to uh send out love, prayers.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
And admiration for all the veterans. Great, I'm glad you
did that. That's all the veterans.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
My dad, my late dad, and my brother both served
in the military. That just wasn't my cup of tea,
but those guys did. I always admired them for doing so.
And for all the people out there who have served
the country. On this Veterans Day, happy Veterans date or
all of folks, I'm so happy is appropriate?
Speaker 2 (01:37):
That's why.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Yeah, Well as love, yes, uh, you know what I mean,
spect admiration, yeah, all of that.
Speaker 5 (01:45):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
And maybe it's happy for something that that they get
their flowers, you know what I mean. They feel maybe
may feel under someone. I think someone said to me
a veteran like, I don't know, happy is the right, Yeah,
but whatever turn, they would try to do the Absolutely,
we appreciate your service and a lot of of it.
And again appreciation goes towards them, for sure.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
No doubt. All Right, we're gonna talk about Lions.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Sunday Night Football on NBC had a thriller there that
was a horribly good, fun, terrible game and the Lions
went on the field goal late, but it was it
was really a weird game and that Jared Golf turned
into Jared Tennis. And you know, this is where a
(02:28):
lot of people have always been and this is why
I always talk about about the m v P it
just takes one bad night and I mentioned this to
you and then you're out of the running. You're like,
this is if you don't if you haven't won it,
or you don't have a track record.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
Lamar Jackson, you couldn't be anymore right, meaning if he
were chasing who else is Josh Allen or something?
Speaker 2 (02:46):
But he lamar, stuff looks so incredible. And then you
had a night like last night.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Wait, those five interceptions, it's just hard to come back
from that.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Like it wasn't.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
Three of them are off a guy's chest where it's
like the best he threw some that I was like, bruh.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
But but we do have Do we have a hot take?
Rob g all right, here we go listen here.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Time to reheat an old hot take.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
My chest is out, all right, let me see first.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
It's microwave take with the cup of I'm gonna take
the Texans.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
You just say stun Nico's coming back. I think he
mis remembers he's bad offense the Lions.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Man.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
There you're having your interceptions. Wow, well I was off
I was wrong. I'm admitting that I was wrong. I
said four and Jared Tennis had five. I was he
had five.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
He did.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
But the best part is you ignored the entire estimated
the entire first half of the take.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
No, I picked the Texans, and and and and this
is my thing.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
They a colossal choke job by the Texans. I don't know.
And that have we seen the statuet, rob G.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
A team that gets five interceptions and doesn't win in
the NFL is almost hard.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
The last thing to do that was, believe it or not,
Matt Ryan and the Falcons had did that. I want
to say in twenty eleven that was the year. But
they've done it too. But yeah, usually five interceptions, you're losing.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
You when you okay, rob G, what what else you got?
Speaker 6 (04:18):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (04:19):
It gets even worse than that, Doug, you were right
on track. Here's one that makes it even worse if
you're a Texans fans. Teams were three seventy three one
and one when leading by at least fifteen points and
securing at least five interceptions.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
It's just unheard.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
But I don't even sign that many games have been
played in history. That's three hundred. You never want to
be an opposite of a three hundred and seventy three of
anything that is incredible.
Speaker 8 (04:41):
Three three seventy seventy three, one in one. That is absurd,
it is but that but that is how the chances
of losing that game. But here's a big thing. And
we asked you, you know, what did you take from
this because I heard some takes. Oh, it tells me
about a good team and and them being able to
(05:01):
win when they don't play well. And it's a reflection
of the Lions. And of course I don't see it
that way.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
And here's the reason why, because of course they didn't
dive deep enough into the Texans to really be able
to validate that. If you told me that the Texans
were a great second half team, and my god, see
see I always go back to Bill Belichick and the
Super Bowl against the Rams when Jared Golf was quarterback.
(05:28):
They averaged thirty five points that year and they got
three in the Super Bowl. Tells me you did something
to stop a team like that. The greatest show on
turf again got stopped in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Okay, in this case.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
The Texans were right on script. The Lions didn't do
anything that no one else has done.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
Hear this.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
They haven't scored a touchdown in the second half in
a month, you hear me in a month. Coming into
Week ten, the Texans were averaging nine point one points
in the second half. They haven't scored a second half
touchdown since Week six. It ain't about the Lions defense,
(06:16):
because whoever they played, the Jets shut them out in
the second.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Half last week right the week before.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
This season, Houston has been outscored by fifty nine points
after halftime, with that differential ranking ranking them thirty first
in the league. So the Lions didn't do anything special.
