Speaker 4 (01:30):
He gave so so he doesn't feel odd. So merse gang,
I say, purse, it's a purse. Stop calling him.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
It's a purse. Actually it is a it's technically ain't
over the shoulder bag.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
All I know is Elijah's wife just texted him and said,
don't bring that bag home.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
Come here, coming here in rock yours, Come rock yours.
What did he just give you?

Speaker 6 (01:53):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I already know this is amazing. I already noticed. Okay,

Speaker 2 (02:22):
What we're doing? Are the guns you need to get

sweater off, put that on.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah, all right, we'll do that.

Also Greg Gabe, the former NFL Scout host of Gabriel
talks football. That's coming up as well. In about twenty
six minutes, so a lot to get to an hour
number two for show. But first, Rob g the forty
nine ers just continue to roll. They put up a

(03:19):
forty eight piece last night on the Colts. Very happy
to see the Indianapolis Colts lose again. They're out of
the playoffs. Good, I feel very good about it.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
I thought you would be happy to see senior citizen
doing well.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
No, I thought you would be like, look at my
kinfolks out here doing that thing.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Now, Hey, I'm just like I thought you would be
so like, look at it. We can still do We
can still be on the radio. You know what, if
still doing TV.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
Though, even though Rod points them all out and tells
him they need to retire.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
It would be different. Seriously, and I get this is
what sticks. I gotta be real quick, Okay. If it
was a quarterback who we had no affiliation of friendship with,
I might be warmed up to a little bit, like like,
I still think it's a reach, but because of the
cronyism part, it's what bothers me. Beculd you know, that's

(04:07):
something that's my thing.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
So I want to be with you.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
That's just literally life though, like that's the guy. Guy
get the guy, not an athletics. I get it on
most most other things.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Most of the.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Time, you got to earn your way on and not
in sports. You know that you got to make the team.
Nobody just can put you on a team. Normally you
have to make the team.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
That's the one position though quarterbacks can do that. By
the way, Alex, you left, you left a CARDI here, bro.
I thought it was for me. I was like, well, yeah,
I'll hold on to it.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
I feel something. Never mind, you ain't getting nothing the right,
remember Alex.

Speaker 8 (04:43):
Odd mob flowing in. We'll read some of your comments
later this hour. I mean, if you want to do
it now, you can't read it. Well, there's a lot
about Draymond Green, but wherever you kind of past that.
These are more specific to everybody on the show. I
want to read these ones from.

Speaker 9 (04:57):
Past.

Speaker 8 (04:58):
The joint pods say, is I'm in Portland. We're all Super?
U hr up here to a shot at Alex.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
That's funny. Wow, wait, hold on, that might be your
connectough Alex. You might be able to, you know, get
what you need from him.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
No, you know what problem is that their super is
broken down on the side of I'm gonna have so
much time to.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Listen to the show.

Speaker 7 (05:16):
We can't help each other.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Hey, I thought Super supposed to be a good card.

Speaker 8 (05:19):
Too, Shot and Sacramento official mayor of the audience. Yo,
what kind of Jackie Calvin got on blood? That boy
cleaner than Windecks with that he shout out to my man.
Can't heard that in these streets.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
Man shout out to my man times because you know
him Detroit's own.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
That's how we know you ain't from here.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
Appreciate you man got on a Dodgers jacket right listen,
you know he's affiliated.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
All I'm gonna say is mine got lost in the mail.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Since George the gearing back on me, Tod, I take
care of my man. Okay, I'm saying, you know, Rob,
you know what I'm saying. Look out for you boys.
You know I'm saying. It's the Detroit connection right here,
look out, look boom. Now you're gonna be happy.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
Yo, Look what came in the mail. You wanted to
go to the the old apartment of the new one,
No new one, right, I got to get that address.
I only got the old address.

Speaker 8 (06:07):
Pope fraud twenty three says Yo. Why Rob just pick
up the phone telling me to hold on? But he
does do that. That is pulling back the curtain. Rob
does do that.

Speaker 5 (06:16):
I know that like that, that's just told people love.
You're a very distant boy, Rob, Rob. Rob Screedy calls yeah,
oh that is funny.

