saw you flinch when I said that.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Oh I got nothing to say. I love them, Hey,
love it.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
All you want is for people to have an opinion
about you, good or bad.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
When they don't talk about you, yes, and they don't
put you out there, that means that you have not
moved the needle whatsoever.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
So always remember that.

Speaker 5 (01:39):
No, I love the people. Man, it's been a blast
told you. I'm out in Cleveland, people running up. Oh man,
I love the show man you Rob crazy, love what
y'all talking. I love her y'all be going at it.
So no, it's all good, brother, trust.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Me, No, no doubt so. So rob G you have
numbers for us or something you want to tell me?

Speaker 4 (01:58):
Numbers?

Speaker 6 (01:59):
Great setup there, Rob, I appreciate it. I do have
numbers for you, and that is because.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
I had set you up. But you don't like it.
You know, I don't know what to do. I'm still struggling.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
All you do deliver Froe the tables. You never worked
in the back of a kitchen. I didn't say that,
that's kind of what you said. Actually I did say
that because they're always talking smack, Robs. You ain't built
for this. You ain't got calluses on your hand. Rob.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
You ever work at ups, throwing them packages and bloading
up the trucks.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
But I did that.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
By the way, I worked at UPS too.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
I did man up Robgi.

Speaker 6 (02:34):
Fun fact, I'm trying to lay some concrete on the
side of my house and so we had to dig
up a hole over the weekend. When I tell you,
I am still sore from Sunday, Man, what tells you
I'm really not built for this anymore?

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Talking to you ain't built. Just go ahead and get
your job at Walmart greeting people as the old person Costco, Costco,
cost Costco. You're right my back.

Speaker 6 (02:52):
But anyways, you guys talked about it. We have some
big numbers coming in out of the NFL and that
is because, according two viewership numbers that the NFL released
on Wednesday, the Cleveland Browns first preseason game, aka the
debut of Shador Sanders, was the NFL's NFL Networks most

(03:14):
watch preseason contest since twenty fifteen, all right two point
two million viewers. According to Revolt, that debut was the
number one program on Friday Night across both cable and
broadcast television.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
Big numbers, numbers.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
And what those numbers, rob and what to me what
we have seen before? And by before I mean from
two from a couple different people from Shador and Joe Flacco,
and if you want to add Kenny Pickett now Dylan Gabriel.
We don't really know much about it. He's just kind
of here, you know, he hasn't really had a chance,
so I'll put him. I reserved for him on the side.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Right now.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
I'm really looking at this, and I mean this sincerely.
This ain't radio, This ain't trying to be funny.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
This ain't saying make sure make sure you don't lose
your credibility here.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
I'm Kim legitimately be Kiff, not understanding why you don't
run with Shador Sanders.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Here's why.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
This is the Browns who have done nothing with quarterbacks
for the last thirty forty years.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
In fact, let me read you something, Timkin.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Not true. Baker Mayfield one beat the Steels in the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
I'm glad you said. Baker Mayfield the guy that got
rid of I Digress. When they got it right, they
got it wrong and let him go. Cole McCoy, Brandon Whedon,
Jason Campbell, Brian Hoyer, Josh McCown, Cody Kessler.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
Baker Mayfield was actually solid to good for them. Let
him go.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
Jakobe Brissett, Jameis Winston. We know he's just a turnover
weight to happen. My point is, and they, oh, I
left out one guy, the guy you actually decided to
do something no one else in the history, including Brett Farr,
Joe Montana, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, no nobody got two
hundred and thirty guaranteed Deshaun Watson did from who the Browns.
The Browns need to do exactly what they think they're

(05:06):
gonna do and do the opposite, and that is they
need to give Shader a chance. And I mean this sincerely,
Joe Flacco. We know what Joe Flacco is. He's probably
the first or second best breaking in the case of
emergency in the NFL. Whether it's Kirk Cousins, yo cousin,
not my cousin, whether it's him, I know what I got.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
He's been that he is.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
He's perfectly fine as a backup, you know what, he is,
very very good, serviceable backup. But for once, why don't
you try to find your guy and build up your guy.
Why don't you give you a chance and see if
he isn't good he's not. You got Dylan Gabriel and
you got Kevin Pickett, Kenny Pickett to go with and
to me and I mean this, start to build something,

