Don't forget Olden Polonies coming up in about twenty eight minutes,
the former NBA VET and of course Fox Sports Radio
NBA analysts and then trash talking. So a lot to
get to in our number two.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Yeah, including a big game coming up today, looking forward
to this one you got there, which has been a
really fun series. Nicks and Pacers. They're in Indianapolis again.
You got the game four going on, Pacers leading that
series two to one, Nicks getting the very close win
in Game three, one oh six to one hundred.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Just how far?
Speaker 4 (01:51):
How What are your thoughts on how the Knicks have
performed before? I kind of go in on something that
I've seen.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
I mean, the only game one, the one that they
blew the lead with fourteen points with two thirty eight.
That to me, they got a good game in that one.
I mean, I don't you know, I know you're gonna
say they gotta be down by twenty, but they played
great and their two stars combined for seventy eight points.
They choked it down, but they played great in that game.
(02:19):
They should be up to to one in this series,
but they won't and they won't win the series because
that loss will come back to bite them. They can't
shake that. I don't care what anybody says. I expect
the Pacers to win the night, be up three to
one and win this series. And that would you'll look
back and say that was the determining fact that they
should be going for a three to one lead, you know.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
And they played well on the road.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
But I think as poorly as the Pacers played in
the fourth quarter five for nineteen, one for eight from three,
and they lost by six points. Like it took a
hercule lean performance by Cat for the Nicks even win
that game.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
That's the Yeah, big big Cat has is shown up
a few times.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Yeah, gott, see what I mean? You didn't know I
spokes bout.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Grande up in there, the big Cat ol Grande. I'm
bi lingual. Yeah, el got tho. Yeah, but he's big.
That not doesn't sound good or though.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
You don't say it the way Cat would say it,
but it's okay. How would you say stop it? I
would Cat say it? Stop it? I would Cat say it.
I don't tell me. He's Dominican. You should know how
he says it.
Speaker 5 (03:22):
How you never you haven't heard like the social media
of Cat no on court.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
Oh gott, oh my gosh, that's a foul. Yeah, yeah,
it's it's it's wait. Okay, you added a little sugar
to that.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Okay, I got the Grande from New York.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
This one's for all my Budego boys. You never know
what you're gonna get with no because what no, because
he tried. Sometimes he'll hit it that bag. He'll be like, yeah,
we had to do it. I appreciate you, Lisa Salts
for talking to the game. We did it for the
Bodego boys. I mean, son, You'd be like, Okay, next
minute he'd be like, out the file. He'd be like, cat,
what do we doing? Thought he's from Jersey, But you
(04:06):
just say, hey, you never know what's going on.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Oh, shout out the cat. Shot the Cat. Anybody want
to be from New York? I get it? Yeah, shot
out to Cat.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
He's been playing really well and we started to wonder
when would be a series where he would show up
and kind of be consistent, And for the most part,
he's been able to do that in this series, except
for that fourth quarter where they obviously just kept him out.
And that's to me leads to some of the issues
I see with the Knicks. A couple of things. Rob,
what is it. I've heard of boxers that always gonna
have their back against the wall. You hear about some
(04:34):
people who feel better when they're you know, we're up
against it, And that's what the Knicks feel like like
they have to be some slugger who has to get
punched a few times around. It looks like they're down
for the count before they bounce back. And to me,
when I look at that, I say, man, this team,
I give them credit. They got a lot of fight
in them. They're a team that can you can never
(04:54):
just count as they're out. They're kind of like Joe Fraser, right,
just keep coming at you ba ba ba bah Muhammad
Ali Sah and they just keep coming, keep coming, keep coming,
keep coming. But to me, that type of team cannot
win a championship. At some point. You have to be
the fighter who dictates the fight. This is what this
fight is gonna be like, this is what I'm bringing tonight.
(05:16):
This is where I punch you in the mouth first
and you getting punched all night, and I dominate the fight.
