A little yes, as always, it is the Odd Couple,
Rob Parker, Calvin Washington here on Fox Sports Radio. Energy,
aches and pains can sneak in during the holiday hustling bustle,

November's coming up right at the end of the week.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Wow, And then they only got sixty days for the
end of the year, Thanksgiving and Christmas and all that.
My goodness, gracious, yes, a little bit, but a leave
can help you forget.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
The pain and make happy memories instead.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
With just one pill, sometimes two, oh that's.

Just the one. That's all you need. Coming up in
about twenty seven minutes, TJ. Houschman Zada, the former Pro

(01:56):
Bowl wide receiver and co host of Up on Game.
We could rip him about the Bengals losing to the Jets,
but then again, God wasn't on the Bengals side, so
it's only the Jets. You better not disrespect God.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Wednesday, we're gonna have some issues, all right, when you
turn the stone.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
When that lightning strike? How many pills did I take?

Speaker 5 (02:19):
One?

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Or two? All right?

Speaker 4 (02:23):
Did you ever see the movie I Think I Love
My Wife when Chris Rock took too much and he
had to explained when she came to the bathroom his wife,
and he was just like.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
What's going on? I took a fell.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
I thought he was gonna and they had to call
the hospital there like all right, let's whoa.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
That's gonna you some explaining to dude. It's intense around Okay, so,
oh my god, Rob G did save please. There is
a football player who's not a quarterback, who's running rough
shot of the lead over the league, and there's a

(02:57):
lot of talk now about what.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
He might be the MVP.

Speaker 6 (03:06):
That's right, they're saying the season that this young man
is putting together makes Sa Kwan's twenty twenty four season
look like junior varsity. Jonathan Taylor in the Indianapolis Colts.
I know Danny Downs is all the headlines, but is
having a phenomenal first half of this.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
You just said the only thing that mattered what you
just said told you all.

Speaker 6 (03:27):
You know what, Let me finish the setup after you
get to your point.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Just Jonathan Taylor, he couldn't even help it.

Speaker 6 (03:35):
Ran for another one hundred and fifty three yards on Sunday.
They had another three touchdowns in their blowout win over
the Titans. Entering Monday night, Jonathan Taylor currently leads the
NFL in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, scrimmage yards, scrimmage touchdowns,
rush yards over ten yards, rushes over twenty yards, fourth

(03:56):
quarter rushing yards, rush yards after contact, and miss tackles forced.
Which is a long way of saying that he is
getting a ton of MVP love, both inside the coach's
locker room and outside amongst NFL fans. And something tells me,
Rob that you think that this whole thing is a

(04:17):
waste of time.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
I got news for everybody listening. Is this on.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Voting for Jonathan Taylor for MVP is like back in
the day voting for Ross Parole.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Don't waste your vote.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
You know what, you might as well go up to
the top of the Pinopscot building in Detroit and throw
it off.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
It's the same thing.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
And Rob g just he couldn't even help it because
he had to give you the news and tell it
to you the right way.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
What he say, guess who's getting all aheadline it's all about.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Danny Dimes in the year, Oh my god, because it's
always about the quarterback it is.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
That's where we are.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
If Saquon Barkley couldn't get a sniff last year, good
luck Jonathan Taylor, because it ain't gonna Saquon almost broke
the record right, didn't play the last game, had a chance,
and he's still despite how well he played, there was
no rally cry for him. The last time of running back.

(05:28):
You know won an MVP. Moby Dick was a guppy.
It's been forever, right, a long time. That ship has sailed.
Maybe they need to just change the name of the
award and make it for the best quarterback on the
best team or whatever you want to call it.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Yep, because it is not going to go.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
The quarterback position is so important to the to the
A foot all team. That is, without a quarterback, you
have no I don't care what your running back is doing.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Without a quarterback, guess what you're going nowhere.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
The only thing I pushed back on that is I
do think some of the quarterbacks are having success throughout
history because of the running back. So you you look
at you know, some of the guys, you would say, well,
this person had a really good year. Well Danny Danny Dimes.
Is he Danny Dimes? If Jonathan Taylor isn't the threat
that he is, gimme.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
The running back that the Packers had when Aaron Rodgers won.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
Four Aaron Rodgers is, if you've heard me, one of
the most town But I'm just I'm not knocking it
like I'm just same the top of the top of
the guys. I'm talking about middling guys who wanted to
be meeting. If Danny Dimes was to win this.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Year, oh he ain't winning. But you know, like that
you had running backs.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
Kurt Warner was insane, but he also had Marshall Fat,
which is why Marshall Fat won one and he won one.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Kurk Kurt is great.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
What I'm saying the ability you came into that game
is the defense, Like, shoot, I don't Marshall Falk, do
we stop hurt? It was like what the heck do
I do? And having an Edrian James helps the Peyton Manning.
So I'm just saying the idea that just having the
quarterback as if Jonathan Taylor is if alta.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
But my point is if you're a team and you
don't have a quarterback, guess what you're not doing, Like seriously,
you could have a great running back. I know what
you're saying, like them playing off the quarterback the running
back because you have to be worried about him, so
that opens it up. That's what happened to Danny Dimes
in New York right with the Giants and Saquon that
there's no doubt about it. I'm just saying, but he

