Fought hard not to be on the radio with me
for years and he finally caved and he's back.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
I'm glad my band is lifted.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Man, you are not fan me and mister Halliburton, Man,
you know my.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Ban is gone. I'm back. Is a privileged drive?

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Unbelievable. Well, I do want to ask a couple of
quick questions to me. The last w n B A game?

Speaker 1 (02:01):
I wait, was the last time you went and paid
for tickets at the w n B A game?

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Why are we doing this? I don't pay for the
NBA tickets, Rob, stop it, I stopped. Don't do that.
Don't do that, don't do that. Don't pay for NBA tickets. Okay,
to stop here, Rob, we know that.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
What was the last w n B A game you
went to?

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Sparks game? It was a Sparks game?

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Is that right?

Speaker 3 (02:20):
It was?

Speaker 4 (02:20):
It was kind enough, Cannas Parker was playing kind They
put they threw me on the jumble trap?

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Man?

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Did it really wild?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Yeah? It was a cool thing.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
It was you on a whole section by yourself, right,
did they just stop it?

Speaker 5 (02:31):
Man?

Speaker 3 (02:31):
No? It was on the front road. Man, it was
pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
All right. I'm just asking, that's all. It's all good.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I would just say that, why would you say that?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
All right, let's talk n b A. You know more
about the NBA? Is that fair to say?

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Rob, stop man, I'm just saying you know more about
the NBA and a w n B A. That's all
all right.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Uh, Shane, can you set the table? Make sure you
put on the correct side and the napkin? Do you
know what side does the fork go on? I'm gonna
ask Ryan, Ryan, what side when you set the table?
Where's the fork going.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
On the right side? What's your right hand?

Speaker 1 (03:12):
And what does the knife and spoon go.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
The left side?

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Okay? Very nice? Okay, all right, thank you. I just
want to check your education that you see l there
should be two for us, a salad for two. Yeah, yeah,
two of them.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
I remember the episode on the Good Times where uh,
what was the youngest son? I just forgot his name?
Michael and he was talking about standardized test. Do you
remember this, Ryan? We run did you ever see this?
And we run? Okay, So what the big thing was?
It was talking about the way standardized tests are and
he said, you know cup and blank, right, So like

(03:49):
the answer was like cup and saucer, cup and table,
cup and floor cup and something else, right, And so
obviously the answer is in saucer. But if you lived
in a house where you didn't use saucers, the correct
answer for you is cup and table. But you would

(04:11):
be mark wrong. But in your house you don't use saucer.
So is that an incorrect answer?

Speaker 5 (04:17):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Serious? You see what I'm saying. It was really interesting
to me.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
This is what they did on the show to talk
about how a standardized test somebody could be it's your environment, right,
which could be the right answer.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
But anyway, but you can't watch a WNBA game.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
I never missed a WNBA. I never watched it, so
I never miss it. Oh gos Man, Okay, all right, Ryan,
set us up. The Knicks are alive. They're alive. They
are definitely alive.

Speaker 6 (04:46):
So yesterday it was Game three of the Eastern Conference Finals,
and it really did look like the Knicks. We're going
to go into that three to zero hole that no
team has ever gotten out of. But in the fourth quarter,
behind the back of Kat, they were able to get
back from a twenty point deficit and win that game.
Do you think this is something that the Knicks will

(05:06):
be able to keep doing or was this just a
one hit wonder for them?

Speaker 1 (05:11):
You guys take it away, all right, Ryan, here we go.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
I'm gonna start this because everybody right away was like,
oh my god, the Pacher will let the Knicks off
the hog. They were now by twenty in the first half.
When this is the NBA. First of all, the Pacers
were never sweeping the Knicks. People got it all twisted
because the Knicks choked down Game one, right, they choked,

(05:37):
And so people thought that this was gonna be a
sweep automatically because all the Pacers won two games in
Madison Square Garden. Ryan, not before the series, not during
the series. They were not gonna sweep the Knicks.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
And it ain't like.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
The same with a twenty point lead. You do NBA
games every night, you know what I'm talking about. A
twenty point lead in the first half with threes, that
ain't no big death. That ain't no game. You can't
come back in the second half, and the Knicks were
playing for their lives. They knew that they couldn't go
down all three. I'm not shocked at all that they won,

