Speaker 4 (01:05):
Every week he's winning four of the five bats. God,
winning all these bats. He's steamrolling Calvin. You know, I
can't deny you're not even saying anything. God, I can't
even deny you, Bro. I'm saying it is well with
the picks.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Still, my bets are still open, still out there, Chris,
Chris Brewce Parker.
Speaker 4 (01:26):

Antonio Daniels, it's coming up at the bottom of the
there you go, and former NBA champ, Serious XM, NBA
radio and Pelicans of course TV analysts. I want to
find out who was ripping me on NBA radio. Maybe
(01:55):
he heard that day.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
So what you don't know who morning?
Speaker 4 (02:00):
It was the Morning Show, But I don't. I think
Frank gott Sola's on that show.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
I know you got some New York beef for something.
Oh yeah, No, me and Frank we go way back.
So I didn't say you can go back, but you know,
maybe he got some beef.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
We might be all right. And also, don't forget in
this hour is trash talking Tuesday. In about forty minutes,
your chance to trash anyone anything in the world of sports.
So we do that and much more. All right, Rob
g we got news out of the nation's capital today
and it wasn't that news.
Speaker 6 (02:26):
Yeah, tough scene if you are a Washington Commander's fan
or bit you look at it. Jayden Daniels has officially
been shut down for the rest of the season. He's
been injured several times. He's only played seven games this season.
Most recently, he came back from dislocating at elbow, reaggravating
the injury on interception trying to make a tackle, try
to be a hero, And when the reporters asked him
(02:48):
about getting shut down, he didn't seem too happy about it.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Take a listen, super tough man, and I don't want
to miss games that are been frustrated whose season missing games?
Speaker 7 (02:57):
I want to be out there on my teammates as
much so.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
This has been a frustrating year at this point year.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
But you learned from before. I don't understand it. I
gotta admit, and I know you're on that well you
know what I mean. I do know what you're on
because you know you said it a few times.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
You're not playing for anything. Just wait till next year.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
And you don't want to put him out there in
the meanless game.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
We want them get hurt.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
No, no, no, you can't prevent people from getting hurt, So
your playing makes no sense. If they don't play him
this year. If he's healthy and we'll wait till game one,
he could get hurt in game one. He can get
hurt in game two. You can get hurt at any point.
You cannot prevent injuries. So when you're healthy, you should
(03:52):
be playing. Jane Daniels, how does he rob g twenty three?
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Maybe a little play about four five, six years of
college twenty four, but yeah, but anyway, young, he's young.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
I'm not exact age, but you get my point.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
If you're twenty four, you're young. If you're healthy, you
should be playing. How do you get better by playing?
By getting reps in game action? You can't put bubble
wrap around him and say we're gonna hold out and
hold on. Michael Parson's played. Guess what he got heard?
(04:28):
Patrick Mahomes has been playing for eight plus years. You
know what happened. He got heard. It happens. Tom Brady
got heard. Aaron Rodgers broke two collar balls.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
He got heard.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
There's no way you can prevent it. At the look
of Philip Rivers, he's been heard. I mean, I'm just
saying the way he moves around. You get my point.
So if somebody is healthy, not rushing somebody's back who's
not healthy, I'm against that. I was against Kevin Durant
trying to play in the NBA Finals when everybody knew
(04:59):
he wasn't healthy.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (05:00):
Like that, I'm gonna get a d after Charles Barkley
called him street close. Remember the next game he came
out and played for five minutes and he could barely
move in the core that. You don't get anything there
from me as far as trying to suit up. You hurt,
actually hurt your team because you can't play. But if
(05:21):
Jade Daniels is healthy, he should be out there playing.
And I applawed him for saying he's disappointed. He's a
young guy, he wants to play and he should play
if he's healthy.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
I applaud him for saying how he feels. Come have
a seat with me, player, Come sit on down. First
of all, he was already nursing leg injuries throughout the
early portion of the season. Right finally gets back out there,
falls down and we all think his arm is like shattered.
Speaker 5 (05:46):
It was one of the worst injuries I've ever seen
that ended up noting.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
It wasn't that spear right I'm saying, but the look
of it, But it ended up not being bad. He
avoided tearing any ligaments. Then the next week or so
he aggravates it and it is none throwing arm. He's
been banged up too much this season, and I understand.
