Speaker 3 (02:36):
Kelvin had the bounce, but did come in to celebrate
our one year anniversary.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
To some believe aby how fast time goes.

Speaker 5 (02:43):
It's crazy. Congratulations on that do anything for a year
is a big deal.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
So and one year for us and seven years for
the show come pretty incredible. But we got some football
to talk about. Somebody who you know really well, Lamar
Jackson and Rob g We talked about the other night
yesterday how he passed Aaron Rodgers for the greatest UH

(03:09):
passer rat, which is an incredible thing. I mean, it
really is insane for a guy that can't pass the
ball right, for a guy who Bill Polian, who's in
the Hall of Fame, GM said that he should go
go off. He knows I'm not. Everybody got bad takes, okay,
but that was a really bad take. I just didn't
like it. And I remember me and Chris got into

(03:30):
a He didn't argument about it because Chris didn't see
anything wrong with it, And I was like, dude, no,
that that you.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
Don't ask people. That's not his position.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Why does he have to go and give up his
position when this guy I just didn't buy into it
and I didn't like that take whatsoever.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
But Rob G, the numbers.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Are just eye popping for one Lamar Jackson, especially the
last twenty games.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
They're They're ridiculous is the best word to describe. Well.

Speaker 6 (03:56):
First, let's start off with Sunday Sunday against Cleveland. Through
four touchdowns right in the process, became just the seventh
quarterback in NFL history have at least two touchdown passes
and a passer rating of ninety or higher in ten
consecutive games. Every other guy on that lives is a
Hall of Famer. That's number one, number two. In the
last twenty games, Rob, as you mentioned, it's getting pretty ridiculous,

(04:17):
all right. It's completing sixty seven percent of his passes,
twenty seven passing yards, one thousand and thirty three rushing yards,
fifty seven touchdowns against four picks to.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Stop till fifty seventh to four.

Speaker 6 (04:34):
With a passer rating of one twenty five point one.
But the big headline in this one is a gains.
You guys mentioned Lamar Jackson, not known historically as a
passer right now, the commentary about him coming out of college.
After Sunday that four touchdown no pick performance against Cleveland,
Lamar Jackson is officially now the NFL's all time career

(04:55):
leader in passer rating one oh two point sixty five.
He just a clipped Rob's favorite quarterback, Aaron freaking Rogers.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
And we talked about this too.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
This past year, his quarterback rating right was the fourth
greatest for.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
A regular season.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Aaron Rodgers has two, Peyton Manning has one, and Lamar
has one. Think about that. We talked about that, and
the guy didn't win the MVP. Somehow that guy didn't
win the MVP. How in the world did that guy
not win the MVP? Absolutely ridiculous. But you know you've
been saying this from day one.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
I know you have. You're not surprised by not at all.
And the thing is that was my whole thing early.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
I remember when I was coming on as a guest
on you guys this show, when Chris was here, and
I was just trying to break down the You know
a lot of people talking about his proficiency at throwing
the ball, which I was like, or even being able
to read defenses, and I was like, dude, he played
in a pro style offense since he was a freshman
in college.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
He played on the coach Patrino.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
By Petrino is a highly skilled offensive guy that runs
no NFL type of stuff, and so I knew he
could consume it. I knew he could process, and I
knew he could throw from being there and seeing him
in camp. And so when that narrative, that narrative was
out there, man, it really got under my skin and
I was gonna be out there and on any.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Platform that I could.

Speaker 5 (06:20):
And that's not the case. The guy can play. And
so to see where he is now and to see
how effortless it is for him to go out there
and play.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
That's the perfect play the quarterback position, right but that
but that's the word effortless. And I remember, and rob g,
I've been talking about this frame in this for a while.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
Okay, was it two Christmases ago? Not remember?

Speaker 3 (06:44):
They beat they bludget the Niners on a Christmas night.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
He threw a ball.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
I'll never forget like to the side of the end zone,
like only in one spot that it could have been
thrown in, And I just thought myself, effortless, effortless, just
like click at the risks flick.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
I was like, are you kidding me? And can like
I just Rob.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
It really irked me early on, and Rob g knows
this when I whenever we talk about Lamar like it's
it's obviously it's personal because I know I know him.
But even if I didn't know him, and now like
watching him and seeing him play the quarterback position and
to think that, you know, even coming into.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
The year, he was like what third or fourth?

