all right, NFL, more stuff to talk about. And Tyreek

(02:59):
killed my Dolphins obviously the Jets beat them, which I
think I know.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
I did pick the Jets. Did you? Did you pick
the yest?

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Sorry?

Speaker 4 (03:06):
Yes, I'm just laughing right now. Okay, we both picked
the Jets. He did pick the Jets. We did.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
But we have sound from Tyreek Hill, who apparently doesn't
despite being paid very nicely by Miami, is not happening.

Speaker 6 (03:22):
Do you know how much he's getting paid? Not that
the second year they picked option, they picked up fifty million.
Let's see that, sound man.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
One guy is happily divorced, one guy is happily married.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
As I'm opening the door like I'm out, bro, you know.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
So it was great play, but you know I at
the end.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Of the day, Bro, I got to do what's best
for my career, and you know, because I'm too much
of a competitor to be you know, just mean there.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Was that Tyreek or is that me? I'm there? All right,
I'm telling you all, come on, Roger's supposed to be
the producer.

Speaker 6 (04:01):
Get us on the the biggest adult right now and
be like a professional. I'm trying to get out Steve
the saga on right now because it's taking everything I have.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Right now, Steve's laughing, what are you talking about?

Speaker 6 (04:13):
We just really want to drive listenership to the YouTube
channel so we can do it seven times a segment.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
You know, we might as well.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Aldjah is happy about it. He wants more viewers, even
though let me see.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
So don't say it. Don't say it.

Speaker 6 (04:26):
Don't say even though I know where you're going, and
you might be right actually, but you ain't got to
say it, you know, all right, We're just people enjoy
our show will say that, and we say thank you
so much to that. All right, we appreciate it, I
think for catching me. Listen, man, you're trying to get
you these six years herd many?

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Where are we at?

Speaker 8 (04:45):
Five?

Speaker 4 (04:45):
See how many more years you got?

Speaker 7 (04:47):
You know?

Speaker 5 (04:48):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (04:49):
Challenge rob back that NBC challenge right there. It is
a challenge. Keep you going. Oh, Matt, I'm so disappointed
in Tyree. I shouldn't be. I shouldn't be because I should.
This is kind of par for the course. First, you
want to get out of Kansas City, which was a
gravy situation, right you guys are going to the super Bowl.
I don't blame it, but I was just about to say,

(05:11):
but I get it. You feel like you're worth more.
Somebody wants to win a super Bowl, that you're you're
the hottest you can be.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
But I'm good, Like that's like you know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (05:18):
Yeah, Like I do get that, but I also feel
like you have a chance to be a part of
something historic, right, which literally now if they win three
this year, three in a row. But like you could
have been a main cog in that, but you chose
to get paid that.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Yeah, But the only problem is that goes to Patrick
Mahomes's record, not to the other players.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
That's why only.

Speaker 6 (05:37):
But it's not thinking like Jerry Rice were thinking him
as a big time super Bowl champ.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Like, I get your point. The quarterback it's always a
quarterback driven lee.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
So Montana won two with Jerry Rice and two without
Jerry Rice, and Jerry got another one with Steve Young.
But I don't think that that is like, oh how
many rings of Jerry as a quarterback thing? And I'm
just saying, if you go there and you want to
be and Patrick Mahomes is making fifty and everybody. Then
let me switch it, let me talk. I'm mad at him, yeah,
for that, but the Dolphins paid him. I'm mad that dude.

(06:06):
What are you doing?

Speaker 6 (06:08):
You just let me talk in, let me talk in
wide receiver talk for you. Then you're you may We
always make this a quarterback driven league. So you're right,
Joe Montana and Tom Brady, they all get the credit
for the wins.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
I'll give you that, But.

Speaker 6 (06:20):
You know what, receivers like getting the ball, and they
like attention, and you for sure would have gotten both
of those with the with the Chiefs, right, you get
all the attention because you're the hotest team. Everybody's watching
what they love or hate you. You're all you're getting.
Steven Sager was just talking earlier. You set records for
the season.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Marthin Johnson got in the Hall of Fame with no
playoff wins. Most of his points came when the lines
were down by fifteen or twenty.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
I'm just I know what.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
I'm saying, But we didn't talk like when you're hot.
We're talking about you. You're getting the ball. We have
a system. And I'm disappointed to him because then you
go to you go to Miami.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
Hey, you wanted the bag, You got the bag.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
Tua. They're asked about him, what's the comparison between he
and Patrick Mahomes. You said he's more accurate. I love
playing with Tua. That's my guy, and you have two
of your best seasons ever with tu him. Now the
problem is to has some health issues, toa continuously gets
hurt and now all of a sudden you don't get
the ball quite as much.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
You're under thousand yards this year? What do they ask
him earlier?

