on it as we speak. There's a big fight going on.
You want to Rob G. You want to set the
table here. Make sure you put down a nice linen
and some silverware, not plastic, please, But there's a big
media fight going on. My goodness, I'm glad I'm not
in it. Well I'm not really in it, or maybe

(01:55):
I'm in it a little bit. I was just trending
a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
You don't love it, right?

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Rob's over here, sending memes in the group chat. Matter
of fact, hold way, hold on, Robber breaking news since
we're here.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
I wasn't gonna go here. Let me go here.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Why we gotta do all that? You see Mary like
I'm sending information to him. I'm thinking we're on the
same team. My teammates take care of.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
And you'll appreciate this.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Let me go ahead, and hey, make your headphones a
little bigger because you're about to get you about to
get your head gonna swell up. My man's won't say
who was he know who he is? Reached out to me,
good morning, bro. Uh been off to sports media grid
for a little bit. But I just saw what you
and Rob said about Caitlin and and Reese goes on
to say Ryan Clark RG three beef and he said,

(02:44):
Rob called it. That's all I'm gonna just say. You
know we talked about he said, tell him he was
the new negro domas sports media. Have a blessed day,
Thank you, and don't act like you don't love it.
That's all I'm gonna say is Rob.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Came in yesterday and didn't know he was trending and goes,
am I trending, and we go on Twitter and we're
just looking and scrolling. I don't know. I didn't know me.
He got me and and then I posted.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
To look because I could Young Bucks failed for Mary
and Rob.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Do you followed that? Not at all? We posted a video.
Now there's a video online. I posted that. We were like,
why why are you trending? I don't know.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
I had Rob Parker rob Z continue well, as we
talked about earlier this week, that take foul that Caitlin
Clark did on Angel Reese the other day has inspired
thousands of think pieces on podcast, radio, television.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Printed word, what have you.

Speaker 6 (03:45):
And now it's led to a very public and a
very personal spat between two former NFL players are currently
in the media work together, that worked together at one
point at ESPN. It all started when Archie three, longtime
nemesis of reportedly of parking over its pretty one sided
at this point, RG three put out a tweet saying,

(04:06):
I know what hatred looks like.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Angel Reese hates Kaitlin Clark.

Speaker 6 (04:09):
Not basketball rivalry, hate, real hate, and then he later
posted a video elaborating on that tweet with his wife
sitting in the background. For those who don't know, Yes,
for those who don't know, RG three of course is black.
His wife is white. That's the big part of the
story here. Flash forward. The next day a video comes

(04:29):
out from Ryan Clark on his Pivot podcast where he
goes on a whole soliloquy about the incident itself and
about Archie Three's video, where he says in it at
one point quote the one thing we know about RG
three is he's not having conversations at his home about
what black women have to endure in this country, about
what young black women and athletes like Angel Reese have

(04:51):
had to deal with being on the opposite side of
Caitlin Clark's rise. That, of course, least to RG three
putting out his own tweets getting really upset, saying that
there's a line you don't cross in life, and Ryan
Clark sprinted past it didn't like my take on Angel Reese,
so we brought up my wife and her skin color,

(05:11):
obviously crossing a line. Ryan Clark is not gonna take
that line down though, either, oh ma, because then he
responds and this made it the most obviously the most
personal attack of all.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Bruh, you know what it is with me and you.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
I saved you the entire season winning a football home
back oft ESPN. I urge people to let you be you,
no matter how corny, how bad of a teammate you were.
I had your back. What did you do invite someone
on your show? You know what I'm fool with ask
questions about me? And it hit me weeks later to
tell me you're gonna challenge one of my takes. You're
a phony bro, one of the worst teammates I ever

(05:47):
had both on the field and in TV. You gotta
do what you gotta.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Do, Kelvin, and then you chimed in as well. But
I've actually missed that.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
So what happened, rob G did you see Marcellus Wiley.

