fifth in Yeah, I couldn't.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
See what how many runs? That wasn't at home run there?

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Yeah, it was a two run home run. So it's
five to five in that one. To update you, Rob,
g uh, let's talk about Michael Parsons.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
Micah, get that keeps on giving.

Speaker 6 (02:37):
Yes, I mean any time you mentioned, hey, it's a
slow week, it's a slow day in sports.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Just google MICHAEH.

Speaker 6 (02:43):
Parsons, Dallas Cowboys, and I promise you you'll find something
to talk about.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
I got you who owned the summer more?

Speaker 5 (02:48):
Micah shador Ooh that's a good that's close.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
I'm gonna go shador I'm gonna go Mike Ghost. Yeah,
I think that's really close. I'm gonna go Michael, especially
the other guy doesn't play, but go ahead.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
Well we'll see if Michael plays this weekend. He's still
to be determined what that back issue.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
But I'm gonna say this too, Lions Packers, I'm gonna
give you the lock of the season is take the
Packers in that game.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
I'm surprised that Rob is betting against the Lions. I
would have never.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Said that, and I'm gonna tell you it has nothing
to do with Michael.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
The Lions.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
We ain't no on the road last year, ain't no way, Rob,
do you remember.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
They can start? I want to know, like that's a
whole no.

Speaker 6 (03:30):
No, no, no, no, okay, go ahead, all right, Well
just for that, we'll put that in this week's inaugural.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
It is just through that of the pigskin pick off
that's coming up on Friday, the one that I won
last year.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
But at any event, oh yeah, because that's the Chiefs,
the Chiefs, the Chiefs. We went all the way to
the super Bowl. That's how we kept tuck.

Speaker 6 (03:49):
But as you guys mentioned, Michael Parsons, he is in
Green Bay and he is, you know, doing the local
media rounds there in Packer Town, and he did a
they're calling it a TV show, but it looks like
a podcast with Packers dot Com and it was about twenty.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Minute interview with him.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
Jordan Love had a little piece, another couple of players
little pieces, and in the conversation with Micah, they brought
up and asked him, you know what he's most looking
forward to.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Now that he's out of the spotlight in Dallas. He's
in Green Bay.

Speaker 7 (04:21):
Here's the exchange Mike, are you getting the sense? And
I know it's just first impressions that Green Bay is
going to be a real good fit for you.

Speaker 8 (04:32):
Yes, just just focus on ball, you know. I think
I'm gonna just take a break from everything. I'm just
so ready to just focus on this thing that what's
really it's all about, and that's just just football right
here of what we love and I think here is
just all about ball. And they pour everything into this
at football and this is probably what I did in

(04:54):
my life. And I told my family, They said, are
you happy? I said, I couldn't be happy. I feel
it like you ever just had that feeling, right, You're
just like, I think I made the right decision and
that's exactly what I feel.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
And of course on Packers dot Com, tv BS show
that they have they didn't ask him so when they
said he's all about football, Well, did you're giving up
your podcast?

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Yeah? Are you done with the podcast? Hey?

Speaker 1 (05:17):
You know there was some pushback from some of your
former teammates in Dallas about the podcast.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Is that over now? Are you doing it here?

Speaker 2 (05:25):
No?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
They just let oh, it's all about football or whatever,
and Rob, you don't want to say he's making ten
million dollars off of that.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Allegedly reported.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
That sounds like a lot of money, but anyway, he's
making something a lot of the kids.

Speaker 6 (05:38):
He's also has a seat with the Bleacher Report Sports
like he's on the Bord or something like that.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
There's still a lot even for the Bleacher Report. Ten
million dollars for one podcast is a lot of money.
But anyway, my point is that he has something to
prove here, like like to me, Michael Parsons, because he
can spend it anyway he wants. Just like Lou Michael

(06:01):
was dumped a player of his ilk and talent and
his age, don't they don't get moved. He was dumped
by the Dallas Cowboys. And guess what he comes to
Green Bay? He got any hardware? Did the Cowboys win
a Super Bowl? Did he win Defensive Player of the
Year at all? No? He has nothing. He has he

(06:23):
has absolutely nothing, and now comes his time. What are
you about? Are you about trying? Are you gonna win
something with Green Bay? Are you gonna be Defensive Player
of the Year? And focus in and put all your
interests in, all your time and energy. You can do
other things. Don't get me wrong, But if you're winning
and doing stuff like that, and you can make that happen.

