tyshon Tower of Trivia of course, is coming up in
our number three and last call time as well. So
there's just so much to get to on this day.
I'm sure a lot of people in the studio are

(02:20):
still a little The klempt are sad that the Lakers
did not Yes, let them cry, Let go ahead, because
everybody had the Lakers going to the NBA Finals after
they got Luca, and guess what, it didn't happen. Alex,

(02:43):
ask me if the Lakers are going to the NBA Finals, Rob,
I got.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
A question for you.

Speaker 6 (02:47):
Yes, are the Lakers going to the NBA Finals?

Speaker 7 (02:51):
Not this year?

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Sorry about that. They will not be making it.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
And we'll get all into that and talk about the
the Lakers and who's to blame and all the other stuff.
Just an amazing night the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Of course.

Moving on, all right, let's welcome in the odd Couple

Speaker 1 (03:34):
I'm with you updates. She's at the end.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Yes, you'll keep us updated throughout the program. Then Elijah, Yes,
Elijah who uh didn't even let him your name, media guru.
I barely got it out. Uh, but uh, it is
what it is, uh and what a show for you.

(03:59):
So let's start here. As I said, Kelvin will be
joining us. We want to get plenty of your phone
calls to get involved with this. And there are a
lot of angles to this, obviously, and it kills me today.
All these analysts who all had them going to the
finals now have used the.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Term all they got a Floyd roster.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Oh you know this didn't go right and players didn't
do that, yes, and all the excuses and want to
make excuses for JJ Reddick. Remember they had a great
defense during the season and he had turned that around
and all those other things.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
And on a night when ant man Anthony.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Edwards shot five for nineteen oh for eleven from three.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Guess what.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
The Timberwell still won in La at Crypto dot Com Arena.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yes, how was that possible?

Speaker 4 (05:05):
And man, that a terrible game and you had Luca
Lebron and you could not win.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Disgraceful. Do not let the Lakers off the hook.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
Do not let all of these talking heads radio, loud mouse, all.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
These people who were beating a drum.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
ESPN dot com asked their NBA reporters and writers who
were they gonna pick in this series? And I believe
it was eleven people. They all picked the Lakers, all
of them. And now, of course the Lakers have a
flawed roster. That's the way to try to save face

(05:48):
and try to protect Lebron James because of course, whenever
he loses, it's because they have a flawed roster and
because of the coaches and good right, Darvin was the problem.
And they went out and got JJ Redick, who had
no experience and he's gonna learn on the job. Who
blew Game four when he played the same five players

(06:11):
the entire second half, who didn't make any adjustments.

Speaker 5 (06:16):
Did you see.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Rudy Gobert or should I say Will Chamberlain twenty seven points,
twenty four rebounds?

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Hello?

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Is this on twenty four rebounds in a playoff?

Speaker 1 (06:28):
There was nobody there no rent protector. We talked about it.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
I told you time and time again, I didn't buy
into the Lakers.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Do you remember they were asking me.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
To apologize for JJ Reddick because.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
The Lakers were rolling when they got Luker. Oh my god,
they stole Luca. Did you see Luca.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Standing there on defense like a like a statue, People
blowing by him left and right. The Timberwolves attack because yes,
he can score points, but he gives him up on
the other end. Nico Harrison, you guys, drag that dude,
the GM of the Mavericks, du the mud. He stinks.

(07:13):
How could he make that trade? Nico Harrison slept like
a baby last night, saying that this is what he
was talking about. To win a championship, you gotta play
some defense. You can't play just one side of the court.
And my biggest point of all in saying all of

(07:34):
this is very simple and Lebron James's last three appearances
in the playoffs, the last three with the Lakers. He
is now two and twelve, two and twelve, two and
twelve with Anthony Davis and two and twelve with Luca. Really,

(07:57):
so he's had Ad and Luca on his squad, and
he's two and twelve in the NBA playoffs.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
And he looked all of forty.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Last night, I got one message to Lebron James, ay,
you deserve all of this because you keep messing around
with the teammates, the roster. At least you won a
championship with ad messing around with the roster, messing around
with the coaches. Told Darvin Ham, who took it to

(08:32):
the Western Conference finals and won an end season tournament,
you'll hang up batter.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
He was no good.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
You get your podcast partner, JJ Reddick with no experience
and guess what he got out coached and looked terrible.
And you can point to JJ Reddick, but the bottom
line remains, Lebron James should retire.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Pull the plug. Forty years is enough.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
If you're forty years, oh, how long do you want
to play? You want to keep losing, You want to
not get to the point where you're not even making
the playoffs?

