And don't forget ache, knee, stiff, back joints not cooperating
some days, your body just is like nope.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
And on those days, luckily there's a leave, just one pill.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
A leave provides up to twelve hours of pain relief
so that you keep moving, use as directed, don't forget.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Coming up in about twenty eight minutes, TJ.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Houschman's out of course, the former Pro Bowl wide receiver
and co host of Up on Game Here on Fox
Sports Radio, will do that and much more. But let's
go here to the Detroit Lions, and Kelvin gave a
His prediction was that the Lions were going to the
super Bowl. And I could not have disagreed more. And
(01:53):
I predicted that this would be a bad and off
season for the Lions for a lot of reasons, including
this schedule, changing coordinators. And I did say to you
on Friday that this was the lock, Rob G. Did
I not say, like this game the Packers and the Lions,
this was the lock. The Lions had won eight well
eight to no on the.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Road last year.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
I just knew what the whole micah and what was
going on that they were going to get a buzz saw.
But this is this is more about what's going to
come forward. That game was just did they show up?
Like I was really the Lions. They were flat, the
(02:34):
packers jumped on them and then just had to basically cool.
The Lions did not score a touchdown until the final
what was that final minute? Like like they were what.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Was that there?
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Yeah, the last little and saying catch it it was
it was partly I call them pointless points.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Yeah, it just it just was not there.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
And with the sticky gloves. I look at those catches,
they don't do anything from me. I don't even rob
gy on me that that that catch. Everybody looking at that,
I don't do it. So what's the what's the next iteration?
And what hasn't didn't happen? No, catches just start looking
good again, easy when they don't have gloves on. When
they don't have gloves.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
In the barbaric they're not going back in time? Why not?
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Because them laces split people's hands open.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Now, if you can catch a ball like that with
no sticky gloves on, it'll be a different story.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
But I'm gonna tell.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
You, if you're a Lions fan, you should be concerned.
And I'm not talking about just one game. This is
a precursor. Look at the schedule on what they have
coming up. The division is tougher. There's a lot of
stuff to look at. Jared Golf. We've we've seen the show,
we've seen the act and and Ben Johnson is now
(03:43):
in Chicago, right, and we saw the offense.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
What do you think of the offensive play calling yesterday?
Speaker 5 (03:49):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (03:49):
Absolutely was beyond conservative and boring. And you can tell
the difference. And here's here's the other part.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
There's no denying we.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Talked about this the offensive line. Hello, did you see
the offensive line?
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Don't you have?
Speaker 1 (04:05):
You have two new players on the offensive line. You
had one of their long standing Yeah, tired who were
tired on them? Like unexpectedly?
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Right? And who do they just lose today? Right? Then?
They just lose another offensive lineman today for the season.
Uh yeah, brother, I forgot I get his name. But anyway, God,
you get my point.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
There are just a lot of things here and that
I don't like about the Lions going forward. And I
really believe and I know you thought I was just
being just being rob and going crazy when I said
that they're not gonna make them. I'm not the only one.
I've seen a couple other analysts out there, which was
interesting to me. But I was like one of the
(04:49):
first ones. Rob g I'm gonna take credit, but I
have seen a few other who have now started to
say that they also think the Lions will take a
major step back.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
And you yesterday was to me was like proof pose.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
When I watched that and I looked at I said,
this is what I thought I was going to see.
Where the offense wasn't going to be the same what
Ben Johnson did with that offense the last few years.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
I don't think that you could.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Just say it's just the players and without him it
doesn't matter. He didn't get the job in Chicago because
it was just the players and nobody thinks what he
does matters.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
And I think that's what you have to.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Be afraid of if you're the Lions, and whether or
not Jared Goff without him, because Ben Johnson has helped
as you were just talking about in Minnesota, has helped
people turn it around, and the same thing Jared Goff.
I don't know what quarterback he's really going to be
or if he's going to be more of the same.
(05:49):
And obviously, if you don't have an offensive line to
help protect you, you're gonna be in trouble.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
That's more concerning with Jared Goff because what we're seeing
now the new model of quarterback, you gotta be mobile.
That's like a standard now that comes with it. It
used to be wil an anomaly. This quarterback can run.
