Speaker 3 (01:51):
Time to rehit an old hot take that's gone cold outside. Yeah,
it's microwave take with their.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
What what you viewed it more?

Speaker 4 (02:02):
I'm wondering if that's gonna get more of a pass
to Jalen, because again, he got kicked out the whole game.
It was literally he didn't play a single snap. So
I think that is the game that they could say
he was suspended for a game because it was that
whole game. WHOA, that sounds like something I said today,
except that was last week. Verbain on what I said today.

(02:24):
That's a Michael Wave take.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
When did y'all tape that inside the studio?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
You just take.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
Yeah, no worry, you just take receipts around here.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
To the kitchen.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
I know, I know you just taped it and then yeah, yeah,
I get it, but it's okay.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
You know what I like.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
You know what I like.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
What I pride myself in is when the Lions might
lose or this might happen, and the next day I
gotta come in and sit next to you, and I
know you're gonna let me know I was right, And
I say, Rob, you were right or Rob I was wrong?
Why fold you can't say that, Huh, that was dumb.
You were right, you said it, You called it verbatim.

(03:05):
Can't say I don't have to say you said it.
Can you say no, you said it. Want to make
sure this one, to make sure you can say you know,
I said it exactly how it happened.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
That's so I said, Rob, you was right, Man, you're right.
You called it. You called it just like the Lions
were going to Super Bowl last year, right, And I
said you were right, you were right the Lion.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
I'd rather you say just you're wrong. You don't have
to say I'm right.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Okay, But then you say no, you say that's what
you just say.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
So you got to say, come on, come.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Right, all right, come on, we got trash talking coming out.
See it in about thirty five minutes or so, so
you have a chance to trash anyone anything in the
world of sports.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Yeah, I'm ready to trash somebody to uh secondarily, Uh
that would be Tyreek Hill, Rob G.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
We talked about this over the summer. We got another
Aaron Judge watched. Oh no, that was Cody Bellen. Look
at you two nothing Yankees do it?

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Ain't even look is Aaron John?

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Oh no, Cody bell Anyways, keep going. This is what
I'll be talking. Has he has a home run? Oh
my gosh, that's.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
What you gotta start. mL Hey, Rob G MLB snow
Is that what you gotta do? I'b dude coming out.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
No, Alex m LB snow is that would have gotta
be the secondary website.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Who hits before Bellinger? Bellinger? It was Aaron John.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
I just doing a radio show.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
I have my head turned up so you can't wait.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
And then I turned back in the boat, Alex, Alex,
I need that marked so when something happened and I go, oh,
even are you calling him out?

Speaker 2 (04:37):
You know?

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Rob all light Skins look alike.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
It's okay, that's what it is.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
Hey, it's Ben Rice is up now, So don't look,
don't don't look. Ben Rice's I just don't want you
to pay attention. Hey, I'll tell you what he did out.
If he was Uncle ben Rice, then I would watch
well know, then they would have to change the name
Uncle Bendo.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Now what you really gotta do? Real talk, Robbins.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
You got a corner the market and get MLB broad
dot Com as well, And and they have no idea
that you're the shadow guy covering both both sides of
the plate.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Racist, that could be the shadow guy. It's just like,
it's just like, it's just like when Pillsbury makes the
discounted biscuits that cost.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
A dollar, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
So they make those biscuits and they make the high
price biscuits.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
That's how you cornered them.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Mark, that could be you. Yeah, all right, all right,
I gave you the name too. I just want at
least ten percent fee.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Yeah. So anyway, that was Cody Belinger. Back to what
I was saying, Guy, apparently you're the only one who
cares about.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
Only one person on the show care that it was
Cody Bellingers.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
To turn to turn.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Hey, oh, Tony can have seven strikeouts in a row
and I can't mention it even Hey, cold man, we
doing it show, Stay focused, judge.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
He puts money in Rob's pocket. That's why.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
Oh that wasn't Aaron Judge my bad like that?

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Yes, no, you didn't exactly because there was Cody Belinger.

