(00:25):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. That's right, it is
The Odd Couple, Fox Sports Radio. Rob Parker and Chris Bruce. Sorry,
but Chris is rich, so he's back on vacation yet again.
It's me. Rob GI's sitting in for mister Bruce sard
fast first hour there, Rob park I thought we had
a moving I think yeah, no, no, no, all good
(00:47):
and Rob g I'm not bragging. It's called proof of performance.
Did I tell you that the Yankees lost to doubleheader
Houston and they were gonna take it out on the oriole?
You did say that, what is it three? Daron Judge?
If he doesn't get the MVP. You know they're talking
about Altani, who hasn't played in a meaningful game all years. Exactly,
(01:11):
that's right, exactly. Well, we'll talk about Aaron Judge later
in the hour. I think we got some takes that
might blow some people's socks off. Little tease ahead for
you get bottom. At the bottom of the hour, we
got Fox Sports Radio NFL insider Adam Kaplan will dive
into the Lamar Jackson Kyler Murray situation with him, and
(01:31):
we're coming to you live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
And Rob, we could talk about how complicated other banks
make it to redeemed credit card rewards, or we could
talk about how we discover you can redeem your rewards
for cash in any amount at any time. I mean
talk about amazing learn more discover dot com slash redeemed
rewards terms do apply. Rob, Let me start with this here,
(01:56):
hour number two of the odd couple Earlier today, I'm
on Twitter and I see our social media guru Elijah,
putting some out there into the world. That kind of
got me a little bit upset. All right, he says,
folks take Madden ratings way too seriously. Oh And all
(02:18):
I said to him was wait until five pm, because,
as you know, the Madden ratings have been coming out,
leaking out basically for all week. You know, the wide receivers,
the defensive lineman, the ninety nine club things, like that.
And today they've released the quarterback ratings. So obviously you'd
(02:39):
expect two time MVP, back to back, belly to belly,
Aaron Rodgers, We'll be at the top of the list.
But no, instead it's the silver Fox Tom Brady. How
is Tom Brady? How I helped me with the Madden
and I saw the rating. I know, I mean, you
(03:01):
had JR pennies in a bunch early today. Absolutely when
you hit me up, I was like, oh, lob G
is like hot over this. And I looked at the
rating and I know Aaron Rodgers was what one point behind?
Was second? He went second. But but he did win
back to back MVP. He did. He had the best
team in football all season. And again, in all fair
(03:21):
intess to Tom Brady, he did lead the league in
both touchdowns and yards. However, there is no scenario whatsoever
where Tom Brady should be considered at this point in
his career to be the best quarterback in football, either
in real life or in this case, in Madden. All right. Again,
(03:42):
he led the league in yards and touchdowns. However, he
was not first in completion percentages. He was only ninth.
He was not first in QB rating he was eighth,
and for whatever reason, the folks over at Madden for
Tom Brady made him perfect in short accuracy ninety nine,
(04:08):
Darnier perfect in medium accuracy ninety six, and first in
the entire game in deep ball accuracy at ninety five.
I do not understand what kind of mental gymnastics you'd
have to do to convince yourself in any way, shape
or form that Tom Brady right now is the best
(04:29):
quarterback in football. He's not. And the last time we
saw him play he was god awful. In the first
half against the Ram Do you remember that game? He
was fuggly. He was fuggly, Yes, he was looking up
in the Urban Dictionary. He was fuggly. And then the
(04:50):
Rams what they fumble robs you four times in that game.
Put the put the Bucks back in the game, give
Brady a short feel, and then all of a sudden
it comes to come back, and all that it was
assisted by the Rams. They tried to give it away.
They did. They really tried to give that game away.
