second round against.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
The Celtics going right now?

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yes, like they're going to the NBA Finals and it's
still another round, which is the crazy part.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
But that's how Yeah, that's how Jack, including your boy
Stephen A.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Okay, I mean, I know he's that's his thing. That
and the Cowboys, you know, when they lose or whatever,
he goes ballistic. So people going crazy. Also a little
shop talk coming up as well in the second hour
of the program. But Rob g let's bring Rob G
in to set the table on Lebron. I guess was

(02:01):
in a podcast? Oh? Was this a was this a
metal med m D podcast about his injury?

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Is that what he was on?

Speaker 5 (02:11):
No, this is just further proof that he's taking media
more seriously than his basketball career. Because even after they
were eliminated in round one by the Minneso dimber Wolves
so much so he was so hurt he couldn't even
go to the met Gala with but Buddy could go
to the podcast.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
But you do the podcast from home?

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Shout out to Lebron.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Content is King.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
Did the podcast in between the Wolves eliminating them in
round one and before the Wolves lost Game one the Warriors.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
To just keep that in context, everybody says wolves differently,
do you have nomber Wolves?

Speaker 5 (02:42):
Shout out to monts Chris, I can't wait, and Talma
start point out every word that Rob says, what.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Talk?

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Yeah, yeah, I didn't know there was a w W.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
What oh god, gawd oh?

Speaker 2 (03:05):
But any event, do I sound like that?

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
You do, Yes you do.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
During the latest episode, obviously, the focus was on the
Lakers getting eliminated around one brother Timberwolves, and during the conversation,
Steve Nash brought up the viral clip of Lebron jamesdapping
up at the Edwards African eliminated saying, hey, go ahead
and take the next step. Here's Lebron explaining what he
meant by that conversation for.

Speaker 7 (03:28):
Me to just like, you know, telling her to take
the next step, Like you know, it doesn't always mean okay,
well Western Conference finals and now you got to be
in the finals. It's like, take the next step and
just you as a person, you as a player, continue
to get better, better and better. You know your time's
gonna come. Whatever, I can't decide what that's going to be.
Sometimes we have no control over when that next step
as far as being you know, going to the finals

(03:49):
and winning, you know, we're not always have the opportunity
to do that, but like we do have control over
making the next step in our own individual journey, you know.
And I think that's that's what it was about, because
I love seeing that, man. I love seeing you know,
I love seeing Jacy Tatum take that next step, you know.
I love seeing you know, you know Nazi and you
know taking that next step by It's just it's a problem,

(04:12):
problem feeling for me, you know, as a player, been
in the league for so long.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Oh that's nice.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Lakers get eliminated, and he's glad handing everybody and saying,
thanks for kicking out butts, thanks for beating us in five.
I'm glad you're moving on. I mean, come on, really,
it's h is this Lebron trying to take credit like
like he made ant Man and then and I'm sending
my young pup out to go get uh to go

(04:37):
find his own food.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Is that what it is? Because I don't know how
it would feel. There's no way.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
After everybody big ja up, you talked about the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Oh, they're going to the finals. There's no paths.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Oh my god, you got two NBA grades? How are
you not gonna get there? You know, look at the
look at the landscape. Here's another chance. Lebron's gonna win
it the championship. Now what will they say? He's got five?
He just one with Luca and instead it's aunt Yeah, man,
go ahead, awesome, man, I love it.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Go do your thing, you go win a championship. Is
that where we are?

Speaker 3 (05:16):
I know, Kelvin people thinking this is where we are
with these guys taking a trading jersey to get beat
down by forty and glad handing everybody. I'm not saying
I have to attack you or be nasty to you,
but there is a separation when we're playing and win.
If I see you in the off season, That's why

(05:36):
I love Gianna so much. I'm serious. Giannis is like,
I'm not having that. I'm not going on vacation with you,
I'm not working out with you. I'm competing against you.
And ant taking the next step means that Lebron took
a step back.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
How are you applauding you taking a step back?

Speaker 3 (05:57):
They would Lebron and then weren't the underdogs in the series,
they were the favorites. They got their lunch handed to him.
How does that feel good to see ant Man go
forward when everybody in their uncle not only had you
winning that series, but going to the finals, a lot
of people did, Oh wow, they got a free paths.