(06:14):
but I'm not convinced that the series has turned. You
can't lose the two games that they lost at home,
especially a fourteen point lead Ryan Hollins with two minutes
and thirty eight seconds.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
The record was teams.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
That had a lead of fourteen or more with two
thirty eight to go nine hundred and ninety four and one.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Nobody loses that game. That'll be the game that they'll
come back.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
And remember when the Knicks lose the series, they weren't
gonna get swept. But they're not overcoming those two losses
at Madison Square Garden. I don't believe the Knicks are
any close to the winning I think that they blew
that game is what turned the series, and the Pacers
will play better in Game four at home, win and

(07:03):
they'll be up three to one, and then they'll have
three chances to beat the Knicks to end the series.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
The series didn't turn to me.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Let me ask your son, Robert, are you shocked that
Tips played his bench. Are you shocked that he?

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Ye?

Speaker 1 (07:18):
In minutes, he went against what he had been doing.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Like this was you know what, maybe he could call
JJ Reddick and let JJ Reddick benches too.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
You know.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Now, here's what we can't do because of one series,
because of a bad matchup. And it is a bad
matchup because Indiana moves to basketball. And sometimes we're looking
at Oklahoma City and we're talking about them.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Now, we're not talking about that for the offense.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
We're talking about there for their defense. They get after you,
they climb into the ball. Well, just as good as
Oklahoma City is on defense, the offense of the Pacers
is that good. And their offense is so good. Sometimes
your best defense is your offense. They move the basketball,
they kicked the ball ahead, They play together. They have
guys that are willing to hit shots. Nim Hard Nie Smith. Okay,

(08:06):
see Ikam went off. Haller Burton you know his name,
and that's why his dad's gonna be back rob because
he played. So why you want to talk about we
gotta rub it in, we gotta rubb it d right,
But here's the reality again, it is the Pacers series
to lose. You get to the point and when you
tell me.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
But you didn't believe they were gonna sweep them, I'm
all right, nobody, Come on.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
You know you remember that Buffalo Wild Wings commercial where
they hit the button and they're like overtime, Like, I
want seven games out of this series because Indiana is
fun basketball.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
I beat the last year and seven in the second round,
if you remember they did.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
They did.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
But again, I think that this Indiana Pacers team is
highly disrespected as a team. We know Halla Burton is
a star, is highly disrespected. But they're fun. I'm sorry
they're not sexy.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
The biggest personality on their team has been suspended indefinitely.
That's Haller Burton's dad. Okay. But again, they played the
right way. They moved to basketball. Rick Carlisle played for
Rick Carlisle. He's one of the better coaches X and
OS wise that you're gonna find, and he's one of
the rare coaches that cannot just will coach a championship.
He can coach a rebuild and he's done an unbelievable

(09:15):
job there over in Indiana.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
But again, it's the ball movement. And then when I'm
looking at it.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
Tips is all of a sudden playing his bench, which
tells me he's panicking. And I thought the one thing
to look forward to.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
I agree with that because all of a sudden he
never did that.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Right, you did that, but all of a sudden you're
down too.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Here it is.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
I want you to look forward to this and tell me,
am I crazy? I thought that the big message that
was sent to me. This is a big message that
Tip sent Brunson in towns don't.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Play well together.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
I thought he made a big focus to centralize the
offense around Carlin.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
I agree with that because their games.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
Seriously, Ryan, well, I'm watching and I don't even know
Kats in the game, am I right?

Speaker 3 (09:59):
Like yeah?

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Like like you're like.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Is that his fault? Though?

Speaker 2 (10:02):
No, no, no, no, no, what I'm saying because it's so
it's just that Brunson has to have the ball and
dribble seventeen eighteen seconds.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
I just don't see Cat involved. That's all okay.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
But but now is this is that a panic move?
Do you think for him to say that or do
you think? Because when I see it, I like it
because it's the right thing.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
But I like, I like, I like coaches who make adjustments. Okay,
and if you're good, you want to be stubborn, you
can be stubborn and lose.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Okay, Hold on what you just say.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
You like what I said.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
I like coaches who make change.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
You feel like that's tips and tips is no.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
No, But I'm saying that poem.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
I'm not saying.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
I'm not because I'm.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Giving him credit for loosening up what he had been
doing and realizing, dude, it ain't working. It ain't working,
and you need to do something different. This is why
when coaches do that and just keep doing the same thing,
you go to yourself.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Well, that makes no sense.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
So I understand why he would make a change and
finally go to the bench not wear out all of
his guys.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
You don't think it's too late. You don't think him
doing it at this point is too because.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
It's not too late because they want a game Ryan,
and now they have a chance at least they have
a chance to come out and win game two, and
then it's the best of three. So no, it's not
too late. You still got another team has to win
four games.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
I think it's the right thing, but I don't know
if it's the right time. And the reason I say
I don't know if it's the right time is because
you have teams that are willing to change. You know,
the coaches are known because they'll change up the starting lineup.
You know, they'll go to the hot hand, They'll they'll
go nine or ten deep. You know their coaches. Em

