TV analysts and of course of Fox Sports Radio, NBA
analys and don't forget again, trash talking about forty minutes.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
So we got a lot to get to in this hour.
Number two, Rob g.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Matthew Stafford has been a disaster basically since that Seattle
game where they were up thirty to fourteen, ready to
make a statement. Looked like the Rams are going to
be the number one seed in the NFC, which would
have been a great road. You know, you only have
to win two games, they're both at home. It's a
huge advantage, it really is. That's what Tom Brady them
(02:29):
lived off of when they always had to just had
to win the two games and they were in Foxboro.
That that's a huge advantage.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
It just is.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
But he had an awful night. Three picks, a pick six.
He's now tied right with Brett Fahr for the most
picked sixes. Tied thinks is it thirty to thirty of
them or thirty two? I think it's thirty two of
them thirty two. Rob g just a synopsis of what
happened last night. Yeah, it was a rough night for
(03:00):
Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
He came into the game as the odds on favorite
to win the NFL MVP.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
He's having a great season.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
And then last night on National TV against an also
ran franchise that you could say for seeding purposes, they
didn't really have to win that game, right, because they're
in the playoffs regardless, But if you want to play
a different route, they own the Falcons first round pick
in twenty twenty six, so it would have behooved them
to beat them get a better pick for next season.
(03:27):
They fall behind twenty one nothing and the end up
losing the game. Stafford twenty two of thirty eight, two
sixty nine, two touchdowns, three picks, one of them a
picked six, as you mentioned, and in the excuse Me,
after throwing just two interceptions in the first eleven games,
right had the incredible start.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
We talked about it throughout the show.
Speaker 5 (03:46):
Stafford has now thrown six interceptions since Week thirteen. Only
Shadoor Sanders and Jets quarterback Brady Cook Let's have more
I INT's during that span. As a result, before the
game was even over, not only was Stafford not no
longer the favorite to win the MVP, he was a
(04:06):
distant second. As of eight pm Eastern here tonight, Drake
May is now the heavy favorite minus four hundred to
win the MVP. Stafford man has cost himself some hardware
last night.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
But I think he cost himself hardware.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
I really do.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
Uh. The way you finish is very important.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
And even though and even though, like again it's the Falcons,
it's not like the greatest game and the situation was
the greatest. But coming off of that loss to Seattle,
these are national games that people are watching, you know
what I mean. Not just people in LA watch them closely,
but these are national games. And then to see the
(04:47):
three interceptions, Okay, you could have had you could have
had one pick, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Three is a.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Really bad night, especially with his history and whatnot, and
he was bucking a lot of odds for a I
who had never really been considered right for all Pro. Right,
he's played a long time in the league, you don't
have any of those accolades. I think rob g three
time Pro Bowl, including this year, and two or the
(05:14):
three might have been in reserve roles where he took
over for somebody, right, two or the three maybe was
it one in one rob G before this year?
Speaker 4 (05:23):
It might have been, but I don't remember.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
I know he definitely was a reserve filling in for
somebody in one of those years.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
But anyway, and.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Then here's the MVP trophy, like on your lap, just
have you could have just played regular, not great, right
regular because he had piled up so many numbers. He's
been bad. And that that lost to Seattle. If you
go back and look at that fourth quarter, I think
they had three straight three and outs, Like seriously, So
(05:53):
people look at that, they look at what he did
last night, and I think even the people like me
who don't put that much stock, I don't have a
vote in the Patriots schedule. Whatever, what did he do
to a bad team? He destroyed the Jets almost He
had a perfect passer rating rob G right perfect ninety
(06:17):
nine point eight and here's this guy in Matthew Stafford
who's had this great season against a bad six and
nine Falcons team going nowhere fast, and instead you turn
him to stinker.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
I think he hurt herself. I think he could hurt
herself without a doubt. I don't, but I don't think
he costs himself the MVP. I still think it's his.
