Speaker 2 (00:24):
Listen to this parties, you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
It is The Odd Couple. I'm Chris. He's Rob.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
We are live from the Tirerag dot com studios our
number two.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
On a trash talking Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
We had not mentioned that in our number one, but
at in about thirty five minutes or so, you will
be able to call in and trash.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Anyone or anything in the world of sports.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
You get thirty to forty seconds to do so, so
get your takes ready and you will be able to
trash anyone or anything in the world of sports for
about thirty to forty seconds.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Martin Wise, who are you trashing?
Speaker 4 (01:15):
I might have to trash the San Francisco forty nine
ers for letting this situation get to where it's at,
but I'm not sure yet. I'll make my final decision
in about thirty to forty minutes.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Because I think, I mean, you heard me, I don't think.
I think Brandon and I are you the best thing
he can do is play. Yeah, So if that's if
he's just gonna play, then you know, I think it's
gonna be fine. And you heard he from salam second that.
But also even you know, add a few more reasons
(01:47):
he needs to play, which I forgot to mention. But
I mean, if you sit out this whole year, you
lose that fourteen million dollars and you don't get any
closer to free agent.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
You're in the same exact position.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
I mean, so really, there's really no benefit to sitting
now unless you would get traded. But there's no guarantee
of that. And is that team gonna, you know, give
you them. I mean, if they trade for you, they would,
but I don't know how many teams are out there
willing to do that.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
No, And also it doesn't matter how many teams. It
could be thirty thirty teams willing to do it. If
San Francisco doesn't want to, they don't have to. They're
not in any position too. So he's pretty much upper
creek without a paddle.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Yeah, I mean, look, I get fourteen million isn't thirty million,
but it's still.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Fourteen million, right, It's fourteen more than none. Right, And
he made a great point.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
I mean, just look at your quarterback and I get
that Brock Purdy can't even.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Sign a bigger contract right now.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
But still, I mean, it's just it is what it is, right,
this is the this is the contract you're under. The
best thing for you to do is ball out this
season and then you will get.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Paid, whether it's in San Francisco or elsewhere. Next year,
you will get paid.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
But anyway, let's go to There was a great ESPN
article that Jeremy Fowler did based on his interviews or
survey I guess of nearly eighty executives and coaches throughout
the NFL, and they ranked the top ten quarterbacks and
(03:30):
Josh Allen was ranked third. So it was Patrick Mahomes
number one, Joe Burrow to Josh Allen three, Lamar Jackson four,
Matthew Stafford five.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Who was six. I'm going off the top of my
haird CJ.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Stride was seven, Aaron Rodgers was eight, Jared Goff was nine,
and Justin Herbert was six, and then Dak Prescott was
ten and Brock Purdy was eleven.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Josh Allen. One of the executives said.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
That Josh Allen as great as he is, and he
said he very well, maybe a top what three, top
five quarterback. He's overrated, and I think the direct quote
was he's one of the most overrated players in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Are you with that?