(05:50):
do something. Joe Flacco's gonna win you seven games, and
you're gonna be right back here trying to get a quarterback,
trying to figure it out should do is clearly selling out.
He's at the number two jersey. He's why people are watching,
people are gonna go to the games. And he also
happens to be a pretty solid quarterback from what we've
seen thus far.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
And if he isn't, fine, Dylan Gabriel get in there.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
But to me, why go And I mean this, why
go to Joe flaccol when it's just a recyclable I
know what it is. He's two years removed from the
last time he was good with us. Now he's two
years older. We let him go when he won a
playoff game. Now we want him back, And I genuinely
don't understand. Yes, well, he seems to be the better option,
but you're gonna win seven eight games, Max, why not

(06:34):
go start to develop, build for your future and have
something moving forward that also is a hot ticket item
that's selling jerseys that could sell out the freaking stadium.
To me, I genuinely don't get to Joe Flacco. You
know what that is. You've been there before, Rob, you
know exactly what that is.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
What first got to staff games.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Okay, obviously you don't know anything about Cleveland Browns football
because they sell out. They don't have any empty seats.
Whether should Door is the quarterback or not. That's what
they love that team and they've been showing up. So
it ain't about selling tickets or or the TV rating
for the Browns games. No, no, no, I'm just trying to say, like,

(07:14):
like none of that factors in. People are gonna watch
the games on Sunday during the season. People are gonna
go to Brown's games. They've been bad, they haven't won anything,
and people still when.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
They lost the team. No, no, that's not what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
And you can't guarantee me that Shaudor is going to
be better. You don't know that. That's in your that's
your emotions getting the best of you. But I'm saying,
I'm going to look at the coaches who are invested.
You're not invested in this. You're just a bystander who
is saying, yeah, this is a shiny new toy. Let's

(07:48):
just go put them. Just put them in. It can't
be any just put them in. The coach is invested,
that's his career. The general managers invested, that's his career.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
They're invested. I think it's.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Silly for guys like you and other people to just
absolutely think that these guys don't want to win, because
I don't believe that. I don't believe that they're not
putting Shador Sanders in because they don't want to win.
It doesn't make any sense. That's not the nature of
the game win. They watch them every day in practice,

(08:25):
they watched the film. They don't believe he's the starting quarterback.
What part don't you get?

Speaker 4 (08:31):
What's the only thing we've heard? No negative, we've heard
no no.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
It's before he even got there.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
I keep telling you if he was that guy you're
talking about what he did at Colorado.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
You don't think the Raiders need.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
A quarterback long term? Tom Brady's right there. There were
other teams the Steelers need a team. No, I'm telling
you about other teams that needed quarterbacks. And your ratings thing,
which is as weak as it gets, because Tim I
could give you ratings in twenty twelve, when Tim Tebow
was a quarterback, and guess what, they couldn't wait he

(09:07):
won a playoff game for the Broncos. And you know what,
they couldn't wait to get rid of him because they
knew that he wasn't a good quarterback. No, but that's
my poet. Who wanted more in college? Who want more
in college? Tim Tebow or Shador Sandy? No, let me,
I'm asking you a question.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
He won more? Okay?

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Who was a first round pick? Who was a first
round pick Tim Tebow?

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Who got their coach fired for moving up to go
pick Tim Tebow?

Speaker 3 (09:42):
That ultimately it cost him his job in Denver?

Speaker 4 (09:44):
Right?

Speaker 1 (09:45):
And my point to you, Yes, My point to you is,
I'm giving you exhibit A with this. The fans love him,
and the TV ratings and the selling of the jerseys.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
He sold a more Mets jersey than anybody.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
And guess what didn't make it to the major leagues
selling jerseys.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
And all that.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
That's that's window dress. That has nothing to do with
we thought was a tailback. Nobody thought Tim Tebow was
a quarterback. We all knew he was a half back, tailback,
tight end. Shaw, You're looking at your door is an
actual quarterback. And here's the part I'm saying, let's say
he sucks.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Let's find out why am I rolling out old Joe
Flacco that hasn't How do.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
You get your job in the NFL? How do you
get your job in the NFL?

Speaker 1 (10:29):
It's the only sport where you practice more than you play,
and you earn your keep, you earn your spot.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
They watch you more than you play.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
You practice ten times more than you play in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
So that's that's what they go off of.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
That's why people are all watching great things.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
No, no, no, no, that no, you have heard.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
And only see Did Patrick Mahons play in game one?
Did Patrick Mahons playing game one of the preseason? I
could go on. You gave this same argument for justin fields.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Try jumping different.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
If you're the Steelers, put just the fields out there,
and what he would not write?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
You would not right because he's not with the team.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
And here's your point. Should year old quarterback?