Speaker 6 (06:02):
Marcellus Wiley chimed in as well as a few other
retired NFL players. Leon bellby on Bell was one of them.
I believe that Ryan was one of them. This is
just kind of threw a whole grenade in the whole
thing because we thought it was just between these two guys,
and obviously it got personal. But according to Marcellus Wiley Levy,
I'm balance some others. What makes this whole thing even

(06:24):
more wise, Yes, is that Ryan Clark, who was standing
up for black women everywhere and taking you know, from
RCHI three, says shots at his white wife, Ryan Clark,
one of his baby mamas is white.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
So that was the like the bombshell, that is a
bombshell that is confirmed.

Speaker 6 (06:41):
It's not been confirmed anybody this has been There's several
NFL players who are speaking of it.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
If it's fact, all right, may here with a hold up,
Hold up, because I do it right now.

Speaker 7 (06:51):
Hold up.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
That's a it's a little hold up. That's a lot
of stuff. This a lot. You go.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
You go first, rock because I might get I'm gonna
get I'm gonna take it to the abyss.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
I might have to get a little deep. Yeah, I
might have to go a little deep, So you go first.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
I just think, Yeah, this is this is not even
Angel and Caitlin anymore. This is like this says they
have some other underlying thing. And the whole thing is
people can have differing opinions. It's okay.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Are you sure you're allowed to have that? In twenty
twenty five the people do they know that? I still
think to me, you could have a differing opinion. Everybody
doesn't have to be a lockstep and all be on
the same page. We wouldn't have a radio show if
me and you were here today, seriously, and everything I
said you agreed with, we'd probably be off the air

(07:44):
by now. Okay, because you want to hear a different
sides of the story.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
If we agree, we don't fake it. If we agree
we agreed on something earlier, we just we agreed on
ok Okay, see we agree on it. Okay, we're not
gonna fake it just to make a radio show and
make you believe that we both have different opinions on everything.
But this is definitely across the line of being personal.
And I think that's where the issue comes in for
RG three, who I of course have a history.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
With, you know. And I still can't believe thirteen if
you would have told me thirteen years ago that when
I left my suit and my bag.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
In the conference room for first take in twenty twelve,
we had already done the show, like prepared the ten topics.
I went back in to get my bag and my
suit to go over to do research in the other building,
and Skip and the producer were like, hey, we really

(08:45):
want to do this topic with RG three, and you know,
can you do this?

Speaker 2 (08:50):
What would be my reason to say no, I didn't
come up with it.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
I wasn't rogue on the broadcast, and nobody knew they
had the lower third set up, you know what I'm saying, Like,
it wasn't a rogue thing at all. And that's the
thing that made me feel comfortable enough to even go
out and do that. I've been in a million you
know that you do production meetings, Rob g a million

(09:14):
production meetings. I've been in where I might say some
funny joke in a production meeting and they go, Rob,
don't say that in the air. Don't say that on
the air. You know what I mean? Yep, When I
said what I said, there was none of that. There
was nobody put their hands off. Oh my god, Please
don't say that. Oh god, nothing. Cause I didn't think

(09:36):
if you would have told me back then, thirteen years ago,
that that term would still be used and still be
relevant and people attached.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
I can't you tell me I'm trending?

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Like every so often, friends are just sending me stuff going, dude,
your name is everywhere in every comment on Twitter. It's
mind boggling to me. So I look at it. I
think you try to avoid being personal. You do, But
this is a personal feud. This is not a sports debate,
all right.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
The reason why this one disappoints me is because it's
something that I didn't think had to be. And one
of the things we don't need any more of is
more and more brothers coming at more and more brothers,
and the concept that all brothers have to think alike
and all brothers have to be a monolith. Number one,
this got way too personal, way too You start bringing

(10:26):
up people wise, I don't care if she black, white, Hindu, Christian.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
You start bringing up people wives. We've gotten to way
too casual. We're bringing up people's wives and for somebody,
for people who know and who are about that life,
women and children off guards. Did I miss something when
that changed? Because people are bringing wives and children up
way too casually, and dudes are getting way too cute
on social media.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
I'm gonna leave that at that. Clout is the new currency.
Cloud is the new currency. And everybody wants to be
cute and funny and like to have to think pieces,
as Rob he said, And everybody wants to make sure
everybody knows they're down for the calls or make sure
this is my point of view. You don't have to
jump into every argument to prove that you were down

