Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah, I think.
Speaker 5 (02:44):
I think it's a common one.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
I think somewhere in there was a compliment. Yeah, I
think so. Yeah, So we got a lot to do.
We we got the big game coming up.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
By kickoff is what about twenty minutes away or something
like that Thursday night football?
Speaker 3 (02:58):
What is it streaming on now?
Speaker 4 (03:00):
We talked about that I can't keep up Peacock's Amazon Primes,
Yeah Prime on Thursday. The Oscars gonna be on YouTube.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
But but you know, here we go.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
And this reminds me very much of last year right
now because Sam Ronald McDonald is the quarterback for Seattle.
They're eleven and three going for last year around the
same time, it was like the second to last game
of the year, right or last game of the year, yeah,
Sam last But yeah, like was playing Alliance. It wasn't
(03:34):
at home where this game is. It was on the road.
They went in the red zone a number of times
to start the game. They couldn't get in the end
zone and they wound up losing that game. And it
was that where I thought he had had an unbelievable year,
because what did they finished fourteen and three?
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Fourteen and three?
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Now I think it was them, Lions and the Packers
are all fourteen something like that.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
They were all close to fourteen three. But he had
a bad game.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
And then he had a bad game in the playoffs
against the Rams, and that became the beginning of the
end of him in Minnesota. For a lot of reasons,
Ay already had a quarterback who they had drafted. They
moved up in the draft to draft him. I get
all that, but it didn't Again it was Sam Donald
played great all year and then the two biggest games
(04:24):
he turned in the stinker, And I just I still
don't buy into Sam Donald. There's so much bad juju
video out there that I can see. If he has
a stinker tonight or doesn't play well, I think people
will buy into the idea that, you know what, he
can win games, he can put up numbers, but he
(04:48):
can't win any big games. And I think that just
could stick with him.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Now.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
If he blows out the Rams and plays really, Well,
then that'll change. But I'm just saying he's the thirty.
But it's always like for me, it's usually one of
the other. And what I mean by dad is he
can play normal and throw one bad interception that leads
to them losing.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Okay, that is very possible. Okay, so you could have.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Two touchdowns whatever, and then in the fourth quarter when
the game's on the line, throw a bad pig and
then they people go, see he can't win the big game.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
That's what I mean.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
So here's where I will agree that Sam Donald has
to exercise the demons. He has demons, and he does
and he has to exercise those demons and realize you
don't have to make that play right now. Sometimes I've
heard some defenders, defensive coordinators and people talk about, you know, analysts,
that he freaks out and he reverts back to the
(05:41):
old him at times and he has to get out
of that and realize, Yo, you've actually been a good
quarterback the last two years of your life. And so
where you say, and I totally got it. More so
last year the Hey, there's a lot of bad tape
on him. No one could argue that even Sam Donald
couldn't argue that the difference is now with two different teams,
two different franchises, you've had almost the identical season. So
(06:05):
this season, well, let's go last year. Last year with
the Vikings fourteen and three in a really good division,
he has sixty six percent completion percentage forty three hundred yards,
thirty five touchdowns, twelve interceptions. Quarterback rating of one hundred
and two. This year sixty seven percent percentage thirty four
hundred yards. So you'll end up right around there, give
it take. Touchdowns are down, and touchdowns are down some,
(06:27):
and interception is right there. He'll have what three games,
So let's say he gets six more, so he'll be
down maybe six ish touchdowns, give it two. But he
also could add three more. Great, so your numbers are
down some. Quarterback rating is exactly, say one hundred and
two is one two point five last year. So why
I'm going with this is I do think the tape
on him has become he can lead a franchise as
(06:48):
long as there are pieces around him and you have
good you have a good team. So the Seahawks have
a good defense, they run the ball, and well enough.
Obviously he's got star receiver in jsn uh So he's
proven now, Rob, I think we have good tape on
him that he can be a franchise quarterback.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
He can lead a team. Now. Is he exceptional? You know?