Speaker 1 (11:14):
And now the first thing they say the Jets, No, no,
I'm not And the Jets are like this dude can't
even move the offense.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
Did you read the stories about him? Can't throw the
ball consistently, and that's why this Dallas moved off of him.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
What I'm saying is, go see, maybe shoulder isn't great.
You know what Joe Flacco is. He's two years older
from the same guy that won you a playoff game
that you got rid of, so clearly you didn't want
him in now he's two years older.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
Didn't look great last year.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
No, no, no, your argument was about selling jerseys and
that's why that doesn't That doesn't mean anything.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Guy, that's when Aaron Rodgers. None of nobody cares about that.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
None of this makes sense.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Joe Jesco Fields is on his third team in three years.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
He's so good the guy that's the guy.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
You hit the wagon too.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
We're good in twenty twenty five? Why is that coaching?
General manager? We have Joe FLACKO. Here we go. Man,
you better start developing and building something and moving towards.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Nobody builds anything. That's not what they do because when
they were building.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
No, no, they don't. They don't do that anymore.

Speaker 7 (12:20):
For you.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Let me no, let me tell you ja Eron Rodgers
did Aaron Rodgers didn't play for three and a half years.
They don't build anymore. They put the quarterback in day one.
They don't build anything. And if you're not ready.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
They don't put you in. That's the point. If you're ready, anybody.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Else All those quarterbacks you mentioned got thrown in because
they think that their franchise quarterback.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
They don't believe your door in door won't get thrown in.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
He's still may because they're sitting there saying Kenny Picktt
ain't nothing, and Dylan Gabriel can be in this coming.
Maybe it's him, I don't. My point is it can't
be that you're selling me. Joe Flacco is the guy. Yes,
he's a proven veteran in the Super Bowl chat actfully,
but that can't be you moving forward.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
Joe Flacco won with an amazing defense.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Man, Peyton Manning, win a Super Bowl and late in
his career, yes, with it the world we now, okay, okay.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
I'm asking you. Did They didn't put Brock Brockwaller in there, right?
They put? They won the Super Bowl with an old quarterback,
did they not? That's my point.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
They did.

Speaker 5 (13:25):
Joe Flacco won a Super They didn't say no, let's
play brockoss Waller because he's younger and he and he
represents the future.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
No, they did not. They put the veteran in. They
did not put him in.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
Ever.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
Compare Peyton Manning to Joe Flacco. Peyton Manning is Peyton
Manning arguably the top five quarterback all time. Both they
both won Super Bowl that both earned respect. Joe was
a solid quarterback who had an amazing defense Ali Brad Johnson,
Ala Trent Dilford.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
He had one of the greatest Super Bowl runs. Go
look at the stats. Nobody.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
He had one of the ratest runs to a Super
Bowl any quarterback has ever.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
In the same name.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
My point is an old quarterback played and it ain't.
That's Joe flat you're talking about. I want to TV
waitings arguing Rogers.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
Since that makes I'll give you that. Okay, at least
he's Aaron Rodgers. Okay, I get it. That's crazy, Flaco.
That's what the Browns just say.

Speaker 5 (14:23):
No, we're gonna be stubborn and close our eyes because
we got Joe Flacco.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
All right? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox Bet again,
should should should? Should?

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Door Sanders star power, selling jerseys and the TV ratings
be enough for the Browns to make him the number
one quarterback or should they use common sense and knowledge
football knowledge and believe their eyes.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
We'll continue that compensation next to you? Is that loaded
you to high school with Joel?

Speaker 4 (14:53):
Was he in your graduating Not at all.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
It's just that I could be objective as someone who's covered.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
The lead wondering.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
So Joe Flacco is the guy.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
He's better than He's better than anybody else?

Speaker 4 (15:06):
Know that he is.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
I don't I do it? Yes he does. He has
a track record.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
It is the odd couple on a TV theme song
Thursday here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
And you know what you need to do, stick and stay.

Speaker 8 (15:17):
Especially if you're shaudor Sanders hater in the US of A.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (15:21):

Speaker 4 (15:46):
Turn upside down and I like to think and manager.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
Sit right there, I'll tell you how I became to
prince of a town called bel Air Fox Sports Radio.
It is the odd couple Rob Parker Kevin Washington on
a TV theme song Thursday, This will ride a little
bit and.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
It's right.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
For over forty years, tire rec has been helping customers
find the right tires for how, what and where they drive.
Shit fast and free back by Freewold has a protection
with convenient insulation options like mobile tire installation, tirereck dot com.
It is the way tire buying should be.

Speaker 5 (16:17):
We got Mike Sando coming up here in about five
or six minutes or so, covers the NFL for the
Athletic distributor of the annual Quarterback Tier Survey. A lot
of smoke, there, a lot of people feeling some type
of way about that.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
We'll get to that in just a moment.