Speaker 6 (05:53):
You Oh, never mind, No, I'm Tody. I just told
he had another home runner. I stood up real quick
and he sat back down. The wrong persuasion or the occasion.
You never saw me get up. Come on, Rob g
Yes we have I'm a reporter. Yeah, yeah, and we
are reporting on you right now.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Would you guys do the show? No, we've been trying
to do the show.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
Speaking of reporting, Ross getting reported hr for that violation
right there, all right, here we go, Tyreek Hill. Yeah,
this is not a fun story, but we got to
talk about it. Actually, as you guys know, he's currently
going through it with his strange wife and she is
a legend in the latest court filings that he committed
domestic violence on at least eight separate occasions just in

(06:32):
the last two years. So he obviously denies all wrongdoing.
His attorneys say that this is the one big shakedown.
It's all going to play out here in court. But
it does add to the laundry list of issues that
Tyreek Hill has brought now to the Dolphins organization. Obviously,
last season, some of his social media commentary about Hey,

(06:53):
I think I missed Patrick Mahomes, Patrickholmes and what could
have been? And he's throwing these hard eye emojis on
his ig stories all the way down to some of
the comments he made about his own team, even as
recently as in training camp, where he went on record
and said, Hey, maybe we shouldn't give the ball to
Devon a Chan. Are you running back one at the
goal line, because that's not his game. We should bring
another guy. And it got to a point where, to

(07:14):
a tongue of bi low I had to actually have
a private conversation number one and then publicly tell the
media that, hey, Tyreek has alienated a lot of his teammates.
He's done and said things he knows you shouldn't have done,
and it's up to him to mend fences. Well, I
don't know if this is really helping in that regard
right now.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Well, for me, listen, I haven't I'm going to act
like I'm a mathematician. I haven't figured out all the
details on the financial lens and that matters, So I
don't want to act like that doesn't matter, right. We
know this is a captain league, but there's some way
I have to find out, And sometimes you got to
just swallow your medicine and do what's best for your organization.
And I'm I'm interested in moving off, whether that be
a trade, whether that finding a way if I have

(07:55):
to release him, because ultimately, here's a couple of reasons.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Why.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Number one, how long do I even have him before
something happens where the league says that he has you know,
we're gonna suspend him two games, four games, six games,
eight games, whatever it may happen. He continues to have
these issues. Rob Gi just stated the numbers any amount
of times. Also, Robb g mentioned how we see the
flirting shooting the dms are and the text message and

(08:19):
the tweets and the instagrams back to the chiefs and
doing all of that. So then the other issue for me,
if I'm Michael McDaniel, and if I'm anybody in that
organization is let's say he stays here. Let's say for
whatever reason she recants, they don't he doesn't get in
any trouble with the league or with an investigation outside
with police.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
How long do I have him anyway.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
Because what if we're not a great team, what if
we end up going one in three?

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Is he out again? Is he?

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Hey, chiefs, I want to come back. I need to
get out of here. I can't believe I decided to
come back.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
I'm out. I need freedom.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
I can't breathe How long before that he came back
and he was normally a captain. His team chose to
not make him a captain this year, and you had
two a talk to him and say yes, and a
lot of guys said, we forgive him because that's what
we're supposed to do. But it also means he's got
to earn our trust. That's what Tua said. And so
to me, I'm I'm looking at what's best for us,
and what's best for us is probably to move forward

(09:11):
and find something else. Again, if it's a trade, if
he's eligible for a trade meeting, nothing happens with the league,
then I'm looking at that because I don't want to
go through the I wonder if we're gonna have him
the personal issues off the field.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Okay, on the field, he's not getting enough passes.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
He went, you know, he only got a few attempts
this this you know past attempts this game. If we're
gonna lose him mentally, he's gonna check out, He's he's
not gonna be there. So I can't keep playing that game.
I want guys who are adults on and off the field.
And I understand we all make mistakes. He's been given
that grace, but how much more must I extend this grace?
And for the debt is to the point where it