Now everybody can run. You why Bowen now pick bow Knicks,
Josh Alla, Lamar Jackson. You know, even Russell Wilson still
(06:14):
having to mobiley Patrick Mahomes can run.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
I mean, going on and on.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Jared Goff is one of the last standing up QB's
traditional nineteen eighties style of quarterback, nineties style of quarterback.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
So if you don't have an offensive line, that's concerning.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
However, where I actually look at this, this is where
we looked at it differently. I looked at the Packers
and said, that was a top six defense when it
came to scoring. I believe that was a top ten
in just about every category. Defensively, very young, got really
good linebackers they can get after the quarterback, and they
added Michael Parsons. And then also you have, of course
(06:46):
with the young receivers that are growing coming of age
mixed with love there Jordan love so to me, I
looked at the Packers and I was like, man, the
Packers look like they're about business. The Packers look like
they want to win this division and obviously see where
they go in the now. A couple of things I
don't agree with you on or not only say a Greek.
We'll have to wait and see when it comes to
(07:06):
the division, because on paper, I hear what you're saying at.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
The Bear, I don't know that the Bears are gonna
be good. I gotta see.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
Also the Vikings they went what fourteen and three, so
they I absolutely should be taking a step back now
that they should be terrible. But I don't expect them
to be fourteen and three, So meaning the Lions aren't
competing with last year's Vikings, they're not competing with the
Bears because we don't know what the Bears are. The
Packers absolutely, I expect them to be a postseason team
before any of this happened, and now it looks like
(07:33):
they should be for sure. The concern for the Lions
is getting back to what they do best is running
the ball, because that creates everything. That's the thing that
creates everything for them. If they can't run the ball,
then they can't get the play action, then they can't
get the separation and you know that's how they had.
The fear of the run is what makes every other
team struggle with them. So I expect them to be better.
(07:56):
Do they have to be as explosive as they were
last year where they've been top they were the best
offense last year, a top five the duration of Ben Johnson. No,
but they absolutely can't be that. And I think we
saw the worst version of them yesterday. They went to
a hostile environment where they had won four or five.
They finally you know, they spend on a time in Detroit,
they turned it tight. They never win in Lambo. The
fact that they could go on to Lambo. Yeah, but
(08:17):
it's not just that they lost.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Did you watch the Okay, that's what should be disturbed.
Not You could play a good game and lose and
people don't look at it like that, Like where were
they for the opening game? And in a big game,
your offensive vanilla? You can't run the ball. Jared golf
and turns into Jared Tennant.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
He get the other side of the all too defensively,
they gave up.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
The Packers didn't have to have a lot of yards
like Jordan Love didn't have to have three hundred and
eighty five yards. They just gave a big place, simple
as that.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Boom boom.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
Both of the coordinators are going in their adjusting, and
you went to a you started off with a really
good team at the end of the season could be
potentially a great team. So they didn't get it easy
when we got to go play the Panthers and you know,
get our feet wet and kind of find our footing.
Y'all went to a hostile place that has Super Bowl aspirations,
a team that's tired of losing to y'all, got a
new player, got some juice and got smizz act.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
He only had thirty snaps that shouldn't have been the
the juice I'm talking about the city.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
I think I'm just saying like he didn't have that,
he had a second place.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
He had.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
What he had though, he had plays with.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
When we were talking about this on Friday, if you
look at Jared Goff's interception, that was Michael Parsons. He
blew through the line, gotten Jared face. Jared Goff threw
it like that interception. Michael Parsons has a luxury. This
is what I was saying. He has a luxury being
a von Miller, you just add me. You already got
are down, You already got players and everything. The offense
should be good. Let me just go make three four
(09:49):
special plays a game. That's all I gotta do. And
Micah is in that. He doesn't have to be. You know,
even Reggie White and everybody keep comparing Rega. They gotta
settle down. So all these things you talk, all that
being said, you still got them in the super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
You still think you know, No, I know, but I'm
just saying.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
When you look at the and it's just being sincere,
I think we saw the you saw offensive defensive coordinator
in the first game against a really good team, great team.
They have to get their footing, they have to go,
oh shoot, welcome to the NFL.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Well, but that's the tough part.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
And a lot of people here's why a lot of
people are also.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Down on the Lions.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
You know, hiring inside the building, hiring people who you know,
without going out and going to get the best offensive
coordinator available.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
You're the Lions. You're supposed to be making this run.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Here's your window of opportunity that it's nice to promote within.