The Texans did and were who we thought they were.
(06:42):
They did what they they did, what they've done all
year long. That's why this was a choke job and
not an unbelievable win by the Lions.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
Number one, if everything you just said was true, why'd
you pick the Texans? If you're telling me everything I
thought that they just told you, I didn't say. But
if you're saying they don't score in the second half,
they don't.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
They don't do perceptions you should score, right.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
So here's where I don't understand how you don't give
credit to the Lions. And you know, five interceptions absolutely
according to rob g Stats, that means we're going to
lose this game. But I knew in our timestamped this
text to a had to a buddy of mine. He
was talking smack about the Lions, and I said, they're
gonna find a way to come back and win this.
(07:28):
And to your point, it wasn't solely just the Lions.
It was that the Texans weren't doing anything with those turnovers.
If I give you five interceptions, you better do something
with those. And shout out to Aaron Glenn, who I've
had some issues with the defensive coordinator for Lions over
the last years. He had some good games, some bad
games and ben but don't breaks. They were able to
come in there, and you saw Dan Campbell looked like
(07:49):
a prophet during the interview at a halftime coach, what
do you need to do to get back in this thing?
Our defense is gotta turn somebody and aception live while
the man is.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
What is he gonna say to you? At the hend?
You could have said a million things.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
He literally said, get a turnover and we just score points.
We don't if we just score points, And he literally
called it right as they're getting an interception. So the
issue for the Texans is they didn't do anything with those.
That's how I knew the Lions were gonna mess this,
mess around and win this thing, because Jared Goff, you
can't keep giving somebody chances. You can't keep giving an
(08:23):
offense chances that has scored a lot, that's leading league,
one of the top league points per game, And they
kept giving the offense chances the Lions, and they kept
giving them chances to stick around, and that's what happens.
And you kind of didn't like the point, but I
love the point. On a championship run, you're going to
have so many close games. You're gonna have games where
(08:44):
you feel like, who we escaped out of that by
the hair on our chinny chin chin. You're gonna have blowouts.
You're gonna have games where you come back from behind.
And that's a part of a championship caliber team. They
didn't fold. They didn't say, oh, it was just not
our tonight. Jared Goff didn't just say, man, just ain't
my night tonight. He kept telling the team and I'm
not saying what I think he literally said. He kept
(09:04):
telling the teams, y'all keep keeping me in this, I'm
gonna figure it out. And he did that that defensive.
The unit came to ball and I have to a
and a kicker who wasn't even in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Has had an amazing season this far.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
I hope he doesn't miss one of the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
Fifty fifty two yarder to win it very very great
comeback for me. And I just look at the team
as that's the similar. Two things happened for two teams.
We'll talk about the other one later, but two teams.
Who are the best two teams right now? I for one,
not one, two and three. They found out how to
win and find a variety of ways to win. And
that's what the championship caliber team does. You're not gonna
(09:41):
be blowing out everybody. It ain't about blowing out people.
What I'm trying to tell you is this is who
the Texans are the lot. You can't show me what
the Lions did that was different from any other team.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
To the Texans in the second half, Well, I.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
Gave you all the numbers. Let's go back. I just
I gave you all the number. Back to the numbers
you said averaging nine points a game in the second half.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
The Lions gave them zero nine points.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
No, but they touchdowns zero zero zero touched out the.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Four games right zero for us to win this game.
They shut them down to no more points.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Also, you can look at the five interceptions, but they
also gave you back two interceptions, so it's a three
it or so.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
What I'm saying is it's not a five to the
Lions defense. That's what I'm saying, Aaron, I'm gonna down that.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
I'm saying that the Texans are the same team all year,
which is they don't do anything in the second half.