Speaker 4 (04:25):
Yeah, I am, Actually I do think he's overrated, and
I also think he's properly ranked in this time.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
The third best quarterback in the league is overrated.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
I'd have Lamar ahead of him, but it's splitting hairs
between three and four.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
I think they're right there with each other.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
I think that Josh Allen all the talk that Lamar
Jackson gets of but his body, he's a running quarterback.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
He's gonna break down.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
None of that ever gets mentioned about Josh Allen and
his athletic ability, which is one of the things that
I think elevates his game to a higher level.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
But he just makes too many mistakes.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
He makes a lot of turnovers for a guy to
be considered to me, for a guy to be in
the same breath for a lot of folks, now I know,
necessarily are your TV show he's not, But for a
lot of folks, people will have Josh Allen right there,
up there with Patrick Mahomes, and I.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Think, well, to that point, Martin quickly, I don't know
what it was seventy five, seventy six people interviewed.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
It was close to eighty nearly eighty is what the
article said.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
But Mahomes got every single vote but one for a
best quarterback in the league, and that one went.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
To Josh Allen.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
So somebody out there that was in the survey said
Josh Allen was better than Patrick Mahoe.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
And just even when the guys will listen off quarterbacks,
so Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen. When you have these types
of guys, I think that the gap between one and
everybody else is about the size of the Grand freaking Canyon. Okay,
Like the gap between Patrick Mahomes and all the rest
of the quarterbacks in the NFL is gargantuan.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
So that's how Josh.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
Allen can both be the third best quarterback in football,
fourth best quarterback in football, and an also be overrated
because people have him in the same words in the
same conversation as Patrick Mahomes, which to me is ludicrous,
especially when you consider I know Burrow was hurt last year,
but Joe Burrow's the only guy that has stood totally
told Mahomes and came away with a little bit of silverware.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Well, I do agree that.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
For though, if anyone that thinks Josh Allen is better than,
or equal to, or close to Patrick Mahomes is overrating him,
I would.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Agree with you on that. Like Patrick Mahomes, this is Jordan.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
And you know this, Martin I said eight years ago
after his first season in it, you know, as a
starter in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
The second year overall, this dude's jordan esque. And the
gap between Michael Jordan and whoever was second best after
you know, Matt chicken Bird were basically we're done. In
the nineties, who was it? Was it Elijah and was
it Shack?
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Was it Barkley, Drexler, Karl Malone, whoever it may have been.
The gap between Jordan and them was just insurmountable, right,
And that's how it is with Patrick. I don't know
how in the world anyone could deny that he's the
(07:29):
best quarterback on earth right now.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
It's undeniable. We have never seen a quarterback do what
he's doing. And I'm not saying he's the goat yet.
He's gotta be brave because of.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
All of his accomplishments. But this dude's on the goat trajectory. Sure,
he is starting off like we've never seen a quarterback
do what he's doing. I mean, he proved lash he
could win the Super Bowl with the worst receiving corps
in the league with the running back wasn't but Checko
(08:04):
a seventh round pick, and I get it, he's played
way better than that.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
But still, he's a seventh round pick out of Rutgers
and a defense that was young, and they still won
the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
And now they've given him some speed on the edges,
some running, you know, some wide receivers that can run.
I think this year's coming out with a vengeance and
I think it's going to be a light show. But
Josh Allen, I do look, you could have had him second.
Whether I'm a little I don't want to say down
on Burrow. I'm not down on him. I think he
(08:40):
is great, But Martin, you know it. The best availability
is availability, And I'm sorry, I'm just tired of the
dude getting hurt so much. And I have to take
a little bit of that in the consideration, and so
I don't mind putting I'm with you on Lamar, whether
it's Lamar or Josh Allen right now, for the time being,
(09:06):
I don't mind putting him ahead of Joe Burrow because
I just got to see Burrow stay upright.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
For seventeen games or sixteen games or whatever. That's fair.
That's fair. I know Joe has had his fair great
flash and I get it.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
He was banged up, you know what I mean when
he first came back, but he still wasn't great till
the last couple of games.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Then he got hurt again.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
Yeah, but I mean he did walk into San Francisco
and beat that Niner team.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
You know. I'm just yeah, I mean he came.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
On, you know, late and was back to Joe Burrow
and then again, like I said, he got hurt again.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
Yeah, but I think if he's healthy and he's upright,
and I get I would say this, I think I
give him not a pass for last season. But again,
when you saw when he was at his best, he
was one of the best, if not the you know,
up their top two, top three quarterbacks in the NFL.
