up in about twenty eight minutes, showing power from NBA
dot Com. He's a writer columnist there at NBA dot com.
And one's gotta go as well. It's coming up before
the hour is out, and uh, the news of the day,
Rob g can you tell us the news of the

(01:31):
day which involves the New York Jetropolitans and one Aaron Glenn.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
It was drafted by the jetsmen moons Ago.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
Well, once again, Rob Parker, if you were listening to
Monti's award winning up there at the top of the hour,
you would have known this happened already.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Well, everybody's not listening, you know what I'm saying. Not
because of different reasons, not because of months or.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Because you're just talking to me and Dub in the
studio about your love life back in the day.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Oh no, no, that's what happened.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
But anyway, it's painful.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
It's painful.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Former Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn has become a topic
of discussion on this show about how much credit he
really deserves for what happened with the Detroit down the stretch.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Is the new headman in New York.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
He takes over for Robert Sala and uh, most recently
Jeff o'brook who got let go by the New York Jets,
and he will be the upcoming head coach for the
New York Jetropolitans. The only problem if you're a Jets
fan is history is not on his side because of
all the most recent Jets coaches, none of the six

(02:32):
who have come before him, Aaron Glenn that is finished
with the winning record. In fact, the last three Robert Salad,
Adam Gays, Todd Bowles have combined one winning season between them.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
As long as long as Rex Ryan didn't get the job,
I'm happy.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
I just want you to know that because just because
he got chick lits. No, that's the that's the only reason.
You can't go backwards. So the chicklet's do the two Glaringsody,
you didn't want want to see him in all these
press conferences with those chick lits. You had to stare
at they were too big, Manzi he knows, she knows,
all right, Oh you like the chick lits we're talking

(03:11):
about Rex Ryan. The teeth are too big and too white.

Speaker 6 (03:14):
They don't look real.

Speaker 7 (03:17):
I mean, he's not wrong, but it's better than having
bad teeth.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
No, I get, but you get what I'm saying him.
He has flicked the way he speaks.

Speaker 6 (03:26):
Yes, yeah, I can't get around like.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Somebody somebody who does that for a living. They gotta say,
we got to tone it down. Don't want them, you
know what I mean, He's gotta be a little yellow, just.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
A little normal.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
People's teeth aren't that white, even if people with the
best mole you're not that white.

Speaker 7 (03:46):
Yeah's all, and you're not wrong. It's just it's better
than having bad teeth.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Let's all get it.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
You know, this segment brought to you my no clear
colgates clear which I have Bye Bob Johnson's invisil line and.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Visil line is what it is. But let's go here.
Not like the teeth.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
The Lion's just lost offensive coordinator and defense and they're
gone Chicago and New York, respectively. And that's the end
of that. And now you have to ask yourself, this
was what you we We had a topic. We talked
about this, how important it was for the Lions to
win this year because things are going to be changing

(04:30):
and it ain't going to be the same. And I'm
here to tell you that I think the Lions window
has closed. And and I'm gonna give you my reasons
why because this wasn't and I'm talking about not you
can talk about being a leader of man, and he's
that raw, raw coach, and everybody wants to run through

(04:52):
the walls for him, because that's what I was told
about Rod Marinelli when he was with the Lions. And
I'm not saying that there is same coach, but that
I remember Roger Goodell coming to Detroit and talking to
Rod Marinelli, and then he met with the local media
after and he said, I'll just walk just talk to coach.

(05:13):
And I felt like after it, I wanted to put
a helmet on and run through a wall for him.
I was like, Okay, still comes down to x'es and
o's and the right people and those jobs. And Dan Campbell,
Dan Gamble, whatever you want to call him. He doesn't

(05:35):
call plays. It's not like it was him calling the
plays or whatever. He was the one going for the
crazy I agreeing to go for some of these crazy calls.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Or whatever, right because I had to go through him.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
But in this case, depending on who they get, the
chances of recapturing that magic and those three spots and
with the players you had and the coach doesn't happen.
And the last couple of times we've seen this happen,
and Philadelphia they went to the Super Bowl, they lost
both of their coordinator. Now the Lions didn't even get
to the super Bowl, but Philly went to the Super Bowl,

(06:09):
lost their two coordinators and then had a down year, right,
and they.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Faded at the end of the year. It was wound
up being bad.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
I think the Lions in this NFC North with the
guy who not only makes you and Ben Johnson not
only potentially makes the Bears better, but weakens the Lions
as well. Like it's a twofold. You got the Packers
right Minnesota. Depending on where they go, and if Sam