It was it was sick, wasn't it absolutely rob To
(05:12):
your point, tom Brady in the first half of the
game of the against the Rams, I know everyone talks
about how close it was and how they needed a
walk off Matthew Stafford touchdown to Cooper Cup. But you
pointed right at the nail on the head. It was
a blown coverage by Jalen Rams. He gave up like
a seventy yard touchdown. It was two back to back
fumbles inside their own territory that led to two other
(05:32):
touchdowns by the time by Buccaneers. But in the first half,
Tom Brady, when the game was still in doubt, ten
for twenty two, one hundred and twelve yards, one pick,
no touchdowns, did not complete his first pass until the
Buck's third possession of the game. That's not good. And
that's saying that he's the best quarter and they're saying
(05:53):
he's the best quarterback in the end. And it'd be
one thing if you were saying this was two I
was in in eight or two thousand and seven or whatever. Sure,
because he had the statistics, he had the hardware to
back it up. But this is not twelve years ago.
This is not ten years ago. This is not even
five years ago. How about this, Rob hold On, let
(06:15):
me say it is even You said he led the
league in yards and touchdowns, correct, correct, and didn't even
come close to winning the MVP because people look deeper
than just empty numbers. Correct, correct, Okay, Aaron Rodgers had
some of the best wins. Do you remember it going
into Arizona without what was he missing two or three?
(06:39):
Three receivers exactly? And they go into a seven and
old place on the road in the desert win that game?
You remember he came back against the forty nine ers
in San Francisco or with how much thirty seven seconds left?
You remember that game? I do? I mean so, so
he had big games and had some big wins on
(07:01):
the road, and so people look at the whole picture,
not just piling up stats against the Atlanta Falcons and
the Jacksonville Jaguars. Right, absolutely, there was a stat I
don't have it in front of me, but against the
Atlanta Falcons, Tom Brady threw for like a thousand yards
and eight touchdowns because they were just getting fat on
(07:22):
them and running up the score because the team was terrible.
And this goes to a bigger conversation about Tom Brady.
Rob You're not part of this group. You've been very upfront,
you've been very honest. I think about Tom Brady's historical
you know, relevance as it relates to football. You think
he's very good. I think you even have him second overall.
But there is another side of Tom Brady that no
(07:43):
one likes to talk about, and in my opinion, this
Madden Brady. I know it's Madden. It's not a big
deal because by week three they're gonna adjust that he's
going to be back to like six or seventh, the
way he should be. But it goes to a larger
point that people continue, for whatever reason, to go out
of their way to overrate Tom Brady and give him
(08:06):
credit for things that he does not deserve. Four Bengo.
He even all the wins, even all the Super Bowl wins,
go back to when they beat the Rams h third
what was it thirteen to three in the Super Bowl. Yes,
tom Brady, no touchdowns, a pick and a fumble, remember that,
But but where was the camera on Tom Brady? All
(08:27):
tom one? Another super Bowl? All tom Brady's unbelievable. I mean,
this is what we get, and you're right, I don't.
After all the winning he's done, they still feel compelled
to have to try to boost up his resume, as
if like they still want to prove that he is,
because there's a lot of people in NFL America, Rob
(08:50):
G who's not down with Brady all the way and
understands he has been the load. There have been a
lot of lucky things. That doesn't mean he can't play
well he's a bomb, no, but he's had a lot
of breaks in the NFL. Yeah, there's context. And look,
Tom Brady and and even you admit this, Rob He's
done enough good things in his career that we don't
(09:11):
need to find new things to give him credit for.
Exactly like, uh, two years ago, they beat the Green
Bay Packers the NFC Championship game. After the game, immediately
tom Brady does it again back in the Super Bowl
through three second half interceptions. Okay, we you and I
(09:33):
have talked about this. I know Chris doesn't like to
admit it because he's kind of in the in the
in the bag for Tom Brady. That entire run was
about the defense, no doubt. Remember when they beat the Saints,
same thing, Drew Brees through three picks exactly exactly, And
and still the narrative is, well, look what Tom Brady did,
(09:55):
Look what Tom Brady did, And it's like, did Tom
Brady win the game? Yes? Was he the reason that
they won the game? I don't think so. And don't
remind me of what's the guy, uh, Tim Tebow when
they were winning those gigs of Cody's better. Yeah, Tebow.