Is what I'm saying. They didn't. It wasn't like this
is my point. The Texans are averaging twenty one points
in the second half all year, the last four weeks,
and the Lions shut them out in the sect. Oh
my god, the defense was unbelievable. How did you shut
(10:53):
them downs? It's just like the Kansas City Chiefs. They
can't score in the red zone. You want to give
Denver all the credit that they could that the Chiefs
had six points in the second half, two field goals.
This is who the Chiefs are. They don't score in
the red zone. It's what I'm trying to say to you,
is that the Lions didn't do something different to the Chiefs,
(11:15):
just like I brought up the Cowboys. The Cowboys got
beat like a drum again. This is who they are.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
Everybody anytime a team wins. They did nothing, That's not
what I said. Literally held them to no points. They
scored thirteen. They didn't fold. They didn't just say, oh,
it ain't our game tonight. That happens. They didn't do
what the Ravens have done. How many people the time
said that the Texans show? You think that? You think that?
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Do you think that people think that Texas shoke last
night or not?
Speaker 4 (11:45):
I'm sure absolutely people think the check that's a Texans
show for sure. It ain't. What I'm saying is you're
making the Texans look like a horrible team.
Speaker 6 (11:53):
There.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
They were six and three going into this game. But
I'm giving you the You did not when they haven't
scored in the second that was gonna touch on the
second half.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
In four weeks. Why would you start.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
You're not making anything because I told you Jered Golf
was gonna throw four picks, so they thought they would
cast your man, That's what I That's why I picked them.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
Okay, so I would score nine points a game.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
I was the Lions scored that hell them the none
the Lions themselves, who did not have a great first half,
turned around and scored thirteen uh in the second half.
So my point is the Lions did exactly what they
were supposed to do and the Texans, Yes.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
C J.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
Stroud, by the way, has a bunch that he wants
to get back. He didn't rush a quarterback as he
was a year's going everybody. He said they would go
on to the Super Bowls. And they're still a good
team and I would love to be the coach of
this team that I don't think they're a good team
right now. No, they're not right now. They're part of
a good team. It is that they had been injured.
The offensive line great, They're just not that good. But
I still I'm saying this team is still a good
(12:50):
team in the future and even this season, they're still
gonna I wouldn't want to play them. They're still gonna
have some games that they'll beat, some teams that we're
gonna say, where'd that come from?
Speaker 6 (12:57):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (12:57):
They still see they Stroud look really good. The first
he forced a lot. I think he was uncomfortable. I
think he felt like his offensive line was they have
they been earlier in the season. He forced some things.
I think he was freaking out starting to get scared
back there. But overall, again, I just think you're looking
at the best team in the NFL, a team that
is able to win a multitude of ways.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
And I think I don't think they're better than the Ravens.
I don't care what the record is.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
I do not, even with their bad defense, I don't
think that they're better that.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
That's fine if you want to pick that. I'm not bad.
The Ravens are the Ravens. But to me, I'm looking
at the Chiefs and the Lions and the Ravens at
the top three teams, and I'm taking the Lions over
anybody right now, just based off of the multitude of
ways in which they can win. And I think last
night was another night that they were able to do that.
And I was impressed by that because you kind of go,
all right, they're not gonna go you know, seven and one.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
If they lost, they lost, And Jared Goff had five
interceptions when you said the seasons over, No.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Would the season be over? Okay?
Speaker 4 (13:51):
Just wait, that makes sense? Like, no, I'm saying that
they're not gonna go undefeated. They're gonna lose. They're probably
gonna lose one to two more again, maybe for the
rest of the season. I don't care as individual, one
singular game as opposed to what they've done now for
two years, the second half of two years, this year,
last year, in this year, they look great. They look
(14:11):
like a great team. Now, they look like what we expected.
How the Chiefs had had that run where they look
like a great team for a year after end year
after end years.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
All I'm gonna say to you is the Texans choked
in that game because they didn't cash in. You can't
get that many and the record that Rob you gave
us is proof positive.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
You're supposed to win that game. You can't.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
You can't. You can't choke that game down. That's a choke.
That's just like when the when the Wars were up
three to one against against the Lakers, I mean the Calves,
you could say, oh my god, Lebron came back. That's
a choke job because guess what, nobody had ever done
it in the history of the NBA's If that jobs
(14:56):
in sports, and that's my point, how.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Do you get it done? You have to be participate.
