Speaker 4 (00:26):
Our number two on a Magic City Monday, Rob Parker,
Calvin Washington. They couple in full effect. Great to be
back from vacation. Don't forget coming up in uh about
twenty eight minutes. Newly Scruggs. You know who's a sports
reporter for NBC Dallas Fort Worth. He's live in North Carolina.

(00:48):
He's actually covering the TCU North Carolina game. So we'll
get some color from down there. Will do that because
all the heavyweight today from North Carolina and Michael Jordan
Taylor lts in the building, and I don't know who
else there is. Lil Wayne there. Yeah, yeah, I'm just saying,

(01:11):
you know, like this is like celebrity.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Yeah, College Mary, You're not.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
It sounds like Betty Davis. I thought that was Betty
Betty Davis. Lil Wayne sound say you didn't you?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yeah, young babey, I was okay. Think I'm back. I'm
back six out of ten.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
That's passing. But but high school grades. But do we
have the Bill Belichick song? Are we ready to go?
Of course we should play this song because this is
his start of his college football Chapel Hill Bill.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
I don't understand. The one thing is I get it? Like,
are you about to say security?

Speaker 4 (01:49):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Why don't you have your clothes looser? Like?

Speaker 4 (01:52):
Why would you wear like everything is so tight where
I have to see all your definition.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
I just said to Ryan that he looks like a
BBO girl. I mean, am I right or wrong? Like
I'm not.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
He's seventy three, I get it, and he's not gonna
be rock have a washboard abs or any of that.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
But the clothes seemed too tight. Well, just gonna say
who's fitting him? He was a okay when he was
with them. When he was with the Patriots, he was
by himself out here living life focused on football. You know,
when you get a lady she likes, why don't you
try these? I just happened to see these. I just
bought these at the mall. You would look good at

(02:34):
these he.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Has on a pair of capris, right, Is that I'm
just saying, shins are out, you know, but I ankles well,
you know I subscribe to ankles come out, but shin's
are out.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
I gotta admit, I want to know you to get
you assume some ankles out there? Right? Yes, there would
be held.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
But I thought when he was walking through campus or whatever,
I was mistaken. I thought he was in a hurry
when he was driving around. I know he's seventy three. No,
that was just a big cattle. Was that just okay?

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Adia? But he was laying down in the back, so
I thought, maybe listen.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
What do people do? They take naps old people. He
was like, I'll be ready for the game. Just give
me a nap, Give you a minute.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
I know that.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
You know what, when I've dated the older women and
after they want to get in the back seat, and
when I'm driving home sometimes I feel like I just
want to drive by the cemetery and drop them off.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
You know what I'm saying, is that what you were
doing on the Golden Girls cruise?

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Is that what you were doing on the Golden Girl
c You feel like I'm driving a hursh like she's
in the back seat. I'm like, what's going on here?
Not you resurrecting to dad for a night.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
I'm just saying, you know, you're driving on the iry,
Like should I just take turn off here?

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Like? Yeah? Which headstone? Was it a game? I was
the third one from the left.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
I don't want to say my last girlfriend was old,
but her office was in the cemetery.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
That's how old she is. Yeah, just dropped me off
right there.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Yes, but Bill Belichick does not have an old girl
for me as a young one. I'm just gonna say this,
And I think Bill Belichick made a grave error in
his career. He was within striking distance to be in
the all time winning his coach in the NFL, beating
Don Shula, and he bailed out to go to North Carolina.

(04:23):
I don't know, to set up his son for the
future whatever it is. At seventy three. I just thought
he should have waited the one year, gotten a job
and could have won enough games, you know, in two
years to get the record if he's still going to
be a coach to go to college and have to
recruit and do all that stuff. North Carolina's not a

(04:43):
football powerhouse and they just had an old coach. I mean,
I'm talking about going out on a hears Mac Brown.
Wasn't he just a coach at North Carolina? They ran
him out a town on a walker.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
I mean a rail. I mean, hey, you might be right,
but you.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Get my point, Like, what what is this? It's North Carolina,
You're not Lawrence Taylor's not playing for you. You're not winning
anything there?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
What is this? So what are you winning? Calvin?

