Joe Corey, the former sports agent n CBS Sports NFL analyst.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Great guy to have this time of the year.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
It's free agency and money out there and signings and
people moving into team all over the place.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Yeah, so we'll get into a lot of that. But
one guy who didn't move teams, who was talking a
big game. He was huffing and puffing, but he didn't
blow down the browns Is house.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Was Miles Garrett. Rob g give.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Us a little uh scenario, I mean, uh, paint the
scene for what took place with Miles Garrett. Because he
was telling everybody that he wanted to win, get.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Me out of here, blah blah blah and all that,
and somehow, some way he's still in Cleveland.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
Well, rather than me paint the picture, well, let Miles
Garrett paint the picture, because this is what he put out.
We have a ok about a month ago, Okay, when
he first made his trade demand out of Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
This is what he said.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused
on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl,
and that goal fuels me today more than ever. My
love for the community of northeast Ohio and the incredible
fan base of the Cleveland Browns has made this one
of the toughest decisions in my life. These past eight
years have shaped me to the man I am today.
While I've loved calling this city my home, my desire

(02:19):
to win and complete on the biggest stages won't allow
me to do to be complacent. And the goal was
never to go from Cleveland and Canton. It was always
to compete and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind,
I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Okay, and then talk about the deal, he said, in
a few weeks, and they say, you know what, Miles,
not only are we.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
Not going to trade you, we're gonna make you an
offer of a four year, one hundred and sixty million
dollar contract, one hundred and twenty three million guaranteed, the
richest deal in NFL.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
History for non quarterbacks.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
And suddenly, not only does Miles Garrett not want to
get traded out of Cleveland, he just rehapped and to boot,
he got himself a no trade clause. Just to put
a little cherry on top of this whole situation.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Kevin, I don't know what you I don't know what
you think. But that's when somebody's fraudulent, you gotta call
him a fraud. It's one thing to say you just
want out, you want to be traded, but to say
it's about winning. You always dreamt about, you know, winning,
and that's what it was about, and never thought about

(03:31):
going to Canton from Cleveland, right, That's what he said.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
And then they come along with money for you, And
then all of.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
A sudden, all of those words really don't matter because
they never were And maybe that was just deployed to
begin with. And he was talking huffing and puffing because
they didn't want to pay him. And I think the
Cleveland Browns continue to make bad decisions.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
It is a terrible decision.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
To resign or give him an extension at this kind
of money.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
He's a great player. That isn't even the issue.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
The issue is you don't you're in last place. You
can finish in last place with him or without him.
You can. You had him last year and you finished
in last place, and you got a bad quarterback who
has a bad contract, And how do you get better

(04:31):
when you give him that kind of a deal, Right,
that's less money to spend on other players. If you
have the Shaun Watson and you have to stick with him,
why don't you do this, Say he's just going to
be a stopgap until he can get from underneath that contract.

(04:51):
Let's go ahead, trade Miles Garrett, get some young players
and pigs or whatever, develop them, and by the time
we get out of quarter back purgatory with Deshaun Watson,
then we'll have a couple of players who in their
second or third years, and they can replace Miles Garrett.
And I'm gonna say, like replace him, like, no, you

(05:12):
better but in his spot and different stuff.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
I think this was a mistake. Well, I believe he
thought that. He believed it. I believe he thought. He
and his agent were like, man, you know what, it's
time to move on. You want to win. We already
know you're going to Canton. You're a Hall of Famer,
You've made a couple bucks in this league. Let's go
win now.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
But Dagon, you know what happened, Rob Ge, what they do?