(06:38):
Darnold or JJ or whatever it is, they at least
we know they have a good defense. They're going to
be in the mix. This is going to be a
tough division. I think the Lions are in trouble all right.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
So on paper, you would be absolutely concerned if you
lose Aaron Glynn and if you lose Ben Johnson, not
only just because of what they brought from the coordinating standpoint,
but they've been part of the ethos right, part of
this thing, from the rebuild. So losing those guys, even
just their presence, not just like the x's and o's
of it all, absolutely is big. Will be naive to

(07:11):
underestimate that. However, one of the confident things that I
have that make me feel good is a gentleman by
the name of Brad Holmes. And if you don't know
who that is, that is the Lions executive vice president
and general manager. And he has been a massive part
of them being this rebuild number one, having the Kahunes
to say, I see Dan Campbell, who start off one

(07:32):
to nine.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
I see what we're building.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
I love what we got going sticking with them, sticking
with the plans, sticking with Aaron Glenn, sticking with Ben Johnson,
and letting that thing grow, starting to create a culture
and identity.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
This is who we are, this is what we are.

Speaker 5 (07:45):
So having him makes me feel good because the Lions
have drafted incredibly well, They've developed a year not incredibly well.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
This year they didn't have as many players who are
part of helping the team, especially once they got down
this year.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
What do you mean confused?

Speaker 5 (08:01):
What do you mean like like like because I mean
like he didn't make he didn't hit as many Oh man,
I'm saying, but I mean he's he's created where you got.
You went out and you got Jared Goff. Right, they
made the trade and he's just gonna be a stop
gap now he can see one of the better player.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
But you should also say to yourself, he committed two
hundred and twelve million that they still have to pay
Jared Golf and can Jared Goff win a Super Ball?

Speaker 5 (08:22):
So that that's the other part is But what we
talked about this all the time because we talk about quarterbacks.
I'm comfortable paying him that because hey, are you comfortable
knowing you really believe he's gonna win your Super Bowl?
I'm asking, Yeah, he's absolutely capable. Like they won't lose
because of him, like I Jared Golf, they did lose
both of him. But I'm saying Jared Golf getting winning
a Super Bowl will not be shocking to me when

(08:43):
I know all the other quarterbacks who watched really see
like Flaco has won one.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
No, but but but.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
In a lot of those situations though, uh and this
is the second time.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
I mean it's sincerely not even in an argument way.
Eli Manning is one one. He's been a better quarterback
than Eli Manning. Eli mann he had a couple of good
get no hear me. I'm saying since if I didn't
put the name, I just laid out in la man
until he's done, and Jared Goff when he's done very
well might be as well, especially if he keeps at
this rate.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
It is very likely.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
So I'm not saying he is Patrick Mahomes, but he
absolutely is a super Bowl capable of winning. Nick Foles
won a super Bowl. Like absolutely, He's capable. Keeps giving
and he keeps giving him shot himself a shot at it.
So I look at the core I'm in Ron Saint Brown.
You got Laporta, you got Golf, you got that offensive line,
which is amazing. You got Montgomery, you got Gibbs, you

(09:33):
got Williams Man. That team is loaded. You have a culture,
you have away and identity. So I absolutely don't think
their window is closed. Now what does he become a
little tighter?

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (09:45):
Is the margin of error maybe a little smaller, Yes,
But I believe they have something in the works. And
I also believe your coordinators were so good. You knew
this day was coming. It almost came last year, but
Ben Johnson said, we got something we want to finish.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
But they didn't finish the job.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
But I'm saying, so you're already preparing for his exit. No, no,
knowing he could have left and then most maybe other
people would have left. Last year he said, I'm gonna
stick around. We got a job to finish. They didn't
get ultimately didn't finish it. But I'm saying, you knew
he was going for that was even a question. Yeah,
but that's but but that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
That's the worst part is that they didn't get to
where they needed. In fact, they took a step back
with a team that went fifteen and two. Are they
going fifteen and two again? They don't have to. They
don't have They have one of the toughest schedules as well.
Last year they had a queam cup a cupcake schedule
that I'm just looking at it. I got a sweet

(10:39):
tooth just looking at that schedule. And they beat up everybody.
They beat up everybody league in office. They Franchi gonna
be the case this year, and now you're gonna have
a transition because no one's gonna come in and complete
and do the same thing that Ben Johnson did.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
But they literally don't have to though, like fIF fifteen
and two, and they don't duplicate that.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
That's fine.

