Speaker 4 (01:34):
Big Game seven Oklahoma City Thunder hosting the Denver Nuggets,
and what would be It's just deciding who's gonna go
to the Western Conference Finals. Big game, everybody's watching. You
got the presumptive MVP SGA. You also have the could
have been MVP and Jokids and also former MVP and
Yokids going at it against their teams. But I'm gonna

(01:58):
get straight to it, Rob, I'm gonna need some of
this smoke for Nikola jokicch And Nikola Jokis is the
best player in the NBA, which is why this is
what comes with it. There is no way that I
was waking up on my Lord Sunday thinking that Alex
Caruso would lock down Nikola Jokic, not for possession, not

(02:22):
for a quarter, not for a handful of plays, but
for eighty percent of the offensive possessions. Alex Caruso was
guarding Na Kohla Jokic, and I think that absolutely is disappointing.
And the idea that he would only have twenty points
and in game seven. That was supposed to be the
quote check barbecue chicken. That's supposed to be every time

(02:44):
we get the ball, Jamal Murray, gimme the rock because
I'm about to file this little dude out and then
I'm a follout.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Whoever comes up next.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
And the idea that Alex Caruso could guard him, front him,
post him, deflect balls from him.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
He had five tone of us.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
He Jokich was really really disappointed to me, especially when
you could gain considered this is an MVP candidate annually
parenially won a bunch of them. This is a guy
we all deem as the best player in the world. Well,
when you're the best player of the world, same type
of smoke would come to Kobe, the late Great Kobe
come to Lebron, would come to Shaq if Shaq, if

(03:20):
Shaquille O'Neal had PJ. Tucker garden him, really good defender,
great energy, hard nosed guy. But if Shaq had PJ.
Tucker garden him in a game seven and he had
nine field goal attempts, it only had twenty points and
did not dominate that we would have all types of
issues with him.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
If PJ.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Tucker was able to guard Tim Duncan in his prime,
we would have issues with that. So I thought in
a big game, in a game seven, specifically, I'm talking
about Yokis because there's other things to have conversations about.
Watching that, I was blown away that him, his coach,
and his team couldn't find a way for him to
be more effective. Download Now, credit Oklahoma City Thunder. They

(04:05):
swarmed him, they had great defense, they had a great
game plan coming in, so absolutely give credit to them.
But there's no way the best player in the world
in a game seven is supposed to get dominated by
a six foot five and that might be giving him
some Alex Caruso because again I go back to some
of the great bigs. If Akeem Olajuwan was getting fronted
and getting deed up by PJ. Tucker, there's no way

(04:28):
he would live that down. So again he has to
get some of this smoke. And I start to think,
man again, again, I'm wondering. People have had negative things
to say about the Anthony Davis and Lebron led run
with the Lakers, Right, oh man, they didn't do this,
they didn't do that, And I'm looking at the Nuggets
saying what they got to they got a ring in

(04:50):
a Western Conference finals appearance.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
That's it. And if you had the best player.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Now we've saved for three, four five years, I'm expecting
a little bit more out of that. I'm expecting some
finals appearances. Maybe you don't win them all, but we
got to three, we won one or two, and I'm
expecting some more. So specifically for yo Kisch, that was
a disappointing performance for me. There are some things to
talk about with the team. There's some teams things that
I would dissect in a little bit, but specifically for Yokis.

(05:19):
You have to dominate. There's no way Caruso should be
guarding you. That's supposed to be easy money rocked a
little bit of them put the baby to sleep, and
that's supposed to be thirty eight points off the rim,
and I was shocked to see that. And credit Alex
Caruso for the way he played and ignited his team.
It was a plus I think plus forty five in

(05:40):
the plus minus something like that.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Are you done? Oh no, that's just done with Yokis.
I got more stuff for the Nuggets.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Okay, because you have a your memory is slight, Oh please, Yeah,
your memory because your guy, you're king Lebron James, who
you think is the best player in the league.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Do you remember a guy named JJ Berea.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
Do you remember him for sure? And that's my point.
He got the smoke. Oh, that's exactly my point. Remember
JJ Barrey exactly. But but but Lebron averaged seventeen point
eight points in that series. Okay, seventeen point eight terrible.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Okay, And here's the other thing too, And you can
talk about the joker all you want, and and what
happened in that game. Obviously they got blown out, and
they've lost two years in a row. In game sevens
and all that he deserved, they lost. We're gonna celebrate
when they win or whatever. But what this guy's been
able to do without the supporting cas He don't have
no Big Three, he doesn't have the he doesn't even

