Speaker 8 (05:11):
I'm doing very good today. Happy to be here on
Merry Christmas Eve with you fellas.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
No doubt, And of course Isaac long Kron will be
by right to give us some updates as we go
on to this very fine radio show.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
And I should say.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
Stress from work, money, working on the holidays on the
radio and family doesn't just disappear at night, It follows
you into the bedroom.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
That's where Rugi at ready comes in.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
It's a prescription treatment design to help prime your brain
in these moments. Head to Rugie at dot com slash
fsr to get your fifteen percent off your order. That's
our U G I e T dot com slash fsr.
And we are going to talk to Antonio Daniels do
some NBA stuff coming up at the bottom of the hour.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
So we got a lot to get to Martin.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
But first, this happened is going on in Baltimore, Lee,
and we should say somehow, some way, with the awful
season the Wavens have had, they're not out of it.
If the Steelers would have lose their last two games
and the Ravens would have win their last two games,
they could actually win a division.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
So it's not out of reach.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
But there's a columnist down in Baltimore not too happy
with one, mister Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
That's right, Rob.

Speaker 8 (06:27):
Yeah, somebody in Baltimore is gonna get col in their
stocking this evening. And that is whether it is Lamar
Jackson or Baltimore's sons. Mike Preston, who wrote a column
titled Ravens Lamar Jackson are at a Crossroads. In this column,
Preston claims that the star quarterbacks off field habits, specifically
alluding to him playing video games late at night and
falling asleep in team meetings is rubbing the team the

(06:49):
wrong way. But he also accuses the Ravens of accommodating
the twenty eight year old's behavior, including holding practices later
in the afternoon opposed to the morning, which most teams do.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
All Right, I'm gonna say this, Martin Lamar is not
without blame. Okay, it's been a bad year, we get it.
This isn't what we're used to. This guy, right, a
ton of injury, But this guy is usually in the
mix for MVP. He's that kind of play. Last year,
I think he got robbed. He didn't win the MVP.
He was the first team All Pro quarterback, but he

(07:22):
didn't the first team you know, all NFL.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
But he didn't get the MVP, which just normally doesn't happen.

Speaker 5 (07:29):
But in this case, and I'm not saying that Lamar
is without blame, because there's plenty of blame to go
around for this ridiculous Baltimore Ravens team.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
First of all, they have six Pro Bowlers.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
Right, but like that ties the amount for all the teams,
Like three or four teams have six guys, Like that's
the best you can do.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
So they actually have talent. We've seen this team.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
Lamar started the first three or four games, like as
well as you can play at the quarterback position. They
went up to Buffalo, scored forty points and lost. Derek
Henry's fumbling Zay Flowers who made the Pro Bowl, who
had three two.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
Touchdowns and three fumbles. He made the Pro Ball.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
I mean like, like seriously, and he's always fumbling.

Speaker 10 (08:21):
The Pro Bowl is voting needs to be addressed.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
I'll just say it's ridiculous. But I just want to
want to get this right.

Speaker 5 (08:30):
I'm sorry the column I appreciate a local columnist going
after the big dog and writing those kinds of columns.
That's what I did when I was a columnist in
Detroit and New York and whatnot. So I get that,
and I appreciate that because most local guys are homers
and they don't want to, you know, ruffle of feathers
of the big guys that they need to talk to.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
But in this case, if.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
You're not writing about John Harbaugh and what has happened
to the Ravens blowing leads, go Look, they've lost twelve
double digit leads in the last few years under John Harbaugh.
I know he won a Super Bowl. It's a long
time ago. They got way too much talents. We just
talked about it. Six Pro bowlers, they got an MVP

(09:18):
type quarterback, they got.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
Everything you need.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
Go back and look at most predictions about who's coming
out of the AFC, and I say eighty percent had
the Ravens because they.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Looked at the roster, looked at the team.

Speaker 10 (09:32):
They were said, I got betting favorite at the start
of the season. There you go, like before before Thursday
night kickoff, they were the favorite in the AFC to
win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
And here we are, and now we're gonna pile on
Lamar John Harbaugh.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
She gets the blame.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
And here the last thing, how many games and situations
And I'm not making an excuse. I talked about the
Derek Henry fumbles. How many balls are dropped touchdowns? Like unbelievable?
Did you see.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
Who else was?

