(01:53):
I'm glad you're here. You played in the NFL, you
went through the draft process, and there's just been a
lot of talk about Shador Sanders and all of a sudden,
folks are kind of questioning his character or some of
the ways in which he handled himself in interviews. Some
people just don't like his bragadocia style. He's fully aware

(02:13):
of that too. If you've heard him in interviews over
the last few months, He's got a know. Some people
think I'm a bad guy just because I like jewelry.
Just I'm a bad guy because I got a nice car.
He's like, no, that's not the case. And to be
honest with you, I keep reminding folks, is we've not
seen or heard really anything bad about him, not in
any trouble, not any issues. Is he ultra confident? Yeah?

(02:35):
Have you met his dad? You think his dad was
gonna let him walk around? I don't know. I'm just
happy to be here. G golly shucks. You think his
dad was gonna let him walk around like that? No?
Absolutely not. But the things that you would look for,
the concern players and teammates and talking bad about him,
It's been nothing but that. The set. We've had callers
Carrie from Colorado say, man, I'm out here, and these

(02:57):
guys what they mean in the town, what they do,
how they're in the community has meant so much. Tous
Robin I Center and had calls about it, and so
I'm not saying that he's gone into every situation with
maybe the humility the league is used to, maybe the
kind I'm just happy to be here that the league
is used to. Dude's been making money for years. I
was just about to say he's been making money more

(03:19):
than maybe some of the coaches and sit in front
of it the last few years when and Il deals,
he's been more famous than a lot of these guys.
But to me, if he's playing well, he's producing, and
that's what we're looking for as an organization. We do
our background checks. Man, all we keep hearing is he's
the hardest worker, first in, last out. Man. All his
teammates love him, man, the community loves him.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Man.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
He went to a smaller school in Jackson State, they
started to win, goes to Colorado and have one win
before he got there. Then he goes to sixth in
the nine. Like, I'm like, uh, I want my guy
with a little bit of confidence. I want my guy
being like you got if you've got me on your team,
you've got a winner. You played in the league. Ain't
that what you want from your quarterback, help me out.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's different. So right right now, you
just said it with n I L. These kids have
had money for a while. So you talk about the
jewelry or whatever. If you go one step above that
in the NFL, what are those guys wearing jewelry? They
already have it, so they have it now, so they're
able to put it on display. And that's part of
who they are and their kids. Let them have fun

(04:21):
with what they're doing.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Right.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
You talk about the background check and all that stuff,
that's real. They go deep too, and so you've heard
some story. Yeah, they go deep. I've heard they go deep.
And so like you talk about Shador, you talk about
him as a player, does his teammates like him?

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Check?

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Yes, coaching staff loves them, yep, check them a little
bit more. The community love Chack.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
All right.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
So you get that guy who's confident. You got a
guy that believes he's the best player in the field.
He's going to walk out there and he's working hard
on underneath that, not on top of that, underneath that.
Because we can see whatever we say right as a fan,
we're gonna see what we want to see true, But
if he has the stuff underneath that's always hard working,
and he presents himself in a situation where I'm confident
I can get the job done and he gets it done.

(05:12):
None of that. All this is all a mute point.
But if it gets to a place and the success
doesn't happen, this stuff will always be there and he's
gonna have to look at it then. And that's the
big thing that you know, that that goes to that
happens all the time. You know, you can equate that
to guys who are busy, Right, I'm doing shows, I
got it, I'm gonna rip, I'm on New York Fashion
Week even though we just lost the game. They see

(05:33):
me on the runway right, or then I got a podcast.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Boy, please, you better be winning, because the first thing
fans are gonna do, and maybe even your own coach,
is that man, I'm seeing you out here in these
bail bottom pans in fashion Week, and I'm seeing you
worried about this, and you're doing commercials and you're doing podcasts.
We're three out of our last ten games. We want,
we need you to lock in. And even if you
were locked in, it's just a perception. That's it, and

(05:57):
that's something I can now point to and say, that's
why we're losing. That's why you're not focused because you're
doing that. That's the number one thing.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
It all depends on if you're winning, because if you
don't and you have that little mini slump whatever whatever
it is, whatever, whatever it is, Yeah, that's that's the issue,
and they're going to bring it up.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Paul George was what Shae was reminded of. Shade. He
just and Paul, Yeah, because I think Philly. I think
Philly was like, man, this ain't La where we know
everybody's in commercials and TV and people do that. Bro,
that's Philly. They will crucify it. They was about to
go get the meek meal. They're about to call Oozie
vert all the everybody. Hey, Gilly the kid, get Paul