Speaker 6 (05:38):
I want to make them an all free can refuse.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
They made that man an allfree can't refuse. Rob You've
been in this business.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Everybody has a number that they go, huh, you don't say, well,
let me reconsider some things you've been in negotiations.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
I will use myself for an example.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Deggan.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
I thought I was gonna leave a particular place. Me
and my agent were like, you know, let's see what else.
We got some opportunities there, and you know what they did,
Rob's They came back and said, hey, man, we'll put
this on top. We'll do this as matter of fact
to even not have to negotiate. We're just gonna move
that up here. And I said, oh, okay, well when
you put it that way, you got any more than contracts.
And that's my point. He really, I believe he genuinely thought,

(06:17):
I want to go win. But he they threw money
in him. No one else was gonna give him. Nobody
probably didn't even consider he's hey. They probably had to
like he make.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
One of the old he's one of the best players.
You just have him and can no one's gonna pay him.
Here's the thing that that doesn't that doesn't compute with
me and your story. You didn't go you are a
free agent looking to go somewhere else right, looking at
the leverage. You didn't come out and say I want
to go work at a station that has better ratings,

(06:45):
or I want to work at a net at the network.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
This is what he said.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
He didn't say pay me, or I'm out of here
quietly or whatever you sent out. Okay, you're not winning
in Cleveland, So he took the money because no, winning
is not winning was never the issue. And that's my
point to you, is that it couldn't have been about winning.
Because if that was really your thing, you already said it,
You've already established yourself, you already made a lot of money.

(07:12):
You're gonna get paid in this league because he's that talented.
Winning was never on the table, because if it really
was on the table, you wouldn't still be in Cleveland
in a division they can already tell.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Me last or third out of four, depending on how
for the.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Next five years, four or five years. I'm serious with
the way that the division is stacked.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
I mean, Lamar ain't going nowhere.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Pittsburgh has been good or at least solid for years.
We don't know what they'll be, but they're solid, the
tough team, and obviously the Bengals would like to think
they're better than what they showed this year.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
But I really mean this.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
I believe that he probably thought they're gonna offer me something.
They're gonna but at the end of the day, I'm
ready to go. And they threw up a number, maybe
twenty million dollars more than he thought his agent even
thought he can get.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
And winning that that that that and that and that
changes thing. No, then you were not.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
You were never about winning though, because you're not gonna
win there but here's the thing, all right.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
So where where where would you? Where can you go
and guarantee you win? No, you you can't. But but
playing in Cleveland with a bad quarterback.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Who's never regained his form to the money that you took,
right the money you paid, which.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Means less uh the cap has hit, so less uh more,
less cap to use. I get what your.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Okay as far as bringing in other people and that
that you you've already set yourself up. My point is
you could get all the money you want. He got
on his soapbox about winning. He signed his death certificate
in Cleveland that he's not gonna win. So it wasn't
about winning. It was about getting the most money. That's

(08:50):
all I'm saying. In that case, he was fraudulent. He
was a fraud. He sold one thing to people. You
all excuse me. I'll give me one out of clear
because I really want to win. That was my goal
my whole life, being in an NFL and all that
sounds good, Okay, that sounds good. You know what some
people do to win. Some people take a.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Discount, They sacrificed the life money to go to a
better situation. But here's the one thing, I'll say, that's
why I don't fly him here. A couple of things.
So one, I think we're also got to keep in
mind the sport in which we're in. Will you and
I talk about this a lot, especially when it comes
to the NFLPA. These contracts are not guaranteed, fully guaranteed.
They're only you know whatever it is, Sam Donalde hundred

(09:29):
and some million.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
No he's not. He's fifty five million.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
So I think in a sport where somebody's willing to
give him that amount of money for a position that's
not a quarterback. The most ever, I think he absolutely
had to look at that, especially in the sport it's
not baseball, it's not NBA, where things are guaranteed. This
is fine, I hear, hold on, let me let me cook,
Let me cook. Also, go back to the Browns. I
think that the Browns are looking at him as well.

(09:54):
Dang it, you're right about we all know and we
made a mistake with the Deshaun Watson. This is just
playing out in our face after week. How bad of
a decision this was. How about we give some crazy
money as this is a part of our apology tour
where we can get a guy who has been a
staple in the community. He has minority ownership with the
Cleveland Cavaliers. He's been here the fans level. We got

(10:14):
Shaye walking around with Miles Garrett jersey on he sales jerseys.
He's just never have any issues in the public. Very
well spoken, articulate guy. Let's honor that guy so we
can be saying part of our apolicy shore, here's a
guy we believe in. Here's a guy's been great, creedy.
Here's a guy's getting money. Here's a guy we know
not even thirty years old. Yet he won't be thirty
until pretty much the end of the season December. We