Speaker 5 (07:26):
He was fourth on that list, Like, I get it,
the other guys are good too, but this guy is
on the streak that we've never seen before. And the
way he's throwing the ball in the way he's reading defenses,
and the way that offenses operating. Now even now he
could he has more control of it. He's CTV.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
This is what I was telling people about. This is
why I'm not a red zone guy.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
I want to watch him play.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
I don't want to see when he's only in the
I want to watch the entire game.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Why would you not.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Want to watch Lamar Jackson play football. I want to
watch every single moment.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
He's the best football player in the league, period. And
here's the even quarterback player. Here's the other thing.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
It ain't gonna take much to vote him over a
lot of players. Okay, because once he wins that one
super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
All he needs is one.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
He has to devalidate the whole thing. But he has
everything else you need, all the numbers, all the other stuff.
And then once he gets that one and I say win,
he's too good that he's not going to win. He
is going to win. He's not like when he's I
don't know he's gonna win.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
Well, if his coach doesn't take if its coach doesn't
mess that up, we'll talk about that later.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Hey, what did I say, rob g about John Harball.
If his coach doesn't doesn't mess it up, Dude, I've
said it. I think he should be fired because they can't.
They can't, they can't hold on anything.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
Yeah, it's at a point like, Okay, we know that
every time in every big game something happens something only
but that's a lot of that have to do it
coaching and being prepared for those moments.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
There is, but but he is a marvel to watch, Like,
there aren't that many players who you just want to like,
you know when they do those ISO cams.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
Or just want the camera on him.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Yeah, like the movements, Hey put the camera on me, like,
like he is one of those guys.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
Rob He is dropping back, he is running around in
the backfield like he's playing pop born in football against
grown men.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
It's insane to me. I played the game.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
I've never seen anybody toy with the fenders the way
that he does. When when the play's not there, there's
nobody else. I mean, Josh Allen is up there as
far as when the play is not when the play's
broken down, and Patrick Mahomes too, but Lamar when it's
broken down, he can do things the other guys can't do.
It's crazy, it really is.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Rob g. You you've been You're on the Lamar bandwagon? Right, yeah?

Speaker 6 (09:53):
It will get credit for that one. You want to
ring me about the Baker Mayfield take early on Lamar Jackson, Right,
you are, No, He's awesome. And we talked about this
maybe a week and a half ago, and we talked
about it before the show on the text chain. I'm
with you, Robert, I think whenever he gets that once
you got to win.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
Two or three.

Speaker 6 (10:12):
Once he gets one, there's gonna be some very uncomfortable
conversations about where he ranks all.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Because his resume, his ridica is incredible. It's ridiculous, it
is all. It's just missing one thing. It's missing that.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
And you know you don't, like you say, rob g
he don't have to win three in a row. For
once he wins one, and god forbid once he wins one.
You know what I mean, Like we never know you
know how to win. Yeah, once you win one, like
it could be a run. But I'm saying he just
needs to win that one, and then you will start
to look at all these other quarterbacks and people because
the numbers don't lie.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Top four all time for a season.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Yeah, uh, passer rating this this twenty game stretch, fifty
seven touchdowns, four picks.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
Three of those picks went up the hands of receivers. Three.
You can say, oh whatever, but this is really what
we're talking about.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Yeah, like you said, and I'm not gonna I get
his playoff record.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
I'm not trying to discount it or poop pool it.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Okay, it's not good, okay, but even last year shorthanded
Andrews like, like, what was that? And I felt he
cheated us from a moment he did, because I thought,
oh my god, if they come back, because you remember
they were kind of like they could have tied that
game and then beat Buffalo. That would have been like

(11:33):
the step. There was a moment there he watched him
right down the field. You remember that, of course, and
then Andrew, I mean, you could throw that ball one
hundred times, ninety nine times you're going to catch that?

Speaker 4 (11:44):
Am I right? Ninety nine times you catch that ball.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
And there were people going on TV saying he could
have thrown the better ball things like that, like that's
going to keep the narrative.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
That that's nippicking and ain't no way Mark, and you
could look at that and go, oh no, he didn't
go the ball.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
Are you kidding? They got to catch that? Yeah, that
was bad.