Speaker 8 (07:16):
Man?

Speaker 4 (07:16):
I want to be here for you know, I got
my family here. This is where I want to be.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
And now when you get the first sign of some adversity,
you want to dip out.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Throughout the season.

Speaker 6 (07:25):
What was he doing sending Spongebobby moojis looking backwards like
I want to be with you, sending heart emojis to
Patrick Mahomes. I don't like that, Rod, because I don't
like when if you sign on with me, look you
and all right, this is a new show. There's gonna
be days where we don't have our best show. But
I'm not looking to bail out. I'm looking at yo,
how can we get better? How can we prove let's
put our feet in the boots and let's get better.

(07:47):
I'm not trying to bail out just because it got
a little tough and I don't like that. In the
last point, then your most recent post that you put
on social media is your face photoshopped on Antonio Brown
when he exit that you know the whole time he
left it and left out. Well, that's what you're gonna do.
When Antonio Brown, who we all said it was a quitter,

(08:09):
who we are literally to the point where we were
concerned about his mental health because he quit during the
quit during the game, took his pads off, going crazy
with the crowd. We ain't seen him since. And that's
the guy you put as your profile pick like, I
mean picture on social I want to be like that.
Well that has paused her concern to me. If I'm
another team, like is this the guy? This the guy
you want? I don't want you to be like that.

(08:30):
So yeah, I was disappointed to him. And if I'm
another team, I say, look, man, I can win without
a diva receiver. We've seen it. Patrick Mahomes has won
a couple of times. Guess what, Elijah, he ain't have
Tyreek Hill and he still won. So if I'm another team,
I think you're talented, but I don't like your attitude,
your makeup, and we can see that teams can win
without a guy like you.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
So to me, he's going about it all wrong.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
I just this is where you are and until some
of the he just be calling him like yo, man, No,
they can't.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
They can't control. That's the issue.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Is that some of these guys have gotten so much
garret they think they can just say and do whatever
they want. This is not before and I'm not begrudging
against them. Somebody is paying you. It's just like the
disrespect to the fans when guys take nights off, like seriously,
like for you to show up not be hurt. People
have paid three and four hundred dollars tickets and you

(09:24):
sit there. You to take a night off, dude, I
don't respect that. I'm sorry. We don't come in here
and put our foot feet up and go like, well
we'll just harm for check clear hours or whatever. We're like,
we don't have to do the show. Like people are.
People are invested, and it's not fair if you're injured
and I bought a ticket, I understand that injuries happen.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
It's a shame, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
I really it happens, right, But to just take the
night off if you give me a chance. I bet
if you gave fans a chance to get their money back,
people would walk We go back to the box office,
get their money and walk out.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
They will if.

Speaker 6 (10:00):
I'm coming to see And then and then last little
Broadway show and the actor was like, hey, he's not acting.
Here's here he or she is going to be here tonight.
I'll come back next to next weeket I went to
Radio City Music Call. Me and my buddy Ed Jenesie.
We had double days. It was a Friday night, you
know what I mean. And we were like, we're gonna
have a great night. Aretha Franklin was performing at Radio

(10:22):
City Music Call.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
We had bought the tickets.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
In advance and all this, and we go there and
you know, oh, you know what, she's sick.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
I was like, oh my god, she's sick.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
She came out, she sang the first song, and then
they had Peebo Bryce and sing the rest night and
Queen ran. So I remember when we walked out with
our dates, my friend and I we went to high
school to get ed. We walked out with our hands
up hi and people are looking at us.

Speaker 4 (10:53):
We're like, we got Rob. We got Rob. And the
girls were with us, they were like, what are you doing?

Speaker 2 (11:00):
We got wronged.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
We didn't come here to see Peeble price.

Speaker 6 (11:04):
It Peobo somewhere right now listening to our show, catching
it straight. You know, he might be a fan of
some big spot. He might be a Lions fan, and
he's like, Oh, I know they're gonna talk about.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
This today, but.

