Speaker 2 (02:11):
They were going crazy. We were in New Orleans.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
They were it was passionate, and I thought, you know, hey,
we are in the studio right now, maybe to slow down,
and they were with it.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Taking shots at everybody, but definitely all right. So so
Michaeh Parsons. We know he's a talented player. That's not
even a debate, right, No, he ain't Lawrene Tailor though.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Can we get off of that.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
There's like a handful of people in life we should
never say. Al team still look like you know, pre
but cheeks out Mike Tyson, you still like?
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Man, I don't want to smoke them.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
You know how before that booty that big it was.
I mean, I ain't been walking around judging. Man was saying,
I didn't know it was that big. It's just well,
did you want to see it again? I'm okay, I'm
men in black Dade. I had the laser in my eye.
I don't want to ever remember that again. But my
point is I'm trying to see I'm trying to see
the Robert Kraft video. That's what I want to see.
I'd watched that with you do want to see that?
(03:07):
And Rob the Unfortunately it's with you too. Yeah, it's
just me and Steve what old people doing stuff?
Speaker 2 (03:13):
This is just the next iteration that you say it.
Why not what you mean? Why not? Don't nobody want
to see that? There's nothing.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Well, rob G can't wait? All right, rob G, I
am the Oracle. And in my left hand I have
the video. In my right hand, I have all the
ozimpic you would ever need. Look at you, I'm.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
Thinking, because how'd you get the bootleg of the Robert
Kraft later right?
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Right?
Speaker 1 (03:40):
The one that I got for swapping out cheesecake? Right,
the one that's on VHS.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Still it's not like really a little quigly lines, but
you can still see it. My whole point simply was
though that uh Lt still looked like he would lay
somebody out.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
What's crazy is?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
I told you I covered Lt in New York and
I only played a long time ago, but I was
Howard the Giants that year they went to the super
Bowl in New York. I was a young reporter and
it's just funny to see him. I didn't, I didn't
get it just to him.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
I mean, listen, we know the life he was leading.
He got, he got some bad.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Yeah, it got a little wild for him. So he
looked good and he looked, you know, healthy. Obviously I
don't know what he's doing, but he looked healthy.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
It was good to see, no doubt, all right, uh so,
so Michael Parsons, you know, the Cowboys. Apparently Rob g
come in with the news of the day because right
there's a report in the Athletic correct.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
So there was a.
Speaker 5 (04:29):
Report of the NFL network over the weekend where they
were talking about, you know, Michael Parsons the next guy
to get paid. Everyone knows that, We've talked about it
for two years now. So the NFL network said, yes,
their plan is still to make him the highest paid
defensive player in NFL history, but there are quote internal
discussions to be had about his future with the team,
(04:51):
which for codeword means either we're gonna make him the
highest paid defender ever or we're gonna trade him for
a king's ransom and we got to decide which we're
gonna do at some point next few weeks. So that
obviously set off some firestorm. CD Lamp started to comment
on it, and it was a big thing up until the
Super Bowl took place. So last night, MICHAEH. Parsons is
(05:12):
doing a live version of his podcast.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
It just has to do a podcast which is.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
Now now Arizona Max.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
So you know, he stepped up and yeah, well he
also said that wasn't a part of that stop uhkwon.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Barkley and he was on that. He was on that
done we got some more. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:32):
So last night his guest was Derrick Henry. Dereck Henry.
Of course that a phenomenal year.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Joy didn't talk about that though about his game plan
for the Super Bowl.
Speaker 6 (05:40):
Now, I didn't watch the whole podcast, but I.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Never missed his I never missed it the podcast I
know you missed.
Speaker 5 (05:47):
So he's talking to Derrick Henry, and one of the crowd,
the audience members, says what everybody's thinking, Hey man, don't
you wish that Derrick Henry had joined you with the Cowboy.
Speaker 6 (06:00):
Here's what Mike got to say about.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Jerry got mind him a block. I couldn't even do it.
I couldn't even call Jerry Jerry got mind him a block.
Are you upset that dead Henry Dan come to Dallas?
