Speaker 2 (00:54):
Tire rack dot Com The Way tire buying should be
coming up. In about one twenty eight minutes, the Hall
of Famer himself, Rod Woodson joins us, and of course
Fox Sports Radio NFL analysts. So our number two here
before we get started on this Cowboys disaster, because that's
(01:15):
what it was.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
They beat Cleveland.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Everybody thought, Oh, they're Roland, that's got his money. Ceedee
lamb oh, you guys don't think the Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Are any good. Jerry and them didn't do anything in
the off season.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Watch oh look look look, and then the radio and
then the Saints came in and Molly wopped him. But
before we before we get there, my man, I want
you to know I got you something special.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Oh here we go. Man, listen, Okay, let me talk
to it. Let me talk to the people. I let
everybody know. It's so for those of you, of course
who are listening, rob who we always like to make
fun of it. Cheap about cheap, cheap, this cheap that
I tell you what this is. First of all, it's
under arms, so you know it's already nice. It doesn't
(01:59):
have like a cut off tag that I can tell you.
Went down to the shot the fashion District downtown LA
and got it for a three dollars eighty two cent.
Now here's what you don't know about me. I know fashion.
That don't mean that as that I'm a stylished brother.
I mean literally, my wife and I own a brand,
and so we start we had to go through I
know quality, and we had a store at the Glendell
Gaaleria for a couple of years, so I know all
(02:21):
this stuff. We designed our own stuff. So this is
real quality, real stretch, real breathing, well wicking process, four
way stretch. This is some good stuff. And then he
didn't do it, didn't iron it on himself, y'all, the
odd couple with Robin Kelvin, he stitched it on. And
then on the on the sleeve we got the Fox
(02:42):
Sports Radio emblem and stitching on here. So this man,
let me tell you something, brother. First off, dap up,
I appreciate you, and you know what I'm gonna do.
I'm gonna rock this too. I'm gonna rock this the
rest of the show. This is hot quality. We're gonna
get a nice picture. And yeah, so just no, I
got something coming for you a little bit later on
today as well.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
It ain't like the old odd couple of stuff and
I got over Chris's name or something.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Okay, this is new. You didn't put Calvin to see you.
I already got to see it there for Chris. Let's make
it Calvin, no like, I just shooting it right now.
For those of you who may be listening, if you
be able to see it, you know, be able to
see it on Twitter. We'll make sure we get it
up there. This is really really nice, brother, I sincerely
a little welcoming gift. And listen, it's starting to cool
down in l A a little bit too that in
the evening, no doubt about it. This is nice, brother,
(03:27):
real talk. I appreciate. I got something coming for you
a little bit later on good. This is really nice.
So so I hate that I got two hours up.
I can't make fun of you now. I feel all
like man right.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
That day, that day will come, trust me, trust me.
After today set up Mary's he set me up, I'm
gonna get I'm thinking, yeah, I think it's gonna be
all nice, sweet, It's definitely I'm gonna show them what
it really is.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
You want to set up? Why up? Yeah, feeling that's
a manipulation tactic battle way I'm seeing that. Is that
in that right now many you're manipulating him and then
manipulating him so I could run the show? Is that?
Is that what you're being nice right now so that
he can't make fun of you up right now? But no, no,
let's get back to No, we can get back to
(04:09):
the sports talk somewhere where I gotta get you in mind.
It got buttered you up in the first hour. We
pushed back he did that was But honestly, this is
really dope, brother, and I appreciate it, greatly appreciate it.
I got tell you, man, you're welcomes.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Man.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
You guys are top notch man. I get we get
the funny intro shout out to Ricky. Did you know
put together the funny. It's been great, been welcoming. Uh yeah, man,
our callers have been there.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
We got our regulars called in to welcome you in,
which was great and.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Yeah, you know, APPREHENDI like, who's it, what's going on?
Let me see I feel about this. I already know.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Yeah, but they already know so far it's totally natural.
I mean, six years a long time. So here we go.
But we're in an hour number two, and uh, let's
talk about that Cowboys game. I mean that was a
game I actually picked the Saints. I think the spread
was like six and a half, and I was like,
the Saints, you know, I thought they could come in
(04:58):
there and play close and and possibly win. I wasn't
expecting to blow out that. It turned intwo no, no.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
But listen, first of all, I think there's a there.