Speaker 6 (11:15):
Put that I had a feeling like that completely not
the same thing. But my wife loves Maxwell to the
point of it's almost like, hey, hey, hey, hey, you
like him a little too much, lady. But with See
Maxwell and the end of the show, he didn't sing
his you know, his biggest song, and everybody was like, oh,
he's gonna do the whole act like I left and
come back out thing. He didn't come out and oh wow,

(11:35):
everybody stuck around. It was the number one takeaway from
the show. It was it was a great fun show,
but the number one takeaway was how he not gonna
do it the literal best song like his song.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
And we did feel like we got stuck up a
little bit anybody.

Speaker 6 (11:47):
Yeah, I just don't like last point with with with
Tyreek Hill, and it goes to what you were just
saying about the you know the audience. Pay money, dude,
you literally got what you wanted. You wanted to go
to Miami. You're from the area. Yeah, I paid well,
you got paid a bunch of money. You've had your
two best seasons, believe it or not with TUA. And
it's a little tough right now. And maybe you don't

(12:07):
like the coaching staff and do it, but like man up,
push through it and now throughout the season both robs.
This wasn't he was doing this now right after the
season was toughsy he was starting all season. Hardy moojis
SpongeBob looking back, that's weird stuff. And if I'm another organization,
I don't have time to put it with that. My

(12:28):
jobs on the line as a coach, as a general manager.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
A lot of people jobs. I don't have time to think.

Speaker 6 (12:33):
If we going a three game stretch where you only
got like eight targets, are you gonna start sending emoji's
two back to Patrick Mahomes again. And about Patrick Mahomes,
Andy Reid, I don't want you back, especially with this
type of thing, because now it makes me think, oh,
so if you come in and rashiding Rice gets healthy
or Worthy keeps getting the ball more, are you you
know Travis Kelsey has a resurgence or something?

Speaker 4 (12:54):
Are you gonna make a stink? I don't want. We
don't do.

Speaker 6 (12:57):
We were sixteen and one this season, fifteen into what
fifteen and two now? But you get what I mean.
We were on our way to balling maybe a third
Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
We don't need that, all right, eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox eight seven, seven nine nine six sixty
three sixty nine and uh after one went down in
Kansas City and Miami, do you still want your team
to get in business with Tyreek Hill?

Speaker 4 (13:20):
That that that he would be attracted to your team.
We'll continue that conversation next with you.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
It is the odd couple on a Magic City Monday,
Rob Parker, Why why'd you get me started with that?

Speaker 4 (13:32):
Again? Rob Parker? Kelby Washington right here? I was early,
Rob my bad.

Speaker 6 (13:38):
I thought it was the five o'clock hour, my bad
eight o'clock hour for all our East Coast people.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
On Fox Sports Radio on this Magic City Monday, we
went a little long too. That's what it was. And

Speaker 4 (14:54):
What's up, Jake going on?

Speaker 8 (14:56):
Rod kill Man, thanks for taking a call.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
Yes, sound good brother, Happy New.

Speaker 8 (14:59):
Year oue y'all man. First of all, you know with
the tiree thing and other players like uh, your boy
Adams at Green Baby or if you didn't take it
really at Tennessee, you can chall when they chasing a bag,
y'all know, no quarterback one day in the first place,
you know, you leave them quarterbacks, they're gonna get you
the ball, but they choose to do other things. And

(15:20):
for real, for real, I mean that's all they're doing.
The chasing the bag.

Speaker 6 (15:23):
Man, they didn't I don't know if it's the back
because he's got the bag.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
This upcoming gear wouldn't pay him. And that's why he
went to the Dolphins.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
And they gave him the bag so they restructure his deal.

Speaker 8 (15:34):
He he did that because no state taxi Florida. He
might get a little.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
Extra li No, I was I was more than that.
It was more than that.

Speaker 8 (15:42):
Yeah, but my home. But what I'm saying in mahomere
gonna make sure you get the ball, just like Aaron
Rodgers is gonna make sure Adams get the ball, and
so on and so on. That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
I'm not I'm bad.

Speaker 8 (15:54):
Lying because he's not getting the ball. I mean, you
went there, you know, with no quarterback there.