Speaker 1 (09:08):
Is that the endgame?

Speaker 4 (09:10):
Lebron? Stop it already. What are you trying to do?
Because if you think the longer you play, you're actually
gonna get closer to Michael Jordan. I'm here to tell
you the longer you play, and the more you lose,
the worst off it gets. Most people don't think that

(09:30):
you're the goat anyway, But after these last three years,
how can anybody in their right mind think Lebron James
is the goat when he's two and twelve and been
knocked out of the playoffs in his last three first rounds?

Speaker 5 (09:44):
Really?

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Is that where we are? Come on, man, stop it,
pull the plug. Even Tom Brady eventually had to just
pull the plug. Pull the plug on it. It's ugly,
going to fugly enough.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Go wait till next year.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
You think he's gonna get better defensively or have more
energy in the fourth quarters as he gets older. It
doesn't even make sense to me. You don't get better
when you get older, You get slower, tired and more tired.
Go rewatch the tape and watch the game from last night.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
It was bad.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
The time has come and if Lebron can't do it,
I hope he has some friends of minions or maybe
even his family to say, hey, it's time to come
on home. You've done enough. What more do you want?
Alex Am I crazy or not?

Speaker 5 (10:44):
No, Rob, do you want to know why? It's funny?

Speaker 6 (10:45):
Because if you look at like the historic history of
the Lakers, what's the one thing that there is subserviently
always abiding by stars?

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Right?

Speaker 6 (10:53):
They let Kobe play as long as he wanted, have
his whole final farewell season. And of course he's done
a lot for him, But when do you cut your losses?

Speaker 5 (10:59):
Correct?

Speaker 6 (11:00):
And so the thing with Lebron that actually makes me laugh.
You've said everything correct, What is he really done for
the Lakers? Like, truly, he won a Disney championship when
nobody was able to play in front of fans. Congratulations,
you played in a fake arena with fake fans with
nobody around. Good job, Like, what have you done like
when it actually counts? Where have you been to show anything?
And this is the funniest thing is he's complained since

(11:20):
day one. When you say about coaches, it's funny, like
look it up, dude, I literally look this up. Oh,
Walton Walten's the problem. Let's get rid of him. So
then vocal comes in. They win a championship, Mickey Mouse one,
let's keep him around for two years. Oh they start
sucking again. We gotta get rid of him too. Here's
Darvin Ham. Oh again, we suck and we keep losing,
so now it's got to be jj Reddick, right. I
just don't think it's kind of like conceptually understandable by

(11:41):
sports fans that we're just allowing the image of Lebron
James to dominate whatever he wants now. And it's funny
because it's like we're looking up to an old man
who's passed his prime and we're still sitting here saying
he's the best in the world. Yet you just said
at literally did nothing and they won, Like, isn't that
an he walks around La saying I sent y'all homes?

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Did you see that video? Social media?

Speaker 4 (12:06):
And nobody's walking the streets of La and Rock saying
I sent y'all home. And everybody was saying, oh, the
Lakers in five not even like a close series. The
Lakers in five mean a whitewash, that they were gonna
bum rush them, that they were gonna roll over them,
and the idea that that's where they are in that
wild So.

Speaker 5 (12:25):
You gotta retire Rob. Somebody says Rob's articles they don't
hit the same Rob on the radio, It don't hit
the same You gotta retire?

Speaker 8 (12:35):
Is that what you're saying no, you don't have to
retire with you when you're forty years old playing in
the NBA and you can't defend anybody, and you can
have the same thing happen over and over and you
play a fourth quarter where you get no points.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
That is not the Lebron James that we know. Come on, man,
you know it. I know it, And to continue to watch.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
This is crazy. He doesn't have to retire. What he
has to do is acknowledge that he can no longer
be the best player and to be on a championship
caliber team, he can't even be the second best player.
That's just not a reality to be able to depend
on him at this point. You mentioned on the defensive
end of the side of the ball. Absolutely, you're right.

(13:21):
And if you're Rob Polinka, you can't pair a forty
something year old who can defend like he used to
with a guy in Luca who doesn't defend. And while
you go more on Lebron, mine is more on Luca.
This has to be Luca's nineteen eighty four from Magic
loses to Bird and them in the finals. They called

(13:42):
him tragic Magic, and he said, you know what, I'm
not as good as I think I am. I have
to get better. And he dedicated himself to his game,
to his craft and got a bag of new tricks,
started shooting the jumper, more knockdown free throws. That has
to be Luca. Luca, you've been good, good to great.
You gotta lock arm and arm lebron. What do you

(14:04):
do to get in shape?