(06:45):
I honestly believe that this is make or break. He
might wind up being like a really good player, you
know what, I mean, to have a really good career.
But is he gonna be an all time great? Will
he live up to the talk in the beginning about
he was the next LT he was the next large tailor.
We're not even having those conversations anymore because the Cowboys

(07:06):
defense was bad.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
He was on it, whether he wants to take responsibility
or not.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
They were giving up forty points like it was going
out of style, and he has something to prove to me.
He's not home free because I don't even believe that
him signing with the Packers made them the overwhelming favorite
to get to the Super Bowl or win it.

Speaker 5 (07:27):
So I think Michael Parsons is in a situation I
mentioned that he can hit a hard reset and not
necessarily the talent. We know how good he is, we
know he's you know, if he were to do the
same thing he did a few more times, meeting another
seven eight years of this, he'd beheaded to get a
gold jacket. But what Micah has to also do is
realize he is now in a football focused team. He's

(07:49):
in a football focused town that doesn't need all the
extra stuff that need all the shenanigans. Doesn't do well
with that, and he doesn't have to match the energy
of an owner. Jerry Jones does all the TV shows,
does radio, does this, does commercials.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
He's Jerry Jones.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
And then you want to do that because it's the
star and it's the cheerleaders and it's this, and it's
just that. Or we're in big Deed's Dallas Man, this
is small Green Bay. Ain't nothing else happening. We locked
into football. We didn't even have an owner. We got
a bunch of people that invested that. There are all
owners of this team. And I think he can go
in there and become possessed with football again. You absolutely

(08:28):
need to blow off Stein. You absolutely need outlets, and
he'll find those things. What you don't need to do
is come in and making it all about you and
the podcast and this, and start already coming in, because
what happens is.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
You don't want that.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
First.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
Let's say they start off three and ohero looking good,
feeling good. He's got five sacks and three games and
then let's say they go one in three, and now
why did my part I got a couple of sacks.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
You didn't do that. It was a defensive backs play calling.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
Was that you don't want to do that and start
to alienate this new team, this new home, this new environment,
this new organization. So he absolutely to me, take this
opportunity to look inward and say I'm gone from there,
or you know, remove myself, moved on, we broke up.
What do I need to do and tap into that.
And again nobody's saying even if you do a podcast,

(09:23):
do it on something up. Maybe he loves Star Wars.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
I don't know. How about do it in the offseason?
How about that?

Speaker 5 (09:27):
Well East, Why I say that is because I do
think we overstate we meaning the non players in the world.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
You've been covering that league since win nineteen eighty seven,
so you know just as well as I do. Man,
let me tell you who blows off steam.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
These guys. They're going say there's a lot of stuff
you can do.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
And I'm not saying that you gotta be go to
your room and you can't do anything the podcast.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
To me, so I'm saying my thing was if he
took two hours out of his week to do a
pot But it was about NBA, it was about it
was about Star Wars, it was about movies. It was
about how I don't know, I don't know if he
has children now, but that my point is I get
he wants to something. He views himself as, this is
my next career, this is my path I'm starting now
like a Jaylen Rose did was still playing, but I
was doing stuff with TNT and all that, and he

(10:08):
is Ben So I get that. But it can't be
talking about you, your coaches and your teammates. That just
doesn't go well. I think if he does not.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Give up the podcast, it tells you that the Cowboys
were right and that he's not totally serious about football.
If that podcast continues in Green Bay, I would be
If I'm a Packer fan, I would not be happy.

Speaker 5 (10:31):
I got to couch that serious like you question for
you and Rob g are we having this same conversation
because we sat up here and we all talked about
Trav And this is me really asking, like I'm formulating
my thoughts because it just hit me.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Travis Kelce sat up here and told us.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
I need to do this. I was focused. I gotta
lock in. I've realized I was doing too much. Then
he goes on, has Taylor Swift come on the pod?
A week later, we find that he did the whole
big proposal going everywhere to my knowledge, correct me if
I'm wrong. The POD's continuing and they're they're still doing
the pod right, And I'm wondering if is Travis Kelce

(11:09):
in this same boat where I need to lock in?