Speaker 5 (10:08):
Jay Flowers had one In the last game. Mark Andrews
had another fumble. You remember two years ago last year
against Buffalo the two point conversion of tier game. Remember
that drop. I could go on and on and on
about these games. In the AFC Championship game against the Chiefs,
Jay Flowers fumbles at the one yard line going into

(10:28):
the into the Enzo change.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
The whole game.

Speaker 5 (10:30):
They lost that game by five, right, So there's been
a lot of stuff going on. But if I'm going
to point a finger at anybody, Martin.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
It's gonna be John Harbar. He should be fired after
the season.

Speaker 10 (10:42):
I'm also pointing the finger at John Harbar. And to
your point, you and I have you. Obviously, Peg did
a lot more ink spilling than I did. But we
both went to Jay School and have a concept of
how local versus national media works.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
And that's a big difference. This article is.

Speaker 10 (10:58):
Getting written because somebody is somebody is comfortable enough to
say something is going to be There is a grand
canyon crack here that will not be filled right no
matter how you don't go scorched earth in this way
unless you know that you're saying, you gotta have a
good plug in.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
And to me, I'm not about to try to guess
the source.

Speaker 10 (11:20):
But one of the things that's interesting about Lamar Jackson,
if you follow his career, he doesn't have an agent
at this point.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
I don't think I'm telling secrets.

Speaker 10 (11:27):
When you find out that your national guys that are
doing the reporting, you're Adam Scepters or Ian rap Reports,
you name them. Those are just two of the more
prominent they're reporting with agents are telling.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
Them they're in bed with agents.

Speaker 10 (11:39):
And that doesn't mean what the agent is telling them
is false, right, But they're report are telling them they
are not in the locker room every day.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
They're not in the locker room.

Speaker 5 (11:47):
It's not the way of breaking stories in the old days,
where you had to really be around and you had
to dig and talk to people.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
A lot of stuff has fed to them.

Speaker 10 (11:54):
Mike Preston has been covering the Baltimore Ravens is nineteen
eighty three.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
I was born in nineteen eighty.

Speaker 10 (11:59):
Nine, right, So he's had this job long than I've
had my life, right, So you know, I'm telling me,
he knows everyone in the building, right, especially when you
consider that John Harbo has been there for almost twenty
years himself, So that's almost twenty years of a working
relationship between that him does two. Specifically, writing this to
me is the writing on them, because you you nailed

(12:20):
it on the head. The Lamar's injuries have masked the
fact that the Ravens have underachieved year after year, year
after year after year.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
You say the first year thing, that always disappointing. But
here's the thing.

Speaker 10 (12:33):
When they when Lamar got hurt this year, right, and
he got hurt early in the season, they had already
dropped to your point, that Buffalo game where they scored
forty points in regulation on the road, already dropped that
with a healthy Lamar Jackson. Lamar gets hurt, the team
falls off a cliff, the team craters. The only person
who's responsible for that is the head coach. And then

(12:57):
later on down the line, as he's coming back, said,
do you know what, John Harbor, what's gonna change.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
After the buye? Well, after the buy we're gonna get
our quarterback back. Well, guess what quarterback didn't come back?

Speaker 10 (13:05):
He there's a level of disconnect between the two of
them even so much, the most recent example being this week.
Lamar Jackson, in his postgame press conference said, I had
a tour doll shot on my back and was unable
to finish the game because I was hurt. Right, You're
not getting a painkiller for fun, right, You getting a painkiller?
Try to get out there and play. John Harbaugh said, well,

(13:27):
you know, we were really sure what was happening with
the quarterback.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Like, even if you weren't sure, you cover for the guy.

Speaker 10 (13:34):
If that's your guy, right, even if you're not sure,
I'm telling you it is. Andy Reid is not about
to go out and say, well, I don't know what
Patrick was doing. He's gonna say we all have to
get better, we all have to work on it. Sean
McDermott is not gonna go and say that. You know,
you know what Josh Allen really needs to do. He
really needs to exhibit more leadership. Right, No, we're all
in this together. This is a guy This is a
savior desk type of move out of the Balton Ravens organization.