(06:19):
Oh my god, they got Luca fell on their lap.
Now look, they got Austin Reeves. He's a big three
who You're not gonna take those three guys? Am I
exaggerating or note that's what we heard, Kelvin.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
I hear you, But I think again, historically speaking, we
always have the big dogs show the little dog some love.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Hey, I love to see what he's doing.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
I love to see he's covered up next, he's got next, yo,
I've been mentoring him. Are I love to see these
guys try to come and take the mantle. To me,
that's just acknowledgement of where you are, dude. It's forty
what about to be forty one and this year acknowledging
that literally this could be the end next year and
having a relationship with and they just went through the
Olympics together. Anthony Edwards is the guy who comes in

(07:06):
and says, you're my guy. I think you're the best,
but I want to bust your head. Kevin Durant, You're
my favorite player growing up. I can't wait to bust
your head. Lebron, I think you're one of the best
players ever. I can't wait to get your butt out
the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
You and Luca.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
This is what he's built up, and he's built that
relationship and that respect, and it kind of reminds me
of Kobe Bryant in a relationship he had with Kyrie.
Kyrie was an annoying little nineteen twenty one year old
wanting to play him at the Olympic.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
Come on, man, settled down, man, you come on, man,
play out. I play one on one. And Kobe has
such respect for him.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Kobe was known for showing Russ and Kad and those
guys so much love and praise, and I think that's
what happens. He got eliminated by him, especially when there's
such a gap in the age, like dude, I'm looking
at this next generation. And also when you've been the
face of the league, you love to see the fact
that the league will be in good hands.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
When you view it as a no, not.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Thinking about that when you're trying to get the six championship.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Lebronsissippi.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Ron James has through the duration of his career, always
thought about the league, and you know that he is.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
There is a league in a better place when Jordan
left it compared to where Lebron has it. I don't
know he left the ninety well, just asking you, where's
the league as far as is it in a better
place than where Michael Jordan left it?

Speaker 4 (08:19):
I don't. I don't see the relevance.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
I mean, I'm just asking you.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
I don't think ratings wise it is.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
No.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
In the style of play, no, I don't think that's
indigative Lebron. I think Lebron is done. I'm for the
most part what he's been asked to do. Be a
states bothsmen and statesmen speak up, do this show up there.
I mean, he's done most of mostly everything for twenty
plus years.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
So I don't have a problem with him showing love in.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
A podcast to a young person who has shown love
to him, respect to him. They battled against each other.
I don't think it's an issue to me, looking.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Like in a podcast it was on the court after
the game wasn't it. That's what the viral clip was.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Well, the clip was him saying, take that next step
like that. I don't that's just him. Do you see
that all the time When Peyton Manning loses to some
young by the game, Man, keep doing your thing. I
love what you're doing, man, keep growing. But Aaron Rodgers
losing to some young puppy does it all the time. Hey, man,
love what you're doing. Keep going, man, the game needs you.
You're doing great.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
That's no big deal.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
When when Larry Bird got sixty three on his head
put up against Michael Jordan, man, remember that and he
said that wasn't Michael Jordan series, that was God disguise
he did. But to call another man God. But I'm
saying God, this guy that's crazy. Didn't lose the series though.
But my point is the expectation for the Lakers was bigger.

(09:33):
I would have been I'm just giving you. I would
have been pissed. I would have been twenty eight.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
I'm with you, I would have been I would know
I would have been no, because the expectations weren't about
him at twenty eight years old.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
It's just like I tell you all the time, people
who with the Lions. You could say whatever you want. Oh,
their defense was banged up, all up.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
No, they were nine and a half point favorites at
home against Washington. They were expected to win the game.
So you could go ahead and until jayde Daniels man
go ahead, yeah, Man, go ahead, yeah, And you may
never get to the super Bowl, never have that opportunity.
Why would you be dapping up a guy and feeling
good in no situation. The Lions are looking for their

(10:13):
first ever Lebron All.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
He's chasing Michael.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Jordan's chasing because nobody's gonna let him get Jordan anyway.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
He ain't chasing Jordan at this point. He's just trying to.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
He's trying to get to six. So trying to make
an argument he wants six more than anything.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
Listen, Mike, he doesn't run six championships because it's one
more than Kobe.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
He had six, that's what he wants.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Well, I don't even think he I think he wants
one more. I don't think he knows he can't get
to six. That ain't happening.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Why he's gonna play four more years for Bryce?

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Okay, Well, let's Rob Polenka is about to do some crazy,
crazy moves this offseason that ain't happening. Maybe they go
crazy enough to get one more, but that's asking a
lot for him to get to six. And even if
he did get the sick, he'll be what six and
six or something, So people will say that mattered lebron
Jordan was six and oh, So that's he's never gonna
be able to for those who think Jordan is better,

(11:08):
he's never gonna be able to be better for them.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
So that's for the.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Bronze sexuals, it'll be, hey, he has six rings, that's
all they care about him.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
Him showing love to the young one would be the
same as you be.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Hey man, it's his young pup coming up reporter sports
broad No, it ain't God, No, it ain't going to mean.
I think he's told him to keep doing this thing.
Matter of fact, our entire station is a bunch of people.
You put on rob. No, but what you got to
say to that? No, but that that ain't mean everybody. Hey,
you know, hey, I like this kid he's doing. He's
up next, put him on, give him a chance. Hey,
I love to see his work ethic, he's good. That's

(11:39):
what you're doing right now, conversation. You're showing love to
who's up next?