Speaker 5 (16:29):
Right now, taking your phone calls, we're just talking about Shador.
My simple point was, listen, Joe Flacco, perfect great backup quarterback,
the exact guy you'd want, and also somebody you want
to help build with the young guys, so on and
so forth. I don't see what he has done that
just automatically make him the start, and why not give
Shadur a chance?

Speaker 4 (16:47):
If it doesn't work, you go to dealing Grabuel, you.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
Move on Rob Steadfast with Joe Montana aka Joe Flacco
apparently eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
So we got Darnell in Chicago. You're in the couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Darnell?

Speaker 6 (17:05):
Might not?

Speaker 7 (17:06):
I usually agree with you, but today I gotta roll
with Kelvin bro because I mean, what's the point man
Flack on forty years old?

Speaker 9 (17:14):
Man, they not gonna do nothing, Bro.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
They gotta roll.

Speaker 9 (17:16):
They got to roll to see what they do.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
That's what they said in Denver when Peyton Manning helped
him win the Super Bowl, Right, he's not talking about
that history.

Speaker 9 (17:23):
Come on, man, Joe Flack on Peyton Manning.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
Hey, I was what.

Speaker 10 (17:26):
I never in my life ever thought I'd watch a
Cleveland Brown's preseason game, and I did.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
But that's because you have You're invested as a fan,
and you got to understand that the coaching staff in
the front office, they don't operate like fans. You're a
fan of Shador Sanders, that's why you care.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
You're not being objective.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
You can't be objective about him because you just said
that there's no reason why you should be watching that
other than you're a fan of his.

Speaker 9 (17:56):
I get it, well, it was curiosity. Hey Rob, that's
the best point you made, honestly, But I'm not I'm
just I just want to see how it's gonna turn out.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
It's entertainment value.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
I'm not even a fan. I get it.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
But I'm saying you don't pick quarterbacks based on Jersey
sales and.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
TV Waight, Tim Tebow was that guy? Darnelle? Do you
remember Tim Tebow?

Speaker 4 (18:21):
We lose you. We might have hung up on Rob.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
I would give you a lot of other people, but you, y'all,
y'all cape, y'all caping from Joe Flacco is what I'm
not understanding.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
Light seven seven ninety nine.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
That's my main challenge, Rob.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Dion in Texas. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's upon?

Speaker 7 (18:38):
Hey, Rob? But nothing much? Kelvin?

Speaker 2 (18:40):
How you doing?

Speaker 10 (18:41):
Man?

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Welcome back?

Speaker 6 (18:42):
Man.

Speaker 7 (18:43):
It's a great show us very polarizing, and Rob your
your hunter career.

Speaker 9 (18:48):
Polarization does not mean you should be a starting quarterback.
But due this guy is, you know, Joe Flacco.

Speaker 7 (18:55):
I mean so I think give him a chance and
look when it comes to Cleveland, we expect them to
do the wrong. Team. They gave away.

Speaker 10 (19:02):
Baker, who was a top twelve quarterback right now that state.

Speaker 7 (19:06):
I know they they probably had him back. They made
the post a child of a guaranteed contract. Deshaun Watson. Wow,
that was a great decision and.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
So all right, so they should make another bad decision
and make make Shador Sanders the starting quarterback.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
Correct.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
But even though he was a fifth.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Round pick, because that battle to be beat in college? Dion,
who did he beat in college? Did he have a
winning record in college? I'm asking, I'm asking Dion answered
my questions?

Speaker 3 (19:32):
He beat in college?

Speaker 7 (19:33):
I wanted Jackson State. He didn't beat very many good talents.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Who did he beat in college?

Speaker 3 (19:38):
And major college football?

Speaker 4 (19:39):
Beat in college? He wanted?

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Joe Flacco won a Super Bowl. I'm asking, can I
hear Dion? Who did he beat in college? Who did
he beat in college?

Speaker 3 (19:49):
And what was the record?

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Overall?

Speaker 3 (19:52):
They have a winning record in college?

Speaker 7 (19:54):
He did not win very much at Colorado, but Caleb
Williams won the Hoisan Trophy. He don't look very good
now either, but you got to give him a chance
to let him play it on the field. Let improve it,
Joe FLACKO, Okay, you won a Super Bowl soon.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
What do they do? What do they have practice for?
What do they have practice for? Dion?

Speaker 7 (20:10):
I'm not asking you practice more than you play. I
got it, but let's play it out. Let's play it out.

Speaker 10 (20:16):
Let's give him a chance.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
Okay, all right?

Speaker 4 (20:19):
Thank you?