(06:37):
because Paul is out here. While Paul podcast p had
to put the piece to for pauls he had to
pause it for a minute. Lill right, let me just
let me get back to basketball, right, because we are
not playing well and I personally am not playing with
you personally. Can you walk us through what it's like
in these meetings, what they're looking for you know, because
for him, if you just look at the tape and
and they'll someone will say, well, he was that great

(07:00):
under pressure. Did you see the pressure he was He
looked like it was looking like Patrick Mahomes in the
Super Bowl a lot of times, because you know, they
were still trying to recruit and get bigger guys and
they didn't have the bigs on both sides of the ball.
That was probably really one of the only real flaws
what the Colorado team is they didn't have the big
uglies if you will, you know, and so therefore there
were a lot of times, yeah, over those couple of
years where Schador's running for his life.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Yes, it's you know, it's that the interview process is huge.
It is because they can see you, they can see
the player, and they can like the player, and they
know that's part of part of the process of actually
getting the guy you want. The tape, the tape matters,
but when you get face to face with these guys,
you can sway one of those guys in your favor
and you can sway.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Them the other way as well.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
And so that part really does matter because I think
you want to get guys that no ball number one
of course, especially a quarterback, he has.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
To know ball.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
And so when you break down those meetings and you
actually tell that guy to go up to the board
and draw, you know, draw a basic concept for a
pass route that you guys ran for your season, and
we're going to show you a defense that you know
that's built to stop that.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
What can you get us to go in?

Speaker 4 (08:05):
If that guy can't answer that question, you're gonna you're
probably not gonna take that guy right or he's gonna
fall down the draft.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
So it matters there.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
But also the type of person you are at the heart,
you can tell Shador, even with his bravado the stuff
that he has about him, to change all that stuff.
He's a very well spoken, well mannered young man and
you could see that at the basis. And so if
you get to sit with somebody and see eye to eye,
face to face and have a conversation, that matters.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
It really does. Tom Brady has just been raving about
him the last couple of years as he spent a
lot of time with them on the offseason and what not,
kind of helping him get right and train and learn
and understand the game. Somewhere he couldn't speak any highly
higher of Chador. But again, I think I do think
there's an element of what a quarterback is supposed to
look and sound like and how that has been altered

(08:53):
a little bit over the last handful of years. And
what I mean is, yes, Lamar Jackson fifteen years ago
probably drops even further than he did, even though he
was a Heisman winner, and dag nerk should have maybe
possibly won two Heismans because he doesn't look or sound apart.
He's got the corn rows or he's got the other
types of braids. Seriously, you know what I mean. He'll

(09:14):
talk how he wants to talk. He might. He's just
a different kind of cat. And he has been authentically
himself and that's why it's great that he went to
an organization in Baltimore who is completely all about that
and bring who you are. John Harbaugh could not love
him anymore exactly who he is, because you know what,
he's a great dude. He works hard. We never hear
any issues with him, and that's all he wants to
do is ball and get better. He said, Remember he

(09:34):
said her a few months ago, I don't even want
to be friends with the other quarterbacks. I'm just trying
to beat him and get better. But if you were
in a room with him, and a quarterback is supposed
to look and sound a certain way exactly, and you know,
I think there's an element you mightn't. I don't know.
I don't quite get this kid. Cam Ward is another one. Yes,
different bravado. You know it kind of just talks like you.

(09:55):
I could see them, you know, some people being like,
it's not how a quarterbacks supposed to look her sound.
Think there may be an element of that as well.
And you know, it's funny.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
The Lamar situation's perfect for right now what you're talking
about with Shador In that meeting, he does not talk
the way he talks now. So if he sat in
front of you, no matter how good he was and
how you know he was a Heisman winning quarterback, right
you saw the tape that jumps off. Because he can
throw the ball and run the ball. We know that,

(10:24):
But in that interview room, he would not have won
that room. Right now, the humility part of him, he's
always been that, so they would know we can get
him later, yeah, because he is a good guy, but
probably being able to express what he wanted to express
in the way that they wanted to hear it would
probably be the reason that he fail. And then you know,
on top of that, what makes it even more interesting

(10:44):
is that's when the story started, the leak. So you
talk about Bravado, talk about what people are saying about him,
what they say about Lamar when he came out. He
wasn't a pocket passed. You couldn't throw the ball from
the pocket. Far from the truth. I saw him, he
went to Louisville. I saw him a lot, so I
knew we could throw from the pocket. I was like,
where is this coming from? It's the leaks, and those
leaks come from people that want you to stay away

(11:06):
so you can get them a little later. That's really
all it is. I mean, we gotta forget.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
This is a game, right, there are games being played,
games being manipulated, you know what I mean? Hey, we
want I don't want to pick them exactly fifth. If
I can get him eighteenth, if I can get him
twenty fifth. Yeah, I don't really know. He's he didn't
really Wow, was he didn't do this? Is he available?

