Rob and Kelvin debate whether the Oklahoma City Thunder Big 3 of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams is poised to win multiple championships, and tell us why it's unfair to say that Devin Booker 'isn't serious about winning' after he signed a lucrative contract extension with the middling Phoenix Suns. Plus, the Odd Couple Crew debates unsavory charity work in this week's edition of Shop Talk.

Just talk that talk. Sorry, Rob G.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
We have more NBA news. I said they're giving away
money like their food stamps. Money all over the place.

Speaker 6 (02:03):
Money money, money, that's right.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
The reigning NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder they locked up
the third and final member of their Big three all
NBA four Jalen Williams, has agreed to a five dollar
jdubb five year max rookie contract extension that could reach
up to two hundred and eighty seven million dollars. So
when you factor in his deal with the SGA deal,

(02:26):
with the chet Hongreen deal, Oklahoma City has now agreed
to eight hundred and twenty two million dollars worth of
salary extensions just in the last two weeks. Guys, and
just I know you cares.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
In the city economy.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
That's true, And I know you care about this kind
of stuff, guys. Exactly, these contracts are all gonna kick
in kind of around the same time. So in the
twenty seven to twenty eight season, three years from now,
starting then, these guys will make just the three of
them one hundred and fifty four million, one hundred and
sixty six million, one hundred and seventy eight million, and

(03:00):
one hundred and ninety million dollars. Ok C. They're breaking
bread out there right now.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Man, we are breaking bread.

Speaker 6 (03:08):
We in the wrong state?

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Rock crazy. Do they have taxes out there? I don't
even know. I've only been there, I think one time.

Speaker 6 (03:15):
Yeah, I've been.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
Also, they have state taxes, I'm assuming they do.

Speaker 6 (03:20):
Yeah, I don't know if they're Texas or Florida.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Now, the only problem is the tumbleweed tax. You know,
you might get hit with two or three of them
if you're walking downtown.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
There is state tax.

Speaker 6 (03:29):
It's worth it.

Speaker 7 (03:30):
If I'm making forty to fifty sixty million here, I'll
be all right.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
You know what I'm gonna I'm gonna be outside the box.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
And you know this, I'm the biggest players guy to
deserve every nickel that they get. When you're working for
somebody and they're paying you that kind of loot, it
tells you how much money the league is making and
the teams are making because they're not paying I'm a
business owner, Kelvin, You're you're a business owner. They're not
paying those guys unless they got it. So they got it.

(04:00):
But my point here is, forget about the extensions. What
I would have done if I was the Thunder, I
would have been thinking the forward spin is we just
won a championship. We're not winning three in a row.
The NBA is not set up that way. Something will
go wrong, somebody, something will happen. It just doesn't set
up that way. People in Oklahoma City dissatisfied. They haven't

(04:23):
seen anything like this since two cows collided downtown.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
I mean, like.

Speaker 6 (04:29):
Bill, nothing like that. Ruh.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
All I'm saying is I would have said, Okay, I
got Shay, that's my main guy, and now I'm gonna
trade one of the other two chet or Jay Dubb
and Bill for you know what I mean for the
next round.

Speaker 5 (04:46):
Two of them is enough. You don't need three guys
in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Everybody, it's two guys, and you got your number one,
you pick your second one, and you're not worrying about
three years from now. Oh, we're gonna have to get
rid of somebody.

Speaker 6 (04:59):
I'll do.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
We've already done that.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
We've already advanced that where we got another you know,
younger players where you're not paying out that kind of money,
and then.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
You could sustain your run.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Here, I'm just saying, I'm not against them getting paid.
I just wonder about them paying three young guys. Very
seldom are you in this situation, Kelvin, Well, you got
three guys at one time that you have to pay, right,
it just doesn't happen.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
And I just wonder.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Yeah, And I'm just saying, and I think I would
have looked at it that way. Who's the other guy
that we need to keep? And then we'll go get
somebody else, do a sign and trade, you know what
I mean. Get somebody younger that we don't have to pay,
who's got an upside, who's really good or whatever, and
we'll pay him two years from now or whatever it is.

Speaker 7 (05:48):
I think the reason why this could work, and I
actually get your point, but the reason why I think
this could work couple of things number one even more so,
believe it or not, then the previous they had. I
think this big three is better serve to win than
the Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and I think

(06:08):
they have the perfect nucleus to try to do what
that three was trying to do. And part of that
is because of the fit Rob. You have three guys
who none of them want to be the star, none
of them want to be the you know, I'm the man,
I'm the out look at me.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
It's all about me.

Speaker 7 (06:24):
You got three guys who have routinely said it's all
about the collective, it's all about the team, and that's
a rarity. And when you get that, that could equal
some potential long sustained success.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
And when you have guys who play different roles.