I think it's close if Drake May is around, but
out of a couple of things still working in Matthew
Stafford's favor, something's working against I think Drake May. I'll
start with Matthew Stafford. I do think the way he
bounced back and got back in that game actually helped
(06:53):
him in the sense that, all right, you were down
down big, twenty one to nothing, you were able to
fight back and been And how you look at it,
was that a coua catch? It wasn't. He made some
incredible throws ca But I mean my point is, I
think those players matter.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
They called it a non catch first, they didn't even
reverse it.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
I thought that was a ball moved. I thought that
was I thought he caught it. Yeah, I thought that
was a kid ball moved. It was clear, and they
called it incomplete the start. I'm just saying, but they
didn't reverse something that you thought so. But I think
the comeback in that game, making those big players at
the ending obviously the two two at well, but that
was a pass interference, So I think those things helped
him in that man look bad. How did he bounce back?
(07:38):
Similar to we talked about Josh Allen a couple of
two three weeks ago, but he was able to get
to win. But how do you when they come back?
When you I agree, but how did you look coming back?
Is it defeated? Did you keep throwing in him up?
Did you go Jared Golf or Jared Tennis? No, you
were able to bounce back and make that thing a
thrilling end where he almost had a chance to win it.
So I think that's also his favorite to me. Also
(07:58):
is those numbers that Rob he was talking about. When
you look at this Rob, My gosh, despite everything we
just talked about, well you you would think he had
a horrible season. The man has forty two touchdowns and
eight interceptions. That is very Aaron Rodgers, Like when Aaron
Rodgers was winning all those times.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
How I'm glady had better numbers than Aaron Rodgers and
still lost.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Right, But I'm just saying those are great numbers. If
I told you a guy has forty five hundred yards
and forty two touchdowns and eight interceptions with another game
to go, meaning he'd be inching towards five thousand, it's incredible.
So is this team in these standings? They are sixteen
fix six fifty.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
So another quarterback has similar stats, not as many touchdowns,
not as many touchdowns, but the same number of interceptions.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
You talking about Drake Man the same drag May numbers.
Aren't that he has thirty touchdowns?
Speaker 1 (08:49):
No, no, no, But I'm talking about as the same interceptions.
I think they both have eight.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Yeah, and he has thirty touchdowns. He has a few
more re rushing.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
Okay, But also his team is the number one seed.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
That and I'm glad you said that, And that's something
that's now let's get to that. Here's the Drake May
where I think voters may consider he has a luxury
of playing the Jets twice, the Giants, the Titans, and
stuff the Saints. Tom Brady from what his Saints, the
sense why he didn't win his many Saints Raiders and
the Bengals and the BROWNSD What I just said to you,
(09:23):
the Dolphins twice, the Jets twice, the Giants, the Titans,
the Saints, the Browns, and the Bengals. So I believe
people are gonna look at that as well. Matthew Stafford
is playing in the toughest division if you want to
say his NFC North, however, you know, NFC West, NFC North,
however you want to look at it, playing in an
incredibly tough division, playing very good teams. As we're looking
at a replay, we got on one of our TVs
against the forty nine ers, very tough team in the
(09:44):
Seattle Seahawks, and and even in that game, you can't
blame Matthew Stafford, and it says the man through four
and in forty.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Yards, you can't blame him because he had a terrible
fourth quarter and over time blame.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
I mean you can you can say, look at it,
if he would have got one drive, he could he
got three straight, three and out. He put up crazy
and the defense, which is supposed to be one of
their stronger fronts, let them down. So Drake Man has
had a phenomenal season. If you're a Patriot fan, you
have to be incredibly happy. Josh Allen, I don't think
(10:15):
he's in it as much. He obviously has a he's
had to go something crazy, But it comes down to
Matthew Stafford and Drake May and to me, at the
Matthew Stafford and he has a narrative to the Gunslinger,
finally gets one your favorite quarterbacks, favorite quarterback, and I
just think I I disagree.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
I think his reputation last night was this is the
Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
A lot of people know you. No, it's not only me.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
I'm not talking about the handful of guys who are
Most people are not NFL quarterbacks. Okay, most guys have
watched Stafford. And I just looked at Twitter and they
were like, Okay, Stafford wound up being Stafford when it
mattered most, because that he should.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Have mattered most. She almost came back and won.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
That he did not win, and they should have.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
Look, it shouldn't have been down twenty one nothing, he
shouldn't have had interception against a bad Falcons team.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
He should have maybe urging he should have destroyed them.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
And also it's the last two games the same way
that we saw Lamar going to San Francisco and take
that MVP from brock Purty on Christmas Day.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
All I'm saying is the way you finish. People look
at that.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
I don't have to say. They look at that.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
And if he doesn't have a just say he has
a bad day against the Cardinals and throws a couple
more picks, he ain't gonna win, no MVP.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Wow with I thought to see what Jake May did.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
I'm just saying, but I just thought that would be
a a bad finish.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
Rob g just talked about it.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
The two quarterbacks with the three quarterback backs with the
most interceptions in the same time spend the end of
the season, or should door Sanders?