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (11:25):
We got them, We tricked everybody. It's some games being played,
But I just know. I'm not saying Shador Sanders is
going to be an All Pro, He's gonna be in
the Hall of Fame. I just know every level he's
kept winning, and I equated it to you minus the
personal stuff. Carrie. Let me get this other way, Deshaun Watson,
remember how he kept winning in college and they're like,

(11:48):
I don't know. It's like he just keeps winning, keeps
getting better, keeps producing. They're like, I don't know, He's
not this and that. Then he got the NFL horrible team.
But what do you do turn him around? To the point,
was an MVP candidate that last year and Houston he
was there. Call him superman, right, Shadura kind of reminds
me of that. I'm not saying he'll ultimately be that good,
But what I mean is you keep finding something. But

(12:08):
you're like, man, he kind of won there, Okay, what
then he won there? And then I saw him, you know,
win nine games of Colorado. Guys, the team won one
game two years prior. That's right. And again you got
Travis Hunter, you got players there, and credit Deon Sanders
coach prime for getting them there. But I'm just saying
I kind of one of those dudes that is probably
gonna laugh all away for seven eight year, ten year
career where he's just like y'all kept saying, I can't

(12:30):
you know what I mean. I keep showing y'all that
I can produce, I can do these things. So it'll
be interesting to see him cam wore where they go.
But I do think they're I do think they're making
a little bit out of nothing in my opinion with
some of the maybe the personality trains are eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox. Eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. How important is it the demeanor, the attitude

(12:52):
and kind of the way they posed themselves to the
with these quarterbacks? To you eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox, do you like the extra confidence? Are you
worried about it? Would you like them to be more humble?
Want to hear from you? Carry and I want to
hear eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. We'll take
some calls. Don't forget Adam Kaplan coming up bottom of
the Apple. We'll talk about some more football storylines with him.

(13:12):
It is the odd couple. Fox Sports Radio, Stick and
Stay Stick and Stay America.

Speaker 2 (13:19):

Visit Rocket dot com or call eight hundred four oh

(14:12):
c K E T. Rocket. You know Hey, Hey, Alex,
I was auditioning it for Kerrie's next album. What that's
what I was doing was just.

Speaker 5 (14:26):
Something if you know this, but I'm actually his manager
for hiring for the next one.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Why do you think I'm talking to you? All right?
So here's what we're talking about Shador Sanders kind of
been in the news lately as of just people saying questioning,
maybe some interviewing process, maybe he hasn't been as humble
as some teams as have thought. I'm not a big
fan of that word. I'm not a big fan of
people who are overly criticizing someone, especially a young person

(14:50):
who's very confident, who doesn't come with baggage like a Baker,
not Baker Mayfield, but Joey Manzaiel did where he's brash,
he's but then he's like, no, there's some other things.
But he's got some gambling stuff going on. He's had
some issues at school, and you know, some other things.
Like he came with stuff, and I could see why

(15:10):
you'd be like, ah, he's really good. He's a highsman
trophy one. I don't know. We haven't heard anything about
Sugar like that. Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
and take some calls. Let's go to Andre in Massachusetts. Andre,
what's up man, You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (15:26):
Hey doing thanks taking a call.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Listen.

Speaker 6 (15:28):
What did Mike Tomlin say with the Steelers? And this
is even if there is an issue with their personality
that's hasn't been established with your door standings. But he said,
we'll deal with it until we can replace it. Because
before he's even done anything in the NFL, this notion
that he's going to come in and somehow be a
chemistry killer or disrupt the locker room is without Evans,
It's without background. So's he's a confident kid. You not

(15:51):
the nil in terms of when you're making six you know,
five six million dollars in college, who are you supposed
to come in, you know and not act like your
market value isn't high and I act like you don't
bring something to the table. So all of those things
to me are in are to his favor. He's coming
and saying, this is what I've done in college, this
has been my work at the developmental level. So I'm
coming into the NFL film like I'm going to produce

(16:13):
from day one. And the bottom line is he's projected
as a first round draft check whether he's high first round, middle,
first round, you know, looking at him maybe going to
the Steelers, you know, later on in the first round
and maybe going top ten. You know, he's a first
round talent. So I think that's how he should be
evaluated and in conclusion, it's different than other players that
had issues off the field and that's what affected their

(16:34):
draft side stat is a I e. Jalen Carter out
of Georgia who really dropped, but that has been balling
out for the Eagles. He has none of that, So
I don't think that this shadow should be over his name.
Thanks taking a call.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
You knew it was real when he said in conclusion,
I know shout out to Dre because that man said
in conclusion, conclude. He hit us with a thesis. All right, no, yeah,
and that's sort of things we have. No, he's been around,
he's been in spotlight two long carey for us not
to I've heard something if some wild stuff or it's
bad or teammates a bunch of teams and I can't
stand and don't like him, and we just haven't heard
anything like that. Uh, let's go to Tim and what

(17:06):
is that the at L? What's up? Tim? You're on
they couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Your chili?