Speaker 4 (07:08):
Is he that upper echelon? Is he Joe Burrow went healthy,
or Josh Allen or Matthew Stafford even No, But I
think he's more than capable of leading a franchise.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
And that's to me real quick.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Where the Vikings I think mistakingly got rid of him
too early.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
J J.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
Mccarth, it's still early. I will be the first to
say it's still early. I don't believe in like one
year that you we got to see they played a
great game last week. It was amazing. But he's had
horrific all time worst games ever. Then he'll bounce back
with a solid one and and he's done that.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
He might have had the biggest game of the year
beating the lawn in Detroit.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Yeah, well, that that drives me crazy. I agree that
that is the one that's you've you've heard me say
it on and that's the game that you kind of check.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Okay, we get this one and you don't get that one.
That's the one that can that on.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Now, you keep the Lions out of the playoffs, you'll
look back and go we lost to the Vikings in Detroit,
but he was slipper. He's still gonna play the Vikings
in Minnesota and in Chicago.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Yep, yeah, and uh Pittsburgh this week.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
So they got Pittsburgh, Vikings, Chicago all winnable. But you
didn't give yourself any those as well. So what I'm
saying is I think the Vikings, where I've always been
was they missed out on having a guy that they
could have got for a relatively good price, for a
guy who can win you ten to eleven to fourteen games.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
I think they missed out on that. I think that
was I.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Think this is where me and you redisagree is it's
not just about winning regular season games. The reason that
Jared Golf is not in Los Angeles is not that
he didn't win those games.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
He did.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
He actually led them to the super Bowl, Okay, but
they didn't believe he could win the big game. That
is a that that's a reason the Rams move a
quarterback that got you to the super Bowl, that had
the fifth greatest offense of.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
All time the year that he win, he went to
two Pro Bowls.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Like, let's not act like Jared Goff didn't do anything
in Los Angeles. They didn't believe in him, and that
is the belief. They didn't believe in Sam Donald after
that one year. They thought, dude, Okay, he had weapons,
he had a running game, he had a defense. We
could almost put anybody in there and still kind of
get there.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
And I give you JJ McCarthy's a rookie and that
first year and all that, But that's the difference where
Sam Donald doesn't have any leeway because if he has
a stinker here and they lose in the playoffs and
he does I'm just saying people will go back and see,
that's why we can't rely on him. That's why we
can't sign him to a big, real contract where he's
(09:43):
going to be around and we know we got for
the next five years. Here's because of those things, and
that's why Jared Golf is in Detroit.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
I don't. But here's where I push back on that.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
You're right that they they had it because they had
an opportunity to get someone who I think universally everyone
would say is better than Matthew Stafford. So if you're
Minnesota and you're letting Sam Donald go because you're getting
Matthew Stafford like his Remember remember he wasn't almost a
Ram this something.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Yeah. But and if you're getting Matthew Stafford, then I'd
okay with that.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
I see, I disagree with you from this standpoint. They
wanted to get rid of and Stafford became available. They
wanted to get rid of Jared Goff because Stafford coming
into that had not won a playoff game.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
And the point was, we have all of these.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
Things already, we're not trying to If Matthew Stafford showed
up there and the Rams had not been to the
Super Bowl, then I would buy your argument. But that's
not what happened. They had already gotten there with a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
That's because he's the one that can get up over
the hull.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
No, but they But my point is that Jared Goff
got sent off because they didn't believe in him. And
I'm telling you that the reason that Sam Donald got
sent off wasn't because of JJ McCarthy. It was because
they didn't believe. I don't he can get I don't
know that that's what he's more. He's more like Jared
(11:09):
Golf in this situation than Matthew Stafford is what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
And I don't Here's what I'm saying. I don't disagree.
I don't think Sam Donald's in that upper echeline. What
I'm saying is I don't want to get rid of
Sam Donald, who has been really good now for two
years for nothing. Meaning if I'm getting rid of him
and I have a Matthew Stafford or Justin Herbert was
available or something like that, you go, hey, man, thank you,
appreciating man, wish you all the best.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Totally would get that.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
I'm not letting this guy go who threw thirty five
touchdown sweven interceptions of.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
When the games mattered the most, he didn't.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
He didn't play, and I can bounce back again because
he just bounced back again. And now he's sitting here
at eleven and three, whereas I'm not with you.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Just saw the last game where he couldn't even get
a touchdown at home, and.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
Matthew Stafford has that game last year. Matthew Stafford had
a stretch. Because you kept bringing it up, they had
a stretch where they couldn't score. No, I I know
my point is that does happen from time to time
where you have a get what is going on? We
set up here for a week at the week at
the week at the week. Why can't the Eagles score
but they're winning? Why can't the Eagles for this but
the winning? Why can't they know the difference?