(07:33):
didn't want an MVP either. I'm just saying, if you
don't have a quarterback in this league, you're going nowhere, home, dinner,
maybe a show.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Here's the way, Jonathan, here's the roadmap to him winning
it one. We got into a huge debate me and
you last year, and I still stand by it, and I
totally get your thought process. I just would have gone
for it. Sakwon Barkley. I want to have the rushing
title because I said, why can't he have that? They
want a championship? The meaning why can't I have that
rushing title and my super Bowl?

Speaker 1 (08:00):
He would have had both. No, But but here was
the issue. It ain't just about him playing. In order
for Saku to play, all your linemen and everybody else,
let's go okay, and.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
Let's make some magical Okay you say that now, Dickerson
sitting at home, like, but.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
If somebody broke a leg or got injured on that
on your for your offensive line, that was the best
in the league.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Want of people breaking legs? Okay, I'm sad Scatterboo running
around here right now. Thank you all. That was horrible
to watch that. That was gruesome, But I would have
won it both but I would have wanted in the NFL,
though people get hurt, and I would have wanted the
title rushing title, and because I think that's the only
way the m v P happens. For running that has
to be something exceptional. You can't get what they wanted.

(08:46):
They won a super Bowl, and that was I would
have had two things.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
That's just me.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Would have one. How about they would have they?

Speaker 1 (08:54):
How about?

Speaker 2 (08:55):
How abouts?

Speaker 4 (08:59):
Now Black I was saying, the only way this happens
is he has to do something breaking the record. It's
kind of like what you talked about how you failed
the big dumper, cayl Right, like only.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Your second break judges record for the most American and
then there's no offenum.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
That to me is how the that's the road map
for a running back to win. If Jonathan Taylor rob
g correct me if I'm right, he's thirty one with
LT right, the leading touchdowns in the season with LTI
membery he was going crazy, did a little little tea
cup thing he would do?

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Uh in the end zone. If Jonathan Taylor breaks that.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
And by the way, he has an extra game that
LT didn't have LT at sixteen he has seventeen, so
if he would have breaked that, then I think now
we get a chance where they might actually strongly look
in a running back. And the only other thing I
think that might walk work in his favor is people
saying what you're saying and what other people I've said
that you said it where they hear it's only a quarterbacks,
so mine as well not even voted where people like

(09:55):
to be contray. All right, Well, you know what, maybe
Jonathan Taylor has been this exceptions. Year he broke Ls's record,
He's the last year was the example that they could
have done that and broke the moment the vocal like
I want to win it. The Eagles were like, no,
it matters to us, and they go and win it.
Do you think he would have gotten it had he
won it? Like they say, they went for the record.

(10:15):
He breaks the record by twenty eight yards. Now he's
the greatest rusher of all time. Do you think they've
given the MVP.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
I think he would add a way better shot at
and that's what I mean. But I'm saying, but, but,
but I don't believe. I just don't. I just think
that if he couldn't get even without the record, he's
still the yard he put up, the impact he had
with the like all that was his first year. They
were like, seemed unbeatable. The whole game plans for the

(10:43):
Super Bowl was what stop Sakwuan. It was always about him.
So my point is, even with that and Rob g
I don't remember what the vote total was, but it
wasn't close. Here's here's the right.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
It wasn't close.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Why are you looking at up Roger?