Speaker 5 (11:03):
They go twelve and five getting the postseason. Now you're
in the thing about your number one seed that had
to go through it.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
But that's a big difference.

Speaker 5 (11:10):
No, no, but it's but it's fine, literally, like people
win the super Bowl at the time, not being a
number one seed. That happens, or if you or if
you are number one seed, but you just you didn't
go fifteen and two.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Maybe you're number one seed because you're sitting there at
thirteen about how important that was and now it's not or.

Speaker 5 (11:25):
No, And what I'm saying is who doesn't want it,
But it's not the ultimate.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
You have to have it.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
Maybe they go fourteen and three, maybe they go thirteen
and four. My point is they have to stay in seven.
If they get in the tournament, that's all that matters.
And for the first time in a long time, and
you should know this because you were there for twenty years,
the fact that they have expectations, the fact that they're
expected to get to the postseason year in, you're out
is remarkable in and of itself, and I mean that sincerely.

(11:53):
The fact that they have created something where y're in
year out for at least probably gonna be a five
six seven year run.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
You just don't think that that the expectations for them
to get that's crazy five or seven after these years.
So like two, we've already done two.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
Next three to four years, yes, absolutely, the next three
to four years. The Lion's getting in the postseason is
minimally the expectation.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
You see the Lions not making a postseason this year,
and I'm coming this coming year and put some wings
on that.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Let's let's put wings on to rob You remember this bet.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Write that down, because Robber, you to look at them
like Philadelphia. Like Philadelphia, losing both coordinators and that the
transition that has to take place and not having the
easy schedule that they had a year ago. All these
things will factor in. And now maybe Dan Kim wants
to be a little more involved.

Speaker 5 (12:40):
No way, if they're losing seven eighth straight or whatever
like the Eagles did. I didn't say that, but what
I'm saying is the Eagles started off good like that
we thought they would.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Maybe they won't even start off good and just struggle. Now,
so I'll take that bet aty Okay, let's do it.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
We got wings on the Lions making the postseason next year.
Write that down. Rob G, Yes, that will be easy.
I like Louisiana, rup just like.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
The just like they were going to be Washington, and
I was I didn't believe the pick that I made
because I was just saying.

Speaker 5 (13:08):
I'm not giving you that you picked against the Lions
eight out of nine times.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Rob G literally confirmed it. Rob G, did I not
pick that game? I knew picked that. You picked the Lions.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
You picked the Lions once this season, you picked it
one one out of nine. We got receipts. We got receipts,
and they lost that game. So the whole point is,
you're right. You picked them as much as you picked
the Dodgers exactly, so much so Alex that he would
have been right. You solf stubborn.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
You would have been right if you would have just
stuck with the Dodgers pick because you.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Had to get out of it and then they ended
up winning it. No, you would have been right, But
the Lions were.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
That was the biggest game that mattered, and that's the
one I got right.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
It's always the.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
Dodgers got to the World Series winning I was a
bigger than them winning a divisional game.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
I was Eli manning when it came down.

Speaker 5 (13:56):
No, you had a chance the Dodgers, and it said, Rob,
do you I've take me off the Dodgers and they
mess around and one.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
You know, Rob calls out of Eli man. You know
what that means, Rob was don't like you either. That's right,
Rob Woodson, don't like you all right?

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Is the Lions
Super Bowl window already closed?

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Nope, I say yes, said breeze window. That conversation next
with you.

ninety nine on Fox, So we got all.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Right, let's kick it off with Ed in Nevada. You're
on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
What's up?

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Ed?

Speaker 8 (15:46):
I wan't even know why nobody ever holds John Harbor
to task. Okay, huge Ravens fan, and I don't want
to fire it, but he needs to don't supervision?

Speaker 9 (15:59):
Well, Hey, part of it is the first two points
they tried.

Speaker 8 (16:06):
There's no reason to go for two points at that point.

Speaker 5 (16:09):
And said he don't want to talk about the Lions.
We have been waiting to have been waiting. We got you, man,
I don't care if his last time.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
I'm getting mad. And I'm sure you celebrated when they
won the Super Bowl. A couple of these. I mean,
they got a couple within the.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Organization in Ohio. You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
What's up, Nate? What's up?

Speaker 7 (16:29):
Brother?