But but no matter what went on, he got all
(10:15):
the credit. I remember the kicker kick like a sixty
five yard field goal to win the game, and instead
of the camera being on the kicker was on Tim
Tebow right, right right, because you know, his faith in
the Lord willed that football through the up right exactly.
And look, if you don't want to admit this situation
(10:35):
with Tom Braid's a little bit sketchy because in my opinion,
not only do I think he's number one, I think
he's barely holding onto the top five in terms of
actual quarterbacks in the NFL. What would be your list
if you if you were to put up your five,
I'm just curious Rogers Rogers one, Mahomes two, Josh Allen three,
(10:55):
Joe Burrow four. And I think that Tom Brady's right
there with like Justin Herbert for fifth. To me, no,
I don't think that that's so inaccurate, which such as
a Raiders fan because all the best quarterbacks are in
the AFC. I know that's the bad part, but yeah,
I think too much is made and it's just the
hype that they want around Tom Brady. And I get
(11:18):
his longevity and playing, but I don't know how you
say a two time back that I shouldn't say because
he's won more MVPs. Go back to back what he's
won four? Now? Right? Four? But back to back MVP
isn't the number one quarterback in Madden. I just think that, yeah,
and then and even if you were to just talk
about it like disregard the actual football aspect, just say
(11:41):
for the Madden video game. I don't know how much
you play Madden, rob but I'd play. Never even touched
the thing. I can tell you, and anyone who's played
Madden can attest to this. The greatest Madden player of
all time to use was Michael Vick because he had
a big arm and he could run fast, which means
(12:02):
in a video game setting, you can do ungodly things
with him, and it makes it so much better than
whoever else you're going against. You could get way more. Absolutely,
Michael Vick was never I don't think even close to
being the best quarterback in the NFL when he was
actually playing, because you know, the way video games are
(12:23):
set up, it's about speed and arms strength, because the
accuracy doesn't really make a huge difference because the guys
will catch it anyways most of the time. So even
if you're just saying from a video game perspective, what
about Tom Brady makes you think that he'd be the
best quarterback in a video game? Is he fast? No?
Does he have a huge cannon like Josh Allen? No?
(12:44):
Can he run over guys the way that like a
Cam Newton can know? So what you're telling me is
that a guy who's never had a huge arm has
gotten by mostly on his awareness and his smart and
his ability to hit the checkdown better than damn you
or anybody in NFL hit can get the ball out
quickly exactly. That does not translate to video game success
(13:07):
even in that regard. So there's no reason, either on
the field or in the console, why Tom Brady should
be the number one quarterback in Madden. Doesn't make any
sense to me, not whatsoever. Let's hear from the people,
Rob g that's right, okay, going out to the callers.
Eight seven, seven nine nine six six three six nine
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox Can you make
(13:30):
a case for Tom Brady being the number one ranked
quarterback in the upcoming edition of Madden? We want to
hear from you. It is the Odd Couple with Rob

had a Glizzie in my mouth. And on that note,
it is the our Couple Fox Sports Radio, Rob Parker
and Chriss Christmas on a vacation. Rob GI's sitting there
for Chris. And we're brought to you by auto Zone
(14:13):
dealing with the dead battery head. Auto Zone America's number
one battery destination. They offer free battery services like free
battery testing, free battery charging. So next time you're having
battery trouble, head auto Zone your battery solution in America's
number one, number one battery destination. All right, me and Rob,
let it be known that we think Tom Brady is overrated,
(14:35):
at least in the Madden video games. Since Wow, Rob,
we got some callers who want their way in. Oh,
I'm no surprise. Some of the Tom Brady lovers have
come up from out of the hole and they can't
wait to jump on us. Eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox. And let's start with that guy, Trucker, Don
(14:55):
and Boston. You're on the Odd Couple Fox Sports Radio.