Speaker 8 (06:24):
And last one, a DJ name Slash says peace, Peace
to the odd couple. Three point five shout out Rob,
G that's messed up, Bro. Why three point fiveause? I'm
sure oh man, they saw you, Yeah, they saw me
on the camera.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
FUCKO. If you're gonna be sure, have a little weight
on you. You don't want to want to get all skinny
out here jabbing and see when he's sitting they can't
really tell us, hyke.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
I'll wait till he stands up and I stand up
and I'm the same. Yeah, no he is. That's what Roger.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
I appreciate you because you know you make me feel
like I ain't the tallest d in the world next
six six, you know, next to you, he told me
Rob when we go to Santa Clara, He's like, hey, Rob,
just walk next to him.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Just walk next to me if you can.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
And everybody tries to stay away from Yes, we don't
want to walk next to me.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
What the problem is?

Speaker 5 (07:11):
They think I'm your security though, Rob g They're like,
who's that big dude, black dude? Because next to you,
I look six eight. Who's that big black dude? Is
that a security? Like I'm steven A walking up in
birthday parties?

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Someone? Kaya uh?

Speaker 8 (07:23):
Cayenne Marina says, Rob gonna be looking like steven A
come April with that jersey.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
Actually, stephen A is a very I love this, I
really do you.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
That's dope. You know what I meant to Wimby.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Everyone knows it's twim.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
Were that at NABJ and that's listen, I'm trying to
tell you what the nice little jewelry, nice watch on
some some dope shorts kind of what.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
The cut at the bottom of this is a real
nice black and white James.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
So this is real too. Elijah got some connects, he says, no,
it's not. It feels realist.

Speaker 8 (07:57):
He knows the guy who knows the guy.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
It ain't really twenty eight dollars.

Speaker 7 (08:01):
It's nice thad.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Okay, yeah, wait, wait, wait.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
As you know, Rob Parker always says, it don't matter
where it's from. Its the kind of Elijah, very very nice,
got it through. He got it through customs for you.
Rob is one of those.

Speaker 8 (08:15):
Guys where he's more impressed with how much you say
than how much you pay.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
That's you pay full. Oh god, we don't do that
because I take it back exactly. Elijah appreciate it. All right,
Let's get back to sports. You guys talked about it.

Speaker 8 (08:27):
The San Francisco forty nine Ers don't look now, but
despite being one of the most injured teams all season,
near the top of the league and games missed through injury.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
It's funny because they're making the playoff, they are trying
to say about the Lions.

Speaker 8 (08:40):
They will host the next two games upcoming against the
Bears and the Seahawks to close the regular season. If
they win both of those games, they will be the
number one seed in the NFC, which means they could
theoretically not have to leave the Bay Area all the
way through and including the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
That's where at right now.

Speaker 8 (08:59):
With with San Francisco, though they've won five straight, each
won by double digits, averaging a league guy thirty four
points a game during that span. Their offense has been
so good. This is a fund stat They have not
punted the ball in the month of December.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Serious, Davin, That is incredible.

Speaker 8 (09:16):
Kyle Shanahan, duck tape and paper cliping this roster together
and they are now on the precipice of the top seed.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
In the NFC. Well, they about to go get it now.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
It's the same conversation we've had about Josh Allen, except
for they've been there before. They've been there a couple
of times in this era. There's really I mean, I listen,
you've been able to a credit Kyle Shanahan from able.
As you mentioned, they've them and the Lions have been
so beat up, Bruce battered. Yet unlike the Lions, they've
been able to find ways to win. They got mac Jones.
Who Matt Jones. He came out and perform well for

(09:50):
a handful of games. Now brought perties back. They've won
five straight with him. Offense looks good. You got the
key Coggs in your offense. Running to me, Rob, I
look at this as if you're Kyle Shanahan. Hey man,
if not now, then win, well, if not now, then win.
You've been there before, You've gotten there a couple of times.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
You got the NFC Championship games.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
Your quarterback that you invested a bunch of money in,
he's able to get healthy. You've able to get your
running backs been going good. McCaffrey, Kiddle's still there. You
can still back. You still got some other weapons. Defense
has been kind of a bend, but don't break since
they lost so many guys, And I look at this team.
This is one of those few seasons, Rob, it's kind
of open. You know, you don't have the bohemos of

(10:30):
the Chiefs when they were in their absolute peak. There's
no Tom Brady sitting around. You know, there's no This
isn't the nineties Cowboys or anything like that where you
we gotta go through them. This is to me as
open as it's really been in quite some time. So
if you're a Kyle Shanahan, this is the one where
you have to coach your way to finally not get there,
get it done and be like these two teams Rob