(06:37):
have another All Star. He doesn't even have another No
NBA players ever won a championship without another All Star, nobody.
And that doesn't get my pass for every series or
every time they lose. But no, because because it's a
fact when somebody has never nobody's ever done it except

(06:58):
for him, I gotta lo look at him and say
he's gotta be somewhat special and that other people haven't been.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Able to accomplish this.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
That's all I'm saying is if you look at it
and you could say he's belly aching about thin the bench,
it you know that they stripped that championship team has
been stripped down where they lost three or four key
players from that bench and contributors to that championship. And
you could go look at just the Phoenix Suns, who

(07:27):
couldn't even make the playoffs with three top heavy players
at the top, but they don't have the rest of
the foundation. That's why the house collapse. You have to
have other players to go along with it. Game six,
you wouldn't have been saying that because he scored forty
two and forced to game seven, Right, he can't lose
against seven.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
But I'm just saying, but I'm to be consistent. I
called him out throughout this series, right, But I'm just saying,
but he did come.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Up to the game. And that's the conversation because.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
This is not just him, is what I'm trying to
say to you, That you could have moments like this
like Lebron had and it didn't stop him from you
thinking that he's the all time greatest.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Some people were looking at you the greatest, he's the best.
Conversation for another day, but some people might think JJ
berea what Lebronn he got killed for it. Don't make
Nicole Steph Curry.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
You can never criticize, but you can never say you're
not talking about you say. I'm saying people Steph Curry
got hit in the finals that disappear. You know, this
is one thing we agree on. I'm not saying that
you can't. But it's hard for me.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
I'm dead serious looking at that team and looking at
those two rosters, and you're telling me that the nugget
should have won that game. No, I'm glad that that's
what I'm trying to have a Game seven. You look
at that, and I have a more than capable Jamal
Murray who is all Star like and we all know that,
and I have the pieces around me, and I have

(08:53):
the best player in the world. Two years in a
row against the Star the upstarts, Anthony Edwards gets him
in the Game seven. The next year, SGA gets him
in the Game seven. I'm saying we would not cut
anybody else that slack. No one's giving them. I don't
know what slack. I just I just think you're trying

(09:14):
to paint him. I'm not trying you're saying to paint
him more for him. No, you're trying trying to paint
him like he's not that good. That's what it sounds
like to me, Like you're trying to like, I don't
he gotta get the smoke or whatever like Like, what
I'm trying to say to you is, yes, they lost.

(09:36):
The last two years, a lot has gone on. They
fired the coach before the playoffs started. They don't have
all that players, you know, they don't have the same
uh players that they had. There's some other things that
are there, and you can put some of it on him,
and I'm not saying that you can't. But when I
look at this and I look at it, I look
at and say, what are the Denver Nuggets doing as

(09:59):
far as not giving this guy at least another All
Star so that you don't waste his run? And that's
but but but I'm not gonna sit here and go
the reason that they lost is because he wasn't big
time in that game.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
I'm giving him a big, big piece of that chunk
because you can't time.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
He can't.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
If he just went out and just you know, hey,
it was mister shots and it just happened.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
You know, hey, everybody loses a game.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
I get that Rob alex Caruso can't guard you, like seriously,
you have to be insulted that Alex Carusoe not for
a few plays. I get that there were some picking
switches or guy was in foul trouble. They threw him
on a four minute Alex Caruso guarded you effectively very well.
It might have been the best player on the floor
outside of SGA, and maybe he was the most effective

(10:48):
player on the floor.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
That can't happen.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
And what I'm saying is two years in a row
and a game seven, the young upstart Anthony Edwards one
year last year and this year SGA they outplayed and
they want and he's the best player in the NBA universally.
So all I'm saying is for him to be the
best player. Saying, what do you say? So I just
said it. So he's the reason that they've lost the
lots to say, he has to get the blame. Hello,

(11:15):
is this thing going? No, he is too blame because
he's the best. He's the reason that they lost, not
that his team isn't that good. He's the reason that
they lost. But how is the team not thereunderstand that
because you're mixing it up as very Nicolai. So he's
the reason that they lost. I just said he is
a large boat. Jamal Murray has to give you more.
Your four players, who are the four corps from the

(11:36):
previous championship, gave you I believe, forty seven points total
including Yo Kics. That's terrible. That's trash and that can't happen.
And what I'm saying is I know for any other
person who we call the best player in the world,
we hold them to a standard, and he cannot get
held to the same standard. Whoever was the best player
in the world for their period of time two years,

(11:58):
three years, five years, whatever it was. So the same
smoke earlier, Jannie, I wasn't listening to your show, so
I don't Yeah, you were sitting right here, your buns
were sitting right there, or you might have been trying
to climb up on his dag on table with your
crazy self. Rob G did I not give Jannis this
same smoke? You're too good. He wasn't listening to your
show that you're too good? Was you're too good to

(12:21):
not be in the conversation.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Yeah, I remember him on the seven ten Days. Thank
you Rob. Nobody remembers that.