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Hey, big bro, we already know that. And he didn't
even have to tell people. People know that he's cut
this yea too, and we've seen it. He's a shell
of himself as a player. But the difference is, unlike Micah,
he's at the end of his career and he's going
to the Hall of Fame, do you know what I mean?

(11:32):
Like Mike is still in his ball hanging in the balance.
He could wind up ascending to that because remember he
has no hardware, so you could say he's going to
the Hall of Fame, but not just off of twelve
sacks a season. Where's your Defensive Player of the Year,
where's your m v P, where's your Super Bowl?

Speaker 4 (11:51):
You went to Green Bay like and and you you got.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Them over the hummer. You know, where's your sack in
the playoffs?

Speaker 4 (11:58):
He doesn't.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
He has one against Tom Brady after a sneak of
cleaf fell off.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
He has it. He has to have postseason memories.

Speaker 5 (12:08):
And I wrote down a lot of guys who went
crazy in the postseason, and we know that their defensive
was a large part of the reason.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
Justin Tucker, Michael Strahan.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
Aaron Donald was a grown man on the Rams way
to a Super Bowl win. Von Miller was a grown
man on multiple teams on the way to Super Bowls.
Chris Jones has been a grown man in the postseason
several times over for the Chiefs, James Harrison, Reggie White
who was a packer and did that with the packer.
He needs to start making playoff moves and possessions and plays.

(12:41):
We need to see Micah make postseason plays. Henceforth. They
were a postseason last year, should be in the postseason
this year. You know, if all things play out for them,
and he needs to start making postseason plays like some
of them.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Guys be sick if they win the division, because I
don't think the Lions win a division. You're not doing
this with you ready, You know all all those Michigan,
all those Roy fans.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
So who's winning? Sick? Who's winning?

Speaker 1 (13:09):
I had the package before this, even before the Michaeh
trackon Yeah, because that lit the Lions. I don't I'm
not love love you don't even like that. I don't lie, right,
I told you the player, But I knew that. I
knew that the Lions were going to take a step
back for them coordinators. And they're not playing the AFC
South like they did a year ago where they got
fat off of that.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
This is the easiest Wings I've ever I can't wait.
I just want to fall asleep and wake up. And
it's like December twenty eighth and they already had.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Remember you're going to be like the Lions didn't make
the play. Rob was right again about Micah. Rob was
right about I mean, I can't be right on everything.
There's a couple out of it again. This is this
is this is your couple. It was a couple, but
I was man a cop. If you listen to the
odd couple, you feel like you got inside. That makes

(13:57):
this show, Alex, how many times you get this? Man
screamed at me that that Josh Allen Wan on the
m v P. And I screamed it and told him
he was This man screamed at me and told me
Eli was getting a Hall of Fame and he didn't.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
It didn't even make sense.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
You know what, if I gave you all the ones
that I was right with, you don't get you stand.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
On the table. What do you mean, Rob, you stand
on the table? He's on there.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
He's still on the same two. No, I'm on several
on Jerry Jerry Jones. Oh this what you do all
of time? I mean, just want to be out there.
I'm going out front. But he gonna sign him event.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
Alex said.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
The two teams he picked the lose every week both
went fifteen and two.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
I don't pick him to lose every week. Now you
know that ain't even the best. I beat you in
the pigskin pick cause I picked him.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
Every week and the one week it finally worked for
you the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
And I told you that all year that they wouldn't
win the Super Bowl, and I told you that the
Lions would get to.

Speaker 5 (14:49):
The Super You talk both of them. Rob Z kept track.
How many times was it Robb that he picked against
the Lion?

Speaker 4 (14:55):
Was like twelve?

Speaker 9 (14:56):
Right?

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Was not yeah, twelve, it was not all right eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine eight seven.
So you got me all mixed up now eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. How much
pressure is on Michael Parsons in Green Bay. We'll continue
that conversation next with you if he still has a podcast,

(15:17):
whether you look at him a little funny or not.

Speaker 4 (15:18):

Right now, Robin are taking some calls on Micah and
does he what does he need to.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
Do now that he's a packer? Should he? Should he
get over? The podcast?

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Asked do you think he needs more from him, do
you not mind?