(10:35):
know he's gonna put up another season like he does
year in year out, MVP I mean defensive MVP caliber season.
Let's lean on that guy so we can say check
the box. That guy, maybe one side of the ball
is solid. We have that, and I think that's part
of the Deshaun Watson. Let's try to equal out the
bad that we did there with the person. Not only

(10:55):
the talent, we believe in the person. We believe and
I think for him, I do think the hometown. I've
been here, I know the community played the role in well,
dagget if I mistake somewhere and lose, I'd rather do
that here.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
And that makes no sense to me.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
It just doesn't because you wouldn't have gone on that
whole thing about winning and how important it was and
how it was time to move on because you're not
serious your whole thing. If he didn't make those statements,
then I'm buying you. Okay, then I'm buying you. He
said he wanted to win, he did not. And the Browns,

(11:28):
if they're losing your logic about rewarding a guy despite
being in last place with him, he didn't solidify the
defense only he was there last year they and they
couldn't stop anybody. My point to you is this, how
in the world are the Browns making these decisions? No
wonder why they haven't been to the super Bowl, No

(11:49):
wonder why they haven't won a super Bowl. Because if
this is your rationale, a god comes to you and
says he wants to win, and all you're gonna do
is throw money at him.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
And they said, but they said it was it a
jump of this rob They said, we are not letting
you go.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
That was the That was their point. I get what
they said.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
But I'm just telling you, if Miles Garrett was serious
about winning, he would be willing to take less to
get out of Cleveland, to go to a situation that's better.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Than he wasn't right.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
But when somebody, especially in football, gives you one hundred
and sixty million.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Dollars and a football that just say a new contract
in order to stay here, I want money. I want
to be the highest paid player. Make that case, and
that people would look at you. Don't think he thought
he was gonna get this.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
I think if if they're gonna pay me the same
thing or maybe a little bit less, I mean a
little bit more than someone else, then I'd rather go
somewhere else and make a little less.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
One hundred and sixty million dollars. Is it all guaranteed?

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Of course not okay, one hundred and twenty three guaranteed,
or a non quarterback Ron Parker. All I'm saying, man,
make a case. You can't make a case to remember
they hit him with the laser. He don't remember nothing.
It was never about winning. It was never about winning.

(13:09):
I genuinely believe that he thought it was because a
number would be around with somebody else so many players
have taken less to go.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
To winning teams. Not never about winning. That's that's uh,
It's just not about winning. It's about money, which is fine.
All I'm making the case is that that that.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
His I know what you're saying, and I genuine thought
he thought it was until they gave him some money.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
He and his agent didn't think he was about to get.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
All right, does mob Garrett going back on his trade
demand in exchange for a little money in Cleveland? Fraud
a little We'll continue this conversation next with you.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
It is the company I need it. Hold on, I
can we erase things? Erase that said a little.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
Rob Parker has lost weight and he's losing his mind
in the process. And the last two weeks this man
has almost fallen on his chair. What four times? You're
too light? Now you can't. You're used to a certain weight,
a certain heftiness on the seat.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Now you're light. You know, eleven pounds, eleven pounds light?
You can't even sit? All right? Feeling good? Oh man?
You okay, I'm good now. I'm not proud of you.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
By the way, for those who just joined the show, no,

I said he they made him an offer he couldn't
refuse one hundred and sixty million, one hundred and twenty
three guaranteed you change your mind too, eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
So we got Scott in North Carolina. You're in the
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Scott?

Speaker 3 (15:41):
So, my gosh, how you're doing.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
What's up?

Speaker 7 (15:43):
Bud Dog started my weight lost journey the first of March.
I'm down three pounds, so definitely motivation for me to to.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Get like me, get down there, three pounds, keep it working,
doing anything, don't don't do be me right now.

Speaker 7 (15:59):
Yes, sir, with this mid Garrett Garrett thing, I feel
using abuse definitely as the Eagles fan. He flirted with us.
We took him off to lunch all so he could
just get a free meal. I mean, you said the
goal was to win, and they just threw numbers that
you you folded like a plastic chair man. I'm disappointed, man.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
No doubt he was serious about it.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
He wanted a Philly cheese tak Sometimes you want a
Philly cheese stake out here.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Sometimes gott.