Speaker 1 (17:14):
What's up?

Speaker 7 (17:15):
Bro? Oh?

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Did we lose chili? We lost chili? Maybe he'll call back.
All right, call us back chili. Let's go to Andy
and Tennessee. Andy, you are on the a couple of
Fox Sports Radio. All right, one more, if one more drops,
I'm blaming you. I'm just gonna do. I have to
blame somebody, and it's gonna be you. It's this or

(17:42):
are you a real person? Are you really there?

Speaker 3 (17:43):
We go? I told you, hey, it's their problem.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Thank you, thank you. I was literally just talking to
him too. Yeah, I'm making sure my boy tell him
he's from I got my or is my guy? Or hey,
what's up man? What you got for us?

Speaker 6 (17:58):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Man, I just let's to you guys talking about the
quarterbacks and all that stuff. My man cam Ward yep,
uh that. I love his confidence. I love his passion.
When I first saw him, uh that first game against
the Gators and I saw some of those throws he made,
I'm like, I was just upset. This guy should have
been at the you from the jump, and uh. I

(18:21):
love I love how he carries himself and his confidence,
and I think he's gonna do great whatever. Well I
shouldn't say whatever, like I've opened up the land on
like the Browns or the Giants.

Speaker 7 (18:31):
Right?

Speaker 1 (18:32):
You want him to do well in life?

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Right?

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Yeah? Obviously depends on who you have around you. But
I think I think that kid's gonna do great things
in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
Hey, thank you for the call. And Cam is another
one man. Did you see that video carry of Cam
and should her maybe two weeks ago training together, working
out together.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Dad.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Yeah, dude, they talking, but you thought they were gonna scrap.
They were just so passionate and like talking smacks one
and all. I'm beating on. I'm be the first big man.
You ain't. You ain't You're like, there are they great
friends or the enemies? Like, but it's because they know
they're competitive. They're having fun with each other, and I
loved it. I'm like, yeah, they're cut from a different cloth.
And again, if you're looking for maybe a certain style
of certain if more Russell Wilson persona quarterback, they're not that.

(19:18):
As far as g Golli shucks uh ride on Broncos
whatever he said, Broncos. That's yeah, yeah, yeah, no, you
know it's crazy to know, like you talk about the
quarterbacks and the bravado is really fun.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
The bravado, the chains, all these things. Right, the culture
has shifted in general. Yeah, Josh Allen, isn't that That's
very true. Burrows, isn't that Nope, no, you know he
ain't you know what he that? But like those guys
aren't that anymore. So if you're looking for that in
this draft, you're not going to find it.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
And as the position continues to change, and as so
many different types of guys, different different uh backgrounds, different styles,
different personas get to play the position because for a while,
you know they are, you're good in college. But you know,
I mean that's what colle what it was. They wasn't
letting brothers be quarterbacks up until the last fifteen twenty
years at a high level and a larger volume of them.

(20:10):
It was all you know that Cherry picked a few. Yeah,
but you know what, everybody, Oh, he should go be
an athlete, He should go be an athlete. Lamar Jackson
should go be an athlete, Go be a receiver, go
be Like, no, I'm a quarterback, Kevin. If I played
a little bit around this time, I would have been
the quarterback. I played a quarterback until my junior year
in college. So like that's the thing, right, like it?
So hit um with that?

Speaker 4 (20:32):
Ill I need a YouTube video? Oh I got you?
I mean, come on, I don't have to talk about
my accolades. I'm just saying I was a QB, right
and I got told to if I want to play?

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Yeah, so and that's what And that's a real thing. Shay,
you're young, dude. Steve would tell you that was a
real thing. They literally were having got Warren Moon was amazing.
But there's like you gotta go over there, go ahead,
you can't play, and it's they were. That was a
real thing for so long. And to me, that's what
you're starting to see now was whoever is great at
the position, I don't care what, even if you're shorter,

(21:06):
even if you're talking. If you're great, you can work,
come on in. But for a while, it wasn't quite
like that. Let's fine. I was trading right now with
Steve Singer.