Let me start by saying something we did not address
the first hour and I think everybody should be a
bit measured, right, this is week two. Most teams don't
play in the preseason. Most teams, guys are just getting acclimated,
guys are just getting some reps in. So the first
few weeks really you kind of want to take a break.
And this is why a lot of people are still
(05:26):
big on the Cincinnati Bengals or big on some other
teams who kind of last few years of as long
as they're healthy, as started slowly and progressing to the season,
and so losing to the Saints would not be that
big of a deal. Look, Derek Carr is playing well,
the offense is coming back, Alvin Kamara looks great, They're
moving the ball very well. Offensive line looks great. So
you can say, if I would have told you Dallas
(05:47):
would either barely beat the Saints or lose, it's how
you lose, right, It's that And somebody can't come in here,
and than once you four ko is a butt whoop
forty four nineteen would know here's the key. Part two
rock no flukey plays. That's the part right, because we
see sometimes that a guy hits the back of his helmet,
goes in the air, interceptions return pick six happens once
or twice in y'all at the Flukey game. You know,
(06:09):
they got flat out, absolutely dominated. And that's what makes
us alarming if you're a Dallas Cowboys fan, because as
Newie scrugs, who if you miss that party's out in Dallas.
He is with NBC there sports broadcaster there. He brought
up a great point in that.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
They're only beating up on the teams that are bad
or mid They're not beating up on the playoffs seams.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Right, they got George George Love got a bunch of
money because of them.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
But that was always the argument about paying Dak, that
Dak's record isn't good against the good teams, and he
destroys and puts up huge numbers, like he had a
great year last year, putting up big numbers, but they
don't come against the teams you really want. And now
when you couple this, so if you're Jerry Jones, they
(06:54):
had a sixteen game home winning streak during the regular season,
they lose in the playoffs forty eight to thirty two
in wild card like a shocker. They lose that game,
and then you come home after winning in Cleveland, right,
and you give up forty four points, I mean forty
(07:14):
eight and forty two in your last two home games
after you had a sixteen game winning streak.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
I think what scary two rob is if you're a Cowboys,
if you're on the defensive side of the ball, or
a fan of the team is What also makes it
disturbing is the fact that the Saints went down in
so many different types of drives, like, oh, you want
a shorter drive, bet, you want an eighty, here's another eighty,
You want a sixty nine drive, you want to you know,
they just went I think it was six straight drives scoring,
(07:41):
And that's that's that's humiliating again because they were able
to do it in a multitude of ways against the Cowboys.
They ran the ball, They passed the ball four hundred
and thirty two yard That is ridiculous. And then if
you take away the long pass the seedy land where
he really it was more him right, nice pass, but
it was a.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Miss communication with the two DKs to each other and tackle.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Yeah, you take away that big play. What did the
Cowboys do? Nothing? You didn't stop them. It wasn't like
it was a shootout, right, they lost thirty six to
forty four. Then that was a great game. It was
a shootout, something like the Bills in Kansas City some
years back, of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Rams
a few years back. Like, man, that was a shootout.
This was not the case. They just got ran over
on both sides. And the big uglies, as they say
(08:25):
on neither on either side did not come to play
for Dallas. And that's also disappointing. And you can tell
Dallas was feeling themselves from week one thoas what we do.
Here we come twelve and five again, Baby, this is
automatic buck put it in, pencil, it in, pin it
in matter of fact, go get somebody, go to a
big right in twelve and five. This is what we do.
And they forgot. You got to come and play.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
And where are you on the Michael Parson, Chris and
I had talked about this for a long time about
the podcast, like this guy's a good young player. Put
the podcast down? Can you focus in just I'm I
don't have an issue in the off season or even
Draymond Green I had issues with it having a podcast
(09:07):
during the playoffs. You know where you're supposed to be
playing and locked in and not trying to charge up
the other team and say all these defamatory stuff on podcasts.
Michael Parson I was trying to rename his podcast to
turn off as micaeh is what I want to call
a podcast. But he's supposed to be this great defensive
player and their defense has been dog due, especially the
(09:31):
last two home games.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
I mean, this is a problem for the Cowboys. It is.
And I'll say this first of all, the two paces
out of two, it ain't going back, right. Everybody feels entitled.