Speaker 4 (10:57):
The other good thing in Johnson Taylor's favor, Lamar Jackson's
not playing because Lamar Jackson does things and you and
I sit here, we can argue about this, but we
both agree he's insane and he does stuff at numbers
that are so ridiculous that it looks normal. And Lamar
Jackson will be like, all right, at the end of
the season, forty two touchdowns, seven interceptions, he rushed for another,

(11:18):
you know, five touchdowns he had blah blah blah, and
you'll look at it and just like, all right, that's
your MVP.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Josh Allen looks good. He doesn't look crazy.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
That's also in Jonathan Taylor's favor because nobody's looking Josh
Allen and Lamar Jackson looked reridiculous. Last year they were
doing things you've never seen before. There's nobody jumping off aside.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
For him, right.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
Baker's kind of going down a little bit. Matthew Stafford's there,
but you're like maybe a Jared Goff, but we know
he never puts up the gaudy number enough. Patrick Mahomes
is right there, but you wonder has he done it?
You know, are people like, oh, he's had enough? So
Jonathan Taylor is favorite. There's no Lamar Jackson type craziness
going on. So that's the one thing I will say.
But can he be the first non quarterbacks since twenty
twelve with Adrian Peterson? I think he's got shot. If

(12:00):
he gets to thirty touchdowns or more, I think that'll
be the key because that's gonna be the number if
he if he either breaks the rush the city does
he playing Indianapolis.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
So the problem is some votes are gonna go to
Caitlyn Clark, so he won't have enough votes. They just
all he think about it all they care about can
you give vote Reggie Midler voting?

Speaker 6 (12:20):
Now, last year they did the tier system to vote
for five guys, right, Josh Allen Lamar Jacks the only
ones who got first place votes.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Think about that? Crazy, not even in Philadelphia what they want?
Like the writer like, like, seriously, that's kind of crazy.
Not even one first place.

Speaker 6 (12:37):
And just to give you some context, the gap between
Lamar who was second and sa Quan who was third,
was more than double the gap between sa Quan who
was third and Baker Mayfield who was tenth. They were
so one only voting for those two guys and everybody else,

(13:00):
and that's what he wasn't even close?

Speaker 4 (13:01):
Am I wrong either of you? That there's no that
this year? There's no Lamar and Josh thols Are from
Jump Boom. Those dudes were insane, crazy what they were
all like witnessing it, you know, defining the moment we
had been waiting for with Josh Allen Lamar are doing
even better than he did of the year he wanted.
So I think there's no that this year. Now he

(13:22):
had his best year ever. That's what I'm saying. There's
none of that. Nobody has those types of numbers, and
I think that's boding well for him.

Speaker 6 (13:29):
I think the only guy who well, I think a
quarterback is gonna win it either way. But the best
combination of the Josh Allen Lamar Jackson thing is the
guy we're gonna see He in about five minutes. Has
Patrick Mahomes now that he has his guys back. The
last month or so has been on that trajectory where
he's putting up the MVP numbers.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Who told you that was about to happen? Who told
you that Kelvin was right? Yeah? A block that block
that dumb hr you Elijah, I need the video?

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Also told you that just just too long? It got
too much.

Speaker 6 (14:08):
Well, here's a question, be not time, but here's the questionough. Yeah,
if it goes the way this season is going, and
Jonathan Taylor finishes with about twenty one hundred total yards
and twenty eight touchdowns, right, but Daniel Jones stays at
the pace he's on and he throws for thirty five touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
No, Daniel Jones is not gonna win them. No, I'm
saying yes. Is that gonna work against yes? Because there'll
be a split vote. And that's what happened sometimes.

Speaker 6 (14:37):
And even though we all agree that Jonathan Taylor is
the engine that makes them go, I think they're gonna say.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
He saw that in New York with Saquan and Daniel Jones. Right,
his best year was when Saquan was running. Only thing
I'll say, Robbie and I mentioned it earlier where it
could go in his favor is we do have precedents.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
Marshall fought winning in two thousand. Kurt Warner's putt up
stupid numbers two. But Marshall fark was just that, just
going crazy with the receiving and the running. So if
Jonathan Taylor can have that kind of a year because
Daniel Jones ain't hurt, maybe that'll help him. Is that
the presidents are like, no, he's just been too outstanding
that it has to be him.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven,
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Does Jonathan Taylor
have a legitimate chance to win the NFL MVP Award?