Speaker 5 (12:28):
I remember because I got to get a job. Then
they're like, nah, man, we got enough. I know you
right over it. By the way, ro Rob made the
right decision. I didn't make the decision. They made the
decision and will be honest about it. Who hey, i'mna
just say that morcellous, he didn't like you. I'm gonna
just say they missed out on you.

Speaker 6 (12:44):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Just all I'm gonna say you you you were you
are that guy.

Speaker 5 (12:48):
No, but dub has been very consistent with his standards
for great players.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
If you're giannest I shouldn't be wondering is he gonna
make it to the second round? Is he gonna be
this or why is this team flounder? Because when I
see people who are the best for their period of time.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
When Lebron didn't get in the couldn't even make the
playing game, he gets smoked.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
He got smoked. He gets smoked because that's the standard.
I just think Aaron.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
Judge is the best hitter in baseball, maybe the best player,
and when he sucks in the postseason, Aaron Judge gets
to smoke.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
If Mookie Bets and Freddie Freeman.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Go one for one hundred million like they did a
couple years back, they get the smoke.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Rob You know this.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
I am the smoke detector right now, and I'm not
detecting enough. Game seven, two years in a row against
some young pupps. He loses, and he did not look great.
It's not like he went out on a shield forty
five points. I gave him my all twenty point five
turnovers and Alex Crusoe guard you come on, man, come
on man. Because jj Birea Lebron was playing like trash.

(13:51):
He got smoked deservedly.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
So eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox is the
telephone number of it. Second go off, You ain't changed
the battery sixty three sixty nine. Does Nicola Jokic deserve
smoke for what happened to the Nuggets against OKC or
there are other flaws that Kelvin haven't seen or didn't

(14:13):
look it. For whatever, you put an extra sauce on there,
I'm just an extra sauce kind of guy. We'll continue
that conversation next with you. It is the Odd Couple

The way tied buying should be.

Speaker 6 (15:17):
All right.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
We're taking phone calls. Listen, I said Jo Kic, amazing player.
Come on man, two game sevens in a row. I
need more from you. Carus okay't guard you, big dog.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
What's up with that? Rod says, it's okay, it was
everybody else's fault. I didn't say that.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
I just thought, I think it's just easy I feel
when you just be tailing what I didn't say. No, no, no,
I'm just trying to explain to you that's not what
I said.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. So we got
Andre in Massachusetts.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
D're on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio and it's
okay to I'm trending on Twitter right now.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Okay, oh boy, can you not ken Len?

Speaker 3 (15:54):
We tell you?

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Let me go, look now, Andre, go ahead, man couple.
What's up, Drake?

Speaker 7 (16:00):
How you doing?

Speaker 8 (16:01):
Thanks taking a call?

Speaker 7 (16:02):
Happy Monday.

Speaker 8 (16:03):
Now.

Speaker 7 (16:03):
I can't place the majority on the blame on Joker
because in my mind, he's the reason that they was
in the series to begin with. He had the monster
forty point games at triple doubles. There was a little
bit of inconsistency with his field goal percentage, but to
my mind, I feel like he mag Dog the Oklahoma
City Thunder and specifically shake Gilgi's Alexander. Throughout this series.
He was the most dominant player from the beginning to

(16:25):
the end, well up until Game seven. What happened yesterday.
That it's not that you lose, it's how you lose,
and that game not being competitive, but the thunder and
the third.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
Tiler not being competitive in the Game seven, that that's
that's ugly.

Speaker 7 (16:38):
Yeah, So that has to come back on him as
well as the team leader. But how he's shines throughout
the series, that's for me, you know, And that's why
I don't have Oklahoma City as the favorite at all,
you know, because they've shown that they're you can beat
them and they're human.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
That's the thing.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
This All four of these teams have literally shown that
they that they're all beatable. You know, there's no Warriors
KD running around. Here's no shocking Kobe running around here.
All right, who got next?

Speaker 1 (17:04):
All right, let's go Scott in North Carolina. You're on
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Scott?