If he's able to come out and play at that
same level. I'm keeping him right there. I guess I'm
(09:57):
giving a little mulligan for injury. If he comes out
gets hurt again, then I'm with you.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
I get it. Okay.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
Now at this point, you know, fool me once for
me tis right.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
At this point, you're just injury prone.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
And I'm gonna defend Josh Allen. Obviously, I think we
tend to agree for the most part on this. But
the dude is phenomenal. Sure, you know, he's just not
Patrick mahone.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
That's his flaw. He's not Patrick Mahomes, and yes he
is reckless.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
A lot of his greatness are his physical gifts, his size,
his speed, his strength, the power of his arm.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
But those are real no one.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Over the last four years, he's got more touchdowns than
any quarterback not named Patrick Mahomes, and by a mile.
Last four years, Mahoons has one hundred and forty three touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Josh Allen has one hundred and thirty seven.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
And then the third place guy, I'm gonna guess who's third,
and how many touchdowns you think over the last four years.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
Over the last four years, it might be two.
Speaker 4 (11:08):
I could see it being too him that he touched
out because he's been hurt a lot o. Yah, that's
stress fair, that's fair over the last four years. I
can't think of it right now.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Kirk Cousins believe it or not.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Fifteeneen and then Herbert won fourteen Aaron Rodgers when eleven,
uh yeah, two is way way, way way down there.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
But you know he's been he's been injured. I mean,
I'm just fourteen. You call me on the spot. I
was just guessing, but.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
I mean, so, yes, you you live with the problems.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
And you know, well, that's the thing, unfortunate mistakes. It's
kind of like Brett Farr. Yeah, he's good enough. You've
heard me say it. He's this generation is Brett Farr.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
He's definitely good enough to deal with all the turnovers
and mistakes that he will make. It's just I would
like him to stop making them. If I'm going to
compare him to a guy like Patrick Mahomes, well yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
I mean he's, like I said, his problem is he's
not Patrick Mahomes, but who is?
Speaker 3 (12:10):
You know? So? But yeah, I mean I think that's
what you want.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Like this year, it looks like they don't have a
great receiving core in Buffalo. They when they made their
run last year and won what five of their last
six games something like that, they did it running the football,
whether it was James Cook or Josh Allen, and they
weren't utilizing to find Diggs to you know, a great degree,
(12:39):
but they were winning. And it feels like with them
getting rid of Digs, not you know, losing Gabe Davis
not really replacing them, it feels like they're going to
run the ball more this year and really put be
a little more conservative offensively in hopes that Josh doesn't
(13:00):
put the ball in harms way as much. Doesn't mean
obviously they're gonna throw it some you got to and
you want to, but I do think that seems to
be the game plan and.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
So hopefully, like that's what you have to be yourself.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
But he's gotta learn to be a bit smarter with
the football and even with his body, because you don't
want him to end up like Cam Newton, who took
a lot of shots, took so many shots in his
first ten years that that was basically his career.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
Absolutely, I think Curtis Samuel is gonna be a good
player for them this year, though.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
I mean, look, he's gonna get the opportunity, that's for sure.
Somebody's gonna have to catch the football. So all right,
it is The Odd Couple, Chris Bruce, Martin Weiss.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
You heard the top ten.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
According to executives and coaches around the league. Rock Party
was not in there. Should he have been. We'll get
into that next. It's Chris and Martin The Odd Couple.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
It's the way tirebind should be Antonio Daniels around the corner.