And for some reason, the Knicks just don't have that
in them. And they come out every night and they
just committal as competitive as around you know, both teams
play hard and then they lose it or they gotta
get down big two.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Then come back.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
And the only time they really look that great was
a game finally when Jason Tatum was out a game
I think it was Game six with the Celtics, and
they dominated that to move on to the next round,
to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
And we've been sitting.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
Here, you and I and outside of game one in
this series, which I said, they don't want to play
that way one hundred.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
And thirty twenty when they beat the Pistons every game
at the pala Remember they had to go to twenty
old run and they just.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
I was in game one games and why can't they
just look, we've been wondering a start to finish.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
I get that. I have.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
I think the last game, Game three, you're up against
you can't afford to lose and go down O three.
So I understand that one. I don't think any team
wants to be down twenty and that's your calling card.
They were up big in game one and they choked
it down, so it wasn't like they had to be
down in order to play well. They played well there.
(06:26):
I just think that the team is not as.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
I think they're overachieving, is what I'm trying to get
out here. They're a team that to.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Say that they can't win, I don't know about if
they can't win, because you would say a team like
the Celtics, how could they win shooting all those threes
and losing to twenty point loss and now they got
knocked out of the series, but they have won a championship.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Well, I think, but I think that's why they got
knocked out of the series, doing too much, shooting too
many threes, not understanding when they make adjustments win not
to and I think the Knicks again, they haven't been
able to put their finger in hampering on the game
consistently back to back games of where we felt like,
oh the Knicks are playing well, it's always the scrapping
just to fight in the game, and we know we
want games to be close, that that's not an issue.
(07:09):
We've enjoyed those close games, competitive games.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
And expect that. I wasn't surprised at all that the
Pacers lost Game three, well because you were up twenty.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Yeah, but that was in the first half. From the
NBA up twenty. We talk about it every night, like
that we've been sitting here doing that. That that up
twenty in the first half or whatever. It doesn't mean anything.
Now they lost the game, But did you really think
the Pace was going to sweep the Knicks at any point?
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Oh no, no, just going six to seven, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Like, so, so I wasn't shocked, is what I'm saying.
Like the Knicks tried to save their season.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
And they did, but they what they're needing me watching them,
they need an everyday punch, meaning they need a Jamal
Crawford off the bench when he was with the Live
City Clippers, a guy to come in and just simply say, bruh,
you're getting twenty five twenty eight minutes a game, and
this is all you do is flat out get buckets.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
That's what you do to change the pace.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Because they have so many games where Cat earlier in
the playoffs in rounds, they Cat would disappear and we
all come back the next day. Where's Caed what's he doing?
Or they have where Brunton gets in foul trouble, he
can't do anything. And so to me, that's one of
the things I'm looking at if I'm designing this team
that next season they got to go out and get
a flat out certified Lou Williams Jamal Crawted bucket getter
(08:21):
because they just don't have that guy, and they're so
Jalen Brunson reliant to kind of keep the pace and
keep it going.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
But that's my thing.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
When I look at this and you look at championship teams,
I don't see how a championship team can come from
a team that always has to be down. Not that
that's in the back. We can do that, but it's
for some reason. They can't just come out and impose
their will night in, night out, and you're not gonna
win every game. Does No team does that, but their
will too often for me.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
But we've seen them, and I think the trait that
they do have is that no game is safe, or
that they give up on any game.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
I love that about them. I love that about him.
That's a trade of a winner where you don't just
give up.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
You're down, the shots not falling, they're rimming out whatever
it is, and you don't just go, well, we got
no shot at this one. Let's worry about and save
our energy for the next week.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
They don't do that. And that's what I.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Respect and could help them as they go forward. I
don't expect them to win this series, but I and
I expect them to get swept at all. I just
when people were thinking, I get it, the Pacers win
two games at Massive Square Garden, you want to think
this series.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Is all no, no, no, no, no, that is going
to be like they're gonna get swept. It's my point.
I just never I never looked at it that way.
