Man oh Man our number two here on The Odd Couple.
On a Magic City Monday, Rob Parker, Carrie Rhodes in
for kelvin Washington, Aches and Pains can sneak in during the.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Holiday hustle and bustle.
Speaker 1 (00:48):

many holidays on the way leave though. Can help you
forget the pain and make memories instead. With just one

(01:09):
don't forget. Coming up in about twenty eight minutes, TJ.
Houshman's out of the former Pro Bowl wide receiver and
co host of LT point Game on Fox Sports Radio.
He will join us and break down some of the
football from over the weekend and on Sunday and whatnot.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
So we'll do that and much more. Rob G.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Something just happened that you mentioned to me in the
Lakers Hornets game, right, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Rob, Now you know that I love old people doing stuff,
and a big reason for that is that my favorite
decade of all time is the sixties for reasons I
will not disclose.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
On the radio that ro I need to know.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
So we're watching the Lakers and the Hornets here on
the TV before when that football kicks off. And you
know I love the snowtime Lakers, big fan of everything
they do, the real exciting white to the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
There you go.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Yes, But in this game, at about seven fifty five
pm Eastern time, we may have broken a record this
century for the most Caucasian players on the floor at
any one point. In this case, the Lakers only had two,
which was shocking. But at one point in the in
the first quarter of this game, Austin Reeves, who is
(02:24):
a white, Jake Laravia who is a white who was
a white Ryan, Klefrinter, who was a white who was
a wife, Liam McNeely who is a white, and Conker Nipple,
who is a white all shared the floor at the
same time, Rob, when's the last time you watched an
NBA game and half of the players on the floor
were white.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
I'll give you a better one, and I'm trying to
find it, okay. And I remember watching the NBA on CBS.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Oh that was nineteen okay, seventy two for sure.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Like it was like I think I was in high
school or something. It was a long time ago. And
and it's the Celtics are playing the Utah Jazz.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
So you already got the two teams, okay.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
And Tommy Heinsen used to do the color Dick Stockton
was to play by play guy. Tommy Heinsen, the Celtic great,
was the color guy. And he says, hey, it was
the end of a game of a blowout, so they
emptied their benches and there were ten white players on
the court at one time.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
Nobody they didn't want to leave the game. They wanted
to say that.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
And Tommy Heinsen says, press the record on your VCR,
this will be the last time you ever see ten
white players on the court in the NBA game. At
the same time, I swear he knew it. I say
it was like nineteen eighty two or something. I'm trying
to find it on YouTube if somebody has that game.
(03:48):
But I remember vividly and it was a blowout. They
emptied the benches, put all the way. I think he
did it by design because they put all these guys.
But it's Utah and Boston, so those teams loaded with white.
Speaker 5 (04:00):
That would make sense. Yeah, yeah, you bookmark. You should
have bookmarked that event. You should know exactly the time
and the place. I was trying to see if somebody
had that on YouTube, but I can't find it. No,
I can't find it. I don't you know, I don't
think it really happened, Rob unless we see it.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
All right, Rob g there was somebody who people have
just they just want to be right, like like they
want to be right that they think Caleb Williams can't
play Like that's it's just a I don't know, a
march in order, what's the right word.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
A narrative that has just been out there no matter what.
Uh you know.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
John Middlekoff is a former Scout right. I heard him
say that he had he hadn't progressed at all the
last two like at all. This was like a couple
of weeks ago, so I just looked at that and said,
what I hadn't progressed at all?
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Then was that guy's name? Is it Dan Kelly, that
crazy scout ex scout, A friend of the show, Daniel Kelly. Yes,
we need Daniel Kelly back on he said he a bust?
Like he he what he said. He says he's a
He said he's going to be a bust and he's
a bust or something. We had him back on pre
draft grade as bust bus right, and and I'm like,
(05:11):
and then I guess.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
Matt, you didn't think of that rhyme pre draft grade.
I wish you would have thought of that.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
And then he also like right, rob G like was
coming up with stats to say, like the supporters thing.
Even now, even with the winds and six and three
record and the comebacks, he's still chiming with this stuff.
And I'm like, how could you use that term bust
right when you have Ryan Leef, jamarket Russell those are bust?