(13:58):
Feels like it there's a split coming. And guess what,
Lamar has got a longer contract than you do power right.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
And I'm sorry it's hard to you're moving Lamar and
staying with John Harbor.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
That's your choice.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
I don't know how that could be the choice when
you've underachieved every year the Ravens lose and you feel like, right,
a wasted opportunity.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
They got six Pro Bowlers and they're under five hundred.

Speaker 5 (14:23):
Right, that tells you all you need to know. That
tells you how much talent this team has. And Derrick
Henry has turned into a fumble machine, my goodness, gracious.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
But even still, no, I'm with all of that.

Speaker 10 (14:35):
I'll give that first game.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
I'm it was never a fumble guy. Guys get older,
especially a running back.

Speaker 10 (14:44):
You know, it's kind of I don't want to say
he's falling off a cliff, because you see he still
has got it, but he's lost a step in his game.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
But even with all of that, you have an MVP
level quarterback.

Speaker 10 (14:53):
You're not accepting that type of reasoning in Buffalo or
in Kansas City? Right, when could you have that type
of quarterback and that type of roster and infrastructure.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
I think that's the difference in Baltimore.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, We
are love here on Christmas Eve. We love that, Thank you, Bill.
Who's the blame?

Speaker 4 (15:17):
What is it, Mike.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
Preston, I'm sorry, Mike Preston. Right down in Baltimore, he's
saying Lamar he's sleeping at meetings. They don't want to
have practice earl. Like all this stuff's been going on
when Lamar was winning the MVPs. But now you know
it's a problem because they're and they're not even eliminated
from the playoffs, which is another thing that's weird.

Speaker 10 (15:36):
You know, just quickly to this is why I find
Remember when Lamar came back and the report was they
took all the video games out of the locker room.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
Because Lamar said it. So which one is it? Right?
Is he twenty two? Like maybe they.

Speaker 10 (15:48):
Should have put kept him in the locker room and
he'd be going.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
To sleep with early.

Speaker 5 (15:51):
But this might be like you remember Terry Francona with
the Red Sox, the biscuits and fried chicken and beer
that they would you know, in the clubhouse, right came
like a country club.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
But anyway, eight.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
Seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, We want to hear
from you who's the blame the Baltimore Ravens mess John
Harbaugh the coach, or is it Lamar Jackson, the MVP
type quarterback?

Speaker 4 (16:14):
Who is it? We want to hear from you on
this worship Wednesday.

Speaker 5 (16:18):

Speaker 12 (16:51):

here's how Dan Patrick described us when he came on
our show.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
What are you doing interrupting our promo?

Speaker 2 (17:03):
Yeah, you wasn't talking about you. You took those clips
totally out of context.

Speaker 12 (17:07):
Oh yeah, well, after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
Let me put this into context. Shut up.

Speaker 5 (18:05):
Check us out on YouTube. Watch us right now. Search
Odd Couple FSR and subscribe. Don't forget Antonio Daniels coming
up bottom of the hour. We'll talk with him, do
some NBA stuff, all right. So eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox, Who's the blame for the mess? In Baltimore?
John Harbaugh. Is it Lamar Jackson or somebody else? Joe

(18:27):
in New York, Pennsylvania. You're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Joe? Merry Christmas?

Speaker 13 (18:31):
How are you Merry Christmas to you?

Speaker 4 (18:34):
Guys, appreciate you.

Speaker 13 (18:37):
I'm an old guy. I was around for Colts and
unfortunately I went to a dry spell. So we got
a team back, and of course became Raven saying I
live about maybe between York and Baltimore, so we're pretty
close to Baltimore. Here's in a nutshell.

Speaker 14 (18:54):
Again.

Speaker 13 (18:55):
I'm not a genius, but you know, when stuff leaks
like this and you see money, I always say, follow
the money. I think he's twenty four percent of the
cap next year, Lamar is, and then he got a
bunch of guys belong. So is it just this whole
game of like, well, we're going to start now to
see what happens. And you know with Lamar that's for

(19:15):
John Harbal.

Speaker 9 (19:16):
I think he's.

Speaker 13 (19:17):
Probably a great guy, but as a coach myself, I
think he's stale.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
Too too long, too long in a place.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Yeah, too long.

Speaker 13 (19:24):
I mean it's not the same NFL. I mean you
look around these these young guys are coming in and
they're like crazy, Nothy, don't all workout. But I think,
like again, you know, I'm stale is.