I said, Nah, that's not how God worked.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
He was exactly where he was supposed to be, exactly
you're eight nine his career, still going for eighteen hundred yards, playoffs,
He's exactly what you're supposed to be.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
I'm happy that ain't get rop us. It was all
good until that last thing ride.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Well, I'll say this, if I'm the Cowboys, Okay, I've
had enough. This is what he'd rather put his time
and energy. Every time he says something, he's ripping on
the on the organization, ripping on Dak Prescott, like like
enough does he not understand, like like you don't have
to say everything out loud, you know, like you have
(06:48):
to have some diplomacy. You gotta understand who's who's paying
your paycheck. I don't understand guys who think that their
bulletproof and they can just say and do whatever.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
He's so unfiltered that it's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
And if I'm the Cowboys, you could get a kings
ransom for him. You're not winning anything now, I'm sorry.
Will they just hire some guy from the Schottenheimer's kid, right,
Brian Schottenheimer.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
It was like who wants to be a coaching air
who was on nobody's wish list as a head coach
in the NFL because they got him cheap and.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Jerry CONSTRAINO, you can be the big dog. He'll listen
to me, do everything I say.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yea, and Michael will get you some stuff. You don't
have to go. You already paid CD Lamb. You already
paid Dak Prescott. Now you're gonna do it. You're gonna
pay him to like like where does this stop? Like
go re establish yourself? Did defense last year? What they
give up forty or more points in the first four
or five games at home last year not counting the
(07:50):
playoff game they got blown out against the Packers. That
was the previous right, I mean, I'm cool with it.
I would be willing to make a move, get some
top picks for him. He will fetch you a haul.
Here's no doubt in my mind.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
I think Michael Parsons keeps shooting himself in the foot
with this podcast. And the problem is, let's just go
down the line, Rob hey Man, super question.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Top ten quarterbacks. Everybody but Dak doesn't name THATK.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
You're a starting quarterback, the person who's the leader, the
person who has the ball in his hands. Say every
start off with saying, hey, you mean, obviously Dak is
in the top that's my guy, So I'll give you
another tending my guy is in there.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Not done.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
That's like literally you're like obligated to say that just
off being a great teammate.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Then he ruin is he's ruining his own deal. Remember
what he said, I just want to end my career.
I just want to be here.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
I don't even care if I gotta take a haircut
and take less money. Shut up, let me agent, let
me be your eighth. Can I get my Jerry McGuire on, please,
And don't cut into my cha cutting in my ten percent.
Don't cut it when I'm trying to get you don't
think they get ten. But you know what, yeah, I
think it's three at that level. But yeah, let me
do this for you. It's literally why you pay me
so I can do this. So I don't even care
if I get less money. I just want to stop it. Then,
(09:02):
remember they talked about Mike Carthy. He's like, I don't
feel bad for him. I don't feel bad for him.
You know, I feel bad for the players who've been
here all these years. I want to Okay, just but again,
that could have turned around him in your coach again another.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
It was disrespectful.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
A guy who won a super Bowl and to just
act like it was giving his all to you coaching
and all of that. And and the Cowboys had won
twelve games or more three years I mean.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
So it's just and again I you kind of get
his point with some of the things. It's just I
would rather you not. And the worst part about it
is what what Rob just said. Rob Jesus told us, Oh,
he's not a deal with Max now for his podcast.
So what happens is Rob, he's being reinforced. So instead
of getting in trouble, instead of being like, man, let
me learn my lesson, let me grow at me lock in,
(09:43):
it's time to lock back in on football, he's actually
being reinforced and saying, man, I'm doing great work, so
much so that I got a big outlet to throw
me at bag. So why is he gonna listen to Kelvin?
Why is he gonna listen to Rob and stop when
I'm getting more money? So it's again, man, it's just,
it's certain things you just don't have to just because
you can doesn't mean should.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
I'll say this, this ain't for athletes, you know, shut
up and dribble or shut up and play ball or whatever.
