Coming up in about twenty eight minutes, we'll be down
with the King, Sean King. We'll do that and a
lot more in this hour number two, Rob G has
some comments Kelvin from the Odd Mob on YouTube.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
Yeah, we got a couple in year first from the
Shoe bet, a DJ named Slash says k dub Broke.
Professor robof with the Mob Jordan forty pieces, big fan
of those shoes.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Nice.
Speaker 5 (01:47):
Here's another one here we got from Birds at the Rodeo,
says rob Kyle Winning has fresh off leading Utah to
a number fifteen ranking to finish this past season one
seventy seven and eighty eight career record. He's gonna stabilize Michigan,
stop it, okay? And then these are my sixty six
These are my favorite ones.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
This is all.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
This is all from the top of the top of
the show. The Dak Prescott, Max Crosby comments. James Golden
says rob G needs his own show. Bernards for Us
says Talk Yo Talk rob G.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
Yeah, rob G, you know what, Yeah, you should go.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
I'll call up and we'll get your show on a
CBS Sports network.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
Oh wait a minute, I'm sorry, that's too soon. Sorry,
this is my favorite one. Barry Bonds is the home
run King says rob G is correct and he should
go stocked and slap Rob Parker. Wow, apparently I had
the voice of reason on that topic.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah to a bunch of losers.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Rob G also picked Philip Rivers over Caleb Williams.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
Hey, hey, Rob Parker. The Lions, they they did, they failed.
I paid up. This is what I do. You know
if I lose. But by the way, Rob G said
that the New York Giants were gonna be the best
team in the NFC East.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
By the way, now we're over here arguing about number one.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
That was your pick. I only there's always the worse.
The first I had the new Right. It just ended
up being New England New York. But I was right there.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
I had the New Right. All right, Well that's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
Let me tell you what I had right and what
did you have? Uh?
Speaker 1 (03:25):
The idea about Jared Golf, I've been telling you this
for a while, and I don't care what the numbers are.
I heard Colin Cowherd talk about Jared Golf doesn't get
consideration despite his numbers with the quarterback or whatever, and people,
I get it. He puts up coming into the game.
I think he had thirty two touchdowns. Rob G checkman
from wrong just five interceptions, you're correct, But of course
(03:49):
here was yet another big game where he went to bed.
He did it last year after getting the number one
seed in the NFC. Taking on a rookie quarterback, he
turned the ball over four times right, four times, three
interceptions and a fumble. Here he is he has five
(04:11):
of the lions six turnovers. We talk about the Lions did,
they had more turnovers than the bakery yesterday against the
third string quarterback who Robb g had the net yards
passing yards of negative three?
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Is that what? It was?
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Negative of three yards net passing yards of three yards
Kelvin in a game just to keep their hopes alive, right,
It didn't mean you made the playoffs, by.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
I mean if they couldn't.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
You gotta at least win it against the nobody.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
The guy only had like forty one yards of my
righthar was a fifty one yards rob G passing fifty
one yards. But no, he has five turnovers. If you
want to know why he became available to the Detroit Lions,
it's because and remember the Lions got a lot of
(05:06):
picks in it too, I get it right. But the
reason that they the Rams who went to the Super
Bowl with Jared Golf moved on is they couldn't believe
this guy can't win a big game for them. That
was what they believe. And if you have not watched
the last couple of years and you're still not convinced,
if I'm the Lions, hello, is this on? I would
(05:30):
do whatever I could in my power to move off
of Jared Golf. He's not going to get you where
you're trying to go. Will you win games, yes you will.
Will you be in the mix somehow, some way, yes
you will. But the ultimate goal in Detroit, who was
never right, which has never won a super Bowl, is
(05:53):
to win the Super Bowl. I am convinced a thousand
percent that Jared Goff will never win you with Super Bowl.