Speaker 7 (16:28):
Man. You gotta stop him, man, that's why. And the
Browns made a terrible decision. You should have just recouped
everything you lost with the song one. Yes, two guys
hadn't that much money. It didn't make sense.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Right, You got two guys making way too much money.
Jerry in Seattle, you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
What's up, sid Jerry?

Speaker 6 (16:47):
Hey guys, how's going Man?

Speaker 8 (16:49):
Happy Monday to you you too, Man, Hey, Kelvin, I
I really liked uh you're on fire talking about I
think all the right reasons they you know, gave him
that money, you know, and Uh, I think a twenty
nine year old man can change his mind when he's
given that, you know, that kind of dose put in
front of him. And you know, as far as like

(17:12):
being a fraud and taking less money, I mean really,
the only in my mind famous professional football player that
ever did that consistently with Tom Brady and Rob probably
called him a fraud more than anybody else.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
Well, because he cheated, Jerry, Because Jerry he cheated, He cheated.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Do you know that the Patriots cheated? Do you know that, Jerry?
Or you're still living in a fantasy one he's just
saying I will get caught a fraud e the way,
we might as well.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Get on undred twenty three mil for another time, right, Hey, Jerry,
you're a fraud.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Thanks for calling.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
I appreciate Jerry Hope for you one hundred and twenty
three million dollars fraud though, that was funny.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
John Orlando, you're the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
What's up?

Speaker 6 (17:52):
John, Hey Robbie. A nice catch up you guys.

Speaker 8 (17:54):
Yet I didn't caught.

Speaker 6 (17:55):
At quite a while. Man, good, good, congratulations.

Speaker 7 (18:00):
I heard you went the Anarctics.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Yes, that was an awesome trip. That was He ain't
called it a minute minute.

Speaker 6 (18:05):
You know, there was a you know, I know, I know.
It's been a while, man, Kevin.

Speaker 7 (18:08):
This is the first time my cast since you've been on.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
I know because he called me Kevin Kelvin, Kelvin Calvin.
I'm sorry, go ahead, brother.

Speaker 7 (18:16):
So my thing is this, Oh, let me take one
of the things.

Speaker 6 (18:21):
You know that the brother was died, so our Antarctica
Haitian influencer. He went out there and was died in chilly.

Speaker 8 (18:27):
In the mount But anyway you.

Speaker 6 (18:28):
Can get okay, anyway, I'm back to the point back
to the point. So let's say you wanted the money
and they weren't giving it to you.

Speaker 8 (18:38):
Is it okay for you to change negotiating strategy, say
whatever you want you to get the money.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
I just don't.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
He could have said that he's not happy with being
in Cleveland. Hello, I'm not happy, hear me out, not
about It's not about He could have said, I'm not
happy with the way things are going here. That's a
different conversation than say, I want to win. I'm not
happy here. You know what I mean. We got a

(19:04):
quarterback without he didn't have to go to all the details.
But I'm not happy with what's happened here. If you
use that you want and then they want to make
you happy with money, that's fine. That's not what he said.
He said he wanted to win and that he was
ready to move on. And that's all I'm saying. You
could use any strategy you want, but you said one
thing and then all they did was throw money at you.

(19:25):
So so it was about money. It wasn't about winning.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
The only issue. I have appreciate the Calle John teams
do that all the times. Teams say we're about winning,
We're about winning. We're about and then they tank teams
say they're about winning, we're about winning. Well, then they
trade the player that you thought they would never trade.
I'm just about I get what you're saying. I'm just saying, if.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
You're a man of your talking about winning, like like
I just don't I want to win.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Okay, So he was saying that you couldn't win in Cleveland.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
That's why he wanted out to just money.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
That's crazy, it's not you know what I mean. That's like,
that's like, you're missing the point.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
It doesn't matter today it was eighty eighty million, It
doesn't matter. That was not his motive was not about winning.
That's all I'm saying to you.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
That wasn't his mom I don't agree. I thought he was.
Thought he did.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
And then they have new information they give me with
some new numbers. All Right, we got Joel Corey getting
ready to join us here in just a little bit,
talk some some more NFL movement and things that have
happened in the last twenty four hours.