Speaker 5 (17:03):
Hey, you want Michael to be Micah eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox that we got.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Let's start with Scott in North Cakilaki. You're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Scott?

Speaker 11 (17:14):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Are you doing?

Speaker 3 (17:16):
Brother bro?

Speaker 12 (17:18):
I'm doing good. I'm doing good. Crazy trade, I mean,
part against I mean that's just him being your him.
You can't blame that his production on the tild You
gotta step up. He gets the Eagles, the whole team,
though Joel Love is particular some three picks, so I
mean he got to step up too.

Speaker 11 (17:36):
So, I mean it's a good trade.

Speaker 12 (17:39):
But we're the best team in the NFC, so I
don't think you know they're going this year. But in
the teacher they got fum who's the best?

Speaker 4 (17:46):
He said, We yeah, Who's were talking about the Eagles? Eagles? Eagles.
That's what I do.

Speaker 5 (17:52):
Making sure making sure he sounded like the way you
set it up, we couldn't tell if you were talking
about the package of the Eagles. All right, Scott, appreciciate you,
thank you, Scott, appreciate your brother.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
How about Joe in Michigan, you're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
What's up? Joe?

Speaker 9 (18:06):
Hey, gentlemen, how are we doing today?

Speaker 4 (18:07):
Doing well?

Speaker 9 (18:09):
Rob? You are killing me with this Lions take bro
I don't know why yelling me.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
I'm just saying, you don't think they're gonna take a
step back with the coordinators.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
No, you said no postseason step back is fine?

Speaker 9 (18:19):
Thirteen and so okay, okay, I can I can see
maybe a minor step back from the coordinators. The Campbell
says to the environment, he sets the tone there. And
then what killed me was we feasted on the AFC South.
We were fifteen and two with another fourteen win team
in our division and still won it.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
No, and now you know why they were You know
why they won fourteen games because they also feasted on
the AFC.

Speaker 4 (18:44):
Like all the teams they all they had a division.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
The Packers won eleven games, the Vikings won fourteen, and
the Lions won fifteen. Joe, why do you think that
was what we did it?

Speaker 9 (18:56):
We did it with plumbers.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
No, no, no, I'm asking you why did the package wanted?

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Joe?

Speaker 1 (19:02):
I'm asking you why did the package won eleven games?
Why did the Vikings win fourteen, and why the Lions
win fifteen?

Speaker 9 (19:09):
Well, the AFC South had something.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
Okay, that's my point.

Speaker 9 (19:14):
Can we agree that the Lions also swept the North.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
But my point was that they got fat off the AFC.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
That's all the AFC South. Man about the fifteen they
all did. Listen, you ain't gotta tell me.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Hey, they beat they beat the forty nine ers, they
beat the Rams. You know if you know who they
didn't Beatawks, they smacked they smacked up.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
You know who they didn't beat, Yo, Texans, Kelvin. You
know who they didn't beat. They didn't beat the Washington Commander.
That's the one we didn't. I get it. Fifteen to two.
I tell you.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
You yell at fifteen to two then and you yelled
the team that.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Went to the Super Bowl Chili tim in Atlanta. You're
on they couple of Fox Sports radio.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
What's up?

Speaker 11 (19:54):
Whatever?

Speaker 12 (19:55):
How you I'm good man?

Speaker 2 (19:58):
You guys doing well?

Speaker 11 (19:59):
Man?

Speaker 12 (20:00):
A robber might be going to Hawaii pretty sim My
daughter just got she just left Japan. Now she's stayed
in the Pearl Harbord.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
So wow wow, yeah, yeah, that's amazing.

Speaker 12 (20:12):
But but Robin is right on one thing. Before getting
the point the Patriots for years seated on that they
compelled some men six wins easy.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
I mean, come on, man, and that and that's what
I'm talking about when you have a they were just easy.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
They didn't even have to win that many other games,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 12 (20:32):
Because right, but with the Michael and the Packers, I
think he kind of has a built then early excuse
because of the back. But I think where his money
is going to be made and where his uh, the
pressure is gonna come on him because they've made the
playoffs without him, but they brought you in to put
us over the hump. So the playoffs is where he's

(20:52):
gonna make his money. They don't. If they don't get
past where they've been, you know, they kind of die.
You don't go past that. That's where you know you're
gonna know if it's really worth the money or the trade.
And so yeah, that's his his thing is gonna be
in the playoffs. So you know, they'll give me a
chance to kind of get his work his back end,
work his way into the to the you know how

(21:13):
they the scheme and things. But come playoff time, there's
no more excuses for him. You surrounded by other great
defensive players, of geary, of good linebackers, good young team, like,
there'll be no excuse for you not to succeed to
come up short in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
One other thing, if he keeps rolling with the podcast,
what does that say to you? If he goes to
Green Bay and feels compelled to keep.