But why aren't you saying no, who's the best offensive
coordinator out there, who's the best defensive coordinator? Okay, who's
out there? Like there's somebody else out there who's from there.
The Lions just decided, oh well, he's in the office
next door. Let's just get this guy. And it doesn't
(11:02):
mean that it can't work out, but it also means
that it might not work out and there was somebody better,
with more experience who could have come in because you can't.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Here's the problem with the Lions. You don't have time.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
As you talk about the adjustment, like a window closes
pretty quick.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
This is year three. You've already squandered two or no,
I'm talking about where you're supposed to be really good,
they've already squandered too.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
I just think what we saw was the worst version
of them. I'd expect that offense to still. They're too
talented on offense to not get it back. Do they
have to be the number one offense like they were,
number one point differential like they were last year as well? No,
they don't have to be that, but they're absolutely going
to be able to find their footing. They have too
much talent and I expect them to be more, if anything,
(11:52):
also be tougher, because that's what they have also been
throughout this tenure with Dan Campbell. So to me, the
Packers came out and show why we get our whole
list of players who everybody picked, handful of people here
picked the Packers to win it.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
I see they absolutely.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
So you looked at that game and looked at the Packers,
That's what you came away with, Not how poorly the
Lions played.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
No, I looked at the Packers on special. I looked
at the Lions as saying, y'all got smacked up by
a team who y'all better respect than take serious in
his division because they're trying to take this division and
go into postseason. But also looked at the Lions and said,
y'all play scared. Y'all played conservatively, and the defense came in.
They came in filling themselves. Rob They came in. We've
been we've been controlling y'all, controlling the division. We smack
(12:37):
y'all up. We got this. They came in smelling themselves.
Defense getting Rod receivers wide open. Here's what you should
be afraid of.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Really, Jared Goff has had five different play callers in
his NFL career under three not named Sean McVay or
Ben Johnson.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
You ready for his record? What is it?
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Three to twenty one and one. Those are the three though.
The other three guys. So when he was with Sean
McVay and with Ben Johnson, those guys were able to
get the best out of Jared Goff. There's been a
lot of bad Jared Goff foot.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
I'll tell you why I'm not worried about that. A lot,
And we saw a little bit of that yesterday. I'll
tell you why I'm not worried about that.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
That was the beginning of when he got there with
Detroit and then the Dan Campbell. They didn't have an ethos,
they didn't have a thing that they do. They didn't
have the talent around them. They had the All these
guys are young. Laporta, Gibbs, Montgomery kind of you know,
we'll call them a veteran, but all of these guys
are younger. They had to grow. Now they have the continuity,
they have the offense, they have the talent. They have
(13:36):
who we are through Dan Campbell. So that doesn't apply
to me as much as if what if Dan Campbell's
first year offensive coordinator first year. Jared Goff just got
to Detroit. I'll be worried about that. I would, I'm not.
I would actually be disappointed if what we saw yesterday
is replicated next week and the next week, next week,
because that just doesn't make sense. They're too good, they're
too talented. You've had the same continuity from GM to coach.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
He would fall off, you know, to fall off.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
But I don't expect them to fall off. No, I
don't expect them to go from fifteen to two to Yeah,
I don't know, four and thirty. Nobody saying four, and
they don't have to go four and thirteen. They can
win ten games and not make the playoffs. I mean,
that's what could happen. I still sit ten, ten and seven.
They can win ten games and not make make the playoffs. Okay,
but that's all I'm saying. It's not four.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
It's not like so I'm not sitting here going they're
only gonna win four.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Get they can win ten games and not make the playoffs.
I get you.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
That's why I still expect that team, that offense to
get better, that defense to get better, and for them
to make the postseason.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
I still stand on that.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Was last night's
clunker a sign of things to come? You smell that?
That was Jared Golf and the Lions this season?
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Or I don't know if the Packers are that.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
I mean, they gonna be good too, but dang, I
don't think they're gonna be walking around blowing everybody out
like that.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
All right, we'll continue that conversation next with you.

you all right?
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine On Fox you mean the
al MVP advance in Phoenix.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's
up Vance?