Speaker 6 (09:34):
No.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
I never looked at this is going six or seven
and next. They're absolutely a gritty bunch and they absolutely compete,
and you love that about the team. But I'm just
looking at it from the next round and trying to
win a championship. I just think they don't have that
punch enough. And they always are. They're on the defensive end.
And I don't mean defensive, I mean counter. They always
have to counter. They always have to counter. They're always
(09:54):
trying to stay in it. You never feel like they're
imposing their will night in, night out. It's always so,
oh shoot, we gotta get this thing going. Oh shoot,
we're down.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
And that's to me something that they would have to
fix as they go into the off season is finding
that another person because you got you can't have seven
guys and nothing gift coming off the bench. That cand
score McBride is not that he's not supposed to be
that guy. The game that they won, they finally went
to the bench, you know, like Tim's him finally went
(10:24):
to the bench.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
He must have been not feeling well. No, he was
trying to save his season, is what he was trying
to do.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
And at some point you know that you can't keep
doing the same thing and expecting that you know things
are going to turn around.
Speaker 5 (10:36):
Definition of Saturday, right, what a question with that point
in mind, Rob, There's been a narrative coming in and
w talked about it earlier with the Kat and Jalen Brunson.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
As great as they are, they do some shortcomings.
Speaker 5 (10:48):
A big conversation to come out of Game three was
that the reason why they came back was, of course
they brought in the bench.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
More specifically, they separated.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
Towns and bruntson I agree with not have two defensive liabilities.
At the same time, you believe, moving forward in this
series and for the receieable future, that they got to
separate them either on the court or even get rid
of one of them if they're going to reach the
next level for the Knicks.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
I think that that's fair because there's times when we're
watching the games and.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
I can't even tell cats in it.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
When Jalen Brunt is doing his thing, is kat out
there like he has the ball, dribble dribble, dribble, dribble,
dribbles seventeen to eighteen, like like seriously, and then he
he's forced to put up a shot because there's no
more time to pass all around.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
So there is definitely something there.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
And defensively, yeah, both of them just don't do much
and you can't have both of them up there. That's
why maybe they were always falling into the twenty point hole.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Jalen Brunton has a habit.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
I'm about to share something that I remember I brought
up to you guys before when I sat front row
listening to Kobe Bryant he was interviewed by Jamie and
I'll speed this up as I paraphrase it. It was
the first time I ever heard Kobe admit as to
why sometimes he goes into the black hole and like
doesn't see anything else tunnelvision.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
I have to shoot it.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
And he said, when I was seven, eight, nine ten,
growing up in Italy, I was the only black kid
on the court and I was new. I barely learned
the language, and they would make fun of me. They
wouldn't pass me the ball. So whenever I would get
the ball, he said, I would black out and I
would just like I got to shoot, I gotta score.
I might not get it back. I got to prove
that and I could play in it. And he said
they would just go like straight up tunnel vision, and
he said that affected him.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
He admitted it until I came seven against the Phoenix sung.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
Where he didn't want to shoot, and then he say
admitted that in the NBA he has those moments where
he reverts back to that kid and he blacks out.
He has to shoot. I have to do it. I
have to, and I think Jalen Brunton has some of that.
I have to prove I'm not too little. I have
to prove I'm big and I'm strong.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
I have to.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
I have to because he will go in a dribble,
dribble running to your chest to somebody. I gotta running
the chest to the defender again, and he just forgets
there's four other guys the court, and one of them
is pretty dad gone good in kar Anthony Towns. And
if Jalen Brunson, to add to answer Rogie's question, realizes
that that's a scary combination for defenses are picking a
(13:11):
roll with him and Carlthony Towns, who is a great
picking pop artist who can knock down three from all over.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
But Jalen gets locked into this. I have to do it.
I gotta prove it. I can do it.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
I'm not too small, I'm not just, and I think
it hurts Cat and Cat is too okay with being okay.