(11:48):
Udoka's is that man. He'll sub a guy. It doesn't
matter who it is. And you haven't seen this from
Tips ever. And now you're seeing it. You didn't see
it from him with Chicago. You didn't see it. You
know what they're running last year. I mean, do you
think so? You really think that this is a good
move for him all of a sudden to do this
and understand that Indiana now knows that Tips would do this.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
It's fine.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
And the reason that your time that you questioning whether
the time is right is because your Rolex has two
l's in it, so probably probably not working. No, well,
that's you're gonna make changes on Ryan. You gotta make
change about this, all right, Let's do this. I want
I want to get eight seven seven ninety nine on

(12:32):
Fox eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Are the Knicks back in this series, Ryan Hollins.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
I don't think they're back in the series, but I
wonder I wonder from you, since you're you're getting two
feet into this, okay? Should Tips be under scrutiny for
the way he's coached with all the success they've had,
and and how great Brunson's played, and how great Towns
has played in moments and what they did to the Celtics.
Should we be scrutinizing? So I'm tip Iteau.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Yeah, Well, there's gonna be scrutiny if they lose. But
when they win. Coming off a win where he finally
relents and gives in and makes some changes, you gotta
tip your cap that at least he wasn't too stubborn
to say, no, this is my way and I'm not
gonna change it. But we want to hear from you.
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox or the Knicks?
Have they turned this series around? Do you think they

(13:22):
can still overcome those two bad losses at home and
win this series? I'm saying no way know how, but
I never thought it would be a sweep. I don't
think the Knicks are back. I think that they gotta win,
and I never ever believe that the Pacers were going
to sweep the next We want to know from you,
what do you think on the Knicks back or not?

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
It is the Odd Couple on a Magic City Monday.
Try the limon pepper Wings. They are delicious right here
on Fox. Stick and stay knick Kicking Attacking.

Speaker 7 (14:03):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
It is the Odd Couple on a Magic City Monday.
On your Memorial Day, don't forget coming up in about
eight minutes, Mark Funky, Cole Medina, the Fox Sports Radio
NBA Analysts. We want to hear from you. Eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox. So the Nick's gonna win
this series? Now that one Game three came back from

(14:38):
a twenty point first half lead, I'm still not seeing it.
Ryan doesn't see it either, but maybe you do. We
want to hear from you. Eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. Let's kick it off, Ryan with Joe in Vegas.
You're on the Odd Couple. Fox Sports radio. What's up, Joe?

Speaker 8 (14:58):
My Memorial dinner is up? You guys making me puke
talking about these Indiana faces.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Oh my, you need a bag next to you.

Speaker 8 (15:10):
I mean my potato sidad. I ain't feeling right, and
I'm gonna tell you you guys made interest in stat
the other day about how the Pacers were thirty one
and two in games they scored more than one hundred
and twenty points. But I'm looking and saying they're nineteen
and thirty when they score less than one hundred and
twenty points. So really, they're either the Chicago Bulls and
Golden State Warrior seventy win team, or they're the Brooklyn Nets,

(15:35):
And I have to think that.

Speaker 9 (15:37):
You know, you don't want to give a team like
the Knicks life. And as long as the Knicks can
keep this next game close, they gonna have a shot
and two to two. If the Knicks can get it
to two to two, then whatever it is Indiana did
the first couple of games will all be balanced out
right there.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
But yeah, sure, are you sure?

Speaker 7 (15:55):
No?

Speaker 1 (15:55):
I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
I still don't think so, because I think you're looking
at it. You're looking at it from the standpoint of
like you thought the Pacers should sweep the Knicks or
thought they should be up three to zero. No, if
it was split at Madison Square Garden, then I would
buy into it that one game is going to be
a huge difference on who wins this series.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
I believe that you.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Cannot Ryan choke down a game like that's a choke
of the ages.