(09:46):
becomes a detriment to my team. That's where I am
with Tyreek Hill because I just can't keep doing this
as I'm trying to build continuity, build something, bounce back
from a horrid, horrid Week one, and move forward. And
I'm I'm just looking at we may have to explore options.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Heart, wasn't it.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
He wants to go with Dagan, you know what, Let
me find a way to make that happen.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Yeah, I think it's just premature.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
You gotta be very careful because he hasn't been convicted
of anything. And then, oh, I'm not talking about the team.
But this is why you're saying this now because of
what just came out.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
You didn't say this before the season. You didn't say this. Well,
I said that last season when he came, when he kept.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
But I'm saying, but this is, this is you're saying
now to make a move. You can't make a move
until this plays out. You need to find out. I'll
never forget Dave Anderson, a tremendous sports columnist for the
New York Times. He's passed, but he was a tremendous columnist.
And there were accusations made about Michael Irvin and they

(10:47):
wrote a column in the New York Times that they
should release them, you know what I mean, and get
rid of them or whatever, only for what do you
think happened? What do you think happened the woman? We
can't and took everything back and acknowledge that she made
ate it up. So and I don't know what the
details are whatever. So I'm just always careful before if
they go to trial and there's some situation, and then

(11:08):
you have a situation where where you can make a call.
I'll never forget Marv Albert with NBC, and Marv Albert
said he was innocent, remember with the biting the woman
in the whole nine yards, And I remember he told him,
NBC said, we'll stand by you as long as you
don't cop a plea. You said you're innocent as long
as you don't cop a plea. Marv went in cop

(11:30):
the plea, and what do you think NBC did? They
fired him right on the spot. So all I'm saying
to you is, this is Tyreek's Hill's resume rap sheet.
This ain't even new when they gave him that big
go look at his college days and what he did. Okay,
so now you're looking and going, oh, look at him

(11:51):
and what he's up to. Jude, this is what you
signed up for when you signed up. And Rob g
correct me if I'm wrong. Wasn't it like some pregnant
girl friend he threw down the stairs or there was
some crazy type behavior back then.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
And people because he could play football and catch the
football and run like a.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Deer, people overlooked that stuff. Aaron Hernandez and you know what,
he was on some teams do not draft list. And
the Patriots said, oh, look at this guy, We're going
to be smarter than everybody else. And and what happened,
Oh they talked about they got they got duped. They
didn't get duped. He had a rap sheet, he had

(12:32):
all this other stuff that people knew about and all
the and then and and it was allegedly punching and
choking his pregnant girlfriend. I knew there was some really
bad behavior, and that didn't stop him, is my point.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
And I'm not making excuse for him.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
All I'm saying is they knew all this kind of stuff,
and we have to wait and see how this thing
plays out.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
If you just feel like you.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Don't want him on a team anymore because of the
other stuff we're knocking over the that would be. That
would be fine. But I'm just saying, off of this
alone can't be the reason why. But we don't know
where we are.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
But that's where we'll fundamentally disagree. Off of this alone,
I've had enough, period, I have had enough of it.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
You don't even know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
As an organization, I can say I've had enough of headlines.
If this was his first one, I get you, yo,
you know something happened.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
But you signed a ton of headlines, right right.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Don't keep adding if I've said we.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
We If this is totally false and they I'm asking
you one of my headlines, I'm saying his wife or
quest now, that's fine for me. The census. You've had enough.
There's called grace. People get a lot of you know what,
stuff happens, and when you you know this, when stuff
keeps happening to somebody, you go eventually enough is enough?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Period? Right?

Speaker 4 (13:53):
And so we already barely wanted to bring you back
with all that. I'm ready to go, trade me, get
me out of here. The team had to have meeting
to see how everybody felt about it, all right. We
had to have prest that they wanted to get rid
of him. They could have long gotten rid of them.
He could play got back and he didn't want to play.
That's my point. And so at a certain point, how
much longer do I is?

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Great? Listen?

Speaker 4 (14:14):
And this is where I have to be a prognosticator.
If I'm the team, we don't look like we're gonna
be a great team. Do we expect this to be
as bad as we one know? But when we look
up and we're one and four or two and five,
how long before that ticking bomb happens again? He's done
it multiple times? Get me out of here. I want
to be free. Trade me, Hey boo, Kansas City. And

(14:34):
you have to be sometimes saying this is gonna happen.
Because this has been the history and this is what's
gonna happen. I might as well get out of this early.
It's part of my job as a general manager is
to have to have an overarching view of things. I
can see this is coming quietly behind doors. We ain't
as great as we think we are. Losing might be
a part of the day, the schedule. We need to
jump ahead of this and see if we can look again,