Speaker 2 (20:24):

what's up? Steve.

bunch is happening. You heard some of it with Steve
There some more that he didn't have a chance to
get to. Joel Corey is joining us now, former sports agent,
CBS Sports NFL analysts, and you can find him on
Twitter x Corey Joel there, Joel, what's up and how
you doing?

Speaker 3 (20:58):
What's up?

Speaker 2 (20:59):
Oh? I'm great, doing excellent.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
Man, not as good as some of these players in
the NFL getting all the money. We were just talking
about Miles Garrett one hundred and twenty three guaranteed one
hundred and sixty million dollar deal. We can just you
can kind of put a final button on there for us.
Would you make that deal? Do you feel as if
maybe he lied to the people of Cleveland saying he
wanted to win?

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Or does money change things just your overall or is
it a mistake by Cleveland who can't win?

Speaker 1 (21:25):
You got a bad quarterback who taking up a lot
of his cap space. You have a bad team at
last place, wouldn't it been better to move them and
actually get some pieces to help that team.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
I'm surprised by Cleveland.

Speaker 6 (21:38):
No, they're never gonna move him just because he's arguably
the best defensive player in the NFL. This is what
it comes down to. I think a guy named Joseph
Simmons once said money is the key to end all
your woes, your ups and downs. You're highs and your lows.
It's like that, and that's the way it is. I

(22:02):
thought that was gonna throw enough money at him that
everyone has a price, that he was gonna be all
right staying after he's made the big stink in all
the rounds. Let's go play for a winner. It's always
about the money, all right.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
I think they made a mistake. I don't see them
winning anything. They're not gonna win it.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
It doesn't it doesn't make sense to me.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
At some point, you could finish you finished in last
place Joel with him, you can finish in last place
without him. I'm dead serious when I say that. And
I know people don't want to move off of great players,
and they gotta hold on to him. The fan base
will be mad or whatever, but you're not winning anything there.
What they didn't do anything to improve their team. They
already had him. They gave him more money that they

(22:51):
won't be able to use on other people. How does
that make Cleveland better? Is what I'm asking But sometimes
you gotta.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Do stuff for the team.

Speaker 6 (22:59):
Two twenty three, so if they can get halfway decent
quarterback play, I don't think Kenny Pikett is it that
they'll be okay now in.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
That division and that division, they're gonna be okay.

Speaker 6 (23:13):
They got to the playoffs somehow two years ago in
that division.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
I'm asking you that that division, the way you look
at it now, they're going to make the playoffs.

Speaker 6 (23:24):
No, no, they're not. Because you've got Cleveland, not Cleveland.
More that they can get out of their own way,
then they could. They should win a super Bowl. But
if the Bengals, if they could show up in September
their playoff team, I don't know who's throwing the football
in Pittsburgh, but they have got offensive weapons now on

(23:45):
the outside. I don't know if George Pickens is going
to be there because if he's a kind of temperamental
before he gets paid and you go paying outsider first
and you're not going to pay him. That's not gonna work.
But wrong go theory. If you're not gonna win anything.

(24:06):
There's a team that hadn't won a super Bowl in
thirty years that has someone who has a claimed to
be the highest paid nine quarterback, Michael Parsons. So or
to your theory, Dallas should trade him for.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
I would trade him. I absolutely would.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
I would.

Speaker 6 (24:23):
Okay, at least you're consistent. I like the consistent.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
No, I would. I'm not rob Gi'll tell you, I've
been saying this for a while. I'm not.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
I'm just if you're not gonna win, you know what
I mean, seriously, just paying people to hold on to him?
To me, but I wouldn't be an executive because people
wouldn't like me.

Speaker 4 (24:41):
Well, and I don't know. I just do think you're
under selling the point of I get your point. Everyone
others in why sign has got good amount of money.
There is something to having some stable for some selling
thing to a fan, some jerseys that are bought, some
people may come.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
It's still a business.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
And there's just like the Dallas Fabrics who decided Joel
that we're not paying this guy three hundred and fifty million.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
That's what they decided. It had nothing to do with basketball,
did it. It didn't.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Clearly he's one of the best players in the league.
It was we're not paying him.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Three hundred and fifty million dollars. All right, Well, let's
go to more NFL. Yeah, we'll get to some more
with that again, just to re hash, will we got?
We got?