But if I was a team owner, I want you
to be committed to me for those four months. I
don't want the distraction. I don't want you talking about
other teams. I don't want you glad handing our opponents
talking about how great I don't remember Draymond during the finals,
(10:27):
wasn't it right? Rob G during the final home like
like you can't stop that, like you're paying him. I'm sorry,
hey Draymond, No, we're not doing this, Hey, Micah, on
your own time, off season, knock yourself out during business hours,
(10:50):
football season, training camp, through the super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
We are not interested in you having a podcast or or.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Talking to other players, or propping up other players, or
talking down to our players, our organization.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
It's just we won't have it. We won't have it.
The reward isn't there.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
And to your point, you can do it seasonally meaning
season one. It starts February in this case, what tenth
meaning you know super Bowl's over?
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Here, we go and you do your thing. You work
on the spectrum. Could you come on here and tell
us how bad spectrum news is?
Speaker 3 (11:22):
No, he asked me your favorite networks. I don't mention
them or diss them, or I don't care about my boss.
You know I already care about the Yeah, you're just
a player.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
What are we doing here?
Speaker 3 (11:33):
And if you're unhappy everything we can work something out
when you move on, no doubt. So I just again,
I think he's a I think he's a good kid,
young man.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
I think he's obviously very talented.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
But at the end of the day, so the day,
it's just not necessary, and I almost feel like I
wish he had. You know, whether it's coach prime or
is somebody's own personal life, his dad or I don't know, uncle,
old college coach, somebody just say, hey, man, you're so good.
Your team is trying to improve and trying to get
to that next level. Just lock in and focus. Because
I'm not saying that he's not working out. I'm not
saying he's not hitting the weights, he's not doing what
(12:05):
he's supposed to do. It's just not necessary because now
again maybe Dak felt some type of way that another
star players team, dang didn't even mention me. Now it's
little and you know you've covered you covered these leagues
since eighty six and eighty seven. Little small things can
get in there and get weird and you know you
ain't mentioned me and little frictions and just it's just
not only was the.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Player Rob g do you remember remember some of it?
Speaker 1 (12:27):
There was a player who pushed back on him about
the podcast what is a Teammates? Yeah, there was a
player who was like he said something about remember because
the defense was so bad, something about oh yeah, yeah,
it was something about and then even in those things
where he's talking about MALIEK. Cooker right, pushback on him
(12:47):
about the about law, about the defense being bad and
him doing podcasts.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Yep, I and I'm not would you be mad?
Speaker 1 (12:53):
I'm not mad at Malie Cooker because he's saying, what
what is this.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
Just it's just not necessary and it's not one of
the just be because you can meaning hey, you have
the right to. We didn't put this in your contract.
You're allowed to do what you want. Doesn't mean you
have to, you know what I mean. That's the biggest
like just just lock in and because it just added
unnecessary little moments. Me as a PR person, me as
a coach, me as a star quarterback, that me as
the owner Jay Jones me, I gotta keep coming. Well,
(13:18):
we heard him say this, what do you what does
he mean by that? Well, I don't really know what
Michael was saying. I don't really listen to pick. I
didn't get a chance to hear. Hey, Mike, I said,
you're not a w What do you say about that?
Speaker 2 (13:26):
I do?
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Michael said, your defense right now is struggling. You should
just well right now. I don't want to have to
do that all the time. All right, things have gone
from bad to words in Dallas. We'll tell you about that.
Coming up next. It is The Odd Couple on a funk. No,
I'm on a trash talking Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
I'll get it right. I got a headache because I'm
gonna let it slide.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
Bro.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
This week, we're working through it. We're all a little angry.
And when you say we're angry, were angry at it.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
That's a good word. I yelled at somebody. Somebody says
something me that hey, what sucking? What?
Speaker 7 (13:56):
Well?
Speaker 2 (13:56):
I'm just trying to tell you, man that you know
your car doors opening.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
What you need to do?
Speaker 2 (13:59):
You need to stick and stay.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
They can eat unless you had a bread stick of Wow,
shut up? What is that a little it's really good,
little schmidz Okay.