Speaker 6 (15:58):
Thank you for the call. That's why I'm saying. I
think it's more relevant and I'm getting the ball. I'm
getting to shine. We win, Like I think you you know,
all I think you take for granted, all that you
had with the Chiefs. It's like if you left the
Warriors when they ran their prime. Now you're out here playing,
you know, for some other team. It's like, man, yeah,
I'm doing I think.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
I think when a wide receiver, you gotta get paid,
Like like when that moment comes and the Chiefs weren't
gonna pay him, and he's never was gonna be that guy.
They had three four guys before him and were gonna
get paid. You got to take a chance when you're there,
before you get hurt, before you're not putting up the
same numbers.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
But then you do.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
I agree, you got the money. I'm just saying I'm
not mad at him for leaving when he did. He
won a Super Bowl. Dude, I'm not gonna get extra
credit for another one. It doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
I want.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
I think most people are we get another car.

Speaker 6 (16:50):
Mat about the Jerry case, it's that you're whining now
that you got what you want.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
Jerry and Seattle. You're on the couple of Fox Sports raded.
What's up, Jerry? Not much?

Speaker 9 (16:58):
Guys too.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
We appreciate you.

Speaker 9 (17:03):
Rob how's the North been treating you?

Speaker 7 (17:05):
Bro Man?

Speaker 4 (17:05):
Can you believe this? Rob G? Will attest to it?

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Today?

Speaker 4 (17:08):
Is what day? January sixth? Rob G? What if I
bought this year? Nothing? This shrimp count.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
I'm actually, Jerry, I'm on a three hundred and sixty
five days without buying anything this year?

Speaker 4 (17:23):
We tell you something.

Speaker 6 (17:24):
I'm that serious, Jerry.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Can you believe it? Wait?

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Jerry?

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Hold on?

Speaker 6 (17:31):
I know Jerry, Jerry. I ain't never wonder Jerry, Jerry.
I have to cut you off for a second. Jerry,
When did this happened that you didn't tell me?

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Number one? Number two? Am I really supposed to believe this?

Speaker 3 (17:41):
Rob I told rob G the other day, I was like,
I was saying, how I think I was getting bored
so I would just go to the store or whatever,
and I just want to cut that out this.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
Year, Rob g what's her name? No?

Speaker 6 (17:53):
No, what's her name? Go ahead, Jerry, I'm going to
name for us. I'm second city. Got no.

Speaker 9 (18:03):
I was we talked earlier this year when you were
like harping on Pat Mahomes about you know, he needs,
you know, man up, and the Chiefs got to go
get him a big receiver and he's got to take
charge of that.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
You know.

Speaker 9 (18:14):
He got Hopkins, which I thought was a good fit
for their culture. But I guess I'm just curious about
looking how things have shook out, Like, what do you
think do you think he take Tyreek back with all
the potentially that could I mean.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
They've taken everybody back because they got rid of everybody, right,
A couple of guys, Yeah yeah, but Hunt came back.
And who's the other guy who came back? Juju and Juju?

Speaker 4 (18:39):
Right, like they both.

Speaker 6 (18:41):
The difference is different. That's what I was about to say, Jerry.
You know it's that it's that bringing him back comes
a lot anversation. So what if we go three games
where hey, Hopkins just open or we're gonna run the
ball thirty five times?

Speaker 4 (18:56):
They appreciate Jerry, do you start.

Speaker 6 (18:58):
Complaining now and start sitting off hard to somebody else
with a tool goes to another team.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Do you want to get back with Tua?

Speaker 6 (19:04):
And you don't want that reputation and that because at
some point I got to call a spade a spade, right,
you just are what you are and at a certain
point you're starting to show me this is who you are,
so that as an organization, mind you, who has won
without you? It becomes two super Bowls? By the way,
without you, it starts to become do I don't need

(19:25):
the headache. We've won and it's not worth the headache.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
All right, Dre in Massachusetts, you're on the couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
What's up? And Andre?

Speaker 5 (19:32):
How you doing? Thanks for taking the call. Happy Monday. Absolutely,
I'm going big game hunting and I want to bring
Tyreek Hill into my organization to compete for championship. It's
a one year promposition. Tom Brady, general manager for the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, laid out the group blueprint with Ab
when he brought him in catch the Lightning in a bottle?