Speaker 4 (25:17):
Joel Cory is joining the High Couple Robin Kelvin on
a Magic City Monday. Let's talk about Sam Donald uh
win or lose, depending on how you look at it.
I look at it as he won. He got fifty
five guaranteed, a three years millions see, and he's the
games Joel, Joe, welcome to the Hode Couple. You see
how it works. Yes, I say he won. You wasn't
thinking about a year ago. You never thought Sam Donald

(25:39):
wild get fifty five guaranteed.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
If they had him on his shoulders in the locker
room before the season was over, Joel, You saw the scene.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Now, They wouldn't even offer him a franchise tag.

Speaker 6 (25:50):
What was that about?

Speaker 3 (25:54):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (25:54):
I think if you're as good as your last game,
then Minnesota was like we got to go. We have
Grapta JJ mcar McCarthy for a reason. But you are
right that if you said this time last year, Sam
Donald would be signing at Baker Mayfield count Track, and
one probably would have laughed. I don't know. He does

(26:15):
have more upside. This pretty clear deal. Smip was not
gonna take that.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
Oh all right, we'll have a little trouble here with you.
Joel called right back, rob G Joe.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
You're still there.

Speaker 6 (26:30):
I'm still here, all right.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
Give us another few seconds, he to see if we
can hear you. All right, we'll have a Joe call
back a couple of minutes before me. But uh sounded
like he was saying, yeah, you're clearly two bad games
for Sam, and I know part of Sam has to
feel like, Man, I had a couple of bad games,
and so you do me a couple of weeks ago.
I'm on your shoulders and now you don't want to you, hey, man,

(26:55):
appreciate you out of here.

Speaker 1 (26:56):
If you showed that video and say this guy's not
with the team anymore, you won't believe.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
That's the opening.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
You know, they had those opening to the movies they
show they start there and then they freeze it.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
And then this was me two weeks ago, and then
you go always with me.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
Now he's packing, you know, getting ready to leave. So
but again I just think to me, if you three years,
one hundred million, obviously fifty five guarantee, we'll see how
it all works out, not even.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
That much for Minnesota, is what I'm trying to tell you,
Like that's a bargain.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
All right, Yeah, we got Joel backed. All right, Joe's
go finish your thought you were saying, Sam Donald.

Speaker 6 (27:27):
Yeah, well, if you're as good as your last game,
then I don't understand why Minnesota decided to go in
another direction. Plus, the original plan was we drafted JJ
McCarthy to be the quarterback for a reason. Donald was
the stop gap measure. But also, at the same time,
you said a year ago Sam Donald was going to
be signing a Baker Mayfield type contract. Everyone would have

(27:47):
laughed at you. Obviously, if Gino Sniff would have taken
that type videal, he'd still be there, he wouldn't. I
expect he's going to be a forty million dollars plus
player in Las Vegas. We'll see if which is the
real Sam Donald, If the real Sam Donald is the
one who got to the Pro Bowl and looked great

(28:07):
for the better part of seventeen weeks. And it's a
great move for Seattle. If it's the same Donald from before,
then he's good. He could be a one year deal
or two year deal.

Speaker 4 (28:20):
Yeah, we'll have to wait and see how this saw
pans out. But again, man, I just kind of caught
all of us off a guard. Again, we got Joe
Cory here well as well. Go ahead and in Las.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Vegas, Gino Smith, even in his situation, what do you
make of that? Like Gino was bad last year twenty
one touchdowns, fifteen picks, this is another And this is
all about making the coach feel comfortable and bringing in
his guys.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
What are the waiders doing?

Speaker 6 (28:52):
Gene? The thing about Gino last year, that offense Toronto
was horrible, So.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
So Sam Donald went to a bad offensive line where
they gave up one of their best offensive linemen and
they traded.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Away to their receivers. That's where Sam Donald went.