Speaker 15 (19:35):
The right life.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Stale is the right word. Joe, I appreciate the game.

Speaker 6 (19:38):
Yeah, I mean it's been.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
It's been there for a long time.

Speaker 5 (19:42):
And Martin at some point, thanks Joe, you know, you
got to win again.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
And he has talent.

Speaker 5 (19:47):
And every year people pick the Ravens and every year's disappointment.

Speaker 10 (19:51):
And I would say the difference because there's another tenure two.
Pretend you're coach Mike Tomlin. The difference is Mike Tomlin
in that same has not had an MVP.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
Level quarterback if he won two Super Bowl exactly, that's
the difference. We don't have one of those guys. You
have to win.

Speaker 5 (20:09):
Paul in Boston, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
What's up, Paul. Merry Christmas?

Speaker 6 (20:15):
Yeah, Merry Christmas to you boys too.

Speaker 9 (20:17):
Listen.

Speaker 6 (20:17):
I'm a big Pats fan, season ticket.

Speaker 9 (20:19):
Hold on everything, guys.

Speaker 6 (20:21):
Baltimore's up eleven and uh lamar your number one guys
out of the game.

Speaker 9 (20:27):
You get your number.

Speaker 6 (20:27):
Two guy not running red hot, but running white hot,
running right through and over the New England Patriot Stevens.
I believe the last time I saw him touch the ball,
I mean he went went up the left side, and
I touched him to the end zone. Patriots with tomorrowized
beating a beating squad. At that point, Dank go out
with Steph Diggs. He kept us up mentaling in that game.
But if they just kept handing the ball to the

(20:50):
number two guy, who was the number one guy by
the fact though that coaching one, that game would have.

Speaker 9 (20:54):
Won that game, no question about it. That guy is
a horse. He's in the woman next.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
Yeah, no, no, no doubt. Baul appreciate the track.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
Yes, a great action on ball, Yeah, no doubt. Very good. Uh,
all of a sudden leave my screen went out up.

Speaker 10 (21:13):
All right, well yeah, Brandon and Riverside, you're on the couple.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
Brandon, what you got pal?

Speaker 7 (21:19):
Hey guys, how y'all doing? Man, I'm glad y'all here today.

Speaker 5 (21:22):
Always you know that, Brandon, Merry Christmas, my man, Yeah.

Speaker 9 (21:26):
Man, Christmas.

Speaker 7 (21:27):
So you know, even though I'm a Bears fan and
I know we just got good this year, for the
last five years, always picked the Ravens to win because
you have a quarter that is a once in a
lifetime quarterback.

Speaker 9 (21:41):
You know, I blame hardball.

Speaker 7 (21:44):
Yeah, it just doesn't make sense all the Lamar.

Speaker 9 (21:47):
He doesn't He's never ever been in the.

Speaker 7 (21:51):
You know anything as far as like making trouble or
was in.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Trouble or no.

Speaker 7 (21:56):
No, He's always been a team player guy. So for
that to come out, have to having a bad season.
It is kind of funny and weird. Moich makes me
think that heart like somebody on the harball side of
this trying to light and make sure like Lamar looks
kind of bad. Hey yeah, if I'm Baltimore, because Lamar,
he's only he's turn and thirty.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
They have to make a move.

Speaker 7 (22:18):
They got a mate, some moves right now to capitalize
off that young man, because that's a great football player
right there. That's that's the one in the lifetime quarterback.

Speaker 9 (22:27):
And they need to say take.

Speaker 7 (22:28):
Advantage of it right now, right with you all.

Speaker 9 (22:31):
They need to fire our ball.

Speaker 14 (22:33):
But Mary Christmas to you all man man.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
Yeah, I appreciate it. Hey, real quick, Paul and Astro,
North Carolina. You're in the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Real quick, Paul, how are you, Mary.

Speaker 15 (22:43):
Christmas Hey, double merry Christmas, because this is like that
couple we all know. They're beautiful people, biggest house, great
looking kids, and when they get divorced for all shocked
or like man, they have everything perfect and so when
you talk to them, you find out how flawed they were.
And this should have happened, This should have happened long ago. Listen,
I think they both should go because if it's a
hardball issue and he's he's lost Lamar Jackson, clearly he

(23:06):
would have lost other team members. So the coaches got
to go.