Speaker 12 (21:37):
That going, he hasn't realized Green Bay is a different
type of uh organization. They're not late the Cowboys, you know,
the Green Bay is kind of like, you know, this
is of the first year that they've kind of done
things drafting receiver and making trades. But for the most part,
you know, they're a different organization. They want you to

(21:58):
kind of keep your hand it down, you know, go
out there and work. So I think he's going to
have to learn how to taper it back a little bit,
because if those fans don't embrace him, if he's out
doing other things like that, I think he cooks back
from him. So I think he may need to tape
it down and maybe just kind of, you know, do
it at the end of the season or something. But
I don't think his first year he needs to concentrate

(22:21):
on football. You get him a Super Bowl and then
they don't care what.

Speaker 13 (22:24):
You said exactly exactly, surely appreciate you out and especially when.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
You first go there and just coming down right coming
with all the comments from teammates, you know what I
mean from Dallas now, all that stuff out there.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
Dude, he was saying a lot on that podcast, and
we said it anyway. We were saying in real time,
like all right, yo, you got it. He was saying
a lot. Rick Bulker on the way right now, Montellano
is gonna get you set on what's trending.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 5 (22:59):
Thank you see it is the odd couple Robin Kelvin
on a worship Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
And by the way, did you get the stand's home run?
Were you able to squeeze it out to hear it?
I did? Yes, A need he's going to the home
Hall of Family. Oh yeah he is, he is.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
How okay, let me read this. Then I want to
throw one at you too. We get we forgot Rick,
then we got Rick.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
We got Rick.

Speaker 5 (23:20):
Go ahead, Rick I'll say it for later. You're saying no, oh,
so all right, real quick? Uh, Joy's not cooperating. Some
days your body is just like no, no those days,
Luckily there's a lead with just one pill. The lead
provides up to twelve hours of paying relief so you
can keep it moving. Use as director. We got him
in here real quick. Five hundred has kind of been
the barometer. Will that ever change? We're like, oh, it's

(23:42):
too common now it's five fifty or six hundred.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
No, because guys, everybody's not hitting forty run.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Five hundred is still like a for a lot of writers,
that's an automatic.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
I don't need to look at the rest of your career.

Speaker 5 (23:53):
You hit five hundred home runs, five hundred home runs,
but I only batted like two career, like two thirty
eight too.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
Not that's something. Now, there was a guy, Dave Kingman,
he didn't get to five hundred. He's under that and
he batted like two thirty. So I don't think he
would have got in because of that. He's not batting
two thirty. He's one an MVP. And here's the other
thing too, like in the postseason, Yeah that the home runs. Yeah,
he's like in the ton of home runs per at
bat in the postseason. So he has something Sason right exactly.

(24:24):
So I think he has I think he has a
real shot if he gets to five hundred.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
All right, we're getting ready to get Rick here in
a minute.

Speaker 5 (24:30):
Don't forget it coming up in a little bit, Beto,
we got one's gotta go, uh talk some NBA with Rick.
There's obviously the Kawhi Leonard story is out there, and
there's the Clippers as well getting him some money, So
we'll definitely touch on that a little bit. And also too,
there's some conversation Charles Barkley had a bunch there as well.
Johinning is now Rick Milker FS one NBA analyst, host

(24:51):
of On the Ball podcast Rick, What's up man?

Speaker 4 (24:53):
What's happening?

Speaker 11 (24:55):
What's happening? Gentlemen?

Speaker 1 (24:56):
So tell me about the dummy company that Fox Sports
one had set up for you so that you can
make more money than Skip Bayless.

Speaker 14 (25:04):
Oh how we only wish that's the dream for all
of us, right, And I mean the jokes kind of
right themselves when it comes to Kawhi, he's getting paid
double not to do anything like it.