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Isn't he about winning? He won six Super Bowls? Now
he's just here to coach the young kids. Is that
really what he's doing.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
I look at it like this, this is out of spite.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
To me, this is out of uh all the things
I've done for you NFL, all the things I've done
for you, specifically the Patriots and all these other teams.
And I've been, you know, the king of the Hill
for so long an NFL.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
You don't want me.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Nobody wants your boy. And I think he was like,
I'm gonna show y'all, I'm ana go somewhere a thrive.
But he didn't go to a powerhouse in college football.
I would get that, like you're the all time, You're like.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
One of the all time greatgos Alabama. He replaced his niggas.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Yes, and I get that, but I think for him,
he wants to on paper, I'm gonna go.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Down here and i'm gonna show you.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
I'm gonna take this team that isn't a powerhouse and
I'm gonna make I'm good and I'm gonna show you
what it is. The only the issue is it takes
time to build programs not in a major college football.
He's not coming to Georgia where Okay, this thing is
an auto pilot, Clemson, Ohio State, you know, uh take
over Ohio State.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Yeah, these things you're gonna have to build up and
it might.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
You're not gonna win the national championship out of North Carolina.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
I'm sorry. And so this is gonna be an epic fail. Kelvin.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
I completely believe that this is gonna be a fail,
and he's just gonna leave it all, like leave the mess.
And the only reason why t took this again, I
think it's for two factors. One out of Spike or
two was for the set up for a son of
one of his mente. He's like, this is you know,
I'm gonna do this for a year or two and
then bam handed off to you.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
You here despite part that I don't understand. We talk
about all the time. You know, many great quarterbacks who
won championships with people finished their careers elsewhere. They didn't stay.
Joe Montana won four, it was four to no. Did
he finish his career with the forty nine?

Speaker 2 (06:59):
Is no?

Speaker 4 (06:59):
They wanne? Tom Brady won six? Okay, thank you bow out? Okay,
what far? Aaron Rodgers won a Super Bowl. We could
go on and on and on. There's so many great
Johnny United didn't finish his career. I just this is
just the nature of the sport and for him to

(07:20):
be involved in this just and all the nonsense that
went on. I mean, if you asked me, I hope
they get drilled. I hope it's absolutely awful because this
is a mistake.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Why would you do this in your career.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
When you're that close, If you were way out of
it and there were no jobs for you, sit out
one year, get the stink off of you from the Patriots,
and then there would have been somebody who would have
given you a chance if you still were healthy. And
you know what I mean, even at his age, he's
the oldest college football coach at seventy three years old.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
There's a reason.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
I mean, what it takes to do college college is
a completely different beast in the NFL. Right, you gotta
be on the road, you gotta be recruiting, you gotta
do all the nil stuff, you gotta go meet parents.
It's a whole different bag. Do you have that energy
to do that? You can't just sit and watch film.
You can't just sit and be locked into the you know,
to the room and figure out a game plan. Right,
this isn't the NFL where you're able to do that.

(08:12):
And again I'm looking when I go back to the Spike.
The reason why I say this is I think he
had with there are's some you know, some flirting with
the Atlanta Falcons that that could have happened there. But
I think he was offended that multiple teams were knocking
down my door. Right, it should have been seven eight
teams that were like we want you, Bill, And I
think he's slightly offended that that didn't happen, that there

(08:33):
wasn't this multitude of teams that were like, Bill, we
have a vacancy and we need you. And so therefore
he took his ball and I'm gonna go play elsewhere.
And now he's down here, And you know, I don't
know if TCU win or lose. I don't think there's
gonna be a blowout, Like I don't think tc is
gonna blow him out even if they win. But as
a home for it, I don't think TCU has a
talent to just blow them out like that. But I

(08:56):
think throughout the season, you win six seven, get like,
what are we doing?

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Bill?