Speaker 1 (17:01):

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox I can call Look,
we wanted to know. Is there finally a point where
somebody can win an MVP in the NFL?

Speaker 1 (17:09):
Side from a quarterback?

Speaker 4 (17:10):
Can Jonathan Taylor, who's on a historic run right now,
actually win an MVP? Was it a waste more time?
I like what you say, robbers like voting for Ross
Baro back in what was it ninety two? Yep, just
a waste of a vote, the waste of a vote?
Or is there actual chance? I say it can happen
if he has to hit a magical number, whether he
breaks the Russian title or most touchdowns ever thirty one
by LT some years ago, eight seven, seven ninety nine

(17:31):
on Fox.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Who we got? Is that Trucker Nab? Trucker Nab in Arkansas?
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up?

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Truck or Nab?

Speaker 8 (17:42):
All right? Hey, check it out. If the media every
year for the last ten years or Cowboy Nation always
has Dak Prescott in the running for MVP, why not
have Jona Beth Taylor. Without him, the Colts would not
even be item. You guys talk about Dak Prescott every year.
We know he's the biggest fraud. What about John or Dana?

(18:04):
How Come he doesn't get in love?

Speaker 4 (18:06):
But it's not the love Truck and naf it's Kenny
winning because I think Sa Kwan got all the.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Love, but then he got none of the no votes
when it push came to shove and what a big
escape by Max Schurz here he got out of it.
A leadoff double by Old Tawani and he wound up
striking out Mookie and then Will struck out Will to
get out of the ning. Thanks though, truck of nav
appreciate you can't waste a double from show. Wait now,

(18:33):
a leadoff double at all, and that's a big that's
a big time you think you would get one at
least Harold in Chicago, you're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
What's up, Harrold?

Speaker 9 (18:46):
What's up?

Speaker 5 (18:47):
Guy?

Speaker 9 (18:47):
Long time listener, fourth time.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Called, we appreciate your Harold one two that's we need
some Harold's fried chicken that last year ABJ yes that.

Speaker 9 (19:01):
Anytime you guys come down here. I got you, I
know the best, Harald, Yes, yes.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
It's the sauce man. They mixed in barbecue and it's
really really good.

Speaker 9 (19:10):
Harold, Hey, hey, don't be given away.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
I'm bad, bad. What am you doing? That's right? All right?

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Harold?

Speaker 1 (19:16):
What you got?

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (19:18):
You know what?

Speaker 9 (19:19):
Jonathan Taylor can win it, but they make it so
hard for running backs and with keVs all you have
to do is cough and they'll force you in the
m v P race. You see the way they're trying
to force it on my homes.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
But who have they beaten.

Speaker 9 (19:31):
They've lost like every good they've only beaten bad teams.
But they want to They want someone to take it
from Jonathan Taylor, Dak Prescott can't right now, Homes, Harold, let.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Me ask you this.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
I agree with you.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
I'm asking both yo.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
I don't remember caring like when LT wanted in two
thousand with everything Shawn Alexander I wrote it down. There's
been four other non quarterbacks, but they were all running backs.
It was Marshall fault uh Sewn, Alexander LT and Adrian Peterson.
My point is none of us can't like you. Just
he deserved it. Why do you think Harold like, it
has to be a QB. None of us care, right,

(20:05):
Like if it wasn't a big deal, if Shaun Alexander
got it, and fine if LT got it, we didn't.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
It's a different league now. The league turned over from
that to a quarterback league. That's the difference. If you
go back to Adrian Peterson, like, dude, like, you gotta
admit that it's all about the quarterback. Now, before you
remember Barry Sanders and quarterbacks were the stars of the team.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
That is just not the case anymore. And that's the difference.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
Why when you go back to those other teams, why
they were able to win it even was the guy
we looked at before from Washington who won it as
a kicker won the MVP.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
A kicker, Yeah, won the MVP. People, you look at
it like that.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
You know, he never kicked a fifty yarder, which is crazy,
which is not as so standard, not at kicking sixty
five sixty six yarders regularly. All right, appreciate it. TJ
whoss out on the way. We'll talk someut NFL headlines
with him right now. Steve de Seger, he has with's trinning.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Steve, be sure to catch live editions of The Odd
Couple with Rob Parker and in Washington weekdays at seven
pm Eastern, four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and
the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
Steve. Thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
I Couple, Rob Parker kelvin Washington, Magic City Monday, and
we are joined now by our guy friend of the show, TJ.
Housman's not a former Pro Bowl wide receiver, uh, a
co host of Up on Game on Fox Sports. Ready,
by the way, I'm going to see Gez this Saturday
in Vegas.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
TJ. Hey, Hey, yeah, don't worry about There'll be plenty
of seats. I'm just saying, he has a two weekend residency. Okay,
don't do that. They couldn't give him too much. Who
was the last time you've been to Vegas? You could
drive a mack truck down the streets. Don't hear anybody.
I'm just saying, what's going on with Vegas. It's crazy,