Speaker 8 (17:35):
Hey, here's my take on it. Everybody's getting all excited
about the first week and when I had to tell
one of my coworkers, I said, you realize that for
most of these guys, this is the first week they've
had any live competition, because you know, they don't hit
in training camp. They're playing tickle Tommy all week long,
just running around a short So.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
What about the teams that played well in one games vance?
What about those guys? What about people criticized the tailors
for Aaron Rodgers didn't take one snap right with a
new team, new players, new offense, and they said, oh,
this is bad.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Why would you do that? He looked pretty good after
one week, didn't.
Speaker 8 (18:09):
He Because sometimes he sometimes and you know this for
a fact, sometimes things come together. This energy is better,
and I mean it just happens that way, you know
what I mean. That's why again I said, it's like
my Latina brothers be saying colimente migo, my friend.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Uh yeah, I mean, listen, I appreciate the car.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
So Week one I can walk away saying to to
A needs to leave the NFL.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Joe Burrow ain't worth the money.
Speaker 5 (18:33):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
There's so many different, you know, scenarios. You could say
coming out of Week one, Daniel Jones is the greatest
quarterback we've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
But we he got he's got too much baggage that
he's been. He did some Peyton Manning ain't never did.
I don't care about that.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Will in Wisconsin, you're in the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
What's up?
Speaker 9 (18:52):
Will?
Speaker 5 (18:54):
What's old enough?
Speaker 2 (18:57):
That much?
Speaker 10 (18:57):
Just enjoying this early DIVISI vision in early strong conference
scheduling that we have.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
I hear that.
Speaker 10 (19:03):
That's what I agree with that, And Rob to your point,
you know, these are weighted games and always got a
little bit of expanded season that we've had, you know,
and you know in times past, But uh, these games matter.
I mean how you set the table here?
Speaker 5 (19:16):
Yes, uh, and.
Speaker 10 (19:18):
And and and their games that you absolutely have to win.
I know the Packers and Commanders have another challenge coming up,
you know, with each other. But I mean the Lions
don't have a game to give in this first third
of the season. They got the Ravens coming up, they've
got the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
They but let me ask you this, Will, I mean,
I don't think that was a game to give. They
got a lost to a team that should.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
What was the effort? The effort wasn't there?
Speaker 1 (19:43):
And how do you come and flat in Green Bay
against the Package.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
It was.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
It was a bad showing because you know my theory,
at least give me something, meaning we're great defensively, offensive,
struggle or offensive. But I agreed it was bad on
that end. They just looked flat. And that's unlike a
Dan Campbellton. They might lose, but they at least going
to have the fight and gritted them.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
They had none of that.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
They need to go back to Detroit Zoo and go
go look at the Lions again.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Farah in Michigan. Speaking of Michigan, you're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
What's up? Farah?
Speaker 11 (20:11):
Well, what's good?
Speaker 5 (20:12):
Rob? What's good?
Speaker 9 (20:13):
Kevin Washington?
Speaker 11 (20:13):
Shout out?
Speaker 5 (20:14):
Emu? Alum, how you go?
Speaker 9 (20:15):
You?
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Emu?
Speaker 11 (20:17):
How you I'm doing all right? So I want to
bring up the whole Lions angle that you guys brought up,
and they're definitely going to take a step back. A
lot of people forget that when they started the season
in twenty twenty two, they were.
Speaker 9 (20:28):
Like one in seven going into the going in to
the off the the bye week, and they later turned
it around, winning like eight out of their next game.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
That was the start of them being a good team.
Speaker 9 (20:41):
That so this team is definitely gonna have to take
couple games to adjust.
Speaker 11 (20:44):
No way in how they're winning fifteen games, I'm probably
gonna say ten, probably eleven one.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
That's what I'm saying. I'm saying ten games and not
make eight is eleven to get my wings.
Speaker 11 (20:54):
Ten wins is ten wins is good enough to get
to playoffs.
Speaker 9 (20:56):
Eleven wins definitely.
Speaker 5 (20:57):
The question is.
Speaker 11 (20:58):
How they're going to finish. The more I'm concern because
you want your team streaking into the playoffs, not like
you know what Philly did a couple of years ago,
going in like ten and one and then dropping the
last six games to finish the season like eleven and six.