Speaker 1 (09:02):
You're not the coach for that because I don't buy
you as a guy who just wants to build up
a program.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
And I love the kids and I love to teach.
I don't.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
You don't strike me as that guy like part of
the deon Sanders. I know he loves to teach and
grow young men. That's been his brand for for years.
So even if Colorado never wins a national championship, I
know he will be very satisfied teaching and growing young men,
Bill don't.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
I don't know that to be Bill's case like that,
So I.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Don't know the what he's getting out of this other
than he's, uh, what's he doing?

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Trademarking a gold digger and other stuff? Too. I'm with you.
I just don't.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
I don't get it and the whole everything around it,
and the girlfriend and all all the it's just.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Very very weird. What are we doing here? This is
Bill Belichick? Why we knew his one way for years?
His friend's gotta be like, who is this?

Speaker 1 (09:57):
We all have had that friend, everybody Ryn, you two,
Mary's been one of your homegirls and it could have
been hurt.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
No, don't act like that.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
We all have had that friend who found some love
and uh changed up a bit, you know, and then
then start acting, oh, I can't come here, can't do dinner.
Nah man, y'all go ahead. I'm just doing this and
start dressing different. You're like what and I think you know?
That's all I'm saying. But they did score score pretty fast.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Nice good.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
They got everybody there. I mean they got people excited.
Randy Moss and uh who else? Did I see? Jordan
and uh, Lawrence Taylor and a couple of other people
I just saw to you, Oh did they go through?
That's somehow that went in.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
It didn't look like it loves you gonna hit the
referee in the head, yeah, uh yeah, seven nothing. North
Carolina gonna win the national championship. Now they got Bill.
But you look it's set up. You win, you lose
three or four, you can still get the Colas Football Playoff.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
You never know. Everybody can get in absolutely all right.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine six.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
Sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
Where are you on this, Bill Belichick in North Carolina
epic failed by Bill? Or you think that there's something
he could salvage out of it, his image that he
went to college, that he could turn North Carolina around,
which will prove what a great coach he is. Or
is this a disaster to me? This is a hand
grenade that he picked up on his own. It just
doesn't make any said. I just don't get the nepotism.

(11:25):
Is that is that strong to the sun?

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Yeah? Is that seriously?

Speaker 4 (11:29):
Because you you have a legacy that you had set
up there for you.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Why would you do this? Let his son? Let your
son get his own gig.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
How about to be the biggest star one of them
in college football? If Dion was a massive star and
still is in there, let me go down there be
one on one and screw the NFL, and I'm gonna
show y'all.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
I was a big dog and look how popular I am.
That's that's just what I say. And if it all
blows up in his face, that's gonna screw the NFL.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
And then let me tell you what one thing in
America that's gonna go on no matter what the NFL.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox is
a Magic City Monday, Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington. Want to
hear from you where you Bill Belichick's team is rolling
seven and nothing over TCU.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
No doubt, and we're gonna get to North Carolina. Newly
Scruggs is covering the game. Uh huh TCU trailing seven
nothing to North Carolina championship game with all the people
there unknowing, all, yeah, they'll go away, just like Williams.
Just like when Dion first got to Colorado and they
were having the rap concerts and all these people were
showing up. Then they started losing. I ain't see nobody

(14:10):
taking no private brother and all that. Nobody was there, Shannon,
They all done that, and you know what I mean,
And I get it the newness of it, and you
want to go out there, and it's North Carolina if
you're Michael Jordan and and you went to the school.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
I made it, of course.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
But I'm sure he's had some some type of relationship
with him. And not to mention they all wear the
Jordan brand, you know, Oh yeah, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
Ryan, Uh, where are you just from the standpoint of
the Bill Belichick and the idea of this is how
he wants to go out. What do you make of this?
Do you have a take on? Is this about his son?
Because this can't be.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
About Bill Belichick as a coach.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
You know, you won six Super Bowls, there's nothing else
to do.