(11:10):
with the culture. You don't have to jump into everything
to prove that you are. You got boots on the
ground and making a change in your community. And one
of the things I've learned from being in this business
long enough, Kelvin Washington, don't have to jump into everything.
And that doesn't mean that I don't care, and that
doesn't mean that I'm not doing things in my community
and to help change things. And what I say that
because people are jumping in and making it as if

(11:33):
I don't speak up, then I don't care about set calls.
If I don't speak up about this, then I'm not
a real one. And I just can't believe we got
these guys, guys, grown men, going at each other twitter fingers.
I just didn't think we would get to this point. Now,
tying us back into Caitlin and Angel Reese, the WNBA

(11:54):
enjoys the engagement, enjoys that people are having these conversations.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
But this has to outlast this.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
And if Angel and Caitlyn Clark are the Larry Bird
and Magic Johnson that brings more eyeballs, then they have
to start getting back to where it's basketball to keep
you glue, because that's what Magic and Larry did. It
involved race, and most things in American folks are going
to involve race. It involved race, and then it involved coast.
You got the East Coast and the West coast, and

(12:20):
involved style of play blue collar verus showtime. But it
also involved basketball, good playing basketball that led to them
winning the championship or then winning the championship. Ultimately, that's
what this has to become about as well, so that
you can usher in your Michael Jordan and take you
to the next level like they did with Juju Watkins,
who I believe has that chance.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
So you all keep you may be better than Kaitlyn
Clark basketball wise. Absolutely, I'm talking about it. I can't
see possibly, is what I'm saying. I can't see anybody.
I'm talking about the numbers that came.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
I really Here's why I'll say that, Rob, I Care's
why I'll say that. If you if I'd have asked
you that in nineteen eighty six, you would have said
this something magic and bird, nothing going ever get bigger
than that. And then you never know the skinny kid
wearing a chain with his tongue out. You're like, all right,
maybe something different With Jordan. I say, Juju, she has
real hoop fans, she has dudes, she has.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Women, she has celebrities. But but I don't.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
Think she and just some reason why I'm the only
reason for Caitlyn is because she didn't play basketball like
most you know neither does. She doesn't she doesn't have that.
She's really good. Don't get me wrong, they ain't doing
that Kaitlyn ain't doing Juju. No, but she ain't doing
what the logo threes. That's what's separated. But she can

(13:35):
where guys were like what, I'm not.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
Just aging that novelty aspect of what Caitlan did, and
also that she would.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Because women's basketball, there's been a lot of great women's
basketball players.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Hear hear, but that's but that's why I never got there.
But she may not be. I just do.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
What I'm saying is if I'm the w n b A,
this is how I view it. She can be we
see what's coming. Juju is huge. She every every ten minutes.
That's a Juju commercial in front of me right here,
and she can do this.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
I don't see what what Caitlyn did by with the
numbers on the n C A, A and and the other.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
I think I always say never because you would have
said she never was gonna happen two years before Kaitlyn,
you would have said she's never gonna.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
I just don't see if I told you numbers her
compounding on top of after Juju a year or two later,
I hear, you don't see that.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
All I'm saying, I'm saying, there's a big chance because
of hopefully what they're building, what they're creating, right, they're
creating this thing. But to sum it up with me
again going back to those two dudes, I'm just disappointed
at every time they play, everybody has to get on
their soapbox, everybody has to say this and r G
three one thing I will say, he didn't consider what.

(14:48):
Why does Anger Reese? If you view that she hates Caitlyn?

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Why?

Speaker 4 (14:54):
What what is going on? That would make because she
doesn't seem like she doesn't. But why? Because I think
it's more than just all she's good at basketball, well,
so is Asia Wilson, and so is Sabrina.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
I ain't osku, so are other people.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
I think a part of it is that Angel Reese
is upset that her basketball identity has to be tied
to Caitlyn Clark.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
She's got a massive idea.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
You could argue off the court she's bigger than Kaitlyn
Clark as far as pop culture, But basketball wise, I
think there's a frustration.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Shotting five for eighteen, it ain't basketball wise.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Right, But I'm saying I think she's upset that it's
tied to that. But I'm just blown away that the
conversation of women's basketball would lead men, grown men to
going at in a spa and twitter fingering and bringing
people's wives and kids in. I did not think that
we would get here. I thought we would keep it
on the court. And I'm blown away that this is
where we've gotten to, where these two women are hooping

(15:49):
it up and now were going at your mama, this,
your wife for that, your kids that over that, and
I would say I'm disappointed in that.