Speaker 3 (20:20):
Kevin.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
In Culver City, you're in the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up, Kevin, there's another guy waving the
pom poms go ahead all the time.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Talk to him, Kevin.

Speaker 9 (20:30):
Look, look, look, I called about the door before the draft,
and I told you I liked about him. The seventy
four percent completion percentage. He gets the ball out quick
like Brady, who he's learned from, and what I saw
on the table. I'm just talking about the tape. Speaking
of the tape, he has the Deacon dunk Tom Brady
to him, which means he doesn't have the biggest arm straight,
but he's learned to use that Deacon dunk and he's

(20:50):
getting that ball out quick. At Colorado, he's holding the
ball boll like Caleb Williams was as a rookie who
was getting sacked. It looks like you door corrected that,
and he's getting the ball out quick. That ball was
coming out great. He throws the beautifootball, and I like
you show a little bit of Patrick Mahomes mobility and
open field that smooth, not Lamar Jackson afterlicism, but smooth
enough to move the change to get a first down.
So if he balls out, he's got to be the guy.

(21:12):
And like I said before with Shador, if you look
at Mahomes, his father played Major League baseball. Sador's our
father played Majorague baseball. Obviously Hall of Fame football player.
If he didn't have that bravalla to him, and he
was like Mahomes, wo'n be saying, let this guy be
the franchise. But you know what, that's who he is.
He's got to be who is. But like I said,
if you want to keep playing, just keep balling. And

(21:32):
if he's balling, he's gonna stay on the field because
you know what they say in the NFL, those coaches
are coaching for their jobs. And if he's better than Flacco,
he's gonna be starting for the Browns and Joe Flacco.
You know, he's a stop gap. Let's just call it
what it is. He's not the franchise this guy can
be and if he keeps playing with.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
And that's that's the reason that tells you that they
don't believe it's Shador because you don't have a quarterback
there in place long term with somebody you think and
they still think their best oppert tunity to win this
season is Joe Flacco, not Shador. Sander that that's where
the NFL is now. It's not about five years from now.

(22:11):
It's not about hoping that Chador developed. It's not that's not.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
Where we are. It's an instant gratification league. And if
they and they.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Don't think six games, they don't think six games max.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
With Joe Flacco there, you go take that. Shad will
be starting at some point. I ain't worried about it.
Mike Sando covers the NFL for The Athletic and he
is distributed of that annual QB Tiers survey. A lot
of folks are talking about. We'll talk to him in
just a moment right now. Manti Blanios is gonna get
your set on what's trending.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Matech be sure to catch live editions of The Odd
Couple with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven
pm Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and
the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 5 (22:51):
You know what, Hey, hey, rob Gi, Mike Sandals. I
guess Mike you can listen. It is too Robgi. I'm
getting ready to go to Rob's alma mater and I'm
tearing down the press box.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
Ason as that get some I'm tearing down the press box, Rob. Oh,
they just giving out press boxes. Now.

Speaker 5 (23:05):
Hey, I'm spray painting graffiti or your press box. Now, Rob,
I've had enough.

Speaker 4 (23:10):
Today.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
How many how many people you know got a press box?

Speaker 5 (23:15):
It ain't about to be done right now because I'm
about to spray paint and tear it down.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
You better not spray paint my press box.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
Wow, pet Rodney can't get a statue with the Lakers.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
I just know. I'm just my god with the statues.
I'm just it's just ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
I'm so tired of you right now. Oh, so my
alma mater is giving me a press box, and oh
you know it's trading. We just you know, and they
but Pat Roddy can't get some statues. Boy, you're selfish.
But when they called me an Eastern Michigan.

Speaker 5 (23:43):
Wants to give me one. Can I get a press
box two? Can I all that?

Speaker 3 (23:49):
What you want? A press box?

Speaker 5 (23:50):
Yes? Can Eastern Michigan give me a press box two?
In twenty years.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
You gotta have the career, You gotta have this ructure.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
All right.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
Let's where it has been amazing thus far, amazing, all right,
Mike sandos our guess right now, Mike, I'm sorry you
had to help coming in in the middle of this, Mike.
He Mike said, covers the NFL for the Athletic distributor
of the annual QB Tears Survey that has everybody's panties
and a bunch Mike.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
What's up? Man? How you doing?

Speaker 3 (24:18):
What's up?

Speaker 10 (24:19):
Mike back? Hey, it's good to eva. You guys are
entertaining me, so you know, I could just sit there
and listen, but let's let's talk.