Speaker 3 (16:29):
Who you got? What's up?

Speaker 10 (16:32):
My windows still open. I look at him towards like
a Cincinnati type team because they have Joe Burrown Chase
and they all they have a guy that they took
over Chase rather the Lions took to Nay. So as
long as they have somebody protecting Golf and I'm on
Saint Brown on the other side throwing two, the defense

(16:55):
is there. Sutch's is going to come back.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
They They're not going to have the cupcake schedule. They're
gonna have defense. That's not why they lost. They lost
because Jared Golf threw the ball to the other two
of the defense.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
They did not. They did did not.

Speaker 10 (17:12):
I think it's literally a good comp comparing them to
Cincinnati because Cincinnati had their run.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
No, but Cincinnati got to the super Bowl. That's what
you don't understand.

Speaker 10 (17:24):
Yeah, I was, I was a season ticket holder.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
I was Okay, so they got to the super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
They're not trying to get to the super Bowl with
Jared Golf who went to the Super Bowl and that
team got rid of him because they didn't believe he
can win a bisters got.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
Put some respect on his name. Now he'd been to
a super Bowl and Dagne, if it wasn't for a
few players, would have got to another one. He was
impressive ride.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 5 (17:46):
I'm saying, going to one and it almost going to another. No,
what he got to do?

Speaker 1 (17:49):
You remember what happened in that game with New Orleans
with the terrible call.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
That's how they got to the super Bowl. They didn't
win it.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
They got the fact that you can almost get the
super regularly. Why do you not like that? Like that's
a great thing for me to have a chance every year.
What I'm saying is one of the worst. If you
got a chance regularly to have a shot to get
the soup, that's literally all you can ask is a
chance every year.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
You gotta win, agree, just like you to sit there
all you want. They went to four sup.

Speaker 5 (18:20):
Make sure you have the same energy for Lamar Jackson
because you don't have that saying with Lamar, it's oh,
he's gonna get there, He's gonna get there one day.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
It's the same thing. In fact, Jared Goff already been
to one.

Speaker 5 (18:32):
Jared Golf wins an MVP. I'll have that conversation. It's
the same thing that get to the super Bowl on
that level.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Get there, Jay, we got You're on the CJ Fox
Sports Radio, and all lines people do the same thing.
Theyve into the super Bowl. It's criminal. Go ahead.

Speaker 11 (18:49):
Yeah, first off, I love the show, but you love
the show anyways. I do agree with both of you guys.
Do I think the lines are super Bowl contenders? No,
but they playoff contenders. Yes. And one last thing, Joe
Burrow mark my words, he's going to be a contender

(19:09):
the next five to six years. So Lamar probably won't
have his chance at the super Bowl.

Speaker 12 (19:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
If they keep that same defense that they have, Cincinnati
ain't winning anything.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
I'm telling you that. Dre and moon Agan, what's couple
of Fox Sports Radio? What's up?

Speaker 12 (19:25):
Well?

Speaker 9 (19:25):
So tho fellas they knew I had to call on
this one.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
No, I know because you told me that they were
going to beat Washington and I was wrong.

Speaker 9 (19:33):
I didn't know. I did not brother, I did not
say that.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Oh I thought that was you know, it ain't nothing
wrong if you did. Go ahead, right?

Speaker 9 (19:39):
No, hey, But before I get to my point, I
was supposed to this. The other day, I had to
give a shout out to my daughter Aaron because he
made the Dean List.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Nice marvels off.

Speaker 9 (19:49):
She's only sixteen and she tested out of high school
and she's taking all college of credit.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
I love it.

Speaker 9 (19:53):
It's our first time. So awesome, baby girl. You make
Daddy proud.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
I saw it.

Speaker 9 (19:58):
Yeah, thank you. But yeah, the door is not closed.
But it's just a little draft.

Speaker 12 (20:03):
It's not this.

Speaker 9 (20:04):
I think we had one of those opportunities like the
Saints did, when you had that one opportunity to get
a Super Bowl, and we need didn't take it. And
I know all my friends are tidam hear me say this,
But that's why when we played San Francisco, you go
for the points and not No.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
You can keep saying it because you're right.

Speaker 9 (20:22):
You know what I'm saying. We had that opportunity to
go to Super Bowl. We've never been and I still
will always say Dan Kevill robbed us so going to
the Super no doubt.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
I want to argue with you on that one. Absolutely
he knew it that night. He knew it. He even
said no, he knew it without a doubt. There ain't.
There's nowhere around that. I was in real time. Seventeen
points at the half. I'm sorry.