Speaker 1 (12:06):
The difference is they had already won the differences that
stafford before one.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
No, no, no, the last year counts too for Sam do
And that's okay.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
So if you're telling when you start looking at it,
you start looking at him, there's a question mark there.
That's why go look at the contract they gave him.
They even gave him in Seattle a bogus contract, right,
what you thinking about to get down a bogus contract
unless unless he has.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
To go, they're gonna get They're gonna add it.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
No, they're not twenty his last thirty one games. Sam
Donald is twenty five and six.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
You know what he is, twenty and thirty one in
his last thirty one games, he's zero and two. That's
his record to me to UH Minnesota and no thirty
one games.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
He's only asked the question answer like that answers.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
I know, I'm just saying, you don't think Sam Donald
in Minnesota right now is sitting there competing in the
NFC North to win that division.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Why what has changed?
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Because there's other teams there now. The whole division is tough.
I don't know the Lions were coming down well, but
they did come right. I'm saying this so meaning the
Lions aren't last year. This is not last year where
they had the AFC South or whatever that weak division
they had where they all won fourteen games.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
That ain't He's even in a rivaling tough division. You
maybe could even say his division that was even tougher
than the NFC.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
He's eleven and three. It's not not to have confident.
It's not gonna buy into him. And I'm gonnakay with
that is Sam Darnold. And when he wins the Super Bowl,
I'll raise my hand. And so what I'm saying, I
don't believe that he's that super different. I don't you
only operate in the absolute meaning he's got to be
Joe Montana, I'm saying, I there ain't but.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
Trying to win them guys.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
No, but it's only three or four. They're trying to win.
And every time there's a big game, you lay an egg.
If he plays well tonight, I'll give him credit because
this is a big games. And if he plays poorly tomorrow,
me and you will argue and I'll say this is
why I don't buy an sam.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
But I'm saying now, conversation will have tomorrow. So you
general manager Parker in Minnesota is stuck with J. J.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
McCarthy.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Yeah, but he's still a young player who you believed,
who you believed in, why you moved up to draft him,
and you feel you could develop him.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Okay, you took a step back this.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
Year, so you don't give him any credit for going
to a completely different organization across the country, brand new everything,
losing guys, losing DK Metcalf, everybody who he went there,
and you lost your number one web and now you
see her at eleven people, no higher conference because you know,
you don't give him an.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
No, because it ain't about that, It's about what does
he do now. The reason he's not in Minnesota is
because he didn't beat the Lions. Even though they were
in the red zone the first four possessions of that game. Okay,
they were in the red zone. It wasn't like they
couldn't move the ball or the lion stopped him. You
know what I mean? Cole, No, he couldn't make the
plays that needed to be made in that situation. I'm
(15:00):
I just saying tonight will be another example, all right?
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Eight seven?
Speaker 4 (15:03):
So you screwed then because you don't like Matthew Stafford
or Sam Donald.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
I'm not screwed at all. Eight seven seven ninety nine.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
Or if they both just have horrible games, you'll be
happy both throw three four interceptions.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Yeah, and then it's a running a running back and
wins the game. You'll be so happy. Eight seven seven
ninety nine On Fox? Are you so?
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Kelvin believes that Sam Donald will win Seattle or Super Bowl?
And I'm not buying into it. I don't think he
can win a big playoff game.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Where are you on?
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Sam Donald? Has he convinced you? Are you sold all
the way? You're cool with him? You believe in him?
Because I don't believe in him at this point. He's
got to show me. Eight seven seven ninety nine On Fox,
It is the odd couple on a TV theme song Thursday,

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Matt in Milwaukee. You're on the couple Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (17:49):
Matt?
Speaker 8 (17:49):
Hey, Hey Rob, this is rat life long fan and
also a lifelong fan of the Vikings. And you are right.
I did not want to see that guy in a
Viking uniform after those last two games. I can speak
from everybody that's lived in Minnesota or is a Laking fan.
He is a choker and he is not the guy.