I applaud him wanting to play. I applaud him not
trying to take it an easy way out. I totally
(06:09):
get that respect that, and I believe his teammates do too,
and I think they like that. He wants to have
that warrior mentality, that wanted football player mentality. The difference
for me, Rob is I look at him as this
is our guy for the next twelve fifteen years hopefully,
but at.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
Least, you know, decade. This guy came in.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
There was twelve and five last season, get all the
way to the NFC Championship Game. He throws the most
four thousand yards, twenty five touchdowns and almost rushes four
thousand yards. Very very talented, very special. This season, he's
banged up. Other guys banged up. They got holdouts earlier
this season. They couldn't find their way, and now when
he plays the two and five, when he doesn't play
(06:46):
the two and five, and now they find himselves in
this position of four and ten. I get it. You
want to show him a gladiator. I'm paid to play football.
I want to play the game. But I have to
operate as a business, right. This is a business. This
is a long term thing. And anybody knows anything about investments.
We ain't day trade. But but but no, no, I
just I just want you want to I want one thing.
I want to introduce one point. Him not playing this year,
(07:09):
does that mean he won't get hurt next year? That's
that yes or no? Okay, but that has nothing to
do with it, because that's contemples to apple. If he
got hurt, I wrote what you said he could get
hurt game one or two. Well, we were oh and
oh when we started. He still mean we're competing for something.
When he gets hurt, you're not out beating for any point.
Is no we go into the season he's playing because
(07:32):
it's we're O and O and your game one reference,
we're maybe one to oh in your game two reference.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
Meaning we're going for something.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
This season is over your four intend he's banged up,
he's bruised up. I know he wants to play, because
it's the whole Are you healthy or you're hurt. I
understand that. It's the reason why you wear a red
jersey in practice. You mean more to us. You didn't
want went out then balled out.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
Hey, what did he say the other day?
Speaker 2 (07:56):
The boy looked miserable. No, but you I ain't happy.
I'm going to do what. He played great in the
first game back. He played great. No, it's not that
he doesn't have the talent. I'm not questioning Joe. That's
that's an I want him occupation because he's a teller,
and when he's and we're rolling, we might have something.
So Jade and Daniels is too young, too valuable to us.
(08:17):
We didn't win this season.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Doesn't make that hurt doesn't make any sense because he
could still get hurt.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
I don't. I just thought him, you and I can
walk out of here. That what I'm saying is you do.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
Him not playing at the end of the year stumped
his uh his growth as a quarterback because he's not
getting reps in game action. And it does not change
whether or not he's gonna get hurt or.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Not, it does not change it. I am today. Somebody
can get hurt. That's irrelevant. That's not the worth the risk.
You getting hurt when we're competing for something is worth
the risk. But he's still getting It doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
You can't stop him from getting hurt if by not
playing this show.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
The point is we're competing for something. So if you
get hurt, you're right, I can. That's just part of life.
But the idea of you getting hurt, you get it there.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
If they were seven and six and at a one
percent chance to still get in the playoffs, you're cool
with it.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Yeah, if he's as long as he's healthy, you can't meet.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
They can't really sixty they got a chance at seven
and six. They run in that Super Bowl run. Have
you heard of your guy Eli Manning? He did it twice.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
People, All people have gotten in there, not back when
it was only sixteen games at nine and seven and
won Super Bowls. We in it. We competing because once
you get in the tournament, you never know.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
My only point is it doesn't matter. That's just some
nonsense that people have made up. Guys are players. It's
the same people you were the same guy, and I'm
gonna say, you were doing the show then, who didn't
want Zion to play? Okay, so they didn't want Zion
to play. He's an eighteen year old college kid, nineteen
years old because the sneaker blew out, don't play you
(09:50):
already first he played. Okay, they didn't win a national championship,
but they he played.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
No point.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
They still got hurt down the road. He's got hurt
before he was in college. He gets hurt. But that's
my point. Way, because he was still competing at Duke
for something. Most people didn't want him to play at
all because he was.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
They didn't want to because the number one pick. That
is not that's not nearly the same conversation. He played
because he still had a chance to win the national championship.
