Coming up in about twenty eight minutes, we'll be down
with the King Sean King, a former NFL quarterback and
Fox Sports Radio NFL analyst.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
He drops why we'll do that and much more.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
All right, Ian, let's talk about Jayden Daniels, who had
an unbelievable rookie year with the Commanders that capped with
that playoff win in Detroit a shaker, right.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
We know that.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
The Lions helped it out with the turnovers or whatnot.
O Dearreck Goff again Jared Tennis right with the four turnovers.
But but to get my point, he still had to
cash you men, Yeah, you know what I mean. Like
it wasn't like they were picked sixes and he didn't
do anything. He still played well in that playoff game.
But your number two, when we knew that there was
gonna be some going pains there, but now he's dealing

(02:19):
with injuries and is not playing, was.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
A real pain. Yeah, playing for game three.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
Yeah, So, like you guys mentioned there, Jayden Daniels twenty
four years old. He's officially been ruled out for week three.
Dan Quinn, the head coach of the Commanders, let us
know that earlier this week, Marcus Mariota is going to
be getting to start in his place.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
You know, we mess him good.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
I used to have one of those phones. All right, Oh,
I'm sorry, all right, that's a motor roll off. Just
this respective that was good. In two days in a row,
you've been on you've been on fire.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
But look, if you guys remember a concern about Daniels
when he was coming into the league and when he
was a rookie last year was his slighter frame. He's
only two hundred and ten pounds a six foot three.
How that would hold up against He does right, and
television puts wade on you him. So there were concerns
about how he would handle the physicality of NFL. And
now you guys remember he already missed time last year

(03:10):
and now he's been ruled out for a week three here.
So the question is, are you guys concerned for his
long term durability?

Speaker 2 (03:16):
No? A couple of reasons. Why.

Speaker 6 (03:19):
What are the advantages of growing up short, growing up slender,
growing up big? Is you know your limitations, right? You
know what you can and can't do. You can talk
them about you when you were four foot tall in
high school? No, get it right, four foot eleven, four
foot eleven, four for eleven high school. Can believe that
what I Mary? You having way too hard? Mary, Mary.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
You know there were chair men, there were chicks who
were like trying to pick them up.

Speaker 6 (03:42):
I would talk to the juniors and the seniors and
what's that. You know, what's up a little boy coming?
We get older. When you get a little older, you
can call me on my Mariota phone.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
That's why that's why his nickname was Webster back then.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
I'm just saying we had somebody else in the nineties
who we had someone who else who was short the
ninety Martin maybe Martin Lawrence, Martin Payne on the show.
But what I'm saying is, you know who you are,
you know what you can and can't do, you know
what works for you. And I think Jayden Daniels has
been Jayden Daniels his whole life. He's been little, he's
been thin, and he's played some top notch big football
from obviously pee wee leagues to high school, in the

(04:17):
college and now on the pros. Now also what's beneficial
for him is the rules in which were playing.

Speaker 7 (04:23):
Now, you can't hit him high, you can't hit them low.

Speaker 6 (04:25):
You can't gang tack, you can't put your weight on you,
you can't slam quarterbacks down, you can't put hands in
the face, you can't do anything to quarterbacks. So if
we were having this conversation, and you know, I kept
bringing up because I watched the America's team, that Cowboys documentary,
if he was playing with the Steve Young, Troy Aikman
air and the Brett Faarr that that that late eighties,
early nineties, mid nineties.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Phil Sims, all those guys, they all got ba I
want you to know, like when they changed the rule
and I was covering football NFL back then the end
the grasp, when they used to just grab the quarterbacks
and they were giving us no they would give him
a sack because so many guys were getting hurt and
they don't want to start quarterbacks, you know. So so

(05:08):
if you grabbed his jersey and they used to do
yeah play, it would be a sack in the grasp
is what it was called.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
And now, because you don't want to lose.

Speaker 7 (05:17):
These guy hundred percent. So my point is.

Speaker 6 (05:19):
That's why I'm saying if we were having discussion fifteen
twenty years ago, out of Oh, I don't know if he's.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Gonna make it.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
We've seen a bunch of other quarterbacks, I mean Matt
Stafford matter sif has lost a lot of weight now
over the last handful of years. I don't know if
he went vegan or something, but he's slendered as a
handful of slender guys.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Not everybody is.

Speaker 6 (05:35):
I mean Lamar Jackson was too slender remember the beginning
of his career. Everybody said, So, Jayden has more than
have enough time to put on a few extra pounds
ten pounds of muscle, So I'm not overly concerned, and
he knows.

Speaker 7 (05:46):
Also.

Speaker 6 (05:46):
Lastly, when he runs, he's good at kind of getting
out the way, sliding through, getting out of bounce.

Speaker 7 (05:51):
He's gotten better at that.

Speaker 6 (05:52):
So I don't have any real concerns, and I expect
him to kind of get back and keep playing ball.

Speaker 7 (05:56):
He's playing all right.