Speaker 5 (20:42):
There's a point where you are to go wheel of
a team and if you just keep coming down scoring,
whether it's three, whether or not, they're like, god.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
Well we won't move the ball.

Speaker 5 (20:50):
That they weren't moving the ball right now with what's trending.
We got Sean Paul on the other.

Speaker 6 (20:55):
Side, Shann Paul, the singer Jean Powell.

Speaker 3 (20:57):

Speaker 6 (21:10):
He had on with Beyonce.

Speaker 3 (21:16):

day we yearning, not concerned. We got that. We're not
showing paulsing that yes so good?

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Hey, yeah got that gave got up to me, Yeah,
you don't remember this.

Speaker 6 (21:33):
You were like, how old are you make me anymore?

Speaker 3 (21:36):
She was like, I'm thirty.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
Rod was like, never mind, Hey remember the first hit,
but I don't remember this.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
You know this one? Come on, Rob, Hey, I got back.
I said that guy him the day I gave it up,
said all right, what is this?

Speaker 9 (21:54):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (21:54):
This is the one rough kiss the y this song.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
Hey, that's the one that took him to the moon
right here, Rob, that's hy uh No, I got that that.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
I've got that. Oh no that Manzi's.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Update is all, oh, that's show work so good.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
That's great. Out What is this w JLB in de.

Speaker 6 (22:16):
Chey Hivey for a couple more minutes, Yes.

Speaker 7 (22:19):
Show, Paul was le robj it was the arrow, yes, sir,
And we don't have anything like that anymore.

Speaker 6 (22:24):
All right, let's check in on what's going on in
the NBA right now.

Speaker 7 (22:27):
Pistons all over the Hawks sixty four forty five late
in the second quarter. Just like the Suns, who are
beating the Nets forty nine to thirty eight, the Mavericks
are losing at home to the Timberwolve forty Timberwolves forty
to thirty eight, with five minutes to go in the
first half. Kyrie Irving has officially surpassed eighteen thousand career points.
He has six so far in this one. The Cavaliers

(22:48):
and the Rockets are tied at twenty seven. Late in
the first quarter, the Grizzlies are beating the Hornets twenty
nine to twenty one. Also late in the first the
Thunder and the Jazz, with the Jazz on top twenty
six to twenty five, but Shae Giljes Alexander has eleven
points so far. Jimmy Butler is being suspended once again
by the Miami Heat for two games. He missed a
team flight today, so he's gonna miss tomorrow's game at

(23:08):
Milwaukee and Saturday's game at Brooklyn. But the Bucks Pelicans
game that I was scheduled for today postponed due to
the historic winter storm that is happening in the New
Orleans area. In men's college hoops, number five Florida losing
to South Carolina fifty eight to fifty one less than
eight minutes to go in the game, TCU is losing
to number twelve Kansas forty nine forty eight halfway through

(23:28):
the second half and on FS one you can watch
Xavier beating number twenty Saint John's fifty two to forty
four with about ten minutes to go on the ice.
The Devils are beating the Bruins two to one twelve
minutes to go in the second period. And after the
first period, the Blue Jackets are on top of the
maple leaves one zero. And yes, the Lions are saying
goodbye to defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.

Speaker 6 (23:49):
He is headed to New York to be the new
head coach.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
And also they're saying bye to the playoffs. Oh no, That'slmonzi.

Speaker 11 (23:57):
Yeah, I don't know, just.

Speaker 6 (23:59):
Because they're losing out to their coordinators.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
Monty, there's one thing you should know about me, you
how many It's how white I am on a lot
of time.

Speaker 6 (24:09):
Yeah, you're right, you're right.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
I was write so many times that Chris had to
leave the show. Did you know that? That ain't there?

Speaker 5 (24:20):
You go, you can't do that. That's just that every
time I hear that. All right, Monty, thank you for
coming to your law for the time. Rack dot Com
Studio joining us now. Joining us now is not Seawan Paul,
not but for today he is shunning Paul for the
purposes of us hearing this song one more time, Sean Paul,

(24:40):
NBA dot com writer pole to the people on X.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
But he's he's jamming too right now. I can see
him already driving in his car dancing. What's up, Sean, No.

Speaker 12 (24:49):
Paul, it looks like you guys are having a lot
of fun.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Listen. We got to because otherwise we would go crazy
with your boy Rob over here.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
We gotta have some shot. You know, you know I
handle lot. I take care of business, that's all. How
are you body?