The Odd Couple, Rod Parker Kevin Washington on a trash
talking Tuesday with about twenty minutes or so, we'll get
to that. We got Joe Thaisman coming up in about
six minutes or so, Super Bowl champ, former NFL MVP,
knows the thing or two about the league and also golf.
We'll have a conversation with him as well, and just
a little big we.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Could either do that and talk about what we're gonna
talk about.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
Yeah, well, real quick, I got tell him about this

While Express helps people in all industries find work. Our
sweet spot is logistic roles and Express never charge the

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Uh, you know, let's let's do let's talk about this.
She got Wan Sodo. So Michael Kay, who does the
Yankees on television. I've known Mike for a long time.
We covered Saint John's together. He was writing for the
New York Post. I was in the Daily News. I'm
talking about. This is like eighty six or seven. I've
known them for a long time. And I've seen a

(17:17):
quote and I'm assuming that that it came from Michael
Kay that he had talked to some people said that
Juan Soto really wanted to resign with the Yankees, but
his family was more about the Mets because all the
perks a Swede and I don't know, access to a
private jet, you know, and all this other you know,
stuff that would be good for the family, you know

(17:37):
what I mean, like along with and it was five
million dollars more and one less year. Yes, so it's
more than that, but you know what I'm saying, seven
sixties with the Yankees offer seven sixty five the Mets,
but one year less than the Yankees offer. Okay, so
we got all that. But supposedly there's grumbling that Mets
management is a little concerned that there's no enthusiasm from

(18:02):
one soda or excitement. And Bob Clapp is a longtime
baseball rier. I used to work with Bob at the
Daily News. He was a great baseball I know. Who
didn't you work?

Speaker 4 (18:14):
I know, I know, And now I'm officially in the list.
Rob g So whenever our show's over, he goeshere. You
know Kelvin Washington. Yea, I used to work with kel Bushington.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
When you're around for forty years, you kind of work
with everybody. Yes, and I can't hold the job, so
I have worked with everybody. But anyway, Bob says that
the word is miserable, that he's miserable.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
With the Mets.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Can you imagine signing a contract for seven hundred and
sixty five million dollars and you're only in May of
how many years is the rob g fifteen years, it's
gonna be May. And it's only been a couple of months,
and you're miserable. And the Mets were in first place
until yesterday. They're in tecond place. I have a game

(18:54):
behind the Phillies, so it's not like they're on a
bad team anymore.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
Twenty games under five hundred, right, this is where to me.
And we had this conversation when the negotiations were happening,
and I said, you have to be ready. Heavy is
the head that wears the crown. You ain't just one
of the guys now in the pinstripes.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
You are the You are the guy. You ain't just
one of the guys.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
You ain't just Hey, we're all here, and you're behind
Aaron Judge and you got gen Carlo Stanton and you
got guys there, and really even you're behind the logo
or the team Yankees period.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
Right, that's first.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
It's rare, where like the team, a franchise is bigger
than Briggs Lebron is the Lakers are bigger than Lebron.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
Right, that's just one of the rare times. And the
Yankees are like that.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
I don't give it, dang who you show Hey, no, hey,
the Yankees, Aaron Judge, it's the Yankees.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Yankees first, Yankees first, Aaron Judge.