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Just like I told you what Giannis. There's a reason
Giannis doesn't do that. And it's just the way that
people are cut, that's all I'm saying. And they're not
looking to try to take credit for somebody else or
try to try to hitch their wagon to man say like, oh, yeah,
you know the young guy, I want them to go. Dude, No,
we're not after I lose. If I see you on

(12:06):
vacation or see you down the road at some point
and we have that conversation, that's cool. Yo. You know,
I'm not saying to disrespect them or not saying anything
after you lose, But I'm not trying to tell a
guy to take the next step and all that.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Literally like fifteen sixteen years older than them, Like absolutely,
that's his response.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
They're still playing, They're still playing against each other. Are
they competition? So we shouldn't have want to win anyway?
Is that what you're telling me?

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Because you're the kids I've seen saying you realize who
you are, where you are in this thing, knowing this
is coming down to the very very end. And this
dude has another seven eight to fifteen years in and
so you're showing for something.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
You're showing them young fella. I see what you're doing.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Keep growing the game. That's just really love and respect
for the game. One of the game to stay at
a high, an elevated level.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
That's what you're getting.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
So we don't have to come on here and an
eye couple and yell at these young guys because they're
not stepping the game up, they're not playing hard, they're
not respecting a game, because that's exactly what we be doing,
as we were doing several years ago when we didn't
feel like this that young crop was taking it seriously.
So Lebron is trying to continue to grow these guys,
help be there so that the game keeps evolving. And

(13:12):
Edwards looked like he can be one of those guys
that elevates the game.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Age seven seven ninety nine on Fox, Rob.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Got all the mentee eight seven seven to be a mentor,
You got seventyes.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
I just it's not the same as apples and oranges.
I was just saying, Rob's like, hey, you can get
any job in the country, just not mine what that's what.
That's what Lebron just say I'm glad you're winning. Just
beat everybody else.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
You're not trying to beat me exactly like I'm not
doing that.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
No.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
But key point is you're already out. No I'm saying
he's out of the playoffs right now.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
No.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
But the point is you beat me to get to
your next step. I'm you were the favorites. The Lakers
were the favorites, all right? Eight seven seven A glass
on Merlow right now, chilling? Yeah at the fake barbershop?

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Did you did? Did it rub you the wrong way?

Speaker 8 (14:07):
To heal?

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Lebron say that he was proud of Anthony Edwards after
he eliminated the Lakers.

Speaker 8 (14:12):
In round one.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
We'll continue that conversation next with you.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
It is The Odd Couple on a TV theme song Thursday,
Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington right here on Fox Sports.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Radio, Stick and stay. Is that Mark over there? America?

Speaker 9 (14:28):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Rob, what's this one? I don't know this one? This
is Starskin Hutch is that what it? Yeah, from seventy
I just pulled it out.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
I just looked up at No Mark, who's engineer right now,
Mighty Mark, and I was like, yeah, it sounds like Starskin.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Huch. There you have it.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
It's the odd couple. He's Rob, I'm Kelvin on a
team themes so on Thursday. And by the way, for
over forty years, tire Iraq has been helping customers find
the right tires for how, what and where they drive.
Ship fast and free back by free Row has a
protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Tire rack dot Com is the way tire buying should be.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
We got Leon.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
It's gonna be dope. Getting ready to talk to Leon
here in about seven minutes or so. Obviously a New Yorker,
a Nick fan, a super fan. I know he's going
crazy like all Nick fans across my gots. My timeline
is annoying right now, Rob, So we'll get to him
in just a little bit. Taking calls Lebron kind of
showing some love Dan Edwards after the loss the Lakers
and telling them to keep going, take that next step,

(15:38):
and then then kind of expounded on that in his
mind the Game podcast. Even more, Rob has a problem
with I said, that's what old heads do. What say
you a seven seven ninety nine on Fox?

Speaker 2 (15:47):
So we got I'm still waiting for the first time
you have a problem with Lebron. But that's another story
holder that I the dope Robs. Don't let him do that.
Brian in Michigan, you're on the couple of Fox More.

Speaker 8 (16:00):
Brian, Hey, what's going on, fellas?

Speaker 6 (16:03):
How's the Land of the Stars out there.

Speaker 8 (16:05):
In l A?

Speaker 2 (16:05):
All good? All good? How are you?

Speaker 8 (16:08):
I'm good?

Speaker 6 (16:09):
So you know, Calvin, I'm a Michigan man too, and
we brothers in that fact. But I got a side
with Rob on this one. I mean you think about
back in the day, do you think Rick Mahorn, Charles
Oakley to ken Beam Dumbo, they would I think this
shows Lebron's softness.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
I mean, you got a name, but you here's the thing.
Here's the thing, Brian, do me a favor.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
Name a star. You're literally naming Rick Michael Thomas.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Michael Jordan wouldn't be like, oh, I'm glad you beat us.
Go on and do your thing, young guy.

Speaker 6 (16:42):
That's really been like I'm I'm gonna ehat your foot off.
He could play him the next year.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
So you know, I think you're miss I think you're miss.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Y'all are misunderstanding with some what they would know, what
they would do actual on the floor.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
I'm not arguing that so literally, my Jordan, it's plenty
of time.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
But it told you about Yannis that that's why a
lot of people like Yannis is that he's not with this.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
He's not with that.