It's two parts to this. I have to get it
on triple double. Yeah, Okay, I'm not disagreeing, ok, But
I'm gonna do it. This participatory thing.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven

the Lions or the Houston Texans.

Lions earned it? What SAU eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox that we got?
Speaker 1 (16:20):
All right, Andrew in Bakersfield, California. You're on the couple
of Fox Sports radios.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Up.
Speaker 5 (16:27):
What's up, guys?
Speaker 2 (16:28):
What's up? Man?
Speaker 6 (16:29):
All right?
Speaker 5 (16:30):
So the Lions game. One thing I noticed was if
Jared Goff has five picks, okay, it seems to me
like they're forcing the pass. And then when they started
to run the ball, you know, you gotta have a
good balance because if the defense expects the pass, you know,
what do you expect? If the defense expects to run,
(16:52):
then they can jam it up. But that's what I noticed.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Well, okay they did, Andrew, did they choke or not?
Speaker 2 (17:01):
The Texans? Yes or no?
Speaker 5 (17:04):
H Well, I was listening to the game on Fox
Sports Radio like with updates, and so I don't know
what I missed. I thought the Texans had four interceptions and.
Speaker 4 (17:15):
They had five in Alliance Tattoo, you're saying I don't
know if you made through interception or got it.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Either way, Thank you for the call, Andrew, appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Scott in North Carolina, Scotty, you're in the couple of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
What's up, buddy, what's up?
Speaker 6 (17:28):
Are you doing doing well? Brother?
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Appreciate the cap.
Speaker 9 (17:32):
Yes, the the Texas definitely choked to get five interceptions
and not put points on the board. Definitely choked. I
think this game told us more about the Detroit You
stopped the run and make Jared Goff pass. I don't
think he's the same guy. I honestly don't think they're
the best team in the league or in the NFC East.
I think the Eagles are better than them.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
We look at the Alliance.
Speaker 6 (17:55):
Yeah yeah, look at the head coach.
Speaker 9 (17:58):
The head coaches are saying. The offense of lines is
saying they can run the ball, and the Eagles have
a way, way, way better defense the line does, and
we have equity. We did it before we reached the
Super Bowl. So, I mean, he just told me a
lot about Jared Goff and that.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
I take that bat and that is the big thing
is that's why you've heard people analysts and what I
say about Jared Golf is like forcing him into throwing.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
The ball as the offense, and that's not what you want.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
That's why when he had the big number when they
were winning and he's having to think the high percentage,
he wasn't throwing the ball a lot. He had three
touchdowns and eighty three yards because he's not throwing a lot.
They're a running team, and I get it because it works.
But you don't want Jared Golf throwing the football.
Speaker 6 (18:44):
Nobody.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
That's their strength running two running backs Montgomery and Gibbs.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
Get busy.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Yep, Dion in Texas, you're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
What's upon.
Speaker 6 (18:54):
College?
Speaker 10 (18:55):
Sorry, bros. But Dan campb I ain't no Sirianni.
Speaker 6 (18:58):
We take a Dan Campbell. I don't know what he
was on, bro me neither.
Speaker 10 (19:01):
He's on that fan boy stuff.
Speaker 6 (19:03):
But look, check this out.
Speaker 10 (19:04):
I think we learned a lot.
Speaker 6 (19:05):
About both teams.
Speaker 10 (19:06):
I mean, just keep in mind, Houston was just playing
a last place schedule last year. This year they're playing
a first play schedule called their quarterback was a beast
last year. He played without a few of his receivers,
his top nots receivers, and they made a few mistakes
last night that have to be expected, and we learned
a lot about Detroit because, hey, no matter what, they
went on the road, they beat a good team that's
going to be in the playoffs most likely they were
going to win the AFC South and they beat a
(19:27):
good playoff team and they just never quit. They showed
their pedigree.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
They the I mean, you don't want the game. It
wasn't like why would they quit when they were down
in the first half? There was still a second half
of football.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Correct, I mean the Lions.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah, like they were No, they weren't. They weren't down
like by forty they were with then what was twenty three?
What was the twenty three to.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Going to a half?
Speaker 10 (19:52):
Yeah, but that's the point. That is the point that
those guys they played the way that they always played
and that's why they won. They didn't give up and
they showed who they are.