Speaker 9 (14:06):
Now?

Speaker 5 (14:06):
Going home? You got two weeks to go home and
that's it. You gotta come back. You have to work out,
You have to invest, You have to get better. You
don't always have to start the offense from forty feet
away from the basket. How about you go back to
the Kobe Carmelo, Paul Pierce, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, all
those guys who start at the elbow. Why does Luca
always have to be dribbling million times at the top?

(14:27):
And to me, Luca has to say, I'm the twenty
five year old of entering his prime. I'm the new
face of this franchise. I have to be better. I
can't be coming down, always breaking down at the end
of the season. I have to put in and become better.
I'm Michael Jordan. You got a bunch of scoring titles,
you fly through the air. You got a couple of
dunk contests, but you ain't beating the pistons. And he

(14:51):
went away. What did he do? He got stronger, he
got better, he figured it out. And Luca this is
his figure it out season. To me, he need to
You're good, Luke, we all know how good you are,
but can you become that next level of greatness? And
to me, that's what this summer is for me. Dedicate yourself.
Lock into the gym, not just all a shooting. I'm shooting. No,

(15:12):
lock into everything so you can get to that level
of greatness that we believe you can. And Rob Lincoln, yeah,
you landed the big shark, the big whale and Luca,
but we all literally knew, even those who thought they
could win the series all knew they didn't have enough upfront.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
That's that's BS.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
How can you sit here and say, after after all
these people picked them to go to the finals, now
because they lost, they don't have enough.

Speaker 5 (15:41):
No, No, because you're freaking rop you can know something.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
Be officient them said they were coming back from they
were gonna win the next three games.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
How did you go to that? To that? If they
don't have enough.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
Well, they said that yesterday they're picking a seven. That
was me just he's and saying the Lakers and Pistons
and seven. That was a whole different thing. But they absolutely,
we all knew they needed size. That's why everybody was
excited they got Mark Williams. Size was never a question.
You just assumed, not literally you, Rob Parker, but one
would assume, well, Luke and Lebron and obviously the Austin
Reeds you can be enough side was always needed. But

(16:20):
I agree there's no way you can let Rudy Gobert
look like Rudy abdul Jabbar. That is just blasphemous. Then
you absolutely can't have that. So they absolutely have to
find a remedy for that at some point because that
is problematic. Now, the last one I'll make Rob real
quick for me. When you and I made our preseason picks,
who's going to the NBA Finals, I believe it correct

(16:40):
me Frong. You had the Nuggets and the Celtics. I
had the Timberwolves in the Celtics and I didn't expect
them to beat the Lakers. I'm not gonna I'm not
gonna sit up here in front of you, but The
reason I picked the timber Wolves originally is because of
what I expected them to do the last twenty five games.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
They but but but given that, you still didn't pick
them when the series came around. Because no, No, because you
because you believe that the Lakers had enough.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
You believe, you believe that.

Speaker 5 (17:07):
I was about to say, I want up you. You're right,
you can take out the errors. Luke and Lebron.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
And everybody else. Hook Line and Sinker and the Ban
ain't the same guy. And the reason now you're looking
and look, now you're looking. When Nico Harrison talks about
you need defense to win championships, and everybody mocked him
and all that about Luca, Luca don't look as great
as he did before he came on this trade or

(17:35):
last year he does it.

Speaker 5 (17:36):
Here's the one.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
You watched that game last night.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
There ain't no way you can look at that and go,
he's gonna get better defensively.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
You really believe that. That's where we fundamentally disagree. I
don't need him to be better if I'm building around that.
I've named you ten twelve guys who are champions, sometimes
multiple champions. Dark Navince can, Rob Parker right now, but
he's a champion. Yokis couldn't guard Rob Parker Kevin Washington

(18:04):
right now, He's a champion. Steph Curry has never been
Gary Payton when it comes to the defense, Larry Bird
was never I can go down the line who were
never that great. My point is you have to build
around that. So that is exactly what you have to do,
knowing these are his shortcomings, knowing Shaq doesn't build free throes,
but I can do this around him, Knowing that this
champion here doesn't do this, but I can build around that.