(21:45):
It's absolutely Listen.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
America ain't got money like America thinks American tell us.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
America don got money like Rob Parker goin.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
I need money. I need money. Hey, TJ, let's start here.
We just were talking about it with the quarterbacks and
Jonathan Taylor, you know that making a push for MVP.
We saw last year Sa Kwan considering the year that
he have and what had and what he did for.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
The Eagles, got zero first place vote.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Zero. Do you I don't see a running back Jonathan
Taylor sounds great, I just don't think.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
Uh, this is a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
League and I just don't think a running back would
have to do something so extraordinary in order to win
an MVP.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
The MVP has now become who is the quarterback on one
of the top teams award? The next best player offensively
will get the Offensive Player of Year award, And so
that's what it is now. We know what it is,
and so right now I guess it would be a
three player race right now early in the season. Daniel Jones,

(22:51):
Jordan Love and if Mahomes puts in a type of
performance that we know he can do tonight, he's gonna
sneak in there. Baker was leading the clubhouse, but you
know what, all the injuries now with its receivers on offense,
kind of tough couple of weeks. But for me, those
are the top three. Would be Daniel Jones, Jordan Love

(23:12):
and possibly Mahomes the way he's been playing as of late.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
Yeah, I was saying, Rob, I think if if Taylor
were to do something crazy like thirty two touchdowns b LT,
I think he can have a chance there. But you're right,
I think it's kind of whack that MVP automatically has
to go uh to a quarterback. I just I think
it's it's not fair to anybody else who's working hard
out there receiver. It could be a it could have
been a g Adrian Hutchinson us to say, a couple

(23:36):
of years ago before the injuries.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
So uh, let's go to some actual it would be
a Detroit guy. But because he was on pace. So
I'm saying, why, folks, is the question? Probably he wasn't
one of the MG.

Speaker 5 (23:47):
Never a defensive player will never get it.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
They will not get it.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Just save your breath for that, because it's makes me
sense it's not happening.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
So y'all okay with that. See y'all see what y'alloul
have been doing. Back in the marching days, y'a would
have just been like, it ain't gonna happened. Freedom, TJ
and I would have been goose stepping right past you.
And then when we got free, I would have told
you can't get your rights, nagg. You weren't out here
marching with us.

Speaker 5 (24:11):
All right?

Speaker 4 (24:11):
I want to go to what do you make of
that game? With the last night you had the Steelers?
And of course, uh, Aaron Rodgers first time playing the Packers,
trying to compete beat every team, that's the one team
obviously because he was there all those years, couldn't beat them.
What'd you walk away from that? That the Steelers maybe
they're not as good as we think. The Packers are
back on track. What did you walk away from it?

Speaker 5 (24:32):
You know what I walked away from it saying, how
the hell do the Steelers have all this talent on defense?

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Thank?

Speaker 5 (24:40):
You play defense? Like they have no talent on defense?

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Dode?

Speaker 3 (24:44):
They give them thirty points a week?

Speaker 5 (24:45):
Then, I don't understand how. And I believe they've spent
a hundred and seventy million, correct me if I'm long?

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Yeah? With what and everything?

Speaker 5 (24:56):
Yeah? Their defense is holding them back. It's Jordan Loved
three hundred and fifty plus yards, three touchdowns, over seventy
five percent completion percentage against that defense, right, and so basically,
the Steelers are gonna have to be laid offensively. When
for the longest you think Tim Burth Seelers, you think

(25:17):
great defense. And so if the Bengals could have won,
the Bengals have been right there almost Well.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Speaking of the Bengals, that's where we're going next. Let's
go there. How bad is that? Seriously? Like seriously? And
we we know the Bengals defense, we saw we talk
about it all the time.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
Uh, you know when Joe Burrow.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
Had nine touchdowns against the Ravens last year, lost both games.
Their defense is awful.