Speaker 4 (19:50):
And my point was you were just one of the
guys in a great lineup that had a chance to
win the World Series. And I said it, then I
you're the guy. And what comes with that is the attitude.
What comes with that is the work ethic. What comes
with that is regular Tuesday in the middle of June
when you're tired. All of that. How you handled the media,

(20:11):
it matters now. All of the skipped out Sunday night.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Yep, after the Mets lost the third game, the rubber
game of that series in the Bronx, he didn't talk
to the media, which people look at as come on, man,
like you shouldn't be that guy.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
You're the main guy for ten years.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
Just show up and talk about it for a couple,
you know, a couple of minutes. And then here's the
number that I saw tonight. I don't know what he
did tonight, if he even came up with runners in
scoring position. You know, he's batting for the season with
runners in scoring position, so it is a slow start.
I brought this up on MLB Network with Brian Kenny
that he would struggle in the beginning with going to

(20:51):
Queens and you know they poop pooed it and we're like, oh,
rab he's too good. But he's struggling. Anybody said he's
not he strugg Can we say that he's struggling.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
He is struggling. And again he did this when he
went to San Diego. He did struggle that first struggle
that first year, got it right, but made made the
All Star team the next year. And I expect him
to make eighty percent of the offs. I mean, he
might miss a year and just because some other young
guy was hot to agree with you, but.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
To make it.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
But the difference is when you get that money, people
expect you to be judge b show Hey, and this
is what comes with it. And so I think he
absolutely was supposed to take the money. But the grass
ain't always greener and that extra year might not have
been a big deal. The long grand scheme of things,
and when you want to be the guy, these are

(21:44):
the things that come with it. They're watching you, they're
calling you out. The wins are what a while you
play well. The losses or the slumps are man you
gotta get it together. You're supposed to be the leader,
the hitter, and this is what comes with it. So
he's got to deal with it. Speaking of somebody who
knew about being a man, the leader of a team.
We got Joe, thisman coming up in a little bit,
super Bowl champion, former NFL MVP. We'll talk some football also,

(22:06):
we'll talk he's got a golf tournament.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
We'll talk about it as well.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
And if you want to line up, make yeah, we
can start calling if you want to get in now,
because I have a feeling it's going to be a
crazy one.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
Trash Talking Tuesday, Rob, what's that number?

Speaker 1 (22:17):

to hear what you guys have to say. We're joined
now by Super Bowl champion former NFL MVP Joe thiysman.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Joe. Great to have you on the IDO.

Speaker 7 (22:56):
What's up, Joe, you guys in a long time.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
It has been hope you're doing well.

Speaker 7 (23:03):
I am, thank you. Trying to work on my golf game.
You know you got the big tournament coming up.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Yeah, I'm out. Jell's a little bit more about that.

Speaker 7 (23:11):
Well, it's the it's the American Century Championship out in
Lake Tahoe. It'll be played between July eleventh and July thirteenth,
and the coverage will be on the Golf Channel, Peacock
and NBC. And we're waiting to figure out if Steph
Curry is going to be able to play or not.
You know, he was a twenty twenty three champion and
had a hole in one in twenty twenty three. Tim

(23:33):
Brown had a hole in one last year, got a boat.
I think it's my turn to be perfectly.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
I like that thinking there, Joe, That's what I'm thinking.

Speaker 7 (23:42):
But it's this is such a great tournament. I mean,
you know, Marty Fitch won last year Devine hundred and
fifty thousand in prize money one hundred and fifty thousand
to first place. Seventy thousand people expected in the galleries,
and you know Anica sword and stamp. Charles will be there, obviously,
Joe Pavelski I think he has a shot this year.

(24:04):
And you know, because I'm such a big top gun
Mavericks fan, Miles Tillers there and every time I see him,
I just you know, I'm like a little kid all high.
Miles is so nice to see. And of course lots
of guys. But you know, a couple of things about
the tournament, and we also have a fantasy aspect to it,
and you can log on to Americans Actually you can

(24:27):
log on to Accfantasygolf dot com to enter the contest,
but it's the American Century Fantasy Golf Contest and log
on and mid June is when you pick five teams.
There's five different categories of players. Pick one player from
each group and you can change each day. The winner
of each day winds up with two tickets to next

(24:49):
year's tournament. The winner of the overall picking gets a
ten thousand dollars prize to go to the charity of
their choice, and also two tickets to next year. So
we've got some great action. And who doesn't love.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
Fantasy, you know exactly. And you know what, Steph can't
bow out.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
It is at least we know basketball is not in
away from him, not coming all stop.