Speaker 6 (14:57):
To me, Yeah, I just didn't see the point of it.
I've never seen the point of him coaching in college.
I think he could have easily just rode off into
the sunset. He was doing some media stuff. He could
have continued to do media stuff. Why not just do that.
It must be because he's feeling that it's still somehow,
but I just don't see the point.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
It just it just seems weird. And that's why I
think it's, Uh, it's nepotism.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Chris.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
Where are you on this USC Chris? I just I
find this to be the weirdest job change to me.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
But I don't get why you do on a one seconds.
Let me just respond to that real quick, because I
just think pride. I think he's like, I'm gonna go
show you, you know how many There's not a lot
of guys who've won a national championship and who have won.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
And I'm not saying he's gonna do it. I don't
think he is. That's what I'm just saying. I think
he I think he put his pride bag.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
I think he wants to show him and maybe don't
win a national championship I'm gonna turn a program around.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
How about college? Okay, let me give you the other side.
I hear you, Yeah, how about his awful?

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Things are bad? You know what I mean? And you
look like a seventy five year old guy coaching. You're
the oldest coach in college football. Yeah, and it looks
like the players didn't respond to you. You were said
in your way? Do you know what I mean? Then
that's your view Bill, Bill went to college and failed? Well,
because it's always out.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
But I'm naming to me, I think the motive like,
I think that's so you're right, that absolutely more than
probably likely to happen.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
But because you're in North Carolina, is what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Like, if you would have told me Carolina, alum, right now, listen,
you got one more job to take it out.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
But if you if you went Chris, if this was Alabama,
some real plumb job, were you gonna get the best
of the best? And now all I gotta do is
just add my magic dust to it, then I get it.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (16:43):
I look, I don't think someone if Bill Stature even
thinks about the possibility that he might fail, because it's
it's rare for these kind of guys. I've kind of
been fifty to fifty between, Like the response he got
from the NFL circles, how few job interviews he got,
kind of like put something back in him, because as
you said, it did look like he was comfortable doing

(17:04):
a lot of television. It looked like that was going
to be the future for it. But I want to
say this, I think, yeah, something about these guys. They
can never hang it up. They can never understand when
it's time to go, and they just want to show
they got one more in me.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
But I want to.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
Say this, And I talked to people in the NFL, Okay,
my cw pfs close one personal front. They told me
that he was offered the Falcons job. Okay, and he
took forever and then he started with like, well I
want to have all the front office power. But but

(17:38):
he was offered the Falcon's job. You remember they hired
I can't remember last minute, you know, Morris, right last minute,
like out of nowhere we wind up getting the job
or whatever. But I was I was told that he
was offered that job. But I'm saying, yeah, but he
could have it if he really wanted to, he could

(18:00):
have gone in and taken that job and still stay
in the NFL. Try to win your fifteen games whatever
you still need to win and make that happen.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
And I think ultimate power.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Yeah, but what you still can't recruit the players you
need to really win to What is to do mean?

Speaker 2 (18:16):
I can't recruit him?

Speaker 1 (18:17):
I got checks, I can pay these kids. What you
mean I got Jordan money Son?

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Yeah, okay, you giving out hoodies? Hey, I need a
couple of extra bucks.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
MJ come through jump through like the jump Man logo
with some checks in his hand instead of the ball.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
I think it's crazy.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
It is crazy, But I'm telling you, pride to make
you do a lot of things. Rod Parker feeling like
you got short change or like like Deonce rot Roy
Jones Junior old song, y'all must have forgot. He's trying
to tell people, y'all must have forgot. And this is
what I did in real quick last week. I don't think.
Let me say this to the camera, Elijah put the
camera on me. He's not winning a national championship, but

(18:56):
I think it's in the back of his brain. You
never know, and he wants to be like a Jimmy
Johnson who's guys who've won in college and won in
the pros Barry Switzer College Pros and Pete Carroll. And
I think he's looking at them like maybe, just maybe
if I put two three years and you never know,
and I think he wants to prove. Look how I
turn this program back around. It's your boy, I did this?