(18:26):
That's just that's my job and responsibility as a general
manager to understand your shortcomings because literally, Michael Jordan and
maybe Pete Lebron and if you want to say Pete
Kobe are like the only perfect guys here or there,
meaning everyone has some deficiencies, but you coached around that.
I know Shaq can't shoot threes and shoot free thos,

(18:46):
so I have what do I have? Literal spot up
shooters all around him everywhere he's gone, and I have
a guard and at Kobe or Dwayne Wade or Penny Hardaway.
That's my job. So Luca is never going to be
a great defender. What I want is effort. What I
want you to be in the best shape. Do the
rest what you're doing scoring, and I will build to
round that because that is not your fourteen.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
It just that that whole thing, just i'ma be honest,
makes no sense. They were in a do or die
game at home, right in a chance to did you
watch the defense? This was your chance to make a
comeback to stop that to win. Nobody expect Minnesota to win.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
In a in a an elimination game.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
In L three And did you watch three? I mean
you and you couldn't get up for that game? What
what are you getting up for next year?

Speaker 5 (19:33):
And to add to the problem in this is why
I have issues with with Lebron and Luca, but specifically Luca.
For me, you guys going to the fourth quarter? What
were they down?

Speaker 3 (19:43):
Ian?

Speaker 5 (19:43):
Were they down one?

Speaker 9 (19:44):
In? Ian?

Speaker 5 (19:46):
Ain't paying me no to Ian? Were they down? I
think they were down one starting the fourth or maybe
the up one. It was like within a one or
two point game. My point is they showed on the
screen during the game the point in differential in the
fourth quarter. Every game it was plus six for the
Timbrolds plus plus thirteen, plus eight, and then they go
into this for saying, what's gonna happen and exactly what
had happened the previous four games is what happened. Were

(20:08):
they the Lakers you thought would be the ones who
could execute. Maybe it was a tight nick and nipin
tug game, but you expected Luca and Lebron and Austin
Reeds to execute towards the end. And that's where I'm
most disappointed was that they didn't. That's the that's the
advantage they were supposed to have. If it's five minutes
left and it's a plus or minus four point game,
and I got Luca and Lebron that all right?

Speaker 4 (20:31):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. I'm saying Lebron
has to retire. Retire, step beside. It doesn't matter what
he's doing. I'm telling you what he needs to do.
It's a difference between the two. I'm telling you he
needs to retire. And you can sit there all day
and talk about hoping that Luca's gonna play defense next year.

(20:53):
Good luck with that, because that ain't happening. He ain't
playing defense at twenty five. He ain't playing defense at third.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
Ronald may make all time third NBA team has to
retire Rop Come.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
On eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox after that
performance two and twelve in the postseason. It's a TV
theme song Thursday, Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington right here on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Stick and stay.

Speaker 6 (21:17):
If you also believe the Lakers should finally wise up
and just trade Lebron in the US of A.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple

(22:00):
take your calls here in just a minute about, of course,
the Lakers. Who's the blame shuitlod Bron retire? Rob says yes,
of course I say no, but we're gonna check in
with Monzie Blanio see what's trending. First.

Speaker 10 (22:10):
Well, fellas, we do have some win or go home
games today. In the NBA, the Pistons are going to
try enforce the Game seven against the Knicks. Tip off
is any minute from Detroit, literally seven thirty eastern. Then
the Clippers are gonna try to keep their season live
as they host the Nuggets for their Game six from
into It Dome with tipoff at ten Eastern. John halliber
and the father of Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburn, will not

(22:32):
be attending Pacers games for the foreseeable future because of
his actions towards bucks Ford Janna Sante te Koompo. After
last Tuesday's Game five, he met with the front office
and accepted the decision to not attend any home or
road games in person in the near future. These Stanley
Cup Playoffs continue right now. There is Game six going
on between the Maple Leaves and the Senators. Toronto leads

(22:54):
this series three to two. They are scoreless with eight
minutes to go in the first period. In baseball, two
games current going on Nationals Phillies bottom of the fourth inning,
they're scoreless. Red Sox Blue Jay's top of the second
also scoreless, but earlier today, the Guardians edged the Twins
four to three to ten innings. Osera Midez scored the
game winning run and became the first player in Cleveland
franchise history to reach two hundred and fifty career homers

(23:16):
and two hundred and fifty steals and Juan Soda homer
for the first time this season, first time as a Met,
in fact, two solo homers.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
But that didn't matter.

Speaker 10 (23:24):
Arizona still beat the Mets four to two.