Speaker 7 (25:10):
I'm just saying, Joe, you know, I hope, I hope
he's going to be there. I always love to see it.
But you know, you know where I spend most of
my time on the range next to Onnica. I mean her,
Oh yeah, her swing is just so pure and she's
such a sweetheart of a person. And you know, I
just I've played in LPGA Pro amps and to be

(25:30):
honest with you, for somebody that tries to swing as
hard as I do at times, to watch the ladies
hit the ball, it's a great lesson.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
Well, go ahead, go ahead, I'm sorry, go ahead.

Speaker 7 (25:42):
No, No, it's just it's it's as my whole thing
is tempo. I'm just too darn quick. And you watch
you watch them on tour and they hit the ball far.
You know, everybody equates speed with distance, and that's not
the case. I'm finding out.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
You just got to hit it in the right spot.
It's like hitting a base you know what I mean.
You don't have to swing really hard. If you hit
it in the sweet spot right and get that, the
ball will.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Do will do the work right, You'll do anything. The
matt will do the work. You don't need to swing hard.

Speaker 7 (26:14):
Absolutely. And you know what's interesting now, is you know
because baseball is one of my favorite loves. I mean,
I love watching I love watching the Dodgers play because
their first five guys up to the plate are just awesome. Show.
We're so blessed to be able to watch Showyani play ball.
It'd be like, you know, to me, it's like, okay,
I'm watching Babe Ruth. You're watching this. This this generational

(26:36):
person who can do so many things. And he's so big.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
That's that's a big thing. We talk about that all
the time. He's legit.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
Yeah, he's a big guy and he's put together like
like a brick.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
I want to get to you on football And I
saw the rock Party got the big deal with the
what'd you call him? I called him? I said, if
I was a general manager. His name would be broke
already good you want me get that kind of money, Joe,
I'm just saying. But my point is, and it's not
that I'm not like the whole Well, he was missed irrelevant,

(27:13):
so you can't pay him, That's not my issue. I
just wonder what the percentages are. Seriously, this team went
to the super Bowl before.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
He got there.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
This team had a lot of weapons, and they were
already a really good team. And I'm not taking anything
from him because we didn't do the same thing, uh
with with Kurt Warner who was undrafted, right, we looked
at him and we knew what we were watching, Joe,
That's all I'm saying. And Brock Perdy, I'm still not
convinced that it's him more so than it is the

(27:43):
weapons and the system and everything else.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
That's all.

Speaker 7 (27:47):
Let me. Let me let you. I think you've really
touched on something that is so important. Part of it
is system, part of it is his ability to process
the offense, and a large part of any quarterback success
is the people around him. Now, last year, last year,
he gets hurt. They had a lot of people hurt
last year. Let's face it, I mean, they were just

(28:08):
and you know, and you knew he was going to
get paid. I mean played for basically nothing a year ago.
Basically we're in the same situation with Jayden Daniels here.
He had an incredible rookie year. He's got three years
to wait to get paid. Yeah, you know, and and
I hope he just continues to get better and better
and better. And if he does, he'll set a new record.
It's like everybody sets a new record with salaries. I mean,

(28:30):
sooner or later, you're gonna hurt your football team by
paying so much money. I asked one of the owners
at a this was about a seven eight years ago,
and I said, will we ever see a fifty million
dollar quarterback? This is when like the top was forty
And he said, oh absolutely. I said, that's nuts. Now
it's now it's sixty. And it's just and good for

(28:52):
those guys. I'm not one of these guys that played
a long.

Speaker 8 (28:54):
Time ago and oh well, you know, we were the.

Speaker 7 (28:57):
Ones that in the game boloney. It's just good for
the guys that are getting it now, God bless them.
It's a different time, a different era, a different age,
and and just the thing that you got to do
is be able to perform.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
You just told me you talked about baseball when show
Hey signed a seven hundred. Now, I didn't think that
that Wan Soda would get seven sixty five?

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Did you?

Speaker 1 (29:20):
After that, I thought, okay, there's a ceiling seven hundred,
and I still went seven sixty five.

Speaker 7 (29:26):
Who's going to go eight? I know that's the next one.
Who goes? Who goes eight? That's that's the big one.
I mean. And the thing about it is, and maybe
baseball drives me a little bit crazy. I'm a huge
baseball fan. You got drafted by the Minnesota Twins.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
No, I didn't know that we're positioned Joe.