What up Truck? Hey, guys, great show, Rob Ge doing
a great job filling in. Thanks, thank you, you're doing killer. Uh.
I called the Odd Couple and I got robbed Robin
(15:17):
Rob that's right. Uh. You guys were talking WWF before
I go to my Brady. Um My mom used to
day the WWF wrestler back in the fifties early sixties
really called Gyp Gypsy Joe, and there was nothing fake.
(15:38):
I was at one of his matches. I was four
or five years old, and he was getting a crap
beat out of him by the iron Cheek with brass knuckles.
I remember back then, Yeah, yeah, yeah, Well there's been
a few iron cheeks, but this one, you and I remember, right,
And don don you remember Haystacks Calhoun. Right, absolutely, he
(16:01):
was rob ge. He was the fat guy, wore like overalls,
haystacks Calhoun and and the announcers always said, this is
the way they described him, six hundred and one pounds
of disgusting blubber. Okay, absolutely alight. You know I called
(16:22):
a bunk Brady because you guys, you know, every time
you talk Brady, you're you're calling for me to call you.
I know that we do it for you. It's specifically
for your thanks. I I well that I thought that
was what this whole show was for. That's right. You know,
you guys are awesome and I listened to you for everything.
But now I cannot believe that you guys are going
(16:42):
on the fact that uh uh Aaron Rodgers was MVP,
which is an opinion stat, not a game STATU Brady
beat him in every stat hands down this year. Not no,
he did not let me make my case. You guys, say,
what's his name from U Jersey there? Because he wasn't vaccinated,
(17:08):
was you know, Eric Kyrie Irving, Tam Kyrie Irving, Kyrie Irving,
thank you, and Kyrie heard his team and couldn't be
an MVP, and so on and so forth, and here
Aaron Rodgers did the same thing to Green Bay actually
held them up this year. And I'll tell you it
was it was kind of it was pretty disgusting the
way he did it. I thought, okay, yeah, but he
(17:30):
missed one game. Okay, right, I know that. And and
Rob written for it, absolutely I did. If you look
at his body at work, though, you must admit, Don,
he had some big wins for them throughout the season.
Rob geewee cobsolutely and and statistically done. You said that
brand being am across the board, that's not true. Second
(17:53):
in QB R, eighth in QB rating, Rodgers, first in both,
Brady ninth. In completely percentage Rodgers was third. So the
only read The reason why the touchdowns in the yard
were so high is because Tom Brady was throwing the
ball in every down. And that's not the way the
Packers run their offense. But they got two good running backs.
They do, they do. They only had one good receiver,
(18:15):
So why would they throw the ball seventy times a
game when he had one receiver? Thanks? Don, all right, No,
we appreciate it, Don, but you lost Okay, all right, Rob,
j do it. My phone is all right, we got.
Let's move on to Meg in Montana. Meg, you're on
the yacht couple of Fox Sports Rainy. What you got? Meg? Hey? Rob?
(18:39):
I am Hey. I'm so glad to be on the air.
My favorite Rob, Sorry, Rob is Rob Parker Parker? Why why? Meg?
That's so nice? Thank you so much? Why do you?
Why am I your favorite? I want to hear make
me feel good today? Go ahead? Why well? I love
the way you always go up against Chris with no shame,
(19:02):
and you always hold your ground even if you might
be kind of wrong. You stick to your gun. Are
all about in Montana? You hold the crown. You stick
to your freaking gun. And the other reason I love
you is because I am on your side. Tom Brady
(19:23):
is so overrated. Yes, no universe. There is no universe
where he should be the number one quarterback, not even
in a fake video game universe. And I am a
Diehart Dolphins fan and Tom Brady was the bane of
my existence in the AFC East for twenty years. And
(19:43):
on the one hand, I was so happy to wave
goodbye to him and ship him off to the Tampa
and the NFC. But on the other hand, I was
so annoyed that everybody gave him so much credit early,
give us you an in the team. He wins a
Stuper Bowl, exactly what a exactly what you guys were
talking about. Day won, But not because of Tom Brady.