Speaker 5 (24:25):
That's what we do. And I'm fired us, Mike. I
had a few days off, some time off. I'm fired up.
I'm on his head all day, man, Mike.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
I just I get to Patrick Mahomes and his career
and if he would go into the Hall of Fame tomorrow,
and I get all that, But the last two years.
What I've watched the dinking and the dunking and all
of the interceptions and the five yard passes. I just
I don't think he's played as a Tier one quarterback,

(24:54):
especially last year. His team went fifteen and two when
he got zero first place vo for MVP and a
quarterback league, which tells you people looked at his quarterback
play and.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Didn't think he had a lot to do with them winning.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
What do you make of the Patrick Mahomes and just
how he played last year?

Speaker 10 (25:14):
Yeah, I mean the stat production has not been there
like it was before. So at the same time, I
think every year they end in the AFCY Championship Game
or the Super Bowl, and I think they were eleven
and zero and one score games, which tells you they
were in a bunch of close games because they're not
producing like they used to. But he's still the guy
at the end that you fear to see the most
because he wins those games. They won seventeen in a

(25:36):
row one score games, so that's the quarterback finished in
the games. I agree it's looked harder. I think the
gap in Tier one has closed, But as one of
the voters said, he's kind of in the Brady seat
right now, you know, and Brady could have a great
stat year or not a great stat year, but no
one was reassessing if he was in Tier one. And
I think that's where Mahomes is. I think for them,

(25:57):
for that conversation that you're having to take, I think
it would have to be the stats not being as
good and they don't win the division or and they're
one and done in the playoffs and now you're like, okay,
But the fact they keep going there at the end
to the final game anyway, you know, sort of keeps
him up there.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
But let me, Mike, let me ask you this real quick.
The no first place vote for MVP?

Speaker 1 (26:21):
Seriously, if he's that guy who makes the plays at
the end and helps them win the one score games,
right and they're fifteen to two and they make another
run and I know it's the regular season, but still
fifteen and two, how in the world did people not
look at him in a quarterback league and say he's
the most valuable because he always wins the game at
the end.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
That's the part that I can't let go.

Speaker 10 (26:45):
But I think it's because we're in a fantasy football
world for sure, And I mean Dak Prescott was second
in MVP voting two years ago, should be the closer
higher up. You know, I don't know Mark Moseley won
the MVP. He was a kicker one time, you know.
I mean, we can't is the MVP, which was totally
thought last year when Lamar should have won it in
my opinion easily Ran easily should have won it running away.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
You know.

Speaker 10 (27:12):
Yeah, So I mean that's a nice this. No one
in the league is seeing it that way, you know.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
No, no, no, I'm different. I'll agree to that. Okay,
he make it now now. Of course, Kelvin wants to
waives Palm Pom for Shador, so let me hear this.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
No, I don't want to talk about Shador. I ain't up.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
You want to make yours for Joe Flacco. Of all people,
Jalen Hurts is who I want to talk about. Jalen
Hurts is in this Tier two. He's at ninth right now.
He's tied for ninth with c. J. Stroud and Jalen Hurts.
Jalen Hurts may be looking at you and saying, why me,
Why are people voting me here?

Speaker 4 (27:48):
When all I've done is go to two Super Bowls.
I'll played your QB one and both of them, and
yet here I am, why is that? And I just
want to hear what voters said about that.

Speaker 10 (27:59):
Yeah, so I think the reason is because you know,
the Eagles were better off kind of diminishing his role
in the offense.

Speaker 4 (28:07):
Right.

Speaker 10 (28:07):
I don't think anyone's clamoring for the Eagles to open
it up and play two thousand and seven Patriots football
and have him throw it all over the yard, which,
by the way, he has the best offensive run in
the league, and those two really good wide receivers. No
one thinks that's the best course for them to take.
Everybody thinks this is pretty good. Hand it off, be
part of the run game, make some plays when.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
You have to.

Speaker 10 (28:27):
But if we have to drop back and pass a
bunch during the game, it's not going to look the
same as it does with some of those guys in
Tier one or some of those guys even ahead of
him in Tier two. Whether you think that's fair or not,
I think that's where it's coming from.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
But I think it's totally unfair because all I heard
before the Super Bowl Mike was was, well, stop sa
Quon and you'll beat the Eagles, cause you know, Jalen hurts, can't, can't, can't,
can't win the game for you. I heard all these
former players get on and this is all they said.
That was the game plan, and of course had minus

(29:01):
forty yards or whatever it was, and they still won easily.
He also outplayed Patrick Mahomes throwing the football, and the
other Super Bowl he lost had that big fumble, but
outplayed him there.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
I don't know what people are watching to think that
he can't play.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
Or that it's because they run the ball, or it's
it's that he hasn't made those plays. Because the Super Bowl,
to me, should have opened some people's eyes.