Speaker 7 (29:40):
A short stop. It's a shortstop. Yeah, I loved it.
I mean, I was a skinny little kid in college.
I graduated one hundred and seventy five pounds. Wow, you know,
I played fifteen years of professional football, never weighed more
than one hundred and eighty five pounds. No, I had.
I had a waste that ladies would die there you go,

(30:01):
I had. I had that tiny little waist.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
With the big with the V with the V sutted down.
He didn't have the V. He had the V.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
He have to v yes, you got those broad shoulders. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
and then the little waist, no, big big.

Speaker 7 (30:15):
The big last, you know, the big last. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Well well Joe, well, Joe, we're definitely glad that we
were able to talk to you, and we'll look forward
to this football season coming up.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Hopefull we can have you back.

Speaker 4 (30:25):
And by the way, everybody again in the thirty sixth
American Century Championship and Lake Tahoe coming up July eleventh
and through the thirteenth on the Golf Channel, Peacock and
NBC is going to be a bunch of folks there,
Josh Allen, Travis Kelsey, Aaron Rodgers, Charle Brokler is just terrible.
My swing is terrible, Joe, and then John Smokes. Everybody's
gonna be there. Yes, it'll be a good time. And
I gotta work on my I'm I slice, Joe every

(30:46):
time show my drive.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
I slice. So I gotta work on that.

Speaker 7 (30:49):
You know why, because the club's coming from outside in.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Okay, I work on it.

Speaker 7 (30:54):
You're you're cutting across the ball, try and take it
back a little bit more inside and hit the inside
of the ball.

Speaker 4 (30:59):
All right, Next talk today, yep, Next time we have
you on, I'll tell you how it's going.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Appreciate you, Joe, thanks too much.

Speaker 7 (31:06):
Take care of advide, all.

Speaker 4 (31:07):

already obituary.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
Trash talking. Let's kick it off, Derek in Chicago. You're
on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Who you trashing?

Speaker 8 (32:14):
Derek?

Speaker 9 (32:16):
I was going gentlemen, first time caller, loved the show.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Appreciate you, Yes, sir, Rob, you're the truth.

Speaker 9 (32:21):
And Calvin I just like to say you've done a great,
excellent job stepping in for Chris man Man.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
Appreciate you. Derek town.

Speaker 7 (32:30):
Right.

Speaker 9 (32:31):
Uh So, anyway, I'm trash talking. Funky Friday, Okay, Well,
a couple of weeks ago, you guys played James Brown,
and usually you guys played questionable funky tracks sometimes may
or may not be funk. You always mentioned the artist.
But you played James Brown and you guys just talked
right through.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
Are you serious?

Speaker 6 (32:53):
So that?

Speaker 1 (32:53):
Hey, the funky flashback Friday? We deserved that if we
didn't give James Brown his props.

Speaker 9 (33:00):
Yeah, you gott so got awesome. Yet you also married.
I don't know who it is out there, but Mary,
you gotta play more. James and you gotta play more
Prince on a Sunky flashback DJ.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
Thank you, but okay, but yeah we got respect on
the on the King of Soul.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
No right, we gotta do that. Not bad James James Brown, godfather,
Godfather and I'm just ruined it. Make it even worse,
you like, what would you say? Matt and I'm super
bad Matt in Los Angeles, join the couple of Fox
Sports made, who are you trash?

Speaker 10 (33:32):
And Matt, I'm trashing the joker hater Kelvin Washing. He
gets to Game seven with no other All Stars, and
you got to make sure he gets all the smoke
called the criticism. The team hasn't stround him with anyone
in this case. Rob Parker is right there we go, Kelvin. Kelvin,

(33:53):
you need to drink from the fountain of knowledge that
is Rob Parker.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Wow.

Speaker 10 (33:57):
And Rob, Yes, Rob, you need to nibbling on Rob
GE's biscuit.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
Love the show, guys, Thank you.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Thanks, Matt, I've stopped doing that a long time ago. Yeah,
no more.