Speaker 2 (19:19):
Who me? And I think he wants to show or
then she probably would be like we but it's okay.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
And if they if they stick up the joint over
those years and they're like okay, Bill.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
That's when you default too. I got six super Bowl rings. Okay,
he already got that in his pack pack prockeate Robs.
So the minute we go, people remember ring.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
People remember how you finished. Though it ain't going away.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
It's like arguing with Chuck and Shack. Chuck might light
him up with a good point. I'll go for rings
you and got done. You know it's back pocket. They
can always pull it out, all right.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
Rob and Kelvin on a Magic City Monday.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
And we're joined now by newly Scrutgs sports reporter for
NBC Dollas for Forward live from TCU at North Carolina
and uh now you filling chapel Hill, Bill Era, what's up.

Speaker 8 (20:11):
New we How are we doing?

Speaker 4 (20:13):
Guys?

Speaker 8 (20:13):
How are we doing?

Speaker 6 (20:15):
It?

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Is?

Speaker 4 (20:15):
Uh?

Speaker 8 (20:15):
I'm in the press box right now, and so far
for Carolina, they came out there, rein it right down TCU.
So hope they drive, but uh second drive here go
a little moll minim. So we'll see. We'll see the
spot quarter game, yes, sports quarter game.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Oh yeah, there you go.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Uh just the mood on campus and I know all
the uh big alumni are there. And Michael Jordan we
saw on television and uh welt Roy Williams, he had
the whole gang is here.

Speaker 8 (20:43):
Yeah, yeah, I missed a similar to when Colorado says
TCU two years ago with Deane opened up there you
bring out all the stars. People are excited about it.
And Mia Ham is here. I believe Tom Brady's also
in this suite hanging out here. It's been a whole
bunch of buzz. I was out earlier on Franklin Street.
Restaurants are full. Actually saw LT at lunch and a
lot of people out here they're teaching. You bought a

(21:05):
bunch of folks, so a bunch of my frat brothers
out there from making sci fi. They came out hanging
out to Everybody was excited about this and the crowd
was hiked up. So we'll see if the game lies
up to it. So far, it's seven nothing and bill bill?

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Now is it true that they have the bill?

Speaker 4 (21:18):
What is the chapel bill special at the restaurants which
is sodium free bacon, DCAF coffee and the chest X ray?

Speaker 2 (21:26):
Is that true?

Speaker 4 (21:27):
Uh?

Speaker 9 (21:28):
Not?

Speaker 8 (21:28):
Where I was at. I was of this place called
Top of the Hill, pretty nice, flanky place. But I
didn't see that.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
You went to the wrong one. You're supposed to go
to over the hill.

Speaker 8 (21:36):
Not the top of the hill, not the rock Parker Hill.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
I'm not the Rock Parker Heynwie.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
Let me ask you this, what what do you feel
just from being around there?

Speaker 2 (21:46):
The expectations are are they immediate meeting?

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Like hey, we expected, you know, turn around and win
nine and games? Is it just hey, we're just here
to have fun and you know, it's just fun to
have the kind of the media circus around, are they
actually having spectations for the team to do something?

Speaker 8 (22:02):
Well, Julius Peppers just walked by me with a whole
bunch of security crew.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
So uh security big yeah, yeah, he is, Well, what.

Speaker 8 (22:09):
Do you need people for? Anybody about to mess with you?
So Julius Peppers is just up here. Look, he brought
back Bill Belichick. Like Dean you go and bring interest
people care. Okay, now you have legitimacy and people bought that.
And this is look in Carolina basketball, Carolina football. So
Bill Belichick brought that the same.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Didn't they have Max Brown there? Didn't Mac Brown go there?

Speaker 8 (22:32):
Okay, okay, no, I'm asking.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
Name coach. I'm asking Okay.

Speaker 8 (22:39):
Mack Brown, rob he won zero conference title.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
I'm just I'm asking you.

Speaker 8 (22:47):
I like Mac Brown. He won a lot of games,
but I'm just telling you, at the end of the day,
he did not win in the team.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
Okay, what do you expect Bill Belichick to win at
North Carolina?

Speaker 2 (22:56):
I'm dead serious, what do you expect him to win?

Speaker 8 (22:59):
I don't have any expect I'm asking.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
I'm just saying, what do you think? Like like you
you if he if he can.