Speaker 9 (17:09):
What's something?

Speaker 10 (17:10):
My guys are done?

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Where you've been? Scott? You hanging out?

Speaker 9 (17:14):
I've been enjoying my my Super Bowl runner. I want
to first say congratulations with coach Seraianni. He's developed talent,
you know him and Jim Hurts came in at the
bottom of their position. Now that at the top of
the league, and he's developed all that talent that Howie
Roseman gave him. So he's a development of talent.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Scott, what you got about this? No,
he's right.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
See, he don't want to hear that, Scott, because he
just tried to tried to blame the Sirianni too for
winning a supermar I didn't blame him.

Speaker 9 (17:45):
But Jokis. I mean, he should be a shame the
way Alex Caruso put a body on him like that. Man,
he's supposed to be the what three time MVP, two
times MVP something like that, and you got shut down
by Caruso and in game seven, I don't want to
hear how bad his team is. I mean, he got
his team to that mark, but you, being that player
is supposed to get him over the hump. In the
game seven it was disappointed.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Yeah, I'm with you, Scott.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
He's still that guy. Nobody's questioning that. But you gotta
come on, it's two years in a row against a
young pup. He was supposed to dominate.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
All right, we got some uh, we got some wisdom
coming Mark from Sacramento.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up?

Speaker 6 (18:19):
Mark, Mark, what's going on? Rob? And mister Washington. I'm
gonna put you in your place. You told me I
called with Bravado Friday after I hung up. I don't
call with Blevado when you're talking to the NBA. I
called with facts. You need to check with mister Parker.
So no, I going to educate you.

Speaker 8 (18:33):
You that dude.

Speaker 10 (18:35):
You don't blame that dude. You don't blame him for nothing.
That dude just went through two state seven game series
carrying a half her team and a half team that
could just shoot. And if it weren't here, they would
even been in those games. He ran out of gas.

Speaker 6 (18:47):
And this is the number one defense across the ball
hut on the city.

Speaker 10 (18:50):
But what do you what do you expect that you.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
To do with no h Mark Mark Mark hol On,
hold on, hold on, Mark Marko real quick.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
I'm gonna let you go. So you're okay.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
I didn't say Alonzo morning to kem Ba Matombo Hakeema
Loadjawana was guardener. I said, Alex Caruso guarded him eighty
percent of the time. That's all I mat You're okay
with that, With that performance you saw with Alex Caruso
in the game seven, guard you.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
That's what I didn't ask you about the season. You're
okay with that.

Speaker 8 (19:17):
You won't be able to catch you.

Speaker 10 (19:18):
Rookie Ty wouldn't guarding nobody buy himself.

Speaker 6 (19:21):
They were coming from different angles. They wouldn't just go
living by himself.

Speaker 10 (19:24):
As soon as he touched that ball, there was somebody
coming from someplace, from some angle, and he was tired.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Now he's tired, Okay, just say Mark, thank you. Mark.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
Make sure you save that same empathy, same empathy for
Luca when he's tired, or whoever it may be. Next,
might be Sga if he's tired in Game seven, get feisty,
give it to him, Mark Man. Sga was tired, Brunton
was tired. Just make sure you give him that that out.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Who next? Oh, Steven Sagas next? My bad? Steve? What's
train of Steve?

Speaker 3 (19:56):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio

Speaker 11 (20:08):
All Right, we got a wild game going with the
Cubs at Miami the Marlins had scored four times bottom
of the fifth to take the lead. Cubs have just
scored four times top of the sixth to take the advantage.
It is seven to six and the Cubs catcher Miguel
Amaya has five RBIs so far, Cardinals out to a
one nothing lead.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
On the RBI or RBIs, where are you on that.

Speaker 11 (20:29):
He has five RBIs five runs plural betted in?

Speaker 4 (20:33):
But no he has I don't think I've ever heard
ei though it's always her eyes. No, it should be
five RBI. The runs is plural, not the I see
what happens, Steve. He gets a class and now he's
just gonna teach us.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Steve, am I right or wrong on that The runs
is plural. That's correct, So you don't need the s
on the end. It's not runs bad, it's for something
that it's not ends. No, but it doesn't make sense,
so you think it should be times out?

Speaker 1 (20:59):
No, no, no, many you have runs bated in. Whether
it's one or five, it's an RBI. Steve got a
run bat it in or runs bat it in? It's RBI.
It's never RBIs. RBIs is incorrect.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
I'm glad we got this glass between of Steve about
to jump over here on you man.