I guess I won't get the ball. He's not the
type yo yo, I'm down low. And so if I
think this offseason, they have to come to realize they're
two scary offensive players and they can be dominating a
pick and roll picking pop if they sink in together
because they just it's two or he's hot, I'm.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Not Didn't we see that though?
Speaker 2 (13:44):
When Damian Lilla showing up, everybody thought that was the
perfect match.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Oh my god, a great example, a great example, like,
oh my god, like there are you going to stop
those guys?
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Like they're perfect together and they struggle for the most
part right when they were together, and then they got better.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Of course, because they talked about last summer.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
They both said and Dame Damian Liller said, we didn't
utilize each other and depend on each other. Now he
talked about how did you kind of and I think
that comes from Damon never really having another real understand
you're playing with somebody else, got Yiannis over there, and
Giannis you got Dame. And I think Carli Towns and
and Uh and Jalen this is their first year together.
I think they need to realize, hey, bro, we together
(14:24):
really are scary duo offensively now defensively, and we gotta
leave a lot to be desired. They looking like Lebron
and Luca out there at times, but offensively they just
got to I think another summer figuring that thing out
and Jalen figuring out the ways to get his teammates
involved will open up that offense some more, because when
he gets locked in tunnel vision, it's almost beneficial to
the defense, and that he's gonna take so much time
out of the clib drib dribble, keep trying to fake up fake.
(14:47):
He has a little bit of that in him. Yeah,
you didn't want.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
To break no good? All right? Did you write one
for me?
Speaker 3 (14:59):
This?
Speaker 1 (15:00):
You know what? I just got mixed up? Now let
me do it now? Now, now do you pull back
the curtain. I'm gonna do it. I got it, I
got it, Thank you? All right?
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Is it only fitting that air man I just got
we're going late late, and I was just like, okay,
let me just be quired.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Don't be out here one day long. We want to
break them to anything. You know what you think about?
What can he get to the ams?
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Pullolds, Panday's all.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
What just going on when I'm not here? Brouh? What
was that? You get a haircut? Act different? My goodness?
Speaker 2 (15:32):
All right, it's only fitting that a man would come
up small in game Mind four so he could fit
into the anhill.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
We'll continue that conversation next.
Speaker 7 (15:40):
It is The Odd Couple right here or Fox Sports Radio,

Speaker 4 (16:05):
I've never been so happy that this is not Worship Wednesday.
It is the odd Couple Rob, Rob Parker, Kevin Washington
on a trash Talking Tuesday and DJ Mary McK on
the Ones and Tuesday. Ready for a new job. Let
Express Employment professionals help. While Express helps people in all
industries fine work. Our sweet spot is logistic roles and
(16:28):
Express never charges job seekers of fee. So what you
need to do is go to expresspros dot com. All right, Rob, uh,
you got some issues with a man.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
It's more just the idea that he thought, Yeah, let's
play the sound first and then we'll be see what
he had to say and then just his response.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
I don't look at it like a struggle or he struggled.
It just.
Speaker 8 (16:56):
They had a good game plan making us get off
the ball. Actually for me, man, it was superin gaps.
I made the right play all night, So I don't
really look at it like I struggled. I didn't get
enough shots to say I struggled, So that's it might
be how you guys look at it, But yeah, I
haven't struggled.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
Oh, It's just I made directly direct.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
You not getting shots, are struggling, struggling to get open,
struggling to figure out what they're doing to you and
adjust to it. I'm sorry, that's a great game plan.
You shoot one for two in the first half. I'll
take that all day. Whoever was the defensive guy who
set it up for the thunder, give him a raise.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
A man took two shots.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
What you can't ever, ever, ever, ever think that that's
a good thing, and then you wind up losing by
two points.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Do you know what I mean? Like like, think about that.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Maybe if you made three baskets more in the first half.