Speaker 6 (05:57):
The team hadn't won anything yet, but he's playing pretty
does far for a season in two games.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
I understand I'm probably in your camp, but if I'm Washington,
I am monitoring and making sure that they have to
protect this guy because he isn't that big, and you know,
you got something special going on right after the first
year especially, and we knew, me and you both were
on the page that it wasn't gonna be as easy

(06:25):
as it looks because remember reason why, like completing what
seventy percent of his passes. I mean it was incredible
really uh yeah, I mean what a start to an
NFL career and then a big playoff win on the
road in a situation where you're almost ten point underdogs.
But but yeah, I'm with you. I think that the

(06:45):
league will adjust. We see, we're seeing all of these
guys hurt. Now, it for me, it takes a little
something off the game. I'm absolutely watching backups. Just doesn't.
It just doesn't. I'm into the NFL, I get it,
But I don't want to see Marcus Maryholder.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
I don't. I'm being honest. You don't want to see
Tyrod Taylor. I don't want to see Tyrod Taylor. I don't.
I would like to see and I get it.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Injuries are part of the game, and I'm not being
ridiculous saying, you know, no one's ever gonna get hurt
but when you start to see so many guys get
banged up. But it's slight frame and he maybe doesn't
have his man body all the way, you know what
I mean. Like he'll put on some weight. They're not
gonna be he don't put on a buff. They're gonna
because he's twenty three, right, he's he's young. Stephan, You're

(07:33):
gonna gain some weight at some point too, you know
what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
I mean, I hope not too much, but yeah, I'm
gonna put some weight on.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
It's so Californian.

Speaker 7 (07:41):
And can you get a knife for my donut? I
mean it kept my donut.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Originally from New York. So it's not like I'm you've
been here.

Speaker 7 (07:50):
You've been here long enough. You've been here long enough.
Sure it happens quick.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
I already know when I go to New York or
go to Detroit and I'm cold.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Whatnot, They're like, oh, dude, you've been out there. You've
been out there too long.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
Man, it's sixty two degrees right, Yeah, we all you too, Mary,
we all got California nines real quick.

Speaker 7 (08:12):
We're not stopping Mary. She's telling my thumbs down. What
I tell you.

Speaker 6 (08:15):
The moment when I saw grown men, big beards, and yeah, man,
I brought in a box of donuts. Man, you know,
have at it. I came back two hours later, No,
I brought out the donuts. Got there right here, have
ed it? Yeah man, I just you know right now,
I just ooh yeah, No, I got something I cut.

Speaker 7 (08:30):
I got my fourth.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
I could have four plenty left in there.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
If you were in the Midwest, those donuts would have
been inhaled.

Speaker 7 (08:38):
Fight for those donuts. I'm serious.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
He knows.

Speaker 7 (08:41):
It's a it's a real lifestyle change when you move here.

Speaker 6 (08:43):
With that be said, but another thing you brought up
something going back to the commanders. One of the reasons
why I think they are going to be very smart,
very proactive and making the best decisions is because something
your favorite gout RG three and they had something special

(09:04):
there after his rookie year, and everybody's well, yeah city,
you know, the whole DC are DNV area is excited.

Speaker 7 (09:11):
They got something going on.

Speaker 6 (09:12):
Then he tries to come back and they force him
out there and he's playing and I protected him, and
he shreds his knee and was never the same. I
do think that stays in the back of your head
if you're that organization, and I think you say, oh
oh oh, we look like we got a guy again.
We're going to be very cautious with this.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
No, I'm good.

Speaker 6 (09:30):
I just want to come in, hey, hey, hey, We're
gonna take our time and make sure you're ready, you're
fully healthy, and you're right because it's a dangerous game already.
You can get hurt at any point already, and we're
not gonna go through this game where we lose our
franchise player like we did with RG three. So I
do think that's in the back of the commander's head
heads as they make these decisions moving forward with him.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Well, I don't I don't disagree. I think you have
to protect him. You have to be.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Err on the side of caution right to make sure
that you don't put them out there.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Of course they want to want him to play, right,
they don't. They don't.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
They don't want to go to Marcus Mariota. I mean,
you don't want to play your backup unless you're solid
backup to have, you know, I know what I'm just saying,
but but this ain't just thought you had a year ago.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
No, you know what, And.

Speaker 6 (10:21):
I would I kind of want to, you know, just
case we take a longer dive on this, maybe Monday
after the games.

Speaker 7 (10:26):
But I'll just say this. You mentioned the backups.

Speaker 6 (10:29):
I do believe there are reasons why we're seeing some
of these injuries, and I think a part of that
is teams following the Sean McVay and the rams of
we ain't playing nobody this this preseason. No you know
what you you remember it used to be you play
it's quarter then may already gona play the first and
then the third game. We play like two quarters three.

(10:52):
Now they're not playing anybody. And and Ephram was on
as a former offensive lineman talking about I need my
rhythm with the quarterback. I need to be in SI.
I need to feel live action. I got Michael Parsons
chasing me down, I mean coming at us. I gotta
you know, we gotta have that. And I think some
of these offensive line play has not been great, and
I think that's been a part of why some quarterbacks
haven't had the productivity because they're they're scrambling for their

(11:12):
lives more than more than usual, and also they're not
being protected at the best because I think these teams
are not fully where they are without having a lot
you think.