Now we have millions of people who have podcasts. I'm
talking average everyday folks, the export and you know this,
how many athletes think I know the game, I can
have that podcast, right, Oh, I'm funny, I can have
(09:54):
a play all right, Well, good luck. Everybody thinks they
can have a podcast. From the two ladies who love
to talk about doing naw to anything, everybody has one.
So the toothpastes out the two. We ain't going back.
Every athlete almost feels as if, why don't I have
a podcast? Like I didn't know people were tuning in
to the Trey Young podcast like Who's who?
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Was?
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Like, you know, who needs a podcast? Trey Young needs
a podcast.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
But if I'm a team, I'd be like, dude, but
you can't. But see this means unable to What do
you mean I can't you What are you gonna say,
like their contractually is going to say I can't do
I can't jump out of a plane, right, I can't.
But you can't do this. You can't have a podcast
during the season. How's that you can't have a podcast
during the season and the off season?
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Do whatever you want? Because you know what that sounds like?
That sounds like stick to sports. No sports, just do this,
do what I'm paying you to do.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
No, it's about focusing in on the job at hand.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
I don't want you to do a million things.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
When you're playing sports is a short of a life
shelf life.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
You don't get to play it for forty years unless
I'm not disagreed, you know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Like like, it's so, can you focus in on these
eight or ten years that you're playing professional sports. I'm
paying you a lot of money. And if you want
to get into podcast business later and you want to
do all that, Michael Parsons is you know all the stuff,
but there are no results. He's the leader of this
defense he's supposed to. They were mentioning him in with
(11:19):
large tailer.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Well, I mean, I'm not gonna so I'm not gonna
sit up here and acting like Micah has n't. I'm
not busy. Excuse me. I'm not gonna act like he
has not been dominating for the most part. He can't
lead a defense. He's not there. There's one dude and
ten other players on the defense, so he can't do it,
all right, I get that, But so he's done his part.
But I won't disagree with you on the fact that look,
(11:40):
the attention that you're giving to a podcast, because you look,
you know what it entails. Right. They can say, oh,
it doesn't take away, it's some off time. But you
gotta talk. Talk to producers, you gotta talk to guests,
you gotta plan. You might all reach up. You can opponent, Yeah,
you can say some other stuff. You can. You might
even just say too much about you. Yeah, man, you know,
we ain't like the way we got ran over last week,
(12:01):
so we're gonna make an emphasis to make to load
the box a little bit. You might say too much
about what you're gonna do. I agree with you. However,
I'm living in twenty twenty four brother and the two pace.
It ain't going back up in there. People are absolutely
feeling like this is what I'm supposed to do, calling
their agents. Can I get me a show? Can hey?
Can Fox Sports Radio get me a show? Can I
get a podcast? Can I Heeart give me a podcast?
(12:23):
You're not doing anything if you're not if you're not
in their minds, Rob, If I'm not attending the White Party,
if I don't have a podcast, if I don't have
you know, cool fashion, if I'm not enjoyed in endorsing
some brands, I'm not doing anything. God o the days
of you know the Tim Duncans. If you will, I
just want to come play, shut up, work play. Where
are my flip flop? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Where I'm win and win five championship and shop and
shop at Ross. That's right, there's nothing wrong with that.
I see the bag over there? Yeah, we want I
see your bag over there? Eight seven seven ninety nine.
If I do shop at Ross, Hey.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
I'm not married, but shots at Ross you just gotta.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Be ninety nine on Fox. We want to hear from
you on this Cowboys. Is this are people overreacting or
is this a trend? We got back to back terrible
games at home against for Dallas. The defense is bad,
the running game is bad. What is wrong with the Cowboys?
We're playing the blame game? Who are you blaming? You
(13:20):
know that this this this the Cowboys the latest thinker
in a big game that against the Saints. So we
want to hear from you. Eight seven to seven ninety

Speaker 1 (14:57):
I had to nerve Rob. So go go to a
party recently, a wedding in fact, and for two seconds
we thought at this reception they weren't about to play
this song. We almost tore the wedding down for a second.
The reception all you and is mandatory one must play
back that thing up. That is for sure. Magic City
Monday's Fox Sports Radio, Rob Parker kelvin Washington, it's the
(15:20):
odd couple. Thank you for listening. Hopefully you've been enjoying
what you've been hearing thus far. And again shout out

phone number we're talking Dallas Cowboys. Well, is going to
talk to Rod Woodson in about seven or eight minutes,
so he'll be joining us. But first your calls on
the Cowboys playing the blame game? Who is the blame here? Defense?
