particular group.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
That's right, thank you, Mark Gunnals Chicken, and he will
be joining us, coming out all right, all right, and
we got shop talk as well, so we got a
lot to get to h In the second hour of
the program, Rob g one guy uh when we talk
about the upcoming season, and he's put together his resume
(02:46):
is ridiculous. Should have wont his third MVP. They kind
of jobbed him. Was pretty bad, but we all know how.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Good he is.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Uh, And there is some pressure on one Lamar Jackson,
isn't it?
Speaker 5 (03:01):
Rob g Absolutely. Now We're about fifteen minutes away from
kickoff of the Philadelphia Eagles defending their Super Bowl crown
here against the Cowboys. The problem is that the popular
pick for popular people to win the Super Bowl this
year is Lamar Jackson and Baltimore Ravens. You guys have
both gone on record as saying you have the Ravens
in the super Bowl. Now, granted, Calvin's got the lines
(03:23):
beating him, but Rob's got the Ravens in the super Bowl.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
You both have him there.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
And when Lamar met with the media yesterday, even though
he's gone on record and saying since he's been drafted
that he's going to bring a Super Bowl back to Baltimore,
he's not ready to talk about it yet for this season.
Take a listen.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
We gotta win our games. Can't go to the super
Bowl without making it to the playoffs, you know, So
he got to focus on Buffalo right now. We can't
Pete too soon, can't Pete. It's extremely early to be
thinking about the super Bowl, you know.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
So you guys think that Lamar maybe not cracking under
the pressure, But do you think he's feeling it and
that's what he want to talk about it anymore?
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Got Yeah, I don't think it's that.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
I just think that you know, at this point and
you know, all the accolades and all the big games,
and he just has to win.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
And I like this.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
They don't need to be talking about. He knows why
he's out here and why he's trying to play. And
I'm not making any excuses. He had a chance last
year right in Buffalo. Mark Andrews dropped the ball. And
if he throws that ball one hundred times, how many
times you're gonna catch it exact? And he dropped it,
and he dropped There was a moment there that there
could have been a comeback. Remember you had to slop
(04:28):
the first half, and he marched him down in a
minute in twenty seconds and could have tied the game
and had a chance there and it didn't happen. But
there's nothing else to talk about. We all know how
great he is as a quarterback. We all know how
great the Ravens are They're loaded. Look at their roster
for the next two years. They're loaded. They're like that
(04:51):
baked potato Montzi had earlier.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
It's loaded.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
And there's nothing else to say other than what Kelvin,
go out and do it.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
I'm good with this.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
So you know who the way we were talking about it,
the way you phrased it to me, Rob g you said,
is there anybody under more pressure this season than Lamar?
And because of everything Rob just said, for the most part,
we're on the same page. So I'm gonna work backwards.
Lamar is in a unique situation where he's like the
football version of Allen Iverson. I think if he doesn't win,
(05:24):
people are still gonna be like, Yo, you know who
was my favorite to watch period?
Speaker 3 (05:27):
You know who was unique period?
Speaker 4 (05:28):
You know who was just different, just his own he
was just the way he did it, the style, kind
of like a Michael Vick.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
People still love talking about Michael Vick. And he's done.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
He did one third of what Lamar has already done.
So I think he has the MVPs, he's got the
great record, he's got all the stats, and I still
believe Lamar Jackson is gonna get one eventually. He's too good,
he's still too young. His teams are always built and stacked.
Lamar will get one. But if I answered the way
we were talking about it earlier, Rob G who's under
(05:57):
more pressure? I actually believe it's Patrick Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes,
he's a made man. Really, I'll tell you why. Yeah,