(10:51):
g you talked about, got a chance to play all
the way up.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Into the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
The Rams won it in LA the Buccaneers won it
down there in Tampa. So it's happened twice in the
last five six years. Go ahead and make it happen
again for yourself. But he has to get it done.
What's the point that you know you've knocked on that door,
you've been there enough, kick them again.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Now.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
I have zero confidence in Kyle Shanahan, and I'm not
convinced he's a regular season uh one trick pony, like he's.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
The postseason two because he's gotten there, yeah, super Bowl,
but he's lost three Super Bowls with disastrous finishes and
all of them.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
So it's one thing to get there, like to continue
to do the same thing where you have a complete
meltdown when it matters most some people aren't made for
that stage to be able.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
To finish the job. You would disrespect Martin Levy like this.

Speaker 5 (11:44):
I'm just saying, crazy new Marv Levy. Martin Lev's sitting
there mine in his own business. He's still with us
right now. I'm not so sure.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Is Martin Levi still with us? ROI, Well, I'm just
if he is.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
He's ninety five years old, Okay, Marve Levy. I don't
think he's coached to Buffalo Bills in a long time.
But my point is simple. I don't trust Kyle Shanahan.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
I don't look at them despite all the winning that
they've done where they are once again in the uh
you know, winning all the games where they are in
the season and going into the postseason. We've seen this
with different quarterbacks, different situations, and the end result always
seems to be the same. Don't forget it took a
colossal collapse by the Lions for him.

Speaker 5 (12:28):
Don't forget go look me in my eyes, just saying,
why are you pushing it?

Speaker 4 (12:31):
Because you already know like that should have been right there,
and you know people wouldn't be talking about Kyle Shanahan
the same way that they are. But if you look
at that, uh, you know, collapse to the Patriots, that
was unbelievable. And I know he wasn't the head coach,
but he's the.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
Offensive offense that I did not run the ball and
pass it all the time.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
First, hirstontenant to twenty two. They were in field goal
range already pat two passes A hold a sad they
were out of field goal rang like, really.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Just kick the field goal, you go up, you're up
too many, you win up. I love it. That's what
he would be. Up too many. Let me let me
throw this at you real quick.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
Is there a part of you that feels like a
guy that has shown Jimmy g brocky p uh mac Jones,
missing Fred Warner, missing Bosa, it doesn't matter Deebo's gone.
Do you feel like because I feel like just if
you would have just told me this blindly, not the person,
but just if I told you this person, I almost

(13:32):
feel like it's an inevitabent, like you have to win
if you coach this well, given all certain different types
of you have to get it done.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
No, because because you just talked about Marv Levy. They
won the AFC four years in a row. So so
he did a great job, right, you got Hall of
Famer okay, for four years in a row and they
lost every Super Bowl. So Bud Grant with the Minnesota
Vikings lost four super bowl So he had great team.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
The people per with the Vikings.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
I mean, like seriously, so you can you can coach
like that doesn't mean you're gonna get over the hump.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
I think Kyle Shanahan better do the humpty hump and
get over. He's the current Marv Levy and Bud Grant.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
That's that, and he's been That's what he That's what
he can wind up being is that he won't win.
I won't believe that Kyle Shanahan wins the super Bowl
unless he actually wins one.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Like not.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
I don't care about the coach in the offense, what
he's able to do, how many regular season wins. I
won't believe in Kyle Shanahan until he actually wins. I
think he'll wind up like Bud Grant, like.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Uh, Marve leader.

Speaker 5 (14:42):
If there's a season to do it as this one,
because I don't think there's a prohibited favorite. You know again,
you're not man, Patrick Mahomes, and you already know where
We've done that dance for five six years where even
if he lost, but you were, you'd pick them. There's
no prohibited favorite. And the way they've been playing, he
has to look at it as why not this year?

Speaker 2 (14:59):
The Rams? Who else? There's no complete team in the AFC.

Speaker 5 (15:04):
There's no team you look at that's fully well rounded,
you know, don't You don't fully trust the Broncos, and
you don't fully maybe the Patriots.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
Maybe all right, John Harbaugh should be ashamed of himself today.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
We'll get to that next and we'll tell you why
it is.

Speaker 4 (15:21):

the problem.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
That's true.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
And I know he didn't got a few calls. You
ain't slick, Robber, I know, yeah, But he goes and
he goes to these other bad radio places and they're bad.
Now that's true too. You can go somewhere making fifty
more and be miserable, exactly fine.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Spoke like a man who you're gonna sit there and
listen to these bad shows.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
You do before? Like I haven't done that? Why are
you bringing up the time he's come with Ben Mallary.