But first let's stick with the NFL and Martin. As
I said, brock Perty was ranked eleventh by the executives
and coaches in the NFL's eleventh best quarterback in the league.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
I'm not mad at that.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
I'm fine with an eleventh ranking. What I put him
ahead of Dak because he is proven that he can
do what Dak hasn't proven, which is play well and
win big in the playoffs. Dak's two and five in
the playoffs Parties four and two. Party's got a ninety
(16:36):
six passer rating, DAK ninety one. So Perty is getting
it done when it counts. And of course he's played
great in the regular season. In the last twenty one
starts for any quarterback in the league, he has more
games with a passer rating of one hundred or more
(16:57):
than any quarterback in the NFL. He's got fourteen of them,
so Dak second by the way with thirteen.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
But yeah, I think brock Perty eleven is fine because.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
I think Martin after I mean, Mahomes obviously is kind
of in the league by himself.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
And then you've got Burrow Allen Lamar kind of in
the group. Maybe c J. Stroud jumps into that group.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
I would put ye after that, after one year, I
will I would put him in there contingently, like as
long as he has.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
And see a little more. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Right, But I'm just saying, like, after Lamar in that group,
you know it's gonna fluctuate. It's kind of like the
NBA fifth best player in the world, you know, sixth
best player in the world is gonna kind of fluctuate
based on seasons. I do think that party and this
is why I'm not surprised he wasn't in the top ten,
even though his numbers.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
Suggests he should be. I get it, Like you just
said about c J. Stroud. I love c J. Stroud.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
I loved him coming out of Ohio State, but I
do want to see more than one year, So I
kind of want to see a little more. And with Purty,
when your resume or your pedigree is, let's just call
it what it is, unimpressive, Right, mister Relevant played at
Iowa State.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Was good, but not awesome.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
We're going to as great as he's been. We want
to just take a little longer before we anoint you.
If he was a top five, top ten pick in
the draft, Martin, everybody I believe would be saying, this,
dude is the truth.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Would you agree with that? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (18:41):
If he if he twitched draft positions with Trevor Lawrence, absolutely.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Yep, yep, so that you know, so, I don't I
get him being, you know, guys wanting to wait a
little while longer before they anoint him as great.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
But Lawren, Chris cut you off.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
But if he was in the same position as Joe
Burrow and with all those weapons that Joe Burrow has
been had in his NFL career, I think Joe Burrow's
a stud. But if Brock Perdy had gotten drafted up
one overall and was throwing at those weapons the same
way like he doing what he's doing now, Yeah, but
I mean, we give Joe Burrow all the credit.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Right, you know, Yeah, you wouldn't hold the weapons against him. Heck.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
I mean, and obviously we both you know how great
we think Patrick Mahomes is. But he went to a
team that was a playoff team, won eleven games, had
a great offensive coach, and Andy Reid had a Tyreek
Hill who was an All Pro receiver with Alex Smith
a Travis Kelsey who was an all Pro tight end
(19:43):
with Alex Smith and Kareem Hunt who was at.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
The height of his career.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Right, and to your point, we gave Mahomes the credit.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
We didn't hold it against him. That man, he was
in a great situation. I get it again. It was
mister relevant. He came from Iowa State.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
He wasn't you know, a top three quarterback in the
country when he was at Iowa State show.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
In the conference at Iowa State. To be honest, that's
that's that's very possible. And so I get the apprehension.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
But like I said eleven, I mean, that's ahead of
Trevor Lawrence, that's ahead of Tua, that's ahead of uh
Kirk Cousins, that's ahead of a good Jordan Love and
and Love again.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
And I like Love.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
I was saying last year before the season started, I
think he's gonna have a great year. And I saw
the maturation and the growth he displayed from his first year,
second year to you know, right to Rogers last year
in Green Bay. The little brief moments you saw of
Jordan Love, he looked much better. But still it was
(20:57):
eight games this year of great football. I want to
see a little more.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
I'm on the Chris Brussard train with Jordan Love right now.
I need to see a little bit more out of
Jordan Love. Everybody's talking about him like the first half
of the season never happened, right right.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
I do think I think this year he will, you know,
show that he's a great quarterback. I think he'll play
better than a Dak Prescott. But I have no problem
with saying I do have to see it.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
Hey, Dak Prescott was a runner up for MVP last year.