Speaker 14 (23:10):
And even if you get rid of the coach, listen, man,
as a leader of the team, if you're not going
with the coach, you got to stand up. So if
he's doing all these things, he's being the keys of
doing I don't think he can keep him alant, keep
him around and have him a leader for the football team.
It's hard.

Speaker 5 (23:22):
I'm gonna say this is Paul though, and I hear you,
but it's hard to find a quarterback.

Speaker 6 (23:26):
Man.

Speaker 5 (23:26):
There's twenty teams in the NFL who need a quarterback,
and now that's what you have. You just got to
get the right situation. And thanks for the call. We
appreciate it. We'll up against it, you know so, Martin,
I don't think you can just get rid of a
quarterback because everybody needs a quarterback.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
Lamar would be snapped up in two seconds.

Speaker 10 (23:46):
I think the point that Paul was making was, you know,
if your quarterback is a mal content, it may be
nothing that can save the mal content.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
That's not where Lamar Jackson is right.

Speaker 10 (23:56):
When Lamar Jackson is not that even all, every single
word in my press calling can be true.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
Lamar Jackson's don't not a bad guy, not at all.
That that's not the issue.

Speaker 5 (24:06):
I agree with you, and again I pointed out some
of those plays that could have changed a lot of things.
Those are facts. Those are not I'm not trying to
fudge it or say it's not his fault. Drop I
mean drop balls in big situations, fumbles and big Mark
Andrews is one of the best players of Ravens have
ever had.

Speaker 10 (24:24):
And to the point, I mean seriously, to the point
of to go back to what Paul was saying about, basically,
if he's a bad guy, Lamar is always taken the
blame for these things, even when it was like, you know,
there's no way to throw a better ball to Andrews
in the corner of the end zone.

Speaker 5 (24:38):
You throw that boy one hundred times, ninety nine times,
that ball is going to be caught. I just when
I saw it, I couldn't believe it, Like it was
one of those moments. So we're gonna talk with Antonio
Daniels coming up, and then tomorrow Markin we got a
whole sleigh.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
We're gonna talk about the NFL on Christmas.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
I think it's kind of a bummer where the games
are and what probably when it's when they did the schedule,
was gonna be awesome, you know what I mean, like
for where those games fit in.

Speaker 4 (25:08):
But I think we got to swing and miss on that.

Speaker 11 (25:11):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (25:11):
And then of course obviously does a lot of NBA stuff.
So will you be flipping between both? I mean there's
obviously a ton of games on the NBA wise and
three NFL games.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
Yeah, I'll be flipping between both.

Speaker 10 (25:24):
I will likely be paying a lot of attention to that,
uh that Packers that Packers game. Won't think Christmas Night
because you got to make sure, like the NFC all that.
But it is Clayton Tune, so that's gonna be fun.

Speaker 5 (25:37):
Well, a Packer. I mean, the Packers just got to win.
I mean, it's just uh like right, I mean.

Speaker 10 (25:44):
I mean, but if they don't, but if they have
to win, but they're also going to be starting, at
best a backup quarterback, right Lake Willis look pretty.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
Good to me, would you know? I think he's fine.

Speaker 5 (25:55):
No, I'm just saying now he looked pretty good to
me in that game against the pairs. All right, now,
let's welcome in our Antonio Daniels. You know that NBA champ,
Sirius XM, NBA Radio, Pelicans TV analysts, and of course
Fox Sports Radio NBA analysts. Antonio, say hi to Martin
Wis's Merry Christmas you and the family, and we always

(26:17):
appreciate your knowledge.

Speaker 9 (26:18):
How are you, Mark, Mary Christmas? Rob my boy, Mery Christmas,
my brother.

Speaker 5 (26:23):
No, no doubt. Yes, it was great seeing you recently
in Brooklyn. And I'm gonna get to New Orleans as well,
uh pretty soon. And thank god guys started winning some
games down there too, because it was pretty ugly for
a minute there, but a lot of stuff to talk
about NBA wise, and all of a sudden, you know,

(26:46):
we looked at OKAC.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
They weren't losing any game, not a losing, you know.

Speaker 5 (26:50):
And now we're seeing the San Antonio Spurs are not
that there's only three losses separate them, but it didn't
feel like that two weeks ago. Tell me about the
spur of the Spur in Wemby and and and everything.