Speaker 8 (23:05):
Win seven eight games in an ACC, that'll be good
to him, you know. And that's a touchdown for TCU.
That no, no, it is town.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
You must be ahead of us. Of course he's waiting.
The television is way behind you know that. That's what
I'm trying to get. I'm trying to get.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
I'm trying to get a button. I'm betting real quick.
I bet I'm wanting to give you right now. Rob.

Speaker 8 (23:26):
I don't think he wins tonight. How about that? Okay,
don't I don't think he went tonight.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
I feel good about that. I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
He purt around that corner. Yeah, you can't get burned
like that. Uh So, let me ask you this weird things?
What are the points I brought up? Was I feel
as if this was a pride in a Spike Move meeting. Hey,
I'm Bill Belicheck. If six titles been even a couple
other Super Bowls that just happened to lose him. You know,
I've won even as an assistant code defensive coordinator when
I was with the Giants, so on and so forth.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
I I deserve more than this.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
The way the league's treating me, someone should interview me,
soone should want me, and he didn't get that. You
think I feel as if this was him going back
saying I'm about to prove how great I am and
change a program and do I'll bring fanfare and all
of that since the league doesn't want me.

Speaker 8 (24:11):
Coaches coach, all right, Coaches coach, and you go where
you're wanted, not what you're tolerated. And I think that's
what he did, and he's brought he's bought a lot
of buzz here. You're able to bring your son do
what you want to do. Some college jobs are better
than pro jobs because you are the guy doing what
you want to do. And I think Bill has that
right here in al far so that you know this
is this, in my opinion, was the right move for him,

(24:32):
because some of these jobs in the NFL, like for
the Cowboys, for instance, you'd rather be coaching Carolina and
have more control than if you were trying to coach
the Cowboys like Brian shotting.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
Now, but you get a TV job after Brian shot
if you get if you are a coach or a
quarterback with the Cowboys, you get a TV all right.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
So here's a big question, where's his bride to be.
Where's his hot?

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Have you seen her? Though? I'm just asking you haven't
seen her?

Speaker 8 (24:55):
I'm not one of you la guys, So I'm not
doing that.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
No, I'm I'm just saying, have you I'm just asking
have you seen her? She's not around? I thought you
a white walking around so we can see her.

Speaker 8 (25:09):
See, you've been in l A too long. You're worried
about the other stuff. I'm from Texas. I'm about the substance.
I'm not about the style.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
Sell He's from Texas. Where all Jees do.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
All Jerry Jones do is sell us other stuff other
than football.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Stop it. We will.

Speaker 4 (25:23):
We will say this though, Newie, I'm covering TC and
I am covering.

Speaker 8 (25:29):
I'll do the rest of that on Thursday.

Speaker 9 (25:31):
Okay, all right, all right, but Newie, we can at
least can you give me a little credit since when
we did have you on about uh, you didn't believe
that Jerry would trade uh micah right.

Speaker 8 (25:44):
I tell you he waited long enough to go ahead
and get your toes.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
Yes, I'm so.

Speaker 8 (25:53):
Give me, give me my credit.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
Give me, give me my credit with a K is
what I want. My credit is funny?

Speaker 8 (26:00):
Yeah, Okay, Okay, dollar bill for the players Club. He's right,
he's right, cheat me, Okay, you get your credit, cheat me,
thank you, you're right?

Speaker 2 (26:08):
All right.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Well, just the lasting noise, shell shock Dallas. They lose,
lose two great generational talents, just the mood of people
down there. Can they believe it?

Speaker 8 (26:22):
Yes and no, you can believe it because after Luca
we can believe anything. Look, they want seven games and
Michael Parsons if I go win five or six without them? So,
but this is what it is here, guys. It's rough.
It's rough sletting in town these days, rough sletting. So
we gotta go go hockey team or go go s
n W TCS. So it's tall time. Yeah, it's trouble, trouble.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Trouble, trouble.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
At least you got Cooper flag there, right, you can
just there you go play you flag with that.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
Huh.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (26:48):
You know I'm a Carolina fan from growing up basketball
hard and these do kids man Like, if you have
any of these dudes, you gonna bring up in here
between Lively and Kyrie, you know, but flag of black
should be okay, Jason kid, I feel sorry.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
Well he was sitting there looking like a hostage in
the press conference.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
They're like, blink blink twice.