Speaker 8 (21:11):
I remember it was news in the eighties when Doug
Williams was in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Yeah exactly, that was like whoa breaking news and he
was a backup until.

Speaker 8 (21:20):
Trader on that team. Yeah, we got NFL news certainly
to pass along. Tonight, the Seahawks are trading quarterback Gino
Smith to the Raiders, where he'll play for coach Pete Carroll.
Seattle gets a third rounder. Smith as one year left
on his deal. For now, What's Seattle gonna do now? Well,
quarterback Sam Darnold is available. March twelfth is the first
day of the league's new year. As for the Titans,

(21:41):
they had the number one overall draft choice. Next month,
they are cutting pass rusher Harold Landry. Washington released defensive
dackle Jonathan Allen. The Chargers are reportedly cutting running back
Gus Edwards. Buffalo gave linebacker Terrell Bernard a four year extension,
Tampa Bay re signed linebacker LaMonte David, and Houston cut
guard Shack. Five spring training games were rained out in

(22:02):
Arizona in Florida.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Today.

Speaker 8 (22:04):
Boston won twenty to five over Miami. Trevor Story two
home runs the win to ex Dodger Walker Buehler. Tampa
Bay tide Minnesota nine to nine. Orioles pitcher Grayson Rodriguez
will miss the start of the baseball season with the
sword triceps. He went thirteen and four last year. Mariners
pitcher George Kirby was shut down due to shoulder inflammation.
He was fourteen and eleven last season. The NHL's trade

(22:27):
deadline was today. Defending champion, Florida acquired Brad Marsha and
Boston's injured captain. Among the six games going right now
on the ice, red Wings lead at Washington mid second period,
two to one to the NBA early third quarter. Cleveland,
which has won twelve in a row, is leading at
Charlotte sixty six fifty four despite twenty three points from

(22:47):
Miles Bridges. The Hornets have lost eight in a row.
The late game tonight will have New York at the
LA Clippers ten thirty pm Eastern Time. NICK star Jalen
Brunson is out at least two weeks with the sprained
ankle he suffered last night. There's college basketball on Fox
TV right now. In men's hoops, this is the final
weekend of the regular season. It is Purdue ranked eighteenth,

(23:08):
leading at Illinois twenty seven to twenty one, about eight
minutes to go in the first half. In women's hoops,
there are conference tournaments going on this weekend. Number one
Texas has advanced to an SEC semi Number two USC
and number four UCLA each advanced out of the quarterfinals
in the Big Ten by Michigan upset Number fifteen Maryland.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Back to you, he is Steve de Saga. Thank you
so much, Steve. We're coming to you love from the
highrech dot Com studios. It's the Ocoble covin Washington, and
we got Kerry Rose in for Rob Parker on this
funky Flashback Friday and Carrie. Right now, we have Adam
Kaplan joining us Fox Sports Radio, NFL insider Kaplin NFL
on Twitter, Akax, Adam Man, Happy Friday. How you doing, guys.

Speaker 7 (23:48):
I'm well, I'm well in the free agency has been
very interesting so far in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
You ain't lying, brother. We thought we were gonna come
right in. All right, we're gonna do Kerrie and we're
gonna talk about different talk about the Lakers. And then
literally as the show starts, we get the news that
Gino Smith is now a Raider. So your reaction to
that third round pick they had to give up to
get him, which to me was I told carry, I
almost kind of felt like a compliment in that we've

(24:13):
seen some people go for fourth or fifth or sixth
round picks and only you know, so a third round
almost kind of says how highly they think of him?
What are your thoughts on the move?

Speaker 7 (24:21):
Yeah, my understanding is number one. First of all, he's
Gino's on the final extension that he signed with Seattle. Seattle,
I'm told they were not gonna they were not gonna
extend his contract. We'll get to them in a second.
But from the Raiders, they like Aid and o'conna, they
like him as a backup quarterback, and they wanted something

(24:44):
that they could go forth with and a guy that
they know well. Obviously for two reasons, as the obvious
with Pete Carroll, but the other one is not obvious.
But I'll give you a pretty interesting note that was
I was given many years ago. Chip Kelly, the new
Raiders offense coordinator. Chip wanted Gina Swiant to be his
quarterback when he was the Eagles head coach in twenty thirteen.

(25:06):
Oh wow, that was actually going to happen until the
pro day at West Virginia where the Eagles brass flew
to West Virginia, and I'm told the meaning did not
go well. Had it going well, Chip Kelly would have
told Howie Roseman, the GM, I want this quarterback to
be my guy. And that's actually what was going to happen.