(05:44):
How can you even put Caleb Williams in that conversation
with those guys? And and Carrie, I just Rob G,
he played well can you just with the bear with
the bears beating the Giant Chester.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
Yeah, you know, Raiser, I'm people who think that Kayla
was not very good. So full disclosure, I'm not a
fan of this, but you're not. You don't think he's
a bus No, I just don't think he's I think
he's in middle of the road quarterback.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Okay, Okay, so that's so.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
But anyways, I had to eat some crow because Rob
was texting us hard in the group chat.
Speaker 6 (06:13):
No.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
I Williams had another comeback win. His fourth of the season,
is fifth since the end of last season, both the
most in the NFL. Seven and three in his last
turn seven and three is looking really really good now.
Was passing numbers twenty of thirty six, two twenty touchdown
not great, but his receivers of credit was six drops,
so you get that into a.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
In the middle of the game. There was one throwing
through in the end zone. Did you see that one?
Rob gez The key is just right off his hands,
like like I'm not it would have been a great catch.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Yeah, but was it catchable for NFL wide receiver. Absolutely?
Speaker 4 (06:45):
But where he really showed out and where he really
made his money was in the fourth quarter, especially with
his legs fifty two yards on the ground in the
fourth quarter, including the game winning touchdown run. After the game,
had his head coach Ben Johnson speaking glowly of his quarterback.
Speaker 7 (07:01):
He looks like a Houdini back there in the backfield, because,
like I said, that's a really good pass rushing front
that they've given a lot of teams fits. I think
Burns is leading the NFL in sacks, and so there
are times where he's trying to escape and making some
things happen. He had a couple throws down the field,
but like you said, over fifty yards again rushing for
(07:22):
the second week in a row, and I thought in
the fourth quarter there we really needed that as a
shot in the arm to end up winning that ball game.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
So credit to him, no doubt about it.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
One of his teammates YO Greatness in the background, which
was cool, you know what I mean. He got the
game ball and he just put his head down and work.
He's not listening to all the noise. And this is
just an anti And I've said it before and I'll
say it again.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
A lot of people don't like him because he's a
different cat. That's all right.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
And you noticed in football they want you to be
the same. They want you to be a robot. They
want you to live and breed football. Nothing else matters.
They don't want you to paint your nails, They don't
want you to cry to your mom. All that it
should be about, can you play like nothing else? I
just don't understand, you know, like you can talk about
(08:09):
the Bears have had a quarterback since Sid Luckman. Okay,
like they've had a quarterback forever in a day. And
I don't know if you want to just sit here
and keep it well. You know, Cam Newton was spouting today,
Oh you shouldn't be down.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Which one is it?
Speaker 1 (08:26):
When Aaron Rodgers doesn't have and the Green Bay didn't
have a lot of comeback victories because he was always ahead.
They used that as he can't come back. Then Tom
Brady had a lot of comeback They use that as
a positive. Oh no, Tom Brady man things push comes
to show. He always bails out the team. Which one
is it? Caleb doesn't throw interceptions and if you force him,
(08:49):
he stayed And I watched he was in the pocket
and when he had to get out of the pocket,
he got out of pocket and made big plays.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
I just I think he's developing nicely.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
I'm not saying he's the next coming of anybody. I
just I just think that he's progressing nicely. What don't
you like from the stuff that you see?
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Rob?
Speaker 5 (09:12):
He's a victim of expectations, right, I mean, people were
saying he's gonna be the best draft prospect that court
at the quarterback position since whoever the last great was right.
That's that's what sister Louisiana proaches, was in ask right, right,
So that's the he's falling victim to that. But also
he's falling victim to the thing that you just said,
and I think you hit it on the head, is
(09:33):
people don't like him.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
They think he's different. He isn't.