Speaker 8 (14:10):

bikes should be and everybody wants to rule the world.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
What a maze. That's just still one of the classics
right there. All right.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
So now, Rob, we're starting to get more and more
coming out of Dallas, more drama, more issues, Fans getting
kicked out of games because they're saying, you know, they
need to sell the team. They're yelling at Nico Harrison,
and it has just been utter chaos ever since they
made this deal with Luca and the Lakers. So one
(15:23):
of the things I find interesting about this Rob is
how the governor of the Mavericks and they like to
call him owners, but the.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Governor, he's helloguvnor, Hello guvnor.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
He's been coming out making it a point to bash
Luca lately as opposed to moving on. The trade's done,
Let's celebrate Ad, Let's celebrate Christy, Max Christie. He keeps
going out of his way to explain and make it
make sense to people when it still won't make sense.
And he's talking about how Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson
and Larry Bird and Kobe the greats, they all maintained
(15:56):
the level of professions and they stayed in shape. And
he is just finding a way to keep talking about
Luca and if Luke of your ex, why you.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Keep going back to them? Move on?
Speaker 3 (16:07):
If lucas you know, you guys moved on your pastage
side about AD you got these people, move on? They
keep talking about them, and to me, the way they're
handling the fans now kicking them out of games because
fans are gonna express themselves. They're upset. They literally lost
a generational talent. That guy even thought they'd have for
ten more years.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
At least, right And as to me, as long as
they're not profaned, you know you people and stuff like that,
well they're not doing that stuff. And the only thing
is as a as an ownership, you could say you
can't bring in signs inside if you're blocking other people's views.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
No, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
It is these things are by the letter of the law.
For sure, you can say you can't do this, But
I just think I just haven't liked the way they've
handled it post the trade.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
To me, I agree, there's no reason to keep revisiting that.
You had the press conference. You told them we're moving on.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
We're about a D. We got a D.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
We think we have a good enough team to make
a RON And I would just say, let's wait, hey, guys,
hit me back when the NBA playoffs start and tell
me what you think, Like, we think we have a
team that's going down game one.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
But you know what I mean. But that's what I
just said before before trade.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Was you know who's been to me handling it the
right way because they asked him about it. Fans are
saying this. Fans are upset. Fans are you know, they're protesting.
You got thousand people that protested the other day. Kyrie
Irvin had something to say.
Speaker 9 (17:32):
I think it's graduated from just like hate to anger
to the cycle of of emotions, you know, just the hate,
the anger, the grieving and then the passion. You know,
you got to give credit to Dallas fans. They've really
cheered not only for Luca but for the Mavericks for
forty some odd years and this is their community team,
you know. So it's just like I felt the way
(17:54):
when you know, the New Jersey Nets moved to Brooklyn,
and I don't know, I'm not comparing it, but it's
just like I felt away when I was a kid,
you know, even when J Kid was on the Nets
and he got traded. I was mad at J Kid
for a while as a young fan, you know what
I mean. Like, you know, it's just it's just part
of the human nature and his journey in the NBA
business and the NBA lifestyle, and also just the connectivity
engagement we have with the fans.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
Articulated that, well, like that, he gets it. Luca was
their guy. Why wouldn't they be upset?
Speaker 1 (18:21):
But out the blue it wasn't Luca and asked for
a rob clamoring for get me.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Out of here.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
What they look like like star players haven't been traded
and and that's the only thing that And I get it,
this is different. He's young, all the stuff, and they thought,
but some of the greatest players who ever played were
all traded, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (18:40):
No, I get that, but this is odd in that. No,
but I was just saying, signed to it.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Nah, I know, but but Wayne Gretzky was traded, Like seriously,
I know if you were an Edmonton Oiler.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Fan back then.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
And he's the greatest hockey player ever. I don't think
anybody disputes that, right, he's not. There's no dispute about
the great one. The great one, right, like, Dwayne Gretzky
is the greatest hockey player ever. And I'm sure they
were not happy and the small Edmonton when he's going
to the La Kings, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
I really I'm trying to think that's a good one.