Speaker 11 (25:19):
With we were already there were already questions about that
in terms of how much he was playing, he was
playing in the league, but now we got we got
a shadow job on top of it.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
It reminded me of college, like when I remember I
was covering Saint John's and Chris Mullen had a no
show job at a dealership.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
I used to do that. You remember that Rick in
the day?

Speaker 9 (25:40):
Uh?

Speaker 11 (25:40):
Yeah, yeah, there was. Remember the movie was a big Shot.
What was the the uh the movie with the shoves?
This up with Up with the sun Zone, Shine with
a red Hot Poker. It's about a basketball It's about
a basketball kid who who he gets his job is

(26:01):
watching the sprinklers.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Yeah, I do remember that. I can't remember the name
of it. Yeah, well that was his job watching a sprinkler. Yeah,
hey listen, sign me up.

Speaker 11 (26:11):
Yeah exactly exactly. But but here, you know, in all reality,
like I had heard when when they first signed Kawhi,
there were there were rumors that there were there were
side deals being made, And I would dare say that
Balmer is not alone in terms of owners who find

(26:32):
sweetheart deals for players that they want to acquire. It
may not be as blatant as this and it may
not have a paper trail, but I don't know that,
you know, tipping tipping players off to great investment opportunities.
Now that we have these billionaire owners who have such
wide and massive portfolios, uh, their ability to enhance the

(26:59):
offers being made to players really isn't that hard.

Speaker 12 (27:05):
So in some.

Speaker 11 (27:06):
Ways, like honestly, while great reporting by Polo Tory and
great late work, I mean just tremendous, tremendous work.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
We talked about that.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
You know, if you're willing to put in and read
these lawsuits and really, diggain Rick, you noticed as a
newspaper reporter, you can get these.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
In for this stuff out in there, stuff in there.

Speaker 12 (27:28):
Yep, yep.

Speaker 11 (27:29):
But all that said, like ultimately it was twenty eight
million dollars wasted. Like they didn't they didn't get it,
you know, get me, give me, give me. What if
Joe lakeb has done something or Wes Eton and Mark
Lasri who a team that ended up winning a championship
and ended up getting players or a player in a

(27:52):
place where you did not expect them to go and
it paid off. That's the story that I really, that's
the story that I want. And I say none of
this to disparage anything that Pablo did, but on the
scale of things that like I look at it and
I go, yes, Steve Balmery, yeah, you went above and
beyond to sign Kawhi Leonard and it didn't pay off,

(28:15):
Like you've already paid a penalty, like you bet on
the wrong freaking horse.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
So well, then Rick, I want to ask you this then,
but stay there for a minute, right, So is that
the penalty that hey, your team just has been you've
this guy barely plays or does the league jump in
and say, you know, we got to do something extreme
or do they want it to quietly go away.

Speaker 11 (28:34):
I well, look, if they can prove that there's a
connection then or that it's clear that the Kawhi did
absolutely nothing to earn the money, I mean, there's still
the question of like did you know and I haven't
read all the documents, Maybe you guys have. If the
documentation clearly shows other than the interview that he had,

(28:59):
the blind interview of the of the worker who said
that this was you know, basically said this was cap
CIR convention, the league has to do something. I mean,
unless Balmer with with every all the evidence that Pablo
has I would say guilty until proven innocent at this point.

(29:20):
So Balmer's got to demonstrate somehow, some way that that
that he wasn't connected or not involved in this deal.
And short of doing that, I mean, you look at
what the penalty was for Joe Smith.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
Yeer than that. So it's gonna be interesting.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
Uh what'd you make of Charles Barkley's comments about the uh,
you know, just the fan uh with where I get it.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
The money is so out, you know, outrageous of your league.
You want to take it, but uh, you know you don't.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Everybody doesn't have all those I know everybody thinks everybody
has all the streaming and whatnot, but a lot of
people just have regular television at home.