Speaker 5 (09:37):
He isn't your quarterback from your grand your grandfather's day
when you know he got the bloody face and he
got the picture of his elbawll scraped up, and he's
gritty and he's the guy that can go win you
a game that way.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
He's not that guy.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
He's a guy that, like you said, he's progressed, I
think at a pace that people thought is a little
bit slow for their taste. And that's fine, But when
your head coach too openly criticize you at the beginning
of the year, has changed his tenor on you and said, no,
he's progressing at a really nice rate right now, and
we like what he's doing. And now the teammates are
(10:11):
speaking openly about him as well. Yes, you know, he's
won over the locker room and he has the goods
to get it.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
You know this carry you.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Got games you're about to lose, and this dude is
coming up with big throws.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
And winning games. Winning. I say it all the time.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Sports has a short menu wins and losses, nothing else.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Carrie.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
At the you don't you don't leave the locker room
during your jet stage or Cardinals days and go, well, good,
good thing, we're only lost by five. No nobody, because
I hear people say that, well they're getting better.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Oh yeah, they only lost by five. No, no, no,
it's only about winning and losing. That's the only thing
you care about. No moral victory is here, Rob, You
just can't do it.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
But again, yeah, it's it's about It's about him being better,
and I think he is getting he's getting that recognition
where it really matters. That's from the people that are
close to him. Every day on the day in and
day out basis. They know he's putting in the work.
Obviously there are things he can get better at, we
know that, but at this right.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
But at this point, only his second year and the
first year with a new.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
Coach, and his numbers, if you look at his numbers,
they're right up there with anybody else you would want
to throw in, Like right now, I was going to
go out on the limb right now and tell you this.
If you guys are listening, he's playing better than bow Knicks,
thank you. If people were giving Bo Nicks all this
credit last year, and yeah, let's talk about how bad
he's been this year, and Caleb Williams have been better
(11:39):
than him right now, right and you look at it.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
You can say whatever you want.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Nobody last year, said Jered Golf, feasted on all those
bad teams in the AFC South last year and put
up all those numbers.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Yea, oh he just nobody tried to discount.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Nobody ever discounted Tom Brady playing against the AFC.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Sorry, this is the last time I'm just saying this,
is it?
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Nobody said, oh, we shouldn't count bradyse wins because he's
playing against the AFC, Lee's and Buffalo and the Jets
in Miami. Those are six wins every year without even trying.
So how can you do this now? To Caleb, it
just doesn't make sense to me. Yeah, moving the gold balls,
stop it already. Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
(12:31):
I'm not ready to drink anybody's bath water. Okay, it's
not that kind of a love thing. I mean, okay,
how much I love you, I ain't drinking your bath.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
Aaron Rodgers had some beautiful balls. Oh my god, not
on Sunday night, because my god, they were terrible. He did.
That's my guy, you know, he looked bad. Aaron Rodgers, Right,
thank you?
Speaker 1 (12:53):
What are you a believer in? Caleb Williams, where are you?
The monkey's saying it? I'm a believer. I'm a believer. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Did you find that? Yeah, I'm a believer.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Look for it if I try, If I try, yes, yes,
Are you a believer or not?
Speaker 3 (13:11):
We'll continue that conversation next with you.
Speaker 1 (13:14):

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
WHOA but doom, doom doom when it comes. Now I'm
a believer.
Speaker 5 (13:53):
Yeah, Hey, that's all in my mind.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
All right, we gotta do a song during the It

Just search Odd Couple FSR on YouTube and make sure
you hit that subscribe button. Don't forget TJ. Houschman Zada
coming up in seven minutes. That and much more. We're
talking about Caleb Williams. Some people just the anti Caleb
stuff is ridiculous. He's played well, he continues to progress
and whatnot, so much so that I think we should
make a hit song for him.
Speaker 9 (15:37):
And then I saw his toss. I'm a believer and
not a trace.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Of doubt in my mind. I'm in love. I'm a believer.
Speaker 10 (15:54):
I couldn't leave him if I try.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
I got I'm a believer.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Are you a believer in us?
Speaker 1 (16:07):
We're asking a seven ninety nine on Fox will Punker's
greatest hits.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
We got to put it out.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
And we're not talking about believers in our music and
our sound. We're talking about Williams. We got will from Wisconsin.
You're with the couple, man, how are you?
Speaker 11 (16:22):
What's going on?
Speaker 12 (16:23):
Rob?
Speaker 3 (16:23):
What's going on?
Speaker 13 (16:24):
KELVI?
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Carry? Carry?