I want to hear this. Patrick Mahomes is under more
pressure because I sit next to somebody who likes to
bring up the last two seasons for him validly completely
get it. You and I both you know, you know
I picked the Chiefs to go to the super Bowl. But
what did I always say? I agree with you. Something
(06:18):
doesn't look right. He's not quite where he used to be.
Patrick Mahomes has not been Patrick Mahomes like for the
most part the last two seasons. Patrick Mahomes the first
four or five seasons. Who were we saying he could
be the greatest of all time, that he could be,
that he could be better than Tom or he could
be who's on his way?
Speaker 3 (06:37):
He ain't even Joe Montana. These conversations, I hear you
you know what I mean? Like it killed me, Like
he was ready to be Tom Brady.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
And that's a fair point, which is why I think
he's under more pressure because Lamar Jackson kind of put
himself in this position where he's just so unique. Patrick
Mahomes has put himself in position well, he could be
competing for the greatest, and if he keeps stacking up
seasons like we've seen the last two, his chances are dwindling,
if not gone. So I think it's back for him
to get back to being Patrick Mahomes. That doesn't need
(07:06):
to win a super Bowl, No, But if he comes back,
you know, thirty five touchdowns, only eight interceptions and looking like,
all right, that's the Patrick Mahomes we know, maybe he's
an MVP candidate, then he gets right back on track.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
See I don't know about that.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
And I'm gonna say this, and I get you with
the numbers and just looking better, but he could have.
We saw Tom Brady go nine years without winning.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Right.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
If he doesn't win, she like your start and your finish,
people can look at you and go, yeah, Pat was,
But then guess what Lamar won those three You know
what I mean?
Speaker 3 (07:40):
During that time when you're not winning, it's important for him.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
Lamar is in such a unique like we all feel
like Lamar or at least mostly I know you and
I do. Lamar's gonna get one. He's gonna be one
of the best ever. He was one of He's gotta win.
He does have to win. But I don't feel like
there's this weird pressure. I feel like Patrick Mahomes can't
put up another season like that like last season. And
let's say they only go eleven and six or ten
and seven, because now he's gonna We're gonna start again.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
We know his greatness in his career.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
See see I think where where where I disagree is
that window doesn't stay open forever. You know, you got Derrek,
Henry's there, you got a loaded roster, Like at some
point people want to get paid. They're moving on, like
these next two years. If they were able to win
this year, they could win another one. Say they just
won back to back. Now you're a made man. Now
(08:29):
you're you got your MVPs. You want you finally broke through.
You maybe win a second one like like there's all
that stuff, And I think that's why the time is
of the f is time of the essence. It's time
to get there and nobody wants to talk about it anymore.
That's why I think that the next two years, you
don't know how long you gonna have Derek Henwick.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
You don't know how long you're gonna have some of
these other pieces and star players.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
They got enough to get there and they don't have
to worry about their kicker, worrying about the massage scandal
and missing Bill because he cost him like three.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Games last year. He did. But so, this is what
I mean. Patrick Mahomes is three and.
Speaker 4 (09:07):
Two, Pirates up five nothing real? No, come on, doc,
this is wow. Patrick Mahomes is three and two in
Super Bowls. If he were to win, let's say he
wins this year. Now he's four and two. We're starting
to really, really, really talk about how Grady is to
separate himself. And to your point, he can't have a
Lap seven eight nine years without one because there's no
guarante he's gonna play as long as time Bray Tom
(09:28):
Brady played this forty five. So if Patrick Mahomes, who
will be turning thirty, plays another eight nine years and
he wins one or two more to me, he is
now cementing himself in the conversation happens if he doesn't win.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
But that's what I'm saying. That's why.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
So for me reading it as is anyone under more