Speaker 5 (23:26):
Back to you guys, all right, Manti, thank you so much.
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox again,
Rob and I have the conversation. Obviously, the Lakers lose
to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Rob Leie, you can go
ahead say I want to speak for you, Rob.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
Yeah, Lebron should step down, retire, whatever you want to
call it. Just call it a career two and twelve
in his last three playoff performances. That's a goat. That's
an all time great. Like, you don't want to go
out like that. The longer you play and the longer
you lose, that's what people gonna remember, and I think
it's a mistake. Nothing here, You're not You don't get

(24:01):
better as you get older. And now you got another
guy who doesn't play defense. So what what are you
going to win? You're not gonna win a championship eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox, we got plenty of people
want to jump in.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
We're gonna try to get to as many people as possible.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
Tim in Atlanta, you're on the YD couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Chili, Tim, what's up?

Speaker 9 (24:22):
Hey?

Speaker 11 (24:22):
What's up? How you guys doing?

Speaker 5 (24:24):
What's up? Tim?

Speaker 12 (24:25):
Good? Uh?

Speaker 11 (24:27):
Kelvin, I've heard you and other people say about adding, uh,
you know people around Luca. Isn't that what Nico Harrison
did when we got PJ. Washington and Berry Glavel and
those guys, and he saws I built a team around him,
Yet he still didn't play defense. He was a defensive
liability against those wings as the Celtis. So it's easy
to say build a team around him. But Nico he

(24:49):
did that.

Speaker 5 (24:50):
Yeah right right, Wait, wait, bit Chilli, Chilli, chilli, You
kind of I feel like you proved my point. He
built out.

Speaker 11 (24:55):
What I'm saying is you're saying is easy to do.
But I'm saying it's still not going the work because
Nico Harris did it and it didn't Wait.

Speaker 5 (25:03):
Wait wait wait, Chili, you're still confusing me. It didn't work.
But he got to the finals.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
No, they no, they didn't win.

Speaker 5 (25:08):
They didn't wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait
hold on, No, it's about winning, Nick and yell winning.
The Celtics didn't win the first time they went with
his generation. So my point is, hold on, hold on, Chili.
So my point is if you put if you put
it around them. Let's say he never was traded, right,
Let's just say, and he stuck with them and they
were grinding. They said they got to the finals. They
won it this year. My point is you build around

(25:30):
he got to the finals the year.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
Like Kevin.

Speaker 11 (25:35):
But Kevin, let me tell you this before I go.
Here's the point. Nico Harris said, I did it, and
I saw enough base He said it won't get better.
See he did it, but he said it won't get
He didn't see the future getting better. He said, I
don't see this guy improving.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
So that's my Chili.

Speaker 11 (25:50):
Do it, but he won't improve.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
Chili, did you watch the Timberwolves go at Luca time
and time almost they just kept.

Speaker 5 (25:58):
Going at trade Steph Curry. Let me ask both of
you a question, Chilie, Tim and Ron Parker, did we
not you watch for four years straight in the finals
the Cavaliers literally pick at Steph Curry. So Steph Curry
go away, retire, He's never gonna work.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
No, no, no no.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
They had to go get Kevin Durant in order to
turn that around, right, So what.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
I'm saying, that's my point, Thank you, Chilie. So my
point is exactly, they literally Kyrie and Lebron licked their
chops for years to go as Steph Curry in the finals.
I'm saying, they're going to guys who who are to
have deficiencies. I'm not denying that. Nobody's expecting Luca to
become Ron our tests.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
Or what aren't talking about. He gonna be worked out
with Lebron in the summer.

Speaker 5 (26:38):
That's to get it, that's to get in better shape.
I didn't say anything about becoming defender around. Don't do that.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Jerome and Charleston. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, Jerome?

Speaker 13 (26:47):
Let me just be blunt Okay, Lebron jamsers drug, a
damn team, the thirty.

Speaker 7 (26:53):
Something wins with no damn bench, no damn run protection,
a damn podcast as his coach, and a white superstar
who can't go a damn statue. Now, you tell me
how the hell you s win with that?

Speaker 1 (27:09):
I don't know, because everybody picked him to win.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
And Kelvin on this very radio show kept talking about
how good they were defensively and all the bad teams
they play. Jerome, when you get in the finals, you
got when you get into playoffs, you're playing better teams,
and that's the issue. You can do that during the
regular season. You can put makeup on a pig and
everybody think it's great. I never bought into the Lakers,

(27:35):
not for one minute, even with Luca.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
Never.

Speaker 7 (27:38):
Hey Ron, he ro Tom Camvin to carry his ass
back to school because he got a lot more learning
to do.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
Thank you, well, he just switched up? Did he just up?