See Sammy Sammy d As you will see. He chokes
(18:13):
under pressure. He got so bad that he froze up.
And what he does each time is he freezes. Stutter steps,
stutter steps, stutter steps, and he can't even throw the
ball out of bounce.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
I'm gonna tell you this, And that's that's why. And
and and I believe that I appreciate the call to
because in that Lions game, as I brought up, and
you know that you watched it, they were in the
red zone. It wasn't like they weren't there. He couldn't
get them any touchdowns. And then the playoff game was
really bad too. And that's why I think, you know
(18:43):
you could have a bad game. I'm not saying, but
but people look at you and and no circumstances to
see how you respond.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
That's all.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
That's a big I don't disagree. That's a big game
that I didn't play it horribly. Last time he had
four interceptions. Somehow they almost had a neurice still winning.
They lost ninetmember that one. Yeah, but but uh, this
has been a way for him more turnovers than the bakery.
Sorry about you keep getting how many turnovers do the baker?
Have you always telling me that at least a baker's doesn't.
I'm that's thirteen the last I had a turnover, by
(19:13):
the way.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Apple turn over in my faith, Oh my god, are
you Apple turnovers with the vanilla frosting on top?
Speaker 4 (19:20):
That's when I put on we've lost him. That's when
I put lost him till Monday after the super Bowl.
It's around you already because the joy. And let me
tell you the difference in your eyes when you're locked
in after the super Bowl. I could have said apple
turnovers over the ice cream? You know, Hey, no, I'm
locked in right now. Your eyes glazed over and got
so excited.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Oh god, isn't the ice cream still in the freezing
I'm taking that tonight.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
You keep forget. Don't let me walk out of.
Speaker 9 (19:44):
Here without And you had midday milkshakes to it.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
You've been on ail.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
That's because a half priced that's the I'm meeting them
all right, A chili, Tim and Atlanta's chili?
Speaker 3 (19:56):
What's up my man? Okay?
Speaker 4 (20:05):
You know what, I know why you like the Mexic
because even though despite it all all the issues and challenges,
he was still a man of God.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
That's why you liked him.
Speaker 10 (20:11):
Oh yeah, yeah, definitely say.
Speaker 8 (20:13):
I know what it is, bro uh Kelly.
Speaker 10 (20:17):
Have you seen Tim Donald the last couple of weeks?
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Now, he ain't looked good. I ain't got to want
an argument from me.
Speaker 10 (20:23):
So here's the thing. First two things. First of all,
it seems like the Rams and Chimay gives him problems.
So you enter into the division with the team that
gives you the most problems that you can't really beat him.
And you know, like you said, it's a tough division
because San Francisco without McCaffrey and Bosa Tana, they're still
only a game behind. So when those guys come back, it's.
Speaker 8 (20:45):
Gonna be tougher.
Speaker 10 (20:45):
And then number two, what does the racehorse do me?
If he's fast out the gate and he's flounders that
they man that is Sam Donald. He's a fast he
might come out of the gate started right the race,
he sounders man. And that's what gets you because it
just seems like every year when the when they when
they you know, didn't get the most important that's when
(21:09):
he founded. And you've seen enough tape on it, you know,
to know that it is sometimes two, I hear you
on that.
Speaker 4 (21:15):
I'm not I told you, I'm not acting like he's
one of those ones, you know, a top five, six,
seven guy. But let me ask you this, Number one,
do you believe the Vikings would rather have him this
year than JJ? And then number two, the only thing
I can do is keep getting cracks at it. And
if I got a guy all of a sudden, now
that's found a way to be fourteen and three, whatever
gonna end up being this season might be, you know,
fourteen and three again or maybe four.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
But if that was not, got to keep getting cracked.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
I'm saying, but if that was the case, Jared Golf
would still be with the Rams.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
No, they gotta keep saying that they got Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
Stafford was that never want a playoff game?
Speaker 4 (21:49):
They got Everybody universally know Matthew Stafford is better than Jared.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Why not give him another shot? Wouldn't you take it
to the Super Bowl. No, that's not it. That's not it.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
If I give you Girl on the Street, or I
can give you halle Berry And how many many when
you go with interceptions today?