pressure this season than Lamar, I believe it's him to
right the ship. Ron Parker's like people like you, justifiably
even Kelvin. I'll come on, everybody, Yo, sums off, he
ain't right if he looks like he did the last
two seasons, and we'll start to question was it Tyreek
hel was it the younger and better Travis Kelce? Was
(10:03):
it Eric b Enemy right, will start to kind of
be able to pick and Parson figure out, well, dang,
what's going on? But if he comes out gives us
thirty five touchdowns, eight nine interception even ten, but the
team goes, you know, like I said, thirteen and four
in the right back where they need to be an
AFC Championship game and even if they lose, but like
that's Patrick Mahomes, then he's good. But I think he
has to get back because if he has three years
(10:25):
rob where you could say Aaron Rodgers had the same numbers,
and again that's not good for him. Three years of
just being you know, eh, No, I get that. I
just think Lamar's gonna lamar, But you got it.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
But it's still your window, Like you don't know how
long the coach is gonna be there. You don't know
how long, Like like you have a team. That's why
everybody's picking you. They're not picking you just because they
like they look at that team and then look at
that roster and say it's loaded, like and that's what
a heavy AFC. Okay, that's with the Chiefs, that's with
the Bills, that's with a heavy AFC. That's with Joe
(11:01):
Burrow and the Bengals. Like though those there's four teams
right there, okay, you know what I mean, Like like
their team's there and you're still looking at them, going, man,
if they do everything right?
Speaker 3 (11:11):
Are you kidding? Let me throw one at mister.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
Out like the pregame all this it's a lot. And
that's why did you know Brendan Graham?
Speaker 3 (11:18):
Are you ready? Gitate it all? Because I can't think
of his how long he's career? Like were you here yet?
Speaker 5 (11:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (11:23):
I know, rob G.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
Let me let me go for Rob G and ask
you a question, and robb G you can be in
on those too. I'm'm reversing the Roles here, let me
ask you what's more? What will be more disappointing or
more like juicy for our business?
Speaker 3 (11:38):
If you will.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Patrick Mahomes say, they even make a wild carp but
they're ten and seven, barely make it. He throws the
same sea twenty five touchdowns, thirteen interceptions, and looks even
slightly worse than last year.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
And obviously they don't win fifteen games.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
Or Lamar gets in the postseason pretty much same season stats,
but just doesn't get to the Super Bowl. Let's say
losing the ASC to the Baltimo Buffalo. What would be more? Oh,
what's going on? The juice your headline for us be
my homes That's what I mean.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
And it's very similar to to make an NBA reference,
it was better business for us that the Lakers got
embarrassed the way they did against Minnesota than it was
that SGA finally broke through one.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
There's no doubt, that's all. That's all I'm saying, Rob
is that. But I still think the three seasons a
Patrick like that, but.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
For Lamar like trying to finally break through, trying to
get that monkey off your back. He had a great
year last year. Okay, like, how many years you're gonna
have that? Do you know what I mean? And you
have the weapons and Derrick Henry and all these other things.
I just think that at some point you got to
break through. You win that one, and then you could
(12:46):
everything else happens. And I just think this is the year.
A lot of people feel good about the Ravens, and
a lot of people are picking the Ravens, and rightfully so.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
No listen, as long as he is healthy and Lamar
for the next six seven years, they have a chance
to compete. And I believe you and I both he's
gonna get one. But I think Patrick Mahomes cannot be
mid or he's okay and the team falter. I think
it's important for him to get back to a super
Bowl winning the game on because he's on track to
be the Goat and he needs this season to get
(13:13):
back on track, all.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
Right, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Is there
is any player under more pressure entering this season than
Lamar Jackson? If so, who, We'll continue that conversation next
with you. It is the odd couple on a TV
theme song Thursday, Rob Parker Kelvin Washington right here on