(25:26):
I was told by multiple people. So yeah, Chip obviously
knows the quarterback. They never technically work together, but now
they're going to be working together and they know this.
And also the way the Raiders are thinking here, they'd
like to have a marriage more than one season. They'd
rather not spend draft capitol on the quarterback because they've

(25:47):
got a lot of other needs. They're not a good
football team. Yes, todaed quarterback help, but they also need
significant help on defense.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
And that's why I was going to go Adam.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
So you bring in a quarterback that can as a
stop gap for a year, and you know, we know
he can at his peak, at his heights, he's he's
a good quarterback, and he has peaks and valleys throughout
the season where he turns the ball over obviously, so
I think the mentorship where Brady will help that.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
But again, this team needs a lot of things.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
And so now with that sixth pick, now that they
got the quarterback and they don't have to reach for
a quarterback for this year, what do you see that
that them going with that six pick?

Speaker 7 (26:24):
Yeah, I would say this, Well, a couple of things.
Chip Kelly is about the run game. Coach is definitely
gonna be about the run game. Not that there's an
offensive lineman, but it's also going to be about their offense,
getting their offense squared away, getting geno help at a wide receiver.
The kids from McMillan of U of A out of

(26:47):
Arizona's the best receiver for this draft. You might go
in the top ten. That that could be a guy defensively,
not that that Dull Carter would drop their You know,
we know that the Carter injury is the stress reaction
that's concerning. But he still could go number one overall.
You know what, Travis Hunter would make a lot of
sense if he makes it. I don't know they'll make

(27:08):
it there. That's the farthest he would go to the
Raiders A. They don't have a number one corner. Not
that he would play a lot of receiver. Most of
the teams I spots believe he's a corner and a
changeup as a wide receiver. They could certainly go there
and edge rush. Yes, Max Crowsley's going to be there
a long time. He got an unbelievable extension. But they

(27:29):
need more. They need more. They don't have enough cash
rush out guys. They don't have enough playmakers. That's what
the Raiders need.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Yeah, you just went through a whole they don't have,
they don't have, they don't have, they don't have before
you go.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
Yeah, he said all that, all that they don't have,
and he didn't say anything about Askton Jenty yet that spot,
what about that one point?

Speaker 7 (27:48):
That's too early for me running back? That's just that's
too early for running back. I just don't I'd be
stunned if that happened. Never say never, and don't forget.
They've got a new general manager, John spy Tech. We're
from the Buccaneers, who Brady knows very well. Yeah. Well,
another thing is speak of Brady. I'm very curious of
what impact we know he's involved. Okay, that's without question.

(28:11):
I'm just curious about how and involves he'll be with
what they do in personnel.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
I mean, you figure that have an here. Mark loves him,
you know Mark Davis, so he will see what that
happens to be. Adam Cavin our guests right now, Fox
Sports Radio NFL Insider, I want to ask you about
the wide receiver market right now. It's kind of weird
because you got guys who DK metcalf gone or at
least you know wants to be. He got Devonte Adams,
You've got Cooper Cup Like all these guys were big

(28:38):
names and really good players. You got t Higgins. They
just won't commit to him, keep franchising him. We like you,
but we don't love you. Yeah, what do you make
of right now? Kind of what the receiver is going through.
We had a conversation when Rob was here, I think
was yesterday, maybe the day before. I was talking about, Oh,
I go a wide receiver bubble where guys maybe don't
want to keep teams don't want to pay thirty three
thirty four million dollars for a receiver. Yep.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (29:00):
And Jefferson's Yeah, Jefferson's deal is the best at thirty
four million Metcalf won't get close to that. He's a
good player. His numbers have been down the last two seasons.
The Seahawks of declined new extennis contract at this point,
that's part of it. And by the way, with now,
we'll see what Seattle does at quarterback, whether it's Sam Darnold.

(29:21):
They have a plan they would have made as traded him.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
They didn't.

Speaker 7 (29:23):
They didn't have a plan, right, But this situation out receiver,
there a lot of mid level receivers. Now Adams in
his early thirties, You'll want to go with Aaron Rodgers.
If Rogers goes to the Giants, Giants Steed receivers, keep
an eye on that. DeAndre Hawkins is in the twilight
of his career. He didn't do much for Kansas City.

(29:44):
Not the same player. Stefan Digg is coming up into
an ACL. It's it's the Hollywood Browns out there. Is
very underrated, but he came up with a bad injury
from last season. He came back late in the season
of the Chiefs. It's an okay receiver group in Cooper
Cup guys. He might make it all the same, but
it's been hurt a lot and the Rams, the Rams
are trying to move him. Nobody wants to take this

(30:05):
contract right now. That the other thing is the contract
for a lot of these guys.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
And that's the crazy part you talked about, the injury
part of all of this with the receivers.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
I mean, Cooper Cup stays injured.