Speaker 13 (16:26):
Carry's into that carry?
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Are you're good? You're good?
Speaker 11 (16:31):
But absolutely it's it's exciting, right to see a team
kind of inhabit a space where they, you know, had
kind of enjoyed in some seasons, and you know, after
the death or the passing there of Miss Virginia, you know,
for a lot of fans or consumers, they are the Bears.
You know, it's kind of you know, what direction is
the team going to take, you know, heading out to
(16:51):
Arlington Heights and all that stuff. But Caleb is actually
answering a question, right, He's he's definitely the Bears quarterback.
And for the first time in years, right that the
Bears aren't led by a defensive presence. They were led
by that offense. And so he's doing his job. Let's
just hope that the Bears is an organization. I mean,
Ryan Poe's I think he's doing good right now. Certainly
(17:12):
his position Bear's GM is a little bit better than
one of the guys that you were we were, you know,
kind of listening to here at the Giants. But definitely
exciting to see and definitely with the Commanders and some
of those other teams not really playing well, somebody's got
to do it. So it's good to see Caleb and
those Bears do that, but let's see how that shapes
up for the rest of the North.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
And thanks no doubt, all right, thank you appreciate a
seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
We got Andre from Massachusetts. You owned with the okable man.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
How are you? What's up, Drake?
Speaker 14 (17:44):
How you doing?
Speaker 6 (17:45):
Thanks for taking the call. Listen. I'm not selling Mike
Caleb Williams stock just yet based on the fact how
he's played this year. What are the Bears six and
three in the hunt and a very competitive NFC North
thirteen touchdowns for interceptions. He's not letting the world on
fire with his stats, but he's leading the Bears some
meaningful victories and getting them back on track to be
(18:06):
in the playoff conversation. Along with that, I do feel
that the talented quarterback class that he was a part
of that plays a factor. He's a competitive guy. We
look what Drake May is doing here in New England,
how people are talking about MVP with his you know,
putting him in that conversation Jayden Daniels and the Commanders
that fall off the pace a little bit. But I
feel Caleb, you know, he wants to reclaim that status
(18:28):
he had when he came into the NFL as he
was a pre eminent quarterback amongst all those three talented guys,
and he's lost a little bit of footing. But I
think now he's trying to get it back. And if
he can get the Bears into the playoffs and then
beyond that show well in the playoffs, that's going to
reset the conversation. I think that's what he's getting at.
I'm keeping my Caleb bully in stocks.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
No doubt appreciate it. Eight seven nine on Fox, all right,
who we got? We got Leo from New York City.
You're on with the odd couple.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
Lea.
Speaker 14 (18:59):
Yeah, Hey, guys, God bless Andrews because I am not
buying any Killer Williams Stack right now. I'm more in
line with rab G. I feel like the guys is
probably going to be a decent quarterback. But Rob, when
you're talking about everybody hates him, I feel like, if anything,
everybody is trying to force into us the idea that
(19:20):
is great.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
I mean, no nobody is saying yeah but rab rab
On TV, Nick Christ loves him, Danny Parkin loves him.
Can County park is from Chicago right in the.
Speaker 14 (19:34):
I'm just telling you, stephen A. Greenberg, I mean, Daniel
asks you if your quarterback? You know you automatically. So
everybody on TV, everything, all the show that I watched,
they all love him. So there's no the idea that
everybody hates on him.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
There's a lot, there's.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
There's a there's a lot of guys out there that
I've heard that aren't into him at all.
Speaker 5 (19:54):
So I hear you, Leo, we got Jola, got Jola?
Is that Joe la Jolo from Dallas? Jack?
Speaker 13 (20:02):
Hey, how's it? Bow Man?
Speaker 3 (20:03):
What's up? How are you?
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Kerry?
Speaker 3 (20:06):
Hey?
Speaker 12 (20:06):
I'm doing good man?
Speaker 3 (20:07):
All is good man?
Speaker 13 (20:08):
Hey?
Speaker 12 (20:09):
Hey, No, forget what they're saying. Kayleb Williams is doing
just well. Hey, he's leading his team back and winning games.
When Bonness does it, they don't about bow Man.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
That's what I said. That's what I said.