Speaker 7 (13:38):

Speaker 4 (15:18):
Robin not talking about anybody under more pressure in the
NFL than Lamar Jackson. I totally get the sentiment, but
I feel like Lamar, I'm gonna you can get a pass.
I say it's actually Patrick Mahomes, believe it? Or now
you say it's Lamar? What's say you? Eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox?
Speaker 3 (15:32):
What we got?
Speaker 1 (15:32):
Let's start with Andre in Massachusetts. You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
What's up, Dre Yo.
Speaker 9 (15:39):
Hew you doing, thanks for taking a call. No two
ways about it. Lamar Jackson obviously and has the most
pressure on him to break through and win his super Bowl.
Always a bridesmaid, never a bride and he had the
overarching regular season Okay, so he has this Peyton Manning
phenomenon where he's a regular season MVP, has all these statistics,
but no championships. And I will take it a step further.
(16:02):
The name that has to be mentioned is a Dan Marino. Okay,
somebody got there early on.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
The second year, yeah, second year in the league.
Speaker 10 (16:10):
Yep, and was never able to get back.
Speaker 9 (16:12):
But Lamar, he has to get into the big game itself.
He has to usurp Patrick Mahomes. And it's there's more
pressure on him than Josh Allen because he's been a
force for longer than Josh Allen. And frankly, the Ravens
have put a better team around them, whereas Buffalo has
gotten better by some traction losing digs. All right, the Ravens,
they just keep adding talent up. So he has the
(16:33):
ability to do it. He has all the intangibles, but
with him, he has to have his best.
Speaker 10 (16:38):
Games in those AFT championship.
Speaker 9 (16:40):
Divisional rounds where that's where he has blinked in the past. No, No,
that's when you need your MVP performances, save one or
two of them from the regular season. Technical.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Hey, appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
God, I wonder if we get some Josh Allen calls,
because obviously he would be in the mix for that.
Uh man, get take some more calls. But it looks
like somebody's down on the already and that's a real
like without knowing it's a real injury.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
He took his helmet off.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
He's cursed and he said, but what the blank you
mean it like this?
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Okay, it's all.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Right, right off the back.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Dennis in Seattle, you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
What's up, Dennis?
Speaker 11 (17:17):
Hey, Actually it was Darius, what's up?
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Sorry about that?
Speaker 11 (17:22):
Yeah, it's okay, it's okay. You know, I don't disagree
with what people are saying, but I think that we
need to segment the types of pressure that people are under.
I think for the season, looking at the end of
the season. Sure, Lamar Jackson, Africk Mahomes and and Josh Allen.
I think all for different reasons. And I feel justin
Herbert in there too, all for different reasons. And Dak
(17:44):
Prescott's another one you might look at. For all those
guys have season pressure, end of season pressure, right, what's
gonna be the end of result when we look back
in February. But game to game, nobody's gonna have more
pressure than Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
Nobody call abouts on them the Giants.
Speaker 11 (18:04):
No, But listen, here's the reason why the perception is this.
Speaker 10 (18:09):
If he loses his.
Speaker 11 (18:10):
Starting spot to Jackson Dart by not getting off to
a hot start, he's done. And every time he throws
an interception, and he will throw one, I mean, he's
not perfect. So he throws an interception, he fumbles or
misses a receiver or something happens. At the end of
the game, you're gonna hear these chants because the expectation
has been built to to to put in Jackson Dart.
(18:33):
So game the game pressure, nobody has more than Russell Wilson.
But in the season pressure, the guys that I mentioned
are all on in the same boat and different for different,
different reasons. So that's that's what I think, all right.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
All right, yeah, I don't Russell Wilson.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
I think Russell Wilson was Russell Wilson appreciates you calling
for that, Darius. Nobody on Earth thought that was going
to be Russell Wilson for this cont and we already have.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
A controversy already in the game. And and I you know, we.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Got to play.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
It has a Danny Thomas spit take basically on Dark Prescott.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
He spit on them play. It wasn't even like like
after a rough and tumble plate.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
He was in the huddle, this is this is what
And you could see it in the replay.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
You saw the spit it was it looked like it
might have been gum. Like it looked like gum.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
If you look at it again, it looked because the
way he Yeah, so we got players getting carted off
and player getting ejected in six seconds of game play.
Speaker 12 (19:35):
Yeah, I don't know if that was gum.
Speaker 10 (19:37):
I don't know if.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
That was kind of that's just I mean, it doesn't
matter you spit gum or the streets so quickly.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
That's why I think it's gum.
Speaker 12 (19:46):
But wouldn't it have shot more as substance behind it,
like something that would have gone He.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Kind of like he didn't want to like, I think
it was spit because I saw Dak pull a letter
out of his back pocket and tried to get it wet,
you know what I'm saying. So it was because you know,
I know it was gum because the way Dak pointed
like if it was spit, spit, Dak would have swung on.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
I see what you're saying. Dak pointed to it like
you see that to the rest, but literally like nothing
had happened.
Speaker 12 (20:12):
It was the kickoff, and in fact, Van Sumaran, the
full back for the Eagles, was being looked at, so
nothing was going on. He walked over to a cowboy
huddle and went up to Dak Prescott's face where the
referee was standing two feet away. So I don't understand.
And there's thirty eight seconds into the game.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
That sounds Yeah, that was just weird.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
That was weird.
Speaker 6 (20:36):
There was ever a bad omen about you not going
to repeat this.
Speaker 4 (20:39):
Yellow face two plays injury, which not you know, definitely
got caught it off, So I told you it was serious. Yeah,
And he took He took his helmet off immediately immediately
just stared in the space.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
YEP.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
They looked at his knee.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
It looked like, yeah, like it might even been his
like shit.
Speaker 6 (20:54):
Like you're right because.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
The way he fell and he mediate.