Speaker 7 (06:37):
Chet is a guy who kind of can do the
Chris Bosh with the heatles or Horace Grant with the
bulls and that tonight you need me to score a
cool I can get twenty. But if you need me
to just get you fifteen and fifteen and a handful
of blocks, I can do that. And then you got
a guy in j Dubb who is a great defenders,
an All NBA defender this year who can also be
a bucket.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
He was an All NBA guy, an All Star me.

Speaker 7 (06:57):
So you have the perfect nucleus, in my opinion, even
more so than the previous three. The previous three, rob
I think you looked at Kevin Durrant was Kevin Rant.
Obviously he was the best. He was a scorer and
all of that, so you kind of put that check. Okay,
he's over there, but his temperament didn't mix well with
Russell Westbrook's temperament. Right, You had guys who he's more combustible,
he's more emphatic, he's more you know, raw energy. And

(07:20):
we see that I didn't work with Kevin Durant, right
because he leaves this him and Russ leaving a beef.

Speaker 6 (07:24):
Russ called him a cupcake and all that.

Speaker 7 (07:26):
And he goes to team up with Draymond and the
Warriors and evens cause Draymond is combustible, is raw, is energetic,
and is emphatic, and so he wouldn't have worked with him.
And then you also had James Harden, who I think
is the opposite of these three in that I need
my own team.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
I'm just that good. I'm that dynamic and he was,
so I need my own team.

Speaker 7 (07:46):
So I think this three is worth the money because
it's the right nucleus. Now, I totally get what you're
saying about buying the you know, getting the other guys
in the surrounding cast.

Speaker 6 (07:55):
I do believe you looked at.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
Because that's what you're gonna need. Ut don't have those guys.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
You're gonna be at the point where you can't afford
anybody else, and that's when you become Phoenix, or you
become a.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
Team where you're top.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
But this is why relax with the Dolly parton.

Speaker 7 (08:15):
The reason why this is not Phoenix Rob is because
Sam Presty has an extreme track record of finding guys
that we go will shoot who is that? And then
they're really good or will shoot? I thought he was washed.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
Up getting a VET on a veteran minimum.

Speaker 7 (08:32):
And I think the key to this also would be
because they have a young, good nucleus, they'll be able
to get guys who are still good, but you know
their older veter saying Chris Paul, I'm just I know
he played there before, but on a on a lesser budget.
Because I have a chance to win when guys who
are really good vets who are obviously past their prime
but can be contributors, see that, Oh I can win.

(08:54):
I can go be a ray Allen to them, right,
I can go be a piece to them.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
I'll go be a metal world peace to Kobe Powell.

Speaker 7 (09:03):
And Andrew Bidam of lamar Odom, because I can be
a piece to a winning program for the let for
the Minimum, because I have a chance to finally win something.
So I think them having the right nucleus, with the
right mindset and the right attitude gives them a chance
to get some older vets on the for Minimum. And
Sam Pressey is a proven track record of getting some
younger guys.

Speaker 8 (09:21):
Now.

Speaker 6 (09:21):
My one concern, Rob, my one concern.

Speaker 7 (09:28):
And if I were to subscribe to the Rob Parker plane,
it will be because of this. Chet Holmegrin has had
two big injuries already. He missed his whole rookie campaign
and he only played thirty two because he landed on
his hip and he ain't got no meat, ain't none
on the backside. He and then broke his whole hip.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Rob.

Speaker 7 (09:46):
It sounded like a joker comedian would say, I broke
my hip he broke his whole hip. My only concern
is that is this Chet's future of up and down.

Speaker 6 (09:56):
I'm healthy, not healthy, hurt, hurt for the future.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Well that but that's why you strike when the irons hot,
because you already won your championship. Seriously, and I'm not
trying to say you bail, but that's when that that's
when everybody's hot. Now, anybody in their uncle would be
willing to take Chet. Now you played last year, right,
Oh yeah, I'll take him.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Are you kidding? You're giving him up? Yeah? But you
can't cool and you restop.

Speaker 7 (10:27):
You ain't giving up on a Chet this early. He
could be defensive player of the Year next year. He's
offensively score he can be. But but you be in
a wheelchair. And that's why you do. That's they stop
and see Rob, and you usually you there you go.
You almost went about a month without an extreme example.
I don't even know who are You almost went too long, Rob.
That was like you smoking a cigarette. B Let me

(10:50):
get to the cigarette. You had to finally get to
the extreme. Now he is in a wheelchair now, but
now you to put the man in the wheel You
didn't even say tweaking ankle.

Speaker 6 (10:58):
You didn't put him in a wheelchair.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
But I think it's saying like there's always a possibility.

Speaker 7 (11:03):
This three is built to have a run. You know,
I said this a month ago. They're built to have
a minimum. I believe a Boston Celtics runof we get
to a couple of finals, we win one, we get
to in their case, Western Conference finals, got a couple
of cracks at it. But I think they may be
the one that breaks the mold and finally wins multiple,
like multiple championships in a period of time, Like they

(11:25):
win two out of the next four, they win, you know,
three out of the next seven. This run they could
be on. They're built like that. To me, and I
see what the NBA has become. If anyone can crack
that code, I think they have the shot at it.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
Roight, Yeah, it's gonna be interested that she plays out.
So do you think they win the championship next year?