Speaker 4 (11:44):
Who throws to a game? Who's that kid? Cooks with
the Jets?
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Brady cook. Brady cooks, but he's cooked.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
And now you've got Matthew Stafford, like, how could he
be rank with those guys?
Speaker 2 (11:56):
You're looking at seventeen weeks and he has forty two
touchdowns in eight interceptions strong and he may with forty five.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Hundred yall blew it already?
Speaker 2 (12:06):
No, he did not blow absolutely Now he's he's going
to win it. Voters are also gonna say Drake May
Comma May have more years at this. This is Matthew.
The way they look at it, he's he's These numbers
are incredible, rob his numbers are for It's also about eleven.
What is eleven and six? Eleven? Five?
Speaker 1 (12:26):
I would I would discount Matthew Stafford's season. They added
DeVante Adams, they got what are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (12:33):
They got Pooka. I'm just going ahead.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
They got Pooka, They got two of the two tremendous
wide receivers. He should be putting up crazy numbers with
those guys. Drake, may you know who you are?
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Right now?
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Drake may you are? You are strap missing on? Drake
may you.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Are stretched armstrong right now?
Speaker 4 (12:50):
Don't even make.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Sense the man Peyton Manning. Do you remember the Pro
Bowl Team, All Star Team that he would have, Reggie Wayne,
Marvin Hare, Stokely, Dallas Clark, all these dude? Why are
you talking? Edwin James. At times, depending on the year,
people always have load of team.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
He won multiple. He wasn't the last like Matthew Stafford.
This would be a biscuit at the end of his career.
People might Peters waiver that he doesn't have Davante. No,
he's been doing this without Davante. No, he's been terrible
without Davonte the last few weeks.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Crazy numbers against the Sea, all good defense without Davonte,
not when it mattered, not when it was winning time.
And I'm talking about he got Do you know the
guys that that the teams have had, the players they've
had when they've won MVPs tim teams, some guys have
been loaded when they had him won in some of
those MVPs.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Well, I'm just telling you that Drake May's case can
be made because his team is so good and their
Topdrake May the AFC. That's That's like Matthew Stafford when
you look at the way he finished ten days ago.
They were the number one seed ten days ago. So
it's not like they weren't the number one seed all
(14:04):
year and like all that, and then you wouldn't be
looking at that. You're looking at what happened at the
end of the year. How did this thing come undone?
How did they go from how did they go from
thirty to fourteen up? And then Matthew Stafford couldn't get
a first down in the fourth quarter?
Speaker 2 (14:18):
How did they lose?
Speaker 6 (14:20):
What?
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Bound don't even if I failed for Mars and I
listened to you right now, I would think he had
twenty eight touchdowns, twenty interceptions and his team was five
and left.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
You've seen where numbers. I would think it's not strictly
a numbers thing. And that's why I think, right, and
I think he has a number. And Drake may be
next year is what I'm gonna call him. Drake may
be next year, and I want to be accurate. So
Stafford has three Pro Bowls? Right, One was as a replacement,
so two as a as a Pro bowler and one
(14:50):
and how many years did he played? Twenty three year?
I mean Lebron was first. Oh I'm sorry, that was
first out seventeen? Okay, sorry, all right?
Speaker 4 (14:57):
An NFC team is all are you looking to replace
their young franchise quarterback. We'll get into that next, rob G.
That's a good tease right there. Did you write that
or di Alex? All right?