Speaker 3 (22:05):
How you don't know we're hearing.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
The interceptions that Matthew Stafford throwing the Super Bowl. You know,
I don't remember he tore too Okay, but what does
that mean. I'm just telling you, like it ain't like
it ain't like he was like all world or he was.
Speaker 4 (22:19):
Than Jared I'm saying, Jim, you know what I'm saying.
Say he was a return of John Hellway. Thanks for
the call. One more Ari in Miami. You're on the
couple Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
What's up? What's up?
Speaker 8 (22:33):
We're here in the worm Miami.
Speaker 10 (22:35):
But I wanted to say that we'd be the Dolphins
fans would be very happy to have Sam bardoled.
Speaker 8 (22:42):
At least we have a chance.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
All right, I hear you.
Speaker 10 (22:47):
But we got a chance with Sam Garnold. You've got
you have a chance. Maybe he'll be in the playoffs
and maybe he'll play better than last year.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
I don't know the Dolphins weren't in the playoffs last
year or not? What am I missing? Were they in
the playoffs, sure or not.
Speaker 10 (23:01):
No, But you were saying whether you'd rather have Sam
Garnald If you're on board with Sam Gardald.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
No, I'm talking about him to win you the big
game is that.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
That's what he's fighting against.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Now, they just scored a touchdown, he throwing a little
dump off and a guy rode round sixty yards. I'm
not knocking it. He's gonna get credit for all that,
but that's what the play was. All I'm saying, Ari
is he has to have a big game in one
of these big games for people not to look and
go there's a reason he's been on four teams in
the last five years. Not seriously, boy, I'm not this
(23:32):
student that he needs to win a big one. But
shoot thirty one games, he's twenty five and six.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
No, he's owing two in those thirty one games.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
Though he is thirty twenty five and six, And do
you understand what I'm saying, he's owing two in those thirty.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
One second we got Colline skids on the other side
of sier Clark. At some point, you gotta win a
big game, that's all. But he's just not resurrected his
career like he was with the Jets and the Panthers.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Let Monty do her update, please.
Speaker 11 (23:57):
Yeah, all night, Let's check in on this Thursday night football.
Kicking off Week sixteen of the NFL. Zach sharpenay with
a four yard rushing touchdown, putting the Seahawks on the
scoreboard first at home against the Rams.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
So it's seven zero about Tom. They couldn't get a
touchdown against the Colts.
Speaker 11 (24:15):
They still won though, I know.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (24:19):
Sam Donold three of three for fifty five yards. The
Rams on their opening drive went for it on fourth down,
did not get it. Matthew Stafford as one of two
for three yards, but Kyron Williams has already seven carries
for twenty five yards for LA. Other NFL news, Jack
Wars and wide receiver Jacoby Myers of f recent agreement
on a three year, sixty million dollar extension. Cold quarterback
(24:40):
Anthony Richardson returned to practice today after missing the last
two months due to an eye injury, but Richardson will
not be octive for Monday night's game against the forty
nine ers. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to practice
day after going home or remaining home yesterday because of
the flu. The Packers have listed running back Josh Jacobs
and wide receiver Christian Watson as questionable for Saturday's game
(25:01):
at Chicago, and the Bears have officially ruled out wide
receivers Roma Dunz and Luther Burden. In the NBA right now,
the Pacers are leading the next seventy two to sixty
six halfway through the third quarter, just like the Hawks
and the Hornets, where the Hornets are up ninety six.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
To eighty at the half.
Speaker 11 (25:17):
The Heat lead the Nets on the road fifty four
to forty nine. Late in the first quarter, the Clippers
are keeping it up with the Thunder twenty six to
twenty four. Clippers are up late in the first quarter
Spurs over the Wizards thirty to twenty five. Also late
in the first Raptors leading the Bucks twenty eight to
twenty one. When it comes to the NHL couple scores
(25:37):
for you, the Canadians are now leading the Blackhawks two
to one with about three minutes to go in the
second period. Late in the second period, the Oilers and
the Bruins are tied at one apiece. The Kings have
lost four in a row and right now they're tied
against the lightning at one apiece halfway through the second period.