Speaker 9 (27:48):
Go?

Speaker 5 (27:49):
He just switched up? I don't know what he talking
about that point hour.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
Somewhere, Caesar, you're under the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
What's up?

Speaker 11 (28:00):
What's up?

Speaker 7 (28:00):
Rob?

Speaker 14 (28:00):
With Calvin and join the show.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
Rob, I just.

Speaker 14 (28:03):
Want to remind you that they know that the time
is coming and Lebron's gonna retire, and that was the
origin of the trade, to prepare.

Speaker 12 (28:13):
For his departure.

Speaker 14 (28:14):
I think we forget that the trade made Dallas supposed
to be and win now mode because it's a great
point and we all knew that the Lakers didn't have
a center and good, we know you're not gonna win
without a.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
Caesar Caesar Plick.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
I want you to be honest. No, I want you
to be honest. I'm gonna ask you a question. I
want you to be honest. Yeah, you expected them to
lose to the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games?

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Is that what you're telling me?

Speaker 14 (28:43):
I'm I'm a Bronze fanatic, So.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
I'm asking you.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
Did you expect them to lose to the Minnesota Timberwolves
in five games?

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Just or no?

Speaker 14 (28:52):
I'm a I'm a bron fan, so no, I expected
him to go.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
Okay, all right, thank you, thank you for the I
just want you to be honest.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (28:58):
Uh Antonio in my I am but you're in the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (29:02):
I don't know what the discussion is here, Calvin, I
don't know if Rob's giving you wings under the table
just to give him a pushback. But there's no discussion.
He Lebron James. This is all of his he's got,
he's got the wrong coach. Can't coach, Uh can't coach.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
Can't coach. That's the podcaster. He can't coach.

Speaker 9 (29:27):
Also, also Calvin Luka, Doncics. They have a lot to
work with here, He's got a lot to work. This
guy can't guard a parking spot at Winn Dixie at midnight.

Speaker 5 (29:41):
Wait, so okay, let me ask you this, Antonio so
Luka Doncics can't guard anybody. You knew that a week ago, right, yes,
So why are we Nobody who in the world said
he can defend? Like whoever was Like you woke up and.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
They thought that you could you could win despite that.
This is what Nico Harrison what's saying.

Speaker 7 (30:01):
You know what he's saying.

Speaker 5 (30:02):
It continues to prove my point. He put a team
around him. They got to the finals. Now you continue
if you're the players, you can't win.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
He didn't talk about getting to the finals. He said winning.

Speaker 5 (30:12):
And what I'm saying, do you know how many people
get to the finals and they don't necessarily win their
first time I'll out, let's do another person, Kevin Durant.
So my point is Lebron doesn't win his first time around.
It is when you.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
Start player can't guard anybody.

Speaker 5 (30:25):
My god, how time did one apple? Or you put
people around him and you run it back? Now, if
you're why would I retire as Lebron James when I
had three months with Luca. Now I get an entire
offseason for us to continue to jail lock in. Rob
Plinker has to continue to earn his keep and build
a team around that.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
But why say about locking?

Speaker 5 (30:45):
Why would I retire from Lebron when I just averaged
twenty four or eight and eight or whatever it was.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
No, you didn't did you watch the fourth quarters? Kelvin?
Did you watch the zero points? He didn't average no
twenty fourth points in the fourth quarter?

Speaker 4 (30:58):
Nobody got tired as he got old as the game's
war on.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
That's the issue.

Speaker 5 (31:04):
There's no way you could watch this entire full what
just happened season? And the equation is Lebron should retire.
You can be mad at him for he didn't show up,
he didn't perform.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Well or twelve entire playoff Fantasy two and twelve.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
That's Lebron James two and twelve in his last three postseasons. Hey,
Bill in Lincoln, California, you're on the odd couple. Fox
Sports Radios.

Speaker 12 (31:29):
Thank you, Thank you.

Speaker 5 (31:30):
What's up? Bill?

Speaker 12 (31:31):
Yeah, I just want to take the quiet part out loud.
I mean, Luca looks over weight. I mean he he
looks kind of I mean, I don't want to say slow,
but he looks over weight, and he just ripples the
ball too much. I mean, it's just his offense is
just as much as part of the problems the defense.
It slows the team down too much. ISO.