And even if they have to eat the contract like
they did with Russell Wilson, look at the Broncos. They
took an unbelievable hit to walk away from Russell Wilson
(06:15):
and guess where they are fighting for the number one
seed in the AFC with a chance with that defense,
a chance to get to the super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
At some point you have to be honest and look
at a guy and go he's good. He can get
me to a certain place. It happens with coaches all
the time. Came when we talk about it. This coach
got me here, he can't get me over the hump,
and sometimes you gotta make it.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Probably the greatest move in NFL history, one of.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Was when the Tampa Bay Bucks said to Tony Dungee,
thank you, but we've had enough, and they hired you.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
And guess what.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
With Tony Dungee's team, John Gruden won that franchise a
super Bowl. Don't be afraid of the unknown, be afraid
of the known. And that is what you need to
be afraid of. Be afraid of the known. The known
(07:22):
is that Jared Golf can't win a big game when.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
You need it.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
It's happened way too often for a guy who's put
up the kind of numbers that he's put up.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
Detroit Lions, don't be satisfied.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
You still have a good nucleus, but you're not gonna
win anything with Jared Golf.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
I'm convinced of that.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Uh couple, Okay, so a couple of things.
Speaker 6 (07:48):
Jared Goff has been for a guy who was traded
for a guy who people thought was just gonna be
a guy that obviously, if you're Lynes, you get this
guy in the trade, he'll go away in a year
or two and you'll move on. Has all of a
sudden been a part of the rebuild of Detroit. He's
been part of the turnaround of Detroit. He has been,
as you know, for being there for twenty years, the
only time in my life except for maybe a year
(08:10):
or so in like mid nineties, where being in a
Super Bowl or having Super Bowl aspirations were absolutely warranted
the last two or three years. And so, while I admit,
and I said this to you guys about three four
weeks ago, the Lion's window with Jared Golf is very
it is very close to being closed. I agree, and
I said this because of this. Jared Goff is exceptionally talented.
(08:34):
When everything is exactly aligned. When everything is aligned with him,
you know what you get. You get second and passing yards,
second and passing touchdowns third and passer rating tied for
fifth lowest interceptions.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
You get.
Speaker 6 (08:48):
You'll get that year after year after year when things
are perfectly aligned.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
And to his credit, he did do that this.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
Year when things were not in line, because this season
had a bunch of injuries. This season, had a bunch
of miss calculations by his own coach put him in
bad spots. The challenge with Jared Goff is rob and
I said this a few weeks ago. He is the
last of a dying breed. Stand in the pocket, take one, two, three, four,
step back. Somebody has to be open. He can't. Dan
(09:17):
Campbell I was shocked. He said this publicly at laughter
last night's game. He said, if he can't put his
back foot down, if he can't step forward, well it's
gonna be hard for him because he doesn't have Caleb
williams es capability and talent and just pure sheer athleticism.
He doesn't have it like a Jared Jordan love Hey,
you mentioned bow knicks. He doesn't have a Josh Allen
(09:37):
Lamar Jackson. Almost every drake may almost every quarterback sands
for maybe four Our mobile, our athletic can get out
of the pocket, can create things. So when sometimes it's
not a great design, go make something happen. Jared Goff,
ain't that so if the Lions who don't want to
take a cap hit of I think it's almost ninety
(09:58):
eight million dollars this off season if they were just
you know, let him go, and you mentioned the Russell
Wilson which was like eighty million, then they're gonna be
stuck with him. And the thing they have to do
is say this is our guy, were second, second, third, fifth,
lowis with him. They have to have the top one,
two or three offensive line.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Rob. That's it. You have to.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
Otherwise it is going to implode in your face because
he cannot be good or even solid if he's not protected.
You have to have the top three offensive line with
Jared Goff. There's no other way around it, because then
you can have a running game and it protects him
as well. If you're not gonna protect him with the
running game, which they didn't really the last quarter of
(10:41):
the season, and if you're not gonna protect him with
the offensive line where you see teams pressure in him
almost forty percent pressure on every drop back, he's not
gonna be successful. He's gonna have games like that and
it's gonna cost you as a team. So I think
they're gonna come back next season because a next season
Rob after it, then he drops down the.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Niggat's upper two.