That's my point. You play. He was already quarterback who's
banged up arms twist, he was already the number one pick.
What did play saying? If I were sitting here doing
the cup with you, I would have said, played for
(10:30):
you only gonna be here for one.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Year, had an off year, and not just by the injuries.
He won the same quarterback He needs repped.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
He needs to get better Hartley quarterback is because he
was trying to play through injuries and banged up. It's
called the NFL. People are hurt all the time.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Aaron Rodgers has a busted left wrist.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
He's playing. But my point is, you mut why he
didn't playing, well, that's what I'm referring to. Why it's
why he may not have been at his best. What
I'm saying is.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
I just think it's year two and they and they
have film on him.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Well he's not He's not playing horrible. He's got eight touchdowns,
three interceptions. When he's out there, they were on his head.
That offensive line ain't doing that. So he hasn't played
bad and I think he's gonna be playing that well, well,
it's just been an off week. He's out three four weeks,
then he's back. And my whole point is have a seat, bro,
you're twenty four. We want you to play till thirty four.
We want to get other good.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
Runs at him. The end of the year does not
mean he's gonna play till thirty four, because.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
That's my goal that it's called long term investments, but
it doesn't invest.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
But it doesn't mean anything. He could get hurt on
any absitution investment.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
But but I'm being resourcing investment.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
I just don't get that.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
I don't, Actually, I genuinely dont understand how you don't
get that. I don't.
Speaker 5 (11:50):
He could week one next season.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Off and holding him out.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
You're holding him out the rest of this year will
not guarantee he's going to be healthy next year.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
That's nothing to do with this season. What if he
tears an ACL on a meaningless game when we're four
and ten.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
They need to learn and get more reps in game action.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
It's not meaningless.
Speaker 5 (12:11):
It's to why everybody else plays. That's why people are playing.
He ain't everybody.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Everybody about sixteen guys who ain't everybody?
Speaker 4 (12:21):
The only people who sit out, even of Patrick Mahomes.
It'll be the last game of the year where they
might not play. Leading up to the playoffs. They were
eleven tozer last year. Right at one point they could
have easy said Pat, hey, we already playoffs. We're gonna
be You don't need to play no more because we
don't want you to get hurt.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
You don't play like that, because that's a completely different thing.
He's staying in the groove he's staying in the rhythm
to compete for a championship. All I'm saying is, if
he's beat up and he's bruised up this year, it
makes no sense for me to roll him out there.
He's already frail, he needs to put some more meat
on his bones. And why he's already nicked up and
banged up. I get it.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
You're tough. You want to compete. It's what you do.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
It's when you do a whole life. It's a long
term investment. We love you, we believe in you. Have
a seat. We'll figure some things out, we'll get healthy,
we'll get hold and we'll get better and we'll come
right back to it next season.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
An NBA own to just put his head coach on notice.
We'll get into that next. It is the odd couple.

I'm a little moist right now. That don't sound like that, Chris,
I'm a little moist right now, Chris, right, Oh my yeah,
I can't believe he ain't s in an evening, Yeah, Harryett.
When I leave, all right, Blood bad boy Blood is
beating coming up later in this hour. But about twenty
minutes or so, we got trash talking Tuesday. In about
(14:33):
seven or eight minutes, we got Antonio Daniels looking forward
to talking to him.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Talk some hoops just to get to Yeah, that's right.
And by the way, every goal starts with an assists
on and off the field. That's why Haleyon and US
Soccer are launching for the Assist, a celebration of everyday
acts of support that helped people achieve their goals with
iconic brands like cincin On, Tom's, Voltairean Advil, and Centrum
to Tom Tom, do they still do those commercials? To
(14:58):
learn more, go to haley On Assist Go check it out,
all right, rob G. Everybody's owners a little different. Some
you literally never see you. They just own it silently.
Others are very vocal, very adamant, very into it. And
Joe Lakub with the uh, the Warriors will be the latter.
Speaker 6 (15:15):
Yeah, Joe Lacob at time today as they say, Yeah,
A fan emailed him directly. How he got his email
address a totally different con That's a good question. But
he sent him an email venting about their second option.
Jimmy Butler's think he's been very disappointed in him. Our
team's not good. We got to upgrade to that position.