Speaker 8 (18:30):
Shout out, Yeah, But I love him so much.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
I never go to his lives in Nevada is exact city,
but what direction like he lives from here like an
hour and a half. It's an Orange County.

Speaker 7 (18:48):
It's not that far. Here, it's an hour from here.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
No, it's not for me.

Speaker 7 (18:52):
That's an hour from here, and he's closer.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
But it all depends on what time of day, you know.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
Yeah, and the other thing too. I realized it was
far when I saw a lam across the road.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
I figured that might be a little too far. But
then you would do anything for Aaron, So.

Speaker 7 (19:05):
I will say though, Ron Parker, me and Rob g
started our career together on Andy Furman and Mike North.
Now that was a show worth drops. Let me tell you.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
That's going to be one of the segments. Man, that's
you mean whole hour, a whole hour. I'm being fired
plenty of times, freaking a fire and who you want
to fire?

Speaker 5 (19:38):
Now?

Speaker 8 (19:38):
Quickly before we get to great Gabriel, you guys talked
about it. The Pro Bowl teams were announced here today.
There were four teams that had six players to leave
the league. Tell me what one of them does not
have in common with the other three. The other one doesn't.
Isn't going to the play Settles?

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Ding?

Speaker 8 (19:57):
Yeah, San Francisco forty nine ers, right, Ding, Denver Broncos
and the Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
And this is why after week four or something, I
said that John Harball should be fired and I still
feel that way because they have talent.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
The team is discippointed. The one guy who made the.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
Pro Bowl the Flowers, Rob Can that's Mike and he
fumbled the other night.

Speaker 5 (20:25):
Yes, I know, Rob g. How many fumbles does he
have now? Maybe we only see the one, like is
it two or three?

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Three?

Speaker 4 (20:32):
But it feels like it's well because he fumbles in
big games.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
That's the problem.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
And order regular you know game week six, okay, what
happens so three this year.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
But that one in the AFC Championship game against Kansas
City changed the whole game.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
He fumbled at the one.

Speaker 5 (20:48):
Him and Derek Henry boy timely and uh likely and
Lively I'm the NBA player likely and and who else?

Speaker 2 (20:56):
On Andrews? What was he doing other day? Throwing it back? Ya?
See what's going on?

Speaker 4 (21:01):
It was another one, But that's a reflection of John
Harpball's well, he should be fired after this year, plain
and simple.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
The ride is over.

Speaker 4 (21:10):
Yes, you won a super Bowl, Thank you very much.
You got your parade, you got your confetti and your hair.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Pack your bags.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
John Harball, seriously, he's not going towhere, goes tied to Lamar.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
No, he needs to go.

Speaker 4 (21:24):
And if they can look at this season and what's
happened every off season, every postseason has been disappointing with
Lamar and now this year you're not even gonna make
the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
That that's a step back. Him and Mike Tomlin are
very similar places. But the difference is again I think
because he's paired to a quarterback Tomlin, Aaron Rodgers this year,
next to whatever, who knows, he's not tied anything. I
think they're gonna look at it as Lamar. John, it's
a package deal. He ain't going nowhere.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
All right, I'm gonna say this one more prediction for
the NFL year that I've had.

Speaker 5 (21:54):
You know, make it, John Harball will be fired after
the season. Ye all right, that's listen, that's not crazy.
Like I said, him and Tomlin, they've had a great run.
You get fifteen to seventeen years. How she is awful
is off. They're gonna blame it on the injuries. That's
what they're gonna blame it on. Greg Gabriel on the
other side of trending. We'll talk to him in the moment.
Right now, Steven Sager.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Happy Holidays?

Speaker 12 (23:04):
Jas up the same to you guys.

Speaker 6 (23:06):
This is trash Talk Tuesday, so I can talk some
trash as you.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
Guys better bring you better bring it, otherwise your wind
up in the dumpster.

Speaker 6 (23:13):
I'm just saying, Hey, bringing on day already, Gabriel.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
One team that can be talking some trash or the
Chicago Bears, because they got off to that bad start.
I remember they got blowed out by the Lions and
people thought, oh, this is gonna be ugly, and man,
have they turned it around and that game Saturday night
was one for the Ages people. The video out of
Chicago has been incredible. Just talk about the throw Caleb

(23:43):
development and the reaction to that city, because I know
you've seen all the video and all the other stuff.