Speaker 12 (20:21):
Hey, And then listen to the durability.
Speaker 14 (20:23):
Look at j J.
Speaker 13 (20:24):
McCarthy.
Speaker 12 (20:24):
Get her the dude on the Giants, get it hurt
the dude on the Washington today. Everybody, damn, he's durable.
He's playing a round like he's playing rugby and he
played quarterback. Jompassist Joe Burrow getting hurt he's playing it.
And then this is my last point here. I've been
alive watching football for twenty five, twenty nine years. Hey,
(20:45):
what is the Bears want? And they got a quarterback now?
But they're like the Brown NFC, like they're not doing anything.
They never want anything. So they got a quarterback. They
need to relax. They just don't like that. He's you know,
these jen X kids, they're crazy. But hey, noa, I
know that's says that's what they don't like the social media.
So but he's good and even good quarterback. Hey would
(21:07):
loved that.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
And Jola, here's the best part. He should have a
song for him. That's how good Canop has been. I'm
just saying. And then I saw his toss. I'm a
believer and not a trace of doubt in my mind.
(21:29):
I'm in love. I believe.
Speaker 10 (21:34):
I couldn't believe him if I tried.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
All Right, all right, I know Neil Diamond is probably mad.
Oh he would have been. He would have been upset
about that.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Yes, Neil Diamond did write that song, not the monkeys.
That's right, all right, let's get you caught up with
mister Steve this sea.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 1 (22:05):
Rob Parker Carry Roads here on Fox Sports Radio. And
now let's welcome in TJ. Houschmann Zada, the former Pro
Bowl wide receiver and co host of Up on Game.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
What Up? TJ? How are you man?
Speaker 13 (22:24):
I'm good sellers. How I'm doing?
Speaker 3 (22:26):
We're doing in there? ADJ?
Speaker 1 (22:29):
Well, TJ uh carry and I are so excited, especially me.
I'm a believer with Caleb Williams that I had to
make a song for him.
Speaker 9 (22:38):
So here we go for Caleb Williams. And then I
saw his toss. I'm a believer.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
And not a trace. I'm down in my mind.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
I'm in mom, I'm a believer.
Speaker 10 (22:59):
I couldn't leave him if.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
I tried.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Djedy Crazy DJ. My issue here is people keep moving
the gold post. Oh why does he have to come
from behind? Dude?
Speaker 1 (23:19):
It is about winning games, and he continues to progress.
People were saying just two weeks ago he hadn't progressed
it all from last year.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
I disagree with that.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
I think there's a lot of anti Caleb people out
there who who hope that he fails or doesn't want
to see him succeed. I think he's progressing nicely. Where
are you on his.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Play of late Man?
Speaker 13 (23:41):
You'd be blind if you say he isn't progressing. Number one,
they're a lot better record wise than they were last year.
So that right there is proof within itself. He willed
them to the victory yesterday scramble. It didn't look like
he was even gonna get outside. He gets outside and
goes on the sideline, scores uh when he touched down.
(24:01):
But the people that don't believe he's improved or he's improving,
keep believing that. Does it matter what people think and say,
because ultimately it's going to boil down to one thing. Results.
As long as he can get results in the win column,
keep talking, t J.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
I want to tell no doubt about it. I've always
said it, TJ. Sports has a short menu. It's wins
and losses. You can talk about all the other stuff
you want.
Speaker 13 (24:26):
Yeah, and he's playing better though, Yes, he's for sure
playing better.
Speaker 5 (24:30):
Yeah, for sure plan better, TJ. I want to talk
about a team that needs to play better, and that's
your former team.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
The Bengals. And my god, the.
Speaker 5 (24:36):
Reports out right now that Joe Burrows are back at
practice and he's trying to aim to play that Thanksgiving
Day game against the Ravens. Do you think he should
be rushing back to get back to this mess right now?
Speaker 13 (24:46):
If we can win one of these next couple of games. Yeah,
I mean I was told that he was going to
come back sooner than many expected if our defense wasn't
so asked, I mean, right there, and we need I mean,
at this rate, I'm gonna just keep it a buck, Carrie.