Speaker 6 (29:07):
Yeah, well, Sam Donald's going to be in a much
different situation than last year, having the outside receivers in
the running game. It's a different story for Sam If
Gino gets some protection. He's going to be he can
be all right now. The thing is, Sam is where
Gino was in twenty twenty three, one year wonder. At

(29:28):
least you have a three year track record with Gino.
Pete Carroll is not on a five year plan. It's
any three years old. You're trying to win now, so
you're trying to do everything possible accelerate it. So he
knows what Gino can do. He's comfortable with him. That's
a tough division. We've got three playoff teams in it,
so they still got some work to do in Las Vegas.

Speaker 4 (29:51):
All right, he is Joe cor hey man, We appreciate you,
thank yous to take some time out with us on
this Monday.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Thanks so much.

Speaker 6 (29:57):
Okay, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
All right.

Speaker 4 (29:59):
Davante Adams, he was on the move. We got to
discuss how that shakes things up in la. It is
the hot couple. Robin Kelvin on in Magic City Monday.

Rob Parker Washington on the mass theme song, Is that
what happened?

Speaker 2 (30:29):
He played on the alcohol.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
Right what he was saying that he wanted he was,
I am in that post. I didn't mean him then.
I was drunk. So by the way, I was randomly
at a party with Jamie Fox Saturday Show.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
I was in the streets a little bit.

Speaker 4 (30:42):
That's just the flax you gotta throw out that. Jamie
Fox didn't even know you were. He did not know
I was there. Absolutely, he didn't really leave the stage.
It was his dear friend, manager shot Todave Brown. It
was his birthday, big birthday party thing. My sister was
in times, you know, and so was like, let me,
you know, show are l a little bit because all
she've seen the kids, my daughter's daughter, it's all she's
been doing.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
So it was like, all right, let me get her
out a little bit.

Speaker 4 (31:03):
So it took everything I had to get out the house, Rob,
I mean everything.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
I mean.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
I was like stinnon, I'm like weiring out. I'm trying
my best. But I finally got the energy to get out.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
We had a good time. So nice.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
You know how it is, man, you want to show
somebody good time. To get out and get away from
the kids all week, even though she loves being with
her nieces. We're coming to you live from the tirag

(31:38):

always have instant access to our videos. We talked a
lot about quarterbacks today. We talked a lot about defensive players.
But there's some receivers that are in some different homes
in different places, and one of those receivers is Devonte Adams.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
Who is now here.

Speaker 4 (31:55):
He is now a ram, which if you are Sean
McVay and Matthew Stafford, now that he is got a
new deal, they have to be happy about a new
shiny toy that he can throw to. And DeVante Adams
is going to be getting some new money with this team.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
That's also for them.

Speaker 4 (32:11):
They got Pooking Nakoola now, so they have maybe the
most deadly one two punch when he talking about receivers
arguably in the league. So he's got a great to
a two year, forty four million.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Dollar deal with the Rams.

Speaker 4 (32:22):
And the deal has twelve million dollars signing bonus, eight
million dollar base blah blah blah, so a bunch of
other signing bonus. So it's basically a one year, twenty
million dollar deal with a bunch of extra incentives. I
like this deal for Matthew Stafford. They got rid of
Cooper Cup, they released him. Now you got Pooking n'kool,
who's probably the one. He's gonna get most of the
receptions the number wise, but Davante Adams maybe being more

(32:44):
of that threat, deep threat, end zone threat, they keep
at well as well. So they got another speed burner
on the outside as well. So I like, this is
what the Rams do. They have been able to say
after every couple of years, all right, we're going all in,
let's go get von Miller, let's go get obj let's
go make these moves to try to go you know,
Brandon Cooks, let's just make moves to try to win.

(33:06):
And they were one of those teams rather than like,
hey man, we're trying to win it off this year,
and they got Matthew Stafford back and looked like he
might lead.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
He didn't. Now you gave him some more weapons.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
And they're trying to compete in the NFC, which has
a bunch of really good teams, and they're trying to
make sure they're right there in the mix at the
end of the season. So I'm not I like this
pick up for them. They still got Davante Adams with
enough juice in the tank. This isn't quite like Hopkins
going to Kansas City, where if you thought you said
that was good, I remember I told you when they

(33:36):
thought he would get I thought they would utilize him more.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Bob, Do you remember that I was the hater that one.