Speaker 7 (11:20):
So you think it's that, Yeah, I think.

Speaker 6 (11:22):
That's why I said I was gonna kind of save
if we get a little deeper into it after the
weekend games. But I absolutely believe that's why we're seeing
quarterbacks are running like crazy for their lives. These guys
are everybody's getting CJ Stroud and JJ and the Bears,
Caleb Williams and a handful of the other guy bo Nicks.
Guys are running for their life. And I think a

(11:42):
lot of that is because teams aren't in sync. Yeat
offensive linemen are in sync.

Speaker 7 (11:45):
They don't have to have it.

Speaker 6 (11:46):
Yeah, we practiced, but I've had live action with the
guys coming to kill my quarterback I'm trying to protect.
And I think that's why quarterbacks have been a little off,
little scrambling, get hit more than normal.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Yeah, it's definitely a tough spot to be in eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. I mean, there's two folds
to this, just Jaye Daniels to Slim Build. Are you
concerned long term or do you think that Washington will
figure it out and make sure that they protect him
and quarterbacks getting hurt.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
I just asked this question.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
It's football you watch, but do you watch the same
when when a star quarterback is missing like this, there's
something there like, yeah, I'm gonna watch.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Don't get me wrong, Josh, it's just a little different.

Speaker 7 (12:29):
No, it don't hit the same with Johson like who Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
It's just I don't know, all right.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine hours Fox Breck Carson wentz
like that eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three
sixty nine. It is The Odd Couple on a funky

bit business FLUCU eight fluctuations.

Speaker 7 (14:00):
Hey, running your son?

Speaker 2 (14:01):
I'm sorry?

Speaker 7 (14:04):
Uh Mary, hear me with a rewind button. Let's try
that again.

Speaker 6 (14:10):
Business fluctuations make running your manufacturing business complex, but staffing
your business doesn't have to be. No, let Express employment
professionals provide the workforce. You need to go to expresspros
dot com to find the location near you. That's expresspros
dot com. Talk about Jadan Daniels injured came into the league.
Some folks were worried about his durability could he handle

(14:31):
it in the league, especially how thin he is and
slight frame. I'm not worried just because the way the
game is right now protecting quarterbacks. Plus, I mentioned he
knows his body, he knows who he's been his whole life.
He's always been slim and has been relatively injury free
for the most part. Couple ankles here and there in college.

Speaker 7 (14:49):
So are you concerned at all?

Speaker 6 (14:50):
And also all these backup quarterbacks is said, lessen your viewership,
watching the game, your enjoyment this week, and we're gonna
have five backups eight seven, seven ninety nine one Fox.

Speaker 7 (14:59):
That's some calls? Rob who we got?

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Yeah, let's go to Mark in Sacramento. A guy, what's up? Mark?
How are you?

Speaker 8 (15:05):
What's going on?

Speaker 5 (15:06):
Robber's having a mister Washington?

Speaker 8 (15:08):
How you doing today?

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Doing good?

Speaker 8 (15:09):
Mark?

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Appreciate the cause Always.

Speaker 5 (15:11):
I'm laughing because all week long, I've been hearing.

Speaker 8 (15:14):
Nick White, nick Wright cry.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
To the NFL about stopping this and then jumping side.
I said to myself, saynick, ty, gonna let you guys
play with twelve twelve men.

Speaker 8 (15:25):
If that you jump off side and they still couldn't
stop it, shut up right, stop it. I got the guy,
stop the play.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
If you don't want me to do it, stop it,
stop it. What's all you gotta do?

Speaker 5 (15:37):
What I tell you what when when the Bears had
Refrigerator Perry was throwing a twenty files they put on
the backfield, the defensive players say, that's not fair.

Speaker 8 (15:46):
We can't stop Refrigerator Perry.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
No, you got to stop it.

Speaker 8 (15:51):
I don't I don't get this. I don't get it.
I don't get this. This. We gotta go to the
league and get them to get rid of it.

Speaker 6 (15:57):
Mark the decisions, anybody want to run it, Refrigerator.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
Perry exactly, any other things they have replay that let
them challenge the side challenge.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Well, that's what he said. The referees got it wrong.

Speaker 7 (16:11):
That's all like, never get it wrong last game.

Speaker 6 (16:13):
That's why it maybe not bad TV made it really
look bad on national TV because everybody's wait.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
But that's on the official that's not on Philly.

Speaker 7 (16:20):
Yeah, and any thoughts on Jayson Daniels, Mark real quick.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
Yeah, I think you're right. I think what they're doing
is they're spending all this money on their skills, especially
the wide receivers. I'll give the team. This isn't Eddy
Minglas this game, Jamar Chase and t Higgins all that money.

Speaker 8 (16:39):
He didn't get the money.

Speaker 5 (16:40):
And where is Joe Burgh.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
That's true.

Speaker 7 (16:42):
That's true, and we talked about that.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
You know, partake me these quarterback and get him off
into arlignment.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Hey, Mark, appreciate you.

Speaker 8 (16:50):
Man.

Speaker 7 (16:50):
You're on it with that one. Who we got.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Chili chim in Atlanta?

Speaker 3 (16:55):
What's up, Chili whatever?