Speaker 6 (23:49):
Yeah, I mean I live right here. I literally live
right down the street from the Bears facility.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (23:59):
Number one, it was a it was a monkey off
their back. They had to beat Green Bay in Chicago.
They hadn't done it in a while. They beat him
last year in the last game of the season, and
what was just a crazy year with the coaching changes
and everything the players went through. But this was a
huge win for him, and not just because it was

(24:19):
a win. It gave him one and a half game
lead in the NFC North with you know, two games
to go, it almost locks up the division title form
so that and then the way they did it, and
that's not the first time it's happened all year. They've
won six games like that this year.

Speaker 13 (24:36):
You know, they're a.

Speaker 6 (24:37):
Team that just doesn't give up, and that I think
is a testament to Ben Johnson and his coaching staff
and the players buying into him.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
Now.

Speaker 6 (24:46):
You know, I've worked for some good coaches, the best
being Bill for ourselves, and Johnson's got a little.

Speaker 12 (24:52):
He's not as gruff as Bill, but there's a.

Speaker 6 (24:56):
Lot of similarity. And the one thing I liked about
Bills he was very transparent with his players. And that's
what Ben is. Extremely transparent, And even when he's with
the media, he just tells you as it is. There's
no bs. And you know how coaches have coach speak
yeah all the time and really you know, talk a lot,

(25:17):
say a lot of words and don't tell you a thing.
That's not the case with Ben. He tells you something
in every single presser, and he's the same way with
his players, and they really buy into it. I don't
know if you've seen some of the locker room, so.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Yeah, oh absolutely.

Speaker 6 (25:31):
I mean it's almost like a high school locker room.
But that just shows how the players have bought into him.

Speaker 4 (25:38):
Hey, hey, when did you work with Parcels when he's
with the Giants in New York or no?

Speaker 9 (25:43):
After?

Speaker 6 (25:43):
Yeah, in New York eighty four to ninety one.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
Because I was a reporter for the Daily News back
then and I covered the Laws, Taylor and the Giants.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
I was out there during that time, so that's interested.

Speaker 6 (25:55):
I didn't know that, Greg, Okay, Yeah, No, I started
with the Giant INCID eighty four. I was with National
Scouting before that.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
Before that, Buffalo.

Speaker 6 (26:03):
Okay, nice, And so I was with the Giants until
I came here to Chicago in two thousand and one.

Speaker 5 (26:10):
Let me ask you this go back to Ben Johnson,
a pairing with him and Caleb before the season. You
know that was one of the things. Obviously, he took
the job because he knew Caleb would be there. You
mentioned it. He's been hard, he's been vocal, he's been demanding.
But is this the perfect thing for Caleb who is
super talented and maybe can rely on that talent sometimes,
but now getting that fine tuning from Ben Johnson.

Speaker 6 (26:31):
Well, I think if you go back to last year,
he just wasn't coached.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
You know, you ain't lying about that, no doubt about it.

Speaker 6 (26:38):
Right, What the team went through, what he went through
was just abysmal. It's something I have never seen. And
you know, I've been involved in the league since nineteen
eighty one, so you know, I've been around a long time.
I've never seen anything like I saw last year. So
basically it's rookie year all over again. Had to learn
a new system. But one of the reasons, and Ben's

(27:02):
agent is a good friend of mine, one of the
reasons he wanted this job was to work with Caleb.
He thought Caleb was going to be a great talent.
And they're right now. They're joined at the hip, so
they spend a lot of time. Fact, Ben was talking
about it today in the Pressure today he said they
spend hours together every single day, just him and Caleb,

(27:23):
and he said, we know each other very well. He says,
I've gotten to the point where, you know, I know
what he thinks. He knows what I think, and I
think we think about a lot of things the exact
same way. Well, you know, it's just it's an interesting
caring or duo.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
Yeah, no doubt, no doubt about it. How where's this is?
Where's the limit on the Bears?

Speaker 4 (27:49):
I know, just Ben Johnson's first year, uh, you know,
as a head coach, and they're often this they could
when the division sew it up? Can they all make
a deep run? You know with the with the team
that they have put together and these never die attitude,
you know what I mean. Or he's a second year

(28:10):
player who when they get into a bigger game, you know,
things might not work out as well. Can you see
them getting to the super Bowl or to the NFC
Championship game.