Speaker 6 (17:09):
I don't condone violence, fellas, but I mean some of
the competitiveness. We really need to get back to this.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
I think we are.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
I think these young dudes are bringing it. It's so ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Everybody's friends, everybody's taking their jerseys off for each other.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
But really I.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Don't disagree with that. I think these young dudes are
doing it. Thank you, bing appreciate it wrong always.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Thank you. Who we got mj in New Orleans. You're
on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (17:33):
What's up, mj ty TV Show Thursday?

Speaker 10 (17:37):
To the Gungbo Brothers.

Speaker 8 (17:38):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (17:39):
What's that? Sounds good right about now? Me?

Speaker 10 (17:44):
Personally, I don't believe Lebron jameson left he was miked
up because he has a long list of stretching the truth,
like reading The gold Father Malcolm x so forth.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Well it's on video, this one. They got it on video.

Speaker 10 (17:59):
Okay, have to see it, Mike up to think up. Also,
what's about this this WILLI is? Uh this wine party
and uh Beverly Hills is.

Speaker 8 (18:08):
At four am?

Speaker 10 (18:09):
Was he was he able to do that with with
the stage two m Clair?

Speaker 3 (18:14):
He said he was there till four am. Right, that's
the that's the social media. I don't know, Kevin. If
you've seen it, he's he's out of the party until
four am. It looks like he's all right, you know,
hanging out at this party or whatever.

Speaker 8 (18:26):
So I don't know yet.

Speaker 10 (18:27):
Then he said he wasn't able to make the met
Galla because of the stage two n c L. But
he was at the party hanging out him rich Fall
and her dash to four am. So the stretching of
the true type thing, I don't get that. But Rid,
we can't kick people in the sin anymore, you know,
elbowm and choke him out and laugh him like.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
I'm not trying to get nobody slapped out. I just said,
we don't have to sing.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Kumba y'all and lose and be and and and tell
a guy, thank you for beating us so that you
can advance in your career.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Thanks.

Speaker 10 (18:57):
But you know, Lebrin is the bast at all in
his face of the league for twenty years, I think
Kevin said. But I think that kind of goes within
that Kobe Bryant error. So I don't know about the
twenty yeth thing, but it sounds good to the Lebron sapiens,
you know, the witnesses, It sounds good.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
But I agree with you to act like Kobe wasn't
around at all, that he didn't play during Lebron's era.
But it's it's Lebron's eero for twenty years.

Speaker 8 (19:22):
Is that what it is?

Speaker 4 (19:23):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (19:23):
No, act like Lebron's not been in facing the league
for the last fifteen years. No, you said twenty is
what you said, semantics. The point is it's been Kobe ever.
Was when Kobe Lebron was? I don't think Obe was
the official face of the league. No, not that it
wasn't a talent thing. I don't think clearly.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
I think it was.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
You know, he has some issues, and I think the
league who.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Was it was Michael Jordan and nobody and then Lebron.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
It was Allen iverson that league a few years.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Was he Okay, you don't think he was? No, I'm
not sure he was. I know he was very popular
to a lot of people.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
I mean there was nobody then, right, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Yeah, that's what you're saying.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
No, That's why I'm asking you. If it were after Jordan.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Who wasn't Kobe Bryant was winning championships, wasn't he?

Speaker 4 (20:07):
I said, who's the face of the lee? And I
asked you, who's winning?

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Kobe? David Robinson? Want to ring that? I mean he
was nobody ever heard David Robins.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
Don't disrespect to happen.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Tim duncan all right, hold on, wait to send me here.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
No, I still can't hear Himdang. I try to whisper,
and I still can't hear what they talking about. All Right,
we got Leon on the way, actor singer and Nick
super fan have some good time talking about him. He
played Hooper in movies before, so you know he knows
the thing about it. Talk to him in a minute
right now. It's Montelaos' was trending.

Speaker 9 (20:37):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Guys, Hello, Hello, Happy Thursday.

Speaker 11 (20:52):
Here we are a couple of minutes away from Game
two between the Warriors and the Timberwolves from Minnesota. Obviously,
the Warriors lead the series one zero, but playing without
Stephen Curry for this one because of that hamstring strain
in the NHL playoffs.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
We got some action, bon.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Shit potty turn around and now it's mc michael breaking behind, shouting.

Speaker 6 (21:10):
The stars kind of mc mic out right through the
Carolina day and for the lower line.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
It's low, it's long, nothing.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
Lossing to that's right.

Speaker 11 (21:24):
The Capitals have a one zero lead on the Hurricanes,
and you just heard it all on the Capital's radio network.
Still seven minutes to go in the second period. This
is Game two of the East second Round. Carolina leads
the series one zero, so Capital's trying to even it
out the Oilers and the Golden Knights. The puck will
drop for this game too, at nine point thirty Eastern,
where Edmonton leads the series one zero. In baseball, three

(21:45):
games going on. Tigers up on the Rockies eleven to one,
bottom of the ninth inning in Colorado, the Rays of
taking the lead from the Phillies two to one top
of the sixth inning.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
The Braves are now up on the Reds two to one,
bottom of the fifth inning in Atlanta.