Speaker 6 (12:07):
Well, just so you guys know, this season so far
as only two games, obviously, but Lamar Jackson is already
first in the NFL and QBR first, and passer rating first,
and touchdown passes and first of having the lowest interceptions,
So like, what else do you want.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Him to do. At this point, it's got to win
that big one.

Speaker 6 (12:24):
So I'll ask you, Kry, because I talked to Rob
about this again about a week ago. I believe that
if as soon as he wins one, if he does
nothing else the rest of his career. Let's say he
wins this year and he retires because he's like I'm done,
I'm over it, I'm going back to Florida. I think
you could make an argument right off the rip that
he's the top five quarterback ever immediately if he wins one,

(12:46):
just based on because he's got the two MVPs missed
unanimous by one vote for them, and everybody's gonna talk
as good as Josh Allen is. Everyone's going to talk
about five ten. Well, you know that was Lamar's MVP.
We all know that wass MVP.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
Right, And as he keeps playing, you keep going back.

Speaker 6 (13:05):
He wins at like a seventy five percent clip as
a starter.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
And he's he's seventy.

Speaker 6 (13:12):
He's currently we mentioned the all time leader in passer rating.
He's the first player in NFL history to throw at least
forty touchdown passes and fewer than five picks in the season.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
Okay, he's got.

Speaker 6 (13:22):
The string of ten straight games with at least two
touchdown passes and passer rating over ninety like, and that's
not even factoring in he's without question the greatest running.

Speaker 4 (13:32):
Quarterbacks even to that park.

Speaker 6 (13:37):
So if you just throw that out there again, if
it ends after the season, to say he seals the deal.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
The only guys who I would not really argue.

Speaker 6 (13:44):
With you are are better, have a better resume would
be Brady Mahomes, Manning, and maybe Montana.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
And then other than that.

Speaker 6 (13:53):
Other than that, I would I would probably fight you
about everybody else.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
Would there be some given take personally?

Speaker 6 (14:00):
Yeah, you know, I'm a big Annon Rodgers fan, but
I could see I'm a big Dan Reno guy. Whatever
would have to drop down because right there though, for
Lamar Jackson, with everybody else other than those first four.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
Games, I don't disagree. No, I agree with that as well.
I mean, you had to throw Montana in there. He's
he's he's my goal. He's he's my goal overall, even
over Brady. So uh but yeah, no, I wouldn't argue that.
I think if he gets it done, and I think
that's the whole thing, and that's the asteris right. A
lot of people, younger people, they really don't know Joe
Montana's crew.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
They don't. They really really don't when I tell people,
you know.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
And it's not just the four to one the super Bowl,
all right, eleven touchdowns, no picks. One two with Jerry Rice,
one two without Jerry Rice. Three three super Bowl MVPs,
and two of those Super Bowls he had to throw
a touchdown to win the game, not a field goal,
get close.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
You needed a touchdown game, dude. He was amazing. He
was my guy.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
Yeah, but lamar, lamar, yeah, I mean he's sniffing, he's
sniffing greatness. He's already great. But as far as the
overall resume, he definitely needs that. That championship on the resume.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
All right, eight seven seven, all right? Coming up to
Sean Reid, where are we?

Speaker 4 (15:15):
Oh no?

Speaker 3 (15:16):
In about twenty minutes, he's the Washington Post Commander's beat. Right,
we're gonna get some stuff on the commanders. And he
also just left the Raiders beat so we can find
out about Tom Brady you saw last night and all
that in the conflict or whatever. So Gino Smith though,

(15:37):
and the Raiders, they deserve each other. We'll continue that
conversation next with you. It is The Odd Couple on

Speaker 3 (17:27):
Read from the Washington Post is coming up. You're gonna
talk some commanders and stuff. We'll do that in about
five or six minutes. But Geno Smith, Rob g that's
your squad. You were happy when they signed Geno Smith,
and well you're happy about Gina good at week won

(17:49):
but three interceptions.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
Yesterday last night.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
Two of them were brutal and we had e from
one earlier. I've been covering a fell since nineteen eighty seven.
I covered Laarge Tailor. That's how long ago. I okay,
like you see Larnche my older I covered Large Tailor.
I was working in New York at the Daily News
at the time. You're at the Daily the Daily News,

(18:14):
the biggest paper in the country back then in nineteen
eighty seven. But my point here is, I've never seen
a quarterback throw a ball out of bounds on the
fourth have you, Kevin, you played pro football? I know,
I'm I know, I'm harping on it. But everybody said, oh,
that must have been third down. Nobody's don't you just

(18:38):
throw the ball downfield and hope for something?