Joe Lakub responded, quote, you can't be as frustrated as me.
(15:38):
I'm working on it. It's complicated style of play, coaches
desires regarding players, league trends. Jimmy is not the problem,
signed Joe. Obviously that when public, it got shared and
it led to Steve Kerr getting questioned about it earlier today,
answered several questions and in it Steve Kerr response saying,
(16:00):
not a big deal, not concerned about it.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
We're all frustrated.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
I love it. I love it.
Speaker 5 (16:07):
The reason what I love about it is because I
have an owner.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
If I'm a fan of that, you know, the team
that's invested, that cares, literally invested all the money they're spending, luxury,
taxing all but also cares. And I love that he responds.
I'm sure he might get five hundred too. With the
holes of emails over the year from fans, he can't
respond to them all, but every now and again jumping
out there. Look, I look at Mark Cuban. He cared
he would host live she would go live stream while
(16:30):
he's on the treadmill, taking questions, answering questions, talking about
the team, talking about things, and just being a part
of it. If invested, you see Steve Balmer aside from
alleged money payments and all that, but you know, invested
with the fans, answer stuff, doing things to me. I
like that, if my owners like that. I mean, even
Jerry Jones. What makes him Jerry Jones is that he
takes radio show call, He takes calls, he has radio shows,
(16:51):
he does all these different things. Is engaging.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
Nobody cares about that.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
Can you just win?
Speaker 4 (16:55):
And you know what, for him to come out of
the woodwork and go over the top of the head
of the general manager and the coach is terrible.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Not that okay, I didn't like Okay, well, yeah, I
like the engagement with fans.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
I just I just think that that's really not uh,
you talk to the media right like like so there's
a buffer there and that's for the fans, and you
don't need to make yourself available all the time. Jerry
Jones is over the top. Yes, you should hear from
the owner every so often, but for the most part,
that's why you hire a general manager, and that's why
you hire a coach or team president.
Speaker 5 (17:30):
They speak for you.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
You know what I mean? And and most of the
time you're gonna put your foot in your mouth anyway.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
You really are, he insert for again. I still I
don't like I stand, but I don't mind it him responding.
I think that's pretty dope to me, actually, Like hey,
I care. You ain't more frustrating.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
I mean, Steve Kurr has to answer questions about what said.
Speaker 5 (17:48):
That's that's what you start putting in specificities.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
But listen, Steve Kerr has won a million times as
a player. It still does owner. My point is, if
this is the worst he gotta deal with he I
I would prefer my owner not to. But I like
the engagement every now and again. I like him saying, hey,
I care too, and have invested Joe Leka therap. They
put money in, They're very They're into this thing, that
(18:14):
whole team there, that whole system. And I like that
that they're not just all right, it's some money making
shan who really cares?
Speaker 9 (18:19):
You know?
Speaker 2 (18:20):
I don't really, I'm not, you know, just as long
as I make my extra twenty million this year, whatever win,
lose draw.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
I like that they want to win, that they're all in.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
But again, the specificities does leave it for questions that
Steve Kerr has to answer, or maybe if it's a
player in this case Jimmy Butler, Hey, people are the owner.
Speaker 5 (18:35):
They've asked him questions.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
So I don't like him going over the top about
the you know, the specifics, but the idea of just
engaging I don't have problem every now and again.
Speaker 4 (18:42):
Yeah, I just I just think it's grandstanding and trying
to make yourself look good and putting it on other people,
you know, like like we're obviously we're trying to win,
and we're gonna figure this out, and yes, we hope
we get better. I just think that it's better to
have every so often as an owner, you make yourself availed,
not where you're Jerry Jones and you're having your own
(19:05):
press conference where the writers aren't going to talk to
the coach because you're having a simultaneous press conference.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Right by the way, listen my radio show tomorrow exactly,
Like like that's the part I don't I don't like.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
I just I think there's a way of doing it.
And I'm not saying you should be a totally absentee
owner and never say anything. I'm not with that, But
I don't think that I really want to hear from
the owner on that kind of tip.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
I don't mind a faux pat every now and again.