Speaker 11 (30:08):
So what you're you're well, I mean, look, here's the thing.
The way that the NBA looks at at the TV
ratings and and and everything is they've saturated. They have
they have tapped out the domestic market, and so they

(30:29):
are looking to uh to expand and to take advantage
of their global reach. You can do that much easier
if you're streaming than with national broadcasts. And so that's
what dictated the direction that they went.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
But the only problem Rick, I'll say this too, is
you can boxing used to be a huge sport in
this country, and when they made everything pay per view,
you cut into that. You stop kids from growing up
watching fights. Every fight's on at midnight from the West
coast and you got to pay eighty nine dollars. You
know a lot of kids go up and box is

(31:06):
not as big. And even a team like the Yankees
that are really popular, they have game weekend games on
free TV for a reason, they could just take the
money too, because they know that they don't want to,
like you, don't want to freeze everybody out from being
able to be a fan and watch the game.

Speaker 4 (31:22):
That's that's all.

Speaker 11 (31:24):
Yeah, No, I know, I mean, I totally get that.
But they're playing the numbers game and they're looking at
the you know, I'm just I'm watching a lot of
EuroBasket right now, and I'm seeing all of these fans
in the stands with NBA jerseys of the players that
are playing, not the Lithuanian jerseys, not the Slovenian jermy jerseys,
the NBA jerseys, and the league is looking at and

(31:46):
going those are our fans, like those are fans we
want to tap into. Those are fans that we can
get to buy a league pass because they will do
they will do anything to try to uh to watch
and and they're you know, as of right now, they're
fighting with the NFL, they're fighting the you know, college football.
Like they have so much competition here, they don't have

(32:08):
that same competition over there. That's that's that's new blood
out there that they think they can tap into. And
that's why Amazon, you know, edged out TNT and NBC
going NBC Universal has demonstrated that they have the wherewithal
to go into streaming. So it's uh, I hear you,
Rob in terms of how we grew up and and

(32:31):
and it may cost them ultimately in the fan share
when it comes to the US, but they think they can,
they think they can make that up globally.

Speaker 5 (32:42):
Well, we'll wait and see. But I'm kind of the
more along the lines of Robin just that you don't
know your core. You've got a core based right right, Yeah, Rick,
we're up against it, man, Thank you so much.

Speaker 11 (32:52):
Appreciation it my pleasure.

Speaker 12 (32:54):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (32:54):

Speaker 5 (36:00):
This man told us a five minute story about twinkies
and not a twinkie, not.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
A twinkyd But the only thing worse than a twinkie
is what it's a snowball.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
That is disgusting. Snowball disgusting. Okay, all right, I'm not
gonna lie.

Speaker 5 (36:14):
I thought you were like gang gang for twinkies, like
I thought you were all laying.

Speaker 1 (36:17):
I mean, if I got to pick between a Twinkie
and a snowball, it's easy.

Speaker 5 (36:21):
You know what else should have been on here too?
Those little oatmeal cookie things. Those are the best. The
oat milk creamy scream those are great. Those are amazing, Alex,
did we just bond? Do we become best friends? What

whole hose right here laying here on.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
Your chest and my chest and I would eat You're kidding,

Speaker 13 (37:19):
Robbie sitting right next to one too, I would say, hey, ho,

my chest and I would just sit there and I would.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
Thank you because you picked I was in a dark place.

Speaker 4 (37:48):

chest hair chest. This is a dark era.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
I said it was dark. You know, I got a
chinchilla this post divorce, of pre divorce.

Speaker 15 (38:22):
This is post divorce. Okay, chinchilla tweets post and during
I got a chinchillo right here that was sitting on

that means he just rolled over and went to sleep.
You ain't getting the shower you rolled over. Who whole
cream on your chest?

Speaker 4 (38:41):
Robgie.

Speaker 6 (38:42):
Aside from that store, I'm just mad that we built
the whole segment around tweakie thing that he was never
gonna buy anyways, dude, mad about the price of the
tweakie that you were never gonna buy it.

Speaker 4 (38:53):
You weren't gonna buy it because you said I don't like.

Speaker 5 (38:55):
That's the best part of this whole thing is that
I'm thinking tweakies are your absolute favorite spot of prize.

Speaker 4 (39:01):
I don't have to like the twinkie, rob G. Who

Speaker 3 (39:04):

Speaker 5 (39:12):
Coffee can, coffee can, That's the one we all agree on.
Can't go, robb G. Now I was mad at him
for wasting tea with the coffee cake.

Speaker 4 (39:21):
I want tea with yes, you and your host