Speaker 6 (11:00):
He's twenty eight twenty nine million dollars to cap it
that's much more feasible, much more realistic. And so I
think that we just saw Russell will Russell Wilson was
eighty five million.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
I mean, and no, I get.
Speaker 6 (11:11):
You on the money, but I think that's a massive
gamble that we know teams don't want to take. They
just took it. Sean Payton convinced him the obviously they
couldn't go on. There was a riff between them. Golf
and Dan Campbell love each other.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Yeah, but it's not about It's not about whether I
like the guy or not. How many big games you
can't even be the third string quarterback who threw for
fifty one yards. And I get the pressure and the
offensive line. Okay, I get that. I'm not trying to
act like everything is perfect, but that's not how football is.
Everything's not going to be perfect for you, and you
(11:44):
got to be able to adjust. Even in watching that game,
there were throws there. We had protection in some time
and he missed those.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
I mean he.
Speaker 6 (11:53):
Because you know you know what that reminded me of.
That's a good point. That reminds me of CJ. Stroud,
and that reminds me of of two At times, there's
a handful of quarterbacks this year who have been running
for their life. And what happens is you start to
have PTSD even when it's not there. You start freaking out,
even when the play is actually there, Step up in
(12:13):
the pocket, make the throw. Lamar Jackson has had that
sometimes where you're just panicking when it's not even time
to panic. The pocket was good. And that's what happens
when you've been running, especially for a guy like a
Jared Goff who is not able to escape, other guys
can escape. Justin Herbert has been escaping more this year
than I've seen his whole dagone career because he's like, Hey,
if it's a play to be made, I'm gonna have
(12:34):
to make it, I'm gonna have to take it. And
I think that is gonna be the standard now. It's
like a big man in the NBA rop back in
the day. If all you can do is dunk and
block a shot, cool, come on up here, big seven footer. Now,
if you can't shoot past dribble as a big.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Man, you're useless.
Speaker 6 (12:50):
If you can't win me and beat me and yokich me.
And I think Jared Goff is the last of that breed.
Quarterbacks who are only good on the drop back, and
that's it. And I think the Lions are gonna have
to move and the next after next year.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
So so you're convinced like I am, that he can't
win a Super Bowl for you next year?
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Is their only here?
Speaker 6 (13:09):
No, No, I just they can't because it too much
is reliant on everything to be.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
Perfect, all right?
Speaker 4 (13:15):
Eight seven.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
I just don't think that's what it is anymore.
Speaker 1 (13:17):

Speaker 6 (15:39):
Jared Goff eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. I
think he's got a shelf life of another year. So
to get it done with the Lions before they got
to look, Rob says, get it done now if you
can eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Are we both dripping? Jared Goff's put up numbers? Maybe
you say we're wrong? Who we got?
Speaker 1 (15:55):
Jordan in DC? You're on the couple Fox Sports Radio.
What's happened to Jordan?
Speaker 8 (16:00):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (16:01):
Hey, Rob Calvin, how you guys?
Speaker 8 (16:02):
Doing?
Speaker 9 (16:03):
Happy holiday?
Speaker 2 (16:03):
You too?
Speaker 8 (16:06):
Oh yeah, there's.
Speaker 9 (16:08):
This Merry Christmas to everybody. At the Fox Studios. But no,
I think I think the Lions need to move on
from Jared Golf. And it's not to say because I
think he's a bad quarterback. I just think, you know,
I'm from DC. They were fifteen and two last year.
The road to the Super Bowl went through Detroit, and
you let Jayden Daniels quarterback and the Commanders. Like I said,
(16:29):
I've watched this team, the Commanders, they're not They're not
a model franchise. Many means you let them come into
your building and your season like that.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
And the reason it happened is because Jared Golf went
the bad would four turnovers.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
That's why.