(14:55):
either get something for him while we can before he implodes,
or before something happens we lose him off the field stuff.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
All right, there's a lot of confirmation bias going on
regarding a certain NFL quarterback.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
We'll get into that next.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
It is the odd couple on the trash Talking Tuesday,
Rob Parker kelvin Washington, right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
I'm Kelvin Washington on a trash talking Tuesday, about twenty
minutes or so away from that.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
That's why.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
And if you want to trash Kelvin today, it's all right.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
You didn't even believe it when you said it.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
Rob.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
If you want to trash Kelvin, you know you don't
even believe it. We got AK and E stiff back
joints not cooperating.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Some days.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
Your body is just like nine on those days. Luckily
there's a lead. With just one pill, Ali provides up
to twelve hours of paying release.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
So you can keep it moving. Please use as directed.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
We got Kyle Slider, former NFL quarterback, gonna join us
here in about six minutes or so, so we got
to pack the hour for you. Our two here on
the odd couple, JJ McCarthy again, we talked about that
game first hour, more so on the bear side of things.
If you look at what he was able to do
the first tail or two halves, I mean between the

(17:13):
two quarterbacks, my goodness. The first one looked like JJ
McCarthy need to go home. Second half he looks like
Josh Allen, who.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
I don't know about that. He only had one hundred
and forty yards. I mean, let's not act like he
was like he threw for three hundred yards. He had
one hundred. He had one hundred and forty yards. They
won the game, But he wasn't like, did he set
the world on fire?

Speaker 2 (17:33):
He did actually did his second half? No, I don't care.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
He really did though, right like the fourth quarter, specifically
third quarter.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
People were still the same thing that they had before.
You didn't even know he could throw all that everybody.
And I'm just saying the only reason I bring you up.
You're a Michigan guy. You watched supposedly all the games
and you said you didn't know that he was.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
He never had to be what he had to be yesterday.
He didn't have to bring the team back. He had
to make a pass here or there. So that was
incredible and for him to have to be the guy
to bring his team back and he was able to
do that. He's the first player since Cam Newton with
two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown in their NFL debut,
and all three of those came in the fourth quarter. Rob, Yeah,

(18:13):
that's pretty superman. Superhero is when you're in the fourth
quarter talking about the number. But I'm saying, dude, have
three touchdowns in the fourth quarters. It's crazy numbers. He
ended up having again thirteen to twenty for the ho
than forty three in the total game, but that second
half for him, and I attributed a lot of it
to you when we talked about You asked me yesterday who
did I think was gonna be in the game, and

(18:34):
I thought it would be Verbatim. I was just talking
about Kevin O'Connell, what he brings to the quarterback position,
how he helps coaches them up. I thought that was
absolutely a great choice and a great land for JJ
McCarthy because he didn't have to pass a lot in college.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
He's not one of those quarterbacks. Everything was on his arm.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
He to me, got to develop a year injured, still
got to develop mentally. Watch film all of that with
Kevin O'Connell, who we saw what he did with, He
saw what he did with Kirk Cousins, saw what he
did with Sam Darnold, and in that second half, they
made adjustments and he was able to get the best
out of J. J.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
McCarthy.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Do I expect him to look that clean as he
did the fourth quarter every game? No, but kudos to
him and again Kevin O'Connell for coming up with a
great game plan and adjusting, because we all know that
in sports it's adjustments.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Right, second half, what are we gonna do? How can
we get better?

Speaker 4 (19:21):
He made some big throws and even used his legs,
And again I was impressed by that because coming from
seeing him play off, you know, when I as a
Michigan guy, he didn't have to do that. Jim Harbaugh said,
run run, run, run, run, run, run, run, make a
pass for us every now again, Run run, run, run defense,
get us the ball defense, get us the ball, run
make a pass here. So for him to have to
be on his arm, that was impressive. I didn't know

(19:43):
he could do that.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
No, I mean when you win the game at the end.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Obviously, if they would have lost the game, there would
have been a lot of question mark still on how
bad he looked to start. It's always about winning. Winning,
eRASS everything. Nobody cares about the first three quarters. If
make the big shot at the end, or you know,
you score, you could go scoreless, you made the winning basket.
People don't care about the same thing. Corelesses. I'm talking