Speaker 8 (16:24):
Well, the foot side of the coin would be that
if the Knicks can win Game four, and you know,
once again.

Speaker 9 (16:30):
It's not impossible.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Did the Pacers beat the Knicks last year at Madison
Square Garden in Game seven in the second round?

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Okay, all right, I didn't want to make sure.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Speaker 9 (16:46):
I'm just saying that.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
I know.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Yes, I get it. You're a Nick fan. You just, oh, yeah,
they're gonna win automatically. The Pacers will not score or
shoot one for eight from three and five for nineteen in.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
The fourth quarter. Again it home, Ryan, you know basketball.
Thank thanks for the call anyway, Joe, I agree, Ra,
you know what I'm saying. Horrendous performance.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
It's a really good basketball club. They play together, they
moved the ball. Their matchup problem New York is scrambling
and right now it looks like the Pacers moving.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
The basketball as a whole.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
And then it's like Brunson one on one, create your
own shot, right, and he's getting worn down, he's tired.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
You needed a cat had an unbelievable performance. Twenty points
in a fourth quarter?

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Are you kidding?

Speaker 1 (17:32):
You know what I mean? Are you expecting that in
Game four?

Speaker 4 (17:35):
I think it's I think it's just tough to pivot
away from the way they've been winning this late in
the season. Rob, And I agree with you, it's the
right thing. You gotta try something you got. I think
it's just it's too late to reconstruct the way you play.
And I think that's what bothers me with all I'm
seeing from the Knicks.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Rick and Tucson. You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Rick?

Speaker 5 (18:00):
I guess I'm not going to be popular with you
guys today.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
No, you could be popular. Please have your own opinion.
That's why we open up the calls.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
Yeah, and by the way, I appreciate the way you
speak to your audience.

Speaker 10 (18:11):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
You know what, This is your show, Rick, this is
your show. A lot of people don't get that this
is your show and we appreciate you, we want to
hear from you.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
Well, two things come to mind when I'm watching this series.
Number One, I can't help but go back to watching
Willis Reed, Walk Fraser, Earl Monroe, those great, great mix
team that came out of nowhere to beat the Lakers.
And this next team reminds me of the street Fight.

(18:42):
And I tell you what, I would rather be in
a street fight with the Knicks, and I would with
the Pacers. And I think that this is going to
bear out that the Knicks win this series.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Okay, that'd be an unbelievable comeback. I just think it's
hard to lose the first two games. People have come
back and one appreciate the call, but Ryan, you know
in basketball, they cannot give up games like they gave up.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
You're not gonna beat the Knicks going one on one.
If we're going one on one, you're going one on one.
They got the defenders and it plays to their hands,
and that's what Boston does. It was Tatum and Brown
going one on one and they had the defenders.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Michael did a heck of a job. O g did
it your good job. Pacers don't go one on one.
They moved better than any team probably in the NBA.
Am I wrong when I.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
Say that they still moved the basketball in overtime and
normally an overtime and fourth quarter it's a lot of
one on one by every other team, they still moved
the ball and that's tough to guard.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
Rob.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
And that's why you know Rickcarla wasn't still in Dallas, right,
I'm just sad.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Not why Rob. Everything was going well and then you
do that.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
I'm just saying like he had to get out of
Dodge or Dallas or whatever you want to say, because
of the way he style of basketball they want.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
But I agree with you, it's just when they play
their game.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
They didn't shoot well in the fourth or they gave
up a lead, and of course, but I just didn't
expect them. I really didn't ryan for them to be,
uh sweep the Knicks. If they would have swept the
Knicks and something was really wrong with the Knicks, and
you gotta really think about making a change at coach.
I'm serious. If the Knicks would have got swept and
they just beat the Celtics, why would you make a

(20:19):
change because there's no.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
So then everybody else should be fired.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
It comes with expectations, is what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
So you're firing the Celtics coach, you're firing What I
mean that was why did you fire him?

Speaker 3 (20:33):
They lost?