Speaker 6 (20:03):
That is championship pedigree. Those guys are the best team
in the NFC.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Thanks for the call, taught that talk, Dan, I appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (20:08):
Man.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Yeah, they were down twenty three to seven. It's not
the games not over, not over. You can play.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
But but you know what, listen, you've been watching sports
way too on and I understand some people already tap out.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
All right, man, we're gonna have to get him next game,
all right, what we're gonna do?
Speaker 4 (20:20):
Dam it's one. They just won our night, you know,
it's okay, one our night. That happens, and they didn't.
They chose not to. They chose to keep competing and
find a way and got that turnover right literally first
play of the second half.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Definitely helps.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
They didn't even really score off of that, but just
getting them back in their Mojoe. We got Rob Woodson
right in just a moment. We'll get to him.
Speaker 3 (20:37):

Speaker 6 (21:01):
What's up my brothers?
Speaker 2 (21:03):
You man a Rod?
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Come on, man, you get five interceptions in the game
and you don't win. That's a choke job to me.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
How in the world. Did they the Detectans not win
that game?
Speaker 6 (21:17):
Man, I'll tell you what. Uh, it's really hard to
believe and watching the game and they had the opportunity
to win it and they get the ball. I mean,
it's just the way everything unfolded for him. You know,
they're they're there. They played great football, especially in the
first half, right was really the first half they played
great football, And in the second half, I don't know,
(21:37):
they just don't show up, and I just don't know,
you know, a couple of the passes, it seems like
Trout was just trying to be too.
Speaker 10 (21:46):
Too cautious.
Speaker 6 (21:47):
I mean, he was just throwing some lob balls and
of them the one in the end zone.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Then that was a terrible lot pass that this receiver
had no shot to catch. Yeah.
Speaker 10 (21:56):
Well, no, he had a shot, but he had to
throw it out toward the pilot.
Speaker 5 (21:59):
No.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
No, but I was saying, I was saying, I was
saying the past rod, not that he didn't have a
it was open.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:08):
So I mean it's that is a remarkable that they
didn't play, they didn't finish the game, but it's remarkable
that Detroit is just that gritty I mean they're down,
They're like, I don't care if I'm down. They just
kept fighting, kept fighting, kept getting They take They took
advantage of the opportunity that Houston gave them, and they
won the football game.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Now, let me ask you this is this what you
want to do, though, is have Jared Golf throw the ball?
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Uh? And not like the Lions got away from what
they do, which is run the football. And people say,
if you let Jared throw the ball enough, this could happen. No,
not five interceptions.
Speaker 6 (22:46):
I can't Yeah, I can't say that he's that bad. Right,
He's a He's a good quarterback. He's a play action quarterback.
To me, he is a quarterback that needs to run
games and play action pass and throw those shot passes
or the enemy passes or even the screen. But the
run game is critical for Jared Golf to be the
(23:06):
quarterback that the Detroit Lions need consistently. If they can't
run the football and Jared Golf has a football stified
forty times, they're in trouble.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Yeah, that's absolutely not what they want to be rob.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
What'son joining us of course, Hall of Fame, dB, Fox
Sports Radio, NFL analysts I stick with that game, and
I'll add you one more.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
The Kansas City Chiefs, they get that block so lucky.
I want to ask you this one.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
I want to ask you this before we get to
are they lucky or not? As Rob wants to ask you.
My question is if you're the Lions, if you're the
Chiefs and you win these close games like that, what
does that tell you about your team?
Speaker 2 (23:38):
What does it tell the league about those teams?
Speaker 6 (23:40):
Well, listen, it's hard to play perfect football every week.
You want to play winning football every week, and winning
football doesn't look good sometimes, and the really good teams
can play kind of ugly and still get victories, and
that shows you the caliber of team that they do have.
I mean, the Kansas City Chiefs not played teper Mahomes
(24:02):
has not had a great year.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Thank you. I'm glad you will.
Speaker 6 (24:05):
I know now he's had critical plays inside of the
games that yes, he has, but he hasn't played to
his standard and they're still nine to Oh that's kind
of scary. That's I think that's been in the message
to the rest of the AFC. And then the Detroit Lions.