Speaker 5 (31:50):
Yeah, and that's and Bill, thank you for the call. Bill.
That's why I don't know what part you heard or
not when I mentioned one thing I would love Luca
to do is realize him and and Lebron. Actually, I'm
surprised Lebron twenty some years ever did more of this
start at the elbow like Kobe Bryant did, like Tracey McGrady,
like Paul Pierce. Did Jordan start Kawhi Leonard when he
was really in his bag. You don't always have to

(32:12):
be thirty five forty feet out. It's Okay, to start
at the elbow and make it easy on yourself because
you're an amazing passer, amazing postplay. You're gonna draw double teams.
You don't have to be the orbits of everything the
outside all the way forty feet. So that's one thing
I would love for him to do more.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
All Right, to guy who own owes me wings for
a bet, is now fling Kevin from Culver City, Kevin,
I want you to own up to the bet we
had and tell me that I was right and that
you were wrong.

Speaker 5 (32:42):
All the time.

Speaker 15 (32:43):
Let me tell you something unclearav is right, He's right
on that point, but you're wrong on this. Lebron should
not be retiring. He had a great postseason scoring wide.
He was tired and fatt in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 13 (32:58):
Luka Dakas was overweight when he put up all those
numbers against Dallas and Dallas when we said, oh he's
on fire, he was overweight when they beat Denver and
he was the best player on the court.

Speaker 15 (33:07):
He was overweight and okay, see when he was scoring.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
Did you watch the players? Did you watch this series
at all? Did you watch this did you watch yesterday?

Speaker 13 (33:14):
Series? But look the Lakers the bigger problems. The Lakers
need to get that help. Is it gonna be a
Kevin Durant? You trade Austin Reeves for Kevin Durant?

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Do you know you told me you had that.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
Austin Reeves and Lebron and Luca they were your big three?
Everybody who crowned all Austin Rees.

Speaker 13 (33:32):
Are you kidding Austin? Austin Reeves can't play with Luca
donkeys because he's a ball handler himself.

Speaker 15 (33:38):
He needs the ball in his hands.

Speaker 13 (33:39):
They need to get a shooter like a Miles Bridges,
Kevin Durant, Paul Turge, that type of player who could
play off the ball and shoot the ball and play defense.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Michael Jordan, Kevin, when am I getting my wins? That's
all I want to know?

Speaker 5 (33:56):
Okay, and get some rim protection?

Speaker 13 (33:58):
Nick Richards or yes, I got you?

Speaker 4 (34:03):
Trey in Texas. You're on the EYD couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up, Tray?

Speaker 14 (34:08):
All I gotta say is Luca waistlines, Lebron hairlines, reset lines.

Speaker 5 (34:17):
You were supposed to ending with timber Wolves in five?

Speaker 1 (34:22):
Thank you, beautiful.

Speaker 5 (34:24):
Hey, that was funny. I got to give him that.
That was very good. Man one last line, hairline, stat line,
Wolves and five. That was good.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
Christopher in Boulder, you're on the eyd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
What's up, Christopher?

Speaker 13 (34:38):
Hey?

Speaker 11 (34:39):
Once while we have as humans is that we stay
too long.

Speaker 13 (34:42):
We might stay at a job, yes or whatever. But
here's the thing.

Speaker 15 (34:47):
You really want to see Bobby Brown stumbling up the
stage trying to catch his breath in a new addition
to it, you want to remember him in his prime.

Speaker 11 (34:55):
That's my point.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
No doubt ways people stay.

Speaker 5 (34:59):
I don't know. I feel like I missed some because
I feel like Lebron put up twenty four and eight
to eight or whatever it was. I feel like I
missed something in.

Speaker 16 (35:05):
I just feel like there's a big gap between being
one of the great players in NBA history and needing
to retire like he doesn't. It's just because he's not
as dominant as he once was doesn't mean that he
nowics to retire.

Speaker 5 (35:18):
He literally might be thirteen all ANBA, he gotta retire.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
I and he's two and twelve in the postseas, did
you hear what I said?

Speaker 9 (35:24):
No?

Speaker 16 (35:24):
I get that, but the eye test, no, no, No,
he's watching the game. He's not he's a great player.
So you want him to get swept or not make
the playoffs?

Speaker 4 (35:32):
No, want I want Luca to get better. Luca's not
going to get any better. You're getting the best hand,
and that's a twenty five year old version.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
He's not gonna get better.

Speaker 5 (35:42):
Do you know many literally superstars got better?

Speaker 4 (35:45):
No, I don't know any who were terrible defensively? Who
got better? I don't know any.