You've been training. You can go out there.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
I know, I thought I thought about it.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
Hey, they're giving those contracts out right now. Of those safeties.
It's crazy you could you could go and let up
four touchdowns and write easily up.
Speaker 13 (25:17):
I mean, you can't do any work. But I feel
like if Flato can win one or both of these
next two games, just just Joe coming back is going
to bring an energy to the team and excitement to
the to the fans, and so you you always for that.
But if we're out of the playoff picture, I don't
see the point. Man. It's really get healthy and make
(25:40):
sure you can go on to the offseason healthy again,
and if it's just unfortunate, man, I just I've never
seen nothing like this. Man, Like, if you look at
the numbers, they're on pace to be the worst defense
in the history of the league. And this is at
some point we got to we got to have pride
(26:00):
in what we do. Man, have pride in what we do.
You you can be bad, but damn the worst.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
Yeah. Well, I mean that that game to the Jets,
that was it. Yeah, that was the one. Oh god, yeah,
that was it.
Speaker 14 (26:12):
No, No, that wasn't it. That was after the Jets' Nah.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
It was the one after the game that was even worse.
I'm just at the just that the Jets haven't been
able to score, right. And speaking of that, rob G,
what is that stat with Justin Fields?
Speaker 13 (26:29):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (26:30):
With Rob G?
Speaker 1 (26:31):
What's that stat with Justin Fields? With the games under
fifty yards?
Speaker 4 (26:35):
Four of his eight starts with the Jets have had
a net under fifty yards.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
I mean, I mean, what what are we Justin Fields
can play? It's everybody else where are you on Justin Fields?
Because I don't I just can't see it. I mean
he's been on three teams.
Speaker 13 (26:51):
Now, I'd be a hypocrite. After what I just said
about Kayla Wirions. This results right, and so at the
end of when it's oh, send them justin field, is
gonna have to throw the ball to win games?
Speaker 1 (27:04):
I just don't like, how are you gonna win with
in one dimension?
Speaker 3 (27:08):
You can't. But they have nobody to throw the ball
to either.
Speaker 13 (27:11):
That's not true. That's not true.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
You know that's I mean, they got they got Mason
Taylor at tight end, that's it.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
Who else? Gary Wilson's out, No, Garrett's out went out.
Garrett's out.
Speaker 13 (27:20):
But they so they traded for uh John, They just
they traded for a Dynamon. I'm gonna just tell you
this right now, from a pure receiver standpoint, if you
put ever receiver in the National Football League on one
field John Mitchie from a run route, quickness, speed, five strip,
(27:40):
he gonna be one of the top twelve on that field.
And that's every receiver in the league just off a
physical attribute.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Yeah yeah, but he just got him this week.
Speaker 13 (27:47):
I'm telling you now, you got a d Mitchell. So
you you got two dudes that can run, two dudes
that are quick. And I noticed because I've been on
the field with both of them. They really run. They
are really quick and explosive. So you got weapons, But
I don't know if Justin Fields can get him the
ball accurately enough enough during the game. Can Can you
(28:10):
do it once or twice? Yeah? But can you do
it consistently? That that's the question. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
How about TJ.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Houschmanzad As our guest here on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio and Brian day Ball getting whacked, No surprise,
I called for it two weeks ago. But the other
part is the mismanagement of Jackson Dart and just having
him teaching him or whatever not to lower your shoulder
and run into defenders and all these design plays like
(28:37):
trying to drag him out of the concussion.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
Tent to get back on the field.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
I mean, it looked like he was trying to save
his job and not thinking long term about the quarterback.
Speaker 13 (28:48):
Jackson Dark's mentality. He just a dog like me, don't
you right? Yeah? Yeah, like that his mentality. He was
like that in college. I've been knowing Jackson Dart since
he was in high school. That's his mentality. He just
he has an Italian That's what makes him the type
of player he is now you we we can disagree
(29:09):
or agree whether Davell should have been fired. I say this,
what good does it do to fire him this year?
What good does it do? You're gonna get worse now.
You were bad winning, You're gonna get worse now.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
But I but but I just at some point, you
gotta be It's not it's the It's what I'm.
Speaker 13 (29:26):
Saying is at the end of the season. Look what
the Jets did with Roberts Salad. Did they get better?