I just struggling doesn't mean you have a lot of
shots and you miss shots. You're not a part of
the offense. They want you to give the ball. That's
that's that's not it. We talk about it. If you
notice in basketball, Calvin, there's guys who are open on
the court.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
They're open for reason. Oh you you up, I'm open. Yeah,
we know you're you're open.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Somebody gonna be open. It's you, right, because they don't
think you can make the shot. Yeah, you're gonna be
open until you start making shots. I'm not gonna guard you.
If they look at you and your jumpers off. I'm
not what are we guarding them for. This is his
last go round to me, and I appreciate his honesty
over the year. He's been very honest about defense. Oh man,
they kind of confused me. They threw this at me.
Oh oh man, you should I have never seen that before.
(18:36):
This is the last time young Man and Edwards that
I want to hear something about that where defenses are
confusing him or I'm just well, I didn't want to shoot.
I'm kind of taking the bet at a certain point.
I'll give you a quarter, I'll give you two, but
I need the adjustments. I need you to be able
to say, oh man, I saw they were doing their
triple team or oh man, they had a man and
four man in the box and they had oh man,
(18:57):
I've seen that every time they were blitzing me on
the screens.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
I need to be.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Aware of that because all the good to greats had
to deal with it. Harden and he was an MVP
for or candidate for about a six seven year run KD.
He got every look, steph gets a million different defenses, Lebron, Kobe,
all these greats, Michael Jordan, they know how to adjust.
All right, maybe you threw something at me for that
first quarter, quarter and a half of its kind of
(19:20):
little OFFU cas see what you're doing, and then they're
able to adjust, and Aunt is now and that this
is it for me? All right, Aunt, you're still young?
Was he twenty four? I gear you at this is it?
Speaker 9 (19:30):
Now.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
I'm gonna need you to start being to adjust a
little faster. There's no way you being the star player.
The second star player can have a total of twenty
shots in the game that you lose by two. Not
a game where we got blue out so we didn't
even play it in the second half. And Julius random
cannot have twenty combined free field goal attempts.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
That's as nine.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
That is crazy, and that is not a winning formula,
even though their bench came to play and kept them
in that game. Now, I grit what he's saying. Sometimes
a bench guys hot or another player hot, and you
kind of all right, let's feedo. You don't want to
force things. But the whole point is to have the
bitch guy hot. Okay, cool, so that you close this
thing on home and you take us on home. Man, man,
it was cool. Now, you bring us home and get
(20:12):
to win. And that's what you were expecting to happen
there where you had Alexander Walker keeping them in it,
demon Cinzo keeping them in it. It don't laugh how I
said that, Robbzi. Okay, Dimoncenzo, I said that right there.
I say it right that time. Deno.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
That's how you sound like a bad Italian restaurant. What
was that?
Speaker 4 (20:31):
Don't ever disrespect my Michelin stars and my restaurants. Okay, uh,
you got those guys hot. You can't waste a game
like that. We know role players play better at home,
so you cannot waste a game like that for your
ro players. Now that you're getting ready to go back
on the road, that's a big time loss that they
needed to win in order to keep this thing afloat.
Because to me, it's it's a rap. I picked the
thunder anyway, but it's a rap.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
All right. We have olden.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
Polines getting ready to join us in a bit right now.

of course on a trash talking Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
You want to have lineup now? I wanna line them
up now in a few minutes. What do you think? Yeah,
let's have people start to call in.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Yeah, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, So this
way they'll be ready to go for our little trash
talking Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
We're expecting to have some fun, all right.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
You heard the number eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox Trash Talking Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Go ahead and get those in right now.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
We're joined by Olden Polines for MENBA veteran Fox Sports
Radio NBA analysts Olden Polonies one on X old what's up?
Speaker 10 (21:38):
Brother, Hey guys, how y'all doing doing?
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Good?
Speaker 11 (21:41):
Man?
Speaker 3 (21:42):
What up?
Speaker 1 (21:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (21:44):
We're watching this game right now. It's a good one.
You got a six point leave for the Pacers. Could
change after the street throw. But Ken, we've been talking
abut a little bit earlier. Can these two guys coexists?