Running game coaching? Jerry Jones, what is the issue?
Speaker 3 (16:24):
MJ?
Speaker 1 (16:25):
And New Orleans join the odd couple of Fox Sports.
We are no, this is going. What's up?
Speaker 3 (16:29):
MJ?
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Mondy, no doubt? How were you? What's up? Jay? Appreciate it, brother,
I'm good.
Speaker 6 (16:38):
Welcome Calvin with a change, Calvin wa wash Yes, sir,
thank you.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
M J.
Speaker 6 (16:45):
iRED that you're bringing in some youthful magy.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
To the couple.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
Yeah. I didn't like that headline. What does that mean? No, No, see,
that's that's what lies. You gotta read the whole article.
You gotta read the whole article article.
Speaker 6 (16:58):
I did read the whole I am reading it. But Rob,
that means you need to stay out of those so
called clubs at Magic City and you need to get
some of that, uh some of that what's that? Some
of that big hit man? Because I think there's a
you know, there's some some stuff that's going down.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Man.
Speaker 6 (17:12):
You need to get you know, get on points because
my man is bringing that youthful energy.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Yeah, okay, I got it, Yes, yes, thank you.
Speaker 6 (17:21):
The Dallas football team is America's proven mediocre organization. I'm
on the West Bank of New Orleans, right across the bridge,
and I'm surrounded by some winning but mostly losing fans
since nineteen sixty seven. Now, I was once tolet noctege,
but I'm no longer on it. Who's the blame?
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Rob?
Speaker 6 (17:42):
All of the above? Everything? And you know, I noticed
you want to talk about podcasts and michaeh.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Rob.
Speaker 6 (17:49):
You know, let's keep it a buck, Rob. You know
you have to porecast, you have a you have a
barber shop. You know you'll be teaching that. You know
USC off from l A. So teach at USC and
you do a mirad of things. You got a major
league Broso, so let's slow down on that now, keep
keeping true though.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
Yeah, I mean, I appreciate MJ Man, It's great to
meet you. Brother. Robbie's calling you out, calling you a hypocrite.
That's what I heard. He said, you got seventeen jobs,
and Mike, you can't have to no all the podcast
I don't. I'm not on a professional What you mean
this is? This is top too. You know what the
streets were saying. No, the streets were saying, Kevin.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
But the difference is, I'm not my defense ain't giving
up forty points a game at home.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
That's what the difference is.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
I'm hitting a home run on the podcast MLB bro
on the Yard Couple, I'm hitting the home run.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
He's out here telling people shut up and dribble. No,
I'm that's telling him out of a driple. You can't have.
But one job is what Robin is saying. Why you
playing pro sports at this time?
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Mike in Texas, you're on the Yard Couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
What's up, Mike, gentlemen, how y'all doing, dude? Great?
Speaker 7 (18:57):
Yeah, welcome to the Moves Odd Couple.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
I appreciate you, brother, Thank.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
You for sure.
Speaker 7 (19:04):
Now it starts with Jerry Jones. Man. He kept saying
that we're all in. You know, during preseason he did
absolutely enough and he had I'm turning to get check
on buckleyhead. I'm going to get Derek Henney Henrich who's
from Dallas. He bother not to do that shot. Jacobs. Okay,
and all of the win football games. You got to
be able to stop the run and run. They can't
do neither or of them. This is running back by
committee is not working. He Zekal's the game is fast
(19:27):
in boys running like he's running in semen. But UH
and Mike zimmer Man, he got to be more innovative.
The game is fast them back.
Speaker 8 (19:37):
He's like a reacher.
Speaker 7 (19:38):
He was walking them. Ola guy. But you know that
that offensive coordinator for the for the uh.
Speaker 8 (19:45):
They have the team.
Speaker 7 (19:46):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, he worked with them and he knows
I guess he knows all of them's weakness. Apparently because
he put on the clinic.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Oh yeah, I was.
Speaker 7 (19:55):
Talking about this guy is gonna be the next coaching
candidate or whatever.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
It was a there's no doubt about it thing Mike
to call.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
Mike brought up some great points. A couple of things
that Listen, the Cowboys had an opportunity to come away
and get a really good stout running back right, get something.