Speaker 5 (25:45):
Hey, what do y'all call the show today? Today's Monday?
What do you call it?

Speaker 3 (25:49):
Magic City Monday?

Speaker 5 (25:50):
The Bengals defense is like Magic City parking Lot, straight ass.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
It is. It is so bad they.

Speaker 5 (26:03):
Are, dude, it's like, have some pride, man Like, at
some point, have some pride. You can't be that bad
as a player. You gotta have some pride and say,
this is not gonna be on us. To be up
thirty one to sixteen in the fourth quarter with an
offense that's missing Garrett Wilson and you let Justin Fields

(26:24):
in the Jets offense do that to you? Is embarrassing.
It's embarrassing, like you at some points you gotta have
some pride, coaches. No, that's on. The players were playing,
man the man, shop your guy, simple, shop your guy.
You you can't do that. They missing a best receiver
and so some has to give. They got to figure
this out, man, because that's a game that would have

(26:46):
put the Bengals. That'll put us one game out of
first place. Now we two games because y'all have no pride,
get it together.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
I think they looked at that and just was already
on the next week. It's the Jets justin field, can't
move the ball, will be all right?

Speaker 1 (26:57):
How today? Give up four? Fourth quarter? Right?

Speaker 3 (27:01):
Twenty something?

Speaker 8 (27:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (27:02):
Twenty three? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (27:03):
How did Jets get twenty three points in a fourth quarter?

Speaker 5 (27:06):
I mean the Jets had more yards against the Bengals
than they had the last two games combined.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Yeah, I think they have teach.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
I just think they locked You know, their brain was
already on next week, like I'll be up fifteen only
a handful of minutes.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
Who got another win? I think they just checked out.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
TJ which was out of our guest, former pro bowler
wide receiver co host of Up on game on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
I want to go to this game too. You got
the Broncos.

Speaker 4 (27:31):
They had been struggling offensively aside from the fourth to
fourth quarters, and they hadn't been able to get things going.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
They got to go with Cowboys. Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
If you're feeling sick, you need to get well, go
play the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
Sold you did it, General Hospital of the NFL.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
So was that that we played the Cowboys in where
that's why we were good?

Speaker 1 (27:47):
Or the Broncos find something? Uh? In actuality?

Speaker 5 (27:51):
The Cowboys, the Steelers, the Bengals defense all got a
lot in comments. They can't stop nobody. God, they can't
stop nobody. To me, is Denver played the Dallas Cowboys
team that defensively, they just have a hard time getting
stops on a consistent basis, And so it puts all

(28:12):
the pressure on Dak Prescott seeding Noam George Pickens to
go to work and you got to score every possession.
And so when you're going against a top defense like
Denver has, that makes it difficult. Jerry Jones felt like
they would be better without Michael Parsons and maybe in
the future that comes to fruition and maybe there's some

(28:32):
truth to that. But right now and today, the Cowboys
have a problem and that's stopping people on defense. And
until they figure it out, they're gonna be in the
basement in their division or just above the basement in
third place.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Hey, that's a big win by the Ravens. No, Lamar
didn't play right. They could have easily lost that game.
Nobody would have said anything. And now you get Lamar
back right probably this week, and now you can maybe
try to, you know, get this thing turned around.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Wasn't that a huge win?

Speaker 5 (29:03):
That was a great win by the Ravens. A bad
lost by the Chicago Bears. Lamar comes back and the
defense can play like that. As far as they are
out of first place, you would say the Ravens aren't
a driver's seat to win the division.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
And that's crazy, It is crazy.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
But DA got some defensive players, bay rokwand Smith being
one of them, Like that helps.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
Yeah, But when Roeland Smith was healthy and Martin Humphrey
was healthy and Kyle Hamilton was healthy, they were still
losing and it still was playing terrible on defense, and
so you know what they said, you know, we got
to have some pride. What I said earlier, we got
to play some defense around here. We cannot be the liability,
and they stepped up to the plate. Now, let's see

(29:44):
if you can do it two weeks in a row.
Because the Bears have been playing pretty well on offense
and they shut them down. So now let's see if
you can do it two weeks in a row. You
do it two weeks in a row. Now you have
some belief in everybody, like, oh, the Ravens are for real.
You get Lamar coming back, They are going to be
different boss team.