What you say about that Tyson? And who is it?
Speaker 12 (21:12):
Mayweather and Mike Tyson.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Here's the reason I don't want to see that fight.
Speaker 10 (21:16):
No more pictures of Tyson's big booty.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
Well you know what we saw, we didn't and I
ain't talking about the player.
Speaker 8 (21:30):
Yeah, thank you man.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
The Cowboys about to go over there.
Speaker 4 (21:35):
Yeah, offense, We knew offenses pretty much, you know, and
so the flag used to go let them one and
that identified it, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (21:45):
Right away? Just toss it over the man.
Speaker 4 (21:48):

Speaker 2 (22:25):
It's time for the college kids here on the odd
Come a look at this week's college football through the
eyes of the young and inexperience. If they swear they know,
college ball takes it into the Yeah right, fundamentals are
gonna show up. Are there? Take sophomore or graduation worth it?
Robin Calvin book aside, Bring them on.
Speaker 5 (22:48):
That's right, college kids here on Fox mort Rad or
the Maiden Voyage, will we help you break down all
of the biggest college football headlines heading into the weekend.
In order to do so properly on the first go round,
we had to bring in a real special guest media personality.
You know him, you love him, Mark Donalds Mark say
what's up to him?
Speaker 10 (23:05):
Hey, how you guys doing what's up?
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Mark? What's up? Mark Man? Today? But we're very happy
to have you on the show.
Speaker 10 (23:11):
Love it, Yay, Hey, I'm excited. Man, appreciate you guys
having me.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Hey, welcome to the show, brother, looking forward to it now.
Speaker 5 (23:18):
In true odd a couple fashion, Mark's got three half
bait college football ideas here, involve in the Big ten.
We're gonna let him set it up here and uh,
you guys decide whether or not it's sophomoric or graduation worthy.
Speaker 6 (23:32):
Take number one here.
Speaker 5 (23:34):
As you know, the number one team, alant Ohio State
Buck guys are hosting Grambling this weekend. Why I'm so,
and Mark is saying, Hey, we got to stop with
these FBS FCS matchups ahead of this week's game.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
Mark, explain yourself.
Speaker 10 (23:49):
It's a waste of time. It's a waste of everybody's time.
I mean, if you're a sports gambler, this game is
not even on the book. You can't even been on
this game fight minus seventy what's the point research? So,
since nineteen seventy eight, there's been over three thousand games
played between FCS schools and SBS bools. Who know how
(24:10):
many times the SCS schools are one the percentage of
it only seven? Get rid of it, all.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
Right, you know what I'm gonna say, Mark, I'm gonna
say your graduation worthy because I'm with you, and I
get why Grambling's gonna play the game. They get a
big fat check from Ohio State. Right, it's good for
their coffers. Why don't you just have these big schools
put in Apollo money for these other schools, right, but
don't play these games, play real games against real competition.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
So Mark, I'm with you. It's a waste of time.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
More people would be watching the Battle of the bands
uh in that football game rather.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Than the game. And you said the biggest the magic word.
You can't even better on it.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
Not even Vegas is gonna allow you to put any
money on it. They're not gonna lose any money on
Grambling play at Ohio State.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
That's sophomore can I'm gonna tell you why.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
First of all, you know how much football you're about
to see with Ohio State.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
They're getting ready to.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Go to the college football playoffs, and then they're gonna
add games. They gotta go this round to this round
to this round. It's gonna be twenty teams in the
college football before you playoffs, before you know it.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
So let them have one game.
Speaker 4 (25:18):
Let these kids say Jerome on TV. Let them see
Jerome playing on TV against Ohio State for once in
Jerome's life. Daggit, let them have a moment. And and
you know what else? You said?
Speaker 3 (25:30):
They win about seven percent? Clip, Well, daggett, we got
a chance.
Speaker 5 (25:35):
All right, Here we go take number two Big ten football,
Mark Gunnell's college kids here on the eye couple. As
you guys know, the big game of the weekend, it's
about as city soft schedule. But the game get big
game this weekend on Saturday is none other than Michigan
traveling in Norman take on Oklahoma. And Mark says, hey,
flat out, don't worry about the points. Michigan is gonna
(25:57):
upset Oklahoma on the road. Mark playing yourself.
Speaker 10 (26:01):
Yeah, I like mission in this game because I like
their freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood. Now, I know, like you,
only your freshman only had one start against New Mexico.
I get that, but I think they're hiding a lot
of stuff in that game. One thing that stood out
to me is that he did not run the ball
one time. They had no design run for him in
that game. I think, I think, especially in this game,
(26:23):
was gonna be a low scoring affairs gonna be really
hardcore physical matchup. I think using his legs the difference
in this game. And I know Oklahoma has a nice
veteran quarterback and John Mattier he came from Washington State,
but if you get pressure on him, he's a different quarterback.
Speaker 11 (26:40):
I'm reading the numbers for you.
Speaker 10 (26:42):