Speaker 5 (11:44):
Because I don't.

Speaker 7 (11:48):
It's gonna be tough with Obviously in their own conference,
Denver retooled, Houston got better.

Speaker 6 (11:54):
I think it's in the mix.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
This is what you have to go through, right exactly, But.

Speaker 6 (12:01):
They gave themselves a shot.

Speaker 7 (12:02):
Rob every single year for the next like I said,
five years or so. And that's all you can ask
for is be able to compete and don't disrespect Oklahoma
like that. That they should be happy with their little one.
Why they can't want to go crazy and get two
or three rounds? Because away?

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Because I could give you so many teams that after
they won Milwaukee, even the Celtics when they won their
you know, oh yeah, they're gonna repeat their team.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
Well, something happened on the way.

Speaker 7 (12:29):
To your I'm not saying what can happen. I'm saying,
you're you want to be happy.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Be happy that you got a championship, because there's so
many teams. The Knicks would take one everyone since nineteen
seventy three? Would they be happy to have won? The
Brooklyn Nets have never won. The Pistons haven't won since
two thousand and four. Right, that's twenty one years. I
could go on and on. The Utah Jazz have never won,

(12:55):
The New Orleans Pelicans have never twenty ten.

Speaker 7 (12:59):
Why I can't want to win? Why I gotta win
one and go away? All right, here's your one. Here
you go, turn around, smack them on the butt.

Speaker 6 (13:04):
Thank you. You don't have here, No, don't worry. The happy
was a song, Rob, I ain't happy. I want to compete.

Speaker 7 (13:10):
I got a twenty three, twenty four and a TwixT
year twenty six year old. Two of them, man, even
in the prime. One might have just stepped in his prime.
We going for it, dangd I couldn't do nothing with
the three MVPs, hard in Westbrook and Durant.

Speaker 6 (13:21):
I'm going for it now. If I'm Sam Presty, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Calm down, all right, eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Does the OKC Big Three look like a group that
can win multiple championships? Or should they have traded one
of them to get ahead of the salary cap crunch
that will hit them? It's going to happen. We'll continue

(13:45):
that conversation next with you the.

Speaker 6 (13:48):
Odds, Rob, they can get some of my aprons.

Speaker 7 (13:50):

That's what I.

Speaker 6 (15:19):
Gotta say to you. Is that right?

Speaker 5 (15:20):
What you're talking about?

Speaker 7 (15:21):
It's the I'm doing what you're talking about with Oh yeah,
they were like that was whoever the writer was on
that particular episode.

Speaker 6 (15:30):
They was all right, you gotta get to the magic point.
This is the moment.

Speaker 7 (15:33):
This is where you're oh, you're gonna earn your writing
credit right here. You better get us there, lead us
to this magical moment.

Speaker 6 (15:39):
What you talk?

Speaker 3 (15:40):
But you remember all black shows had some sort of
a catchphrase like.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
That, I don't mind.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
Yeah, there was always something.

Speaker 7 (15:47):
What was Jefferson? I'm trying to think what was their?
What was what's that? May was what she used to say?
Did she used to say something to uh?

Speaker 6 (15:58):
Did she? I think she used to have one?

Speaker 3 (15:59):
If I'm not mistake, Yeah, she's there was always there
was always something that was always viewed here.

Speaker 5 (16:03):
Always in the shot at some point, you know Martin,
Oh yeah, and then now what's happening Dwayne? Remember Dwayne had.

Speaker 7 (16:10):
A hey hey, hey, hey hey yeah, hey hey yep?

Speaker 5 (16:14):
All that a start left from fat Albert? Didn't he Okay,
hey hey hey it's fad Albert.

Speaker 6 (16:19):
I couple Robin Kevin TV things on Thursday. Clearly we
were talking about.

Speaker 7 (16:24):
For over forty years, Tirerack has been helping customers find
the right tires for how, what and where they drive?
Ship fast and free back by free Road has a
protection with convenient insulation options like mobile Tire Insallation, tyrerad
dot Com. The way tire buying should be. All right,
do you trade somebody, Rob says of the Oka CE
Big Three. I'll say, heck, no, you got a good three.
You ride this thing. I'll see if you can mess

(16:45):
around and win a couple. Rob says, get it while
strike with the iron's hot. That is a lot of hardmoney.
Eight hundred and twenty two million. Who eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox? It takes some calls that we got.

Speaker 5 (16:54):
How about Mark and Sacramento. You're in the couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (16:58):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (16:58):
Marking on ribbals going on? Mister Washington, I thought I
bugged the hell out of you guys for this week, so.

Speaker 6 (17:03):
I'm calling back. I'm all good.