(20:04):
It was the defense. And yes, his yards and his
touchdowns are so high because he is a one trick pony.
I can't move in the pocket. He always looks like
a cry baby on the sideline. Anytime you look at him,
he's always frowning and looking down. I cannot express how
angry Tom Brady makes me and Meg. You must call
(20:27):
in against We'll get you a walk up. I gotta
get Mega an odd Couple T shirt. Thanks for the
call appreciation. We squeeze in one more. Robek ahead very quickly,
Drew in New Jersey. Drew, you're on the ay couple.
Fix Core Frady, what you got buddy? Um. I think
there's no reason why you can't have Aaron Rodgers's number one,
(20:49):
especially even if he's you know, he hasn't come up cluck.
When lebron was choking up in Dallas. You still, as
far as I know, he was still number one in ranking.
So yes, Aaron Rodgers a little bit of a choke artist,
but don't hold it again. Somebody who's number one throughout
the season last two years. YEP. I don't see how
you can make an argument that Patrick Mahomes the past
(21:11):
two postseason postseasons have not been two kind actually past
three Gray, be honest. No back handed compliment there for
Aaron Rodgers, but we'll take it because it proves that
he should be listed above Tom Brady in any event.
The Tom Brady Slander will continue on the other side
with Fox Sports Radio NFL insider Adam Kaplan, but first
be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
(21:33):
with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm

listen to Inside the Parker with Rob Parker on the
iHeart Radio app or wherever you get your podcast. It
is the odd couple, Rob Parker and Rob Ge sitting
(22:14):
there for Chris Brussarry coming to you live from the
Fox Sports Radio studios and joining us right now Fox
Sports Radio, NFL Insider friend of this show, Adam Kaplan, Adam,
how you doing man, Adam, It's good to talk to you. Yeah. Now,
wait a minute, this this Tom Brady stuff. I mean,
I was listening. Let's get right to it. In the
world is going on with you guys. We'll get to
(22:35):
the real football stuff. And it's the lady you called.
I mean, what Look, she's a Dolpher fan, So I
get it right. Hey, we'll get on to Tom Brady.
That'll be the last thing we asked you because we
want to get the oive. I know, but Adam, let's
let's start here. Sure. Uh you know, after DeShawn Watson
got the two hundred thirty million dollar fully guaranteed contract, uh,
(22:57):
Kyler Murray, did he slip up? Did he make a mistake?
Why wouldn't he expect the same exact thing? And why
did he just take one hundred and sixty million? First
of all, the circumstances a little bit different. Watson was traded.
The Watson's agent had specific parameters for for for him
to accept where he was going to go Cleland. Cleveland
(23:20):
was the only team that would do it. They did
things that other teams and ay would not do. They
were when I was at the Orange meetings. I mean
the conversations that I had guys behind the scenes, the
venom that some teams had for Cleveland for doing a
deal like that. That's five years fully guaranteed at signing.
Because now now you've changed the paradigm. Now when we
get to Joe Burrow next year and Justin Herbert, they'll
(23:43):
be eligible to get contracts. I guarantee you they get
fully guaranteed they should get because he had no offense
to to Lamar Jackson, who's who's you know, obviously up
for a contract, and Carler Murray. These guys are way better.
I know it's a little subjective because they're so early
in the career. Well, but I'll say Lamar has his resume,
(24:04):
you know, unanimous MVP. I think, I think, and he
is such a big part Adam of what they do
in Baltimore offense, and he has to give up his body.