Speaker 4 (30:15):
I mean he's at the point now where he's I
don't think he's a needle move on anything. And that's
just my opinion. And then you great and you talk
about Hollywood Brown too. He's younger, but he stays hurt
all the time.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:25):
I mean, obviously we know the potential of his speed
and being able to open open the field up for
four Tom, but he's just not that guy. So it's
very slim picking to me when it comes to that.

Speaker 7 (30:34):
I agree. And by the way, further draft and we'll
talk more about this, so that fustar and going forward.
It's an excellent tight end draft untold. Seven guys seven
toight ends are what you would call starting quality receiver.
It's pretty weak quarterback. It's pretty weak. And that's why
you know, that's why you saw the Raiders make this move.

(30:57):
They clearly did not believe that because they're not going
to get Cam word I don't believe would make them anyway.
They clearly believe that when you look at the rest
of the quarterback group, it's just not good enough.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
And real quick, before we let you go, we're gonna
have a little bit extended conversation based off what you
say here, Miles Garrett. He wants out, and the Browns
are saying, hey, you're too good, you're too great, you
mean too much to us. We don't want to just
let you go. But reports are saying now that he's like, no, no, no,
I want out. So what do you think happens here?

Speaker 7 (31:27):
Yeah, his agency has made a clear anyone who's asked
that he wants out and will not sign the extension.
Andrew Berry, the general manager, wants to hold out hope
that they'll show them what they're going to do in
free agency and the draft and if they have a
plan to turn this thing around. But he wants to win,
and he wants to win now. It's not gonna happen

(31:47):
in Cleveland no matter what they do. They've got a
major cap problem. I know they've restructured Watson's contract. That's
going to help, but they've got an agent offensive line,
they've got some mission in their secondary. Yes, quarterback is
the number one issue for that football team. I would
say this because I live this. In twenty eighteen, when

(32:09):
the Raiders told me there's no way they're trade they
told me there was no way they were trading Khalil Mack.
John Bruen, who come into your personnel control, got worried
that Mac wouldn't show up, though he never said he
wouldn't show up, and he cave now he got a
good haul though they didn't think the Bears to make
the playoffs that year, and they cave right before the
start of that season. In the end, it's just my

(32:31):
inclination would be to feel that Andrew Barry will wind
up caving because Darrett feels like he could hold hold,
hold out, hold out if he has to into the season. Now,
as you know, Kerry, players always fold. Yes, they talked tough,

(32:53):
They talked tough, but they don't want to let their
teammates down. I know that means a lot of players
talk to them over the years. But the one guy
who didn't that ruined his crin Le'Veon Bell. That absolutely
ruined his career.

Speaker 6 (33:04):
There's no question about it.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
I mean, Hassan Reddick maybe on that same plane.

Speaker 7 (33:07):
Right, Yeah, that was bad. That was bad. You're absolutely right.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
Great point there, all right, Adam Man, we appreciate you,
Adam Kapire Caplin NFL on Twitter, give him a follow
on X we appreciate you, and more. A little bit
more on that Miles Garrett situation. What would you do?
Uh if you the Browns, how do you just get
maybe get the most you can and just say it's
time to move on. We'll have that conversation. It is

fifty that was here? Less shear it was only five eighty.
You go to McDonald's and the burgers or a dollar
ninety nine. I just came from school. I just you know,
I'm trying to get a little extra mind want to
get a new bike. I don't know, sir, it's just

(34:50):
six fifty for the pop take the pickles off, and
then cuts to stray. I want you to pop mine
now because I know what's fresh. Robert love you, Rob,
We love you, buddy. So that means because we're trying
to be on this this weight loss thing carried were me,
Rob g and Rob Parker all just trying to, you know,
tighten up weight loss. Yeah, I appreciate it. I got

(35:12):
wow wow for the shade. Don't laugh at hard. So
Alex was gone for like a week. You know. The
first thing Alex says to me, true story, carry not
dub every you know, for those who know, everybody calls
me k not dumb. I miss you not, hey man, gosh,
I missed working the show, so great, you guys. The
first thing the man says to me is you man,

(35:34):
I mean you do look a little bigger. You're getting
fat on the air, mind you not privately in the corner,
hey man. On the air, the man called me fat.
This wasn't the kumbaya. No, this wasn't kumbaya. To the side.
Let me make you a shake.