Speaker 9 (16:42):
Yeah, exactly. I just think. I just think when when
things like that happened, it's hard to come back. It's like,
you know, I kind of get a little bit afraid
of it sometimes with with with with the Ravens as well.
I want to see lamarn win the Super Bowl. But
I'm like, you know, when they were fourteen and two
a few years ago and Derreck Henry the Titians ran
in there and ended this and I'm like, it's going
to happen in that season? When is it going to happen?
(17:03):
For you chaking my call.
Speaker 8 (17:04):
Guys.
Speaker 4 (17:05):
Thanks Jordan appreciated, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
Mike in Texas, you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
What's up, Mike, what's up feelings?
Speaker 8 (17:13):
How you guys doing doing great?
Speaker 4 (17:14):
Happy holidays?
Speaker 10 (17:16):
Hey, I want to say this one thing, man, y'all
be jamming in between me. I'll played some break to
day man.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
I said, oh yeah, yes, yeah.
Speaker 10 (17:27):
The thing the thing with God Man, they can think
that two charges improve the offensive line.
Speaker 11 (17:33):
I'll move on from him.
Speaker 10 (17:34):
Cause you know, Chargon wasn't That wasn't the active either,
but he had a herb offensive line. That's how he
want the three Super Bowls. But you gotta just day
in town. You gotta be more mobile, man. That's just
all it is.
Speaker 6 (17:46):
Yeah, And that's and that's what I was saying. They
have to have Rob. They got to get back to
my call. They got to either have that top two
three line. They had number one rushing game number one,
number two. You have to have that otherwise he sees
too exposed. You Key's too exposed and teams know that.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Hey, Chuck in Michigan, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
What's up, Chuck? Chu Chuck.
Speaker 11 (18:10):
Hey, guys, love your show.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
Thank you. Happy Holidays to you and the family.
Speaker 8 (18:14):
My man too.
Speaker 11 (18:15):
You guys made my night tonight because I've been as
an avid Lions fan. I'm from the d I live
in the little town called Miskegan, which is on the
other side of the state.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
Now, come on, man, we know about Michigan. You know that.
Speaker 11 (18:28):
Oh good, good good, and uh yeah, especially in Anna
Aver tonight. But we'll talk about that later. But we're
getting back to Jared Golf. You guys are spot on
when it comes to him. I sit here, and again,
I don't want to act like some authority on football
because I don't know a lot about football. I'm just
a fan, right, pretty analytical fan and stuff like that.
(18:48):
But I studied the McVeigh trade and I'm a huge
Matt Stafford fan. I deliterally had tears in my eyes
when he left Detroit and it had to happen. And
of course I got a Florida and Gibbs and Golf Stafford,
so it's a it's a pretty good trade off. They
won a Super Bowl. But the main thing with Jared Goff,
there's two things I'd like to say. The main thing
(19:09):
with him, guys, and I really can't put this in
the words, but he does not have the it factor.
And there'll be a lot of Lions fans that would
disagree with me, and a lot of my friends disagree
with me. But when and I like him. I think
he's a nice man. I think he's a good quarterback.
I think he's relatively smart lately, and you hit it
(19:29):
right on the head. Everything has to line up for him,
including the offensive coordinator. Now, Dan Campbell, point number two,
Dan Campbell to me, with all due respect, you guys
might disagree. He's great culture builder. I like Dan Campbell.
He's a horrible offensive coordinator. Gives up the middle.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Yeah with that, No, no, no, we got it. We
appreciate the call night trying to see somebody, but I
get it. It's supposed to be that. That wasn't the
game player, and he has to go and improve that
and do something else because that absolutely isn't going to work.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
That's not what he's called to do.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Right before we get to uh uh Sean King uh
Jabari in Michigan, you're in the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (20:18):
What's what's up? Jabari? How are you merry?