They're playing great football. I think overall, great football offense, defense,
(24:26):
sputter teams. They're doing everything they have to do to
be the number one team in the NFC. So you know,
I think they're both sending messages out to to the
to the each conference. But the Kansas City Chiefs hasn't
played great football offensively. They just find a way to
make one or two plays offensive lea throughout a game
and in critical moments. And then he how do you
(24:49):
how do you get the field goal block? The winless
things that.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Only a thirty five yard to put all that light
into it?
Speaker 1 (24:56):
And Ron, I'm gonna say this, Lions Chiefs that's on
the Ravens are the best team.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
To me, I don't care what their record is.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
I know they started owing to what I saw against
the Bengals in that game where the defense didn't show
up and Lamar and and I still I love the
way I love what Lamar and even in that game
Derek Henry only had like sixty eight yards and Lamar.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Put on a put on an unbelievable show. I mean,
is he not the MVP him?
Speaker 6 (25:27):
No, he is definitely the MVP. That's right, I get
that to him, He's definitely the MVP. The only question
I still have with the Ravens. You know, I call
their game, right, yep, we know. Is it that this
the path coverage has to get better? Yes, whatever it is.
Whatever is it, If it's pre snap communication, if it's
post communication, it was bad leverage, whatever it is, which
(25:52):
is kind of a combination of all what I just said.
I think they just have to they got us somewhere
along the line. They're at thirty second right now in
the National FOOTBA League in.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
The season US, that's terrible.
Speaker 6 (26:03):
You just need to get to like eighteenth twentieth. You
are a Super Bowl representative of the AFC, because I
don't think because I think offensively, I think taking the
scorg is any defense. I think when they played Kansas
City at the beginning of the year, they didn't know
what they were. They don't know how to do Derrick Henry,
(26:23):
they and Lamar wasn't playing. I mean obviously he didn't
play the preseason, so he was just getting his first reps.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
And they still almost tied that game. They could have.
Speaker 6 (26:32):
Won the game. So if they can just get the defense,
especially the past defense, to get to about twenty twentieth
in the National Football League, if they can do that.
Their defense is solid, they get out to the quarterback,
they press the quarterback, they can stop the run. They
just got to make sure they can keep everything in
front of them, and when they have opportunities to get interceptions,
they got to get those interceptions right.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
I don't know, Man, you're gonna have to dust off
your jersey or something to get out there.
Speaker 6 (26:57):
Out both my knees. I need to Rob.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
They look bad.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
It's like they don't even not even paying attention. I mean,
they made Jamar Chase look like Jerry Moss, Jerry Rice
and Randy Moss combined out there. It looked ridiculous.
Speaker 6 (27:12):
I know, I mean it's it's it was one was
just a just a seam route, and nobody knew if
they were taking a seam.
Speaker 4 (27:18):
Let's just not guard the best receiver or one of them,
arguably in the entire NFL. Rob, let me throw these
at you, because one of the things Rob and I
we got, he's we're both big on the Ravens. I
think the Lions are the best team. But again, he knows,
I'm not mad at the Ravens. The Chiefs, Lions kind
of the best three for me. Don't want to go
to the second tier teams, teams that don't necessarily get
in the copy of the time slots on shows. You
(27:39):
got the Eagles, you got the Commanders, you got the
seven to two, seven and three, you got the Bills
at eight and two, and obviously the Vikings still sitting
around at seven and two. Just get looking at some
of these teams who jumps out at you that you say, hey,
don't sleep on them, don't forget about them. They may
be able to one of those teams you don't want
to see. All the Steelers too as well. Get you say, hey, man,
(28:00):
watch out for them.
Speaker 6 (28:02):
The Steelers. The Steelers took good because Russell is playing
way better than he played in Denver, because he is
playing to his strength. Right run the football, play action pass.
That's that's the type of question.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Did you see that throw he made? Who was that?
Mike Williams new receiver for Mike Williams. Mike, that's beautiful
ball right there.
Speaker 6 (28:21):
I mean, he throws a great deep ball, he really does.
And then they're playing really good defense, they're playing better offense.
He's throwing the ball down the field, giving his receivers
opportunities to make catches. I mean, Buffalo looks great. I
think they're they're outstanding, you know, thinking about who like
what they can be. They've played well defensively, they played
(28:41):
better than I thought they were gonna play this year.