(19:53):
Who was out there touching touchdown passes in the Super
Bowl that first year. Antonio Brown also bronchouse, different type
of mental make up. But that's the point. It's a
one year thing for the championship and you roll the dice,
and then after that, you know what's gonna happen. He'll
get bored, you know, and he's gonna want to do
his own thing individually. But if I'm a franchise, I

(20:14):
either see the Buffalo Bills or even a short lion.
You know.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
No, no, they wouldn't take him.

Speaker 5 (20:21):
The year and it's high rit low reward because you
know it's just for that to get the championship and
then after that, you know, part ways and and move along.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
I think I get your point, thank you. The Rams
would do that Rock.

Speaker 6 (20:34):
I can see when they went and got Obj and
I can see the Rams doing that, going off to
just get him for a year. Some Sean McVay like,
I can, I can use him and in this scheme,
this offense and let them go.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
But I'm talking a team building with him now. I
ain't having let me.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
Let me give us uh Rob g Alex Calvin So
my former radio partner from Detroit, Mark Wilson The Man,
when I had that show Parker the Man, he just
texted me said, I turned on the show at the
top of the five o'clock hour, wild West, He's in Vegas.
That was hilarious. Alex hitting the opened bunch of times.

(21:09):
Kelvin very funny. Reminded me of the Ernie Harwell birthday
thing that we did on the show.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
Was Ernie Harwo's birthday. We had a clip shout to
Ernie harwro recipe.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
That's right, Tom Gage, a Hall of Fame baseball wrider,
saying that he had to pull over. He was laughing
so hard. You kept telling me, you kept telling me,
what what are you doing? Terrific?

Speaker 4 (21:27):
Yeah, thank you, that's nice.

Speaker 7 (21:29):
See.

Speaker 6 (21:29):
Shout out to him. Listen, man, Mat look Mark, we
cooking now, right. Shout out to Mark. Happen to year
to you brother. We cooking out here. We know what
we doing, cooking with Greeks too. Shout out to him though.
Appreciate that.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
All right.

Speaker 6 (21:40):
Rob Woodson getting ready to join us, talk some football.
What we saw of the weekend, what we can expect
coming up wild Card weekend.

Speaker 6 (21:58):
All right, he is Steve Seger, Thank you so much.
A whole lot of football stuff that Steve was just
telling you. That's why we got our man the Man,
Rod Woodson Hall of Famer dB Fox Sports Radio NFL
analyst Rob Woodson twenty six on Twitter. I was waiting.
I was like, uh, hit me with it. Oh Deb,
we go Rod, Rod, Rod, what's up?

Speaker 4 (22:19):
Rod? How are you?

Speaker 7 (22:22):
I'm doing good? But you know it's not called Twitter
anymore race X.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:26):
Well I had my reason and ever since it became X,
it ain't been the same. You know that it ain't
the same. My goodness, I go on there. I'm scared
to open up my app like, oh boy, I appreciate
you joining the show as always.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
Man.

Speaker 6 (22:41):
Rob and I were talking earlier, just worried that you're
going to open up a triple axis.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
That is that it.

Speaker 6 (22:46):
I'm just saying. First of all, he took me about
eight seconds to get there.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
Come on, man, it's sorry about that. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:50):
Hey, we were talking early. Started the show with of
course Vikings Lions. Rob put a lot of the onus
on Sam Darnold, kind of choking.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
In the red zone four times, he missed open receivers.
I don't think he played well. The Lions to me,
played better in the second half. What did you see?

Speaker 7 (23:09):
Yeah, I mean he was he had happy feet. He
got a little nervous because they weren't bringing a lot
of pressure. Aaron Lynn was, you know, calling pressure up.
And you know, if you're a defense coordinator and you
see the quarterback, you know, having happy seat and he's
being very nervous around color, right, the opposing color, you
keep bringing pressure. And that's what he did, and they

(23:30):
just outplayed him in the second half. They had multiple
opportunities to get on the board and kind of take
control of the game so not to get led to
get out out of control. But they didn't do that,
and so they ended up they got to play this week.
They got to play the Rams. And listen, the Rams
played them well, right, so that's gonna be a good game.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Hey, here's the thing, Rod, when do you talk about
Sam Darnell and that like these moments like this, and
that was like a playoff game because for the number
one seed in NFC, you start looking at it. If
he has another clunker in the playoffs, it makes you
feel harder to come up with big money and big
contract for him. Don't don't. Aren't you a little afraid

(24:11):
if he doesn't play well in the big moments?