Speaker 8 (16:59):
Kevin?

Speaker 9 (17:00):
Guys, Rob, I can't believe you didn't mention this part
thinks about we're gambling on everything from fantasy to the game.
Could you imagine when they put that Minnesota Washington game. Men,
you had mcclury and Addison, you had uh Daniels, you
had McCarthy. Who can you put money on this weekend
other than the running backs? Because the receivers are not

(17:21):
going to catch the ball? No gambling?

Speaker 6 (17:24):
Well, hold on, hold on, Chili, hold on, hold on,
let me cool you out a little bit.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Chili.

Speaker 6 (17:28):
The receivers, uh Minnesota receivers might actually get I don't know.
JJ wasn't doing nothing. They can't get any worse about Carson.

Speaker 9 (17:36):
She's been through a couple of different places.

Speaker 6 (17:40):
Once Carson wentz goy. But dang it, they can't get
any worse JJ, McCarthy and go Blue. I'm root for
HM and everything, but dang it seven out of them
eight quarters.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Have been awful.

Speaker 9 (17:50):
But it kills gambling, I think, no doubt.

Speaker 6 (17:52):
Yeah, that's a good point on the money end. I mean,
that's go ahead, and that's what we were talking about. Listen,
appreciate the call.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
You thanks.

Speaker 6 (17:59):
Chili League is incentivized to protect their quarterbacks because the
quarterbacks go, we get our entertainment.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
How many weeks?

Speaker 6 (18:05):
And everybody, by the way, everybody hates when you and
I talk about this, what how great Lamar Jackson is?

Speaker 2 (18:10):
They hate it.

Speaker 7 (18:11):
That's fine. I'm like, are y'all watching it? I wouldn't
even know.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
But you know what, But this is the thing that's
crazy is they claim that I hate greatness, that I
only rip on people who are great. But I love
Lamar and I love Aaron Rodgers and these guys who
are some of the best quarterbacks we've ever seen, or
Aaron Joe. But they say, oh, Tom Brady and Lebron
j you hate greatness? Why Steph Curry? You hate greatness?

(18:34):
But that But then they have a problem when I'm
talking about these other guys.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Which one is it? Because you don't have it right.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
If I hate all greatness, then I would be ripping
on Lamar, I'd be ripping on Aaron Rodgers. I'd be
ripping on Aaron Judge on the show. Hey, maybe you no,
I don't rip.

Speaker 7 (18:52):
That man, no matter of fact. You're about to make
me do a hard pivot.

Speaker 6 (18:56):
That man had fifty home runs, fifty stolen base's the
home runs and sixty rbs.

Speaker 7 (19:03):
Fifty strikeouts.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
What more do you want from him?

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Rob, Yeah, he got sixty RBIs on fifty home russ.

Speaker 7 (19:08):
Now I gotta go look at me down. I know
they wasn't the greatest.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
He had one hundred and thirty last yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
All right, without looking and I have to say it again.
What you think it's about one hundred? He's probably thirty off.
I say one hundred.

Speaker 6 (19:18):
Let me see where we are right now. I'm guessing, well,
you keep eating on him. You think he's an hit
a home run for Curse today? That's that would be show.
That would be so show, Hey of show. Hey I'm
a guy. Oh yeah, I got side tracked, all right, show?
Hey this season he has I said one hundred, where
are we at ninety five?

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Look at he's thirty five off with nine games to go.
That's a big numbers. That's nothing for him.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Nothing.

Speaker 7 (19:43):
What to get thirty five, four or five? Get a
VOKA final game, He'll be right there on it.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
If he got thirty five RBIs and nine games, he's something.

Speaker 6 (19:52):
Help all right, man, We got Sean King getting ready
to join out with the kid.

Speaker 7 (19:56):
We are down with the King. Former NFL quarterback.

Speaker 6 (19:58):
Fox Sports Radio NFL analyst talks some of the games
happening this weekend. This should be fun with him right now.
Steve Seger is gonna get you set on what's trending.
See if you hear him hating on him show, Hey,
you hear it.

Speaker 10 (20:08):
In other words, it's what another day of the show?

Speaker 2 (20:11):
A man, he's thirty five RBIs off for last year,
that's all.

Speaker 7 (20:17):
It will tell some of those other guys to get
on baby.

Speaker 6 (20:19):
They're telling the pitch to him sometimes, Megan, you can't
do one thirty five every year.

Speaker 10 (20:24):
I feel like if Giselle heard this us.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
He can't throw the ball and catch the ball exactly.
He can't get on base.