Speaker 9 (27:02):
Well, I mean, the thing is, obviously they're they're going
to uh, the way they're constructed, they are constructed to
contend in the West. But let's not get it twisted.
There's a drastic difference between beating Oklahoma City in December
than beating them four times in April, and may.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
No doubt that's what's separate. That's the thing about the NBA.
And I say it all the time. Yes, game is
the hard part, right, Yeah, I'm.

Speaker 9 (27:31):
In San Antonio. San Antonio is home for me. So
you wouldn't believe how many messages I got uh when
they beat in the Cup and they beat Oklahoma City
again last night, and like, I get it that San
Antonio is a really, really good basketball team. I will
take nothing from them, nothing with from them whatsoever. But

(27:51):
beating Oklahoma City four times in the second week of
April on it's a lot more difficult than defeating them
in San Antonio in December and then the neutral site
in December. Drastic difference. But I'm not gonna take anything
right from Wimby. Wimby gives them something special, just like

(28:13):
Nicola Jokic gives them something special. And there are two
teams in the Western Conference that I think have a
chance to really continue with Oklahoma City. It is Timber
and it is San Antonio because of Victor women down
and because of Nicola Jokics.

Speaker 4 (28:27):
Hold on, you said something about Wemby.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
Everyone knows twim.

Speaker 9 (28:35):
I'm sorry, everyone knows.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
That's my hit song about Wenby. We all know it's
about Wemby.

Speaker 4 (28:43):
That's it. I just had to be all right.

Speaker 10 (28:45):
Now, let's bring some respectabilities back to the situation because.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
Rob talked about it.

Speaker 9 (28:49):
Thank you for thank you for getting the train back
on the truck.

Speaker 10 (28:52):
All right here, but I'm here for you, ed Todeo
because it's Christmas Eve. But we try to get some
work done, all right. The Thunder and the Spurs. Rob
talked about them, but in between mean them. If you
did the standings just of all twenty eight and all
thirty NBA teams, you'll see the Detroit Pistons right between
them at twenty four wins and six losses. Tell me
why out of the Eastern Conference it shouldn't be them.

Speaker 9 (29:15):
I don't think there is a reason why it shouldn't
be this. For me, it's a two team, right.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
So they're gonna go from They're gonna go from not
winning a playoffs series in ten years or twelve years
to go into the NBA Finals with Pistons.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
No, no, but no, no, I'm asking you.

Speaker 10 (29:31):
I asked them why they shouldn't Why should they not
be looking like they're a team that should be like
inside the building feel good about themselves.

Speaker 4 (29:39):
I'm not.

Speaker 5 (29:39):
I just want to make sure you talk about feeling
good or going to the championship?

Speaker 4 (29:43):
Is that what you're talking about?

Speaker 9 (29:45):
The thing when we look at the Eastern Conference? Obviously
the Eastern Conference is down this year because of injury.
If I'm a Detroit Pistons fan, or if I'm in
the organization or even a player, why would I think
this is a New York Knicks team that you took.
It took a man. We all know that call and
how that could have easy with the wrong way was

(30:05):
with a force of Game seven who else in the
Eastern Conference right now, realistically speaking, and obviously we're not
talking about Mark Madness beating the team once. We're talking
about beating them four out of seven times. Who in
the Eastern Conference would you say right now, outside of
the New York Knicks can beat the Detroit Pistons four
out of seven times?

Speaker 4 (30:25):
Uh, Cleveland, I'm not talking about the way.

Speaker 5 (30:29):
I'm not talking about I'm not Wait a minute, I
don't want to be a prisoner of the moment that
they're just not playing well right now. That will be okay, okay,
I'm saying right now, but I've seen this team with
the coach that they have, and I've seen them perform,
and there are they where they were I expected them
to be. No, do I expect them to get better,

(30:50):
Antonio as the season goes on.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
I do. And here's the problem I have with the.

Speaker 5 (30:54):
Pistons, even the thirteen game winning streak, just go look
at the schedule.

Speaker 9 (30:59):
And who they see. I hate that art why I
literally I literally hate that argument because you can say,
like we expect when the team goes on a ten
game winning streak that all ten games are supposed to
think get teams that are. No, here's the thing, Rob.
In the eighty two game season, all you can do
is play who's on the schedule. That's all you can do.