Speaker 11 (21:17):
Usually people are more settled after vacation at the bottom
of the second inning for the Twins their ninth reign
delay already this year. What Red Sox are leading the
Mets three to one in the top of the sixth
and it is the red zone a f s one.
I had two to one at Pittsburgh in the bottom
of the seventh.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
What time did that game start? My god? Which game?

Speaker 9 (21:40):
That that?

Speaker 2 (21:40):
The Reds game? It's on the seventh inning already, Yes
it is.

Speaker 11 (21:44):
Nick Lidolo is a great starter for Cincinnati. He hasn't
even really hit the surface of what he can be
as a lefty on the mound. Six innings, seven strikeouts. Tonight,
Philadelphia Eagles gave coach Nick Sirianni a contract extension in
the NBA Oklahoma City host Minnesota to start the Western
Conference Finals Tuesday night.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
Back to you, he is, Steve the sacred Thank you, Steve,
appreciate it. That's all right, Steve, you got that little
extra gave you there. You don't lose that, all right.
I'm telling you, don't dive on you. You know I'm
be here to winning IMNA have to be the witness
like this, what happened? I was, you know, and this happen?
This happened. Antonio Daniels is our guests now.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
NBA champions, Serius Sex five, NBA Radio New Orleans Pelicans analysts,
and our guy, hardest working man in the business, A
d what's up, bro?

Speaker 2 (22:30):
What's happening?

Speaker 6 (22:32):
Fellers?

Speaker 8 (22:32):
Look going on? What's going on?

Speaker 6 (22:34):
Well? You know what?

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Put a button on this conversation.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
I was disappointed and half smoked with Nikola Jokics because
you're the best player in the world.

Speaker 6 (22:44):
We know this.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
But just like any other best player who had their seeds,
you know, their time Lebron or Kobe or Shack or
Jorda whoever, if they've lost a couple of game sevens
in a row to the young pupps Anthony Edwards last year,
SGA this year.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
And had Alex Carrill so good on him.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
You know that's supposed to be barbecue checking and I
know they swarmed him, but come on, he's supposed to
perform better than that. If he went out forty five
points at what more do you want? I was disappointing
that performance, were you yes?

Speaker 8 (23:12):
Yes? And I mean, that's definitely takes to say definitely disappointed.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
But that ain't the only reason they lost, though, I
mean I did, It's not you can go to a lot.
That's what I'm saying. Like you got to be fair.

Speaker 8 (23:25):
Yesay, I mean to be fair, I thought. And again
the thing I hate to do the next day is
put blame on someone for whatever. I'll give you two
things that stood out to me. First and foremost, I
give a ton of credit to Aaron Gordon. Were actually
toughing it out and going to play.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Right, he shouldn't even better after.

Speaker 8 (23:47):
You played, after you played to five minutes, go aheadto them,
because he became a liability. Yep, he became a liability
to his team. And I respect him so much. He's
one of my favorite players in the league because of
his story, him losing his brother and taking in his
brother's kids, all of that. Like, I love him as
a person. But in Game seven, you have to understand

(24:09):
sometimes you have to save players from themselves. And yesterday
you did your job by going out and starting and
toughing it out for the first five minutes. Oh, Denver
got off to a great start. Now you can go
ahead and sit down you gotta trust Peyton Watson, you
gotta trust Julian straw the you have to trust some
of the other guys on that bitch. He became a
liability one number two to start of the second quarter,

(24:32):
sitting the Kola Jokics, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter at
the same time. Crazy to start the second quarter. Man, Listen,
that was a turning point.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
In the game to me, So what if what do
they do now? Because I've been hard on gotta.

Speaker 8 (24:48):
Fred Michael Porter? What there are certain teams right now
that are that are that are stuck Because if you
look at a team like Milwaukee, if you look at
a team like Phoenix, you know, do you hear all
that talks about trading Kevin Durant, Milwaukee trading Giannis could
They don't have Timberg, doesn't have They don't have financial

(25:11):
flexibility moving forward, They don't have really really good talented
young players, and they don't test ever excuse me, assets,
Brad assets. So the only thing that they can do
for financial freedom and moving forward is to put Michael
Porter Jr. On the trading block, maybe get something back

(25:32):
in return.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
What happened? Did he forget he knew how to play
basketball other than shoot threes.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
What happens when guys just become relegated to something like that,
Like he's actually a quality players, but all he thinks
he can shoot up his spot up threes.