Speaker 4 (30:02):
Yeah, yeah, they're gonna try to make a push for it. Obviously,
still is gonna try to keep them away. Last one
for me. I'm looking at this, Uh, Drake may and
a lot of people say they had had the chance
for m v P m VP for him. He's like,
I didn't hear it. But Patriots look like a good team.
Where do you make of them?

Speaker 1 (30:20):
And Drake May and specifically the Patriots can Are they legit?

Speaker 5 (30:24):
Oh, Drake Mayors top five m VP right now? Are
they legit? This just goes to show you, man, when
you get a coach in there that the players believe
in and they're willing to follow. Mike Rabel is coach
of the year. I'm saying that right now, he's coach
of the year.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
Too early, really, all right, no, no.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
No, no. What were the Patriots last year? They were
god awful. They were trashed. Mike Rabel has turned them
around and it's pretty much the same.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
But here here's why I hear what you're saying and
what they've done so far. You still got ten games
to go. Like say they finished three and seven. I'm
just giving you a hypothetical. He's not gonna be coach
of the year. Do you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (31:10):
They're not gonna finish. They had five turnovers against the
Pittsburgh Seeds been lost by seven points. The New England
Patriots are for real. They going nowhere. They are serious.
They Mike Ray was a hell of a coach. He's
instill something in that team where they believe they can
beat anybody, and they can.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
All right, DJ, appreciate you as always always, my man,
Appreciate you.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
Sir, appreciate y'all. Take careful.

Speaker 4 (31:33):
Let's keep up the great work, no doubt appreciate it.
Who's eighty four or X? Make sure you give them follow.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
And the Blue Jays should have two runs. Did you
see what what happened was transpired?

Speaker 5 (31:43):
Ah?

Speaker 1 (31:43):
The runner try, The runner thought it was a walk,
so bushed started to go towards second base. They throw
the ball over, they tag him out, and the next
guy gets a hit.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
A walk, there's a walk a hit.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
If everything played out and he was still on that
base or whatever, they would have had two runs. Instead
they got none. As Glassnow got out of it. That
was a big turn of events. And you you can't
waste a situation like that because the first three guys
wind up getting on against class now, but it's no score,
one out in the bottom of a second.

Speaker 4 (32:17):
There you have it all right on the way. Talk
a little bit about the ravens. We mentioned them earlier.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Some trickery.

Speaker 4 (32:25):
Is that what they're doing over there to Canery. Yeah,
we'll tell you about it. Next, it's The ot Couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple

Yes you did Tiger shout out to TJ hoosmons out
and joined us a minute ago. You can check out
the podcast and a little bit Robb G will have
that up. Nothing nothing still Washington at Kansas City just
starting the second quarter there you got a Dodgers up
one nothing I think going into the third if I'm

(33:01):
not mistaken, yeah, third going third inning there, all right?

Speaker 3 (33:05):
Forget you say.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
The Commanders are winning, right, No, it's nothing nothing, they're
winning that they're not behind in the first quarter. Trust
without jayde daniels is it's a w You almost had
me going to the doctor like I thought it was
zero z ere it was actually ten. You donna be
nervous for me, you know what I'm saying. Like, seriously,
they got an interception against my homes as well in

(33:27):
the red zone.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
I mean, there's definitely all right.

Speaker 1 (33:30):
Real quick.

Speaker 4 (33:31):
Yeah, getting a new I'm shocked that they don't know
very much, very much of Patrick Mahone's flag ticket.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
It usually gets that even though he would did he
push him out of bound.

Speaker 4 (33:39):
And he'd be baiting people, ain't gonna lie. He would
get to that sideline, put a little extra into it.
Get a new job.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
Well, we know he was in bounds. I mean, but
normally they called that.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Yeah, he puts some extra sauce on the two. Uh.

Speaker 4 (33:51):
Getting a new job can be so much easier with
Express Employment professionals. With Express you'll have a local connection
to the job market. Gets started at expresspro dot com.
To find a location near you www dot expresspros dot com.
And now it's time for your Express Pro the Week.
The Pro Theweek goes to Cleveland Browns defensive and Miles Garrett,
the All Pro pass rusher, had five sacks and the
Browns lost to the Patriots. So again, Congress Tom Hous

(34:12):
Garrett for being our Express Pro the Week. He's not
happy because he was sitting on the side of the
bench when his team was down because he was mad
that they're playing like trash.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
If you saw that, he said, nobody comes sitting next
to me. All right.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
We talked a little bit about it with Harball and
the Ravens getting to win. But maybe it was some
trickery that helped him get this win.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
Rogie.