If you are all the heck in and that team,
that whole organization has been all in financially investments trades,
trying to figure it out. What do we do keeping
guys you know, they've done whatever it takes. And I
would like that as an ownership. I mean, you know
how it was in Detroit, like when you got a
whole system that cares you're not gonna win everything, and
(19:51):
everything ain't aways gonna be peachy, but that that feels great.
So just like you're feel invested because it's some fan
bases where they're like, man, does anybody care? Or as
long as we make our plus three percent this year,
we're all right with that. All right? On the way
eighty Antonio Daniels, we'll talk with him, talk some hoops. Also, yeah,
also yeah, man, always good to chop it up with
ad and trash talking. Tuesday coming up as well, in
(20:12):
about fifteen minutes or so. Right now, I low getting
you set well and what's trending.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 10 (20:28):
As I said, this year's NBA Cup Championship game at
Team Mobile Arena in Vegas, but a short time ago,
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver told Amazon Prime that future NBA
Cup Championship games could be held elsewhere.
Speaker 11 (20:42):
We're talking about whether it makes sense to maybe go
to some unique locations for the final game. For example,
some like storied college arenas. So we're just looking at
other ways we could do this.
Speaker 10 (20:53):
So storied college arenas, what do you guys think what
arenas could be under consideration?
Speaker 5 (20:58):
They're interesting.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
How does how does Adam Silver check into a hotel
with all the bags of tricks that he has. I mean,
everything's a gimmick. Don't be a gimmick league.
Speaker 5 (21:11):
They have am I right there.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
Every every year they're changing something, and I'm just saying
it keeps some traditions. Don't be like that.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
The problem is everything else in twenty twenty five. No
longer like I'm doing this for you. It's I'm doing
it for them, them, them around the world because we're
so we're so digitized and everybody can see.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
That's fine.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
I don't disagree with you, but I'm saying it's just
getting too much. Every year they change the also game,
every year, they changed this the course, They got this enough?
Speaker 4 (21:42):
All right? I love, thank you, My.
Speaker 10 (21:44):
Man, I'm just thinking out loud though.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
They're going to Cameron Arena and I was.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Thinking that too.
Speaker 10 (21:53):
But Cameron Arena only holds like eight thousand money.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
But that's what will make it faster.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
Yeah. Interesting. See maybe if they had it on campus
a southern Connecticut I might go.
Speaker 5 (22:04):
Now, you are change.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
What a man, man, what a bag of tricks? We
got more room for you to bring all your bags

Speaker 5 (22:56):
What am I missing?
Speaker 4 (22:56):
What's happening?
Speaker 12 (22:59):
Listen?
Speaker 13 (22:59):
I was privileged to come on a little bit early,
and I couldn't hear the report, Rob. I just heard
what you were saying, just the end of what you
were saying, and I couldnot agree with you anymore. I
don't even know what you're referencing. I don't even know
what you're reperensing.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
He's talking about the maybe playing the what is the
end season tournam what they call.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
It, playing in the nd season tournament cup finals at
US at college like college special college arenas or what
our special places?
Speaker 4 (23:30):
And I'm just like Antonio the NBA can we just
like every year were changing everything. I just God, it
just seems like you know.
Speaker 13 (23:39):
What I heard today. Let me tell you what I
heard today that brought this fame conversation up on our
Sarah XM shows. Is they're talking about with the competition
committee doing away with or finding a way to address
when teams are up three points in the last fifteen
seconds of the game they foul, you know what I mean, right, doing.
Speaker 12 (24:03):
Away with that?
Speaker 2 (24:04):
But that's a strategy.
Speaker 13 (24:05):
Why what why That's the same thing I did, strategy exactly.
But yeah, I'm with you. It's a lot that this
is a social media driven thick.
Speaker 5 (24:14):
That's what I said.
Speaker 13 (24:15):
Now everything is about appealing to someone else. So well,
they're complaining about it, so it must be a big deal.
And if it becomes that big of a deal, maybe
they're going to stop watching. Remember last year during the
NBA Finals when how many people complained because they didn't
have the Finals on the floor on the floor, and
(24:35):
then for Game two they put it on the floor,
which it just looked awful.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
Which was crazy. Exactly, it's been awful. I don't even
get it. I do want to ask you. I guess
your morning show on NBA Radio Serious XM was ripping
one of my takes. Did you hear any of it
or anything?