Capitals over the maple leaves right now to zero late
in the second period.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
All right, last, thank you appreciate it, Oco, Rob and
Kelvin on ATV Things on Thursday and right now, as
we do on all the Thursdays during college football season,
we are time.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
It is time for college kids. This time with see
Er Clark.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
It's time for the college kids here on the odd
col A. Look at this week's college football through the
eyes of the young inexperience. They swear they know college ball.
Take yeah, right, fundamentals are going to show up, are there?
Take sophomore at her or graduation worth it? Rob and
(26:32):
Calvin book aside, bring them off.
Speaker 9 (26:34):
Let's do it now as we try to expand our
horizon on this Fox Sports radio platform and we try
to be worldly gentlemen and go into every aspect of
sports there is. We can't talk college football without the
actual inside of somebody like Sierra herself, who is the
host of the Sect Trebeck hearing some tea that there
could be a new podcast episode tonight, Sierah, tell me
(26:55):
what's up.
Speaker 6 (26:57):
Yeah, So if you subscribe to us on YouTube. He
unfiltered my show. It's called SECC where we still the
tea from across the Southeastern Conference. But you got a
new episode tonight where talk to Taylor McGregor from ESPN,
the reporter for the Miami Texas A and M game.
We talked about sports media and college football and the
playoffs are coming up this weekend.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
All right, all you've got a full play Yeah, very nice.
Speaker 9 (27:19):
Well, if you're new to this segment, we bring on
experts like Sierra to basically educate the likes of Rob Parker,
whom I guess he's a teacher at USC. I'm still
trying to figure that out. And Kelvin Washington.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Has Alex I know, I've never been invited. Yeah, I
don't know. He might just be saying he there. I
don't know. We ain't saying to see.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
They just they're just jealous because I'm a college.
Speaker 4 (27:40):
The only reason why we know it because he has
seven colleges.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
Uh embroidered a.
Speaker 9 (27:44):
Yeah, Jay singles Swider on the back too, like a
world tour, but it's all the colleges. Now, Sierra has
three hot sakes. We're gonna go through them real quickly,
and she's gonna tell us exactly why. So Sierra's first take,
she thought that it was absolute whiny behavior for not
Tre Dame to sit out of their bowl game because
bowls still matter. Tell us whyse here?
Speaker 10 (28:04):
Well?
Speaker 6 (28:04):
First off, Notre Dame played in a real conference, they
would be in the College Football playoffs because the ACC
was crappy this year, and the Notre Dame plays in
the ACC when it comes to their other sports. But
I just think it's ridiculous because it teaches people to
pout and not want to play. I understand if you're
an NFL bound and you want to sit out because
you want to stay healthy, I completely get that. But
(28:25):
you get extra practices if you play in the bowl game,
and it's an opportunity to get those reaps in, to
get those younger guys to play, and for those seniors
who probably aren't going to the NFL of a majority
of them, for them to put on that helmet one
more time, and of course for fans to watch their
team play again in a different environment against the team
they might normally play. The Notre Dame win better games
(28:45):
and don't lose to Miami and Texas A and m
and maybe you might be in the playoffs, but just
play your bowl games.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Hey, Sierra, you're graduating, not Ali, congratulations. I mean, what
are we doing with teaching kids? If it doesn't go
your way, don't do it. Complain And you mentioned it.
They have twenty seven other sports that are in the ACC.
Twenty seven other sports that are in there, So what
football can't do it. I understand his big money is
Payday and all that, but that's part of the that's
(29:11):
the decision you make. You got to also accept some
of the repercussions of it. So I'm with you. They
wanted too much go beat up on another team, take
it out on somebody in a bowl game.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
I can I say sophomoric back to back a minute.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
So Tulane and James Madison have to be a part
of the college football man, Yeah, you're telling me. And
Notre Dame that travels very well, it's a huge Canada
and also has their own TV deal with NBC. That's
the school you're leaving out. I'm sorry, I'm not buying
this here.
Speaker 5 (29:43):
Wow, it is the odd couple.
Speaker 9 (29:46):
Rob Parker Kelvin Washington, the great host of the Sect
podcast here at Clark and her second hot take, she
says there needs to be transfer limits.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
Sierra Selawi.
Speaker 6 (29:57):
The point I'm playing sports in college is to go
to college and graduate pay for your education. I understand
these players have NFL aspirations and whatnot, but the majority
of them are not going to have long careers. Why
are you switching schools every year? I think that's absolutely ridiculous.