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Not after three interceptions? Rob, I'm his interception.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
He already threw three, so like, I don't want another interception,
So I'm just going to throw the ball out of
bounds on fourth down. Yeah, No, you know that the
other team gets the ball right where you are.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
The game's over. Yeah, it's over.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
No.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
I don't know what he was thinking. That's crazy, Rob,
But he was so in his head at that point.
He was getting bad. Beat me.

Speaker 5 (19:01):
He was getting beaten in that game. He was getting battered.
He has some terrible throws in that game. And Gino
has obviously been a success story from since leaving New
York and.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
But he doesn't. I'm gonna say this, and you're right
because I want to give him credit too.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Okay, yeah, go ahead, But his record Rob g can
you chime in his record in primetime games and against
the good teams.

Speaker 4 (19:23):
Not good for Genos four and thirteen, four and thirteen.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
And that's what primetime games are, you know, those games
the primetime day night, Monday night, yeah, or something like that,
when you're on display. He hasn't played well and he
has had a comeback because he led the league in
completions and all that. And I'm gonna give him. You know,
I called him Gino's pizza. Here's another bad staff for
year rots. I know you want to rip on my team.

Speaker 6 (19:46):
Since twenty twenty three, the NFL leader in interceptions, of course,
none other Geno Smith twenty eight.

Speaker 5 (19:53):
Right behind him though, Patrick Mahomes twenty six. See, and
those are the number that's unbelievable when you say that.
That that the idea that Patrick.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Is the unquestioned number one quarterback.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Which is crazy even And I get the respect he
gets because of what he's done one yes, but the
GMS and the front office people say he's the best
quarterback in the league. They're not being honest, like there
is he a guy who's won and you give him respect.

Speaker 4 (20:22):
He's going to the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
Yes, yes, yes, all those Yes, he's not the best
quarterback in the league.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
He's not the best quarterback right now.

Speaker 5 (20:28):
No, But talking about Geno again though, and Gino is
not the better, we know that, but Rob just throughout
that stat, Rob g where he's led the league in interceptions,
that in that span. That's his problem because there are
moments of him being really good and he can win
you games and he can be solid, he can do
those things, but when it matters, when it counts, you
can also count on him throwing an interception in a

(20:49):
big game. And so you can't have both and be
a good quarterback in this league. And so for him,
Geno and the Raiders, they actually look really, really really
helpless last night. They didn't look good at all.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
And the other thing too, is, you know, I'm worried
about Pete Carroll and him being the coach and whatnot.
Did you before the game during workouts, Pete Carroll went
to the sidelines and yelled out, hey, you damn kids.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
Get off my loan.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Hey damn kits, get off my loan.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Thank you, Pete, because he's because he's what okay, I
know he's the youngest looking, how is he seventy five.
Good he does seventy five, seventy four. I'm telling you
he's a pork chop away.

Speaker 5 (21:34):
I'm just saying, no, Wow, that's insane.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
Do it again, Alex, that's gonna be a microwave take.
That's ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
Oh man, all right, uh to Sean Reid is coming
up next from the Washington Post, and we'll talk about
Tom Brady with him as well.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
He used to cover the Raiders. But first, let's get
you caught up Steve Desaga.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Wen Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Rob Parker, Kerry Road Jen for Kelvin Washington. On our
first anniversary. Here this new edition of The Odd Couple.
Seven years' total achy knee stiffback joints not cooperating. Some
days your body's just like nope, no way, no how.
And on those days, luckily there's a leave, just one pill.

(22:28):
A leave provides up to twelve hours of pain relief
so that you can keep moving. Use as directed. Now,
let's welcome in Tay Sean Reid. He is with the
Washington Post and the Commander's Beat writer who just left
The Athletic for this great job at the great newspaper
of the Washington Post. Congratulations mazel Tov, and welcome to

(22:49):
the show. Tay Shawn say hi to Carry Rhodes.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
What's up, what's going on?