Speaker 12 (25:06):
I know how you roll?

Speaker 1 (25:07):
You know you already know, no doubt. Hey, great to
have you. Let's talk some NBA and let's start here
with the Jimmy Butler thing. I love what pat Riley's doing.
I just think Jimmy Butler's trying to put a gun
to the Heat's head and he wants money. He's thirty
five years old, trying to force him into something. And now,

(25:28):
once you become unprofessional and you don't do what you
should be I don't blame the Heat for doing what
they've done.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Sean.

Speaker 12 (25:36):
Yeah, well, I think if you look around the thirty
team league, it's probably maybe just one general manager who
you cannot mess with and that's pat Riley. And I
say that because his job's not on the line.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
Yep.

Speaker 12 (25:50):
He's already had this championship, he's got his legacy. There's
nothing you can do to sort of, you know, throw
him by the wayside. He has no weakness. If you
don't try to play that game against pat Rally, you're
going to lose.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
Uh.

Speaker 12 (26:03):
And so I think in this situation, I agree with you, Rob.
There's a way to go about things and there's a
way not to go about things. I just think if
he had handled his business then professional, what did pat
Rally say, Hey, it's not working out whatever, thank you,
they would have done. They would have done what's best
for the team and made maybe by extension, they might
have done what's best for Jimmy. Look at the way

(26:24):
Damon Little handled the situation in Portland. He wanted out. Well,
the Blazers did what's best for them and by the
way Dame landed with Giannis.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (26:35):
I just think there's the way you go about things.
I don't think Timmy about this doing that.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (26:38):
I mean my only thing would be one do we
actually know if he and pat had a conversation, not
prior to or at least gm uh. And then also
why he made it took a public That's how you
know that there wasn't the right way of handling, right.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
But I'm saying, we don't know what I'm saying right.

Speaker 5 (26:54):
What I'm saying is if it was already discussed prior,
meaning like if his agent, Hey guys, we're just you know,
looking at the we're thinking about that and had a conversation.
But so there's that on that I want to I
want to go to One of the conversations we've been
having about is the Lakers, and is a longer conversation
we have, but you got lebron Ady even JJ Reddick
talking about, Hey, this team right now is not constructed enough.

(27:17):
You know, we're not We don't have a team enough
that can really compete, and they're disappointing around Reeg is
an All Star playing like an all Yeah connect now
you don't like connect forward to on any streets? What
do you make of the Lakers right now? And kind
of also them all publicly saying we ain't got enough.

Speaker 12 (27:33):
Well, they're publicly saying what we can all see. I mean,
I don't think they're really breaking news there. Do they
have enough to make the playoffs? Of course they have
those met playoffs. Do they have enough to maybe win
a first round all depending on who the matched up? Perhaps,
but no, this is not a championships constructed team. And
by the way, it's kind of hard to do. It's
not like you can wave a magic wand and get

(27:55):
them a big time third wheel, particularly when every year
I think they're at the bottom. Okay, you got lucky
with connects fell to you, but for the most part,
it's hard to build a team or latch on, I mean,
to add to a team unless you know you're far
under the cap, or you luck into a discruntled veteran

(28:15):
like a Jimmy Butler type who just wants to leave town. Okay,
it's very difficult to do.

Speaker 10 (28:21):
So.

Speaker 12 (28:21):
Look, as long as Lebron is on that team, their
championship for bus. I mean, that's the way it is.
But I don't think it's going to happen this year
for the Lakers, and I don't think there's anything they
can do realistically to put themselves up as like Loma City, Boston, Cleveland.
I just don't think it's gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
Sure, let's go to the Warriors. You smell that that
is the Golden State Warriors.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Yeah, and my god, they just had a forty point
loss at home, obviously the worst loss in the Steve
Kurry era. Steve looks like he's like, I don't know,
sitting on the bench, like he's got an issue going on.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
It is so bad.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
How surprised are you because they got actually got off
to a good start and people were saying Klay Thompson
who at the beginning of the season, and they look
pretty bad now, Sean.