Speaker 10 (20:30):
And you know, did you see the bottom of the
order for most of this year for the Doctor Lana Yikes.
Commander's quarterback Jaydon Daniels is out with a spring knee.
Marcus Mariota will start for Washington against the Raiders. The
forty nine Ers whore due to start quarterback Mac Jones
again with Brock Perty injured. Perty was limited in practice
this week with toe and shoulder injuries. Arizona will play

(20:51):
at San Francisco. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow had his toe surgery.
He could miss three months. Reported lead quarterback Jake Browning
will start now. Minnesota quarterback JJ McCarthy is officially out
with the bad ankle. Bengals are at Minnesota this weekend,
and Vikings running back Aaron Jones, with his bad hamstring,
is on injury reserve. Jets quarterback Justin Fields is officially

(21:12):
out with a concussion. Broncos tight end Evan Ingram is
out with a bad back. He mispractice all week. Linebacker
Dre greenlaws how Denver plays at the Chargers Sunday. Seattle
running back Zach Sharpeney is doubtful with a foot injury.
Packers tight end Tucker Craft questionable with a knee injury.
Colts tight end Tyler Warren questionable with a tow injury.
The Falcons released kicker Young way Ku and gave kicker

(21:35):
Parker Romo a two year deal. Atlanta's at Carolina on Sunday.
There's college football on Fox TV right now. Iowa Rutgers
tied at seven in the first quarter. Early second quarter,
it's Tulsa leading ten to three at Oklahoma State. To
Major League Baseball is we're down the wire here? Regular
season ends a week from Sunday. A couple of veteran

(21:56):
pitchers were counted on by their teams. Tonight. Detroit had
Charley Morton on the mound. He lasted an inning and
a third was down six nothing to the Braves. It's
now Atlanta six to one at Detroit. Matt Schurzer was
the starter for Toronto in the game at Kansas City,
and it's seven to one Royals at the end of
two Sures are allowed seven in the first. White Sox

(22:20):
lead the Padres two to one in the top of
the fourth inning. Padres are three games over the first
play at three games behind the first place Dodgers in
the NL West. Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw hosts the Giants
in the late game at ten PM Eastern Time. Cleveland
Guardians out to a two to nothing lead. Bottom of
the first at Minnesota, Mariners out to a one nothing
lead at Houston. Top of the second, Mariners in Houston

(22:40):
are tied for first in the Al West. Brewers scoreless.
Bottom of the first at Saint Louis. Red Sox tied
two to two at Tampa Bay. Bottom of the third,
Orioles over the Yankees. Still one nothing. Top of the six,
just one hit for New York. Mets and Nationals tied
four to four in the bottom of the fourth. Cubs
tied four to four at Cincinnati to be the six.

Speaker 6 (23:00):
Back to you, Steve, you said, uh, Max Shirsy, he
might want to call up uh maybe that time mightbe
little Clayton Kershaw.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
And I think did he get a Grand Slam.

Speaker 10 (23:12):
It's funny that you bring up Sures because there was
a Justin Verlander comment here like, hey, you know, I've
actually been pitching okay the last.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Month or two.

Speaker 10 (23:20):
Maybe I'm not gonna okay, but you were like one
in ten before this.

Speaker 7 (23:24):
I want to maybe they all put a hand on else.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Remember this.

Speaker 7 (23:27):
We all had a great run. Retire on three once
retire Soto three run, homer to type three run home area,
three run.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Okay, all right, thank you Steve appreciating for the lead.

Speaker 6 (23:37):
Sorry, yep, A couple Robin Kelvin on a fucky flashback Friday,
you got ak knees. You gotta stiff back your joints
on cooperating with Some days your body ain't having it,
and on those days you're luckily there's a lead.

Speaker 7 (23:49):
With just one pill.

Speaker 6 (23:49):
A lead provides up to twelve hours of pay relief
so you can keep it moving. Use as directed. Join
now by our man Sean King, because we are down
with the King for my NFL quarterback, Fox Sports Radio,
NFL analysts. You can follow him at Real Sean King Show.

Speaker 7 (24:04):
What's up Bro?

Speaker 8 (24:05):
All good in the hood? Man? Listen, all they need
is shirts are and those guys. But one special night
come playoffs. That's all they need.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
Yeah, I listen.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
The else is something now sewing I know real quick
and we'll get to the NFL.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
H The Tigers look like they're gonna choke this down.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
I'm shocked at they're losing eight to one tonight.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
They got eight games left.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
They've now lowt they lose tonight, that's gonna be eleven
out of sixteen in September and they have a chance
to fall all the way out of the playoffs, not
even a wild card. They can actually not be in
the playoffs at all, which is crazy.

Speaker 8 (24:41):
That'll be surprising. I never thought they had a chance
to win it all because their rotasing gets really skinny
after school. But I didn't think they would collapse like
this and be on the verge of potentially not making
the play.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
That's crazy.

Speaker 7 (24:52):
Nobody did. They didn't either.

Speaker 5 (24:54):
Man.

Speaker 6 (24:54):
Goodness gracious, but you know what, that's one thing we
love about baseball because you have no idea who's gonna
win it.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
On busie this year?

Speaker 8 (25:00):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (25:00):
You can name anybody as a shot at it. Let's
get to some football, man. We were talking about Rams
Eagles a little bit earlier. We had a guest in
our guy, Timothy Parker. Appreciate him showing up. We're looking
at two teams too. And oh and I believe two
teams who feel obviously won. Is the ranting Champion another
one in the Rams. You feel like we can get
back to winning the Super Bowl like they did a
handful of years ago. What do you like about the

(25:20):
Rams that some people are really really high on them?
What do you look at that team and say no,
that's that's realistic for them to make a run at it.