Under pressure in Washington State, he has a completion percentage
only forty seven percent, only three hundred and seventy nine yards,
four touchdowns, and three picks. But when he's not under pressure,
he's amazing. Sixty eight percent of his passes are completed
and he threw for eight touchdowns and over at time
thousand yards. But he is getting pressure on the quarterback
(27:03):
and using bright Underwood's legs and this matchup, boy, you.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
Just got your cap, and guy, that's graduation worthy. Let
me tell you why. Right there, you just mentioned Underwood,
got his feet under him, got his first game in,
and he'd even show all of the tricks. And Michigan
finally has a quarterback that they can say, hey, you
know what, if we need to get to put it
in his arms, we can do that. JJ McCarthy is
as great as his record was. He wasn't that kind
of quarterback, and now I think they got that guy
(27:27):
with Underwood. Also, the defense is gonna do what Michigan
defense has done now for the last five six years,
and the ability to run the ball as well. They're
gonna get the job done. I think it'll be a
close one, but they'll edge out Oklahoma.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
That is sophomoric because I don't know.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
Is Michigan cheating in Oklahoma and Norman win?
Speaker 3 (27:47):
I thought they stopped cheating. Once they stopped cheating, they
couldn't win. I'm not buying it.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
Mark, that would be a big win for this Michigan
team with a rookie quarterback to go to Norman really
and win that game, that would be a huge upset.
I don't see it. I think Michigan is going to
have a couple of years where they're just okay that
that championship and all the scandal that went with them.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
That's going to change the trajectory of the Michigan Wolverine.
Speaker 5 (28:18):
All right, last one college kids with Mark Gunnold's here
on the eye couple.
Speaker 6 (28:21):
This one hurts me because I'm a UCLA guy.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
You're a yucler, yes, but uh Marcus saying with his
chest that by the end of this season, in some
form or fashion, current UCLA and football coach Deshaun Foster
is going to be out of a job.
Speaker 6 (28:37):
Mark tell us why.
Speaker 10 (28:39):
And I hate to say this because he's a brother.
You know, you want him to do well, have success
at a prestidious program like UCLA, put more so for basketball.
But you get the point. But I mean, you're one
win five and eight, Okay, you're one, I get it.
But you get smoked by Utah forty three to ten.
The spray was only what five and a half or
(29:00):
something like that. You move by thirty plus and look
at their schedule. They play a tough for them. UNLB
is the only fair about like three points. I believe
you look got to play Penn State, Michigan State, Maryland, Indiana,
Ohio State, Nebraska, USC. I mean, this thing could really unravel.
And after that game against Utah he said that we
(29:21):
were close. That was like his main quote. We were
quose what's thirty?
Speaker 3 (29:28):
Mark?
Speaker 1 (29:29):
You are graduation worthy, no doubt about it.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
That schedule will chew you up.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
And you know what happens in college football nowadays, there's
too much money at stake. Kelvin and there's no five
year plan. If you don't get something going like really quick,
they're looking for somebody else. And it's just the nature
of college football and what's at stake and the uh
the pressures that come with it.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Lincoln Riley at USC another down year.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Like don't watching seat despite all the money, he will
be in trouble too. So if he's If that's the case,
there's no way that there might not be a change
at UCLA with Foster.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Yep, you're graduating, Mark.
Speaker 4 (30:17):
Let me tell you why everything you just mentioned the score,
I didn't know if I was looking at you n
C or u C l A with that forty three
to ten beat down. And also let me add to
this wishing Deshaun Foster the best you's like he's mentioned
you know what I'm saying, brothers don't get to me
the opportunities, But dag it. He not only loses the game,
Mark and Rob, he always loses the press conference.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
Remember his first one.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
His first one was just awful. And then you say
that's embarrassing, But it's his first one, so I understand.
I give him a pass. Then later this is awe man,
I was just nervous.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
Aw season.
Speaker 4 (30:46):
You can't say you're nervous aw season. And then he
comes out like you said, man, we're close, close close,
you look like Bill Belichick. So yeah, I just think
he doesn't elicit the confidence that you need right now,
would which is just appointing.
Speaker 3 (31:01):
But you know, hey, maybe we're wrong.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
All right, Thank you, miss sir, Mark Doronald job, Mar
Donald's great job for your debut.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
More man, I appreciate you, Thank you.
Speaker 10 (31:16):
I appreciate you. Guys.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
That's right, And we'll hear from Mark every other week.
Speaker 4 (31:20):
And uh on college kids, got somebody else coming up
next week, looking forward to that.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
All right, there you have a college kid, Dave.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
But of the college kids with the couple Rob and
Kelvin on the way, we got a little shop talk
for you, and we'll see what else is happened in
this game. Looks like Eagles might be in positioned to score.