Speaker 8 (17:08):
On this one. And mister Washington, I'm gonna ask you
to step back for a second because because mister Parker,
you know, I've been charging these young teams for about
three years now. I've been the guy who paid Oklahoma
City when I thought SGA was the most improved player.
Two years ago, and I thought he was the most
valuable player because he led all those NBA babies to
the best trick in last year. So I've been watching them.

(17:30):
But with that being said, I've been watching all these teams.
Haven't robbed. I tell you guys about me in Minnesota
last year. So what I'm saying to you is this
the last taper changed and the guard has changed. It's
not big threes anymore. It's not dominant teams anymore. It's parody.
You can see it. Seventh straight going on, eight straight
different champions. And I'll give you a gauge to watch.

(17:52):
The division to watch is the Midwest Division of the
Western Conference. They'll tell you what's gonna happen. Let me
tell you what just happened in the last three years
to to the last three NBA champions are from the division.
The three of the final four in the Western conferences
from the division last year and four of the last
five m vts and from the division. And man who's

(18:13):
been to the Comfort finals the last two years trying
to kick it down and get to the finals from
the division, the West Division of the Western Conference. Those
guys you need to watch that because that's what the
Gates will tell you what's gonna happen. And Zimber just
got stronger.

Speaker 5 (18:26):
They just got no doubt.

Speaker 6 (18:28):
We both talked about that.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
We all agree on that, no doubt about. Thanks Mark,
Thanks for Minnesota. Now appreciate Minnesota.

Speaker 6 (18:34):
Appreciate you.

Speaker 7 (18:34):
Mar Minnesot's gonna have to make some moves too, because
that's part of who he's talking about. They got some
really we all love and we love what they're doing,
but they're gonna have to make some moves because I
don't think they're built to compete now with the other two.
They'll be in the mix, they'll win the nice amount
of games, but all gonna.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
Do is play the Lakers. They'll beat the Lakers every year,
that's all that matters.

Speaker 6 (18:52):
But that'll be the first round robin.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
And I'm saying, yeah, but they've gone to the conference
finals the last.

Speaker 6 (18:58):
Night, That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 7 (19:00):
I think they had a you know, and there's still
something moves he made, there's a trading made, there's some guy.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
We didn't think would be available to be made.

Speaker 7 (19:07):
But they need another piece to compete with the Denver
to compete with obviously, Okay, see and maybe even.

Speaker 5 (19:13):
Houston H Taylor in Iowa. You're in the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up Taylor?

Speaker 11 (19:21):
So hasn't okase? He protected themselves With all these draft
picks that are coming up. You can get rid of
the mid level TI HI good players, not the great players,
but you can replace them with these younger, cheaper versions.

Speaker 7 (19:37):
That's the Yeah, they're they're very deep, and that's what
I was brought up Sam Presty that he's been remarkable
at finding guys in drafts.

Speaker 6 (19:44):
You're like, who's this guy? And he ends up being
a quality player.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
Yeah, but at some point the bill does come due
with the apron and you're gonna wind up losing people
who have been a part of your team. We saw
what happen in Denver where they couldn't pay those guys anymore.
They didn't want to pay the tax. So all I'm
saying is be pre act b think about it and
say we don't need three people to win. That's the

(20:07):
old model to win. You need depth, you need other pieces,
other players. And we have two really good stars and
now we can surround them and you trade. If it's
Chet or.

Speaker 6 (20:22):
Uh J Dubbs.

Speaker 5 (20:25):
You trade. You know, I'm just saying.

Speaker 6 (20:27):
But I can't trade neither one to come on, right.

Speaker 5 (20:30):
All right, I trade? But my point is my point.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
My point is that that you're you're being proactive, not reacting.

Speaker 6 (20:37):
And I thought you liked him young.

Speaker 5 (20:42):
Basketball court Young.

Speaker 6 (20:44):
That's not what we're talking about all talking about.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
Okay, Andre in Massachusetts, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
What's up, Dre.

Speaker 8 (20:53):
Hey? How you doing?

Speaker 12 (20:54):
Thanks taking a car? I got no problem with OKC
securing their future, the the young guy. What are they
twenty three, twenty four, and twenty six?

Speaker 6 (21:02):
Correct?

Speaker 12 (21:02):
Do you have your core going forward? Nonetheless, I do
have this issue with everybody being intent on getting the max. Okay,
that's going to pus them into second apron.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
It's gonna happen, right, it is right.

Speaker 12 (21:17):
In twenty twenty se not next year, but the year
after that, twenty twenty seven. And that's what I think
players need and their their representation if you want to
keep these championship and possibly dynastic teams together. Everybody can't
get every last penny. Somebody has to take a step
back and they say I'm gonna take that.

Speaker 6 (21:36):
That's why are you getting a hair cut. You go,
you're going to pro clips? Are you? Are you going?

Speaker 7 (21:41):
I mean, you know, like who's the what do they
go all put a stick in and be like all right,
who gets shortest stick?