Speaker 7 (33:44):
No, just was.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
People were like, oh, you don't know Hopkins, him and
Patrick Mahomes go look at the numbers.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
It was man, he didn't light it up. No, No,
it was man. Come on, man, That's what I'm just saying.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
Like people were making it and I was saying that
they should go out and get like a Davante Adams.
I was pushing for them to go out and get
a big time receiver. And I said they were shopping
at Target or something instead of going to blooming want
the Target for No, I'm not, but I'm just saying
in general.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Cooper, listen, Cooper Cup, who's kind of banged up something.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
But did they get a new quarterback with Devonte? Because
bat he only had twenty touchdowns and eight picks last year.
He didn't have a great year. And did they not struggle.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
The offense? Right?

Speaker 4 (34:27):
It was it was bad last year, but he's he
and they are tough out in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
And now you've got a Devonte Adams.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
Now you have a Coop uh pook, and the Coop
really not have to worry like the Cooper Cup things
he heard out of the guys were injured to a lot.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
The receiving corps was injured a lot to last year. Uh.
To be fair to them, but you know, you don't
like this.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
You don't think that's a good He's fine. I think
it's fine. I don't think it changes much.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
I like it. They stay healthy. I mean, that's a dude.

Speaker 4 (34:54):
They got a Kyen Williams in the backfield, They got
a nice little roster over they.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
Made the last year.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
Yeah, right, and they had away Sam Championship but they
had a chance, they didn't do it. And they also
they got to play Sam Darnell, who went the bed
in that game against them, didn't play well, so it
worked out. I'm just saying, I don't think it moved
him up the charts and puts him back, or at
least they at least replaced a Cooper Cup who was

(35:21):
really good when he wasn't injured for them and was
really a big time for them.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
So I think the vision is there to lose without
a doubt. I mean, I mean the Jets.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
The Jets had Davante to last year, and I mean,
as good as he is, it's it's about It's about
the quarterback and the team.

Speaker 4 (35:38):
He got a thousand yards between the Raiders and the
Jets for the fifth straight season last year.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
So and he just started.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Although if I'm him, hey, if I'm him, I got
beef with the a with Aaron Rodgers. Remember that play
with it like at the end of the end of
the season, last game, throw it to Aaron Rodgers, he
throws it back to Devant, throws back and he got
Devonte Adams laid out. I mean, I he got him
laid out. That That was a hit for the top
five hit of the season. But yah, Dad, that got
the division is there? So offensive offensively, that's a great

(36:08):
pick up for them to continue to kind of have
weapons on that side of the ball while they continue
to you know, get better even better on defense. So uh,
some receivers moving around. But I'm proud of him for
not going to one of his exes. Oh man, Derek Carr,
that's my man. I want to go fire Dereck. Aaron Rodgers,
that's my man. Where you at, Aaron Rodgers. I'm proud
of him for not sticking around waiting to see where

(36:29):
Aaron Rodgers went or if Derek Carr is gonna remain
where he is.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
I'm glad he went somewhere else where he can.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
You know who had they've been productive, won a Super
Bowl last few seasons ago, like stop chasing Ronja Axes,
Davante go get some new go get some new Booze
Todd him doing that, Alex is my quarterback?

Speaker 2 (36:48):
To me, Carr, where you're at it? Where you going
to me?

Speaker 1 (36:51):
It was the Derek Carr that was probably the bad
move because he really didn't know where Derek Carr fit
in and the idea of playing with him.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
And as soon as he got there, they moved on
from him.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
I mean that that to me is probably the all
time and it might have depending on how it feels,
but that could have derailed his Hall of Fame.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
That's possible if he was with Jordan Love, a better quarterback.
He's got some turnovers to work on, but a better quarterback,
better offense, a better much more stable organization, for sure,
we already know. But now he's with the Rams, we'll
see what he ends up doing there with a team
that was in the postseason, wants to get back again
and try to get back to their Super Bowl winning ways.

(37:29):
So we did talk a little bit about what's happening
over there in Pittsburgh. There's some movement happening there, guys
believing that that affects other teams like the Jets. I
think you and I differ on what those teams are doing,
so we'll discuss that. It is the odd couple. Rob