Speaker 8 (25:45):
Well, I mean that in that offense, and that offense,
that was a lot again, that's who he was. He
gave Nicola Yochic space. But here's the thing about about
that team. You can go back now and look and
see why Calvin Booth and Michael Malone ended up butting
his Because what Calvin Booth wanted, he wanted Julian Strautherer

(26:08):
and seek Nazi and Picket and those guys to play
during the season. So that way, when you got to
this point in the season, those guys were seasoned and
ready to go. Right Michael, I mean and Malone. Coach Malone,
he didn't. But the thing is Coach Malone didn't have
Bruce Brown, he didn't have Depth Green, he didn't have

(26:29):
to take a Carwell Pole. So I don't understand those.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Are big those are big pieces to their championship team.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
You just mentioned three guys, Like That's what I'm trying
to say, is like, like those are three major pieces
that are.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
No longer in Denver's.

Speaker 8 (26:43):
That's why you need to You need to give those
young players minutes. And it's very, very difficult to do
two things at the same time. To try and win
a championship and to develop, that's hard to do.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Let me ask you this. I want to go to
the Knicks and Pacers.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Last year, the Pacers beat them in seven games at
Madison Square Garden. I don't know, Nicks were banged up
by the time they got there, So I'm not trying
to act like it's a foregone conclusion, but I think
people have overlooked the Pacers for I mean, this is
two years in a row to Eastern Conference Finals.

Speaker 8 (27:13):
I'm guilty.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
We all are we all are?

Speaker 1 (27:15):
We all are coming in They weren't afterthought, Antonio, you
know what I mean, coming into the playoffs, and tell
me about the Pacers and why why can't they not
make it to the championship.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
They can what they can.

Speaker 8 (27:30):
If you can make it to the Eastern Conference Finals,
you can make it, you can win the NBA. You
can make it, no question. Because with the Pacers, for me,
it becomes a war of patrician right. They get up
and down the floor similar to Oklahoma City. They run
on makes missus turnovers. Bad shots against the Pacers are
like live ball turnovers. I tell you the big thing

(27:51):
that I'm watching with this particular series in general, it's
one thing that I'm watching. I'm watching how they allow
nim Hard and Nie Smith to are Jalen Brunton, Because
you know what, Jalen Brunt is really good at that.
Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland don't do fail. He sales
right right. Some people call it unethical hoopie. For me,

(28:13):
I think it's the game within the game. So for me,
in Game one, which is Wednesday, I am going to
pay attention on how physical do they allow nim Hart
and Nie Smith to be with Jaylon Brunton. That could
be the difference in the series.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
Now, I want to say this about Tyre's Halliburton, who
was voted the most overrated player by the players, and Antony,
you're in this media business and you know this, and
I've always had issues. I don't think players can always
be honest when they have skin in the game.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
I really don't.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
Because we saw when the league allow players to vote
for the All Star Game one hundred and thirty players
didn't vote for Lebron James.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Over one hundred didn't vote for Kevin Durant.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
That's not because it becomes personal, because it's then That's
what I'm saying, when you have skin in the game,
because you know it's hard to really you gotta be
removed from it.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
You can't have any skin in the game. You can't
be And there's a lot of that. We've even seen.

Speaker 8 (29:10):
We've even seen people that are removed from it. Even
some of the people that are removed us they have
actors to grind too.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
We saw Paul Pierce not have Lebron James in his
top ten. You could be an analyst all you want.
And if I'm gonna if you're gonna have any credibility
and say he's not in the top ten of players
of all time, how can I listen to you?

Speaker 2 (29:27):
And I'm just being honest.

Speaker 8 (29:29):
We heard who was it? Markis Morris say that nicolea.
Jokic wasn't top whatever.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Right, I mean, I mean, like when you hear that stuff.
So my point is about Halliburn, whether they like him
or not. I saw this guy make two game winning
shots in less than a week and Steph Curry still hasn't.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Made one in fifteen years.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
I mean, like, how can you look at that guy
and I think that he's a really overrated I'm not
saying anything superstar.

Speaker 8 (29:56):
I'll say this Rob, I think they don't like him.
Ate it exactly. I always took overrated as most hated.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Okay, I.

Speaker 8 (30:07):
Never thought. I never thought overrated ment like the dude
couldn't play. I thought always took overrated as like you
think about it. Last year is Rudy Gobert yep. I
always took overrated as Okay, this is the guy for
whatever reason that his peers don't like him. Maybe they
don't like the front running, maybe they don't like all

(30:28):
of the the extracurricular stuff. I never I never took
that as well. You know what, man, people think Terry's
Halliburton can't play. Look, he was a part of the
Olympic team. We know that's not true. We know that's
not true. Always took that as most hated, as opposed
to overrated.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
I wonder how much of it has also to do
it overpaid where people go that guy that, But I
think that mattered because it is usually guys who end
up getting max deals who Then they go, he.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Got that money Tyre's Yliburton got all that many.