To be honest, to be true, I think the Chargers
are somewhat scary because their defense is pretty good.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
We can I say this to you Rod their record, Uh,
there's six wins all two against teams under five hundred.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Like they haven't beaten anybody.
Speaker 6 (29:00):
No, but I mean you be who you play.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
No, I know, I'm just trying to say but that,
but that's scary to me.
Speaker 6 (29:06):
And I think the Eagles are freaking The Eagles look
really good. I mean their defense is starting to play
the way they played a couple of years ago. And
the offense, what Barkley are the man? I mean the
running he had a couple of weeks ago, you know
last week, not that one play. So you know, how
do you if you're the New York Giant. I just
don't understand again, how do you affect him leave New York?
Speaker 1 (29:29):
That that those guys in that front office and ownership
should be embarrassed that they picked Daniel Jones over Sa
Kwan Barkley.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
I'm serious. It still doesn't sense.
Speaker 6 (29:41):
Yeah, it won't make sense twenty years from now.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
When he's in the Hall of Fame with a yellow
jacket on, like there's y'all. Y'all didn't choose me. Hey, Rod,
we appreciate you man, having wonderful rest of your week.
Thank you so much.
Speaker 6 (29:53):
All right, I appreciate you.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
He is Rod Woods and baby.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
Oh yeah, Hey, I want to carry that conversation over
maybe some secondary teams that we're looking at that you know,
you and I haven't had a chance to really talk
about them too much that you look at and you
kind of say, all right, man, watch out for them.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
We'll do that.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
It's Rob Parker, kelvin Washington on a Magic City Monday.

(30:49):
that's Expresspros dot Com. Now side of the Express Pro
pro Theek and the Pro of the Week, it goes
to the Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. He completed seventeen straight
passes and account of were a total of two hundred
and eighty seven yards and three touchdowns and Sundays blowout
win over the Jets. So again, congrats to Kyler Murray
for being our Express Pro of the Week.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
He looks good. That team is one of those teams
man plays on this very show.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
We argued, I don't know if Rob G was involved,
but Chris was like, Kyler Murray was done there in Arizona.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
Uh, rob G, were you on that bandwagon too? Like?
Like it looked like I mean, he was more known
for his call of duty than he was for his
NFL prowess for a minute there.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
But he's made a comeback big time. You can't you
can't deny it. He's made a comeback.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
But sometimes I'm like, and this is a gift and
a curse of me as a person. I think I'm
able to kind of take a pause and look at
the long term thing. The totality of this trying to
put a happy smile on everything. No, no, no, the
totality will you just be negative and and no, And
I would only be negative when it mon off. So
(32:01):
like Kyler Murray, I saw too much talent in the year,
first year or year and a half, whatever.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
It was, but you also saw a terrible play for shame.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
There's there are moments where you looked at him and said, really,
like you made a mistake.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
You should have taken baseball.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
Well, shoot, I mean there's a conversation there.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
I told you.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
At the quarterback position, that's an issue. If he was
a wide receiver or if he was a linebacker, he'd
be playing baseball. But that quarterback position, boy got to
get you, because if you have one two good years,
you can get his aid like crazy. But yeah, I'm like, man,
he's too talent, he throws a ball too well, too strong,
he runs also didn't like some of his leadership attitude
type things. And he's obviously just a unique kind of
(32:39):
cat nab regard. He's not your typical raw rod the
group and get them all excited. But I'm like, man,
he's got to be He's just too talented for all
of a sudden him to just be a trash quarterback.
So now he's got that team playing well, man, and
they're kind of a team that shoot, you mess around
and don't want to play in the postseason just because
of the way they're scoring the ball right now. I
don't know if that did it hit the ground it
off might have been a Matthew Staff interception. In it's
(33:00):
Monday Night football. We'll see fifteen touchdowns now, sixteen interceptions. Yeah,
we'll see if that uh, if he caught it. Walker
junior linebacker there with an interception to the Dolphins, hit
the crownd the Dolphins looking like they got a chance
to come up and make some more points here, Unlike
let's see they do, unlike what the Texans did. But
now I wanted to throw out, man, some of these
(33:22):
second tier teams again, we kind of talk about let's
just see what hit the ball around he got that
we'll hit the round, but I think it was in
like he caught it.