Speaker 10 (29:25):
So we just had a conversation about how Patrick Mahomes
should not be Tier one because he does not have
MVP stats. Jalen's hurt stats look like this. Eighteen touchdowns,
five Interceptionslatcher. That's like a two thousand and six quarterback.
Rightwel wait a.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Minute, but Patrick Mahomes and Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers
has the same and Aaron Rodgers is what a Tier
four that the same? Go look at this, thats same stats,
but Aaron Rodgers thirtier the same stats.

Speaker 10 (29:59):
Yeah, yeah, understand you can't use the stats. I mean,
I'm just tricklipping the stats back around because you were
using them for Mahomes. I don't think the stats are
always a great way to go, uh, you know, on it.
But certainly for Jalen Hurts, he wouldn't have what you
were calling tier one stats necessarily. And and look, you
said Mahomes doesn't need it, but I think Mahomes, I

(30:20):
think Mahomes is in just a different category and so uh,
you know, especially with the end of the game stuff.
Now we'll see if his team can't advance anymore, then
I think it'll come back on it. But no one's
seeing it that way.

Speaker 5 (30:35):
You know what I find interesting on this one right here,
Mike Sando covered the NFL, the Athletic. We're talking about
the distributor of the annual QB Tiers survey that we have.
I find interesting that we've been sitting up here to
arguing Rob and I over Joe Flacco.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Who is the thirty first ranked quarterback. I just want
to talk about.

Speaker 10 (30:53):
Yeah, yeah, let's talk about Flacco. You know, it's exciting,
isn't It isn't exciting?

Speaker 5 (30:58):
And that's why Mike I'm moving on, so don't want
to talk about anymore. Let me ask you, but wait
a minute, So where should do? Where's should do?

Speaker 3 (31:05):
Ranked in that list you have?

Speaker 10 (31:08):
And no rookies on the list, No rookies on.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
The no rookies on the list. Where is where should
door on winning?

Speaker 3 (31:15):
Mike? Where's should do on winning a super Bowl? He's
not on that list?

Speaker 4 (31:19):
Where we should do?

Speaker 3 (31:20):
On having a winning record in college? He's not on
that list either.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
First, let's move on.

Speaker 10 (31:25):
So my best can't even decipher that. I couldn't even
understand that, Becau, who's two guys talking at the same time.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
Yeah, don't worry about it, Mike, don't worry about it.
Uh So, let me get you to this. Who's a
tier three guy, a Tier four guy that you're saying
could break out? I'm looking at somebody like maybe a
bow Knicks could jump up a little bit. You got
they got a met You guys have a time for
twentieth right now. But that's somebody I'm watching. Is there
somebody else you're saying who they can have a breakout season?

Speaker 10 (31:53):
So in tier three? I totally agree bo Nick's great situation.
Sean Payton loves him, and so they're gonna get the
most out of him. I think here for what about
Michael Pennix. To me, he showed some good things. I
liked him in college and just off of three starts,
he got eleven of the fifty people put him in
Tier three, which is pretty good. So I'm pretty optimistic

(32:13):
on him. And obviously almost you know. I mean, I
think we have to see a little bit from McCarthy.
JJ McCarthy. I think he's in a good situation with Hey,
he's getting to play indoors, he's got O'Connell, he's got
Justin Jefferson. They put money in their offensive line. But
I haven't seen anything, and I've always seen as him
not play for the season, get hurt, you know, and

(32:36):
have them probably have a tough internal discussion about what
to do with Darnold. They sorted with Rogers. So I'm
going to wait to see a McCarthy. But I think
Pennix showed something a little bit last year, so he
might be somebody who can make a job.

Speaker 4 (32:49):
Well, well, we'll have to wait and see. Mike. We
appreciate him. Mike Sandel, thank you so much for your time.

Speaker 10 (32:54):
Thank you, guys, get back to you guys, Get back
to your major discussions there.

stumping a bump shop You know that. Ain't nobody You
talk about whoever, whatever whatever you want to in the boss.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
Up, you know it's shop talk.

Speaker 6 (34:42):
That's right, it's shop talk. Here on the couple secment,
we talk about something outside of the world is sports,
and this week's topic comes to us from social media.
There was a viral trend going around for about a
week on Twitter or x whatever you call it, listing
things that men just cannot do that men cannot do X,
Y and Z. Them was like wave with two hands.
One of them is just so.

Speaker 12 (35:03):
Many of the things have a twin with being like
they better not do yes, they better not got you.