Speaker 2 (15:10):
No, no, you wrote it. By the way, I told
my wife my favorite thing we do. What's that? It's simple?
It is simple. It sounds like we do. And then
I tell her you grab your glasses, it's simple.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Where's my glasses and where's my phone? All right. It
is the odd couple.

to join us here in about five minutes or so,
and we'll do that in just a moment, all right,
(17:16):
and also trash talking coming up in twenty minutes again,
just to reminder, all right, So Rob gi the there's
some scuttle buttons rumors about the dot of the Dodgers,
the Giants possibly looking at a quarterback in the draft
even though they have Jackson Duart.
Speaker 5 (17:33):
Yeah, that is shocking, and that's why this game on
Sunday that just happened the Giants and the Raiders was
like the Super Bowl of sorts for one of those franchise.
They're like, hey, whoever loses this game has the driver's
seat to the number one pick in the draft. That's
big for the Raider because they needed quarterback. The Giants
is just like, hey, it's gonna give us flexibility. Not
so fast, because, according to NFL insider Ian Rappaport, even
(17:57):
though they ended up winning that game, so right now
they're currently picking second, the New York Giants will quote
evaluate all options, including looking at Heisman Trophy winning quarterback
Fernando Mendoza before they make a decision. Why is that
surprising because allegedly they already have their QB one.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
His name is Jackson.
Speaker 5 (18:18):
Darton and to his credit, they asked Dart about the
report after the game and he said, Hey, I'm not
gonna worry about it.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
I'm gonna keep playing ball.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
That's all I can focus on.
Speaker 5 (18:27):
But maybe the Giants are not happy with their QB one.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Well, Rob, you know, we've talked about this, and I
think this plays a major role. He's played pretty well.
He has had rookie moments, ups and downs like a season.
But if you look at it, two thousand yards sixty
three completion percentage, thirteen touchdowns, only five interceptions, and he's
almost rushed for five hundred yards as well with nine
touchdowns on the ground. So he's had a pretty good
season and obviously a lot of personality. And you kind
(18:54):
of if you're a fan of New York, you'd say,
all right, when we get our running back back and
our neighbors, our receiver back, maybe we got that's something cooking.
You can sell yourself on that. The issue is what
we've talked about a million times. What did he say
when they've brought up, hey man, maybe you want to
kind of stop running into these, you know, these tackles
and putting head first and going crazy and getting concussions.
He's already been in the tent five times and he
(19:15):
hasn't even played every game this season, more than other
quarterbacks who played the entire season. What did he say,
This is just how I play. This is football. I'm
gonna get hit if if I'm in the pocket, outside
the pocket. I feel like I played this way my
whole life. It shouldn't be any shocker to anybody if
you followed along with my career. We're not out here
playing soccer. You're gonna get hit. Things happen. It's just
(19:36):
part of the game. I played like this my whole life.
Turn on my high school tape, Rob Parker, turn on
my tech college Tate kelvin Washington. It's not a shocker
to anybody. That's that's how you're coming from this.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
And if I'm the Giants, I'm running the other way.
I'm just I'm not going to put my eggs in
a basket with a guy who's stubborn, who's not gonna listen,
who's not going to we need you long term, okay,
and to keep going into that tent and where we
have to Oh my god, on any play every Sunday,
there's a chance you can get knocked out the game.
(20:09):
That's not the quarterback I want. It's not because even
his numbers is rookie number. They're they're fine, but but
I'm sorry he didn't win turn us around, win these games,
you know what I mean? Where it was like, my god,
he's like the greatest thing since sliced bread. He's a
rookie quarterback, ups and down. Some good moments, some bad moments,
but not enough for me to try to blind eye
(20:32):
of that yea to hitch my wagon to him when
I know that he's going to instead of getting out
of bounds to avoid contact, when when there's a defensive
guy in front of him, he's going to lower his
shoulder and try to go head to head with the defender.