(20:09):
about early on and and and people came with their
hot takes and and there were all kinds of stuff.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
It's about winning. That's that's what.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
That's what erastes everything, you know, like seriously, that's all people.
And that's why I always say, you know, you have
a short menu in sports. It's wins and losses. That
that's all it really is. And not being close and all.
I hear it in the NFL. Oh you know they
lost eight games by the less than a t Yes,
that's that's the nature.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Of the game.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
I don't buy those games are decided by that.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
No, it's true.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
You know what I mean is I don't think you
can have I don't think just wins and losses like
for instance, let's say, for whatever reasons, Hail Mary happened,
the Bears win. I think if you're Ben Johnson, you're
upset with how you won, meaning yes, to win, we
take that.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
Only fans are into that. That's that's ridiculous. It's about winning.
You know how to win by forty points.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
To say is JJ McCarthy could have absolutely played horrible
and still won.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Those two things can exist.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Yeah, but that doesn't mean But that doesn't mean you're
missing my point. It still comes down to winning and losing.
And my point is, sure you can clean stuff up,
Sure you want the games to be smoother and play
better and not make turnover, but that doesn't mean ultimately
the reason you go out there is to win the game,
and you'll take it anyway. When the Mets won the
World Series in nineteen eighty six and the ball went

(21:31):
through Bill Buckner's legs, nobody goes in and goes, oh, yeah,
we won the game. It was an unbelievable World Series game.
But did we have to win on the era. It
was an error by the first bet. Nobody cares about that.

Speaker 4 (21:42):
Nobody cares right, So what I'm saying is for him
to come in and get that win and bounce back
from the first quarter and a half or half and
half of the third and look bad and in the
contrast to Kayler Williams who started off hot, that would
be the use the word the win. That's the one
thing Jim Harbor another said about him is he's an
absolute winner.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
He finds ways to win.

Speaker 4 (22:04):
In JJ McCarthy and he was able to do that
in his first one debut, So credit him and again
Kevin O'Connell, because what he's been able to do with quarterbacks,
my goodness, he is definitely a quarterback whisper. Right now,
Kyle Slaughter speaking of quarterback, former NFL quarterback on the way,
we'll talk to him in just a little bit. Get
his thoughts on some of the NFL headlines right now,
Steve de Seger, what's trending.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
All right, Steve, thank you so much. We are the
odd couple.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
Robin Kelvin on a trash talking Tuesday coming up soon
about ten twelve minutes or so. We got Kyle Sloter,
Kyle former NFL quarterback joining us now on this trash
talking Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Kyle, what's doing? No doubt? What's up?

Speaker 9 (22:51):
Hey, guys?

Speaker 10 (22:52):
How you doing? Appreciate you having me doing?

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Good man.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
We were just talking about to JJ McCarthy. Horrible first half,
I mean two and a half. Yeah, and then Folk,
I'd imagine, you know, fee for probably feeling like, what
the heck's going on? This is how's my debut supposed
to be? Bounces back second half and specifically the fourth
quarter three touchdowns there. Played amazingly well in that quarter.
What did you make of his his start there and

(23:15):
being able to overcome a first bad first half?

Speaker 10 (23:19):
You know, I think that's a pretty good description of
things from the way the way that I saw things,
you know, not a great start in watching the film,
I think, you know, he was kind of putting some
tough positions. I'd love to see him learn to process
the pre snap stuff a little bit faster. Kind of
evidenced by the delay of game stuff, but no, overall,

(23:43):
I think it's about bouncing back. That's what playing quarterback
in the NFL is. Going in there, throwing a pick
six and kind of what would look like everything going
against you and being able to bounce back and finish
strong and ultimately get a win. That's what people remember.
In the end, he threw a couple of good passes
there for touchdowns and ran one in. So you know,

(24:05):
as a Vikings fan, we're just we're looking for wins.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Viking fans, no doubt feel better about the idea of
not having Sam Donald, even though I was not. I
thought that was the right move. I didn't buy into
Sam Donald and the whole idea of he was he
had turned a corner or whatever and was going to
be great for the next ten years or whatever. Were
you surprised that they didn't want to go with Sam Donald?