Speaker 12 (20:20):
Christmas, what's up? Merry Christmas and future Happy New Years
to both of you guys. To you, no problem, no problem.
So for me, I mean honestly, I would say right now,
I would not say that I will move on for him.
I think next season it would be like it would
be like, Okay, you got to really show me what
you got. These last three four.
Speaker 10 (20:42):
Seasons has been very good to see what he has
done with the Lions.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
Let me just ask you seriously, in the big games though,
come on, you did did you expect that stinker yesterday?
Speaker 4 (20:54):
Seriously?
Speaker 8 (20:55):
No?
Speaker 12 (20:55):
No, But but we have seen big players that have
had had bad games before. But my thing and saying
I'm not going to blame if you if you told
me the reason why they're not in the playoffs, I
would not.
Speaker 10 (21:05):
Say the main thing is him.
Speaker 8 (21:07):
It's not him.
Speaker 12 (21:07):
The main people that I'm looking at is Brad Home.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
Last year, why didn't they advance after playing a rookie
quarterback at home with the top seed in the NFC.
Speaker 4 (21:15):
What was the reason there?
Speaker 8 (21:16):
Well, let me tell you right now.
Speaker 12 (21:18):
I mean, obviously Jered Golf did not did not play well.
Those turnovers were definitely a big, big deal. But the
main thing I look at is more so the defense.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Now I disagree. I think that I think you're letting
him off the hook. And let me just say this, Jabari.
They were nine and a half point favorites going into
that game. Nobody got hurt in that game on the defense.
The defense was already hurt. They believed that they would
outscore Washington because they had the firepower. When you turn
the ball over as a quarterback four times and have
(21:48):
a running back Kelvin, throw an interception as well, right,
I mean at a receiver, I mean throw an interception
as well the receiver do that, You're putting the defense
in a bad spot. Okay, with with the bad quarterback
giving up that turning the ball over that often, That's
all I'm saying, Jaboi, we appreciate you, my men.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
I as bad as that was that defense to me
and finally caught up all those injuries.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
Uh, can you turn the ball over and give with
the defense in the spot, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (22:20):
But I'm saying the defense all the turnle was finally
caught up against him going to making Jayson Daniels look
like Lamar at his best that particular game, all right,
we got Sean King. We'll be down with King on
the other side right now, Steve the Sega getting a
set on what's training?
Speaker 2 (22:32):
Hey, Steve.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 6 (22:44):
Join up by our man, Sean King, former NFL quarterback
Fox Sports Radio NFL analyst Real seaw King on x Shaw.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
What up man, Mary? But lated Christmas, Harry, Christmas right
to you and the fam.
Speaker 8 (22:58):
Holidays. A lot of good stuff, man, Thanks for having
me on Fellas and Sean.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
How many kids you got? Fours A four? Four beautiful kids?
Oh my goodness, gios beautiful.
Speaker 8 (23:10):
All the credit goes to the mother.
Speaker 4 (23:11):
Yes, she is a beautiful woman and four beautiful children.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
Awesome, man, Pross.
Speaker 6 (23:17):
We just started talking. Uh, I don't want to get
off the hook talking that tulane. Oh yeah, talking that
tulane stuff.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
Yeah, that's where you are, that's where that's where you
give former players a bad name because you guys got
skinned in the game. My school tulane and you look
out for tulane and then you out there looking crazy
with that game, so well.
Speaker 8 (23:40):
You know how to operate. The truth doesn't have emotions,
it's just the truth. I was as disappointed as I've
ever been in a football team, not because we lost,
because I never, as an alum, watched that game and
felt like we really believed that we were winning, and
that was surprising to me. So it's not that I
(24:01):
was being like emotional before the game or only picking
Tulane because I went there like it's not like, oh
miss is this great juggernaut, Like the right G five
team could have winn and won that game, and I
was disappointed that we didn't show. It was an enthusiasm
unknown the mankind because of the opportunity. All Right, I'm
(24:27):
a real one, fellas, I don't I don't back down
when I'm wrong.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
Okay, no, I.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
Feel you trust me. I was crazy.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
That's why Kelvin doesn't back down either, because I said
the Lions wouldn't make the playoffs and he paid off
with a pair of Jordan's today.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
So I'm very happy about that.