Speaker 1 (20:34):
They lost Missoula. I mean to look Missoula.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
But you would fire Tips.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
Tims has never won a championship and Missoula at look
at the team that Missoula had and other coaches with
that team, and they didn't win. They went to the
finals before laws. So you're kidding Missoula gotta get credit, okay, but.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
Credit so so so. The New York just won a championship.
They're coming off they they've been win championships. He's not
the most successful Knicks coach now, he's.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
Seen this time one anywhere he's been. I mean, come on,
how long are you gonna go with that? I mean,
if they would have got swept, there would have been
reason to open up and think about making a change,
if there was somebody else viable.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
That's all I'm saying. I'm not trying to say it should.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Be fun believable, man, unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Coming up, we're gonna talk with Mark Funky Cole Madina.
That's coming up after our update, But first let's get
you to Martin Weiss and they'll let you know what's happening.

Speaker 11 (21:29):
Thirteen minutes away from tip off of Thunder at Timberwolves,
despite the post of time being eight thirty Eastern, still
thirteen minutes away from the game actually starting. We are
getting Timberwolves trailing in that series, trying to even it
up two games to one, Oklahoma City in the lead.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Sitting there watching them warm up now.

Speaker 11 (21:48):
Stanley Cup Playoffs, Eastern Conference Finals, Game four, Hurricanes looking
to avoid getting swept by the Panthers. They are about
eleven minutes into the first period.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Carolina with six.

Speaker 11 (21:57):
Shots on gold, Florida with four score us thus far
in Major League Baseball right now got three games active.
Bottom of the seventh inning, the Dodgers with a six
to two lead over the Guardian Show Heyl Tani with
his nineteenth homer of the Major League Baseball season. Bottom
of the sixth inning, Twins raised scoreless as zero. In
the top of the second inning, Pirates Diamondbacks scoreless as well.

(22:20):
Earlier today we saw the john Tigers beat the Giants
three to one, Brewers three to two over the Red Sox,
Cubs beat the Rockies three to one. Cardinals lose to
the Orioles as as only their ninth home win on
the season thus far at five to two.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
The score in favor of Baltimore.

Speaker 11 (22:36):
Blue Jays beat the Rangers two to one, two to one,
the score of Mets, White Sox New York wins, and
the Reds beat the Royals seven to four. And Caitlin
Clark willens a minimum of two weeks with the left
cap string she hurt herself in Saturday's loss to the Liberty.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Back to you guys, and.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
They're gonna put the WNBA on hole for two weeks.
Oh my gosh, oh I'm sorry. It is the Odd Cup.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
On a Magic City Monday, Rob Parker, Ryan Hollins here
on Fox Sports Radio, thanks for joining us on this
Memorial Night evening. And it's always great to have you
Ryan talk some basketball.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
I love you lifting my band man. I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
We'll stop it. You were you were never been so.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
Olden polonies wasn't available.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Oh wow, there you go, shout out Op.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
He was on a hunger strike today. So and that's
why we do it. I can't wait to talk to
you too, and We're gonna get to that about the
about what all NBA? All NBA. I can't wait to
get to that. All right, let's bring him in a
little bit like this.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
Here he is, Mark Funky, Cole Modina here on the
EYD couple, Rob Parker, Ryan Hollands.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
What's up Mark?

Speaker 10 (23:56):
Okay? I just enjoy Memorial Day and thanks to all
who have served here on a good Monday. And appreciate
you guys, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
Let's go here. Let's start tonight. Who do you like?
See Wolves? What do you like?

Speaker 2 (24:11):
A bounce back from the Thunder in a very important
Game four?

Speaker 10 (24:15):
Yeah, very important Game four. I'm going to go with
the Thunder. I know that they got blown out by
the Wolves in Game three, but I think that was
an aberration. That was the perfect combination of the Wolves,
you know, playing desperate at the Thunder, putting their foot
off the gas pedal a little bit. You know, Minnesota's
a respectable team, but I think history has shown in
these playoffs, whether it's against Denver, whether it's against Minnesota,

(24:38):
when Oklahoma City is fully locked in, they're a pretty
tough team to be so, I think they're gonna wind
up bouncing back tonight and then they'll wrap up the series.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
In Game five, Mark Robb is just over here.

Speaker 4 (24:50):
He's adamant, and he's just he's just preaching, his screaming
that that the Knicks are done. There's nothing they can do,
and they're over with they're going home.

Speaker 7 (25:00):
You know.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
He says, he's like, it shouldn't have been a sweep,
but there's nothing they can do.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Is Rob crazy for saying this?