Speaker 5 (35:45):
No, ok, you know nobody's listening. Come on, that's right, No, no,
we just don't do numbers wild. I came back. Rob
Parker looked older, and he looked he said.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
It's literally what he said. He goes man, Rob looks
older and like, hey, you look fatter. I'm like, so
one of them was Rob g even Yeah, he rounded
it out. I feel like Rob g Lyon. He talking
about he's lost seven pounds already.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
Care.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
I don't buy it. He was in Hawaii with this
whole family. He ain't lose no weight, talking about yeah,
I lost a seven from that. I don't buy it. So, yeah,
we gotta do a weigh in on Monday. I think
I gained too often, Like how I feel it's gonna
be televised or it will not be televised because then
we have to be in our skivvies and they don't
want that. Oh man, we weigh ourselves. We're gonna be

(36:31):
truthful and we're gonna come in. Rob thinks he's lost
ten and I believe the only thing is like, even
if he loses thirty, I'll be happy for him. But
that'll be the worst time. Steven Sager knows this. I
keep bringing up. It'll be the worst time in my
life having to watch him eat baked chicken six days
out of the week, not like and any thing. There's
the funniest part. He thinks he's eating so healthy. I'm

(36:52):
not seen a single vegetables. And here's the funny part.
He'll say, well, I'm eating salad. No, you're eating iceberg. Yeah,
the ranch.

Speaker 5 (37:00):
It's wild weight. He's losing his like the hair color.
He's literally aging.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
He's not He's got no there's no spinach. All he
eats is like lamb chops, steaks, chicken. I haven't seen
a Brussels sprout, a beat a character, save my lion.
You're not He eats oscar Meyer baloney, cheese. It's wild

(37:26):
American sliced cheese.

Speaker 5 (37:30):
You probably name five vegetables like I'm being honest, but
how many does he eat?

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Less than that he's been doing out here? Listen, I
am not I'm not gonna act like I'm mister, but
you know I try to mix it in. You know,
you see them shakes and got my fruits, come of
veggies and eat a salad. You guys see what I hear?
Shade or no shape. I'll say where we eat today?
He will go to cava, We'll go get a salad.
Man Rob just eats lunch meat and baked chicken, and
you think and port grinds. But the worst part about

(37:57):
it is he's gonna mess around and lose like four
forty five pounds and I'm be sitting here ten over,
ain't gon But that's life for you. I digress. That's
so funny. All right, what do you make? What do
you make it?

Speaker 4 (38:09):
Miles Garrett him saying, look, no matter what I want out, Yeah,
it's just that time. Yeah, I mean it's time for real.
I mean, our team is not going anywhere. I know,
I know that Shay's team, you know, our producer on
the show. I know Shane loves the Browns. But it's
time from the move on. Fortunately, Miles Garrett is such
a demon, and it's such a guy that you want
to have and you want to see have success in

(38:30):
the league.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Put in the work. Yeah, and you always getting mad
when people get mad at a player who spent six, seven, eight,
nine years somewhere, Like you can get mad at the
way Lebron left Cleveland. I'm okay with that if you
or in fact that he you know, teamed up in
my own I get that. I actually do get that. Yeah,
But the idea that he's like y'all been pairing me
up with I gows Kiss, seventy six year old Shack,
fifty two year old Ben Wallace and Booby Gibson and

(38:54):
I gotta stay here because fans don't want me to leave.
And Booby was hooping. That means you know him. That's
your dog. That means you know him, because you gotta
stop it. Booby Gibson himself was I can't believe he
dragged us to the final. No, I literally heard him say,
I can't believe he's racked us to the finals. I
was shocked. Why we in the finals? How do you
do that with us?

Speaker 7 (39:14):
You know?

Speaker 1 (39:14):
And my dude gave you five, six, seven, eight, nine
years and he can't move on, especially when we judge
their legacies on winning. Right, So Lebron says in Cleveland
the first iteration, and he goes another seven, eight years
and he gets one ring because they never paired him
with great teammates. We would go, he wasn't nobody. Kobe
got five. Yeah, Kobe, he didn't even get what shock
Shack got for it. I'm not even gonna mention MJ

(39:36):
because he only got one. You get what I'm saying, yes,
And so we're gonna judge him on that. But then
would say, stay with an organization that does nothing great,
that has proven to do and mind you, as soon
as he leaves, we're gonna square to you. We're gonna
win before he ever wins again. And we're gonna and
he wins like a two years later, and then he
comes back and saves the franchise and wins again. I'm like,
all right, relax, I always blown away by that. With

(39:56):
fans are always mad. I'm like, due, I gave y'all
eight years? What more do you want from AMD? That's
how I feel, all right, Speaking of we gotta talk
Lebron and stephen A. Smith. Shout out to Booby Yeah.