Speaker 11 (24:46):
What's that Jordan's?
Speaker 8 (24:50):
Yes, that was.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
You got.
Speaker 8 (24:53):
You gotta understand, like certain friends that are lucky and
certain why is the hateristic lucky friends. He hates everything
Detroit for some reason, and it generally comes true. No, don't,
don't be on the other side of his Detroit wagers
on Waite.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
The other wager ones the Pistols beating the Nats in
the playoffs, and I won that a pair of Jordans
after basketball season.
Speaker 8 (25:21):
That one.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
I was definitely just having some more fun with the Lions.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
When I'm gonna be honest with you, I absolutely thought,
like there's no way not because I told robber g
I thought they'd be eleven and six, twelve and five
if you don't make the postseason, lose two or three
or four, two to four games, losing their their coordinators.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
And you can jump in on this.
Speaker 6 (25:39):
You played the position we were talking about, Jared Goff,
and I believe he's the last of a dying breed
and that type of quarterback won't exist anymore.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
And everything has.
Speaker 6 (25:50):
To be perfect, the absolute best offensive line, the absolute
best play calling, and the absolute best running attack to
have him at his best where he can act when
you a chance to go in a deep playoffs And yeah,
go ahead, Rod.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Yeah, I'm gonna say, Sean, I'm saying, I'm convinced he
can't win you a super Bowl, the big games.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
He has terrible games and just to stay alive. Yesterday
he has five and five turnovers.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
In that game. Just an awful game last year against
Washington four turnovers. Uh, that's why, that's why, Uh, the
Rams wanted to cut bait with him. They don't think
he can win a big game. Where are you and
Jared Golf in his future with the Lions.
Speaker 11 (26:31):
So this is a.
Speaker 8 (26:32):
Fascinating conversation, sim one that we don't have nearly enough
time to go into. But I'm gonna clip note the
Detroit Lions, why would you want a quarterback that a
brilliant offensive line is Sean McVay. Then right, go back
to the Matthew Stanford trades, Right, what was it about
(26:54):
Sean McVay and his offensive brilliance? And said, you know what,
I ain't really killing golf And that was after making
a super Bowl with Golf.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
Thank you. I've said that a million times. Like it's
not like you didn't get there. You got there and
you didn't want them, right like.
Speaker 8 (27:10):
Grand Flores, just like tee total Dolphins, Z. What is
it about tour just y'all think we continue to kick
this can down this road to get to a point
where we're gonna pay in fifty plus million dollars. Like,
sometimes the truth is right there in front of you
and don't acknowledge it. And I said that to say this.
Sometimes a great head coach does not make a great
play caller, and sometimes a great play caller does not
(27:33):
make a great head coach. Ben Jackson seems to be both.
Dan Campbell seems to only be one, and for the
Detroit Lands to take the next step, I think he
has to acknowledge that although he has a great ability
to lead men designing an offense from week to week
that's productive and consistent, it is by his strength. He's
(27:54):
got to go and hire a real coordinator to come
into Detroit or otherwise this will not end well for
mister Van Campbell. He got out coached. Can you believe, Rob,
they lost the game with other team then throw for
thirty yards?
Speaker 6 (28:07):
No, we just talked about that, both of those vikings.
Rob knows I've been saying this, go ahead, Sean.
Speaker 8 (28:15):
No, they had seven yards passing at one point and
we're winning.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
I agree, Uh, I do want to ask you about
the Packers, and uh, Jordan Love is out. I mean,
obviously the Lions are out now, but just where are
we with the Packers going forward? Are do you still
feel good about them or not? Obviously they lost Michael
Parsons as well.