Obviously that was that was thirty What was that I
don't remember what, Yeah, but it was it was a
big deal.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
But I'm just thinking, like the Canada still hasn't recovered, right,
I think The thing for me is the out of
the blue of it, like if there's a city, it wasn't.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
He's been having his beef.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
He's been his issue if they trade Joel Embiid right now,
you all, it's just kind of seen it come in.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
It's just been some injuries, things like this. You would
see it.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
This is like wait what like you just woke up
with Luca's gone twenty five, He's one of the finals.
In your mind, We're gonna be even better this year,
Like wait a minute, what?
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Oh no, that adds to it. Yeah, it was out
of note. There was no there was no inkling this something.
There's no he wanted. You couldn't even know.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Yeah, he was shocked that he was getting ready close
on a house and everything. So I just don't like
the way they've been had the Linco post to trade,
but that also to get his money back on the house.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Yeah, yeah, I think you will. That happened to me
in Cincinnati.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
I was ready to close on a condo and uh,
I want up getting the job at the Free Press,
and you know, I was a baseball riding Cincinnati is
gonna be the first black columnist. Sports columnists at the
Free Press. You know, a great top ten newspaper. I'm
not gonna pass that up. Even though I love Cincinnati,
I love covering baseball, I love my new condos buying.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
And they gave me my money back. Yeah, I thought
that was the nicest that is That is nice.
Speaker 8 (20:25):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
They're gonna help me to say not everybody going to
said your deposit you lost it.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Yeah, they's a half on in Detroit. But we got
this exactly all right.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
We got Mark fucking co Medina getting ready to talk.
We can talk some more hoops with him in just
a moment, but right now, it's what's trending with Steve
the Seger.
Speaker 8 (20:39):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Mark Fucking co Medina, Fox Sports Radio, NBA Insider Mark
g Underscore Medina Get at him on X what's up?
Speaker 2 (20:57):
Mark?
Speaker 7 (20:58):
I don't even love the plot. Just soaking into Luca Magic.
I'm sure Rob loved every single minute at all.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Ladies Magic, are you kidding? He was rusty as a gate? Well,
you were there last night.
Speaker 7 (21:11):
You know I wanted her last night. Yes, he didn't
make a lot of his shots, some of his passes
as seamates were ready for. But I think with time
you're going to see the same player. That guy, the
guy the Dallas Mavericks the NBA Finals.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
He's a great player. I don't even think there's any
dispute about that. It's just that, hopefully, if you're the Lakers,
whatever reason that the Mavericks wanted to move on, it
doesn't Weird's ugly head here and there's a lot of
stuff swirling around, which I'm not talking about, but I'm
just saying, you don't give up a guy like that
at twenty five or international star unless there's something there
(21:48):
that you're just not happy with or want to discuss.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
Is that they are to say, I guess.
Speaker 7 (21:54):
I mean, look, the Dallas Mavericks have not made great decisions.
There's a reason why there's so many fan protests and
you know, ejections going on because they're so upset with
what happened here. You know, I think the reality is,
if it was so bad, it would have ended the
same way that Mark Williams trade would have happened, where
the Laker said, you know what, things look so bad?
(22:14):
He can't pass this physical. We'll have to know this trade.
I think what what it comes down to is this, Yes,
Lucas training habits can probably be better, but well, he looks.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Like a thirty five year old man and.
Speaker 7 (22:25):
He's five five first team MBA.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
I get it, but that, but you don't get better
as you get older. Okay, Mark, can.
Speaker 7 (22:33):
We hear about it?
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Can we be honest about that?
Speaker 10 (22:35):
Yes?
Speaker 11 (22:36):
Or no?
Speaker 7 (22:36):
Do you well, Rob, he's twenty five years old. Usually
you learn better training habits as you get older.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Is that right?
Speaker 7 (22:43):
I think he's gonna. I think he's gonna start doing that.
He's also with Lebron James. He'll shoot, He'll teach him
a thing or two.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
Yeah, you're gonna spend a million dollars on his body?
I doubt it.