Speaker 5 (35:50):
Oh, then I will gladly name several. And I'm tired
of naming it for you. Got keep naming him for you.
His name is Shaquille O'Neil, Steph Curry, Larry Larry Bird,
Derk Davinsky. How much me more do you want me
to name I'll tell you, boy. We got Secle City
on deck. We'll see how Rob did. Maybe he did
better than that than he just did. Right now, Rob Harcer,
Kevin Washington.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
I'm killing it today.

Speaker 5 (36:11):
I'm on TV on Thursday.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
Absolutely everybody knows I'm right.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
Lebron should hang it up, retire and think the madness.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
We've seen this rerun already enough.

Speaker 5 (36:25):
This is what I did with your Fox Sports radio

about this. Let's tell him about the fact that we

(36:47):
and it was also confusing. My wife and I did

people's Lives Boy, American Idol, Fox Sports Radio Robin kelviniid
Couple on ATV theme song Thursday. We're broadcasting live from
the Fox Sports Radio studios and it's signed now for
Shekel City.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
Come two, Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parkers Day,
Dicks against the.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
Scrap All right, here we go one and two last night,
one fourteen and one seventeen is the total. My best bet,
I'm taking the Clippers minus six and a half at home.
They forced us to a game seven, uh in Denver,
So I'm gonna go with the Clippers tonight. I got

(38:28):
the Knicks plus one and a half.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
In Detroit to end this series as well. To end
this series, I should say yeah and move on. And
then I have the Tigers and the.

Speaker 4 (38:38):
Angels over eight and a half runs combined for the
two teams. So the Tigers at the Angels over eight
and a half runs.

Speaker 5 (38:47):
I'm shocking four and a half points. What's that said,
I'm shocked. You weren't. I weren't at that game.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
No, I can't make it. I'm on my way Towa Atlanta.

Speaker 5 (38:55):
I know that you have better things to think of.

Speaker 4 (38:58):
Yes, and I'm gonna get there, and the other one
is the Clippers minus six and a half.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
So remember, Kelvin, I'm not telling you who'd have bet on.
I'm telling you who I got it.

Speaker 5 (39:09):
Well, I'm upset right now because one of your bets
is back on Nicks right now, are thashing the Pistons
shots going now, let me say, I think it's twenty
eight fifteen. Obviously it's plenty of times still four left
in the first but Jalen Brunson looks like, yeah, he
looks like at four was it four or five and
nineteen or whatever he was last game, said one that

(39:30):
ain't happening to night he on the mission Pistons kid,
that would be, that would be they would have lost
what three games, all the home games the Pistons. That's crazy.
And again, you know, obviously you've watched like they've outplayed
the next with a majority of it, not all of it, obviously,
but the Knicks have mister Cutch Player of the Year
in Jalen brunts and so keep that in mind as

(39:52):
the game gets you know, if it ends up being
a close one down the stretch. But yeah, they this
is this has been a good series for the Pistons, though,
as you know, you used to spend one of the
years there. You remember how it goes, especially those early
Pistons with Stackhouse and then they kind of had to
go through it. Then the Chauncey and Rip early year
or two before they.

Speaker 4 (40:08):
Can really say, though it is the Eastern Conference is tough.
I mean, it's getting there finally, but but it's an
Eastern Conference has a lot of good teams as well.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
So it'll be interesting to see what they do next year.

Speaker 5 (40:19):
Cause you're right, Orlando's goetna get better, you know, if
everything stays as it is. Obviously not going anywhere.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
Boston not going anywhere.

Speaker 4 (40:27):
You got the Knicks, you got pacers, Pacers aren't going anywhere.

Speaker 5 (40:31):
I don't know what to make of the bus.

Speaker 4 (40:33):
There's about eight teams, you know what I mean, like
really good teams, and I'm not saying that the Pistons
aren't a part of that.

Speaker 1 (40:38):
They made the playoffs, right, But it'll be tough.

Speaker 5 (40:41):
It's just good because they've been the Leastern Conference for
so long where they were just top heavy. They'd always
have one maybe you know, one of two teams and
then they'd be Boston in Detroit, you know, back in
the mid to late two thousands and then or be
Lebron and Cleveland and the Bulls for a year, a
couple of years with day Russ, and then after that
it'll be whack. So it's good to see that they're
actually the conference just starting to, you know what I mean,

(41:01):
compete and become a real like all right, because if
Cleveland were to win this year, Boston were to win
this year, uh you know, obviously you thought Milwaukee a
couple of years ago. But good to see that because
the Eastern Conference was triz ast for quite some time. Man, Alright,
it's the odd couple. Fox Sports Radio, stay with you, boys,