Speaker 6 (34:29):
Yeah, they might be in big trouble with the league
because late last week we all thought he was gonna
play the odds reflect he was going to play Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
That is, on.

Speaker 6 (34:37):
Friday, listed him as a full participant in practice, and
then all of a sudden on Saturday, well you know what,
he wasn't really a full participant. He's a limited participant.
So he's actually not going to play on Sunday. Immediately
five and a half points swing in Vegas, and John
Harbaugh did his best to try to quell the situation
after the game yesterday.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Take a listen, coach.

Speaker 10 (35:00):
What you do is you you ask, you might you know,
how is he doing? That's about as much as you
do how are we doing? And when do you think?
And then you get the guys ready that are going
to play. Then when the guys come back to practice,
you put them in there and you practice. And that's
how it works. On the coaching side, coaches are involved with,
you know, statuses and whether guys play or not. That's
not a coaching decision.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
Well, he was trying to get out of it, but
uh then uh uh he got a call from the
NBA and they said, what are you doing here?

Speaker 4 (35:31):
Hey man, you can't fudging these you know, people putting
the wager. I mean, oops like to be doing that.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
It's Adam Silver had to go, this is why we're
into trouble that we're in. And then for them to
put it on the pr staff like like that's what
bothered me. You're the coaching staff, you know who participated.
Don't say it was a mistake by those twenty years
you met, thank you. Oh well, we didn't understand. No, no,

(35:57):
you know whether somebody practiced fully if they're on the
scout team and they're not.

Speaker 4 (36:02):
This is your this on middling guy, This isn't mac Jones, right,
I'll get that.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
Like all right, because we all thought he was playing.
We all thought he was playing. When they said he
had full right, I was like, okay.

Speaker 4 (36:12):
When we see those types of things at the bottom
of the ticker, Lamar Jackson, full participant that you're expected
and we all know what's at stake for them too,
trying to get back in this race and win a division.
So yeah, and you know what, even if I'll even
say this, Rob, let's say for some reason it was
a miscalculation by the what you McCauley, the staff or whatever,
some of you gotta fall on the sword, which I

(36:33):
don't believe, but I'm saying, like you can't just put
on man, you know they this is Lamar Jackson, not
a defensive end, not a tight end, not some safety's
Lamar Jackson, who entire.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
But thisstry gamblingdustry is looking and want to know what's
going on. But this is the issue on why this
gambling thing and information. I said this years ago, even before.
And you know the other thing I've noticed is, and
we said this before too, about no prop bet. Now
you're starting to see that it's all over right, everybody

(37:05):
talking about all they should. I think that's the easy fix.
And then as we had who's the guy we had
on from Bill? What's Krocken Mugger?

Speaker 4 (37:13):
What is it?

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, even here he was like, because you
remember he said, well, earn't that much money better on
well an eliminade? Though I know how much it is,
what times it's okay, twenty is big, twenty of billions,
but he made it right, But he said like, oh,
it's not a big number, No, that's a big billions.
Is alive.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
But I'm saying, if you.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Want to cut this down, that's where you need to
get to, you know what I mean to get out
of that. But anyway, it's it's a bad look, and
this is where the NFL is going to get into
trouble and these other you know, because there's money involved
and if and if people feel like they're being taken
advantage of, that's where the issue comes in.

Speaker 4 (37:55):
And it matters to like you can't you can't say, well,
doesn't matter better when your your partners, Oh Amen, that
type of information matters, you know what I mean, Like
they're partnership with these brands, these fanduels, these these But even.

Speaker 1 (38:10):
Even when before gambling became uh, before gambling became okay, right,
no legal, before it became legal, they used to always
and you know this, you had to announce your scratches
and all that stuff Friday by three o'clock or something
so people could get their bets in on Friday. So

(38:31):
if the NFL has always been right like even then,
it was like, why do they need to announce it
Friday by three o'clock when it could easily be Sunday
morning before the game.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
Because people putting their bets.

Speaker 4 (38:45):
In such a massive part of sports and they know
it too, justin fields and Jesus, we got to talk
about it.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
Amen,