I don't want that guy. I don't because at that
point that makes no sense. Why why you're lowering your
(20:55):
shoulder to have contact.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
With a defense when we discussed this, clearly they've discussed it.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Okay, there's one play for us to make the playoffs,
and you need an extra yard and I need you
to go.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
John that jumping in over the winning super Bowl got you.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
I got you, I got that.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
But just normal plays in the middle of the season,
you're going to lower your shoulder.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
Oh no, I don't want that.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
You mean too much to us at that position. We
need you and we can't hold our breath. We can't
have you missing not even just something, let's not even
say a full game, Rob, We can't have you missing
plays because you're in the blue tent for a driver too,
like we need you. So yeah, he's got to learn.
And the stubbornness is what's crazy from a rookie. You know,
if This was if Josh Allen said, screw it, it's
just who I am. You kind of go all right,
(21:40):
we'll shoot. We didn't got this far. You know what
we're gonna do, is Josh well rookie? Come on, man,
That's what's shocking to me to speak that bold he
as a rookie.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Yeah, but even in Josh's case, I don't think he's
been in a ten five times.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Right, But I'm saying, but do you see what I'm saying,
like like we're having some issues already two concussions. I
think at least it was all right Antonio Daniels on
the other side of the updates. And then again, if
you want to jump in on trash talking now, if
you want to get in early eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox trash talk.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
And I'm not screening any calls. I'm just gonna sit
here and this you are, I'm not screening they are?
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Was that Rob Parker?
Speaker 4 (22:16):
Alex? Should I screen thumbs up for not even looking
at you?
Speaker 2 (22:19):
But did you give it? Alex? You know gen thumbs
up or thumbs down? Should he's not gonna talk to you?
You and I were wrong, Alex. We had these two
having it out before Christmas. We were we got close
that one day. That was true. We got close, but
we were wrong, all right, Steve Seger, what's tinning?
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
It is the odd couple.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
On a trash talking Tuesday, eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox. If you want to line up eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
That's right, And we are joined now by our guy
always love talking to a d all day. The man
is hustling. Antonio Daniels, NBA Champion, Serious Sex m NBA Radio,
Pelicans TV analysts, Fox Sports Radio, NBA analysts. Business owner
was rapping gifts for kids. I'm running out of stuff,
ad what I can't think of any other slashes? What's
(23:19):
up bro with you? We're good man. Happy New Year
to your brother.
Speaker 6 (23:23):
Happy New Year, Happy New Year, Fellas, Happy New Year.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
No doubt. Shoot, the fans don't love the fans don't
love Lebron. Is that where you're going?
Speaker 6 (23:34):
No? I already know where this conversation is going to go.
How do you know, I'm I'm guessing. Let me chere.
If I'm right here, I'm gonna be quiet.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
No, No, you tell us what you what you think
it is?
Speaker 6 (23:46):
Go ahead, go ahead.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Well, I was gonna start with something we talked about earlier,
and Lebron being fifteenth currently in voting. Uh and and
and kind of what that means is to say anything
I said, I mean, it happened to Jordan his last
year with Wizards. If it can happen to Jordan, it
can happen to anybody, Lebron said, And Rob said blank
them fans Lebron, that's right.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
I would give them the middle finger. And I wouldn't
go I wouldn't show up. I'd say, this is what
you're gonna do. The All Star Game is in LA.
I don't even know the guy from Portland who's ahead
of Lebron.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
In the voting.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
I don't even know who that is.
Speaker 6 (24:19):
I Dinny, I da right now is probably the league's
most improved player. If the most improved player like we're
voting on today, Denny at Bia would probably winning that award.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
Okay, here's my point though, this is this is Lebron
James in an exhibition the world against the United States.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
Correct, it's an exhibition.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
It's not direct.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
It ain't it ain't a If it's just about stats,
we wouldn't have fans voting, right, we wouldn't.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
It would be Okay, let's put the stats in.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Here's your ward number that they do in baseball, and
people with the best war are gonna make this team.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
That's not what we're doing here.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
And and that's the part that I can't understand that
people really have turned on Lebron from this standpoint.
Speaker 6 (25:05):
Oh, no question.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
I mean, that's that's about it.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (25:09):
Yes, I I and and and one hundred see what
I'm saying, Rob, I agree with everything you're saying one
hundred percent. But you could have said everything that you
just said without discrediting the year that Denny Abby is having. Okay,
this is one of the reasons for me. This is
one of the reasons for me I wasn't on board
with the whole USA versus the World things.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
Thank you, I'm with that.