(31:22):
The Detroit Princess can't say, well, look, if we ran
thirteen games in a row, they have to be a
gift respected teams that are continued for it to mean something. No,
it does it? Why haven't other teams done it?

Speaker 2 (31:33):
No?

Speaker 5 (31:33):
What I'm just saying, I mean, there were so many
cupcakes in that schedule.

Speaker 4 (31:37):
I how to too just watch? I mean, I get
to that point.

Speaker 9 (31:40):
The hardest things, you know, one of the hardest things
to do in this league, Rob, beat the teams are
supposed to beat.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
That is one of the most.

Speaker 9 (31:48):
Difficult things to do in this league. It's easy to
get up for the Steph Curries and the Lebron James
Is and the Kevin Durant and those guys, the Anthony Edwards.
Those are the easy games to get up for.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
I'm just gonna ask you.

Speaker 9 (32:01):
Do you expect them?

Speaker 5 (32:01):
You expect them to be in the Eastern Conference Finals?
Is what I'm asking you.

Speaker 13 (32:05):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
No, what I'm saying, No, I'm asking you. I'm asking
you for what you see it.

Speaker 9 (32:10):
Wasn't surprising me if they were not one bit. Okay,
now it one surprised me one bit. At the Destroit Pittons, I'm.

Speaker 5 (32:16):
The siting here today in Christmas Eve and say they
will not nt be in the Eastern Conference finals.

Speaker 9 (32:23):
And that's okay too though, Robs like I understand that
side too. Now when you look at the Eastern Conference
and look where Milwaukee is, Look who's Boston lost. Look
what happened in Indiana or Teresa Halliburton and them talking
about moving Ben Mathers. So you start going through and
look at some of the teams in the Etern Conference,
it becomes a process of eliminations. Once you start to

(32:45):
eliminate teams, the teams that have the chemistry, the teams
that have the coasing, and the team that have the physicality,
or the New York Knicks and the Detroit Pittons. And
you can call the Cleveland Cavaliers a prisoner of the moment, Rob,
but when you're talking about thirty games in that is
no longer a prisoner of the movie.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Almost halfway through the year.

Speaker 5 (33:04):
Yeah, but the regular season doesn't count in the NBA,
and we know that you just brought it up.

Speaker 4 (33:10):
It's about it's about four out of seven.

Speaker 5 (33:12):
It's not about winning meaningless games through a long.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
Stretch of a season.

Speaker 5 (33:16):
And I'm not I'm not knocking them for winning it,
but I'm not gonna crown a team that hasn't won
a playoff series. And you talk about, oh, yeah, could
have forced the game seven. They didn't win one game
at home during that playoff That that was.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
The issue I had.

Speaker 9 (33:29):
What else do we have to go?

Speaker 5 (33:31):
No, I'm just saying it just it just feels really premature,
and I if I'm wrong, I'll say I'm wrong. But
I don't see that that'll see that leap in one season.
One last thing, though, I got to ask you, uh,
you've been how many years did you play in the NBA?

Speaker 4 (33:46):
Fourteen or more? Thirteen thirteen?

Speaker 5 (33:49):
The Josh Hart Jalen Brunson thumb. I've never seen guys play.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
Around in the locker room. What what was that? Come?
Come on?

Speaker 9 (34:01):
That's that's two dudes that have been together forever, but.

Speaker 5 (34:06):
Really on that stage with cameras and everybody.

Speaker 9 (34:09):
Looking, that's that's that's like you see that they have
a different friendship. And I mean that in a good way, right,
Like these dudes have been their chemistry. There's a reason
why everyone picks the New York Knicks to come out
of the Eastern Conference, and one of the reasons is
because of their chemistry.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
You know, but have you ever seen that?

Speaker 5 (34:29):
I mean, like seriously, I never I've been I've been
covering the NBA for for forty years.

Speaker 9 (34:36):
No. But also, I mean I also don't pay it
any mind. I don't think it's it's enough of a
subject to actually give wife and talk about, not with
everything else that's going on in the league.

Speaker 5 (34:45):
Well, the only problem is he was interviewed by MSG
at did you see that clip?

Speaker 10 (34:50):
I didn't see any of this, Okay, so I just
googled it. You didn't see it?

Speaker 4 (34:53):
Oh my god.