They they went back to their ex right and spotted
blocks because it didn't it didn't cost any money. That's
why they went back there. But he can't. Okay, that's fine.
If you're telling me he's your third string, right, if
you're telling me, we're not really depending on him. We
(20:25):
need him as a locker room guy. You we need
him sparingly. We'll use them sparingly. Ezekiel's out there leading
him or tied i should say, in rushing yards with
fifty six which is terrible. Fifty six yards and two games.
That should not be your leading back right now. So
that is so that's a missed opportunity. Now getting they
had to get back his money, they had to get
CDs money, but the but they had an opportunity to
come away with some better backs. Now that wouldn't have
(20:47):
cured everything, because we talked about the defense is bad,
but you can at least have a back that you
believe in, not somebody you didn't believe in.
Speaker 8 (20:53):
Let go.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
They went back in spun of block like, oh, girlfriend,
vern in Detroit, you're on the odd Couple Sports radio?
What's up?
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Burn? First time caller, and I'd like to welcome Kevin
kelvin Washington to the radio. I'm a first time caller
because I vowed to never see to Rob Parker ever
life because of his stance on the goat. Tom Brady,
I am a Michigan lover and the president of the
time bra Why.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
What do you call in for you said you never
want to talk to me.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
I wanted to welcome Kelvin to this program to bring
from Sunshine to the biggest hater that have ever came.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Out of Michigan.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
Wow, why I'm loving this. But even though I've always
listened to the show, Rob, you always make me listen
at some point until you start talking about Thomas Edward,
Patrick Brady. But I digress.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
All right, there you go, all right, Burn, go ahead,
the cheeterh go ahead.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
So my my key, and who I blame for all
of this, and why I love him and I hope
he livese eternally is Jerry Jones. Until he goes to
the upper room with Jesus, you will never see a
championship in Dallas. He is a poor man's William clay Ford,
and I speak from experience Michigan. He will run that
(22:13):
organization as he sees fit, and until he leaves, they
will never see a championship. I love the failure of
the Dallas Cowboys year in and year out under the
leadership of Jerry Jones. He hires these coaches, he props
them up, but he's really the puppet master. I don't
understand how this crap team continues to be an America's team,
(22:36):
and I love their demise every year. I blame Jerry wholeheartedly.
I'm glad Dak stole that money and he's going to
run away with it and not make the championship game
again this year. I put it all on Jerry. Love
the show. Welcome Kevin Rob you the man.
Speaker 8 (22:54):
Man.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Appreciate it, my man. That's my God right there. He
let us know. I feel it, and I mean listen,
he ain't saying that a lot of people don't feel
with Jerry Jones. The fact of the matter is we
owner GM podcast. We gonna tell him though I have
a radio shows, never radio show either. I've said that
as well about Jerry Jones. Own the team. Hire some
football as people. That's so hard you do him? He
(23:15):
ain't doing he said, no, Hey, he said, nobody can
do the job better than me. Thanks for listening to
The Odd Couple Podcast.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
That's right, Rod Woodson, Hall of Fame dB. I used
to get busy with him on Madden Lambole Rod Woodson
of course Fox Sports Radio NFL analysts as well. Make
sure you hit him up on Twitter. Rod Woodson twenty
six Rod, how are you, brother?
Speaker 8 (23:57):
What's going on from Brothers doing good?
Speaker 2 (23:59):
Man? Oh, I was gonna say, welcome in Kelvin Washington,
replacing Chris Broussard here on the Yond Couple.
Speaker 8 (24:06):
Yeah, yeah, Hey, congratulations.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
I appreciate it, man, Thank you so much. There's a
whole lot to get you. Yeah, so much. Yeah. So
I want to ask you a couple different a couple
of different things I want. I want to start with
going back to this. Wool's been talking about the Cowboys,
and of course, look, they are the team everybody wants
to talk about. They ate a whole bunch of money,
like one hundred million dollars came out over the offseason here,
(24:33):
and then they went Week one and people were saying,
see it was worth it, Dak's worth this seed, lamb
looks great, everything looks good. And then they get beat
down by the Saints. What do you make of not
only Rod I said this, You've played, you know how
it goes. You can lose a game, that happens. You're
gonna be seventeen games you're gonna lose. Things will happen.