Speaker 7 (22:54):
He donated five hundred k already to the h to
the LA fire victims, you know, in a serious I
mean I think that he takes these things seriously. What
I'm getting at, though, is a lot of times young stars,
especially in their twenties, they don't take care of their
body because they don't have to. And you know, when
he's at the position when he has to, he will,
And I think that is.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
That's an assumption, that's an assumption. You don't know that
some guys don't always get there. Do you remember a
guy called hot plate Williams. Do you remember that guy?
Speaker 7 (23:26):
I do. I read about him in the history book.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Okay, I'm just saying I just want you to know.
He wasn't a rookie.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
He was playing for a long time, and they called
him hot plate because he couldn't keep his weight off.
I'm just saying I expect him to play great, but
I do I don't think that it's automatic that he's
going to be whipped into shape now that he's playing
with Lebron.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
I don't buy that.
Speaker 7 (23:45):
Well, that is fair that that's going to be a process,
But I think it's a really good starting point that
you have Lucas scoring brilliant, his playmaking, the fact that
I think that he and Lebron are going to coexist
well together. Look, there's going to be a lot of
quot uestions about what are the right roster combinations. Can
the Lakers, you know, find a center after this whole
Williams trade gotten old? You know, they got Alex Yen.
(24:09):
But he's not a he's not a game changer. But
when it comes to how Luca will perform, I don't
think it's a really cause for concern. Same thing with
the Lebron dynamic. They're both two playmaking players, and you know,
Lebron want to defer to D'Angel Russell and uh and
(24:32):
Russell Westbrook because he didn't trust their decision making. I
think Luca has a better track record than that who
plays defense.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
But those two out there, Yeah, that's a fair question.
Speaker 7 (24:41):
They got to get they got to beef up their
front corp. But what I'm saying is it's a really
nice starting point to have, uh, you know, two generational
talents that are really good at scoring and passing, and
also having a generational talent that's twenty five years old,
like his his ceiling is going to continue to get higher.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Mar Is, I guess a couple Robin Kelvin stay there
for a minute for me. What has Austin Reeve's been
on lately?
Speaker 2 (25:05):
Man? What's going on there?
Speaker 3 (25:06):
When he has just been on fire, He's starting to
feel like, you know, like hey, hey, hey, don't just
I know Lucas here and Lebron' said don't sleep when
you boy.
Speaker 7 (25:15):
Look, I'm not going to annoint him All Star status,
so don't worry, Rob. But what I'm getting at here
with Austin is his game has gone to a better
level because D'Angel Russell is on the team. You know,
that's increased his opportunities to get more shots, more touches.
But I think that you've also seen that he understands
that he has to be the third best player on
(25:36):
the team for this to work. It's not going to
be about, Okay, Lebron, another co star and a collection
of role players. Even though Austin is still a role player.
He has to consistently every night be that third best
player on the team, and I think that he'll sustain that. Now, again,
this doesn't mean Lakers are championship favors. The Oklahoma City
(25:57):
Thunder are such a complete team. There's so many questions
on where they can be defensively. But again, from a
chemistry standpoint, an offensive standpoint, the Lakers have been really,
really good.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Has the NBA All Star Game been canceled in San Francisco?
Speaker 2 (26:12):
Are going to go through with it anyway?
Speaker 7 (26:13):
They're going to go through with it anyway. Yeah, it's
a new format.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Did you hear about it, Roun, Yeah, yeah, I got
a headache. I heard about it. I mean, come on, Bark,
what are they doing?
Speaker 1 (26:23):
I mean, really trying to reinvent the wheel, build a
better mouse trap?
Speaker 2 (26:27):
I don't know what. And you versus you? You and you?
Speaker 12 (26:32):
Come on, Rob.
Speaker 7 (26:34):
We were disagreeing on Luca. I'm in one hundred percent
agreement with you on the All Star Game. How about
this for a concept, I don't try hard put on
the show, show why you're an All Star, entertain the fans.
I think ironically, in the short term, you were going
to see it. You're going to see a better effort
and a better show in the All Star Game, partly
(26:54):
because of this format. You know, you have the international
stars against the young Stars, the oj against the rising stars.
But that's a short term fix. You may recall when
they did the whole that Uh initiative in honor of
Kobe Bryant to reach a target score. You saw better competition.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
When they didn't draft better.