Speaker 6 (21:44):
Gotta take? Like I hear you? But who who does it?

Speaker 8 (21:47):
Like?

Speaker 6 (21:47):
Who? Jay Will? All right? Man, it's just usually gotta
take the cut?

Speaker 8 (21:49):
All right?

Speaker 6 (21:50):
Who you gee? What I'm saying, how does that? How
does that help?

Speaker 5 (21:53):
But that's why I didn't say that. That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
Like they signed them and then they make a trade,
they get their money, you win a chanceampionship, and you continue.
That's all I'm talking. I'm not saying, you know, him
against people taking a hometown discount. I'm not into that
at all. Okay I'm not the only time I said
that it would be different is Lebron James, who's trying
to win?

Speaker 5 (22:14):
Who's here to win? Like at forty forty one years old.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
You're not here just to play, You're here to try
to win another championship. That's a guy who I could say, Okay,
it doesn't matter if you make the most money, because
you're trying to put together the best team to give
you a shot at this age that you're still playing.

Speaker 7 (22:32):
Yeah, we got a conversation about another guy who just
got all the money and people are questioning does he
want to win. We'll talk about that after we hear
from Monci Belanjos, who's got your set on ones training Monci.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 7 (22:54):
My goodness, interesting, man, they gonna be, like Monsey said,
we're gonna be in the August Madness. It is the
couple Rob Parker kelvin Washington on a TV theme. So
on Thursday, Rob, we just were talking about the thunder
paying a bunch of money. Now you got another person
that's making a whole lot of money in the NBA,
and that would be, of course, Devin Booker, who just

(23:14):
signed a two year extension of one hundred and forty
five million dollars and a lot of people are saying,
a minute, this is out. We was like halfway through
our show, I believe yesterday when it came out, and
so we couldn't really dive too deep in it at
the moment.

Speaker 6 (23:26):
But a lot of people are jumping.

Speaker 7 (23:28):
Out and they're saying, oh.

Speaker 6 (23:31):
Don't he must not really want to win.

Speaker 7 (23:33):
He doesn't really want to win a lot of people
are questioning that about Devin Booker.

Speaker 6 (23:36):
And I don't feel that way. I don't feel that
way at all.

Speaker 7 (23:39):
In fact, I feel as though sometimes and if you've
heard me mention this before, it always blows my mind
how teams get the escape go, how teams you know,
aren't expected to do their part.

Speaker 6 (23:49):
Devin Booker has done his part.

Speaker 7 (23:51):
He's been All NBA, he's been All Star obviously several times,
been to Olympics.

Speaker 5 (23:55):
They win a championship that he went.

Speaker 7 (23:57):
To the finals. So what he's done exactly what they've
asked of him. Why wouldn't he want to, you know,
and be paid handsomely. And they're the ones who traded
all the way. They're till twenty to thirty one their
draft picks. They're the one who brought in Bradley bial
and not just brought Bradley bill le in.

Speaker 5 (24:14):
Okay, I get it, no, no, but this is the difference.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
And this is interesting that you take this upstance because
you talk about Cleveland and Lebron. They didn't do anything,
and now you're looking at Phoenix. So I don't want
to hear about Devin Booker and wasting his talent when
he's in Phoenix for the next two or three years
and they're not competing. They're not in the mix in

(24:38):
the Western Conference. Would you agree with that?

Speaker 5 (24:40):
They're not in the mix?

Speaker 3 (24:42):
So when people say that, they just look at it
and say, that's nice.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
You are going to.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
Get your seventy five million dollars a year, but you're
not even So that's why they look at it. He
hasn't won a championship. It's not that they're not holding
the other people accountable because they've made bad decisions.

Speaker 5 (25:00):
And I'm with right on the suns. I'm not giving them.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
But if you're Devin Booker, there's no way you sign
that and look at your landscape and your team and
think you have any shot to win that that that
is what.

Speaker 5 (25:13):
You have to come to terms.

Speaker 6 (25:14):
So Rob, is this okay? I'm glad you said that.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
That's all I'm no do you agree with that? That's
why I say you're not you agree with that. If
you're Devin Booker. The day you sign that, you know
we can't get anybody. We don't have any money. We're
not going to the NBA Finals, right, he knows that.

Speaker 7 (25:31):
Here's what I think is happening. Devin Booker is trying
to be now he'll never be. He's not on Lebron's trajectory.
But what everybody wanted Lebron or wanted the Kobe, or
wanted other people to be, stay with your team, fight
through it, persevere, it can get better. And I think
he's damned if he does. Damned if he does, and
if he leaves, oh man, he ain't pushed through. He

(25:54):
ain't you know, he trying to chase the rick. If
he stays, what are you doing? You're clearly never gonna
win there. So I think he for him. If the
little bit that we know about him, he's not the
most outwardly guy, doesn't post a lot.