Speaker 9 (33:30):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
Some of these second tier teams in the NFL, man,
that just aren't really for whatever reasons, getting kind of
the topic of the conversation, Like you look at the
Bills and what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
Man, they're kind of a scary team right now. I'm
staying with the Bills. Yeah, I get you, they're eight
and two. I'm more excited about like the Steelers.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
But they're right there in that listen to. Yeah, I'm
listening to teams that aren't necessarily getting a lot. In
another conversation, the Steelers right now, who are sitting at
what seven and two steal look good, Russell Wilson playing well,
throwing the ball well, defense playing obviously still what we
expected them to be. But the Bills defense has been
solid too, not great, but pretty good. And one of
(34:11):
the things you got to give credit to Josh Allen
about is the issue had been always turnovers, right, That's
been his achilles heels, Like, oh man, he's good, but turnovers.
And he's finally got that down where you can be
happy about this if you're his team. He has seventeen
touchdowns right now, only four interceptions, and that has been
his achilles hell throughout his season, where he gambled too
(34:34):
much or he tried to make the big play too much.
He's playing very well right now, quarterback rating of one
hundred point two on the season. So they're another team
again we haven't really talked about as well. He didn't
have a great game obviously yesterday, but just overall on
the season for him, seventeen touchdowns, four interceptions.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
So the Bills are kind of one of those teams.
What does Lamar have twenty four?
Speaker 1 (34:54):
He had twenty four last year and won the MVP
twenty four now twenty four and ten games games and yeah.
Speaker 4 (35:02):
And that's not even including just the rushing stats. Well,
so Lamar Jackson is unless I'm just saying the numbers
of he's MVP, and I can't think of a scenario
outside from injury where he's not MVP because he's not.
He literally is incapable of having multiple bad games in
a row because he's too talented, Like he can't the last.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
Four fourteen touchdowns and zero pick.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
Yeah, he can't, Like he can have a bad game
for him, Let's say he throws for one hundred and
ten rushes first seven, you know, maybe forty, and he's
gonna eat because he's too talented. He's gonna follow that.
He mad touchdowns. Yes, no, he's insane, That's what I'm saying.
You can't beat him right now, Like he's he's he's
peak Jordan, where it's like, oh, you just don't want
(35:49):
to give it to Jordan.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
Carl Malone was cool, but oh you just did.
Speaker 4 (35:54):
Charles Barkley had a nice season, really but you just
want to, Oh, David Robinson what you.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
Just be hard to do that to say you're you
got fatigue, Lamar fatigue just saying the kind of.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
You I'm saying, come saying it's an impossibility because there's
no other justification.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
The only like if.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
Joe Burrow his team had a better record, then you
can say, all right, because he's had multiple games throwing
four touchdowns, five touchdowns, he's been looking he lost both
of those, but he's lost those games too, So that's
the issue with him. Lamar's team is, you know, playing well,
they're winning. His numbers are crazy, So I mean, I
can't even think of a scenario because he's just incapable
(36:31):
of having multiple multiple games horror back.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
That's the hard part with I said this too about
Jared Golf, Right, if you have that bad game, it
really hurts you.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
If if you're who else am I thinking of, we're
talking about Josh Allen, if you're Rock Party, if you have.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
Rock Party last had the bad game on Christmas, that
really hurt his chances because up until that point that
when he was in the conversation, right, yeah, and Derek Can,
we just had sixty eight yards. So that whole two
thousand yard thing kind of takes a little bit until
you has another big game, but it.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Takes a hit. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (37:08):
He literally, I mean he's the best player in the
NFL singularly, Like he is the best player. And that's
including Patrick Mahomes as great as he has been, great
as he is, not about leg they're talking about just
Lamar Jackson is that guy. And again he's at the
point now he's checked off every bucks And which is
why I can understand wh people on the postseason post.
I get it because he's done everything else. Now he's
gonna known gonna be like everybody said Jason Tatum, he's
(37:33):
getting a ring. No, I know he is. I'm with
without a doubt you know why getting a ring. We'll
tell you next. Fox Sports Radio