Speaker 10 (24:30):
You know, I was. I'm with you to an extent.
I don't think that he was worth the price tag
that they ultimately paid for him. Would have liked to
see him come back on a cheaper price tag, kind
of a hometown discount and a place that you know,
he saw a lot of success, But you know you
draft the first round guy. Ultimately those guys are going

(24:51):
to play. We know how that game plays out with GMS,
and you know they have to play to make those
guys look good. So it was a j McCarthy's time.
You know, he struggled. Initially, I thought he did some
things well. I thought he moved around well. That was
really positive to see. His legs are going to be
a weapon. For the most part, I think I saw

(25:15):
some pretty good accuracy. I think he needs probably a
little bit more help from play calling, getting under center,
probably doing a little bit more play action make things
easier on him. Justin Jefferson had some uncharacteristic drops and
then on one didn't get his death to be able
to get a first down. So there's some things that
you know, the team could do to help him out

(25:36):
in certain situations. There's some things that he can do
to help himself out rough start, but that's probably to
be expected from a guy that you know, didn't play
at all last year, didn't play in the preseason this year,
and then from a guy like Justin Jefferson, who in
my opinion, is the best receiver in the NFL, has
been limited all camp with a hamstring injury and has

(25:58):
shaken some rust off himself. So in my opinion, I
think that's probably the worst we're going to see. The
Minnesota Vikings offense. Kevin O'Connell trying to figure out, you know,
what can I do well with the pieces.

Speaker 11 (26:09):
That I have?

Speaker 10 (26:10):
Every situation was a little a little bit different, but
no I thought the ability to bounce back and get
a win against the Chicago team that I thought started
out strong, but they kind of turned into the old
Chicago Bears that we've come to know and love his
Vikings fans after that first drive.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Let me ask you this.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
We got Kyle Sloater on with this odd couple, Robin
Kelvin on the trash Talk on Tuesday. Let me ask
you played the position. You know how difficult it is
to play quarterback in the NFL. I want to go
to the other side that Caleb Williams. You kind of
saw the good in the bad first half. He was
on fire, making using his legs, making good passes, very efficient.
In the second half, what happened if you were sitting

(26:51):
in the coaches room with him, what would you say
that you saw?

Speaker 10 (26:55):
Yeah, you know, I think he got away from his
progressions a little bit, you know, he wasn't really tying
his feet to the play, started to hold onto the
ball a little bit more. Some things that we saw
from him last season started to creep back in. Whereas
I thought his first half he played a very decisive,

(27:17):
get the ball out of my hand style of play,
and then I also liked what he did in protecting
the football in the first half and making plays with
his legs. He looked like he had a little bit
more explosiveness this time around then last year in the
run game, particularly his own legs. I don't think they
did a great job of protecting him, and eventually those

(27:40):
hits they take a toll over time, especially mentally not
knowing am I going to get hit in this situation.
Every single time I dropped back, it felt like he
ended up on the ground a lot. So he kind
of reverted back to his old ways. And would like
to see him stay on schedule. You kind of see
the frustration on Ben Jonson in his face, and then

(28:01):
not staying on schedule leads to inaccuracies. He saw him
overthrow guys. It felt like towards the end there, you know,
I was texting a couple buddies like, man, he's missing
every single throw high right now, and sometimes it's just
from anticipating a hit, and sometimes that's from guys in
your face. So probably a couple of things to clean
up there on the offensive line as well.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
I want to ask you, just watching quarterbacks and Aaron Rodgers'
debut with a Steelers four touchdowns, no interceptions, just your thought.
He's forty one years old. This is why the Steelers
waited for him. They think that if they have the
running game and the defense and they just need a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
Who can make plays.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
What did you make of that, especially since they couldn't
run the ball and their defense wasn't good and yet
they still won the game.

Speaker 10 (28:45):
Yeah, you know, I think Aaron Rodgers kind of showed
us all that he still has the juice. You know,
you give him time back there, and even in situations
where he didn't have time, he has that ability to
you know, throw without from different platforms. I should say,
kind of unique arm angles that a lot of guys

(29:06):
don't have in their arsenal. Just one of the best
to ever do it with a guy like that, you
know what you're getting, You're getting a guy that sees
the game from an angle that very few have ever
seen it from. He knows all the looks. He knows
where the defense is going to be before they even
know where they're going to be. He knows how to
manipulate them, and he knows how to put his guys.