Speaker 11 (21:58):
And how about this boxing superstar Many Pakia is planning
to come out of retirement, apparently to face Mario Badios
for the w C Welterweight Championship on July nineteenth in
Las Vegas. This is according to ESPN. So Many pak
Ya back in action.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Very nice, man.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Manny is a man of the people, a man at
a claw. Come on, man, do something else, Manny.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
I know it's like a stamp.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
They're just like they're like, there's so many gullible people
have nothing to do on a Friday night.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
We'll just put together something and then people will pay money.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
Like so many many packed me out.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
That's packed me out.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
Get out, pack him up and ship him out, just like.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
When we talked about the Mike Tyson fire. Ridiculous but yeah,
and people all spent all that money. I told him
it was gonna be terrible.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
And the worst party is rob we saw Mike's butt cheeks.
Then't nobody else that?

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Nobody can't get that out of the moment? Someone did?

Speaker 4 (22:57):
No, I don't know, not none of us.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
Manzi, what about someone Tyson's cheeks.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
That's the last thing we asked for.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Oh God, thank you, man cheeks.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
See our couple.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
He's Rob and I'm Kelvin on a TV things on
Thursday and then now join again. Welcome to the odd
couple once again, our man Leon, actor singer and Nick
superfan who is probably on a super high right now
with the way his team is up a couple of
games on the Celtics.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Leon, what's up?

Speaker 12 (23:25):
Man?

Speaker 2 (23:25):
What's up? Leon? Oh?

Speaker 8 (23:26):
Yes, oh yes, guys, you all know about it right now.

Speaker 12 (23:32):
I am a common sense negrowth, Okay, So I'm realistic
about it. We've won two games by total of two points,
so it ain't like we're blowing people out. So and
plus going down by twenty for three quarters is not
a recipe to win games.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Right Well, well, I mean we'll say this, Leon, and
you know you've been on before with Chris and I
and and the next. Most of the time it wasn't
It was always bad news for you, and things weren't
gonna work out exactly.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
But I'm not mad at.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
Nick fans for being thrilled when you win kind of
thrilling games, despite what the Celtics have done, which is
self destruct of all the stuff you've seen. How shocking
is it just to see the Celtics miss that many threes?

Speaker 12 (24:26):
You know, it's not really that shocking to me because
if you you know, there's a whole saying you live
by the three, you die by the three. And it's
also not shocking to me because the Celtics have blown
big leads all seasons and they've also lost games at
home all season more than they've lost on the road.
So the real thing is what's going to happen in

(24:48):
the garden, because now we have control, and that's the
biggest thing that's gonna happen.

Speaker 8 (24:52):
How we're gonna What are we going to do in
the garden?

Speaker 12 (24:55):
Are we gonna hold home court or at least get
one of them? Because we do that, we are right
the knicks of five and zero in the playoffs on
the road, So they've proven they can win on the road.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
Yeah, now they just got to take care of business
at home.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
As you mentioned, they've been in some tight games all postseason.
It feels like they played against the Pistons and it
was nip and tuck most of those games, and obviously
they've had to come back against the Celtics. Just tell
me what you think of Jalen Bronson and him mister
clutch of the Year, and what he's meant to this team,
in that franchise, in that city.

Speaker 8 (25:28):
It's amazing.

Speaker 12 (25:28):
It's amazing, you know, it's a great We haven't had
a captain in ten years.

Speaker 8 (25:32):
Now we have a captain of the team. He's a
great leader.

Speaker 12 (25:36):
I'm really happy, to be honest with you, though I'm
a little concerned towards the end of the game. They's
handling the ball.

Speaker 8 (25:44):
Way too much.

Speaker 12 (25:45):
I don't believe he should be dribbling twenty seconds out
of twenty four o'clock. I mean, I'd like to see
Thibodeau and saw some more plays. Why he is not
running kick and roll with cats almost every time he
comes down.

Speaker 8 (25:58):
I don't understand.

Speaker 12 (26:00):
Both can pop from the outside, both can roll. But
I see him, I see kat will set a pick
and sit and rolling to the bucket. He just stays outside.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
It seems like real quick role. I was gonna say
one thing I was gonna say about their dynamic. It
kind of seems like they can't both get off at
the same time. It seems like Brunson is having a
great game or like this most recent one, he finished well,
but he didn't play great, but then Kat played well.
It's like they haven't been able to kind of do
it at the same time.

Speaker 4 (26:25):
Leon, have you noticed that.

Speaker 8 (26:26):
No, but they know, But no, But that's not true.

Speaker 12 (26:28):
During the season, they both were doing at the same time.

Speaker 8 (26:31):
That was why to do a both All stars.