Speaker 6 (28:20):
I'm gonna be honest with you, guys. I went into
the season thinking, well, let's hope we get nine. See
they're at eleven, so they've far exceeded my expectations as
a team. But I just think, you know, some of
the better leadership that they have, the players they brought

(28:41):
in Tooney and some of these other guys. Tremaine Edmondson
has been around now for three years, but he was
with a lot of those good Buffalo teams. Some of
these guys in the locker room have just helped the
young players come along. And then the coaching staff is
just so darned you know, there's a lot of there's

(29:02):
a mix of veterans and younger guys, but I think
their ability to teach and to help bring these younger
players around is really just fantastic because there's a lot
of these guys making or being productive our young players
only in the first second year of the league.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
Greg, let me ask you a question. Ben Johnson obviously
came from the Lions. They're not all the way eliminated
a slim chance of making the playoffs. Just what have
you seen there when you lose coordinators? Is that what's
happened to Detroit? Something shift there because it wasn't too
long ago they had the number one seed in the NFC.
Two years ago they were in the NFC Championship game,

(29:41):
and now here it is they might not even be
in a playoffs.

Speaker 6 (29:44):
Yeah. I don't think they want to admit it at
the time, but losing and it wasn't just Ben Johnson ultimately, Glenn, Yeah,
I mean two guys that were really as good as
there is in the league at their position. And not
only they lost some other guys. Some couple guys came
here with them, a couple of guys went to New

(30:04):
York with Glenn, and so, you know, basically they have
a I'm not going to say they have an entirely
new coaching staff, but it's at least fifty percent. And
then you got different people calling the plays I heard.
You know, they hire a new offensive coordinator and they
take the play calling away from a half season at
the middle of the season. So that tells you right there,

(30:25):
this isn't working.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Nope.

Speaker 5 (30:26):
Hey, we got ended there. We appreciate you, Greg Man,
Mary Christy Holidays.

Speaker 2 (30:30):

So.

A couple of weeks ago, when the semi Hall of
Fame ballance came out, you went fine and on about
Eli being so much better than two brief because he
won two Super Bowls versus one. Last week we were
talking about Matthew Stafford isn't as good because he didn't
perform well in the Super Bowl, but he won. All
you cared about, BELI was he won, not for Matthew

(33:51):
Stafford though.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
Hey, you know from New York.

Speaker 9 (35:31):
You know, let me try a new one on you.
You should use maybe do you know the meaning of
the word sugar.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Yeah, he uses that all the time, of course.

Speaker 9 (35:39):
Yeah, but sugar is the NFL rest. I feel like
when I watch a game now, I need to bring
an attorney and a counselor to understand what's going on
and then to help me. When I do, it's getting worse.
It's an insult. I'll just throw out just a few examples.
First of all, they don't call the game properly forward

(36:01):
progress as a joke. You can't advance the ball carrier,
and they allow all kinds of that, but the defense
can't push him back. But this whole thing with the
rest taking over. You know, you obviously saw the two
point conversion in Seattle. Yes, yes, the play's over, no doubt,

(36:24):
they blow the whistle. Nothing to doing, And some Breenie
in New York says, no, no, no.

Speaker 5 (36:30):
Yeah, Jay has had enough of the rest Hollywood in Chicago.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
You're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio. Who you
trash in Hollywood? But that's not in California.

Speaker 12 (36:43):
What a fella, you already know if I'm ripping, I'm trash.
Trash Don Nixon of the Packers. This is the same
guy who made the interception against the Bears two weeks ago.
He was gloating in everything. He got burned twice, got scorched,
battle sah. And this guy didn't answer no questions after
the game or none. Man, that is that is a

(37:03):
bum attitude. That's clownish. And hey, man, go back to
Green Bay where it ain't nothing to do. Man, you
absolutely suck.

Speaker 4 (37:10):
All right, all right, how about MJ and New Orleans?
Real quick, you're in the earty second on sports radio.
Who are you trashing?

Speaker 2 (37:17):
MJ?

Speaker 14 (37:19):
Trashing Coach Dungee's doctor game with NBA Commissioner Adam silver Spoons.
In my opinions, the Association's Athletic Cup that sponsored by Bike.
They missed a huge opportunity to showcase why these a
young ballers that will lay them up in twenty twenty
eight Olympics.

Speaker 12 (37:35):

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