Speaker 7 (27:15):
Competition, but it fizzled out. So the reality is, after
this season, can the NBA All Stars sustain itself? And
the only solution is they got to actually care about
the game. And you know in recent history we've seen
that they happen.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
The last time sober scenting bird that didn't work.
Speaker 7 (27:38):
But the bottom line is this, Calvin Robb, I don't
know what's more of a lost cause long term expected
the All Star Game is going to be relevant or
competitive or hoping that Rob Parker actually pays up on
his bed.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
What is up with this? He keeps talking. I don't know.
You want to smoke with you with that?
Speaker 7 (27:56):
I thought it was I thought it was at a
certain establishment across the Okay.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
We will definitely on what was the bet? I don't
remember all.
Speaker 7 (28:04):
The Christmas Day games would be competitive this season?
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Oh yeah they were.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
Now you home, I got you, Mark Man, thank you
so much. We appreciate You'll get you some wings up
out here.
Speaker 2 (28:14):

Speaker 1 (29:21):
You know Scott and Pennsyl Tucky, you're in the odd
couple Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
Who you trash and Scott?
Speaker 11 (29:29):
My gosh, we are trashing the chiefs. My wife's family
lives like fifteen minutes from the Kansas City Stadium. All year,
all I hear is three P, three P, three P.
How about showing up? You lost forty to six. I
believe it was forty to six.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
That was the score.
Speaker 11 (29:47):
They're surprising, they're lucky. It wasn't sixty to six. And
I despised the Eagles. It was rough for me. But Rob, ABC, ABC,
I'm done.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
No doubt, Scott. I know his wife went to He
made sure he was in the closet, he said, And
my wife's people can't believe I said it.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
ABC.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
Anybody but cheese later, Scott, he's seven, that's right, NBCU Later, Scott,
if you were locally, he ain't gonna have no food
when he gets to dinner tonight. Hey, Matt in Los Angeles,
join the odd couple of Fox's ready on who you're trashing?
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Matt, I'm trashing Rob Parker, Oh snaps.
Speaker 13 (30:25):
You have to stop attacking excellence. First, Tom Brady all this,
he's no good. He's no good. Now the best quarterback
in league, Patrick Mahomes, He's no good, he's no good.
And you actually said something nice about Tom Brady. Someday,
you know, a year or two, you're gonna be saying,
Lamar Jackson, what does he want? But the last one
is Luca. You're calling Luca fat. You're in a weak
(30:47):
boss contest. You should be supporting your fellow y preverence.
Thank you, love the show.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Oh Shot, I'm mad. I ain't even mad at no man.
That was a good one. Man, that's a good one.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Good I said, no disrespecting frat brethren.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
That's what I said. Oh my god? Who we got
in California? You're in the odd couple? FOXPRTSU Radio? Who
are you? Trashic kid?
Speaker 14 (31:12):
I'm talking Calvin for not listening to Uncle Rob about
the chief.
Speaker 12 (31:17):
They were fun.
Speaker 7 (31:18):
They should have never.
Speaker 14 (31:19):
Been fifteen and two. If that had been two, they
wouldn't have pitted the damn Ravens against the Bills, and
we wouldn't be talking about the Chiefs. And he was
right about home too, because his numbers weren't there this year.
When Uncle Rob says fraud all year about the Chiefs,
he's right.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
My man, Ken from California, right on trash talking.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
We love hout you, Ken, Thank you for the call.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
What about Shawn Sacramento?
Speaker 2 (31:45):
You're in the odd couple? Fox Morturadio, who.
Speaker 14 (31:50):
Yo, Mont, He's from another father, cousin Calvin and my
sisters behind.
Speaker 15 (31:55):
Um Man this way over this course of this week,
I done give up me doing my best impersonation at
Alice the DJ.
Speaker 13 (32:07):
And what do I got to show for it?
Speaker 7 (32:08):
Man?
Speaker 10 (32:09):
A grumpy ass attitude and a couple of kids and.
Speaker 13 (32:13):
A wife who can't stand me.
Speaker 10 (32:14):
At this point, y'all gonna mess around and.