You don't want that, right, So what's what happens? We'll
here the O line does.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
The line has to get better to coordinator's got to
get better.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
And this should be a sense of urgency, Like sure,
it should be a sense of shout to the pharaoh,
thanks for the call. It should be a sense of
urgency Rod just because what they're trying to accomplish, Like
I think the windows still open, but it ain't wide open,
like meaning you know how you get we got seven
eight years? Like no you want to each year, you
want to try to get this done, especially when you
blew your opportunity last season, but especially against the forty
(21:41):
nine ers.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
So have there better be some urgency up in there.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
I know, Steve, he was about to come up, but man,
I want an impressive drive there by the guy who
falls asleep in the training in the meetings and he
doesn't watch film and all this stuff.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
You know how Terror Owen said, that's my quarterback. That's
how I feel right now with Ben Johnson. Steve, that's all.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
It's a coordinator.
Speaker 3 (22:01):

Speaker 2 (22:13):
All right, Steve, that lost Friday? Was it Friday Night? Saturday? Saturday?
Speaker 1 (22:18):
That was the worst game I've ever I've seen when
you not only give up a no hitter.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
You lose the game.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
I think no hitter with two outs in the ninth inning.
You talking about what what do you call it today?
Magic City Monday? But also what show you? What show
your ass? That been a show the next day for us?
You'd have been acting crazy here, You'd have been acting crazy.
That was absurd loss. That was I was absolutely confusing
right there. And now where I heard about the loss
(22:47):
was that a game. That's where I ran into somebody.
Shout out to TJ. Who'sman is out of our guests now?
Former Pro Bowl wide receiver, co host of Up on
Game on Fox Sports Radio, Ake Knee stiff back Joyce
not cooperate. Some days your body is just like no.
And on those days, luckily there's leave on peel. The
league provides up to twelve hours of paying release so
you can keep moving. Use as director. You have them days.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
TJ now out of the league from days.
Speaker 5 (23:09):
Not yet, but I'm sure they coming. Man, you just
gotta stay active. You stay active, or try to stay active.
You good like I'm at every time we do this.
I'm gonna be at football practice and We're gonna do
some conditioning after practice. I'm conditioning with the kids, So
I'm trying to stay active.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
There you go where you want to start? Rob My
former podcast partner TJ. Houschman Zado the Lemon Pepper parly.
Remember we had a great man.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
We were killing that thing.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Rob killing that bang good one.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Let's go here, Uh, you're a price, So you didn't.
I don't think you saw Kleb's first drive?
Speaker 2 (23:40):
Did you see it? Or no?
Speaker 5 (23:41):
No? No, I have a t boat, I have a t.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
Vow be able to watch. Yeah, they just morshed down.
You look really good.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
Six for six, five different receivers rended in for nine years.
Speaker 5 (23:50):
That's not good. That's looking great.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yeah, I know when you're when you you're mixing the
ball around. I'm expecting big things from him with Ben Johnson,
like what I saw in that drive.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
That's what I'm expecting. That's my core.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
And the reason I agree with you, Rob is because
did you just did you watch that Green Bay Packer
Detroit Lione game than you? I don't want to get
ahead of myself, yep. But the Detroit Lions may be cooked, taj.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
I tried to tell them that. I'm with you.
Speaker 5 (24:25):
Man, they might be cooked. And play calling, when you
call the play, the creativity, they didn't have that against
Green Bay. Now, green Bay is really good on defense.
They're probably gonna be the number one defensive league this year.
So let me see how these next two weeks go.
But if they not going up and down the field
like they did with Ben Johnson, they cooked, they chopped.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
Well, that that's my biggest thing. I told Rob that.
Speaker 4 (24:50):
I think they went up against a very good Packers
team who had one of the best defenses last year,
with a bunch of young, hardy guys, and you, Adam Micah,
so I think you saw the worst case scenario for them. U.
But let's say just say, on the Packers, how are
your expectations for them? How far can they go? Is
this the year they finally look at maybe a Super Bowl?
Speaker 5 (25:07):
Man? Kevin listen, So I try to I try to
do this every year before the season starts. I picked
the Super Bowl teams that will compete. In the last
five years, I'm four out of five. Okay, this year
I got the Green Bay Packers, and so my heart
tells me.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
To go with the.