Speaker 7 (22:54):
Appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
Thanks you for having me on, no doubt about it.
And let's get stored.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
Before you came to Washington to take over the Commanders beat,
you were with the Raid covered the Raiders. Tell me
about the big story last night on the game was
of course seeing Brady with a headset on and then people,
you know, conflict of interests and other teams can't be
that happy that he's a part owner and a broadcaster,

(23:21):
and you guys wrote a story about this in the
Washington Post about the conflict.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
Correct.

Speaker 7 (23:26):
Yeah, it's been something that it's been a storyline since
last season with Brady pretty much, you know, since he
bought into the franchise. People had questions of, well, how
does his work you know, with him being a Fox broadcaster,
and you know it's a fair question because you know
broadcast is typically you know, the adas production meetings with
the coaches and the players before the games. And you know,
I think people probably overinflate how much gets discussed in

(23:48):
those like it's now like they're sitting there breaking down
all twenty two and giving away which plays about the
car and stuff like that, you know what I mean.
So it's more general anyway, and so uh, you know,
it's just something that I think people make a little
bit too much out of it. But it is something
that gets talked about. And so every time that there's
a situation where you know, Brady is you know, seeing

(24:10):
doing something outside of being a broadcast or people going
to talk about it. You know, someone like Dan Quinn
or Jay Daniels ain't like that meets with him. They're
not stupid, right, They're not about to reveal all their
secrets knowing that they're going to play the Raiders in
two weeks. And so I think people have to be
cognizant that, you know, these teams and players a little
bit smarter than they seem to be thinking, you know

(24:31):
what I mean.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
Yeah, to Shun, I think that's the that's the problem though.
I think, you know, the nuance of all of these
conversations surrounding Brady and the situation that he's in right
as it's never been done. So we're saying something that's
that's new. And so the you know, our personalities and
who we are as people, we're going to make scenarios.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Up and and we should a little bit with with
the cheating that we know that with the Patriots, I'm
just keeping it really, you know what I mean, you
are and that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (24:59):
So, like that shot last night, I think it unsettled
a lot of people when they saw Brady in the
booths with that headset on, that he's not doing the game.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
That's much. You don't think that was a little bit
much to son.

Speaker 7 (25:10):
I mean compared to what everything else he's been doing
with the Raiders, Like wearing a headset during the game
is pretty life. I mean, he was on the hiring
panel for the GM search, the head coach search. She
came in town for meet him before they traded for
Geno Smith. He was involved in Scovium players for the draft.
I mean, he's coming to practices, he's meeting with the staff,
he's meeting with the players. He had Geno Smith to

(25:32):
the crib in Florida this offseason. So like you know,
wearing a headset during the game.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
All right, let's let's go there, Geno Smith, I mean,
a bad night all the way around, three interceptions, throws
the ball out of bounds on a fourth down play,
which I just can't hurt. It just hurt me as
a guys covered the league since nineteen eighty seven. But anyway,
what was it thinking in the Geno Smith? Is this
just because Pete Carroll was comfortable with them? Or did

(25:58):
they really believe he's going to stabilize the quarterback position?

Speaker 4 (26:02):
Where are they on? Gino?

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (26:05):
I think a lot of it was that familiarity with
Pete Carroll, but also it was a sense of desperation
with them at that quarterback position. I mean, really, since
they just made the decision to move on from Derek
Carr a couple of years ago, it's been a revolt
on door for that franchise. I mean, they brought in
Jimmy Garoppolo, then you had eight O'Connell was taken over,
then Gardner Minshew, then back to eight O'Connell, and those

(26:27):
answers were answers, you know, And so they came into
this offseason knowing that they needed to make an upgrade quarterback.
This wasn't an exceptional quarterback class. I mean we saw
that to be made very obvious about. You know, basically
none of them getting drafted high outside of cam Moore
with the Titans and so the Raiders. They weren't in
a position to go get somebody like cam Moore and

(26:49):
they didn't feel strongly about the rest of the class.
And at that point, so I all right, we either
we're going to go into the season with.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Well phone just died eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
You guys could get ready for trash talking. We'll hope
to get to Sean h back, uh to Sean Reid
with the Washington Post. Hopefully we'll be able to get them.
That was weird, was that all the phones that just

(27:20):
kind of does right. It seemed like it, Okay, he's
back to Shan you're back, Yep, you're there. Yeah, okay,
let's do the last thing here and now your new
beat is the Commander's quarterback Jade Daniels. What's his uh,
what's the update on him and his injury?