How these credits are not transferring over. I know that
(30:18):
for a fact. And when you years and years, when
you are done with the sport, what school are you
coming back to? Because you went to three of them?
I think two.
Speaker 10 (30:27):
I think you should be able.
Speaker 6 (30:28):
To transfer once and grad transfers should be fine. But yeah,
you should be able to transfer once. Because there are
players who are at a different school every single year.
It's gotten out of hand.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
For me. You are absolutely graduating. I say, congratulated, I
appreciate you graduate.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
Last time I had you solved more many times.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:47):
Because the thing about it is part of it is
we start.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
To hear he has a soft spot for you all
last week.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
Your reason why is so because it gets confusing and
it also to me again, it's the lesson of what
happens oh Man, I thought I was gonna start. I'm
mad now I'm leaving. Oh I thought like nobody wants
to work for it. It used to be if you were
at Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, and if you had to work,
you're to get your way up to the second, you know,
starting cornerback or receiver. You did it, and you earned it,
and you enjoyed the last year or two of it.
(31:16):
Now these kids, if it didn't go their way, I'm out,
I'm leaving, I'm transferrem going somewhere else. And a lot
of times here, as you know, they end up in
worse situations, smaller schools not doing well. They ends up
hurting them in the long run, even professionally because they
end up going to two, three, four different schools and
they don't really excel.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
Like Jalen hurts and hurt him.
Speaker 4 (31:35):
He only transferred O and he's and he's just saying
he transferred and made it to the NFL.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
And this is again, Sierra, your sophomore.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
What is the limit on where coaches can lead programs
and go to other schools?
Speaker 3 (31:51):
You gotta is there a limit there? And number two?
All right? But a number two? Is it the kids
transferring or that.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Other schools to take them, and if it was frowned upon,
the other school could say we're not interested, right because
you've already transferred.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
But they gladly take the players.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
So you can't blame the players because it's available to themse.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
Why were changing the rules right here?
Speaker 5 (32:16):
Oh wow, get out of the way, Rob Parker.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
I'm not playing okay here. That's because he went to
nine schools.
Speaker 4 (32:22):
So here's what it Didginia Tech University publish Southern New Hampshire, Connecticut.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
Why WHYU Columbia don't leave out your college?
Speaker 5 (32:32):
That's right, that's right. College Kids.
Speaker 9 (32:33):
With Sierra Clark the Sect Podcast and the last take
of the night, Gentlemen, she says having two G five
teams in the college football playoffs is crazy.
Speaker 5 (32:42):
Sierra tell us, why Yeah.
Speaker 6 (32:44):
We talked about Notre Dame earlier on this show, and
I think that they should have been in the playoffs
because they're one of the stronger teams. They're better than
JMU and Tulaane, and plus we already saw Tulane and
Ole Miss play this year. If we're gonna let in
one G they've got to prove themselves. They've got to
have at least beaten the power for team and they
(33:05):
can't the highest rank conference champion thing. It's crazy, JM.
You play No. One this year and that JMU Organ
game is going to be an obsolete snoosfest. It's not
good for ratings and the teams don't have a chance
of making it. They're not going to win a national title.
This isn't basketball where there's a Cinderella football. They're going
to get the crappy out of them. So I just
don't see the points.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
Well, distegate your first point. This one you're graduating.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
I say, congratulations. We were so down on Notre Dame
but for belly aching, and now you're.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Telling me that the two schools that were belly aching
about don't belong there.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
So that one hurts you. But you're right on this case. Simple, Yeah,
you're right.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
I mean, it's cute and it's fun, and basketball is
a different It's only five people in the court. You
got to shot at least these big grown dudes. You
ain't got no shot a few of these other schools.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
So I'm with you.
Speaker 4 (33:54):
Just give us, just get to what we all want,
These bigger schools get to it. Make the Fun Games
Fun Sierah, thank you so much. Next way, check out
our podcast. It sounds like it's loaded.
Speaker 6 (34:03):

Speaker 4 (34:06):

You never been a black barbershop?