Speaker 5 (25:27):
Bengals, But my head is telling me it's going to
be the Packers and the Chargers.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
So are you You definitely better go with your head
because the heart they needed you last night.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Seven yards Bengals the second half. That's not even possible.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
Is it now? We you can't. You can't play the
Cleveland Browns and let Miles Garrett ruin the game like
you just can't let that happen. I'm sending three guys
out in pass protection if it means Miles Garrett quarterback, Like,
we can't let him wreck the game. And until that happens,
that's what's gonna always. But I'm going to Green Bay
(26:01):
Packers in the Super Bowl against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Okay, all right, Hey TJ.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
I want to ask you, this is what impressed me
the most about Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Yesterday. They couldn't run the ball.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
The defense was bad, and your quarterback won you a game.
Like they couldn't run the ball, they were one dimensional,
and he still made the play, still had four touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
What did you make of his first game with the Steelers.
Speaker 5 (26:27):
I thought Aaron Rodgers was unbelievable. Man. He looked like
the twenty twenty one Aaron Rodgers because that was the
last great season that he had, and so normally it's
twenty twenty two, twenty three. Obviously he gets hurt in
twenty You don't at that age play just as good
as you did three four years ago when you weren't
able to do it. And so what I saw to
(26:48):
Aaron Rodgers, I was impressed. Man. If one thing about
the Steelers what we saw yesterday defensively, that's not the normal.
I don't figure out.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Also, right, they were awful yesterday.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
They're gonna be a top six to seven defense. You
can chalk that up. If he can continue to play
like this, who the ABC is gonna be a blood
bath because you know that they gonna move the ball
up and down the field and that defense with TJ Wise,
Cam Hayward, Jayleen Ramsey, it's gonna be a problem. They
just need to play a little bit together. But defense
(27:22):
wasn't good. But Jaylen Ramsey made a play when a
play needed to be made, and that's all you want.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Hey, real quick, on that play, I want to ask
you ToJ Is that a hospital pass there? I mean,
was that you know what I mean? For a receiver?
Was that the right pass? Because he you know, obviously
he got.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
Rock Ramsey thought he was Ronnie Lowe. What I mean,
like like or was that?
Speaker 5 (27:46):
That's not a So what happened? Garrett Wilson thought nobody
was around, so he was gonna catch and run. Normally
you catch that and curl up. That ball's not coming
out when you get hit. But he was trying to
get up the field. He didn't understand that somebody was
right there because Justin Field's really was going to run
the ball until he realized, like, oh I may not
(28:07):
make this. Garrett Wilson is wide open here. So Garrett
Wilson just kind of covers up. I believe he catches
the ball. The ball didn't come out, but that's a
great play by a great player in James Brill.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Yeah. TJ.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
Housman was out of our guest, former Pro Bowl receiver
co host up up on game on Fox Sports Radio.
Who's eighty four on X There's a a bunch of
other good games too throughout the first week, but I
want to go to the one of the earlier ones
we saw with the Chiefs. They we already know Rashid
Rice is out. Then Worthy boom first play look showed
(28:37):
her dislocated. They're saying day to day, we don't know.
When you look at this season for them, what do
you expect out of Patrick Mahomes who said last year
maybe he was tight. They were forcing it, they were
trying to three peat. How do you look at this
season for them and what needs to happen for them
to They went fifteen to two, but we all know
it wasn't the best version of them.
Speaker 5 (28:55):
I felt like going into this season, the Chiefs win
the ANC West nine years in a row, I didn't
believe this year would be ten. I believe the Chargers
are gonna win the AFC West, and I said that
before the season started, even before they played that game.
The Chiefs are gonna be good. The problem is they've been.
They're gonna always get another team's best shot. You always
gonna be ready to play them. I just have never
(29:17):
seen two offensive players run crossing routes and collde I've
never seen that before, and not only collide, You collide
and you're out like for a few games. I've never
seen that. But I just have the confidence that Patrick
Mahomes and Andy Reek can figure this out. Defensively, the
(29:37):
Chargers did whatever they want to do, like.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
It did justin Herbert looked like who everybody thought you
should be.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
You know, finally it was. It was the full package
and he played great as well.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
I do want to.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
Say this though, TJ. I'm down on John Harball and
I think he should be fired. With the waiver who
they have had and TJ so many seven team double
digit second half losses that when I think of the Ravens,
I'm always disappointed, like they got their team is loaded, loaded,
(30:11):
And I know he won a Super Bowl many moons ago,
but at some point I think he's Mike McCarthy's turned
in and you wake up one day and you realize eight, ten,
twelve years is gone by and you didn't win.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
And I'm dead serious.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
Rob, I cannot agree with that tape because I'm a
fan of har Ball. I think he's a hell of
a coach. He can't make Derrick carry not fumble the ball,
but he didn't have had nothing to do with.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
But he's turned into Doc Rivers.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
Like Doc Rivers won a championship two and you were
You're always disappointed in Doc Rivers team every year with
the Ravens, I'm disappointed that like they the way that
they go out, not that you just got beat by
a better team or it's just like there's always something
you remember the game. And I'll just end on this
(31:03):
for me, when they played the Chiefs in the AFC Championship.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Game and they had Lamar throw the ball on every down,
do you remember that?