Speaker 10 (25:06):
Mark, Well, Rob is crazy, but I think that he's
actually right about this one. Yeah, the next they're resilient team,
they're going to be competitive. I think it was a
similar thing though that you know their resiliency, competitiveness. They
made the starting lineup change with bringing Mitchell Robinson as
a starter Josh Hart off the bench. That changed a
little bit of the complexion of the game. But also

(25:27):
the pet Pacers let their own foot off their gas pedal.
So I think what we've seen this series that when
the Pacers Playffs at their level, they tap into their
depth pace it's too overwhelming. So, yeah, this was a
good game. In the next one shows it's not going
to be embarrassed. But I fully expect not only the
thunder and bounce back game four, But I think the

(25:48):
same thing for the Pacers.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Yeah, I'm with you on that.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Tyreese Halliburton's dad John is going to be allowed in
the building for game four.

Speaker 10 (25:58):
Of I know that Grian's here gear you know, you.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Know it does. I think it's a mistake.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
I think you got rules and regulations and you should
stick to him. And of course Ryan Hollins is you know,
a pushover. I'm gonna call him push over Page because
anything like he's just like whatever, Okay, let's let him
back in. I mean, what well, I notice is the
the uh, the Pacers who gave the penalty.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
But if you're the NBA, are you happy with this?

Speaker 10 (26:24):
Well, I think that there could be a compromise. I
mean I was with you Rob in full agreement saying
that after the incident happened that he shouldn't be around
the game. So I think that was more just to
set the precedent out. If it was any NBA fan
that in front of the player, especially if Y'annasa Ankumpo's stature,
they would have been removed immediately. But I don't think
he has to be banned for.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
Life for the season, for the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
Why not?

Speaker 3 (26:48):
These are lifetime moments, Rob, that's why.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
He could watch it on the big screen.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
Well, he should have thought about that when he ran
out there. Mark, how long have you been covering the NBA?

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Give me years. How many years have you ever seen.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Somebody's parent run out on the court after a game?
Because I've been covering the league nte eighty seven and
I've never seen it.

Speaker 10 (27:09):
I've never seen it either, Rob. Though we're in twenty
twenty five, you know, time has changed. Now I am
with you. It's not acceptable for him to be confronting
a player, but he should still be allowed to be
at the games at some point so that he can
witness his son's magical moments. Like just don't give him
a courtside seat. Is that a decent compromise?

Speaker 2 (27:28):
So now he has to take the elevator down to
the lower level to run out on the court.

Speaker 10 (27:33):
Well exactly, And that means it's impossible for him to
have that kind of moment, but he can at least
see his son, you know, play live in a pivotal
playoff game.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Mark, dare I ask you this?

Speaker 4 (27:46):
And I don't love this, but this is just the
sports talk that we live in and Rob likes to
ensue these type of debates. Who's better if you're picking
a team tomorrow, forget Age, Shay Gills, Alexander, Anthony Edwards.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Who you take he? Mark?

Speaker 10 (28:03):
That's a good question because I mean I think Shae
goches Alexander deserved the MVP, you know why the league
in scoring, I would take him. I mean, Anthony Edwards
has risen his game to another level as a score
playmaker leader, but there's another level of consistency that he
can reach, I think from a leadership standpoint. I mean,
Shae has more years under his belt, so he's more

(28:24):
polished there. I know people are up in arms about
how he draws found.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Yes, almost flopping my god, he's a fishing out of water.

Speaker 10 (28:33):
Yeah, But I don't think it's the same severity as
we've seen James hard in the past, you know, and
he would, you know, try to get other people's landing
spates and flail from the three point line. We Shay
is driving to the rim and whether it's exaggerating the
contact or not, that's a little bit more believable.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
He should have got an Academy award rather than an MVP.

Speaker 10 (28:53):
Well, he shouldn't have just gotten the Academy Award, Robb,
he should have gotten an Oscar. But you know, I
think that he's or that he's scoring more than just
because of his acting skills, it's also because his basketball skills.
So Andthony Edwards. I think the thing with him is,
you know, he's younger than say so. I don't think
it's you know, necessarily a knock on him that Shae

(29:15):
is a better player. You know, you give him a
few more years of you know, finessing all his skills
and being able to enhance his leadership qualities, he could
very well be a better player than Shaw.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Uh, no doubt.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Our guest is Mark Funky Cole Medina. Of course, Fox
Sports Radio NBA analyst also want to ask you about, uh,
just the Pacers and winning how big winning that game
with fourteen points down with two thirty no team almost

(29:46):
a thousand games logged with the same criteria and nobody
had won that. I think that's what changed the whole
series and put the Pacers in the driver's seat.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Really, I don't think that you can bounce back from that.