Speaker 12 (26:33):
You know, they both averaged over twenty five points a
game during the season. They were a great duo. But
it's now in the playoffs is when you really got
to make sure you maximize on that. And that's what
I want to see happen. We got two All Stars
on this team and they needed to play like all stars.
And I also put this on Brunson and I put
this on Thibodeaux that first game.

Speaker 8 (26:52):
Yo, Kat can't shoot nine shots in a game. That's ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
No, that's that's ridiculous. Absolutely, You're you're not trying to
win with that. With that kind of numbers or output.
I don't want to rain on your parade, but I
do have to bring this up because you're a baller
and a basketball player.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Ship. But the Mitchell Robinson free throw? What was that?
That might have been the.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
Worst You want to talk about the worst free throw
I ever saw. I don't even know what that was.

Speaker 12 (27:18):
It wasn't really a free throw.

Speaker 8 (27:19):
I thought he was passing it to the fans.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
I thought he was throwing it back to the ref.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
Leon when you saw that, did you go like, cause
you should here Reggie Miller on the broadcast like, oh no,
and and and uh Kevin Hall, and did.

Speaker 8 (27:33):
You see did you see Robinson's face? He put his
head down?

Speaker 2 (27:38):
I mean, you know, like I've seen people miss free
throws or whatever.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
They've been some bad free throw shoot, but that might
have been the worst one I've ever seen.

Speaker 12 (27:47):
Yeah, I just I really understand anyone makes it to
this level and you can't shoot free throws, and you
can't even shoot take a shot. I've never seen him
take a shot, not even in the layup line.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
That's crazy.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
That's actually funny.

Speaker 12 (28:04):
Twelve foot So, So what I'm saying is that I've
never understood how you can get to this level?

Speaker 2 (28:09):
Right?

Speaker 9 (28:09):
Right?

Speaker 12 (28:09):
I have at least one go to move, like what
do you do in the gym? One go to move,
a little jump, hook, a little fade something.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
I agree.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
When I see guys make it up and they don't
have a shot or they can't be offensively, they're just
it's like, how did you make it all the way
through all the ranks and not get there?

Speaker 2 (28:30):
All right, here's a bigger question for you. Will you
be at game three? And are you paying?

Speaker 8 (28:35):
What is it?

Speaker 4 (28:36):
Fifty four thousand?

Speaker 3 (28:38):
I've seen the tickets, fifty four thousand the cheapest, or
three thousand or six hundred for nose bleeds?

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Where are you going to be in a building?

Speaker 8 (28:48):
Okay?

Speaker 12 (28:48):
Now, I know you've ever watching Nick games, but if
you have, you've seen me seeking course side, I've seen you, okay,
And that is the reason why I continually work as
an actor to make movie the TV shows that people love,
so they invite me to sit.

Speaker 8 (29:03):
At the game, Thank you very much. Okay, when I'm
in the building, you.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Know I'm in the building, all right, I'm asking you,
are you going to be in the building verb game three?

Speaker 12 (29:13):
The only reason I won't be in the building for
Game three is because I'm in the road with my
band right now and I'm trying to make sure my
flight gets in on time. They're really messing me up
with this three thirty nonsense.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Right, Why is that why?

Speaker 3 (29:26):
Yeah, we were talking about yesterday, were thirty like that
should be a primetime game? I know, it's Uh, what
is that because of the West Coast games? Or what
is the reason that Nixon and Celtics are playing in
the afternoon.

Speaker 8 (29:38):
I don't know. Maybe they want the kids to come
have hot dogs. I don't know. I can't figure it out.
I can't figure it out.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
That should be a nighttime game. I'm shocked that that's
a three thirty show.

Speaker 12 (29:48):
It's amazing. Let me tell you that I just posted
the other day, and because I've been saying this for years,
the NBA Playoffs is the best.

Speaker 8 (29:55):
Series on TV, and it's been for years.

Speaker 12 (29:58):
These games, when it gets the playoff levels, are just
intriguing on the watch, down to the wire, and a
lot of it is because the referees are letting the
guys play.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
I agree with that well, but there were a lot
of blowouts in the first round two. I mean that's
not you enjoy all the.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
Oh okay, eight minute Leon, Leon? Did you watch okay
see win by forty three last night? It wasn't last month,
it was last night. Every game's not nipping talk. That's
all I'm saying.

Speaker 12 (30:29):
You watch, No, okay, can't we unfairly? Can we agree
that eight or seven out of ten?

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Okay? Okay, I'm not saying there's been some really good games.

Speaker 12 (30:41):
Listen, if there's two games or three games in the
night and two of them are great or one of
them was great out of two, come on now.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
I'm just saying, it's just funny you saying that after
that disgusting game yesterday that I.

Speaker 8 (30:53):
Mean that that game was over before it started. Yeah,
that was that was terrible.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
So so let me get here. Okay. So that's up
to all.

Speaker 12 (31:03):
M hm.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
They have to win this series, don't they.