Speaker 12 (29:16):
Yeah, I think that's going to have to sit down
and have a long top of step and they're going
to have to be that Talk's got to be real.
It's got to be one hundred and they've got to
stay this deep. Hey, look, we've had a great run.
You've got your MVPs and everything, but we're going to
endure some tough times and by the time we get
out of it, you know, you're probably going to be
past your problem. You're probably not even going to be
our best player. But they're going to have to have

(29:37):
that talk with them and they're going to ask them, hey,
do you want in or do you want out? Do
you want to stay at one team the rest of
your career. Hey, that'll be great. But if you want out,
we will put you. We will do that for you.
We will put you in a position where you can win.
But he's not going to win. And by the way,
I want to take this a little bit further. So
you know, last summer at the Paris Olympics, you had Lebron,
Steph and KD. And how great it was for these guys,

(30:00):
you know, legacy, you know Hall of Fame logs, you know,
probably top ten, top fifteen for all of them. Whatever.
We look at him this season, Lebron, he's no close
to a championship death. He's struggling. And let's not even
get into where KD is with the Phoenix Suns. I mean,
these three players, you know, I think they probably maxed

(30:20):
out in terms of championships. I don't unless something miraculous happens,
I don't think either this wee are going to win
another championship.

Speaker 5 (30:28):
He's Sean Paul of Cole Powell with the NBA dot
Com Sean de Paul. I know, Sean Powell sewn. You
just you just let me do something. Though, So if
you say that, which I totally get right, KD is
not looking great. Warriors, Then who looks like outside of
maybe Cleveland and OKC, a team that you would say
can win this thing?

Speaker 3 (30:48):
Because to me, I still feel like, aside from them too.

Speaker 5 (30:50):
It's kind of wide open, like there's nobody that, like
you said earlier, if the Lakers were to get into
the playoffs, aside from maybe you know, Oga Denver, like,
because they have had their numbers, they can beat some
teams if they're healthy. So who do you say are
some other favorites to win this team? Because I kind
of feel like it's kind of open outside of again Cleveland, OKC.

Speaker 12 (31:11):
Yeah, but how soon we forget about the defending champion?
And I know they're not the Celtics, you know, haven't
looked that great since the calendar flit to twenty twenty five.
But obviously you know they've got what it takes. They
you know, they're proven winners. Everybody's healthy, and I think
in the seven game series, they're going to be tougher beat,

(31:31):
tough to beat in the East. And I say that
the same thing with Cleveland. I think the favorite team
in the East is not the team that's leading the East,
right now I say it's a box of Celtics and
of course, look there's always a wildcard. Well, the Knicks
get it together. I mean, who knows, you know, somebody
could could Denver because they've got the best player in
the NBA. I mean with the Jokich, could Jamal Murray

(31:53):
get together? Who knows? There could be some sleeper team
in there, you know. But I agree with you. I
say Mahome in city, I say Cleveland. I'll throw Boston
in there, even though they're not playing well, they're the
defending champion. But for the most part, I agree, it's
wide open.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
Trump. Last thing we got less than a minute. The Knicks.
Where are they?

Speaker 1 (32:12):
I mean, obviously they got Kat the third in the
Eastern Conference twenty nine and sixteen coming into tonight.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Are they better than they were a year ago or
about the same.

Speaker 12 (32:24):
I don't know. We I don't know that we know yet. Rob.
We have to see in the playoffs. And I know
that's not me, you know, like you know, escaping it
with your question the right, but we have to see
what Michael Bridges can do, because he's been really up
and down since the Knicks gave up everything to get him.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
Yeah, people thought that was the magical Elexa when they
got him right, that that glue man, that Igua Dollar like.

Speaker 12 (32:46):
Guy, exactly. I love what Carl asking Town is bringing.
I think he's an MVP contender. But every player in
that team, let me just say no, playing that team
is truly in the playoffs. They've not been to the
prom plan've not been to the NBA finals. Until they
get there, I think there's always going to be some doubts.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
All right, we will have to wait and see.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
Hopefully, obviously all these good football wins will finally kind
of lock down.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
Let's start watching the NBA. Everybody, get back to a
Sean my Man Powell. Thank you man. You can find
him at Powell two. The people on X We appreciate you, man, Thank.

Even number figure it out to hear me out.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
All right, it's time for ones.

Speaker 11 (35:02):
Gotta go.

Speaker 5 (35:02):
Mansei, you're in on this one too, especially because you
were jamming so you heard Sean Paul earlier and you say, well,
what is it this week, Kevin, I'll tell you what
it is.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
It's runs.