Yeah he was. He was, But.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
We've moved past that with d We want to see
you get it there. And I'm not saying the regular
season doesn't matter, because it does. I'm gonna give him
credit for that. But Dak's gotta be at his best
in the biggest moments. That's what we're waiting to see
from Daky. So where you at on P you think
eleven is too how you sound like you're having a
(21:54):
conniption fit when I said I can live with.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
That, because I'm surprised you can live with that. I
think eleven is about right. But the way you talk
about brock Party, I would have thought you would have
thought this was an insult to his character.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Now I give him props, you know, because unlike you know,
many people don't see.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
The intangibles like I do. No, that's what it is,
you know.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
They look for the arm strength, the athleticism, the prototypical
quarterback height and build and all that, and those things
are important, don't get me wrong. But the intangibles, the
quick thinking, the quick decision making, the proper and right
decision making, the accuracy, the poise, all of the leadership.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
That's important. And I think that's what brock Perty had.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
The beef I thought you would have had is having
Justin Herbert and CJ.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Stroud ahead of him.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Well, like I said, I think, you know, I think
party's in that group of what eight to ten guys
that are gonna fluctuate, and he's being punished because he's
mister irrelevant. I wouldn't have an issue. I mean, I
would do want to see Strial do it more, but
I would have more of an issue. Look, Aaron Rodgers,
(23:12):
of course all times, he's a legend, absolutely, but the
last time we saw him he wasn't very good. And
I'm talking about his last year in Green Bay. So
I kind of got an issue with him. Herbert is
tremendously talented. If Herbert doesn't play great under Harbaugh, then
I will be shocked. And that's what will make me
(23:32):
be like, oh, we got to drop him. But I
do think the dude is great. And how about Jalen
Hurts dropping But he's only had one great year out
of four, That's what I was about to say.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
He had that one year was really really good and
last year, depending on how it was, being hurt. I
blame some of that on Nick Yearihanni. I think that
he's just not the adult in the room that needs
to be. When I look at Jalen Hurts and the
guys who have coached him, and I think Nick Jiarianni's
probably the worst.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Well he better get it done this year and maybe
not Super Bowl, but they I do think Sirianni, that's yeah,
exactly all right, Antonio Daniels around the corner. Then it's
your turn to weigh in with trash Talking Tuesday eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Our next guest has theme music.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
He's an NBA champion, Serious XM, NBA Radio hosts, New
Orleans Pelicans color analyst, Fox Sports Radio, NBA analysts more
titles than Bill Russell, mart and Daniels.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
What's up man?
Speaker 6 (24:35):
So you guys are both actually back on the show.
So nobody's going on vacation nothing like that.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
Huh No, well Martin, Martin is in for Rob Rob
Rob is okay?
Speaker 3 (24:46):
All the Star Game?
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Yeah, and next week I will be on vacation.
Speaker 6 (24:50):
But hey, it's okay, So this.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
Is of course, yes, yes, yes, Antonio. I gotta do
tell you though.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
My dad is a huge fan of the Pelicans and
he loves the what you call the games, and I
heard when he heard me on with you the other day,
he was like, is that Antonio Daniels for the Pelican broadcast?
And as we just heard Chris Christmasard say, it absolutely is.
Speaker 6 (25:11):
Oh well tell them, thank you, thank you so much.
I appreciate that, no.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Doubt, and to let's go to Team USA first.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
I look, I think we're going to win gold.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
I think they've already played two top notch teams in
Australia and Canada, and even though they haven't played their best,
you know they've they've won fairly comfortably. I know Australia
made it a game late, but as I watched these games,
and Martin and I talked about this yesterday. I feel
like our offense is just kind of for the most part,
(25:47):
they're moving the ball around the perimeter looking for the
open three. Now, you know, they'll drive, take a couple
of dribbles, draw some attention, and kick it out for three.
You know, there's the occasional drive to the bucket. But
I look at the other teams and I see backdoor cuts.
I see a variety of offensive approaching. I mean, do
(26:08):
you see much more than us looking for the open threes?
Speaker 6 (26:11):
No? But the thing is I wouldn't expect much more
than that. I mean, the difference in the two for
me is a lot of these other teams have been
playing together for a long time.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Yeah, but I mean they go I hear that all
the time.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
But they go to their professional teams during the season,
whether it's NBA or somewhere in Europe.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
It's not like they're you know, they were kids.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Yeah, they played a little together, but you know what
I mean, I think that's a little overused reason information.