They get worse when they fired him? Yeah, I get it.
But at some point, yeah, but it's.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Yeah, but you just blew your fourth game. It's a
it's a combination of both. And and you got to
remember you have paying customers, you have people there, and
and is it always fair.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
No, it's not.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Always fair, But it usually comes off of something which
was four games where you blew in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
Where you had double digit leads. And if you just.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Say, well, we're just gonna ride it out and we're
not gonna do anything about it, that's not what fans want.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
They want to don't.
Speaker 13 (30:02):
Do anything about it. I'm saying, fire him at the
end of the season. If that's what you feel. One,
he's an offensive guy. Yes, he's in charge of everything.
Defense has to play better. You you have that defensive
line and that defense. They got to bring no games home.
Some what you want? You got to bring no games home.
And then go to yesterday, Jackson dark gets hurt rusther
(30:25):
Wilson can't play man. They should have put Jameis Winston.
Speaker 3 (30:27):
In the game, all right. So then there's another argument
on day ball, right, Uh, I mean Jamons Winston wasn't
even active.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
That couldn't all right, So he couldn't even play yesterday.
Speaker 13 (30:39):
So uh, that's another Winston on Sunday. Jameis Winston is
my starting quarterback. That's what I'm doing.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
I hear you.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Until Jameis Winston gets in and then he throws four interception.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
I mean, TJ We've seen it.
Speaker 13 (30:51):
I mean gon inception and he gonna throw four.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
You're right, am, I right though, I'm just asking you.
I'm asking you like like he does do that.
Speaker 13 (31:02):
Hey, if you're a fan, I'd rather have four touchdowns
and four interceptions. The two touchdowns, I mean no touchdowns
and two interceptions. I'd rather some excitement of letdown, some
excitement of letdown, just a bunch of just letdowns.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
I just looked at it on the Giant schedule, and
I think Jameis Winston is going to start the next
game because it's crab leg night.
Speaker 15 (31:22):
Oh my god, here we go, he j Come on,
man before tea, take it out of here, DJ. Who's
your best team in AFC right now?
Speaker 11 (31:34):
Oh?
Speaker 13 (31:34):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (31:35):
On the spot?
Speaker 3 (31:36):
Pit you on the spot.
Speaker 13 (31:38):
It's the two team race right now between the Patriots
and the coach.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Isn't that crazy? I don't believe you're either one of them.
Speaker 13 (31:44):
Either one of them, you know the way they.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Neither one will be in the AMC Championship. Get her team, Rob,
I'm still taking the Baltimore Ravens to run the table.
Speaker 13 (31:58):
Okay, I gotta be perfect, man, They got to be perfect.
That's hard to be, that's hard.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
They're only one game back.
Speaker 13 (32:03):
Wait wait, wait, wait, mister Rod Parker, mister Rod Parker.
Is this the same Rob Parker from three weeks ago
that told me they should find her ball? But now
they got they gonna run.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
Only because only because I believe in the quarterback and
he's back.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
I believe in the quarterback, not the coach, but the quarterback.
Speaker 14 (32:22):
All right, Okay, how you.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
Call him out? Huh, that's why I ain't t J.
It's all good, but don't forget to pick him up.
Don't forget to download my new single. Okay, you gotta
download the new single.
Speaker 13 (32:35):
Okay, Hey, I'm gonna download it a hundred times just
from my boy. I got you, all right, every device
I got, I'm gonna make my kids and everybody in
my family download.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
They gonna hate you, Teaj TJ. Thank you appreciate that,
y'all take care yo. All right. Uh, it is the couple.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
He is one of the best players in the NFL
and he has absolutely no shot of winning the league MVP.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
I'll explain that next.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
It is the odd couple on a month on a
Magic City Monday, Rob Parker carry Rhodes right here on
Fox Sports.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
Radio, and you know what you need to do? What's
that rock stick? And stay more number one hits like
this in the US VL No, And then I saw
his toss. I'm a believer and not a trace. I'm
down in my mind. I'm in love. I'm a believer.
Speaker 10 (33:35):
I couldn't leave him if I try.