Is there such thing as it's how you lose? It's
getting your heart taken from you, it's getting there. You know,
(24:56):
your your heart snatched straight out of your chest. Does
that matter? And how do you tofy that if you're
a coach or a leader in that team.
Speaker 8 (25:02):
Yeah, not too many. You don't see too often now
and now this is our preferences, but you don't see
too often where team just get beat down and blown
out and then come back and win a super Bowl. Now,
I will say, you know the forty nine ers last year,
the Ravens blew them out and they still got to
(25:23):
the Super Bowl and had and they could have had opportunity,
They had opportunity to win the football game. So it
really weekend and week out, it really doesn't matter. But
you as a team, you don't only want to get
beat like that, but it can happen. And now now
if it happens multiple times in uh the season, now
you're gonna start getting worried because it's gonna be somewhere
(25:44):
along the line. The coach got to figure out, why
am I having this letdown from my team, and how
do I motivate those guys uh to not have that again.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Hey, hey, let's switch over to the team that you,
of course do the radio color, the Baltimore Ravens. They
look like they were in the driver's seat to get
the first win of the season and then have a
terrible loss.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
I mean the rave I mean the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Didn't like they could score after Week one, and they
come in and get the couple scores in the fourth
quarter to win that game.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
What happened?
Speaker 8 (26:18):
Yeah, that was that was a tough one. It really
started when Kelly. It was about twelve minutes agoing fourth quarter,
they scored, the game was tied. They kicked the ball
off Kelly, the running back that was just brought up,
caught the ball about the two yards into the end
zone and he hesitated to come out, and then he
came out. He got tackled on like the nineteen yard line,
(26:40):
twenty yard line. They were three and out. Doubt had
this worst punt of his his career so far in
the National Football League, like a twenty five yarder and
then they had an illegal procedure penalty and so they
got the ball like on the forty five yard line,
and it was just it was just kind of turned.
They just couldn't make those plays in late in the
(27:04):
game to steal those games like they did a year ago.
Now they still I mean, it's because week they're on two.
Now they've won. They started going two multiple times I
think four times in their in their history, and the
last time they had it was twenty fifteen. They did
not make the postseason. So you're a little concerned. I'm
(27:24):
not real concern. You still got one of the best.
You got, you know, one of the best and most
exciting players in the National Football League, and Lamar Jackson.
They're still trying to figure out how to use Derrick Henry.
He had a better game than he did in the
Week one. But they're playing Dallas and Dallas's got blew out. So,
I mean, somebody, you know, they can't go zero to
three and think they're going to make the postseason.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
No, I mean, and the good thing you mentioned listen,
I think if there's a we were talking about the Cowboys,
right and how did the franchise. I mean, Jay Jones
is great as far as marketing and all that good stuff,
but the organization has just kind of been not great
over the last twenty twenty five years. We know that.
And Baltimore's kind of been the opposite. They've just been steady,
not a lot of headlines, don't typically get into too
much trouble, you know, and they just come to play
(28:07):
and have some success. They haven't ultimately won that super
Bowl and a little bit, just a little bit of time,
but I think they'll bounce back. I think they'll be fine.
I want to go to the the nemitosist for them,
if you will. The Kansas City Chiefs and how they
just found a way to win. It's funny, Rod, a
few years back they were blowing everybody out right touchdowns
all over the place, scoring a bunch of a bunch
(28:27):
of points.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
Now, all of a sudden, they just know how to
win tight games. You mean they get all the breaks
is what they get. Well, that's good. We can go
there too, Rod. I've never seen anything like it. It
reminds me of when Brady knowing the Patriots got every
single call or every you know that what I'm talking
about the.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Chiefs well, but there's a consistency, and that's winning. Winning
teams get these calls.
Speaker 8 (28:52):
Right Rod, They find a way to win, right, And
you got the best quarterback in the Mass Football League
and Patter Mahomes playing for your team. So he's going
to make a lot of plays with the seed, get
out of the pocketive stem plays, throw the ball down
the field. You know, the pass interference call. Yeah, when
you it's a it was a and live when you
watch it live, it was a bang bang play right
(29:14):
when you slow it down and rewind it. Yeah. Well, yeah,
he's a step early, But a lot of people forget
in the National Football League, now that was passing apperience,
and I've given him that that was passing appearance. They
do get the calls quite a bit, even if it's
not if the play shouldn't have been called. What I
would think that the people need to start understanding is
(29:34):
that deep into backs have their right to the football
just like the receivers do. As long as they can
time it up and connect to the receiver is the
same time the ball gets here. So if it would
have been if the ball would have got there and
he hit him, at the same time that would have
been a past in appeerence, but he was a step early,
so they're going to give it to him. So it happened.