Speaker 8 (31:09):
Uh well, no one would think.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
But you know, no, no, no, no, no, I'm not
one with think.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
I'm asking you, as a Knick fan, you're if anything
other than winning this series is a total disaster of
the season.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
Correct.

Speaker 8 (31:24):
I don't know what I wouldn't say as a disaster
of the season, But to give me tell you why,
Let me tell you, let me tell you why it hurts.

Speaker 12 (31:33):
It hurts because we have not been able to get
past the second round for the last three years.

Speaker 8 (31:38):
That's where it's.

Speaker 12 (31:39):
Really gonna hurt.

Speaker 8 (31:40):
And it's gonna hurt because it's Boston. See if you
have to tell us that.

Speaker 12 (31:42):
If you're from New York, right, and you ask if
the Knicks, if the Knicks, what do you want the
Knicks to do?

Speaker 8 (31:48):
You want the Knicks to win the championship. If the
Knicks don't want to win the championship, what's the second
best thing?

Speaker 12 (31:53):
Well, the second best thing to New Yorker is the
beat Boston.

Speaker 4 (31:56):
I get that.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
I mean I'm from Jamaica, Queen, so I get that
whole thing. But my point is, once your.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
Team exceeds the expectation, which is going to Boston and
winning two games on the road, if you don't look
at this series and say the Knicks can't. If the
Celtics come back and win four out of the next
five and they advance and beat you, you have lost
a golden opportunity and.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
You have choked. Is what you have done.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
I'm sorry, because all you're gonna do is win one
of the next two games and you're in the driver's seat.

Speaker 8 (32:28):
Yeah, you know, let me tell you each other.

Speaker 12 (32:29):
I agree with you, except for the choke part.

Speaker 8 (32:32):
Because let's be honest, that wouldn't be a choke.

Speaker 12 (32:35):
No, because the champs could actually start playing like the champs,
and that could be a problem. They You got to
realize they twenty five or one hundred from the three
point line.

Speaker 4 (32:49):
At some point the numbers are gonna start.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
Yeah, but the Knicks haven't played great either, Like, go
look at the numbers. Jalen Brunson was six for nineteen.
He can play better, Like there are guys Miquel Bridges
didn't have a point for the first three quarters, you know,
like they can improve and play better.

Speaker 12 (33:08):
We were down twenty three quarters, so you know, we
ain't playing good. But one thing I have to say,
and this is what I love.

Speaker 8 (33:18):
We are playing good when he counts. Now, you guys,
when the game is tied and it's either way, we
do what we have to do.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
You did think that again? Real quick?

Speaker 2 (33:32):
It don't sound confident that this he's did for a
minute then changed. No, what's changed with Leon?

Speaker 8 (33:38):
You're not no, no, no, I'm very no.

Speaker 12 (33:40):
Listen, I'm very confident, but like I started off the
show saying, I'm a common sense negro.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Okay, okay, okay, So you know I'm gonna bean.

Speaker 12 (33:50):
I'm gonna be confident, but I'm not gonna be over confident.

Speaker 4 (33:52):
All right, I respect it?

Speaker 8 (33:54):
Lee?

Speaker 1 (33:54):
Real quick, before you go get real quick, we got
about lesson a minute. You played in so many classic movies,
so many that are staples, especially with black folks. Let
me ask you this, Serious Temptations or the Five Heartbeats?
Which one do you say people bring up to you
the most. Which one is the one people have questions,
they stop you about, they ask.

Speaker 4 (34:11):
You what they talk to you about?

Speaker 8 (34:14):
Wow? Wow, wow?

Speaker 12 (34:15):
I would say I would say the Temptations one because
it's more recent and it plays more. But also because
of that line that I said, Ain't you know like
if if I don't hear that every day of my life,
I must be dead.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
Well let's make sure you hear it today. Ain't nobody
trying to see you otis.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
But that's good.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
Like like if if you can have a line where
people I know it's annoying, but it's great that you
that that sticks with people for sure?

Speaker 12 (34:46):
Well, yeah, that's why that's that's why I went to
the problem of trademarketing.

Speaker 8 (34:50):
Thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
There you go, smart man, smart man, smart man.

Speaker 10 (34:53):
For sure.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Leon, we appreciate you and talk to you again.

Speaker 8 (34:56):
I appreciate you guys too, Nick go Nick.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
All right, there you have it man.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Nick.

Speaker 4 (35:01):
Fans are excited for sure, but I'm kind of with you.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
Rob.

Speaker 4 (35:03):
You can't blow this opportunity to be up too well.

Speaker 3 (35:05):
I'm not buying anybody whom Nick Fannel says, Oh, if
they don't win, it's okay.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
If it was one you stole one.

Speaker 12 (35:11):
I get that.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
You got two in Boston.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
You got to two in Boston, not that like like
you won two at home and Boston Rainy Champs.

Speaker 4 (35:19):
You gotta win this, all right? Hey, we got shop talk.
We do shop talk.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
It's The Couple, Rob Parker, Kevin Washington Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
I will have you fired if you play anything from
nineteen ninety five and up.

