the Spread.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
How you doing?

Speaker 3 (32:33):
All right?

Speaker 5 (32:34):
Here we go Checko City Friday one and two, twenty
nine and thirty four total. I'm not out of the park. Here,
here we go. Three Beest bets. I'm taking the Timberwolve.

Speaker 4 (32:46):
What they playing?

Speaker 3 (32:47):
I don't even know.

Speaker 10 (32:47):
I gotta look at these again, all right, you just
keep going, keep going.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
Look it up.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
I look it up for I got your bets, all right, all.

Speaker 10 (32:54):
Right, Monday, Timberwolves are playing The Timberwolves are playing the King.
There would advice from a guy that doesn't know who
they're playing. I wrote it down, but I didn't put this.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
Okay, all I see the Rockets, Rockets.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
You have the Kings for the timber Let's go to
the Rockets. The Rockets are playing The Rockets are playing
the Knicks. Currently they're down or they're up. Now, first quarter, yes, okay,
I got that. And then the last one the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies are playing the Spurs. Grizzlies minus three and

(33:31):
a half taking on the Spurs.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Aaron Fox play in Memphis?

Speaker 5 (33:36):
All right, okay, No, I figured he's not playing right
away right after the trade. So again, all right, here
we go Checko City taking the Grizzlies. The Rockets and
the Tea Wolves are my best bet. And remember Calvin,
what's that. I'm not telling you who to bet on.
I'm telling you who I bet on.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
Right, but I'm still riding. I know he's not telling
us who bet. He don't even know who he be.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
I just tell you I just didn't have to see
it in front of me, man.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
And the best part about it robb G is how
he's always looking for help.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
He'll be like, like, like who I bet? No I
did earlier?

Speaker 3 (34:15):
Like Rob, I'm never afraid to ask coming up?

Speaker 4 (34:20):
Uh? Rob G in America? The uh? And you wonder
why you gotta lose your record? Check?

Speaker 3 (34:28):
Oh wow, I'm not getting killed.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
You know you made it come back.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
The fourth quarter did big time last year last year,
so we'll give it to you. We'll have but a
couple of minutes, but you, Robber and I. You and
I quickly were talking about, uh, fresh off the plane, Yeah,
fresh off the plane, that Canelo and Bud Crawford could
be an actual thing that happens at some point in Vegas.
And how you got Bud Terrence Crawford would have to

(34:54):
go up like fifteen pounds to make that happen, which
sounds crazy because obviously Canelo much bigger than him.

Speaker 4 (35:01):
But I was saying that first of all.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
First of all, I commend if whoever's all involved promoters,
both fighters fights that people want.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
That is what the game had been missing for so long.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
And you could do the documentary on this, on the
Floyd may weatherism of boxing, where to his credit from
a personal business entrepreneur standpoint, rob he I got so good.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
I came he hurt boxing.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
And that's why I said personal because.

Speaker 5 (35:27):
And because boxing didn't have a governing body to force him.
In the old days, you had to fight. You had
to fight who was next in line. You couldn't duck
from people or they would take your belt.

Speaker 4 (35:39):
The world. But that's the thing that happened.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
I think he became infatuated with the fifty and oh,
so I can't fight somebody, I gotta fight.

Speaker 5 (35:46):
Fighting bums didn't help him because I'm gonna tell you,
we used to show the fights at the barbershop in Detroit,
like I wouldn't I wouldn't even go to all of
them because they was so boring and they were so defensive.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
And just why he bought Canello Young. He fought Pachil
too late. You know.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
He he manipulated the game. And that's the part where
I think this is good.

Speaker 5 (36:06):
But you cheat the sport and you cheat yourself, and
that's that's.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
Being considered an all time great.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Nobody just like Oscar dla Hoyer. He lost several fight
because he fought nobody, everybody. Tommy Hearns writes Sugar Ray
len when the you had to fight.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
Him to make money, you had to fight people.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
Sugar Ray Leonard fought any and every who wants to smoke,
get in front of me, get this smoke. And and
he's heralded as one of the all time greats. And
so Mayweather did hurt himself. But because he became so
entrepreneur minded, he realized, manipula put this fight here, I'm
gonna do this I'm gonna fight once a year, twice
a year.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
So he changed the game.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
So if this fight actually happens, I think this is
great not only for the two individuals, and it doesn't
matter who lose.

Speaker 4 (36:48):
It's like Lebron and the Dunk contest. It's just gonna
be great for the sport period that matter.

Speaker 5 (36:52):
If you we're gonna we're gonna rip Lebron if he loses.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
Well now we would because he's seventy two years old.

Speaker 5 (36:56):
But the other thing I want to say at the
top of the hour coming up, Yeah, we're gonna talk
about the three of us are gonna lose weight coming up,
and we're gonna give our numbers on how much we're
gonna lose.

Speaker 1 (37:05):
Shoot, I gotta get on the scale. We got a
scale a boat. Fox Sports Radio