Moving forward? Carl Anthony Towns Jalen Brunson, do you like
that dynamic? Offensively, it's kind of been a little difficult
to have both of them going at the same time
(22:04):
at at times.
Speaker 10 (22:07):
It's a tough situation because even though they play different positions,
they gotta have the balls because they both rhythm guys,
and so to me, that's the problem for the Knicks.
And defensively, we know it's like it's like two chairs
out there. So it's tough for the Knicks when they
have them in the lineup at the same time. But
(22:28):
unfortunately you got to play them together. But you know,
I've always said this, man play defensive mindset. You either
want to play defense or you don't. Gentlemen, I've seen
Jenleen Browns and play defense. So apparently now the lower
might be too heavy for him offensively to where he
refuses to play d and same would call Anthony Town.
So it's all the mindset. These guys have like changed
(22:49):
the mindset, like, well, I'm an offensive guy now, so
I don't want to play defense. That's that's the crap.
I don't like.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
I'm with you. You gotta want to It's about energy
and effort. I ain't got no way says, this is
one thing old and everybody can miss shot. So your
shots off one night or something, you know what I mean?
What they said you could always pack defense, you can't
always always no doubt about it.
Speaker 4 (23:11):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
I want to go to the Pacers.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
I didn't expect them to sweep the Nicks, so I
wasn't surprised really that they lost Game three. They had
a bad fourth quarter five for nineteen, one for eight
for three, they lost by six at home. I feel
confident and good that they'll win this game and they'll
win this series because the way they stole Game one,
I just don't think you could shake that.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
In a series.
Speaker 10 (23:34):
Well, first of all, they didn't steal Game one the Nick.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
Yes, no doubt, thank you, the you know what I
mean right, it was ace.
Speaker 10 (23:48):
The Knicks lose that game and they found a point two.
So with that being said, it's just it was a
heartbreaker for them. But I do believe the way the
Knicks beat them in Game three kind of like off
set it a little bit because the Pacers had a
twenty two point lead, they had chance to win that
game at home, and so it kind of like I
(24:10):
don't think it's the same, but it got close. See
and you know, I'm sitting here watching the game right now,
and that's the problem with Brunson. He's getting exposed a
little bit by his side. You know, they're running double
teams at him and that and Puss. He's tired. That's
the one that people are not talking about a lot.
The Knicks are tired.
Speaker 12 (24:30):
That's why.
Speaker 10 (24:31):
Yeah, Indiana's gonna win most likely because they just running
ten twelve guys at them.
Speaker 4 (24:37):
Man, that's what I've been screaming. I screamed at the
beginning of the series. I said, I just don't think
they can last. And I said, pun intended at the
pace in which the Pacers are played for a long series.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
I mean the Knicks.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
We know they play six seven guys and trying to
play a few the other night, but they just have
to be guys. We saw this happen with the Knicks
the last couple of years. They just get gassed and
get tired. And you can't expect these guys to be
playing both sides of the ball forty forty five minutes
if it goes into overtime forty eight minutes. Uh, these
guys are gassed. And I just think they won't be
able to last long enough in my opinion.
Speaker 10 (25:08):
Well, I'll say this. One of the things that I've
been saying about Timbodough is this. You can't stand there
with your arms crush and not make changes. You gotta
you gotta list the assistant coaches and you have other
players they'll call NBA players for a reason. Lathew Shaman
knows how to play the line right, knows how to play,
you know, precious of Chewan knows how to play. Put
(25:29):
them in the game.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Yeah, I've been screaming for it as well.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
And I've been saying, they come out Darvin Ham with
his hands in his pockets, what about them folded arms?
From uh from Tims. I've been screaming at all playoffs.
Oh and glad you feel me? What about let's go
to the Western Conference. We just got done talking about
h and Edwards. I said, this can be the last
time that he looks confused, doesn't know what to do
(25:53):
with defenses. He sees that, been admitting it throughout the season.