Speaker 7 (24:13):
Yeah, this is what I would say. I thought that
he's played well all year long. This is the best
season he's ever had in his career in the National
Football League. We all agree upon that. Uh, And I'm
not going to overly knee jerk to react to one game.

Speaker 8 (24:28):
Now.

Speaker 7 (24:28):
If he has the same game this coming up week,
and if he doesn't play well, which I think he's
going to play well because I think the Rams defense
is a little bit different than Detroit. If he doesn't,
then yet, I think he got to think about it.
You got to think about, like where are we going?
It's this guy that that guy. I mean, that's one
thing we talk about all year long, is like is

(24:48):
it lightning in the bottle for Sam Donald or is
he projecting up right? So that's that's the question that
every front office personnel who was thinking about if he
doesn't sign with Minnisolo Vikings, who needs a quarterback? You
got to think about is that gonna be Are we
getting the old sand Dunner? Are we getting the guy
that started this year, and he is starting to project

(25:11):
the way everybody thought he was going to be when
he first came out.

Speaker 6 (25:13):
Everybody's gonna be watching what they do between him JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Do they trade.

Speaker 6 (25:17):
It's gonna be interesting offseason, however it ends for them.
I go back to the lines and I'm looking at
that team and say, what do they do as far
as when you how do you beat them? If you're
another team, how do you go about beating them? And
how great were the two coordinators that I think are
going to be gone after the season now, between Aaron
Glenn and of course Ben Johnson.

Speaker 7 (25:36):
Yeah, yeah, you know I thought Aaron Aaron Glenn plays,
he doesn't do a lot right a lot of men
and brings pressure and their players outplayed their opponents that
those one on one matchups on a consistent basis throughout
the year they've been winning. And you know Ben, Ben

(25:56):
Johnson and me is that's kind of the same thing
with you know, he's he helps he helps Jared Golf
find his rhythm because he's a rhythm quarterback and he's
a play action pass quarterback and he loves throwing the
ball in the middle of the field, right. So every
time you see the back of the number of Jared Golf,
he's throwing the ball normally deep middle and that's what

(26:19):
he likes, and he's been very consistent to the last
two years doing that. I know when the Ravens played
them last year, they just they dropped their backers deeper
in the middle of the field, kind of took that
first rd away and made him hold onto the ball
and then trusted him on top of that, and then
you kind of saw the old Jared Golf come out
a little bit. But what they what both these coordinators

(26:42):
have done so far this year and what they've done
last several years, Yet they're not going to be there.
I'll be surprised if either one of them comes back.
They have done a tremendous job. You know, Dan Campbell
has done a tremendous job with those guys. He has
brought that tough grit mentality. He kind of reminds me
of an new age Bill Kawer, Hm.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
Okay, actually that makes a lot of sense.

Speaker 6 (27:04):
We're talking to Rod Woodson, Hall of Fame, dB, Fox
Sports Radio NFL analysts on the odd couple, Rod Parker,
Kevin Washington.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
I know you you know, you do the Ravens games
and you see Lamar every week, or I think he's
the m v P, and you know, these people trying
to figure out, uh, you know this other the voters
are fatigued and and this, and uh and and uh that's.

Speaker 7 (27:30):
That's unfair too, Lamar.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
I agree, I just I think it's a cop out.
I think it's ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
I don't know how you can look at what Lamar
did this year and not every guy who's done anything
close to what he's done is won the m v P.
How in the world are you not going to give
him an m v P.

Speaker 7 (27:47):
The only thing I would have said, if it would
have happened, if Cincinnati no Takuan, if you would have
got passed the CD but Burl, if Burl team would
have got a five hundred, which they did and got
it to the postseason. Normally most MVPs were two games
over five hundred, right, so they were least they had

(28:09):
that winning record, so they had to be They had
to get another couple wins because he had a great
year as a quarterback, like those standards that you kind
of put at quarterbacks, he had Lamars had and you know,
since Cincinnati unfortunately didn't get into the postseason, Joe Burrows

(28:29):
out of the race. Lamar Jackson is And you can't
tell me Josh Allen since he didn't play in the
last game, he's the MVP. Lamar Jackson played in every
single game. He's played lights out football. He's played better
this year than he did in twenty nineteen and last year.
And if he doesn't win, it's a shame. And then
the voters, they got to reevaluate who votes, why they vote,

(28:53):
what are they looking at? Quit being impartial? All those
teams would have to come into play, because it's to
me not to say that Lamar Jackson is by far
the league MVP. If they want to give off as
a player to somebody else, Okay, I got it, because
they normally don't win both, which.