(29:29):
I think that's one of the most important things when
you think about Tom Brady, Peyton manning. Aaron Rodgers is
in that fold, is how do I change plays and
put guys in the correct positions to have success based
on the looks that I'm seeing. And you know, that's
kind of the big difference between you go from an
Aaron Rodgers to a JJ McCarthy making his first start

(29:51):
who's just trying to keep his head above water at times,
is you know, you're not going to show Aaron Rodgers
any looks that he hasn't seen. He's seen it all
and he how to beat you and get into the
best play.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
Yeah, you just mentioned that.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
You talked about Kayleb and JAJ getting those feet set
and kind of being you know, ready employees to make
those passes. That's something Aaron Rodgers has done for for
shoot decades now.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Pretty much all right. Appreciate you, Kyle, Thank you as always, brother.
Hopefully have a good week. That's right, thank you, Thank you.

Joseph and Indiana. You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
Who you trashing, Joseph?

Speaker 11 (35:58):
I'm trusting the biggest bluff in NFL history, Anthony Richardson.
Andy Richardson is a player that should never been drafted
because he took himself out of the game because he
was tired. I get tired all the time at work.
Do you see me going home when I want to
open the lineman? Can't do that. Ryan leaves the better

(36:20):
player than he is. Andy Richardson, go play for some
we flash football because you can't stay healthy. You're built.
You're built like a like a glass house.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
All right, Appreciate you, all right? Eddie in l Paso, Texas.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

the manager or agent for not Parker for not requesting

so perfect for that show with your comedic lines and
you're used on politics and fast football. Rob. You could

(37:03):
ask Chris Brussard if you could stay at his house
while you're there and you can go over old time.
Thanks for taking my.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Call, Rob, all right, thank you.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
We're so Orlando in l Passo. You're in the couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
You're trashing Orlando.

Speaker 10 (37:23):
Hey, guys, I'm trushing myself because I had said Aaron
Rodgers was as washed as my dishes from my dishwasher,
and he proved me wrong.

Speaker 13 (37:32):
So again I'll leave my pro all right.

Speaker 12 (37:36):
All right, doesn't Ryan Bronco shout out to him mission all.

Speaker 4 (37:40):
Right, this fan, Hey, listen, shout out to you man
enough to meet me.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
In Orlando when we're wrong and we're wrong. I mean,
everybody can't do it.

Speaker 7 (37:48):
How bad do you think the gents field, knowing that
he scored four touchdowns only did four snaps his first year.
You know, there you go crazy.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
Four snaps, unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (37:58):
You know he had a whole other year though, Alex Donkaren, Okay,
I'm trashing Kelvin Washington.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
Spectrum changed.

Speaker 7 (38:05):
You used to be a man with hot takes.

Speaker 2 (38:08):
Go out on the lamb. Have you ever known me?
Now he's a milk toast.

Speaker 7 (38:12):
Now you're just a watered down bowl of cheerios.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
I don't think you've known me, well maybe a little bit.
Maybe to you what you got.

Speaker 5 (38:19):
I'm trashing Roger Goodell for that soft punishment he laid
down on Jalen Carter.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
He might as well be Adam Silver. Can you believe
what he just did?

Speaker 5 (38:29):
Jalen Carter committed a hate crime and it's a Native
American man by the name of Dakota Ryne Prescott. That
was a salt And for him to only get half
a game fine and a half a suspension does doesn't
mean anything to me?

Speaker 2 (38:43):
Is that you or me? That's me and you together.

Speaker 4 (38:46):
That's what it sounded like. A roar.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
I just wanted to get in the hate crime part,
that's all.

Speaker 7 (38:52):
Yeah, you know it's the best part. What's that seeing
Rob's like swing as he says all that.

Speaker 4 (38:57):
Man, I'm glad the cameras above like the dash is
in the below. Yeah, you want to look under applebox.
It's over here somewhere. I can swing that in there
for you. I'm telling you that got away with some
of that too.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
By the way, The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon
is coming up next.

Speaker 4 (39:12):