Oh man, somebody just do a weird efen. I didn't
know what to do. I was confused out there, and
I appreciate it. Can they're in honesty. This is the
last time he's twenty four. I cut him some slack.
But after this, he's got to pick it up and
be better at catching on to what defenses are doing early.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
That was my takeaway.
Speaker 10 (26:11):
Who was the guy I can't remember his name who
would saying that, oh, they double team in me, It's like, uh,
I mean that's a sign of respect that they double team.
Speaker 11 (26:21):
I don't like him.
Speaker 10 (26:23):
I don't like what today's players may be silly comments.
I really don't they do a weird defense. I mean,
what are you talking about. It's called defense, doesn't It's
not weird, it's just defense. You gotta figure it out.
You a basketball player, play basketball now. The thing that
really surprised me was the fact that in Game three
they came out with so much energy. And I always
say this and I gotta, you know, pressent do with this.
(26:45):
It shows you how when you get the right whistles,
certain things happen. Because the energy that came out in
game three, you know, the whistles allowed them to do
it more up Temple. Game four, they came out so lackluster,
and I think the referees were like, you know what,
(27:05):
they don't want to play, Well, we're just gonna call
the game this way, because to me, that was horrendous
how they came out. You know, I watched Anthony Edwards
warm up and he looked like his dog died, and
so to me, I was like, and I was so
like the other games he came out, he had a
smile in his face, he's bomping to the music and
(27:27):
that and the game four he didn't do that and
that that was startling to me. And also the other
thing I gotta say to you guys, and I don't
know how you guys feel about this. In game interviews
and pregame interviews the NBA, they got that one wrong.
They got to stop doing that crap. And I said
it to my brother, I said, I promise you, Julius
(27:48):
Randall has a terrible game because he's sitting there laughing
and giggling with Steven A. Smith and all in that.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
I couldn't believe it. I gotta admit to you, I was.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Shocked at how close to the game, not that he
did a tape something or whatever, but he literally went
from that to the national anthem, Like I was like.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
Am I right? I never saw that I was shopping.
Speaker 10 (28:10):
I've never seen that. They got to put it into that.
If I'm Minnesota, I'm saying no or whoever, any team, No,
we don't want to do this stuff.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
I would have been like, I'm not gonna lie for
the game.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
You said it. I thought it was taped. It was
so close. Was man, they had him say this is
too this can't be. He can't be doing this right now.
I can tell you this.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
In baseball, seriously, we do go in the pregame.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
If a picture starting that day, you don't go to him,
you do not talk to it.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Yeah, old and you don't even go near a pitture
who's pitching that day?
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Do you know what I mean? Like like there's no
pregame he started.
Speaker 10 (28:45):
Yeah. It blew my mind. I was so stunned by that.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
Yeah, that that was what I wanted to look at.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Okay, see looking dominant mostly throughout this playoffs. Obviously you're
not gonna not have some close games. What are you
making them just? And we had a conversation, I believe
it was we're just talking about Rob g was listening
on all these numbers. They're the greatest, one of the
greatest defensively in this era and in shot clock era
and they do this and the point differential, all these
amazing stats. But we both agree, Robin I, which is
(29:12):
a rarity that even if they were to winner this year,
which I predict they will, we're like, this isn't an
all time team despite the facts, just because the a
haven't done enough beat They don't have I've said that
that multiple stars.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
Yeah, Jayalen Williams isn't there yet. They don't have a name.
Speaker 4 (29:26):
They have a team nicknamed bad Boys at time, Lakers
something like that. What do you make of this team?
And they've been dominant, but do they leave something to
be desired?
Speaker 10 (29:36):
Hey man, let me tell you something. These guys they
won sixty eight games, but that's not in all times
because it's the era we're in right now, this style
of basketball, the new the rule change and everything else.
They got the pump merchant, this boy he and this
hit contact but they called the file on the defense.
It's absurd to me a lot of this stuff that's
going on. I like that team. I like what they're doing.