I would demand a fully guarantee if I'm Lamar. Now
I know he didn't have an agent, but if I'm Lamar,
I want a fully guaranteed contract. Well, first of all,
(24:25):
he's gonna want to be you gotta start, He's gonna
want to beat marriage contract. So he has that information
available to him through the NFLPA. And by the way,
the little Nugget for the NFLPA will assist agents or
players if they need it with advice. They have a
very good staff there of giving advice on how the
contract should be structured. And it's not. These are not
(24:45):
as complicated as NBA contracts with all of the rules
that you have. The guarantees are very easy to understand.
You either get him fully guaranteed or you get partial
with a called rolling guarantees, where if you're on the
roster at a certain point, you get your your your
your base slum coins fully guaranteed. That's really what it is.
But with Watson, he never had to do that. Every
(25:08):
single dollar in his contract is fully guaranteed signing, which
nobody in the league does that. Teams now are basically
willing to go three years, not five, But those eight.
I'm telling you, Herbert and Burrows agents will absolutely ask
for that kind of money. And that's going to be
a showdown, I'm telling you because if they're not willing
(25:28):
to do it, because what does Deshaun Watson? Every one
I know he was great two years ago. I'm with you,
but so and these kids have stayed out of trouble.
Well we know everything's been alleged against Watson, but it
is what it is. So yeah, it's gonna be fascinating.
These quarterback contracts. Heck, the the receiver contracts have gone up,
(25:49):
and don't forget next year the TV money is going
to go way up. This is this is the big
year twenty twenty. Pay for the TV money. Well, Adam
sticking with the Shawn Watson. We still don't know how
long the suspension is going to be a We should
be coming down hopefully in about a week or so.
Hopefully I was told by the end of the month
was realistic. But understand, you've got two legal braced by
both sides, voluminous and she and she was told there's
(26:12):
no pressure from anyone. Ideally you want it before everyone
starts working next week. But the fact the matter is
it's going to get done when it gets done. Yes,
it's hard to manage that Watson won't get suspended. But
understand there's a lot that goes on here. Historical precedent
is taken into account how the league has handled suspensions.
(26:35):
NFLP has their evidence, their information to show that the
league has alwaysn't done it, They've been inconsistent with their discipline.
The league has the testimony of women, which is very compelling.
Sue Robinson, the retired federal judge, has a very interesting
challenge on her hands because if if he has not suspended,
and by the way, that the next point here is
if if he's not suspended, there's no appeal. You can't suspend,
(26:59):
you can't he'll know games. It would it would be
a terrible look for the NFL based on what's been alleged.
But it's up to Sue Robinson to decipher. And I'll
be interesting to to read her judgment once she's done.
If it's if it's no games, well, I got a
quick follow for you. Now. One thing has been reported
is that if the NFL comes down with a one
year suspension, that the NFLPA will appeal it on Deshaun
(27:22):
Watson to be happ we're going at federal court. Yeah,
my friend Charles Robinson. Yeah. My question though, would be, though,
is didn't they structure his contract in such a way
so that if he were to get suspended, he wouldn't
lose so much money this season. Wouldn't it actually behoove
him just accept it rather than lose it next year
when he has the contracts told. No, the way it
goes as it's told, Okay, it would be like he's
not playing, so if he's not playing this season, it
(27:44):
gets told so he'll be paid. He would be paid
one million next season. When you don't play, if you
take a year off, like the players that took a
year off for COVID and then came back, the contract
was told they would get their base salt for the
previous season. And well, now here's a big point though,
because this has been collectively bargained between the NFL and
(28:05):
NFLPA the discipline in twenty twenty, the new the revised
rules courts the way it was explaining to the courts
loath to take any any court they don't like to
get involved with collectively bargained situations. They typically will not
take these cases. And that's what happened with Brady. If
(28:26):
you remember m he kind of ran out of legal options.
We know that the situations are different, of completely different
in terms of what they were being accused of, but
in terms of taking into another court. You could try,
but the chances are very slim. Another court would take it,
as you would explain to me, and we'll see what happens.