Speaker 5 (31:10):
Yes, I'll say this. What concerns me about the Ravens. Offensively,
they're going to be fine. Derrick Carry is not gone.
No if with a ball like that when it matters often,
I'll say that what concerns me what the Ravens is
defensively on paper, they should have one of the best second,
if not the best. You have Marlin Humphrey, you have
Kyle Hamilton, you have jyro Alexander, and you have Nate Wiggins.
(31:33):
Those dudes right there are really good players. They have
to make a play when the play needs to be made.
Like Josh Allen had Damn Mere had a game with
the passing yards.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
In a fourth quarter, right, ridiculous, ridiculous.
Speaker 5 (31:50):
So he threw for over two hundred yards in a
fourth quarter. That to me is the biggest problem is defensively,
they need to get a stop. They need to keep
contained on a mobile quarterback like Josh Allen, stop letting
him get out of the pocket. But I'm not firing Halbhi.
He's one of the top seven coaches in the league,
no way what I find I'm not even thinking about
firing him. They just got to finish. They gotta finish.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
And this is another thing they or he I mean,
at some point, don't you He has to get some
of the blame as well because his team can't finish.
Speaker 5 (32:20):
He can't that bubbled by Dereck Henry. What can he
do about that? Because if Derek Carry don't fumble, the
game's over.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
I get that, But I'm saying this is not just
last night.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Seventeen double digit loss, seven years seventeen TJ.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
That's an unbelievable number.
Speaker 5 (32:37):
Let me tell you what should happen. This is just
my opinion. When you have a mobile quarterback like Lamar Jackson, right,
you want to spread out. So now things read like
I'm not running many tight formations with Lamar Jackson. So
now blitches can come from anywhere and they're closer. I'm
gonna spread you out. I'm gonna spread you out. Now
if you want to blitch, you got a blitch from
a distance or are you gonna show it? And now
(32:59):
Lamar can either gas you in a run game or
hit somebody in the passing game, like give me some
more four or five wives when you do throw the ball,
because it makes it easier for Lamar his athleticism. You
can't play that way with him.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Well, listen, man, I was with you we had this
whole That's how we started the show. I said, I'm
not letting John Harball go. I understand he definitely has
some issues and some games he want to have Doc Rivers.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
He can be fired. No, he's definitely better than Doc Rivers, though.
Speaker 5 (33:26):
Under I played under Harrball, Man, I played under a
lot of coaches towards the end of my career. Bro
Harball is not a good coach. He's a great coach.
The way he relates to guys and meetings like, it's
just different. It's different when a guy gets in front
of the team and he speaks and you listen and
you really believe what he's saying. Is a lot of
coaches they get up there and talk and you'd be
(33:47):
like Charlie Brown, Bro, like, I'm not you.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Hey, TJ, we're up against it. Man, appreciate you as always, Mabe.
What have you on next week?
Speaker 1 (33:54):
Remember TJ Sports has a short MANU wins and losses.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
That's all I got you.
Speaker 5 (33:58):
You're right about that, to go condition, all right, all right,
go get it in.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
Man.
Speaker 4 (34:03):
We were just talking about the bills, Rob. We gotta
ask is this actually possible? The way the bills are
utilizing Josh Allen.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Can that win? We'll tell you.
Speaker 4 (34:10):

Magic City Monday.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
What is this? Power one o five? What is this? Wait?
What you what you like? Instead?
Speaker 5 (34:40):
Sir?
Speaker 2 (34:42):
On this? Uh power one o six? Right there?