Speaker 6 (26:39):
But here's the thing, though, Rob, Here's the thing. Is
there another team out there that has as much talent
as the United States does? No Okay, so now let's
translate this to the NBA level. When you look at
this at the NBA level, when a star player is
taken out of the lineup, right, let's say Lucas taken
out of the lineup for that particular game for the
(27:00):
Dallas Mavericks.
Speaker 7 (27:01):
That does the ball move more?
Speaker 3 (27:03):
Yes, I get it when you don't have as much talent,
you need.
Speaker 6 (27:07):
To have to move more when you don't have as
much talent. But when you have the amount of talent
that USA does, and they had a shortened training camp, like,
we can't expect them to be out there running the
prison offense or to be out there running the triangle offense.
They like it sounds crazy to say, but they have
too much talent. So who do you run your offense through?
(27:30):
If you are Steve Kirk, when you have Lebron James
and Steph Curry and Joe el Embiid and Devin Booker
and Anthony of who do you run your offense through?
Like the US state? You know, the identity is talent.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Fair enough, I hear you, But I think that makes
the game something may be closer than they need to be.
Speaker 6 (27:53):
Well, I don't think the Australian game was different because
even in the Australian game, the game versus Australia, Lebron's
Steph and those guys didn't even start the second half
nor finish the game. So it's almost like at halftime
they win a completely different direction, you know, just like
and you can say the team Canada. Team Canada chose
(28:14):
for whatever reason to kind of shut it down at
the end of the game, and the US team kind
of shut it down that halftime because Lebron and those
other guys didn't even really play in the second half.
So I don't listen. My thing is you said you
expect him to win goal. I don't expect anything less.
I don't expect really close games. I know some of
(28:35):
these guys have been playing together since they've been ten
years old, but I don't expect a team to really
push the United States like Team Canada could or like
Australia could. I'm not expecting that, Antonio.
Speaker 4 (28:50):
Do you expect that Joel Embiid will remain in the
starting lineup, because to me, it feels like you were
just talking about how Luca when he's out of the
game for the Mavericks, how the ball moves more. It
feels like the ball is not a stop sign, but
a red light every time he catches it on the
offensive side.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
I think he'd be better served in the second unit.
What do you think?
Speaker 7 (29:08):
Like?
Speaker 6 (29:08):
With all due respect to Joel Embiid, we discussed this
today on My Sarah S x Tim Show, this particular
style of europe basketball is more geared for Anthony Davis
and than Mannebayo, because if you like anybody posting up
like that, an'ybody doing that. Joel Embiid is incredibly dominant
(29:30):
when he plays with the Philadelphia seventy six ers, but
when he plays with Team USA, like you just said,
it's almost like a stop sign. You almost want a
big that will run, that has switchability, that can step out,
knock down shots, that can that's versatile defensively, can switch
one through five and move to feet. Joel Embiid is
a lot of things, but that those are a few
(29:51):
things that he's not. And I'll say this, he doesn't
look healthy to me. He doesn't look healthy like I. Okay,
since we're talking about Team USA, can I ask you
guys the question?
Speaker 3 (30:03):
Sure?
Speaker 6 (30:03):
Totally off subject, totally off subject. Okay, So Team USA
basically released Kawhi Leonard, right right, Why are they? Why
did they release Kawhi Leonard? And Kevin Durant hasn't participated
in anything. He hasn't participated in primages, practices, games, nothing,
(30:28):
So why did they release Kawhi Leonard? But are giving
Kevin Durant the benefit of a doubt?
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Well, look, we've been saying Kawhi probably as he's obviously
great enough to be on the team, but with his
injury situation or health situation, I don't know why he
was put on the team in the first place.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
And I'm wondering about him.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Be to be like, if you're saying he's not healthy
and a lot of I've heard other people say that
if he needs his most important thing is getting ready
for the SECRE season.