Speaker 4 (30:59):
And I think that pairs with it as well, where
they're mad that like that guy got that money, and
I think that plays a role in it real quick.
So going back to this this thunder and now we
have the Tiberwolves, two stars, SGA and Edwards.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
Who are you looking at? Who is it kind of
matter the most too in this series?

Speaker 8 (31:20):
For me, I don't think it has anything to do
with the stars. I think it's you know, we always
talk about thousand fights, and for me, I'm picking Oklahoma
City and the reason I'm picking Oklahoma City because Oka
See will turn you over and Minnesota will turn it over.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
That's true.

Speaker 8 (31:36):
I am more concerned with Minnesota's offensive discipline versus ok
See's point of attack defense. One thing Minnesota has struggled
with for as long as I can remember is taking
care of that basketball. You know what OKC does, They
seats off turnovers. No team better in the league at

(31:56):
turning you over and then converting turnovers. So again OKAC
will turn you over, in Minnesota will turn it over.
I don't think it's about stars. SDA is going to
show up Anthony Edwards is going to show up. They're
going to be the stars that they are. I just
struggle sometimes trusting Minnesota's offensive discipline.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
Yeah, I mean they have those four or five six
minute stretches where they keep turning the ball of You're like,
what's going on, man, like control the rock and they
don't do that all right, So then you have OKAC,
did you pick the East?

Speaker 2 (32:26):
Did you actually give us coming out there?

Speaker 8 (32:29):
I actually picked Bingas. I would love to see how
this series is going to be officiated first, but I
picked the I picked the Knicks. So I picked the
Knicks because I think that Jalen Brunton is going to
be the best player in the series.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Who's the league one? Real quick?

Speaker 4 (32:44):
If the league had their Knicks, they want the Knicks,
they want the TV the biggest TV mark.

Speaker 8 (32:49):
I think the league will want the Knicks and the
and the Timberwolves, Julius Random and Deepensonzo and you know,
going back to Madison Square Garden, Anthony Edwards and Madison
Square Garden, like, yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
One hundred percent. If you if you were in the
league office and you got to make it your way.
But might okay, C might have something to say about
they might, but I was talking about it, yeah, talk
about that earlier. Its like who is the league one
who they love? Kind of licking their chops for all right,
eight even minutes to the championship since ninety nine, no, no, no, yeah,
ninety nine ever.

Speaker 4 (33:18):
Won since Moby Dick was a guppy. So you know
that's a long time. A D appreciate always.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
Did you hear that?

Speaker 2 (33:25):
Laugh?

Speaker 4 (33:25):
Rob g thank you, thank you, thank you. You could
use that on NBA radio tomorrow. I'm so mad at
a D right now for laughing. Thank you, so mad
at a D right now. All that'd be a good one. Though,
who you got, I don't know. You don't have to
do it, yeah, but like we'll be we all. I
think we agree on that though, that the league would
want that. And Edwards in New.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
York, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
I'm not convinced that. I mean, it looks like that
and like it should. No, I mean, I'm talking about
one just that they could draw it up. But the
pacer is gonna have something to say for sure. Like
I said, they won last year Game seven that matters
was great.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
I've been playing well man, all right, I gotta ask
you about this speaking of New York. Where is the
line drawn with exciting, fun, crazy fan base and being
violent as It's the I Couple Rob Kelvin on the
Magic City Monday, Fox Sports Radio.

A couple, Rob Parker Kelvin Washington, Magic City Monday. Ready
for a new job? Let Express Employment Professionals help. While
Express helps people in all industries fine work. Our sweet
spot is logistic roles and Express never charge the job
seekers defeat. So go to Expresspros dot Com today, Robbie,
I want to spend a few minutes. Man, Like, dude,

(34:52):
you're from New York and we know the Knicks happened
won since seventy three, and we know they haven't been
in the final since ninety nine and so on and
so forth. They've that not been a great team. And
I know they have a rabbit fan base, but you
saw what they did over the weekend. Man's specifically to
that Indiana Pacer fan who happened to be at the
game with a jersey on Tyre's Halliburton and then he's

(35:16):
walking around after the game, and it wasn't six dudes, Rob,
it wasn't eight dudes, it wasn't twenty. It was like
two hundred running around behind him talking smack, pushing them.
And then they start tuning them up with a big
two couple of bags of trash, like what do they know?