Speaker 13 (32:16):
Get me divorce.
Speaker 12 (32:17):
But at least I'm not going to bed at nine
pm because I just die of bollicle work.
Speaker 14 (32:23):
I'm transing that dire Rob Parker.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
I wasn't bet at nine so I couldn't think about food.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
Hey Sean, I saw you post that on Twitter man,
that you got your six miles in, so you're doing
your thing.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Listen, we ain't say we're doing six miles, Hey Sean.
How much weight you trying to lose?
Speaker 10 (32:40):
We get we get in the twenty minut I'm about
I'm about the same high end, the same weight as Kelvin,
believe it or not, just slightly lighter brown packaging. But
we're gonna get to We're gonna get to about one
seventy five eighty five. We were just going for around that.
So by the time you come out here on four
twentyth we're gonna be dipping around them streets.
Speaker 14 (33:00):
Lady, I can't say.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
I can't do the one seventy if I my wife
gonna leave me squeeze in.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
Uh, Steven from Spokane, you're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
Who you trash and Stephen.
Speaker 7 (33:13):
Just your take on.
Speaker 12 (33:16):
Just the NBA and keep asking about defense like I'm
wondering where defense in the last like ten years is
coming in NBA championships.
Speaker 9 (33:26):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
When you have two statues out there that means you'll
be able to score buckets no matter what they score.
That's the that's the point. I'm not talking about lockdown.
It's not the Pistons right right. I'm not talking about
that era of the NBA.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
I mean you got to play. You have to play
some defense you have. I mean, well, I think you.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
Know why I get credit to we often forget Otherwise
you wouldn't be going to get a big man because
you felt like you need somebody to protect the RAM.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
But that's what I'm trying about.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
Ks nightmare they are sleep having PTSD by Yokis. I
think the the one thing I'll say is I think
the pressure that Pete Luca and he's back and he's
doing his thing, and obviously Lebron puts on teams. I
think it's where you're kind of like that they also
have to play defense. They also have to stop that.
But one thing the Warriors, I think people forget about
for a team that shot the threes and splash Brothers
(34:14):
this and the other man, that Warrior team was a
great defensive team.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
We just sometimes forget about that.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
You know what, Sean I think was a little lightheaded
from being hungry.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
He sounds a little wolsy way he was. He started off,
he called you his auntie. I know what was that?
Speaker 1 (34:30):
You did declare over the radio you were a woman?
You did declare that. I don't know where we got that.
That's a mistake. Clip that, Alex?
Speaker 2 (34:39):
What was that?
Speaker 4 (34:40):
Alex?
Speaker 2 (34:40):
I don't even remember the.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
Context of the things you said. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
I can't make a sense to the point when you
would say I'm a woman, Like, there's no point where
you would get to that.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Rob G Can I trash somebody real cool?
Speaker 5 (34:53):
I want to trash friend of the show, Patrick Mahomes Senior.
You saw the viral video my guy I was drunk
per the Huge on Bourbon Street trying to fight John Rocker.
Speaker 6 (35:04):
Now I don't like John Rocker.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
Either John rock in the picture picture John yn't like
what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
I got some picture dual battles. Hat.
Speaker 5 (35:11):
You've already been arrested like six times, your brother, your
son's in the Super Bowl, your other kid's been arrested
a few times.
Speaker 6 (35:18):
Maybe lay low for a little bit.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
My guy, did they did they play together? Because one
of those teammate b for something.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Yeah, I wonder about that because you know, his dad
was a major league picture for a while in the
big leagues. But John Rocker, why would they pictures have beef?
I guess I don't know what the videos.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
On John Rocker did have real he was trying to
fight people and even while he was pitching. So yeah,
I need Pop's got to relax a little bit about
three or four.
Speaker 1 (35:42):
Years where he was pretty damn good, you know, as
a closer what not.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
Definitely didn't seem like the most likely guy, that's for sure.
All right, spirited trash talk. We appreciate you all for that. Uh,
it's time for somebody to go away, says Rob. We'll
tell you next. Fox Sports Radio