Speaker 8 (25:27):
I like everything about him, and I'm gonna say this,
and this is not an exaggeration. Right now, the best
quarterback on the planet is Matthew staff.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Is an exaggeration.

Speaker 6 (25:35):
Okay, he is not better than playing man playing his numbers,
Lamar's numbers.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
We just went over it.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
He now has the best passer rating in the history
of the National Football League.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
For you to say that Sean is outrageous to me.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
In his last twenty games, he has fifty seven touchdowns
and four picks, three.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Of them off of wide receiver's hands.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Matthew Stafford, can you go look at the last year
in the middle of the year when they were averaging
thirteen points a game for six straight games. Come on, Sean,
don't be a prisoner of the moment. He's not the
best quarterback in the league.

Speaker 8 (26:13):
Matthew Stafford has been in the league since I think and.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
His first game. I've been watching him his whole career.

Speaker 8 (26:21):
So I can say something about Matthew Stafford and it
not be a knock on Lamar Jackson. If you want
to tell me, Lamar Jackson is the most talented quarterback. Absolutely,
But I don't know how many of the Rams first
how much of the rams first two games you watch?
Stafford's playing at god level right now.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
I just gave you Lamar has passed Aaron Rodgers for
the best passer rating. Not this season, not last season,
the history of the NFL. Really, come on, Sean, really,
I want you to rethink this. Matthew Stafford is better
than Lamar?

Speaker 2 (26:55):
I want this on tape. Is that what you're telling
me right now? Okay?

Speaker 8 (27:00):
If I had to pick one quarterback for one game.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Please, that's not what you just said. That's not what
you just said. You said he was the best quarterback.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
In the league. That's not what that's.

Speaker 8 (27:10):
No, that's different.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
From one game you said he was the best.

Speaker 8 (27:15):
I said, plan it right now.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
He's not the best. That's awful. Us a terrible take.

Speaker 8 (27:22):
I would buy stock on the Rams to make it
to the super Bowl. I think the Stafford's gonna showcase
the level he's playing at this Sunday versus the Eagles.

Speaker 6 (27:31):
He's been He's been playing very very well. Part of
that is Devanta Adams. How big of that was that
for their Cooper Cup? Really good career with the Rams,
but obviously the last couple of years was slowing down.

Speaker 7 (27:40):
How big of a pickup was that for them? Getting DeVante?

Speaker 8 (27:43):
I think it's extremely important. And you look at Lamar's
elevation as a passers because they've continued to get better
around him. I mean, this is the most talented group
of pass catchers he's ever had. Same thing with the Rams.
You put guys around Stafford and he makes them even better.
Like a tool you can put any receiver in the
history of NFL in Miami. Tool is limited, and what

(28:04):
he can do like Stafford is taking advantage of having
not just Pooka now not just Karen Williams, but also
Devonte Adams. I'm telling this Rams team is dangerous.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
He ain't the best quarterback in the league. I'm sorry,
I can't even get over that. All right, let me
ask you, no, no, no, just let's move on. We'll
be here all that, We'll be all done.

Speaker 8 (28:24):
I want to explain. I want to explain to your
fan base where this trauma and HRT comes from. Trauma.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
I watched the guy. I watched his whole career. I
watched his whole career.

Speaker 8 (28:37):
Lions lead reporter.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
So he's so, I was a columnist.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
I covered every game for twenty years. Okay, Homing Road.
I watched every game. I'm not some guy who just
who just watched highlights. I watched the games.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
I'm not hurt.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
I'm just I watched every game in person at every
stadium around the country. Okay, I watched the guy. Don't
tell me that I watched this very first pass in
the NFL. I watched his entire career. Let's go to
the Kansas City Chiefs and where they are. Obviously they
play the Giants in Jersey. Any chance they lose that

(29:12):
and start zero and three?

Speaker 8 (29:15):
I don't think so. I think the Chiefs make a
statement here, and people that are giving up on the Chiefs,
I wouldn't because in a couple of weeks they're gonna
be fully healthy. When they get rid she Rice Bay
some suspension, and Xavie Worthy is fully healthy from that
shoulder injury, they're gonna be a different offense. I think
you're seeing the versatility in Patrick Mahomes. He's using his

(29:36):
legs to try and create, you know, more explosive plays.
I'm not buying Russ last week. I just think Dallas
is awful in the secondary. I think the Chiefs win
is easily and with margin.

Speaker 7 (29:48):
I'm still on the same thing.

Speaker 6 (29:49):
When we and Rob talked about this, he thinks the
Chiefs are gonna make the postseason.

Speaker 7 (29:52):
I say the exact same thing.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
They're stayed in both of their games against two really
good teams and the Eagles in the charge.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
No, they used to win those games they won last
year where they were ten or eleven and zero in
one score games.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Everything went their way. It was a struggle.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
Patrick Mahomes went fifteen and one as a starter and
got zero first places votes for MVP.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
That's how poorly he played.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
When you look at quarterback play, How can that happen
in the quarterback league? Sean, Really, you lead to the
fifteen and one and didn't get one first place vote.