Speaker 6 (25:32):
This is one of the reasons I wasn't on board
with it, because now you have guys that are making
the All Star Game, and you have guys that should
make the All Star Game that aren't going to make it.
But I will say this though, Rob, Honestly, let let's
keep it a buck here.
Speaker 4 (25:44):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (25:45):
Is Lebron an All Star so far?
Speaker 4 (25:47):
No?
Speaker 2 (25:48):
No, he's not.
Speaker 6 (25:49):
Okay, right, So so, I mean, I understand exactly what
you're saying, because realistically speaking, the All Star Game is a.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Popularity, that's all it is.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
That That is my point. That that's my point.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
It was like a couple of years ago a d
where they gave players a chance to vote, and one
hundred and twenty five players didn't vote Lebron for the
All Star I mean, like, seriously, where are we?
Speaker 6 (26:13):
That's that's different like that that's personal, right.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
That's what I'm sure. But I'm just saying it's a
it's an exhibition. That that's what it is. I'm surprised
and it being in LA, like that's the other part.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
It's in LA.
Speaker 6 (26:27):
I'm with you, okay, I will tell you that that's
not where I thought you guys were going to start.
All right, Yeah, y'all got me, Well where.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Are you were going to start? Tell me?
Speaker 6 (26:37):
Yeah, tell us with the whole Are you okay with
the sixty five game threshold thing because Nicola got hurt.
Oh yeah, now it's it now, it's the talking point.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Yes, that's on our that's on our list. We got
that coming up next hour. Yeah, that's on our list.
Give us our opinion on if you want to.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
Yeah, where are you right?
Speaker 6 (26:58):
I've always been on for it. I was calling for
this years ago, years before they put this in place.
I was calling for its plain and simple, because you know,
it's amazing to me how we'd say one thing and
then something goes wrong and then we want to go back.
Like before it was sixty five games, everybody was mad
for players for not playing, and you know what they said,
(27:20):
you know what, you got to put something in place
so players are held accountable for showing up, players are
held accountable for being available. Then they put something in place.
Now a couple guys get hurt. Now, well, you know what,
maybe this isn't the best idea. No, it is, because
you should like, being available is a thing, and it
should be a thing. Guys can't control injuries. You can't
(27:43):
control injuries. I am I am on board with the
sixty five game cutoff. What I'm not on board with
and I never have been on board with is a
guy's contract being tied to making all NBA or all
defensive play all of that. That's what I'm not okay with.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
All Right, you know what?
Speaker 1 (28:02):
And in baseball, I want to go here, Okay, you
want to win the batting title, right, you need they
have the number, and I think it's fair so that
the guy can't win the batting title and he played
one hundred games and Aaron Judge played one hundred and
forty nine games, you know what I mean? Like, so
you need three point one played appearances per schedule game.
(28:23):
If you don't have that, you can't winify, You don't qualify.
And here's the only other caveat that they throw them
with the baseball one, say you were ten games short
of the of the number that you need. If they
put zeros in for those ten games and you still
(28:43):
had a higher batting average, then you could win it.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Do you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (28:47):
I like, to me, that's fair because exactly what if
we give you zeros and you still have a higher
batting for the next guy.
Speaker 6 (28:55):
Yeah, so let's let's let's apply that to Let's apply
that the NBA. Let's say a guy plays forty three games, right,
and now for the next twenty two games, you give
him all z rows across the board.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
Right?
Speaker 6 (29:12):
How do you think that looks right?
Speaker 2 (29:14):
Would look crazy in the NBA. NBA is different, Yeah,
an NBA is a whole different. It's a different game.
You one person controls way more than you can in.
Speaker 4 (29:20):
Bason And I don't know if.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
I don't know if if if Antonio I told you
this before, and maybe I did because Kelvin likes it
and I've seen other people like on Twitter, I said,
to really curtail people from doing that. And it's not
a problem as much as it was where people sitting
out games and resting or whatever.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
Is it's real simple.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
You can you can go out or whatever, you fake
an injury or say, you know whatever, but you have
to miss a minimum of three games.