(29:58):
And to me, what I'm always said is this, whatever
the rules are, if you are able to take advantage
of it. More policy and that's what they've done, you know.
Plus they have the advantage at multiple positions, and so
to me, that's a big advantage for ok See, you know,
it's like Chase definitely winning his battles right now with whomever,
Mike Conley, you know, even when they put mcdalliels on him,
(30:22):
but at the same time, you put your best defender
on him. That means somebody's got to go get somebody else.
And that's why, okay, SE's kicking them apart.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
All right, here's ownen polonies. We appreciate you as always. Brother,
will do it again next week.

Number one Moxie Belandez All Jesu is a pirate to

just annoys me. And then after your show, Jason Smith,
he describes every movie, theater or movie action play. You
(32:31):
reverse everything to a movie. I don't watch movies. I
watch sports. I listened to here sports, not of some
dumb movie. And he has a dumb laugh too, Thanks, gentlemen,
good show, my goodness.
Speaker 1 (32:42):

So yes, what's up? Ken? Who you hit? Trashing?
Speaker 6 (33:06):
Nothing personal, Calvin, but I getting tied if you get
next time.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
And every time you.
Speaker 6 (33:10):
Mentioned Otani's names, you need to listen to him. Krup
he's not needing the leading. Many RBI is always hear
a few homers big deal. I'm getting the baby oil
out come out?
Speaker 4 (33:24):
Wow, just a few, right, He's leading the league major
leagues in home runs, but just a few, rob like
you know, three, four, five or something of those home
run things.
Speaker 1 (33:34):
Right.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
How about Pierce in Albany. You're in the odd couple

he guys having a freak off.
Speaker 10 (33:54):

Speaker 1 (33:57):
There's come on, Pier.
Speaker 11 (34:00):
You know I'm trashing show aay, because I was just
watching the thing over the week and he was playing
my Mets and he crushed it. He had a couple homers.
Guy's great. Don't get me wrong. I just think the
most overrated thing is the pitching and hitting thing, because
a he doesn't pitch. He hasn't pitch in the year.
Speaker 10 (34:16):
And a half.
Speaker 11 (34:17):
He got eight hundred million dollars.
Speaker 10 (34:18):
This guy doesn't pitch.
Speaker 11 (34:19):
And I just think that the hardest thing to do
in baseball, in all of sports, is to hit live pitching,
and I think that people who switch hits are more
impressive than a guy who pitches and hits from one side.
We've just seen switched hitters before, so you're used to it.
But a guy like a Lindor, like a Beltron in
(34:39):
his prime, guys who was switch hit for a professional
hitters Hall of Fame caliber hitters from two sides of
the plate is just as impressive, if not way more
impressive than the guy who can pitch and a guy
who can hit.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
Okay, I mean they're great, but we can to be like, hey,
all right, I love it.
Speaker 2 (35:01):

on these streets it's getting real very nice.
Speaker 4 (36:45):
All right, spirited trash talk. All right, So I guess
this is this is my week with Ken Dunton like me,
because you know he kind of like flops every week. Yes,
all right, so this is my week. We're getting mad
at me every week. Uh and yeah, And like Sewan said,

it or not. You think I just came here by myself.
I think you have a family group. Check what chin?

Speaker 2 (37:46):
You guys just hated because we didn't wait challenge and
I took it seriously, and you guys just decided we
were business McDonald's.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
What was I eating?
Speaker 10 (37:56):
What I was?
Speaker 2 (37:57):
I mean, I know plenty of people with kids who
are but you don't spelt wow. But I know guys
who don't have kids who are bigger than I am.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
I mean, god people right, they don't have any kids
and they weigh four hundred pounds.
Speaker 4 (38:12):
First of all, just don't. Our whole point is, don't
get at us while we're enjoying. What were you enjoying
a quarter pounds of robb were you?
Speaker 1 (38:19):

Speaker 1 (38:31):