Speaker 4 (35:49):
I'm convinced you did.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
Now I was Sam was playing stuff that nobody knew.

Speaker 1 (35:55):
No, that's what I'm saying. You told I was say
have you pulled them over to the side here? I know,
Alex say here right now. But if you don't play
stuff from nineteen ninety five and below, I'm gonna have
your job.

Speaker 9 (36:04):
Is that?

Speaker 4 (36:04):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (36:06):
I mean, I don't I don't know. This was Sam's
not here? Are you following the show or not?

Speaker 1 (36:11):
You made Marcus here now, I'm talking about Sam earlier,
Mark now in Alex every other day.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
Dang it. It is the odd couple.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Rob Parker Kelvin Washington on a TV thing so on
Thursday that at one point maybe we'll play something for
ninety two and up.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
You can have no control over.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
Do you see me doing anything? I'm not playing it.
That's a that's a great put your on up right now.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
That good job.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
Let me see. I do not text Mark. I did
not tell you.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
I know Kelvin might ask for something more recent, but
I'm just saying you know, hey, I've been here longer.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
So Kelvin has never asked for a game to be
on or for a TV theme.

Speaker 4 (36:43):
So give me wait till I get back, and I
want my two teams.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Rob g Am I right or wrong? I mean, I'm
just telling I'm speaking right. You can't turn left rock.

Speaker 4 (36:50):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
You haven't ever heard anything like im plained it about
the theater. But if never, Mart said, I have played.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
Something from nineteen ninety and up ten times to every
now and again he will sprinkle in a little something
something from that has something to do with me. Yeah,
because I know you over there whispering to him, So.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Don't so on the TV theme song, whisperers that yes
at one thousand percent.

Speaker 5 (37:45):
You're in the eye couple say when we talk about

the met Gala happened this week and as you guys know,
everybody was there except Lebron.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
I was trying to go to the Yankee galap But
that's another very very exclusive, more elusive than on day
party which I was at.

Speaker 5 (38:02):
Here's the question, Ron, which exclusive party would you rather
go to? The Met Gala or the white party? That
Rick Rubin throws.

Speaker 4 (38:14):
Is that from me?

Speaker 3 (38:15):
First, I think I'd rather go to the white party
because I've been to all the black parties, so I
just figured that it would be great to go to
the white party once in a while.

Speaker 11 (38:26):
Why not, Mazi, You know, the Met Gala seems a
little stressful a little bit, and know the other one
snoody too. White parties think I think they're both snoody,
but I think the White Party is less stressful as
to what I'm gonna wear. Oh, I gotta wear white?

Speaker 10 (38:44):
Okay, great?

Speaker 2 (38:45):
The other ones like there's a theme.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
What is this theme?

Speaker 2 (38:48):
I gotta kind of look weird so I stand out.

Speaker 11 (38:51):
You know, it's too much worry.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
About Kelvin wants to go to both Kelvin, where are you?

Speaker 7 (38:56):
Like?

Speaker 1 (38:59):
The mech Gallo, as you mentioned, is Grant standing is
over the top, and I understand that also. The White
Party is a little more contemporary, little more young and him.

Speaker 4 (39:07):
However, I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
I do feel like there might be I'm a little worried,
like the White Party scares me a little bit, like
are we in the years before something crazy come out
about those parties too?

Speaker 4 (39:19):
Like you know what I mean. I'm a little nervous
about those.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Parties, about the mac Galla.

Speaker 1 (39:23):
Yeah, but well I have no choice because this my
choices Rob presented with me. Okay, then I got to
find a lesser of the two evils.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
Where are you robbed?

Speaker 5 (39:32):
I thought it was easy, but the more I think
about it, I gotta go with the met Gala because
the only white party I recognize is the one.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
I'm gonna throw this summer to celebrate my pro sectimy?
Is that right?

Speaker 4 (39:41):
Yep?

Speaker 5 (39:41):
He y'all if my wife lets me have it, y'all
invited the white puss. She's saying that this is the
dumbest idea ever and that I can't have a white party.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
Can I bring my scissors?

Speaker 8 (39:50):
Though?

Speaker 13 (39:50):
When I'm coming everybody, it's gonna be themed. If there's
gonna be so many there's all around every y, there'll
be the little scissors that you had in dang, you know,
you know it's funny.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
Gary on On, the comedian, just posted today that he
was doing this, you know, comedy stand up and the
guy in the crowd goes, hey, do you recognize these hands?
He goes, what kind of looks like? Who said that?
He goes, yeah, I did your vasectomy?

Speaker 2 (40:15):
And he looks again.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
He's like, oh my god, my doctor's here, and he
just does a whole bit about which man, you didn't
seen my stuff?

Speaker 4 (40:21):
And he goes, was she there because the nurse and
she was all fine and stuff. He was all embarrassed.
So it was freaking hilly. You're not alone, robb g.
You're not alone, broight, he said, the small scitson Robbi.
He said, nail clippers. Come on, don't let him. Do
you like that rob she the nail clipper boys