Speaker 10 (30:00):
Yeah, I mean, I think it really set the tone
for so many reasons. They steal a road win in
Game one, they show the resiliency and coming back. You know,
this is something that they've done all season. I think
with Tyrese Haliburton's case, you know, he has that moment
in the garden, you know, much different circumstances. We had
another moment last year in Game seven against them. So

(30:20):
I think that we've seen Tyres raise his game to
another level in these playoffs. He was always seen as
the best passer in the NBA. But while you know
that whole athletic pull about him being overrated was overstated,
there was some legitimacy of his consistency level, part of
it being health, part of it not always being aggressive.
And I know his trainer, Drew Handlin's has always been

(30:43):
in his ear that you know, sometimes the most selfish
thing can be being too unselfish. And so no one's
ever asking him to always be the leadings score or
be the lead score in a consistent basis. But that
aggressiveness level is something that they've been harping on. I
think that we've seen him turn a corner with that
with the playoffs, and I think that Game one really

(31:04):
epitomized that as a growth moment both for him and
the team. And I'm with you Rob that you know,
while technically the series isn't over, it is serious, defining
and one of the many reasons why I think the
Pacers walk away with us.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
Yep, you have one more Ryan one minute.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
Of course I do. Mark. I've been a bit fan
of your work for a long time.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
So here we go.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
We'll put you on the spot right now, We'll put
you on the spot.

Speaker 4 (31:31):
Rob Parker said something that to me, my opinion, my
little opinion, is absolutely insane. But we've seen crazier things
happen in the NBA. If New York loses, should Tips
be on the hot the guy to you?

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Did? I said, if they did?

Speaker 2 (31:48):
I said, if they got swept, I would have told
that be no, because coming in there's no way I
would have predicted that the Pacers would have swept them.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Mark, And I said, if they got.

Speaker 4 (31:58):
The legitimacy, Mark, because he's he's all of a sudden
kind of throwing Tims under the bus.

Speaker 10 (32:02):
Now, No, I don't think Tim should be on the
hot seam. I mean, Rick Carl may may may have
done it more of a master job coaching, but I
think Timms He's used his roster, you know, much differently
because he doesn't have as much depthful pieces. But you know,
I think Tom Thibodeau will get more credit for them
going to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time

(32:23):
since the late nineties. And I think the other thing is,
you know, when you're talking about coach firings, Okay, well,
who's the head coach that you're going to replace?

Speaker 1 (32:31):
I mean, I mean that obviously plays into it.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
But I remember when the Detroit Pistons fired Rick Carlisle
right after they made it run to the second round
and they won fifty games, and they.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
Upgraded with Larry Brown.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
And guess what, Ryan Hollands, what happened the next year
with Larry Brown as the head coach?

Speaker 1 (32:48):
What happened?

Speaker 3 (32:49):
Now? Now the truth comes out, Mark, the troop comes out.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Marks.

Speaker 10 (32:58):
Well, how about in this specific case the other like,
you know, proven coaches that are available.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
I'm selling Mike Malone.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
I think that Mike Malone should be the next coach
of the Lakers.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
They should get rid of Rick. I mean, uh but Redick?

Speaker 2 (33:12):
Yeah, j was so good.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
No, I would fire Am I crazy? Mar?

Speaker 3 (33:18):
Yes?

Speaker 10 (33:19):
Yes, yes, Rob.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
I would I would hire Mark Malone tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
Mike Mike Malone, I'm thinking a quarterback Mike Malone tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
I would.

Speaker 9 (33:31):
Rob.

Speaker 10 (33:31):
Yes, you are crazy, and that's one of the many reasons.
I mean, Michael Mullen is a great coach, but when
it comes to Tibbs, he would tends to be that
are can. He has, you know, more of a handle
and continuity with the team. Same thing with Mike Booneholz
or Taylor Jenkins with the Lakers. Yeah, JJ Redick wasn't
a perfect coach. He had, you know, as we know,
the pat coming with playing the five starters in Game

(33:52):
four in the second half, but he did a very
good job in the regular season, made the most of
the rotations and a lot of their short I mean,
he's just had to do with the fact they didn't
have a center and they didn't have a defensive identity
in the playoffs. But they're gonna make roster changes and
they have Luca and Lebron. They'll be much better next season.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
All right, We appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
And didn't they make a movie about Tom Thibodeau, wasn't
it They called me mister Tibbs.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
Now is that?