Speaker 8 (30:26):
But that was that was last year and for contexts,
Josh Allen and Lamar were incredible. God my story last year.
But I'm talking strictly the two losses thus far, Patrick
has played much better. He's not been the reason the
Chiefs loss. And I'm just saying he.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
Threw a pick. Didn't he throw a pick at the
end of the game.

Speaker 8 (30:44):
Yeah, I don't know that there's a quarterback walk in
the face of the planet that has not thrown an
interception at some point. Stop being a prisoner of the moment.
I'm talking macro, big picture. When it's all said and done,
the Chiefs will be in the playoffs. Are gonna be
dangerous if they're healthy.

Speaker 7 (30:57):
I'm still the same thing with you, Rob and I.
We've been going back and forth.

Speaker 6 (31:00):
With that about the Lions, the Lions big game of
Monday Night Football have the.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Lions not making the playoffs taking a huge step backwards
this year, so we.

Speaker 8 (31:09):
Really don't know yet. They didn't look good in Week one,
but Green Bay looks like they're really good specific get
on defense, and they had a great Week two, but
they played the Bears. The Bears may be all time
bad when this is all said and done. I think
this is a good benchmark for Detroit. I think they're
playing Baltimore right, Yes, yes, even if they lose, it's
just about how the game looks. Do they look like

(31:30):
they belong on that same level as a Baltimore Ravens team.
So I haven't given up. Oh, I'm not buying the
Lions yet. I'm still taking await and see approach.

Speaker 6 (31:40):
Yeah, this will be a good one. And you mentioned too,
like it's how we talked about that week one. I said, Man,
they didn't show up against the Packers. They got to
be because it was one thing if they couldn't stop
from scoring, but they could score, they couldn't score and
they couldn't stop them. So that was bad right there.
And let's go to a couple of couple of quarterbacks.
I'm looking at you. Aside from Matthew Staverns playing well,

(32:00):
Justin Herbert might say to you, what about me? I'm
playing well, I'm playing some of the best football I played.
Where would you what's going on with him? Where do
you rank him?

Speaker 2 (32:07):
Right now? Stafford's better than him too, apparently.

Speaker 8 (32:10):
Well Stafford is better than Justin Herbert. But Justin Herbert
is starting to change the narrative. And what's interesting is
Quinton Johnson is starting to look like him. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
And that's made all the difference for this offense because,
like I said, you get some organizations that really surround
their quarterback with a lot of talent. The Charges really
hadn't done that. Last year was pretty much lat McCaughey

(32:32):
and nothing you know, for most of the season, Quinton
Johnson looked like he has his confidence. If this is sustainable,
then they're dangerous. I think Amalia and Hampton is still
at some point gonna find his groove, the rookie running back,
and they're putting a lot more in Herbert's hand. If
you think about hertball, he's always been kind of this
running the ball playfield. Shouldn't get the game that there

(32:52):
are past first team right now, Herbert looks really good.

Speaker 6 (32:55):
Keenan Allen was a big pick up for them to
get him back as well.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
That was a good pickup. Just fit. You know, they're
having that safety blanket for them.

Speaker 8 (33:04):
Absolutely, and now they look like an NFL offense when
they show up to the stadium. But he's a big
question It's a big question mark here. Quenton Johnson has
more bad film than good film. He hasn't continued to
play at the level he's playing.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
At anybody else.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
You want to take a look at this weekend, uh,
just to see where they are.

Speaker 8 (33:23):
I want to see is the fit that we've seen
with Daniel Jones and Shane Stinking is it sustainable? Because
I truly believe that Jayden Hurts and Daniel Jones are
perfect fits for this offense. Remember Styking was the OC
and Philly when the Eagles lost the Cantcy. They are
perfect fit for this offense. If this is sustainable, Man,

(33:47):
Daniel Jones is having a kind of year that man
Stycken may be in the Coach of the Year conversation,
and way early for that.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
Man, I've seen so much, Daniel.

Speaker 8 (33:56):
Jones said, if. I said if, But if you look
at the Coats offense, Jonathan Taylor, Michael Pittman Junior, I
love Tyler Warren, the rookie Alex Pearson, serviceable downs like
they got some pieces there, especially for what Stykeing wants
to do. So I'm in wrestled in the coach and
it's just an aberration that we're watching us. It's gonna

(34:16):
be sustainable, all right, man.

Speaker 6 (34:18):
We'll we'll be watching the games as well, Shawn, as always.
We appreciate you, man, Hey, last.

Speaker 8 (34:22):
Thing before our go Brewers will winning the World Series.

Speaker 7 (34:25):
They are been great. They be beating up on the dot.

Speaker 6 (34:28):
Take that's two all right, So I appreciate it. On
the radio, no doubt. We got to talk about what
teams have to win week three. What teams have to
get the job done, We'll tell you those next to
the yac Cup of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (34:57):
Thea Rob Parker covin Washington on a funky Flashback Friday,
Egg and E stiff back joints not cooperating some days.
Your body is like noping on those days. Luckily there's
a league with just one pill. Lee provides up to
twelve hours of pain releaf so you can keep it moving.
Use as directed. And uh, before we get to this,
we're gonna get you here, little NFL action. You mentioned something, Rob,

(35:21):
you said, Man, the teams that are supposed to be good,
they've been struggling in baseball lately. It's just like weird,
it really really. You got all of the met's been struggling.
You got the Tigers, the Yankees and Dodgers, and yeah,
it's it.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
Is pretty amazing.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Uh as we get to the playoffs or getting close,
like there's only nine games left, which is just amazing.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
You know, Baseball is a six months yep, every day.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
Yeah, and the thing that we're down to just nine
games and you know everything's not settled.