Speaker 8 (28:40):
Yeah, they could have passed this year. Okay, but that's
kind of been the their m motor the last couple
of years. They've got a So when you look at
the Chicago Bears, everybody's kind of they're not complete on defense,
but offensively, if Caleb can just keep refining himself a little,
if they got weapons right when Green Bay is healthy,
(29:02):
they're the same way. I mean, when they got Christian
Watson and Tucker Craft and Romeo Doves and Jordan Reid
and Matthew Golden and with like, they got guys, but
they've never been healthy at the same time. Now, Jordan
Love is battling concussion. Malik Willis comes in, he plays
pretty well, he's got a shoulder. I don't know what
(29:24):
it is. Maybe it's the fact that you're living in Wisconsin.
No offense to Wis Kontson, but I did like take
a shot at the state of Wisconsin. You did, right,
maybe the cheese the right man, but they got to
figure out how to stay healthy. They're not a threat
this year Rob because of injury, but if they can
never get fully healthy, they're super talented.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Yeah, I think there's a I think there's something about
uh La floor. At some point, he's got to win
big two and I get you this year, but they've
won a lot of games in the regular season in
his career.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
They just haven't been able to get to the next step.
Speaker 8 (29:56):
So I give you watch one thing before I leave.
It doesn't look perfect right now, but I'm just telling you.
In the NFC, don't sleep on the Philadelphia Eagles and
then the AFC, don't sleep on the Houston Texas, either
of those.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
What was the A what team the Texans?
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Okay, And one last day, I want to we want
to ask you about Max Crosby uh and just the
idea that he's saying, Man, I'm here to play, I'm
a player.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
I don't want to sit down. Do you respect that
or or or do you think he's crazy?
Speaker 8 (30:35):
You know, I respect that, but you got to understand
the context behind the organization's position and Crosby's position. Remember
this time last year, Antonio appears his first year as
a head coach in NAT's Footballer. He's trying to favor
his job. The Raiders went out in one two of
the last three games and messed up their draft position,
(30:56):
end up picking I think six instead of first or second.
So ownership new GM spy tech from Tampa. New head
coach pick Carroll. What is the difference between finishing two
and fifteen and four and thirteen. They're both losing season.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
So my only thing and pushback is well, can you
give me my four hundred dollars that I spent on
tickets since you're not playing.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
Well, I'm just saying I want my money back. Then
if you do that, I'm good with it.
Speaker 8 (31:30):
Rob in Detroit, that's a fair argument. In Vegas win.
Does Vegas have a home game? They play like seventeen
road games? I mean every game the homes God say
they take it. I'll say this though, they also put
they also put rock bowers on ir. They're making sure
because they play the Giants and the Chiefs without patching mahomes.
(31:51):
So they're trying to make sure that we don't go
out and mistakenly win these last two games. Even if
you're not gonna take mctondoza. You want to have the
number one pick because of the resources and ad sets.
They're trading out of that pick and bring you. So
this ad management saying, hey, we're gonna take control. I
wouldn't be surprised if Geno them play this entire game.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Yeah, they want Gino in there so you could throw
a couple of picks.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
You know, it's bad when they want you to play
because you might lose the game. That's bad, Sean.
Speaker 6 (32:22):
Appreciate Sean. That's served out. Happy New Year to you
as well. Hey, Rob, it might be time somebody needs
to know when is win when it's time to call
it a career.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
We'll tell you who we're talking.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
You mean, like the Michigan coach.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
Oh, I'm sorry it's.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Rob.
Speaker 6 (32:39):
G hr you Elijah because when you hit that age,
I'm burning a mess out this tape. I'm gonna play
it so much. Rob, it's time to walk out. Rob,
get out. Rob, it's time out.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
I'm gonna walk out.