Speaker 6 (26:05):
He's kind of more of a private, thorough kind of dude.
I think his disposition is I like it here.

Speaker 7 (26:12):
If you know anything about him, he is a little
heavy in the community there. I think he's enjoyed his
time there, and I do think he might look at
it as when you just solely invested in me and
we were trying to do our thing.

Speaker 6 (26:25):
We got to the finals. Obviously they lost.

Speaker 7 (26:27):
They lost to a good team in the Bucks and
Giannis with you know, an MVP and MVP candidate guy routinely.
But we were competing getting better, made it to the finals.
When you made me the top dog and invested in me,
And when you guys start trying to you know, do
too much bringing this and now you've got Ishaba and
the whole new ownership group.

Speaker 6 (26:44):
We're gonna do this.

Speaker 7 (26:44):
We're going crazy, and they're just making any kind of
move as opposed to creating a program a system that
can work. I think he's saying, if we get back
to that, we can have a shot to be competitive.
He's still young enough, very young. I don't think what
twenty eight or something like that where they can still
have a shot, you know, in a year too.

Speaker 6 (27:03):
No way.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
He looks sad the landscape of what's in front of him.

Speaker 7 (27:06):
But I don't think then. I think he's one of
those guys I want to do. I want to be
the reason this works. I want to be the reason
the fan. I want to do what Rob said, just
get one and it'd be done if it takes me five, six, seven,
eight more years and I got the one.

Speaker 6 (27:22):
It was well worth it.

Speaker 7 (27:23):
He strikes me as that Damian Lillard type until Dame
had had enough. And that's what I think we're looking at,
where he might just be here another two three for
you and eventually becomes Trey in the car with Doe
boy yode let me out. And I think he finally
wants to get out of Phoenix. But I think for
the next two to four years he wants to fight

(27:43):
in Phoenix, try to make it happen in Phoenix. He
got a taste of what the NBA Finals felt like,
and I think that's why he's trying to stay there.

Speaker 5 (27:51):
Yeah, I just think he wanted to cash out. I'm
not mad at him.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
I just think that he does nowhere The Suns fit in,
and that's not on the outside looking in, at least
for the start of the season. You never know what
can happen. But I don't think that he has any
ideas that they're closer any clutter. Now they're further away
than when they had Durant and Bradley Beale and and

(28:16):
they and they didn't even do anything. Imagine they had
those two guys, they couldn't even make the playoffs, So
now you don't have one already, and it's going to
be a Bradley Bill is probably going to be bought out,
and then you got to kind of figure it out.

Speaker 7 (28:30):
There is some hope that maybe with the Bradley Bial
you can you know, pull off something with that, whether
it be to buy him out of the block, do something. Yeah,
I mean, but that goes to my point of just
what I was making a moment ago like that. So
if you want to win, you should take a haircut, Bradley,
don't take all the money and a book.

Speaker 6 (28:48):
Not you, I'm saying, you know, that was kind of the.

Speaker 7 (28:52):
Narrative we were here, Oh he don't want to win
or he don't want to And I'm like, dude, why
do I have to be the one? I'm blunts tears
for the city. I don't want to go anywhere per se.
Can they get it right? Can they start making better moves?
Can they stop making outrageous moves giving up we ain't
got no giving up all the draft picks and no
no trade clauses and bring in Bradley Bill, And how

(29:13):
about they get it right?

Speaker 6 (29:14):
Why does the owners have to be on me?

Speaker 7 (29:15):
So I think that's just kind of his makeup and
his disposition, so uh, he might he definitely go have
to have a seat for a while, meaning you know,
you you're not winning for the time being without it,
that's for sure. But I think for him he feels
like there's enough time. I'm still young enough that maybe
we can just get it right at some point. So
we'll have to have to wait and see. All right,
on the way round, we got shop talk. Rob g

(29:35):
cooked up something, uh and we're gonna have a very unique,
interesting one to say the least, that you don't want
to miss.

Speaker 6 (29:43):
It's the odd wa wait.

Speaker 5 (29:44):
A minute, wait a minute, what what do we.

Speaker 7 (29:46):
Do look at that? Don't tell them? Don't they gotta
they gotta they want to hear. Yeah, this one is
a little wild. You don't want to miss. It's the Couple.
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 7 (30:08):
All right, it's the Yacht Couple Rob Parker kelvin Washington
on a TV themes on Thursda'm gonna let this one
breathe a little bit.

Speaker 6 (30:17):
Born and raised most of my days.

Speaker 7 (30:22):
Do you have summer plans? And if they do you?
If you do, do they include a new job. If
you want to work with an expert in your local
job market to find the right role, all you gotta
do is call your local Express Employment professionals and go
to expresspros dot com and Express never, that's right, never
charges your job seekers of feasts, So go check them
out at expresspros dot com.

Speaker 6 (30:42):
Your's the bell Air. It's time now for shop talk.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
Ain't nobody ain't nimping to bump shop?