Speaker 7 (35:54):
Noat that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (35:56):
That's what ends up being great because last season, man,
the postseason going to be amazing.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
It was great last year.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
Yeah, this year it could be even better because it's
so flawed.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
All the teams are so flawed.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
I don't think anybody really knows who's going to be
in a World Series.

Speaker 6 (36:10):
I don't nobody that I wonder what I'd be interested
to see what Vegas says. You know, at some point
once the playoffs kind of start, all right, so real
quick before we break again with some NFL teams that
are owing to some are wanting something, and they say, yeah,
we gotta break down who needs to win?

Speaker 2 (36:25):
Righty?

Speaker 4 (36:27):
Right, So I guess let's start with the Chiefs. I
feel like that's a good end point here. Kansas City Chiefs,
like you guys mentioned earlier in the show, they're going
to be facing the New York Giants. Uh in New Jersey.
So Giants are the home team there.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
The New York Football Giants. Sure, New York Football Giants,
you know what they called football giants, New York Football Giants.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
Do you know, well, because there's the uh, the San
Francisco Giants used.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
To well, they used to be there. Yeah, the baseball
team was there first. So when they wrote in the
paper they had to say, you couldn't say New York Giants.
People weren't sure what team you're talking about.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
So, yes, the New York Football Giants. But so the
Chiefs are one of the teams here. How badly do
they need a win this week?

Speaker 7 (37:06):
Yeah, they gotta win this one. You can't go oh
and three?

Speaker 6 (37:09):
Uh and and also you can't lose to the Giants,
who are I don't think they're we don't know exactly
what they are. I mean, they look like at an
offensive Jugger Nott last week and then they look bad
week one. But you gotta win this one. You're still
fighting for playoff position. I believe they still ultimately make it.
Rob does not. But in order to can you imagine
they gotta win this one. If they lose to the.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
Giants here in Jersey, just say another close one and
they don't win. Would that change? Would that change? Just
like maybe? Do you know what I mean? What would
you own three?

Speaker 5 (37:38):
Now?

Speaker 6 (37:38):
I got a bit about a seventy five eighty percent
chance of making a post. But you get what I'm saying,
that's gonna drop down to about forty for me, thirty five.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Even what about you if they lose to the Giants.

Speaker 4 (37:51):
Like I mean, I don't I don't know how to
put an actual percentage on it. But yeah, I mean,
if the Chiefs go to oh and three, it gets
pretty hard, just because the rest of the division is
so different.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
Like, the Chargers look so good, you know, I might
keep saying that.

Speaker 6 (38:04):
You know, everybody keep saying this division and the same
thing to me with the NFC Nord they're on that division.
I'm like, only thing I know is the Packers look
very good and the Lions look like they should be good.
And that's it, you know what I mean. All that
that division I don't know yet. We'll figure that's still
in the ANC West is still open to me. We'll
see who's next next. Up the Denver Broncos, so they're

(38:26):
not owing to yet. They're one and one, but they
are facing the h the aforementioned Los Angeles Chargers here,
who are too and zero.

Speaker 4 (38:32):
So how badly do the Broncos need to win this week.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
They need to win that game, otherwise the Chargers are
going to jump out front, you know what I mean, Like,
I think that's a huge game, I really do. And
also to get a quality win. Where is that game not,
I don't know.

Speaker 7 (38:47):
This is their home open they're in Brazil, but you
get it.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
You get it.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
Though, if if they Denver is able to come to
Los Angeles win a game against the team everybody's going
gaga over over and beat them, it would be a
big shot in the arm huge.

Speaker 6 (39:03):
Completely agree, and I think too because everybody was high
on the Broncos. Some people've had the Broncos maybe winning
this division. Some people, you know, they were really big
on them. And you can't start off one and two
knowing you got to see the Chargers again, knowing you
got to see the Chiefs twice, you know what. And
obviously the Raiders aren't they aren't as bad as they
have been the last handful of years. So you got

(39:23):
to just in your division alone, you're gonna have to compete.
So I don't think you can go down and be
one and two and feel comfortable.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
So early.

Speaker 4 (39:32):
Yeah, Next up the Chicago Bears. They are the home team,
this week against the Dallas Cowboys. Cowboys are also sort
of in desperation mode at one one and one there,
But the Bears are the zero to two team in
this matchup.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
How badly do they need to win?

Speaker 5 (39:45):
Now?

Speaker 2 (39:45):
They need to win?

Speaker 1 (39:46):
You don't You don't want to just be buried and
then you know the whole season. If you win and
beat the Cowboys, you know that's a win. And the
Cowboys aren't that great and they're on the road playing
in Chicago, right, you want to be able to fight back,
and I think that a bounce back game after getting