Speaker 16 (34:54):
So I was not at the Timberwolves, but I was
gonna say seriously, Uh, he was interviewed by MSG Antonio
and asked something and he said he had pick a
player or somebody said Josh Hart.

Speaker 5 (35:05):
I know he hasn't been a great friend lately, but
Josh Hart, and the reporter said, okay, thumbs up to that.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
That's what he said. I mean, like, like it's still
out There's all I'm saying that one last thing, and
you're doing your part to keep it up. That that's
all right. One last thing. We got one minute anybody
I wanted to ask you.

Speaker 10 (35:22):
We talked about Cleveland being a team with bona fides
and not playing well at the moment. Minnesota has way
more bona fides than Cleveland does in terms of getting
to the Western Conference finals and Anthony Edwards his tenure.
They're sitting right now like sixth in the West. Where
do you expect them to kind of go as the
season progresses.

Speaker 9 (35:40):
You know, there are a few teams It w wasn't okay,
we're talking about things that wouldn't surprise us. It wouldn't
surprise me one bit if before February Minnesota acquired a
point guard.

Speaker 4 (35:52):
Yeah, there are.

Speaker 9 (35:53):
Some teams in the Western Conference that are missing your
point guard and that will be the difference in their postseasons.
Two right off the jump or Houston in Minnesota, those
are the two. Because there's a lot to ask Anthony
Edwards to initiate the offense and also finish the offense.
It's a lot to ask Kevin Durant to initiate the

(36:14):
offense and set himself up. Both of those teams are
Western Conference contenders, but they both are in dire need
of an NBA league guard or an NBA point guard.
So it wouldn't surprise me to see Houston go after
a point guard or to see Minnesota go after a
point guard.

Speaker 4 (36:31):
I need a yes or no answer, and then we're
gonna let you go.

Speaker 5 (36:34):
On this Christmas eve, Lebron James should not be on
the All Star team.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
Yes or no?

Speaker 9 (36:44):
Well, I mean that's a tough yes or no, because
if we had to vote today.

Speaker 4 (36:50):
Today, oh today, no, okay, that's it.

Speaker 5 (36:53):
Hey, No, okay, Merry Christmas. That's all I wanted. Merry
Christmas to you and the family. We appreciate you and
we'll talk to you soon. Okay, Antonio, thank you, Yes, sir,
no doubt.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
All right?

Speaker 5 (37:04):

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Let's welcome to Shekel City. The home base for Rob
Parkers Dally dix A.

Speaker 5 (38:47):
All right, all the big games of tomorrow, NBA, NFL.
Really nothing tonight. I'm not doing a college football what's
playing on tonight?

Speaker 4 (38:53):
Got a game tonight?

Speaker 3 (38:55):
Yay?

Speaker 4 (38:55):
Not much? Yeah, not much going on.

Speaker 5 (38:57):
But anyway, last night I did pull out Yes, two
and one last night.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
That takes my record, Alex. You ready.

Speaker 5 (39:06):
To ninety nine, ninety nine and ninety one, ninety nine
and ninety one on the season. So remember, all right,
but tomorrow we got plenty of games.

Speaker 10 (39:17):
I can't believe you don't have a pick on Calvers
Hawaii in college football.

Speaker 5 (39:21):
Wow, I no.

Speaker 4 (39:22):
You could pick that one. I'm gonna let you what's
the spread the Hawaii Bowl? Hawaii by one and a half? Right?

Speaker 10 (39:29):
I mean, anytime cal goes to Hawaii on the road,
you gotta take the Golden Bears, right right, I get
out of the store.

Speaker 5 (39:36):
So tomorrow we'll see plenty of games. Tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
We might talk about some of those a little bit later.
On NBA.

Speaker 5 (39:45):
You got the Calves at the Knicks, you got the
Spurs at the thunder Mavericks at the Warriors, and the
Rockets at the Lakers. My god, and then the Timberwolves
at Denver, so you got a full slate tomorrow, and
then of course the NFL as well, any game in
the NFL you're looking at tomorrow like intent.

Speaker 4 (40:06):
No, okay, okay.

Speaker 5 (40:08):
We'll talk about that Ken Okay, all right, our number
two of the odd couple, and we're looking for all
the haters, the Caleb Williams.

Speaker 4 (40:15):
Hay it is. We want you to call in stick
and stay America.