Speaker 2 (32:50):

Speaker 6 (34:00):
What Travis kelce emotional game last home game of the season.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
Could it be his last home game ever? In the NFL.
Speaker 5 (34:11):
Yeah, all signs point two and no. We guys talked
about this after the end of last season. Remember leading
up to the Super Bowl. One of the big talking
points that we had down in New Orleans was, Hey,
every reporter, every teammate on and off the record, has said,
when we win this Super Bowl here against Philadelphia, Travis
Kelce is gonna ride up into the sunset going back
to back to back. And instead they got molly wopped
(34:33):
by the Eagles. And suddenly Travis Kelsey had to change
of hearts saying, you know what, I can't go out
like that. I got to run it back one more time.
See what happens this season goes even worse, worst season
that the Chiefs have had in the Mahomes Andy Reid
era and now you mentioned it last night their last
home game of the season Arrowhead. And the speculation again
is now with Travis Kelce heading into into a free agency,
(34:59):
that he has played in his last home game at
Earrawhead Stadium, that he will retire after the season.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
I want to say this, Kelvin, Yeah, this is not
Travis Kelce's call. If I'm the chief thank you very much.
You got the CONFEDERI you had the parades, You're not coming.
His contract is up after the season.
Speaker 4 (35:22):
Enough done.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
I'm at the point right now that I'd rather have
Kelsey Grammar be my tight end than Travis Kelcey. Enough,
already enough, You're not gonna get to go out the
way you want. And oh no, I can't go out
like that. Oh one more year. I can't go out
with us not making the playoffs. Oh I can't go No, No,
(35:45):
you got to turn the page. And as an organization,
you can't live in the past. And yes, he had
a better year than last year, because last year was awful. Okay,
so this year is better, there's no doubt about it,
But the team's better. He didn't have the same impact.
I don't get it.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
It's not your choice.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Unless he's been told, you know what I mean, Like,
unless they.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
No, I'm just telling you that if you're the organization,
you have to you have to be the one, because
gods will stay as long as they.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
Can, you know what I mean, Like, seriously, they.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
Will so rob to me.
Speaker 6 (36:21):
Even though he statistically had a better year this year.
You and I both have talked about it, and this
is one of those few things we agree on. It
just didn't have the same impact.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
That's a big difference.
Speaker 6 (36:30):
Right, Yes, he had better numbers, but if you watch
the games tip passes that he couldn't catch the tips
in the air, that's an interception on Patrick Mahane missing blocks,
running into players early in the season injuring them.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
He's just been off in and it happens with most people.
Speaker 11 (36:45):
You have.
Speaker 6 (36:45):
You watched Lebron, Lebron ain't looking like Lebron love last year.
We're gonna talk about that time. Uh and uh So
I believe it should be a rap. It should be over.
And here's the best part about it, Rob's both of
y'all don't have to look further than his own family member,
his brother. He went out after a Super Bowl loss,
(37:06):
a loss in the Super Bowl, and yet he was
able to just stay retired and move on, and folks
were calling him and he.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
Start his new career.
Speaker 6 (37:14):
He started his new careers, done very well for himself
and you know, and is moving on. I'm not saying
it's easy. They're doing something that you know, such a
small percentage of human beings on earth get to do,
and they love it. And I love this game since
I was four or five or six. I'm sure they
would say. But at a certain point, it ain't always
going to go out the way you want. Everybody can't
bet John l Way. You know, Jerome Bettis where you
(37:35):
kind of go out perfectly.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
Along Bettans was perfect because he won a Super Bowl
in his hometown, in his hometown.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
But you get what I mean.
Speaker 6 (37:44):
Everybody can't have that that Cinderella or the male version
of Cinderella send off.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
So to me this you had an amazing Hall of
Fame career ended here.
Speaker 6 (37:53):
It is what it is speaking of Hall of Fame careers,
The Lakers, Lebron things aren't well here in LA.
Speaker 2 (37:59):
We'll talk about the next stay with us M