Speaker 6 (29:11):
Is weird, by the way, why does that have to be?
Like why why can't somebody win both? If you were
just that like Lamar Jackson very likely could be the
MVP and the offensive player. That's not pretty one touchdowns
with you. So let me let me state my case.
My case has been that I've said it the entire season.
Lamar Jackson's best player in NFL saying it hands down.
But again I look at other sports, and yes, Brett

(29:33):
Favre won three in a row. But it's the point
of like where I can see people want their new hope,
their new guy, Josh alleners and like Lebron James went
twenty some years only winning four, Jordan only won five.
Like it happens in sports where we know somebody's best player,
but people just want to pick somebody else.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
But but the only issue I have is that if
you look at the stats thing, everybody who's.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
Put up those, they're going to use that against him
on the MVP though they meant stats last year and
they're gonna go stat.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
But all seven guys, all seven guys have won or finished,
it's gonna be a lot closer than we we are.

Speaker 7 (30:08):
All three in agree with Lamar Jackson is by far
the league MVP. Now if he wins it, that's a
different story because the voters vote on different criteria. I
don't know what they vote on. It's like even nowadays
about you know, the Hall of Famers who go in.
There's a different criteria today than it was back in
the day. So I don't know why they award to

(30:29):
go the way they do anymore. But if Lamar Jackson
doesn't win it, and I know he doesn't really care
about it because he wants to win that Super Bowl, right,
it'd be a traviser.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
But you know what, Rod, and we're in a different
ear or two. Like everybody's having their number retired. They're
putting statues out in front of every arena, Like Rod,
they're retiring people's numbers who never won a championship.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
Like seriously, and.

Speaker 6 (30:56):
I'm not trying to be mean, Rod, don't signing up
our next Okay, we got that coming up.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
But does that make sense to you? Seriously?

Speaker 7 (31:03):
It doesn't. It doesn't. But we're in an era where
participation truck, right, Rot.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
I'm not gonna let him do that.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Rod.

Speaker 6 (31:13):
No, he did not give you context to the conference
he did. We'll talk about Rod. I know you were busy, man,
but used to listen to your next right on the money?
Have you no context? He's making like it was a
random person.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
We'll talk Rod.

Speaker 6 (31:26):
We're gonna let you go so I can get prepared
to argue with him in a little bit. Thank you man,
Happy New Year. We'll talk to you all right.

Speaker 7 (31:33):
Happy fellas.

Speaker 6 (31:35):
I appreciate Rod Woodson as always. Hey, uh, the Bengals
missed the playoffs. We gotta talk about that. You just
heard Rod Woodson talking about Joe Burrow Chase Daniels.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
Are they getting a little too much love? Will tell you.

Speaker 6 (31:47):

doing good and now we've been doing good. We got
the thumbs up from Elijah, so we're doing well with that.

(32:49):
We mentioned it earlier. We just had Rob Woodson on.
He was talking about the Bengals who did go out.
They did go out great, so the best way kind
of maybe some momentum for them.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
Next Joe Bowldon have a Joe. They went out great,
but he didn't have a great yet.

Speaker 6 (33:03):
An interception on only one TD I remember. But Joe
Burrow had a remarkable season. You got the triple crown
for Jamar Chase and mean T Higgins is about to
get the bag, whether it be there or someone else.
The offense has been spectacular. But the only issue I have,
Rob is that I do feel like Aaron Rodgers. You
know that's your guy for an example, Matthew Stafford for

(33:24):
an example. Andrew Luck to an extent, like guys have
gotten the blame or not enough love because they might
have been playing well, but the team wasn't having that
much success. Or they weren't playing very well, but we
all say yeah, yea yeah, but the team is at winning,
so it doesn't really count. I do kind of feel
like Joe Burrow has kind of gotten a scapegoat. And

(33:46):
he has played phenomenally. That's not even without it, that's
without a doubt. But my thing is people want to
give him so much credit where I think historically, what
did we talking about earlier? You said all the Super
Bowls go to who the quarterback? Right backs get out
of love Joe n ten as four, Patrick Mahomes and
then Tom Brady was seven.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
That's what we do. We kind of don't think about
every everybody.