Speaker 4 (30:50):
You know that.

Speaker 7 (30:50):
Ain't nobody you talking about whoever whatever whatever you want?

Speaker 5 (30:54):
You in the box up?

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Wait you now, it's shop talking.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
That's right, it is shop talk here on the Akaba
Sports Radio said when we talk about something happen outside
of the world of sports, and we got to you
because Cooper Flag's putting on a damn show and we
need the audience.

Speaker 5 (31:05):
We say, no, no, it's about Bronnie. It's Bronnie or
is it Cooper?

Speaker 4 (31:09):
It's about Brown are They're both putting on a show?

Speaker 6 (31:12):
And Rob g all right, you guys, some splaining a
dude with this one.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
Now, we'll get we'll get to that top of the hours.
But this is a bigger story. This is business, bigger
than Flag versus Bronne. I'll tell you out right now
because Melayna Vain Trump, if you don't know who she is,
she's the AT and T sales person you've seen in
the commercials like Okay, Yes, she has started an only
fans themed website where she sells sexy photos for charity

(31:41):
to help families who were displaced by those dreadful Ala fires.
She's calling it only philanthropy. So guys, here is the question.
Do you have any issue with only fans themed content
being used for charity work? Rober you're the one of kazums?

Speaker 8 (32:00):
Is that?

Speaker 6 (32:00):
Rock Parker? I hate to slid that. It all quick.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
Anything that helped the needy in the poor arm with
just about. It's not like it's illegal you don't want
to take. And this was the old issues in the
in the old days where the drug dealer would see
the Little League team in the neighborhood right and give
money for the uniforms, and parents used to say, ah ah,

(32:25):
thank you, but we we're not doing that. We're not
taking that money even though we need it for the uniforms.
You see what I'm saying, that's illegal stuff. Only fans
is not illegal. It's like people who are down on
strip clubs. You don't have to go to strip clubs.
You don't have to be in that culture and want
to do it. It's not illegal. Only fans is a

(32:49):
legal business. And I hate to break it to you,
but if you look on the Internet and whatnot, eight
seventy percent of the use of the Internet is for pornography.

Speaker 5 (33:04):
It's there.

Speaker 7 (33:06):
So it's interesting, rob g with it. Yeah, yeah, I
actually so. I actually saw her post about this. You
mentioned this is the this is the second go round
because the first one did so well.

Speaker 6 (33:17):
So essentially what she you know, what she's doing.

Speaker 7 (33:19):
To add to your point, Robbie is like, you know,
I'm in a regular old lingerie or just it's like
you said, it's not the full on thing.

Speaker 6 (33:26):
If you know, we're saying, it's not that I don't
mind it.

Speaker 7 (33:29):
I mean, listen, if every you know what, there is
a sports I leave her name out. There's a sportscaster
who said when she first got in this business, you
know she you know, obviously she's attractive, and so she
was like, I got annoyed if people all she only
got the job because she cuted her this, that and
the other. So she said she tried to go away
from that. So she put on glasses. She tried to
nerd herself up, if you will, And then still people

(33:50):
are like, oh, she looks nerdy hot now, So she
realized I can't win either way. I might as well
just embrace that I'm hot and just hey, it is
what it is. My point is if people loving her
and want to see her, and she already knows that,
and she not, hey, go ahead. If she wants to
help out the people about like, go ahead, I don't.
I don't have a big problem with this either. And
I guarantee the people who's you know, got some extra clothes,
we're able to get food in their pantry.

Speaker 5 (34:11):
They don't either, MANCEI we need to hear from you.

Speaker 6 (34:15):
Oh, I have no problem with it.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
You go girl, help those people out, No problem.

Speaker 6 (34:20):
A little too quick, man, more.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Power to her.

Speaker 5 (34:23):
Go ahead, girl, I'm with you, Manta Manzi is not illegal, right,
it's not.

Speaker 6 (34:31):
No, I just not.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
It's not even just that.

Speaker 13 (34:33):
I guess even if like per se there was it
was like illegal quote unquote, I'll be like, go girl,
if you can, if you can help others out, and
you want to do it that way, by all means,
by all or illegal.

Speaker 6 (34:44):
She said, get it, get it, get it. You know
what I'm saying, MANI Fina move to Astterdam. Okay, yeah,
why not?

Speaker 13 (34:52):
I mean I and I understand why she's making so
much money. If you see her pictures, you're like, of
course you're making that kind of money.

Speaker 6 (35:00):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (35:01):
People were like, hold on eight eight, people were switching
eighteen and I'm going I'm going AT and tmobile Hello, Yeah,
I'm out.

Speaker 8 (35:08):
No.

Speaker 13 (35:08):
I give credit to AT and T for the nice
cover up for so many years.

Speaker 6 (35:13):
You know what I'm saying. That was a nice little cover.

Speaker 4 (35:15):
She had said for a long time that she didn't
like being sexualized, which is crazy, right.