Speaker 12 (24:54):
No, what do you mean?
Speaker 2 (24:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
They played one of my clips. I think I was saying,
how okay, okay, see always bad for the NBA. They
were basically the Harlem Globe Trotters without the confetti.
Speaker 13 (25:07):
Oh no, I didn't hear that, But I understand what
you're saying.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Do you know what I mean? And I'm not knocking them.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
I'm not saying that they're winning as good, but but
the sports is about competition.
Speaker 13 (25:17):
It really is that. I last week we talked about
Oklahoma City and it's funny that they end up losing
the same, right, But what I said is it's not
even entertaining watching them play because a lot of times
the game is over in the second.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
Clar That's what I'm talking about, And that's what I
meant by the Uh. You know, the Globe Trotters beating
the Washington Generals every time, You know what I mean?
Speaker 13 (25:39):
Yeah, right right, and that. But it's also different because
him losing to the San Antonio Spurs, like, okay, well,
that's that's a little different because I don't think any
of us expected that, nopcially with Wimby being on the
Minister Research well.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
I think. But they're kind of a not a mirror image,
but a bunch of teams. To me, the teams to
tell me if I'm wrong any with this. The teams
that we're seeing having a lot of success. If you
look at the Pistons, you look at the Spurs, if
you look at the UH, the Thunder, there are some
teams that are doing it with a bunch of dudes,
like a platoon of dudes who don't mind playing five
minutes and twenty minutes. I don't matter if I don't score,
them score, and they're just coming in like hockey lines
(26:16):
of guys like the thunder Dude, the pe do as
opposed to having the just two guys that we've seen
over the last you know, those days are over, yeah.
Speaker 13 (26:22):
Hevin, those days are long on Those days are longest
the Big twos, Big three, And I think if we
learn anything from the NBA Finals last year, it's depth
is couint king, versatility is quan.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (26:34):
So that's what we saw from the finals last year.
What made Oklahoma City so good, what made the Indiana
Patriots so good is a lot of times when you
start to match up, as far as parody is concerned,
it becomes a war of attrition. So it becomes who
can last the longest. And when I'm running AAU shifts
platoon shifts some one through five and six through ten,
(26:56):
Like it's hard to beat that. But a lot of
teams when you're top heavy with Kevin Durant and Bradley
Beal and Devin Booker, but now everybody else doesn't work,
You're not going to with Those days.
Speaker 14 (27:08):
Are long gone.
Speaker 13 (27:09):
That's why you see the blueprint now of let's get deeper.
Let's get deeper with guys that are in between six
foot five and six foot nine, so we can switch everything.
So depth and versatility have now become the King and
Quing and the NBA as opposed to let's simply shoot
as many threes as they posably can.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Hu's a great god, Yes, Antonio. What about the Knicks
are playing against the Spurs in this NBA Cup in
Las Vegas. What do you pick up the Knicks and
where are they? Because I don't really have a feel
for them. I know they have a you know, good record,
but I don't feel like they are a step closer
to anything, especially even with you know, all the teams
(27:48):
Boston and Indiana banged out, you know for this year.
Speaker 5 (27:51):
I don't know what I'm missing something with the Knicks.
Speaker 13 (27:54):
Well, no, I mean I think they're the best team
in the East. Okay, if I have them against the
Detroit Pistons in the seven game series, I'm picking the
New York nick So right now, to me, they're the
best team in the East. But I think the best
teams in the NBA are in the West, right, because
I don't know when you look at the top three
or four teams in the Western Conference in the seven
(28:15):
game series, who I would pick the New York Knicks
to be. I wouldn't pick them to be Oklahoma City.
I wouldn't pick them to be Houston. I wouldn't pick
them to be Denver. So I mean, the thing is,
I want to see them succeed because I love Mike Brown.
I love my Brown. He was my coach here in
San Antonio. I love coach Brown. I hate the position
(28:35):
that he was put in because now it's basically, if
they don't get to the NBA Finals, it's considered an
unsuccessful season, and that's not fair to him.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Yeah, I agree he's putting. He definitely put in that
position when they let Tims go, let me ask you this,
abusus have.