(29:56):
Good teams find a way to win.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Hey play they final, no, no doubt about it.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
Last thing, Rod, we want to ask you Bryce Young,
bench Frandy Dalton. The Panthers got a lot of issues
the offensive line. I mean, it's not a good team.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
We get it. Weapons, it's not all Bryce Young, okay,
but he just has to blame.
Speaker 8 (30:17):
They're blaming the kids, right, They're blaming the kid who
still learn how to play football and they can't protect him.
He can't get a three step drop and he getting hit.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Let me let me I agree. I agree with all
of that. But I'm asking you, Rod, when you look
at him. I'm not talking. I know it's hard to
evaluate because so many other things are going wrong, but
does he look I mean that the size thing, which
was the issue. Of course CJ. Stroud was drafted after him.
That doesn't help him. That CJ's doing great and he's not.
(30:49):
You know, when people start looking at all those things,
I mean the eye test, does he look like he's
going to be a franchise quarterback to you.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
That's all I'm asking.
Speaker 8 (30:59):
It's still I still gotta I gotta wait to see
him like I normally don't want a greater kid and
telling how good he's going to be into his third year.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
Okay, you really don't want to because the kid.
Speaker 8 (31:11):
Is still learning how to play in the league. And
now it's imperative that players go to a team that
has good coaches. Coaching matters in the National Football League.
I've never and now the problem is that most teams
have these younger coaches. Young coaches are still learning how
to coach football, and now they're trying to tell this
(31:35):
kid how to be a great player. You know, there's
you gotta see glimpses this year. There got to be
some flashes somewhere along the line in games, even if
they lose, the games where he's making some really good reads,
some good throws. But the main thing is they got
to give him protection, and he has to understand if
(31:55):
he's not getting protection, then his quick rhythm throws got
to be better, and he has to he has to
find his hots. He has to find his quick He
has to find all those reads faster because he knows
his guys aren't going to give him the protection that
he needs. And then if he get started doing that,
Lisa tells me in my head, is that, Hey, he
knows there's gonna be a free runner. I'm gonna take
(32:18):
care of my throwing. Yeah about getting rid of the
football to Miles and receiver.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
His name is Rob Woods in the Hall of Famer. Hey, Rob,
we appreciate it as always, my man, Thank you, looking.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Forward to this ball season. Appreciate you. Right, you see
what he said, Man, get that boy some time there
you go. We want to just kick him out already,
kick him out of the NFL. Rock Can he get
some time? Not with me? All right?
Speaker 2 (32:38):
Coming up next, we're gonna get your thoughts to speaking
about time on Caleb Williams, the Bears quarterback after week
number two. Not pretty, but we'll do that and much more.

One hundred and eighty y'all, wow, one hundred and eighty.
You know how many touchdowns?
Speaker 2 (34:03):
How many fo fo? No wonder the Cowboys got blowed out.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
That's exactly why they got blown out. Okay, big win
over the Cowboys will get. Congrats to Alba Kamara for
being our Express pros Pro of the week.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
How many time you hear that in the barbershops. They
got blowed out. I got blowed out.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
Speaking of barbershops, one of the things that go good
in barbershops, right when you're hanging out there watching the games,
it's food. And I had to tell you I had
to return the favor. First of all, what they put
in these bags. Now, this is the strongest bag I've
e seen in my life. So I know you are
a man who loves wings, so I had to get
you some wings. My brother, Oh, my man. Yes, everybody,
(34:41):
this just for the whole the whole crew. Yes, it's
day one of the odd couple two point oh. Yes, Steve,
Steve ain't poked his head up all day. I say wings, everybody.
Steven jumped out of the update booth.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
There.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
We got some more wings here as well, So yes,
you got the wings there. Then we got MOI I
think we got we got some fries here all right,
all the condiments. So everybody, Yeah, this is the warm
welcome the break. Here you can come get some wings.