Speaker 1 (37:07):
I mean no, I go to salon. Let me tell
you something being in the barbershop business. Yes, you have
to cut everybody's hair. I know that's what people will
be about.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
You know that.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Yes, So when my nephew got his license, he had
to actually for his final haircut, he had to cut
a white guy's hair in order to pass. Yeah, because
you can't discriminate, like somebody come in, I don't know
how to cut your No.
Speaker 12 (37:32):
By the way, even I feel like I got like,
I think they could deal with this.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
Man. You professional, you're supposed to know how to deal
with you. Come out of there. You're gonna be walking around,
you gonna be shaved.
Speaker 5 (37:46):
I want to get lines through my head and I
want to get.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
Like the design they tie you up. You're gonna walk
out of the talk.
Speaker 5 (37:52):

Speaker 3 (38:02):
Yeah, go ahead, what's your shop?
Speaker 12 (38:03):
Here we go, SpongeBob the movie coming out tonight. You'll
be able to watch it across the street if you
want to watch it. Rob, But this makes me think, guys, cartoons,
there's movies all around. They're turning them. I remember two
weeks ago they did a Rugrats movie. A couple months
ago they did some other movie. Cartoons are getting turned
into movies all the time. Lazy, lazy, well, Rob. I
(38:26):
was about to say, maybe not cartoons for you. Maybe
it was like a picture book or something.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
We'll see.
Speaker 5 (38:32):
I was gonna ask you, guys.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
You know that teacher position we're talking about. Oh yeah,
again he's dead, dude.
Speaker 5 (38:39):
But it leads you to this question.
Speaker 12 (38:41):
Okay, here we go, what cartoon or picture book would
you want to get turned into a movie?
Speaker 5 (38:48):
Calvin, we gotta let this.
Speaker 1 (38:54):
SpongeBob square past.
Speaker 4 (38:58):
SpongeBob Square I'm thinking, shap like a fish, SpongeBob Square,
SpongeBob square pants, SpongeBob square pants, SpongeBob square pants, SpongeBob SquarePants.
Speaker 5 (39:18):
Now, Rob, laugh about your mouth covered?
Speaker 3 (39:19):
I had to cover because they did all like the ones.
Speaker 4 (39:28):
I grew up like he man, became one Transformers became one.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
Was there a Thundercat movie? I don't think maybe, yeah,
I forgot your little ye.
Speaker 4 (39:38):
Maybe that's the answer, Thundercat, because all the ones I
I I enjoy growing up have become movies.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
So maybe there's ThunderCats. I don't know that. Yeah, ThunderCats
was kind of lit.
Speaker 11 (39:47):
Yeah, all of all of what I would say has
been made in.
Speaker 3 (39:52):
Oh so good.
Speaker 5 (39:53):
Bob's Burgers already has a movie.
Speaker 4 (39:55):
Yeah, I can't think of another hit. This is a
tune that I liked that did not become a movie.
Speaker 3 (40:01):
Yeah, what can you think? It's a move?
Speaker 5 (40:03):
Easy? I want fairly on parents movie.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
That's a good one. That's a good one. Did they
do a hater an old movie? No? I don't know,
had to have one. No, I don't think he had
a movie.
Speaker 5 (40:13):
They didn't have a movie.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
They did not, they did not.
Speaker 5 (40:16):
I really want to at an Eddie movie.
Speaker 12 (40:18):
I don't know if that's if you guys are maybe
too old. Yeah, yeah, with the plank that was so good.
Speaker 9 (40:24):
I think is there any other big cartoon like a
forty Yeah.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
Pop Eye?
Speaker 5 (40:31):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
Oh yeah, well, Robin Recipe, that was terrible.
Speaker 12 (40:36):
I'm sorry, Robin Ralph Bakshi, the old cartoon guy.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
I feel like something Route by Rob don't know. How
do you know that Ralph faction?
Speaker 5 (40:44):
You should know what that is.
Speaker 12 (40:45):
I can't really say the movie on the air, but
I'll tell you guys about it.
Speaker 5 (40:49):
I feel like Popeye was an addict and they just
hit it with spinach.
Speaker 3 (40:52):
You know what I mean. He might have been hitting them.
Speaker 9 (40:53):
I don't know, man, he might have been off saying
he was off the the green.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
But but olive oil was skinny. I mean, who wants
she was off that olive oil