Speaker 6 (30:59):
Right areas and Durandry.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
I mean, I'm a little baffled about Durant too. I
guess they think it's not a serious injury, but remember
this calv strain is the thing that led to his achilles, you.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
Know, years ago and going take So yeah, I just don't.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Know why these guys who are injured or even on
the team.
Speaker 6 (31:19):
So the thing about Kevin Durant. He hasn't participated in
anything yet. At least Kawhi Leonard was practicing. Kawhi Leonard
got off a couple of really really good practices. According
to Lauren's front, Kevin Durant hasn't practiced yet, he hasn't
scrimmished yet, he hasn't played in the game yet. But yet,
Kawhi Leonard was let go a team USA, and Kevin
Durant is still around and they're giving him the benefit
(31:42):
of the doubts. Totally different with Joel Embiid. If I'm
the Philadelphia seventy six ers, like my thing is, I
don't want him out there. He has a giant brace
on his knee and he is not moving well. He's
not moving well, and he wasn't moving well in the playoffs,
right And if I'm a Dallas Mavericks fan, the best
(32:02):
news that I heard was lukeause Slovenia not making the
Olympics because now it gives him an opportunity to rest.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
I'm with you. I mean, I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
And I I feel like after this year, Antonio, the
NBA needs to really look at this, like, don't put
guys out there who have injury histories or you know,
like our our injury prone because.
Speaker 6 (32:29):
It's okay, I would Kevin Durant be considered injury pro.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
Well, I'm not saying he's not. To me, he's not
on the level of Kawhi. Like Kawhi or NB, those
two guys are almost always hurt come playoff time.
Speaker 3 (32:45):
So I feel like there's a.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
Limit to how many games they can play in the
calendar year remain healthy. And so I don't need to
add you know, high level Olympic games to it. But
all right, Antonio, great stuff.
Speaker 8 (32:58):
Man.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
We appreciate your brother.
Speaker 6 (33:01):
For sure. I appreciate you guys.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
I have a blessed night, no doubt, Yep, you too.

a field goal, man.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
All right, here we go, all right, trash talking Tuesday
is now?
Speaker 4 (34:11):
All right, Chris, let's get to Tim and Atlanta. You're
on the odd couple. Trash talking Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
What up? That's up? Is this the first for you?
Trash talking?
Speaker 6 (34:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (34:23):
Man, I had to Chris, and let me tell you
I'm trashing. I'm trashing Rob Pelinka, JJ Reddick, Rich Paul
and lebron James. Because what we've been seeing out there
with Bronni James. You know, he looks like he's skating
out there on the Disney movie Frozen or something. It's ridiculous, man,
(34:46):
I mean, come on, man, they showed us Louis the time,
but we've gotten Louie Anderson, so you know, Lebron said
he was like fifty better than you guys in the
in the NBA. Can we just leap be the best
player in summer league?
Speaker 6 (34:59):
Come on?
Speaker 9 (35:00):
And so Lebron, you know you guys man, he showed
us through gays he so you know, peas out.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
Look, he's a project.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
Oh, I mean when JJ Reddick says he's a developmental guy, right,
Like what is he calling him?
Speaker 7 (35:15):
Like?
Speaker 1 (35:15):
He's our developmental guys Exhibit A and all that of
our new developmental program.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
Yeah, he's a project. Let's gonna hutch in Seattle. You're
a trash talking Tuesday. You're on the eye couple.
Speaker 10 (35:29):
I just wanted to start by just saying, you know,
I can't tell you how much I appreciate the show.
I'm in Seattle. I listen to you guys just about
every day, if not every day, and make my draft
home the blink of an eye. So, and I think
the reason why I like you guys so much is
you do it the right way. You know, you can
articulate your points, you always have great points, and you
do it concisely, and you're always really respectful of your guests,
(35:53):
callers each other. So I just wanted to lead trash
talk Tuesday off with that.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
Thank you man, We appreciate that though. Real talk.