Speaker 10 (34:19):
I thought you were going to reference the movie Eddie
in which your.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
They tipps.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
All right, we appreciating he is Mark Fucky Cole Madina.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
Thank you for your insights. Appreciate you.

Speaker 10 (34:33):
I was trying to manage drop her.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
Thank you all right?

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Coming up next, did Lebron James deserve to be on
the All NBA team? And I know Ryan Buttersoft Sharman
will be all on board with this, but there's no
way if you look at the stats, this makes sense.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
But we'll talk about it next.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
It is the couple Rob Parker, Ryan Hollins and for
Kelvin Washington on a Magic City Monday, right here on

Speaker 1 (35:58):
Here, Ryan Hollins, here's what.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Your ten years of experience on the hardwood in the
NBA comes in.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
You saw the All Pro.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
All NBA teams, I should say all Pro NFL all
NBA teams were announced recently and Lebron James surprisingly was
on the second team. And here's a question for you.
He was negative fifty four for the entire season on
the plus minus. That's eight hundred and eighty third in

(36:35):
the league, twentieth on his own team, and he still
made All NBA second team.

Speaker 4 (36:43):
Your response, you gotta understand the impact. I know you're
trying to pull numbers in No, you can pull numbers anybody.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
There's nobody else put a negative on the NBA team.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
Here's the thing.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
Lebron James comes with a lot of gravity. Okay, he
still takes a double team, he still plays consistently. Okay,
he's a guy that makes his other teammates better.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
And most of all, you see the success that the
Lakers had.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
I know they end up losing, but it's a regular
season award, and I think what the Lakers in a
fifth or six. Here's the thing, man, they had a
good season and Lebron James was a huge part of that,
even more so obviously clearly than Luca Doncis, who was traded.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
And came over late.

Speaker 4 (37:30):
So I think you absolutely have to credit for Lebron James. No,
this is not the golden years that he had in
the past, but at the end of the day, he
commanded double teams, he played night after night, and if
you look at that roster, even when Anthony Davis went out, man,
he was still the guy in the focal point. And
did he make some mistakes, Yeah, okay they're every time

(37:50):
he makes them.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
But he's the only player, the only one. Come on,
this is reputation. This is not based on his numbers.
How Come no other player had a negative plus minus.
He's the only one. Shay Gildris, Alexander guess what his was?

Speaker 3 (38:07):
Where his team is good, he sits down and they
do well. Robbie's the MVP.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
But all I'm saying is it makes no sense. Okay,
you can't have it. What the what kind of plus
minus stat?

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Then if it doesn't matter, minus fifty four, get you
all pro, all all NBA.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
Okay, okay, if you don't have a problem with that,
I don't have a problem because I solve the double
teams that Lebron takes. I see the way he moves
the ball. I see it gravity. Okay, So look at
the second team. You got Anthony Edwards, you got Curry,
you got Lebron Brunson, and then you got Mobile.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
Only one player had negative but only one player hat
of negative plus minus.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
I guess where that one?

Speaker 3 (38:49):
Who are you putting Kate Cunningham?

Speaker 2 (38:54):
Although they be there, but I know who shouldn't be there?
Is my point. You can't do that.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
The guys that were that were under him were up
and down where it.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Was one wasn't. People were clamoring for Kay Cunningham. Jud
how he was in the East.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
Oh yeah, and the East.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
There's a big difference. Roberts is sixth in the West.
And don't quote me.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
I think the Lakers were fourth, were right better?

Speaker 3 (39:19):
Robert You kidding me?

Speaker 2 (39:20):
Yes, But I'm talking about plus minus shopping on Shay Gildess.

Speaker 4 (39:25):
Alexander got the m v P because not he was
the better player, but because of.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
This seems success. I'm just so so answer this. Answer this.
Who's responsible for the Lakers being fourth?

Speaker 4 (39:38):
Oh wait, who's responsible for the Lakers being fourth?

Speaker 1 (39:41):
Well, they had an easy schedule and they had Luca.
The Western Conference was easy.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
You just scrutinized JJ Reddick. Who's responsible for it?

Speaker 1 (39:52):
JJ Reddick was terrible?

Speaker 2 (39:54):
All right, odd couple, You know what you want to do,
stick and stay k