Speaker 6 (34:06):
Else when things go wrong, the Jets of a bunch
of issues, but who's the main guy? We blame it
on Aaron Rodgers. And so that's just kind of the
par for the course with the position. And I feel
like Joe Burrow, not that I'm saying you need to
blame him for everything, but everyone's like, dude, stop starting
bad in the season.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
But no, I'll give you an example, Rob G.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
You remember this game too, when they played the Ravens
and Joe Burrow had to turnover the big turnover.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
Late in the game.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
That flipped that game and Lamar was able to capitalize
and they lost the game. Like you sit there and go, oh, well,
the defense gave up, but he had a huge turnover
in that game.

Speaker 6 (34:46):
Dude, There's a lot of things. So I look go
back to the Peyton Manning gears. Remember what do we
always say, man, if Peyton Manning just had a defense,
he would win.

Speaker 4 (34:54):
But his team was still.

Speaker 6 (34:56):
Twelve and five, and you know, well they were playing
sixty game, you know, twelve and four and eleven and
five or thirteen and three, and he was getting in
the postseason at least giving himself a shot. And I
just feel like with Joe Burrow, the team's always all
they're two and four, they're all one in four.

Speaker 4 (35:13):
You know, they'll bounce back, they'll get it back.

Speaker 6 (35:15):
And it's like, why does that king being the case
and why doesn't he get more blame for that? And again,
I'm not saying Joe listen, Joe Burrow and quarterback my
team anything. I'm not saying that, but I'm saying, all
of a sudden, his cry as if like, oh whoe
is Joe Burrow? I'm like, man, it's a bunch of
quarterbacks that have had some really good to great years
whose defense wasn't great and we either said man that, hey,

(35:35):
man up, figure it out next year coaching GM, or
we said, you know, or we wouldn't give that quarterback
that much praise. With Joe Burrow's kind of getting the
pass if you will. And again I'm not saying it's
his fault, but I'm like, he's also getting the he
should be the MVP a lot of people.

Speaker 4 (35:50):
I just saw John.

Speaker 6 (35:50):
Gruden saying that, and I'm kind of like, all right, y'all, Historically,
you've never done this before where you just give the
MVP to somebody who didn't have his team, didn't have
all of this great success. And again, then that makes
me want to say, all right, well, you can go
back in history and give it to a bunch of people.
You put up crazy numbers on teams that won lost
a lot. It just doesn't make it. Well, he had

(36:11):
it and he had an incredible individual year, but what
comes with the quarterback position. It's about it's about winning.
Answered all the praise and a lot of the blame.
That's just the position. He knows it too. I'm guarantee
if you's sitting here, he'd be like, it sucks, but
you're right.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
It's it's people can pick and choose things that they
want to determine. To say, Joe Burrow was not the
m v P. He had a tremendous season. And also
we talked about it. Here we go again, can we
talk about it. How many MVP voteses Matthew Stafford get
when he was with the Lions?

Speaker 4 (36:45):
None? Okay, but but what numbers were crazy?

Speaker 3 (36:48):
His numbers were crazy, and uh, it got Calvin Johnson
and in the Hall of Fame on the first try. Okay,
but he never got any considerate they didn't win.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
Because he's the quarterback. Is his win? Yeah? Come on?

Speaker 6 (37:06):
And that's kind of my point is that historically we
don't do this for quarterbacks who team are you know,
barely five He wasn't five hundred for most of the season,
So all it's like, why are we doing revision is
history where all of a sudden these guys are even
considered for MVP. That's just not how we've done it before.
And again, the talent was there, marchas incredible. If he

(37:26):
takes away votes from Josh Allen, I'm good with it.

Speaker 4 (37:29):
Then you're like Joe Burrow, Joe Burrow. So yeah, but
that's my point. He is listening. He is, He's really
freaking good.

Speaker 6 (37:37):
I mean, he has had an incredibly deserves the Pro Bowl,
and he deserves to get some you know, some conversations
out there. I'm not mad at that at all, but
I've started to feel like all this sorrow for Burrow
and I'm kind of like, like, all right, now, that's
just the name of the game. Your team's gotta win,
you know what I mean. And even in at times
you got Patrick Mahone's team did nothing but win and
still got criticism. Oh yeah, I'm sitting next to one

(37:57):
of y'all and you want to criticize. Got no m
t V, no m v P votes either. Fox Sports