Speaker 4 (28:50):
Been fired though last year.
Speaker 5 (28:51):
I'm gonna say, I'll do mister timms like that.
Speaker 13 (28:53):
They agree with that.
Speaker 15 (28:56):
Rob.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
I'm gonna say, why Antonio when and you knock off
the Celtics And I'm gonna do this quickly. Knock off
the Celtics, and their expectation was they gonna get to
the finals, and then you blow a fourteen point lead
with two fifteen to go at home, and then you
don't even follow that up. You don't even the series,
you lose Game two. I think that's when I think
(29:18):
that's when the chances of him getting fired opened up.
And then when they did those because they didn't have
this set up, they didn't have Mike Brown waiting, you
know what I mean, Like they really didn't have a
coach in waiting because they had just signed him to
an extension in the off season. And when they took
the players on the exit interviews, I think that's when
they realized, we need to make a challenge.
Speaker 13 (29:38):
And I'm not with that. And I'm gonna tell you
just a say. This is a longer topic, but we're
in the place now where we're giving guys whatever they want.
And this is why coaching is so difficult in the
NBA today because the moment I do something that you
don't like, I don't challenge the car that you think
I should challenge. Right, I'll hold you accountable, you know
(29:59):
what I me all these different things that championship coaches
are supposed to do. I can tell you the one
thing Tim's didn't do. Like we can question every coach,
but in this game that you're referencing, Tim didn't take
a shot, he didn't turn the ball over, you know,
like everything now comes back to coaches.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
But here's the other thing.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
And I hear you, but when they make shots and
they beat Boston, he got credit. And so he didn't
make a shot there, he didn't block an wots and
and he gets and he gets credit because they upset
the Celtics. So it's not it's you can't be just
one sided when the team doesn't make shots.
Speaker 13 (30:33):
Getting credit, getting credit on one side is completely different
than getting fired on the other side. Those are two
different things. Yeah, well, don't balance each other out.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
We and me and Rob argue about that. I was
on I was with you. I said, Tim's done enough.
He created something. They had a first couple of two
fifty win seasons. They were getting closer.
Speaker 4 (30:51):
I told he fired and fired the next day, and.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
I was I wasn't with it. But here, you know,
I mean, let me go to this one. Yeah, I
looked at the one of the things we we got
about a minute Togo real quick. The Lakers, they sound
like the team. We were saying, you don't want to
be anymore. A couple of guys are good and ye
that they don't have deep they're not don't have energy,
not they're not a fast team.
Speaker 5 (31:12):
What do they do?
Speaker 2 (31:13):
Do they sign themselves in the sweepstakes with something, do
they try to figure out something for Gianni's or they
just say, hey, this season is what it is.
Speaker 5 (31:19):
We just let it play out.
Speaker 13 (31:21):
Well, here's the thing with the Lakers. I think when
they play certain teams, they're exposed. And if the goal
is to reach the NBA Finals or to win the
NBA finals right now, they're not constructed to do that.
They're constructed to beat probably twenty four twenty five teams
in the NBA, but there are other teams they aren't
constructed to beat. The other teams that they aren't constructed
(31:42):
to beat are the teams that they need to beat.
The reach where they're trying to read. So, yeah, like
you look at them, you look at twenty four other teams.
They'll run through them, and that's what will give you
a good record. You'll be fifty eight and twenty four,
you know what I mean? Whatever, it may be fifty
five and twenty seven. That'll be great. But when it
comes to winning time, the teams that are not constructed
(32:03):
to beat are the teams that you're facing the postseason.
And there's one thing that we know about the NBA.
Your success or lack of success is not judge about
the regular season. It's just in the postseason.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Hey, perfect both weight ended, Ady, appreciate your man. Happy
holidays to you for.
Speaker 13 (32:18):

for Mike McDaniels. I'm trashing him because this guy has
been here for four years and he does not have
a backup plan, and it looks like the same thing
has been happening since he's been the coach here. What
kind of kind of coaching is this that you don't
(34:58):
You don't bring in a uh, you don't drop the quarterback,
you don't bring in the backup plan. I mean, you
knew what was gonna happen with Tua. I mean, the
Titanic is going down, so he should go.
Speaker 5 (35:09):