Speaker 7 (27:38):
Well, it's it's something that seems to be pretty minor.
It's more so they're taking it to be in precautionary
with him, and they're not going to force it. When
it comes to him practicing this week, we'll see if
he's able to get out there tomorrow or sometime by
the any of the week Friday, you know, hopimately, you know,
it's just they feel like it's a risk to play.
They won't they won't let him go out there. But
it's not something that they're worried about come and some

(28:00):
major significant injury. They just want to make sure that
it doesn't become that. And so if ultimately he's not
ready to go physically by Sunday, they have to hold
him out for a week just to make sure.

Speaker 8 (28:09):
They'll do that.

Speaker 7 (28:10):
But I wouldn't be surprised if he's out there and
playing against the Raiders either.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
And here's the other thing too, you know, the sophomore jinks,
and you know like about it, like we talk about
it all the time. It's not just for him. A
lot of quarterbacks go through it. People had CJ. Stroud
and the Texans going to the Super Bowl his second
year and it didn't work out. Uh, there's an adjustment
period that has to come along, yere, isn't it.

Speaker 7 (28:34):
Yeah, Like you know, not a team in general, not
just Jayden, Like everybody knows what to expect with the Commanders.
You're not catching anybody by surprise or everybody has film
on you. And you know Chris Kingsbury, advance offensive coordinator,
we've seen him have some hot starts before and then
get a little bit segmentant. So the book is out
on you now, So how do you react? And I
think you know, that's what we have to see from

(28:55):
them moving forward. It's been a shafety first couple of weeks,
Like even though they beat the Giants in week one,
isn't the most impressive performance. And then obviously last week
they got shut down against the Packers on the road,
and so they're sort of having to reprove themselves again
and show that, you know, what they did last year
wasn't the fluke and they can build off of it.
And so we'll see Higg been hit by the injury

(29:15):
bug early on here, not just Jayde and Daniels, but Austin,
Eckler and Destriquise all on the defensive side of the ball.
And this is the older team, a thinner team, and
so the margin forever isn't very large, you know, from
that aspect either. So we're going to see, you know,
expectations of sky high form now. I mean it's the
first time you can say that about the commanders in
quite some time. And so we'll see if you're able

(29:36):
to move.

Speaker 4 (29:37):
So Seawan read my man.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Thank you, yes, congratulations again on your new gig at
the Washington Post. Thanks for your insight. We appreciate you,
appreciate you all having me, all right, no doubt all

Speaker 3 (29:56):
If you want to get in, you got thirty or
forty seconds to trash anyone a thing in the world
of sports, including kelvin Washington. You could do that as well.
So we'll get ready for that. And we're ready, be ready,
Come strong and hard to the microphone. It is the
Odd Couple on a trash Talking Tuesday, Rob Parker Kerry

But right now we got Richard from Texas. You're home
with they couple. How you doing, brother, I'm doing dead.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
Hey.

Speaker 9 (31:53):
The reason I'm gonna trash the I'm gonnet the referees
and then also Dak Prescott because I fine, I didn't
get to actually watch the end of the game, but
it seems like every time the Cowboys get behind, Dax
throws it up and then hopes for the referee to
call a penalty. And I'm almost to the point where
I think the whole game is rigged now. And it

(32:16):
just was just so disheartening to watch that game. I
watched two games this weekend. I watched that game and
there's so many freaking penalties, and then I watched the
Chiefs and the Egos and they just let them play ball.
But I quit watching the Cowboys after that game yesterday.

Speaker 10 (32:30):
Thank you?

Speaker 3 (32:31):
All right, so many people always saying that the NFL's
rigged a screen see it on social media all the time.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
Yeah, it's crazy. Eight seven to seven ninety nine on Fox.
All right, we got Mays from San Diego. Who you trashing?

Speaker 5 (32:42):

Speaker 4 (33:48):
Mike Wilbon is my guy. I'm a text Willbon and

Speaker 11 (33:59):
Tam?

Speaker 6 (34:01):
You know what?