Speaker 8 (27:07):
All right, Jason, he got said we are aligned.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
He was a lying, is what. That's what I heard.

Speaker 8 (27:15):
We are Nico and I are allying, like, okay, buddy,
I get it, poor Jason. But hey, hey me, I'll
say out my line too. But man, how many boy
you just guys just call and bring me down or what?
My god?

Speaker 2 (27:26):
We didn't. We try to find something fun. What you want?
What you want?

Speaker 8 (27:29):
Negativity? Man, That's why I'm going with you, brothers. It's
all negative all the time.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Are you kidding? We're just real positive, real, We just
could we just do it real? Yeah, I'm trying to
mess up something here.

Speaker 8 (27:43):
I'm trying to find some positivity in my life negativity
around man.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
He he We'll call you back with something exactly when
we figure it out, knowing we appreciate you, Thank.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
You, appreciate Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Man.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Later, Yeah, I love the dollar bill reference to players.
If left my hand, it's gonna be some trouble. Trouble.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
I didn't mean to bring him down. I'm just trying
to guess.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
I don't think we thought we had some fair journalistic
We want to see I don't know on the video
did we see the girlfriend.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
I didn't see her.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Anyway, I have a feeling the works again are going
to be like, let's not do that, Like we're not
We're gonna do the opposite of Taylor Swift, which is
ridiculous at least Taylor Swift is What was the other What.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
Was the other woman? The Alabama quarterbacks girlfriend? You remember
that in the blowout?

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Uh it was we're talking about this this one back
in the day when h A J. McCarron.

Speaker 6 (28:34):
It wasn't m or Michael Roy.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
It wasn't.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
I think it was a. He had to think it
was him. Not They had you know, they would always
show her fines.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
He was he must be great to be. Look at
that third and six right now. Focus. But it was
a blowout.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
They just kept But it wasn't not just Brent, because
you notice as an announcer, as a broadcaster, it was
go ahead.

Speaker 6 (29:03):
By the way, guys, Just an update, Jordan Hudson has
been spotted on the ESPN broadcast standing next to Randy Moss.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
So she's there. Yep, she is there.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
I figured that, but we knew, no, no, no, we knew
she was there. That wasn't the question. We just were wanted.
There's your catch again, by the way.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
They keep showing it.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
So why can't greatness happen? You know, handful of time,
No pun it's in it handful of times.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
Because it just doesn't happen that the greatest is the
greatest catch of us say in college football four times
this weekend.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
All right, uh there we go.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Yeah, Aaron Judge rarefied air. Now that he's in a
certain group, can he actually pass? You know who will
tell you it's the OCA. But Rob's back Kelvin Washington

Speaker 2 (30:30):
All right, Rob your man, your guy, Well he ain't
my guy, Bud, Aaron je we cover Aaron Judge.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
It is three hundred and fifty eight home run the
other day, and that tied him with Yogi Barrow, you know,
a long time Yankee icon and Yogi Now, so the
Yanke Yogi Isms have not had a new top five
franchise home run list you ready.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Since nineteen fifty seven.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
Man, that's how long it's been since anyone was able
to enter rarefied air. And now Aaron Judge is in
that spot. I think he's done Joe Demagio on he
has him buy three home runs, so he's going to
start to pass Joe Demagio, Mickey Manno, yes, and then
he's within range of passing Babe Ruth for home runs

(31:19):
as a Yankee, which is incredible and the only point
I believe without question. And you know, he went through
his injury stuff for and he was even injured a
little bit this year, but if you look at his
numbers the last few, they're incredible, Like he's just a machine.
And we talk about all the time, not only the
home runs. The league average is two forty two. He's