Speaker 1 (34:08):
No Wills, Will and Wisconsin, You're on the eye couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (34:13):
Who you trash?

Speaker 3 (34:14):
It?

Speaker 11 (34:14):
Will was going on gentlemen today, I'm trashing the firm
of Guten, Courst and Murphy, the executives of the Green
Bay Packers. Uh so in their activity here right the
trying to ban the push push and well that's more
for it. And also the issue that both executives are
taking with the athletes participation in this flag football in

(34:37):
the Olympics. Guys, we've got executives here who are doing
everything but building a competitive roster. Romeo Dobbs right now,
I think it was reported yesterday if they're now at
this point after the draft, Romeo Dobbs, as far as
that team has the not the highest percentage of catches,
I think he's at fifty nine percent of catches on

(34:58):
his targets, but as far as that team, he he's
like he has the highest he doesn't have the highest yards,
but he does have for that team. But the next
the other like the next most competitive, you know team
that you can stack them up against the Bengals. They
don't have a guy in there, a receiver that has
less than sixty percent somehow.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
Well, thank you man, you going man. Let me tell
you so. Will you write that in a letter?

Speaker 8 (35:22):
Will?

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Will you hackers will in Houston? You're on the couple
of Fox Sports Ready, who you try your will?

Speaker 8 (35:28):
I know what's going on? Man, third time Colin, the
first time since Kevin been on. Man, you're doing a
good job. Bro.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Appreciate you. Man, Thanks, Man.

Speaker 8 (35:37):
No problem. What's up? You know? I hate to do
it to you, but Kevin, I got your back on
yo kids. Man, you gotta show up in game seven. Man,
I mean, even if your team don't come through, you
gotta do your part. And it seems like he ain't
the only one that can't elevate Westbrook and making the champion.

(35:58):
Winning the championship is.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
All right.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
Appreciate it well, John and Nashville. You're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. Who you're trashing John.

Speaker 7 (36:11):
With a villa.

Speaker 12 (36:12):
Everything's good. Yeah, I appreciate you taking the call.

Speaker 7 (36:15):
Man.

Speaker 12 (36:15):
I'm trusting Chip.

Speaker 13 (36:17):
Kelly.

Speaker 12 (36:17):
The man is washed up as a coach. All the
post Oregon days. He's failed at every head coach and
stop that he's been and now he's trying to trying
to ban and rid the iconic Michael Myers Halloween stance
that asks and gency brings to the table. What are
you doing? Man? He's the most productive college football running

(36:41):
back this past year and let the man do.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
What he does. There you go, guess what what's that?
If Kelly keeps it up, they might start calling him
Chip too. Kelly, I'm just saying, well, he sounded like,
can't sound like he wanted Chip his too. Ken in California,
you're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Who are you trashing?

Speaker 8 (36:58):
Ken?

Speaker 7 (37:00):
In the house?

Speaker 14 (37:00):
You're astounded Celtics up hand the list that comes out
and doc mom, and won't that to the question because
marm telling them put chicken wings on it? Man, Come on,
stick up for yourself.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
To call you.

Speaker 14 (37:12):
What about with the Calves?

Speaker 13 (37:21):
He could, Yeah, can't run horse class, couldn't. Wasn't your
chicken wing?

Speaker 8 (37:31):
Mom?

Speaker 2 (37:32):
There you go? Can thank you all right? Ken? Ken turn,
Kennis turn. He's back with me. Here's back. He's not
a week now. That's chicken wing bets that people owe me.
I can't wait today.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Where's where's Kevin from Culver City? He remember we bet
on the Lakers right now? Yeah, come on, Calves, I
can't believe that you should already be saying you're gonna
meet me in Culver City and get wing.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
He has been strategic with his calls. He no, he
called when you were gone? Did he really call?

Speaker 2 (38:03):
Last week? Each day you were gone? He called?

Speaker 4 (38:04):
In that snitched up you dry snitch. I'm just saying.
I was like, what up, Caffy. He's like, hey, rob
ain't there? How you doing they good? I want to
talk about the mother that we're ropped coming back cool.
I ain't never called.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
Him a game messed up. That's so messed up.