Speaker 13 (35:19):
But I I did not know until she came out
and said that the way she actually looked.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
Give it up for AT and D.

Speaker 5 (35:25):
That's what I'm saying, Rob g Alex, where are you?

Speaker 6 (35:30):
Alex has already donated.

Speaker 9 (35:33):
That's like old and Paulinies coming and saying I don't
like being tall, I.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Don't like being asked if I was a basketball.

Speaker 9 (35:39):
Player's a kid being born into a rich man. I
don't like being rich. Are you upset on what you
were given? I don't get that. Like, if you choose
to embrace it or embellish it, go for it. Why
would you be mad at the world. That doesn't make
any sense because you.

Speaker 7 (35:49):
Don't see me for my marrit or how good I've
how hard I've worked. Alex, that's what That's what the
one could say. You would say, I only got this
position because I'm pretty.

Speaker 6 (35:59):
It's pretty privileged. You would say to me, I have
no problem with that. I deal with this too, by
the way.

Speaker 9 (36:05):
Okay, I'm just saying, if you're gonna do it, might
as well do it and help some folks.

Speaker 6 (36:10):
Yeah, I get it. I get it.

Speaker 5 (36:12):
I thought about I thought about a pooring career. But
then I say, what, Rob, six years out of business?

Speaker 6 (36:19):
Stop?

Speaker 3 (36:21):
Tell me all all over you see that, everybody, even
Manti's like six years Rob?

Speaker 5 (36:27):
Stop Rob, Rob.

Speaker 7 (36:28):
I mean you already told us the network, You told
us the radio station you work at, if those.

Speaker 9 (36:35):
Were called I think it's a genius idea yea.

Speaker 7 (36:38):
Now, Alex, see, now you went from trying to save
the job to getting them back losing his job again,
that fast.

Speaker 6 (36:43):
And n website.

Speaker 9 (36:46):
Chows a better career path.

Speaker 7 (36:48):
Yeah, but listen, congress or you know, more power to her.
And again, let me tell you about who who don't
who won't have any complaints, the people whose lives will
be on, people who have food, people will clothes.

Speaker 6 (36:59):
They're like, y'all can argue, boy.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
That she was sharing a post that she raised over
one hundred thousand dollars girl in one day for a
single mom or five year old who had mental health
and so many people and they had two teenage kids
who lost their house.

Speaker 6 (37:15):
Damn, I'm in the wrong business. You are.

Speaker 4 (37:17):
And you know what's crazy is like this is not
a new idea like this? Yeah, and how old you
guys are. Obviously you guys are the odds.

Speaker 6 (37:24):
Wh whoa, whoa, whoa whoa? What's about the extra hire fighters?

Speaker 4 (37:27):
And like police officers were doing this forever, those calendars
they go to the door, Hey do you not see
this dude? Six packs and it's gonna cost you twenty
five bucks.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
But but but we we talk about this, We talked
about it before things could be.

Speaker 5 (37:41):
Solved so quickly and easily. People have so much money
we just need.

Speaker 3 (37:46):
Can somebody step up and three hundred and thirty million
dollars as all we need and we'll get everything fixed up.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
So here's a different question that since you guys where
everyone agrees on would obviously we have an issue with
her doing it? Do you have an issue? It's so
somebody that you know or care about doing it.

Speaker 6 (38:03):
From what I gather, I haven't seen it, but from
what I guess, it's not new. She's worrying.

Speaker 7 (38:08):
Yes, So here here's here's my thing, realquay I And
we're getting ready to get it. Only if I don't
get ten percent right, they're rob ging, so what A
lot of what A lot of people and especially women
are realizing. They're like, I posted something on the Instagram
and me at the beach in my bikini.

Speaker 6 (38:22):
You guys are going drooling, going crazy.

Speaker 7 (38:24):
They're like, well, if I get some money for posting
the same thing I just put on my Instagram, A
lot of people are doing that, right, That's just like,
what's what's the difference?

Speaker 6 (38:31):
So I think that's it.

Speaker 7 (38:31):
If you're just doing something you would put on the
ground anyway, but you know a way to help out people.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
So what Kelvin. That's the conversation that porn stars have.
They say, I have this beautiful body, right, I'm very sexual. Anyway,
I'm gonna be having sex for free. I might as
well set some cameras up and make money off of it.

Speaker 6 (38:51):
Is this what they sold you?

Speaker 4 (38:55):
That's how roified his life post Detroit.

Speaker 7 (38:58):
He was like, so tell me, hey, Rob g He said, so,
how did you get to this point?

Speaker 6 (39:02):
That is what he was saying.

Speaker 7 (39:02):
I was having a cigarette with her, So how did
you get to this place?

Speaker 6 (39:06):
Well, sir, I U. Rob's had the.

Speaker 4 (39:08):
Same conversation with three mentees already.

Speaker 6 (39:11):
Rob had this conversation, who's got a deal for us?