Speaker 6 (29:49):
I've been saying that too.
Speaker 4 (29:50):
Okay, you missed three games and that's it.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
So so you can't take that easy game off in
some city because you would have to miss the next
two games at least. And if you're really injured, you're
giving time to get well. I'm not We're not judging
and telling you you're not injured. So if you're injured,
you got to go on the injured list and miss
at least three games. That would stop people or if
(30:15):
they don't have the an injury or whatever like that,
you have to get zero's in your stat line.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
Do you know what that would do to your career averages?
And you started adding zero.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
I'm very conscious of that.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
That's why they don't play. Fans ask that all the time.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
Why don't they just play ten or twelve minutes and
get out the game because their stats will go down.
Speaker 6 (30:34):
Do you remember the old injury list?
Speaker 4 (30:38):
Yes, I do, where you miss.
Speaker 8 (30:40):
A game and you had to believe I believe it
was five.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
Games if they if they put you on the injured list,
So they put.
Speaker 6 (30:48):
You on the injured list, and you missed that game
and you had to miss the next four that's how
it should be, and then you had to you had
to sit out the next tour. Like the thing is,
if guys were playing, and if organization held guys accountable,
and we're playing guys that are healthy when they're actually available,
we wouldn't even be at this point right and we.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Wouldn't have had to come up with the sixty five
because it would have just been happy it was injured.
I believe it was injured.
Speaker 6 (31:14):
Yeah, so you can't. You can't act like this thing
just came from nowhere. No, you know what I mean.
They didn't just come out with sixty five games from nowhere.
They came out sixty five games because they felt like
they needed to do something to hold players accountable for
not being available.
Speaker 8 (31:29):
And this isn't this is the heel I will I don't.
Speaker 6 (31:31):
Care who gets injured. I don't care what first second
thirteen look like. I don't care who wins the MVP
all of that stuff. I will always be in favor
of giving guys credit that are available more than guys
that aren't, no doubt.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
Hey, what's the biggest surprise to you so far in
the NBA season?
Speaker 6 (31:49):
If you had to Detroit Pistons.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Okay, say that again. My phone The phone was Truro
one more time because we couldn't I hear five. Yeah,
I was gonna ask that you. I'm going to that
game and I against the Lakers.
Speaker 6 (32:01):
What what I mean? The thing is, it's the biggest surprise.
We knew that they would be they would be competitive
after the way that they ended last year. Tate Cunningham
is trajecting in the right directions, But for them to
be second in the Eastern Conference, I mean first in
the Eastern Conference. Like at this point of the year,
the year's almost half over. We're not talking about a
(32:23):
small samples side here. We're not talking about ten or
fifteen games.
Speaker 4 (32:26):
You got them in the conference, you got them in
the Eastern Conference Finals.
Speaker 6 (32:31):
I would not be surprised.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
I wouldn't be surprised.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
I want you to make a pick yes or no
right now?
Speaker 1 (32:35):
If I asked you, will the Pistons just from what
you see and you say not a small sample size,
will the Pistons be in the Eastern Conference Finals?
Speaker 2 (32:44):
Yes or no?
Speaker 4 (32:44):
That's all I want? Yes or no?
Speaker 6 (32:46):
Well, okay, that's all I want right now, Rob, I'll
say yes. Okay, But you know that's the wrong question
to ask in December.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
No, I'm just asking. I know there's a long way
to go.
Speaker 6 (32:56):
I'm gonna tell you why. Number one, because it is
a long way to go. And number two because it's
a lot of trade that's gonna happen prior to the
trade deadline. Yeah, the movement that's still going to happen.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
Okay, all right, I just want to hear what you
are on that it will be okay.
Speaker 6 (33:09):
I would be okay picking the Detrade Pistons to go
to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
By what I've seen so far, Knick's Pistons will be great.
Speaker 4 (33:16):
I want you to know, uh.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
That before the football season started, he did not ask
you this, So I just want to tell him that too.