Speaker 2 (33:41):

Speaker 1 (33:53):
It is the odd Couple on Fox Sports Radio. Rob
Parker carry roads in for Calvin Washington. Thanks Tiger on
Fox Sports Radio. Getting a new job can be much
easier with Express Employment Professionals. With Express, that's right, you'll
(34:14):
have a local connection to the job market. Get started
at Expresspros dot com and find a location near you
that's www dot at Expresspros dot com. And now it's
time for the Express pros Pro of the Week. There's
no okay, the pro too week goes to a coach.
(34:35):
Running back Jonathan Taylor ran for two hundred and forty
four yards and scored three touchdowns and the coach win
over the Falcons on Sunday in Germany. That's right, So again,
congratulations to Jonathan Taylor on being the Express pros Pro
of the Week. And I know every year people made
(34:57):
the big case for Saquon Barkley. Last year, Ye remember it?
Oh you go need to break Derek Niggas is right,
he's the MVP. Rob g You remember the vote count.
He got no first place vote you got zero and
he set out the last game, which is only fitting
because that would have been seventeen games anyway, not sixteen games, right,
(35:20):
So okay, but he got zero votes, zero, And Carrie,
I get it. People want other players to be an
MVP in this league. If you don't have a quarterback,
you're not in the game. You have no shot. I
don't care how good your defense is. The Jets don't
have a quarterback. So guess what they just did. Traded
(35:42):
their two best defensive players. Why why they trade them?
But they don't have a quarterback. So having a great
defensive players are having a great running back doesn't mean
you're going to win.
Speaker 3 (35:54):
You need a quarterback. Ultimately, I just I get it.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
Somebody has to do something so so special on any
other position for them to be the MVP. And we
saw it in the old days. Who was the kicker
for Washington won the MVP? Can you believe that he
wasn't even perfect?
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Rob Ge? Who was that kicker?
Speaker 1 (36:14):
And I think he only made Carrie, I'm gonna say
eighty five percent.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
Of his kicks and he was the MVP of the league. Really?
Who Mark Mosley nineteen eighty two, What do you make
What was the percentage I'm wrong? Was an eighty five.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
Or he had ninety five percent? Was he of twenty one?
I mean he pretty perfect?
Speaker 1 (36:33):
Rob What do he only made twenty What do he
only made twenty kicks?
Speaker 3 (36:35):
That ain't even twenty kicks out of how many games
back then? Sixteen six? Is that? So that's like one
a game?
Speaker 13 (36:43):
One?
Speaker 4 (36:44):
He did set the NFL record at the time for
most consecutive field goals made round?
Speaker 3 (36:49):
Is that respect? Is that MVP? No, it's not. Why
not if it wasn't for Adam venit TERI will they
not have a good.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
Quarterback at that time? Like, hey, this guy's our leading
scorer in so let's give him MVP.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
The voters then were for gays. They didn't know what
they were doing.
Speaker 5 (37:04):
Oh so what you're trying to say that nobody that's
nobody that's a non quarterback is going to win it again?
Speaker 3 (37:09):
Is that what you're trying to say. I think it's
gonna be real hard, I really do.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
I'm not saying this impossible, but you got to do
something extra special.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
I just I believe Jonathan Taylor's the MVP right now.
Do you think he's going to win it. There you go,
I like, I get it and carry.
Speaker 4 (37:24):
One thing he has working I like jonatany to. But
one thing he has working against him is at his
current rate.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
And he's been awesome.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
Yeah, he's still not on even pace for two thousand yards.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
And that's what I'm trying to say. I want to say.
Speaker 5 (37:34):
So we talk about sa Quon and everybody expected him
to be in the race. He joined a super Bowl
like a super Bowl team. Sure already that nucleus what
was done with the Colts, but.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
His but his numbers at that point, you know what
Quon were? Remember and he had the signature games on
national television. Remember that had top over somebody exactly Like
there were moments where you looked at him when Wowquon unbelievable. Yeah,
I mean Jonathan Taylor this past I mean this Sunday
just took that eighty three yarders to the crib to
(38:05):
tie that game, to break the game.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
Only problems.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
Who gets the fun I know, I know, no odd
couple stick and stay America