Speaker 4 (34:44):
Shout to tej Whow York. Yeah, one on six. Yeah,
it's all good. You're close your one off business. Fluctuations
make running your manufacturing business complex, but staff of your
business doesn't have to be let x less. Employment professionals

to find a location near you that expresspro dot com.
(35:08):
Go check them out expresspros dot com. And now it's
time for your Express Pro the Week. The Pro of
the Week goes to Bill's quarterback Josh Allen, the reigning
NFL MVP, accounted for four hundred and twenty four total
yards four touchdowns in there. Thrilling comeback went over Baltimore.
So again, congratt to Josh Allen for being our express
pro of the week, which leads to our conversation here
for a few minutes rob.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
That game.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
I wish that was the super Bowl, Like I'm wishing
that AFC NFC blah blah, because da that's the super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
I would want to see if they in a perfect
world we could create a super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
I want those two quarterbacks, those two teams playing in
the super Bowl, but it can't happen. We can get
best get in then AFC Championship game. The game was incredible.
Lamar did what Lamar does, Derek Henry, like all the
stars showed up. You know what, it reminds me of
remember that Texas USC game where all the big stars,
like everybody who was supposed to play well play well.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
That's what that looked like, all the stars there.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
They played some top notch football except for the secondary
of the Ravens. Towards the end, Josh Allen, the Bills
have set themselves up where they just say, look, man,
you are our Luca with the MAVs might be with
the Lakers once Lebron leaves Allen iverson. You are our
Lebron where the team is set up based on you.
(36:21):
Carry the load. We're down, figure it out. We getting
up because of you. They have receivers, but none of
them are spectacular. They got runners, none of them are
spectacular defense eh, but Josh Allen just creates for them
whatever they need to get over the top. And it
is actually been insane to see last season he jumping
over people looking like Superman into snow and he was
able to do that to the tune up two hundred
(36:42):
and fifty plus yards rob in the fourth quarter, two touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
That is insane what he was able to do.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
We talked about Joe Burrow, one of the other four
horsemen of the quarterbacks. He had seven yards and a
whole half two point fifty for Josh Allen.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
That was a crazy game.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
And again I think we're just looking at the two
guys for the next five years who are going to
be competing for MVPs. It'll bounce back and forth between
Lamar Josh Josh Lamar, Lamar Josh Josh Lamar. It'll go
back and forth. And that was an incredible game. But
you gotta tip your hat to Josh Allen, who the
load is on him. He has to do so much
to get it done, and it looked like he wasn't
going to in that second half. Man, I gotta hey,
(37:21):
when I see some great play from any position, any sport,
got tip your hat. And that was remarkable to see
from Josh Allen. Two hundred and fifty plus yards in
the fourth quarter two touchdowns is absolutely crazy.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
Yeah, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
I mean, they open the door and that was a
collapse by Baltimore, but he up the door was open
and he took advantage of it. And that's what players
do when they're great and talented. But you know, it's
like to you know, always goes back to the Tom
Brady beating the Atlanta Falcons, you know in that Super Bowl,
Like you can't, you can't Tom Brady can't do that
(37:54):
unless you are on the other side allow him and
open the door for him.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
All you gotta do is like make one fuel goal,
do you know what I mean? Like you know what
I mean or whatever.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
And and that's the part that's that's uh mind boggling,
is that's all it takes. And if and and you
just talked about it, if if Derek Henry doesn't fumbles
at TJ, you know what I mean, you win the game.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
That was That was insane because Derek Henry is not
a fumble lay like that was.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
It happens, and and and but but you have to
be able to respond. And they weren't able and they
let the door open, and Josh took advantage of it.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
By the way, two ways to lose to me, and
one you see happen the most. I'm glad you brought
the Falcons. The Falcons way of losing was scared. Let's
just okay, we're up. Okay, let's play against the clock.
We're scared to lose. Stop p let's stop playing. Okay,
come on clock, we can get the game over. They
played scared, scared money, don't make money. The other one
is we already got this game in the bag.
Speaker 2 (38:49):
And I think the Braves secondary we're already at the club.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
I think they were already all right, shoot, I'm going tonight, baby,
all right, when I'm at shooting New York.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
We gonna shoot in the York and Toronto. We're up fifteen.
We got this game, ambery Ga lamar and they got
housed in that fourth,