I appreciate this. Thank you very nice. I figure you
know what I mean. We've been here all day. We
got to eat this banana. Ain't cutting it, you know,
I'm trying to be healthy over here and get my
(35:14):
life together, Rob. But say I had to bring the
wings because I actually, if you go eat wings, at
least eat some buffalo wild wings and wings stops from somebody.
I can't have you eating no rap wings out here.
No no, no shout to routs and I'll get my
groceries there. But I don't want to get the wings
like that. Okay, some good wings in front of me.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
All right, let's talk about a quarterback that needs some
wings or air under his ball is a Caleb Williams.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
You got me little worried. We're going happy nervous. You
was talking about the flated balls and ro paranoid for
a second.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
No, yeah, the two were underthrown balls for interception yesterday
and Sunday night football. But your take and your thoughts obviously,
living out here in southern California, you got to watch
him up close and personal, and it's been a struggle.
I mean it's been a struggle to Bears have a
really good defense. They were in that game the whole way,
had a chance actually to win that game, and then
(36:06):
wound up he threw a pick and it kind of
sealed the game. And then the Texans had a field
goal to put him up by nine and kind of
sealed everything.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
So where are you on Caleb Williams. I think Caleb
Williams is some of what While I was trying to
be and am a bit favorable for Bryce Young in
the sense of, hey, we still don't know look what
he surrounded with, I think Cayleb Williams is in a
case where listen, the Chicago Bears haven't had a quarterback
since nineteen never And you can say Jim McMahon if
you want to go, Jim McMahon wasn't a great qual
(36:36):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
Jimmid sid Luckman was their last great franchise courter right.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
And obviously Rex Grossman was able to get them to
a Super Bowl, but that was behind that amazing defense,
running game and also special teams with Devin Hester. So
but what I like about Kayleb Williams, He's an interesting cat,
and he caught a lot of flag of sc for
some things. He's kind of a different type of leader.
It's not your traditional row Rah. He's not gonna Russell
Williams Wilson. You g Golli shucks, Gil Hocks he's not
(37:02):
gonna do that. He's not gonna He's a little unique
in his approach as far as being a leader. But
for what we're hearing, all the right guys in the
locker rooms like him. They like him, the leaders in
the team like him. They like what they're seeing from him.
And I like the difference. So you know how you
said the eye test with Bryce Young, You see that
with Kayler Willims. There some throws that he's made where
you go, okay, you see them.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
That's what I'm saying, like, like, there's a difference, and
I think that's what Bryce is missing. And I get
all the deficiencies with the Panthers and everything. Caleb, I'm
not ready to be like, oh, he's played two games
and he can't play. I just his body of work,
the heisman and stuff that I saw him do at SC.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
I just know I'll tell you why, because there's certain
people who they can elevate a team just simply buy
them alone. Now, again, he's not gonna win all the games,
but I think we all see enough with Kayler Willis
just go okay. As he keeps getting used to this
speed of this team, they keep finding out the way
their offensive schemes are gonna go. He looks like a
(38:04):
guy who can take a team that may be middling,
that may be average, and give them an extra three
or four wins simply by how good they're great he is,
and that is a differentiator between he and a Bryce Young.
I'm not saying Bryce Young is anywhere near as talented.
We've talked about the talent of Caleb Williams for years now,
that this guy could have been a number one pick
coming out of his first year at that seat, so
we knew the talent. So I think what I'm seeing
(38:25):
from him, he's going through the hard you heard with
Cid strouton hanging there is gonna be tough. It's gonna
be rough, but he has what it takes to be
a really good quarterback in this league. So I like
what I'm seeing from Caleb as far as talent ability.
He'll start to put it together. I hope he doesn't
against the Lions. You know what I'm saying. It's in
the same division, But I think he's somebody you stick with,
and he's passed the eye tests and he seems like
(38:47):
what I was worried about. He's passing the locker room
tests as well. Guys seem to be sticking with him
so far.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
All Right, there it is coming up next, our number three,
Dan Campbell already. I'm gonna tell you he's gonna be
the reason why the Lions won't get back to the
NFC Championship Game. I'm gonna break it down for you.
It is the Odd Couple Rock Park of Kelvin, Washington,
on a magic City Monday, Stick and stay America.