Speaker 6 (35:10):
And one of them that hit close to home was
men cannot have a birthday week. And I say that
because my birthday is on Monday and I've been having
myself week, so I'm a little upset about that. So
Number one, here's the two par question. Number one, am
I less of a man for celebrating a birthday week?

Speaker 3 (35:27):
And number two?

Speaker 6 (35:28):
Is there anything else you would like to add to
the list of things that men just cannot do?

Speaker 4 (35:35):
Yes? And yes you can't have a birthday weekend? Get
your weekend?

Speaker 3 (35:42):
No, you just said your birthday oneaday? What weekend? That's ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (35:48):
I'll get all the weekend, slidey weekend.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
It's your birthday? What day is your birthday? Robbed? You
your birthdays? Monday? Happy Birthday?

Speaker 4 (35:58):
Thank you, Rob. That's it birthday?

Speaker 1 (36:01):
No rob ga Friday. I'll tell you where you get
your birthday gift? Is at the station. I already have it.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
They're waiting for you.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
You do you don't believe me?

Speaker 7 (36:11):
Do you?

Speaker 4 (36:11):
Do you? I mean I have to believe because you
think about me. You're not coming in.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Think about me, and you think your birthday gift is
at the station?

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Alex, what do you think?

Speaker 8 (36:19):
Oh?

Speaker 12 (36:19):
For sure, pre posted and everything you bought it a
month ago, knowing you Rob like March.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
That's right. That boy got you a nice something from Ross.
He caught a good all stuff from Ross. That's on you.
I love Ross all right? So why could I not
have a birthday week. No, we're not. Men aren't allowed
to celebrate like we gotta get back to it. But
if a birthday week, I'm.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
Not saying I could have a birthday month.

Speaker 5 (36:47):
Yes, yo, y'all got to relax. You want to ladies
trip to y'all got to relax. So no, and another thing,
let me add to the list. I'm not saying you
have to do it, but a man can't not know
how to change a tire. I'm not saying you have
to do with all the time, but you can't not
know how to change it.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
That's a good spoke with that.

Speaker 8 (37:03):
I agree.

Speaker 4 (37:05):
Thank you, Robie. You want to add one out of
ten times? What else can I I'm trying to think
a question for you guys, Okay.

Speaker 12 (37:15):
Change I know it's sorry for you, but I'm saying,
a man, you gotta know how to change your oil.
You went to not because you don't know?

Speaker 8 (37:22):
Okay. Now you live in a getting community. You big
trouble is trying to heat up water, right.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
You better talk to Rob g is a real water
right now, that that's a real fact. No, we're back, now,
we're back, baby, I'm back. We're back. Okay, here's what
I got for y'all.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
Kid.

Speaker 4 (37:38):
Men have straws when they drink. You know I could
drink at a bar.

Speaker 8 (37:43):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
I do not know.

Speaker 10 (37:45):
No, don't do it.

Speaker 3 (37:46):
You want an umbrella to drink with a straw at
a bar?

Speaker 8 (37:49):
No straw. I thought you were going to say, like
an iced coffee. I was like, yeah, no, I have
the straw. Here's another one. Jogging. Just run.

Speaker 12 (37:56):
Men can't job better fasting half fast better? Un you
better run.

Speaker 5 (38:02):
That's pretty funny, Alex, Alex, yours are extreme, manzi what else?

Speaker 4 (38:06):
You're the one, you're the woman? What is it?

Speaker 11 (38:08):
The car tire?

Speaker 4 (38:09):
And how to charge cure to jump a car? Jump
a car?

Speaker 3 (38:14):
I don't know how to jump a car. Get nervous,
I do.

Speaker 8 (38:16):
It, but I rather my boys in the dark alley.
Oh nice, nice. You can get a pedicure and a manicure.
That's fine.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
Just don't you know?

Speaker 4 (38:23):
Okay, I'm just asking you can do that, that's fine.

Speaker 8 (38:26):
Have nice feet. Who doesn't wantnice feet?

Speaker 4 (38:28):
The man wear a lip gloss?

Speaker 8 (38:30):
No, what I gotta say.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
I used to say this to my wife. She used
to hate it.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
I used to always say her feet weren't as soft
as mine. I'm talking about the skin.

Speaker 8 (38:38):
My gosh.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
So I used I used to say to her, do
you have your sandals?

Speaker 8 (38:44):
Wows divorced, So.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
This is something we shouldn't say.

Speaker 3 (38:52):
Is that what you're saying, Even if it's true, don't say.

Speaker 5 (38:55):
That man told her she was cutting up the bed sheet.
That's crazy.