Speaker 8 (34:01):
Robert of Carry, I'm trash. And Brian Kelly, the coach
of the LSU Tigers, that press conference was ridiculous. First
of all, you're in the SEC where passions run high.
I mean, they can't even show the Alabama Auburn game
in the old folks Home in Alabama anymore with old
Jesus throwing jars and teeth at each other. Second of all, dude,

(34:22):
this is the this is LSU where less males won
a national championship and the only thing he had to
do was make sure his hat was bent right and
the fish trip was on it. We're talking LSU where
ed o'geron who talked like the assistant coach for the
water Boy, and Bobby Bouchet won a national championship and
the only exits in os he knew was how to
sign his name, and he had those big fat paychecks.

(34:45):
Come on, man, this is the LSU where a ten
win season and have the local nuns in the parish
turning over tables like Jesus into Temple Mount. Dude, this
is the SEC You're not in Kansas anymore, Darthy, deal
with it.

Speaker 4 (34:59):
A Hey, why does Tam sound like master Rapper?

Speaker 11 (35:02):
I know?

Speaker 3 (35:02):
There you go, Chili Tim eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox, we got we got Fernando from Vegas.

Speaker 4 (35:09):
Who you trashing? Fernando?

Speaker 7 (35:12):
I'm trashing Rob Parker.

Speaker 11 (35:14):
Hey, Parker, stay off the ladies of the w NBA.
You know those all star t shirts?

Speaker 9 (35:21):
How ironic your ex wife wore the same thing.

Speaker 11 (35:24):
But it's a teeny well happy anniversary sexist.

Speaker 4 (35:29):
Wow wow nice?

Speaker 5 (35:33):
Eight seven seven, that's pretty good. Nando came in hot
all right. We got Justice from New Mexico. Who you
trash in Justice? Hey?

Speaker 11 (35:43):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (35:44):
Fellers?

Speaker 4 (35:44):
How you? What's up?

Speaker 9 (35:45):
Man?

Speaker 8 (35:46):
Everything's gravy?

Speaker 3 (35:47):
May ay?

Speaker 8 (35:48):
Rob?

Speaker 4 (35:48):
I love you, man, Hi, thank you, buddy.

Speaker 7 (35:51):
I got a question for you.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
Man.

Speaker 11 (35:53):
This is a baseball related question regarding my beloved braves. Man,
I'm tired of the way they play baseball now in
days after winn of the twenty twenty one Bro Series. Man,
we've been on such a skid.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
And I what do we need to do to get better?

Speaker 8 (36:08):
Man?

Speaker 7 (36:08):
You what's your thoughts?

Speaker 8 (36:10):
Rob?

Speaker 9 (36:10):
Tell me?

Speaker 4 (36:11):
All right, we gotta get to that. We'll get to that.
I appreciate trash talk, trash talking this question. Yeah, we
got one more, one more, we got one. We got
we got Jacom Georgia. Who you trashing?

Speaker 2 (36:24):
Jay?

Speaker 8 (36:26):
Yo?

Speaker 12 (36:26):
We're going on, Rob, We're going on kids. Hey, I
got no trash is supposed to be a good time.
But I gotta I gotta speep my mind for a
second about something that bothered me. So I want to
transtide sports owners, the NFL owners, the MFB owners who
been posting Charlie Kirk before the games and all this stuff.
But the same right wing people they were tramped in

(36:47):
Colin Kaepernick for his freedom of speech as well. So like,
you can't have it both ways. You remember this, Hey,
stop nearly on my field. Get politics out of sports, Rob,
carry'all remember that? Yeah, Now to how do you racist
owners out here. Hey, get politics out of sport. You
see how that works, Like stop posting the racing is

(37:08):
a biggie, Like nobody want to see that before a
football game, like be for real.

Speaker 7 (37:12):
And that's all I wanted to say.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
You know what, Hey, Jay, I can't argue with you man.
You said it very well. It's either which what are
we doing here? Either doing it or we're not doing it.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
That's it. It's funny.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
It is the odd couple. My goodness, two hours in
the books, our number three coming up. We got plenty
to talk about and going to talk about c J.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
Stroud. That team is pretty bad and they just offensively
are bad.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
So it is the odd couple right here on Fox
Sports Radio Sticking State

Speaker 4 (37:42):
Especially if it's trash on