Speaker 4 (32:04):

never watched it, like, never even met it, not once.
All right, Rob, but you were oh but you were contestant.

Speaker 3 (32:18):

some days. Your body is just like knowing. On those days.
Luckily there's a lead. One pill. Lead provides up to
twelve hours of pain relief, so you keep moving, use
as directed. But they're fighting this game. It's just a
(32:43):
lot going on in this game already. Man, a couple
of touchdowns. It's gonna be one of those Sydney rain.
I was called for rain. I thought of raining down
punch two seconds ago.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
Shot talk.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Ain't nobody, ain't nimping to bompshop. You know that. Ain't
nobody you were talking about whoever?
Speaker 3 (32:58):
Whatever you want to.
Speaker 9 (33:00):
In the boss.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
It's shop talking.
Speaker 5 (33:03):
I try to shop talk here in the odd Couple segment,
we talk about something happened outside of the world is sports.
It's very riveting because it's even better than this game
right now Eagles injuries. Are you trying to imply that
you'd rather watch a football game to listen to the
odd couple?
Speaker 4 (33:19):
Especially Right's ears perked up for this week a shop talk.
Speaker 5 (33:24):
The story comes to its courtesy of television. As you
all know, I know, Rob didn't miss this. The latest
cast for Dancing with the Stars Season thirty four is out.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Now you know what I do know? Who's one of
the contestants.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
Okay, all right, this is probably not the one that
you know, but one of the contestants that they are
putting on a lot of billboards hoping this is going
to drive ratings is none other than Boy Meets World
starlet Danielle Fischer aka to Panga from Boy Meets World.
So guys, with that in my thank you? Okay, here's
(34:01):
the question, Oh boy, when you were a youngin was
your childhood crush on film or television?
Speaker 10 (34:09):