Speaker 5 (35:10):
Rob g and I like to sometimes sit back there
and go back to our glory years and when we
were out in the streets having fun and all that
good stuff. And one of the eras in which we
talked about is like the early mid two thousands. I'm
a list of people who had some runs and Rob,
you were still a young man at this point, Rob Parker,
and you were having a good one, or at least
the girls you liked were having a great time with these.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Now you say, what's the tie in, I'll tell you.
Nelly caught a lot.

Speaker 5 (35:31):
Of fleck over the weekend because Nelly performed for a
Donald Trump event throughout the inauguration weekend, all the festivities
and got a lot of fleck. A lot of people
upset with that. He say Hey man, I'm just here
to do this. He already won. I'm not making an endorsement.
So because of Nelly, Nelly is on this list.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Shun Paul.

Speaker 5 (35:52):
You have Nelly, you have t Paine, you have Ludacris,
and you have a kN All had great runs in
the two thousands.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
All had smashed number one hits and just had their runs.

Speaker 5 (36:05):
And so one has to go between Akon, Luda, t Pay,
Nelly and Sean Paul, Rob g this is peak you,
no kids, a tequila choice, acting like you can dance
out on the dance floor no shirt, no shirt in Vegas.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
How come that's not racist? He said tequila. That's racist
that you would associated Yeah, that is true. I was
gonna say that about you. Why people like tequila too? Right? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (36:34):
Now, if I just kept going around the room, it
was like Rob Hennessy and then then we know it
would have really got a little crazy.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
All right, this is this is the toughest one. We've
ever done this for you, especial because this is your
this is you, no shirt, megas. Emotional attachment to every
one of these artists. I can imagine a party or
somewhere that was that where one song Game one and.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
It was hard yep for me. It's working in radio
music radi at the time. God, if I got to
get rid.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
Of one's Sean Paul.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
Oh, I don't want to do it. I didn't want
to do it, but.

Speaker 13 (37:05):
Like Sean Paul was great. But this is can't I
can't skip and this is it hurts yo, it hurts
my heart to say that. Oh man, I'm not I'm
gonna be honest. Working out four or five months hour
long has been you threw a haymaker.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
I didn't see that one. God, I didn't see it
coming either. I wish we would have had on the list.
I'm gonna say this, and you were in this air,
so this is you trying to you know, hey, how
you doing? You come here off? I'm gonna say, Acorn
is your sideways? Because wait a minute, isn't that where
Steve mc a McNair played. Oh that was out there?
Give it? Just cut off his what you got? I

(37:42):
just told you he cord on hey coat. All right,
I'm not mad. I mean okay, I mean they smacked
that energy. He did not not did something. Rob is
the only one who does something for black people.

Speaker 10 (37:57):
You know that.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
MLB, everybody. He's got a coon, a coon and young
geez who you got Manzi?

Speaker 6 (38:08):
I think I'm with Bron Parker on this w I
don't want im with They all keep a memory?

Speaker 5 (38:17):
Need I need, I need a montage. I need some
songs of Acon throughout, just to remind all your minds.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
Just can't find any. Even on the had a one
of his biggest club ones, like.

Speaker 14 (38:36):
Come on rock, that's a good this is this is
what's funny, dude, That's what I'm saying you guys, Hey,
how do you not remember with eminem look back.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
And watching this back then? This is not a watch
on Wednesday. No, it's definitely changing the last hour.

Speaker 12 (38:58):
It's not a.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
Dude. This is the easiest one you've ever asked on
this Ludicris.

Speaker 10 (39:03):
That is terrible.

Speaker 15 (39:05):
He has one good song? What listen, listen, let me explain.
He's so bad he had to act. That's how bad
the singer he is. He literally had to save his career.
Tell me I'm wrong, Gods, one song and one part
I remember it looks like a midget hanging on my
want to tell you get terrible, terrible.

Speaker 5 (39:24):
Doating boat, terrible Saturday. Okay, okay, all right, so I
guess it's on me. This was tough.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
I feel like you robbed because this is peace so mad.

Speaker 5 (39:33):
This is paid up on the radio like music radio era,
hosting every party, every club, and every one of these
artists had to run.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
Yes, but it's a kon hard time. I have to
oh this not a banker though, to say that you
can't even sing it? Don't singing dancing peak you my shadows?

(40:02):
Why not jump up in mamas and forgave me and
kicking like what rock like TIMEO and plus also leave
and Jim, what are you doing?

Speaker 7 (40:12):
Rhymes back in that me smack dag smack, you can't
smack and you kick them out.