Speaker 2 (35:36):
It was a semifinal, the conference semifinals.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
It was just it was ridiculous, trouble man, even though
your team hasn't been good, ir relevant for a long time,
there's no reason to do that. And those are just
a handful of knuckleheads that are ridiculous. And mob mentality
is what happened. What happens, This is what they mob
mentality when people feel they feel bold and bolden and

(36:05):
won't get in trouble. All right, Dave, there's so many people.
They're not gonna pick me out of the crowd and
I just did something. They will pick somebody else. Exactly.
They can't get everybody. There's no wady going to stop
all of us, so I'll be able to get out.
And then of course the ones who get caught, you know,
are crimelip. Yeah, exactly, we're having fun or whatever. So yeah,

(36:28):
that that kind of stuff is ridiculous. I did see
where Halliburton said he's gonna invite it to a game.
It's a game for Eastern Conference final. I don't know
where Halliburton seats are. I don't know if his wheelchair
will fit in there.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (36:43):
Be there or no, dude, I'll tell you what, man,
this is. See the discuss on Rob's face, see it
every day. Now, let me add to this, how wrong
had or wig Man? You're everybody the break National live

(37:03):
right here, already about to come over here, Rob g
already had enough of you, and Mary with her Davy
Crockett hat On is about to come get at you.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
You don't want this, you don't want this one. Keep
it cool, you stay on your side. I'll stay over here.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
My thing is robbing. I mean it's seriously, I'm not
even trying to be funny. What if dude felt well,
first of all, he had to have felt threatened, and
what if he did like he like he carries the
guy who carries a knight because I walk around the
street to New York, and like, what if he did
something to somebody? You know what I mean, dude, he
literally had like easily one hundred maybe two hundred people
following him. It could have been if he's freaking out.

(37:38):
I don't know how gonna go.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
I've seen uh and our bass Scott Shapiro. I think
they went to a Did they go to the Eagles game?
He's a Minnesota Vikings fan.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, am I right?

Speaker 1 (37:51):
And they got roughed up like like they were being
like what our boss did. Yeah he went to am
I right, yep. And they don't want you when you
go to Philadelphia better.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
Not where like they we saw the Knicks. What happened
with the Knicks last year, like.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Philadelphia is day will not like And I'm not trying
to give them credit or like it's not right that
you should be able to but I know certain places, right,
Rob g Right, you gotta be smart, you gotta be smart.

Speaker 4 (38:18):
Giants Dodgers was rough on like that for years. I
went to a I was in this is the old
candlestick A long time ago.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
I went to a Dodge Giants game and somebody made
a good play or whatever, and maybe I just like
commented I was just sitting there, right, I wouldn't I'm
a reporter, but I was just having a night out
and I was like, man, that was a hell of
a wow. I want to play. And this Giants fan,
this woman, middle aged woman, is like, who are you
rooting for? Like angry, and I was like, said for

(38:46):
the nice player. I said, these aren't my teams. I'm
she was She's literally angry, Like are you a Dodger
fan sitting here at Candlestick Park?

Speaker 2 (38:55):
No, it's crazy? How serious, guy? I remember that somebody
got hurt? Oh yeah, really hurt. That was awful.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
I'm always I'm always blown away and how serious fans? Dude,
enjoy you spent your money root for your team. It's
the city in which you grew up for from maybe
and you're from there. But I'm always blown away with
like they want to literally criminally like fight, somebody, beat
somebody up, jump somebody.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
I was at a baseball playoff.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
Game and it was a guy wearing an Islanders jersey
and three guys wearing Rangers jerseys at a baseball.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
Player right did they get confused?

Speaker 1 (39:29):
And the guy went to Islander jersey made the mistake
of saying that the Rangers suck and do you know
he got you know he did.

Speaker 4 (39:37):
And I'm always blowing like, why would you say that?
It's three guys from Ranger Jersey? And but ain't that
crazy that he can't say that without getting beat up?
He should not cussed out. And I'm not listen. I'm
saying be wise and don't do dumb stuff. And you know,
so Rob G just said you got to understand the circumstance.
I'm saying that crazy that he came hey such as
up without getting molly wapped and getting jumped up.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
That part is crazy as well.

Speaker 4 (40:01):
Also, with a particular NFL team, the way they've been
handling stuff, I think that's crazy too,