Speaker 3 (34:09):
This is easy. Just go well, dang, what whoa We're
going back to the forties.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
No, we're gonna say Betty Davis, Belly Davis, Kelly White,
Betty White. Yeah, when she was fifty nine, she was
so cute. No relegating this to TV only, right, you
know what it is?
Speaker 6 (34:26):
Yeah, let's try if you can't TV.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
You know what is seriously.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Thelma from Good Time, from at Times like Delmo, the
tight jeans like she was cute, she Thelma was it?
Speaker 3 (34:42):
I remember watching me, yes when I was in high school,
grade school? Grade school? Am I right? Delma was a was.
I was gonna say something, but I think I'm gonna
change my mind. Give me the money shot. I love
Thelmo and Good Times. Yeah, I'm not mad at that,
not surely from what's happening, but Thelma, all right, I'm
going with Saved by the Bells, Lark Voorhees.
Speaker 6 (35:05):
Night, whoa turtle.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
Least the turtle? Let's go what? You don't even know
who Lark Varhe's? I do I know that show? What

Speaker 4 (35:13):

black one, Whitewash. Yeah, you know I was talking about
the Black.
Speaker 3 (35:25):

black Girl.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
Come on, that's that's what I would really was Larkin
l Orson.
Speaker 3 (35:33):

Speaker 4 (35:35):
First of all, I did not disrespect your Thelma. I
thought them wasn't mad if you just mad Becustelma lived
in the projects. That's all in the words of juvenile
and them giving me a project chick. Yeah me uh hoo,

But I if I go back, I think I when
I was little, I like Jonathan Taylor Thomas.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
What's that house improvement?
Speaker 12 (36:14):
He was in home improvement? Like the Voice, he was
in The Lion King, and I think Pinocchio and other stuff.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
For you to be thinking you liked him, you named
his whole time, No.
Speaker 12 (36:23):

It makes sense.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
Okay, I like that for you, eld.
Speaker 1 (37:22):
I will say, that's a good sanitized What are you
talking about?
Speaker 3 (37:26):
What who you got?
Speaker 6 (37:28):
I had a good call.
Speaker 5 (37:29):
I will say for seventh han't actually like the middle
sister more than stop neverly Mitchell.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
She was the one.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
But for surprisingly, this is how I know that. I'm
getting back out to the cookout.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
Okay, who was I know? I know who it is? Close?
Oh the sister Banks? Hey Hill, I didn't even know her.
I didn't know the actress. I just knew Hillary Banks.
That character.
Speaker 4 (37:52):
Really I'm not beautiful. She could take care of me
because I'm not mad at that now I got a sleeper.
Now this black car be on another level for you, Robberie.
If you pull this one out. And I don't even
know her name, let me go look her up real quick.

show Parenthood?
Speaker 6 (38:13):
Yes, she was.
Speaker 4 (38:14):
The daughter on the TV show there. Uh that was
with Robert Towns and that was the name of his show.
And I'm about to find that her name. But yeah,
she uh, she was on that list too back then.
But I'm impressed with you. Yeah, Hillary was Hillary is
like we caught on later like.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
You know what, uh huh Hillary?
Speaker 1 (38:33):
How about Oh did we going back to Marianne or
uh Ginger Ginger.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
Like those two were. There were a lot of people
like growing up with marrying Ginger.
Speaker 4 (38:45):
Yeah, when I was hanging out, you know, with my
pops if you know what I mean, right, just hanging out.
I wasn't born, Rob, I didn't have a boy crush
on him. I was chilling with Pops, if you know
what I mean.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
I wasn't even born.
Speaker 1 (38:54):
Yeah, I'm just saying, but that was for you, was
Lovey Howell. You know I was in a love you
at that time too, you know, Kelly Bundy and all
key Kelly Bundy was
Speaker 3 (39:07):