I said that the Lions would not make the playoffs
and the Chiefs would not make the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
Ain't wish a merry Christmas.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
And I'm gonna sit here right now and I'll bet
Kelvin a paired another pair of Jordan's that the Pistons
will not n ot be in the Eastern Conference.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
We will talk the day after trade.
Speaker 6 (33:45):
Yeah, Rob, that's not that's not the same. That's not
the same. Like saying they won't be in the Eastern
Conference finals, that's not saying much they make Why it's
still a successful season.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
I didn't say that the season wouldn't be successful.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
I'm talking about would that Would they take a leak
from not winning a playoff series in.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
Fifteen years to go into the Eastern Conference Finals?
Speaker 8 (34:07):
No, okay, that's what.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
I'm saying Antonio.
Speaker 8 (34:10):
When was the last time they want Rob?
Speaker 6 (34:13):
With the pistons being where they make the second round.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
They could make the second round depending on the matchup.
Speaker 6 (34:19):
No, no, no, Rob, I'm gonna do what you get.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
Yeah, there you go, there you go. Hey, no what late?
Now late? We're late, boy, he ad, don't worry about it.

was one of the main voices in college football, a
post to players finally getting their money. He became so
stubborn and participating in things like the portal saying most
players aren't even good enough for Clemson.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Well look at you.
Speaker 6 (36:43):
Now.
Speaker 9 (36:43):
You were the class of the late twenty tens in football,
and now you just lost a Penn State with the
interim coach and a backup quarterback. You're nothing more than
Northwestern football. You're nothing more than nc State football. Dabo,
get with the times or get.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
Out love it. That's strong, Jordan so strong.

and Spanish a picture of grass, the letter see and
the Cowboys logo.
Speaker 6 (37:24):
Okay, stay with me, Now what is that does?
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Let's say that more time letters see let her see.
Speaker 8 (37:31):
It's the letter see and the Cowboys logo.
Speaker 6 (37:35):
That's how you say thank you in Spanish?
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Oh what was that?
Speaker 6 (37:38):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (37:39):
Is it the star? Come on?
Speaker 3 (37:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Yeah, okay, yes, and it's okay Grassia. You know I
know some thank you that was for us. Yeah, I'm
doing lingo.
Speaker 9 (37:51):
You know what I mean the cowboys, because the cowboys
are asked.
Speaker 8 (37:54):
Okay, let's just call it.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
I got you Orlando weeks ago, six weeks ago, robbed you.
They were trying to tell me Jerry Jones and cured everything.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
No, he won that trade though, I'll tell you that
what the trade.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
The one word. Now, the Packers can't do nothing without Micah.
Speaker 4 (38:09):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (38:10):
They like ru for three hundred yards on the one
doing anything before.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
Yeah, but that was Micah doesn't stop. I can understop
trash you, Sean, Sean in Sacramento. You're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. Who are you trashing?
Speaker 2 (38:23):
Sean?
Speaker 8 (38:25):
Yeah? See New Year to my uncle from another mother
and cousin Kelby and your happy New Year's Eve to
my brothers behind the board. About that action, I'm trashing
the three wise Men.
Speaker 6 (38:37):
First, wise men.
Speaker 8 (38:37):
Are the Detroit Lions fans. Rob You're just a Detroit
We ran you out of town. Now you hate them.
I tell the best team in the NFC had finished
first last year.
Speaker 6 (38:48):
Well where are they out?
Speaker 8 (38:49):
Where's all those wise old Lions fans now? Try to
tell them in August, but now they're feeling it in December? Second,
wise man, cheer.
Speaker 6 (39:00):
Your walt.
Speaker 8 (39:01):
That's putting of you now, hunk. In the words of
Adam pac Man Jones, now I'm not the smartest mother,
but where are the the Chiefs fans at? Now? That's right,
Rob called them missing in the playoffs back in August two. Finally,
keV in Riverside, brother, I love you and I'm not
about that odd mob on odd mob crime. But you
(39:22):
gotta pay the piper. You call in every day on
some diabolical work, giving your hot take, but not paying the.
Speaker 4 (39:29):
Man his goat my wings.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
He got three minutes matter if I come back, So
I'll go eat at my food. Come on, Sean,