But I'll tell you what one thing, folks, if you're
(28:47):
a Browns fan, listened to us. If Watson shockingly does
not get suspended, now you're talking about a major competitor
in the ANFC North. People forget, I know I didn't
play last season. Don't blame him for how bad the
Texans where their defense was not competitive in twenty twenty,
he had He was very good. In twenty twenty the
team was terrible turmoil, but he was really good. Here's
(29:08):
my other thing, too real quick. The Trevor Bauer didn't
face any criminal charges were dropped, right, were dismissed. Uh
and he got two years suspension um from Major League Baseball.
That has their union is stronger than anybody's union, and
(29:31):
that's why it doesn't make the Shawn Watson compared to
Trevor Bauer to me is very I mean, you have
sixty women or whatever it is. How many women is
it now? Compared to one on one or two and
and there were no criminal charges against Bauer. Yet this
dude was the highest paid player in baseball. He lost
two years, He's gonna lose two years salary, and the
(29:52):
players Union didn't back him, like it's it's a little surprising.
Yet the NFL Players Association, I'm they have to do
the LPA. I mean literally, there are very few instances
where they're not going to fight for the player, no
matter how heinous or the allegations are. Again, he hasn't
been charged, no matter how bad it looks. It's their job.
(30:13):
I don't see look the other way. It's like a
defense attorney. But aren't you surprise at the baseball and
Trevor Bauer just it's different to me. It's different because
if you tell me, I'm not a baseball guy. But
I remember reading about it where their pictures where there's
a yeah, yeah, well there's no pictures here with you.
You just have an eye with you, just have women
calling their account. But there were no pictures like they're
(30:33):
with with Bauer, I believe correct, No, that is correct,
But there are also no pictures with Bill Cosby would
hit the sixty women. And yeah, that's another subject which
we could talk about. But I actually grew up where
unfortunately where some of the stuff it was allegedment. It's
another story. Yes, this is an awkward segue. Then, but
(30:55):
Tom Brady got one minute for this one. Make your
case for Tom Brady being the best quarterback in ball. Yes, court,
well he still is. Oh gosh, well here here's okay.
If you want to say the most talented, you could
say Matthew Stafford, who was great. He won the Super Bowl,
forty touchdowns, best season, the square rob covered him luckily
with the Lions, he finally got some. It's all Grady was. Yeah,
except yeah, because the forty nine ers dB dropped a game. Yeah,
(31:19):
I know, but you know what, you got a second
life and he won. I'm just saying he dropped it. Yeah,
but in the end, guys, he's the best of all time.
It's not close. He's the best of all time. Peyton's
number two. And you know, in our like if we
if we sat down, give us your best professional athletes
(31:41):
Jordan Gretzky Brady. I mean absolutely not. Brady's not the
best quarterback fund. I would take Joe Montan over Tom
Brady any day of a week. I would. It's a
good discussion. Ironically, that was Brady's favorite player growing up.
That's a good discussion. And the only reason why, and
the only reason I it's about Joe Joe Montana four
(32:02):
no in the Super Bowl eleven touchdowns. No picks won
two Super Bowls with Jerry Rice won two without had
to throw a game winning touchdown in two of the
Super Bowls to win him, and he won, and he
won three a super Bowl MVPs. That's all. But he
didn't win it with another team. Okay. But and he
also didn't have a cheating scandal. That is true. Okay,
(32:25):
how that's it, Adam, we got he got thet he
got the last one, all right, next time again, that
is our man, Adam Cavoy and Fox. Thanks appreciate it, buddy,
all right. Rob Parker's Yankees are one of the teams
in the mix for Juan Soto. But should they have
their eyes focused somewhere else? We'll get into that next.