Speaker 10 (36:02):
Yeah, but if I had to trash talk somebody, and
I like this guy, but it would be Joe Burrow.
He's like his zon coal killer, He's got ice water
in his veins. But to be number two, no, I
mean if you look at Josh Allen, who's three, he's
pretty pretty much up there too. He's a specimen. And
if you guys were talking about his turnovers a mistake,
(36:22):
and you're right, but look at total touchdowns like passing
rushing touchdowns, and then make the ratio touchdowns to turnovers.
Speaker 7 (36:30):
He's all.
Speaker 10 (36:31):
He's at the top. He's the most productive person.
Speaker 8 (36:34):
In the NFL.
Speaker 10 (36:35):
And the only guy that's ever done it like him
was maybe Cam and his Teak because Cam had a
cannon and he was huge, just like Josh Josh Allen.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
So, and I think Josh is, in my opinion, a
better passer than Cam.
Speaker 4 (36:47):
But yeah, but I mean Josh also had a lot
of better weapons. Thanks for the call, Hutch and Seattle,
hoping you can fight through that traffic.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
Let's go ahead and get Fernando in Vegas. Who are
you trashing.
Speaker 7 (36:59):
Oh it wasn't that a sweet call? I'm trusting you, Mary.
I hope your contract is done at six fifty four
specific expanding time?
Speaker 3 (37:08):
Are you taking my job?
Speaker 2 (37:09):
Bro?
Speaker 3 (37:09):
What I do to you?
Speaker 7 (37:11):
It's my turn to talk now yours? Could you talk
about ninety percent of the shows?
Speaker 6 (37:15):
You? That's you?
Speaker 10 (37:18):
Man?
Speaker 7 (37:18):
Hey, guys, have a great day.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
Wow, Well, Fernando, don't you do to him?
Speaker 4 (37:22):
I don't know, but I'll be here for another hour
and guess what, I'll be back tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
Sucker, how about that? Let's go to Gary tomorrow our
show tomorrow I'm doing. I'm doing updates tomorrow and Thursday. Hey,
you know what, Fernando mental finger to you? Pal? Gary Ivy.
Speaker 4 (37:38):
That was a little cold blood guts Yeah, who you got?
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Gary?
Speaker 11 (37:45):
Ronnie is a bona fie Trump. He's literally putting up
both channel numbers when it comes to thinking it up
over fifty from three is nasty work. You smell that.
That's Ronnie. He's half man, half airball. He made one
shot last game and the crowd cheered like he's a
make a wish kid. Instead of talk do the people
on call duty. His dad was the chosen one Bronnie
is the frozen one.
Speaker 4 (38:05):
Gary concise with his Hey, Fernando take notes.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
That's how you trash. Somebody come harder when you time. Uh,
the worst of people. I guess so, MJ New Orleans
real quick? Who are you trashing?
Speaker 8 (38:20):
Pressing the guaranteed contract, Lebron? He is stayed on social media. Man,
Brian is definitely better than some of these cats. I've
been watching some beliague today sprelative lightweight, Hilary Well, the
same thing makes you laugh and makes you cry. Ron's
not choice or coach.
Speaker 6 (38:40):
Uh.
Speaker 10 (38:41):
J J.
Speaker 8 (38:41):
Reddick said that Brianni's earned it. Those watching the have
no clue what that it is. Now, Lebron is saying
in Summer League that stats don't matter yet in front
and center on bleacher Report, run center on ESPN dot
com with his files and at add for the Some.
Speaker 3 (39:01):
Believe I'm all right and we gotta run MJ. But
that was you know, I mean Martin. Look, Brownie's getting
paid now, he is, you know, in the NBA.
Speaker 4 (39:16):
Everybody but Fernando. His problem is I'm getting paid. Yeah,
this comes with it comes with it for you too.
Speaker 3 (39:27):
It happens, man. You gotta have thick skin in this business,
you know that keep it locked. A couple