(31:41):
batt in three twenty four or something.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
That's like seriously, and he also is an outstanding defender.
I mean obviously, yeah, and that's the word, you know,
that's one of the things I hate about life.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
And I mean this Parson, but that's his only air
in the outfield. You can't you can't forget that though
it's such a big air.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
It's a big air without a doubt, and it's obviously
you never want to have the worst thing happened the
worst time. But I hate that about life in general,
even just nonsports cheffs. Just like you can do everything
right than the one time you did. You can drive
home every day, never drink and drive. Ever then one
day he got messed up at your buddy's birthday, probably
crash like that's what you're known for, even though nine
hundred ninety nine million days you didn't. So life can
just be crazy like that. You know, he has his

(32:17):
one mess up, not to get on morbid, but set
up Ryan.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
So I think what he's done at that size too.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
If it was just power, to your point, that would
be okay, Wow, he's gonna hit home runs six seven,
he's fielding amazingly well, he's hitting for average, hitting for power,
hitting slug. I mean, he's been he's been outside standing
throughout his career, but especially the last you know, six
years or so. He got out of this little slump
he was in for a while. So he Yeah, he's
been remarkable. Man, it's been. It's been good. It's been

(32:46):
good for him, good for the Yankees, good for baseball
to have the Yankees have that kind of guy and
making you know, making headlines and making news.

Speaker 4 (32:53):
And to think seriously when you start to say that
he could replace Babe Ruth on their list, I mean,
I still he's got a long way to go, but
just the idea that look at where he is to
get into the top five, he's got years to go.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
It's not like he's, uh, he's in a problem of
his career, That's what I mean.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
Like you still got another you probably figured two years
of elite, elite, but he's still got another two three
of like you're really good.

Speaker 4 (33:18):
God, guys play you know, baseball you could play to
you're thirty eight or forty years old.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
I mean it's just terrist body, great shape. So yeah,
I mean he's uh, he's he's been, he's been remarkable.
That's where things start to get into numbers versus prestige,
meaning he may eventually pass Babe Ruth, but he's never
gonna pass Baby.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
But though I hear you, because Baby Ruth is a legendary,
like you can't. There's certain people we don't know.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
No one's gonna care the numbers because that's immediate, but
they're gonna go, well, he's got more homeleed people, but
he ain't Babe because you know babies.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
I'll give you that, like just on that.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
But here's the thing that I will say about him Hall.
What he's doing now is it's harder now than when
Babooth played. And I'll tell you why. Back then, guys
pitched like the entire game. They would pitch double headers.
There weren't one hundred percent where they are now. Now
you have all these specialty guys. Everybody comes in and

(34:16):
throws as hard as they can for as long as
they can, so you're not pitching a complete game.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
You're not getting a.

Speaker 4 (34:21):
Hit off of a pitcher four times, right, whereas you're
coming in and they're bringing in different guys, they're all
throwing heat. For him to be able to hit these
kind of home runs off of these fresh arms all
the time is incredible.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
It's hard to hit now, it really is.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
I mean, plus I mean going back to the average point,
I mean I can't express you. You know, I do Dodgers
pre and posting. In fact, there doing a couple of
games coming up, not this weekend but next. But like
I sit next to those guys, no, Markarow, Adrian Gonzalez,
Jay Harrison, so some really good hitters and they just
get so upset. But why can't guys just get hits,
not just home runs. And for him to be able
to just get hits, get single get doubles, and obviously

(35:02):
every one every you know, four at bats whatever, five
at bets, get a home run, whatever it is, that
part of it is remarkable in an error where you
remember just a handful of years ago, it was home run,
a strikeout.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
It's all it was. Yep, we're out of that, thank you.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Thank god, We're you know, guys are finding ways or
speed and the game. They're finding different ways to score.
He's so he's been great. Yeah he made He's probably
gonna do it. And we're gonna look up in about
three years and look at his numbers and be like,
where are we ranking him? Because his numbers are getting
absolutely crazy, man, without a doubt. All Right, we're watching
this game. We know the celebrities are there. Celebrities on

(35:37):
the sideline are doing too much, Rob We got to
talk about it.