(32:47):

I mean, talk about amazing learn more discover dot com
(33:31):
slash redeem rewards terms do apply now, Rob. Before we
went to commercial, I talked about how your New York
Yankees are one of the teams. Reportedly there are seven
who are in on Juan Soto. However, they also have
an issue going on with the future of Aaron Judge
in the Bronx. If you're running the New York Yankees,
(33:54):
is your focus on giving up the farm and making
a trade for Juan Soto or paying four hundred plus
million dollars for super Slugger Aaron Judge. You know what,
I don't think Judge is gonna cost you as much.
Judge as an older player and Aaron Judge to me
as a Yankee came up through their system. He reminds
(34:19):
me of Derek Jeter, Rob g Would you admit as
the face of the organization. He's a nice guy and
you know you're not gonna have any trouble with him.
And I'm not saying that Soto is gonna give you
any issues. And here's the other scary part. If you're
the New York Yankees, are you sure Juan Soto won't
melt playing in the bright lights of New York playing here?
(34:42):
Guys have right, Plenty of guys have done that. Where
you know what you're gonna get Aaron Judge. It's never
been an issue robe whether he could play. It's always
been can he stay healthy? Right? Right? That's it. He
had fifty two home runs his rookie year. Aaron Judge
is made for Yankee Stadium. The Bronx Bombers. What are
(35:05):
you hit tonight? His thirty fifth or sixty there was
a three run blast. Ye, yep, you see what I'm saying.
So so if I'm the Yankees, I get it. Waran
Soto's only thirty two, I mean twenty three. He's young,
He's a kid. He's got a hell of a lot
of a potential. Guess what never won rookie a year,
(35:28):
hadn't won an MVP like I mean, like, he's got
a nice start to his career. And I'm not saying
he's not a great player or doesn't have a chance
of being a Hall of Famer of that caliber of
a player. He does. Ye, But I know what I'm
getting with Aaron Judge. I would stick with Aaron Judge.
Pay him three hundred million rather than a kid who
(35:51):
just turned down a half a billion. What will he
want from the Yankees if he turned down a half
a billion or whatever he wants. If it's the Yankees,
add another ten million just because it's the Yankees, like
they had to play attacks them and the Dodgers don't
really have to pay. And but rob to your point
about Aaron Judge, how he's one of those guys who's
actually built for the bright lights of the Bronx Joey
(36:13):
Gallo big controversy right now in New York because he's
just been bad. Okay, he's never been a great, you know,
average hitter. You know, he's it's about two hundred for
his career, but in the last two seasons or season
in a half that he's been with the Yankees, he's
bad in one sixty. Right. Like, there's certain guys who
(36:34):
just can't handle. This is not a knock on them,
it's just fact they can't handle the bright lights, the pressure,
the media coverage that comes along with being on one
of those brand dame teams like the Yankees. We see
that here in Alley all the time with the Lakers,
and they get guys all the time who will shoot
(36:54):
forty percent from three with the Charlotte Hornets and the
Lakers and they shoot thirty three, one hundred percent because
the games matter exactly down in Charlotte, the games don't matter, yep.
And and a lot of these towns, what guys are
playing no whether they win to left, they win on
us cool if they if you lose two or three
in a row in the Bronx, they're ready to Somebody
(37:15):
said they want somebody's hand. Yeah, I mean you and
I talked about at the beginning of the show. We're
kind of jokingly that the Astros own the Yankees this season, right,
The Yankees, as far as I know, still have the
best record in baseball. Yes, and Yankees Twitter is melting
down every other day, especially when they lost to the Astros,
because oh, we gotta make a move. We can't compete,
we gotta make a move. You're the best team in
(37:36):
baseball right now. But because it's different, it means more
when you're wearing those pinch trips. So I understand why
if you're the Yankees, it helps to know that you
have a guy who's he's been there, who's experienced it,
and he knows what to expect Niken perform in that situation.
I agree. I think that that's that's priceless, Robe priceless. Yeah, Well,
we'll get to my Los Angeles Lakers an hour three
(37:58):
because they had a move move on the table and
they didn't pull the trigger. That's next on the act
couple
